Indian Hills Apartments

We´ve been here a year and two months now and it is by far the best apartment in which we have ever lived. We got a 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1,038 sq ft apartment with Roman tub in the master bath, fireplace, an excellent floor plan and plenty of storage. The complex is lovely and full of (gasp!) green grass and trees. I´m looking at a pine tree out our bedroom window as I write this. There are three pools and the main one looks like the Tropicana Casino pool without the waitresses. It has a little bridge and several waterfalls. We had to call in maintenance for four minor things the first few days (dishwasher hose, screen door on the balcony, etc) and they were here promptly and efficiently. (You can read our entire adventure on our moving to Las Vegas help website www.lasvegashq.net.)

We have covered, assigned parking for one car and the other one we park in a "free" space which, since it is in a glade of trees, might as well be covered.

The central air makes such a difference over our old apartment. And, even with two cats, we pay just $822 a month.

The location is also terrific. While the complex is on West Sahara Ave between Decatur and Valley View, it is set back a long, lovely drive and is walled on all sides. (Gates locked at night.) This means we are just 3 miles from the strip and are within a mile of practically every chain store and fast food place on the planet.

I could go on and on. If you´d like to ask specific questions, email us at larycrews@cox.net.

Beware if you choose to move in for the low value price of $380.00 includes water/electricity as of 9/2003. With every shower like in a house if someone flushes or runs water in same unit you get fluctuating water temp. I am not sure of this or if this just randomly happens during the shower. From just right to cold to very very scorching hot water! PS: Must share kitchen in all units. Other units you must share the bathroom/shower/bathtub! You do get your own private sink in your room.

what a loust dump the manager has her Mexican maintenance men poisoning unwanted tennants pets. They converted 3 surrounding units into classroms and made our apartment uninhabitable. The Roaches are better tennants than the neighbours who are freaks from Boznia and Serbia War refugees!!

we were forced to move

Beware of this place!

This complex is horrible. It is in a very unsafe neighborhood of town. When I was living here I had a problem with the tenant above me playing loud music at all hours of the night and I spoke to management. Their advice was to learn to live with it. The apartment had cockroaches and ants, and when I moved in apartment had not been cleaned.

This complex is a very nice complex, with one problem, the manager Gayle O' Conner. This lady is the 2nd worst landlord I have ever had. Her husband would get drunk and come to my apartment, she would come over demanding to come into my apartment to check for him. Also, they felt they had access into my apartment any time they chose, even when there was no maintenance or any work to be done in the apartment. This would happen about 2 times a week. On the good side though, the apartments are very clean, well maintained, and in a great location. Across the street is a park, less than 2 blocks away is wal-mart, there is a grocery store close, and you are only about 1.5 miles from strip.

THE STAFF AT THE APARTMENT COMPLEX WAS EXCEPTIONALLY GREAT AND HELPFUL TO ME AND MY BROTHER WHEN WE VISITED THE COMPLEX. THEY MADE SURE THAT WE SAW ALL AVAILABLE APARTMENTS TO CHOOSE FROM AND EXPLAINED IN DETAIL EVERY ASPECT OF THE AMENITIES THAT WERE AVAILABLE TO US. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED AND DECIDED TO MAKE THIS OUR NEW HOME.

Me and my roomate moved here in july of 03 and we are still here at the hampton court. we leave soon. This place is a dump but cheap and close to our work. There are serbs here most of them are cool. But the younger kids have no respect. mangament sucks. The rooms suck i have ants, and spiders. But the heater and air work nice. Its my first place i love it because im young. I wouldn't recommend it to couples or people who like nice things. its close to the strip and shopping. But its not in a good area alot of crime. Pack some heat. my friend and i have shotguns and knives here. They have a bascketball court but no hoop. Pool is dirty. My Nieghbors are quiet my block is the quietist from the others we were lucky. so it is not loud. My nieghbors are all from yougoslavia but they keep to thereselves there nice i even drink with sometimes. there decent people there kids are not. So this place is a shit hole but home for me.

I am a current resident and I can't wait for my lease to be up. I had property stolen off my second story balcony and called the property manager 5 times and she never called me back. I also called the corp. office twice and they never got back to me either. The night time grounds security also told me that there was a rapist and a "peeping tom" prowling this complex.

Terrible Management. Management is extreamely picky and constinately nit piking at minor thing. However I have had a tolit that has never flushed since the day I moved in (ten Months now). Many other maintenance problems unresolved and the management refuses to allow me out of my lease early due to my unhappiness of the living conditions even with a 60 day notice.

I've lived here for over four years, since 1999 and in the past two years the place has gone downhill. Constant management changes, the pool and hottub seldom get serviced and is constantly shut down by the Clark County Health District for unsanitary reasons. The garbage dumpsters are inaccessible to people in wheelchairs, and requests to fix that have fallen on deaf ears for over a year. Since I've moved in, their rental requirements have steadily declined, allowing rather unsavory people to rent here. Although the apartment complex is centrally located and within walking distance of shopping and 6 bus routes, I still think the property itself needs vast improvements.

I have lived here for three months. There is crime in the area, the neighbors are trash, there is loud music, which management does nothing about, and the buildings were built in 1980, windows and doors are warped, all glass is single pane only. Management does nothing to stop people from blaring their stereos until all hours, nor do they attempt to replace warped windows and doors.

This is a good apartment. You get alot for the price, but there are other less pricey apartments in the area (although they are not nearly as nice). The one main draw back of the complex is that it has a large number of kids. Alot of kids. But overall the apartments themselves are nice which probably means that the kids aren't tearing up the property... but there are alot of them.

Mayan Plaza Apartments

Date Visited: 09/03 - Bad Impression
Upon moving in, there was a fine soapy powder that rose from the carpet, as well as an overflowing toilet, grease all over the walls and structural damage. I had to stay in a hotel the first night of my lease. Even after respiratory problems and a severe rash caused by the soapy powder in the carpet (with doctor verification and photographs), they never corrected the problem. Finally, 6 weeks into the lease, the apartment was still uninhabitable so I moved out and filed a lawsuit against them. They deviously counter-sued for me "breaking the lease" and the judge nullified any award, causing me to lose my security deposit as well as $500 in storage fees for my furniture (that I couldn't move in until the powder issue was corrected) and all kinds of other expenses that I incurred. I had several neighbors with other problems, including flooding, an actual fire in the freezer, and other problems. Mayan Plaza baited and swiched me by showing me a beautiful model apartment and then moving me into a dump which they never made habitable. And then, after 6 weeks of hell, I finally left the aprtment for my own health and they proceeded to steal my security deposit and all the rent and expenses I had prepaid. They should be investigated and shut down!

Country Club Towers

I've lived in Country Club TOwers since 2001. The management is unprofessional the maintenance is never taken care of in a timely manner, I've waited as long as a month for my HEAT to be fixed. My power bill is almost always $500 in the summer because of little or no insulation, the building was built in the 70's and no upgrades have been made since and the rent is outrageous for the level of luxury.

I live here and after only 2 months my car was broken into and my stereo stolen. I have seen several apartments with orange police crime scene stickers on them, and no longer feel safe in the area. The pool has been closed for the last 2 months for "repairs" and still is not complete, and before that the water was never very clean. As soon as my lease is up I am out of here.

We lived at this complex while our home was under construction. The Management staff was very unprofessional. Big lack of security. Three cars that we know of were stolen from the parking lot while we lived there. Other cars would park in our space often. Management did nothing to prevent or correct this. We had many maintainance problems that would linger on for weeks with out any resolve. Please avoid this property. It needs an ovehaul from the ground up!!!!

The incentive to move in the "specials" are just bait and switch. They will approve anyone with reasonable credit, but no one for the $1.00 to $99.00 move in. Anyone renting will have to shovel out as much $$$$$$$ up front as they can justify for an initial move in. Even after this, do not expect that you will be moving into anything halfway decent. Many problems there that the management and maintenence will have to be called about.

Racquet Club Apartments

Date Visited: 02/04
Name has changed to Rancho Verde under what I understand is new management. But it is still a "Racket". A severe roach infestation problem which they seem to ignore. Raw sewage constantly seeps from broken pipes. The nice looking pool at the front office has not seen a swimmer for the past three summers that I know of. Maintenance is present only in the front apartments. Trash accumulates under the stairs in the back apartments. There have been several shootings there, in fact one this month. Drug sales are prevalent and this last shooting was rumored to be drug related. There is rumored to be a mildew and mold problem and I would invite anyone considering renting there to drive through this complex a couple of nights, at random and not only see who your neighbors would be but note the traffic. At this point after knowing residents there for almost three years I fail to understand why the city has not closed Rancho Verde/Racquet Club down. There seem to be several health related problems there.

I have lived there for over a year. Yes they are picky, but that is a good thing no? They are obviously watching the complex and trying to keep it good for everyone. I know I personally like going home and not hearing alot of noise, not seeing trash everywhere, or seeing groups of people hanging out in the parking lot all hours of the night. If you want to see that you should go to Cayman Bay....
Management has always been friendly, and if I had any maintence problems they were usually resolved the same day or the next day.
So I highly recommend this complex.

I have visited this complex and thought it was pretty good. I do agree that it is very close to shopping, bus line, and the strip. The tenants I met seemed to be pretty nice and enjoy living here. I also met the manager and the maintenence staff which are very good at what they do.. IE; they have cleaned up the property by getting rid of the bad elements and making this complex a beautiful place as it once was..... My personal opinion is that these young men should be nominated for the "Jefferson" award and given a lot more money for what they have been doing... It was my understanding that this property has not had good people running it like this for quite some time.... come by the property and take a look....I rate this property to be a good one....

Mayan Plaza Apartments

Date Visited: 10/03 - Bad Impression
we first came to see the Mayan plaza apartment complex because they were listed as a front page property by Apartment Guide. we were shown a very nice model apartment and were told ours would be larger but generally the same, so we decided to move in. When we first got inside our own apartment, there were ants crawling everywhere, the toilet was broken and wouldn't flush, the sink leaked all over under the cabinet, the door fell off the bathroom, the bathtub was moldy, there are no windows anywhere in the apartment (unlike the model we were shown), the air conditioning broke three times in the first week, the bathroom sink water was not hooked up, the refrigerator runs constantly, causing an unreal electricity bill, several lights were not working, the balcony screen was broken, and most of the appliances are damaged or broken. We tried to get out of our lease about a week after moving into this infested trash dump and were told that there was absolutly no way to get out of it and that we would have to pay the rent for our entire 13 month lease ( we were never told they offer a 6 month lease) whether we lived here or not. So we are stuck here for the next 7 months in a horrible place where we don't even feel safe because the security guard at the gate shows up about once a month and the gate is broken most of the time allowing anyone to enter, there were even people digging through the trash dumpsters. I would reccomend to stay as far away from this complex and its surrounding area to anyone looking for an apartment in las vegas, it may be cheap but you will pay if you move here.

The *only* good thing about this complex is that they allow pets. I lived there for a year. There was a great turnover in the office staff. . .the friendly and helpful staff were invariably gone in a week or two. The manager never could remember my name or where I lived in the building, or who my adult son was who lived with me. Maintenance requests only got resolved if I complained to him each day until things were fixed. Some things were never fixed. They pride themselves that they are a "secured building" but the gate was broken more often than not. They "remodel" AFTER you move out. New tenants get upgrades; existing tenants get nothing. These are VERY expensive apartments and everyone deserves more for their money. If you need a short term solution because you have pets, this is okay for a month or two until you find something better. But beware of apartment complexes that are only 50% occupied! There IS a reason!

I've been living here for almost a year now & I couldn't help commenting on the last rating of this complex. First off sorry for the car being broken into, but that stuff happens everywhere. Those stickers on the doors are evictions not police crime scene tape, what a laugh. Also, the pool was closed for the winter & a total overhall, they just re did the concrete. Management & maintenance could use help, nice people, but flakey on the "get the job done" aspect. Overall this place is great. It's quiet, & safe & I love it here & would recommend it to anyone!

Spring Palms Apartments

Date Visited: 03/04 - Bad Impression
I've been living in the Spring Palms for 3 months now. Spring Palms, Spring Meadows and Spring Oaks are all exacty the same and run by the same people, neighboring each other. Every few days the water will go out for one or two hours, it'll just stop working. They're only excuse is "its an old building". It's been happening for 3 months and I've given up on the problem ever getting fixed, I'm just going to have to deal with it. They will tow your car for any reason they can think of then charge you $200 to get it back, even when they admit they made a mistake in towing it, and if you think you'd get credit toward the next months rent, forget about it. One day my toilet ceased to function, I personally went down to the office to tell them and they told me someone would be there right away. Hours later, which was about 5 minutes before they closed, I called them and then went back to the office asking if the problem could be fixed before they closed, so I'd have a bathroom to use. At first they said they were about to close so there was nothing they could do, but after some persistance, they agreed to have someone look at it. He worked on it for about 15 minutes and told me he'd be right back, he had to go get a part. He never came back. The next day I called and visited the office all day, still couldn't get anyone over. Finally the next day someone finally came and fixed the toilet. I went a total of 48 hours with no toilet, I had to go to the grocery store across the street when I needed to go! The place isn't work it, LOOK ELSEWHERE!!

Enclaves Apartments

I lived there in 1998 and can't wait to return some day soon. The place is absolutely
incredible! There is no way I can tell you about all the positive aspects of this complex
and its management in just one paragraph. The only thing they needed to change back
then was to assure that the carpets looked new when the tenants moved in. The only
way for you to possibly comprehend how incredible the place is, is to go see for yourself.
I lived in Vegas for four years and other places for 15yrs, and dream of returning to the
Enclaves soon. I am busier than you can imagine at this moment, but just had to take 5
minutes to get a login ID and write this comment. Thanks to everyone who managed the
place in 1998. You were all wonderful.

If you enjoy garbage strewn parking lots, broken windows, graffiti adorned laundry rooms, drug busts, dog crap on your doorstep and section 8 neighbors from foreign lands who don't appear to have gainful employment you'll love this place. We've lived here for 2 years and have watched it radpidly deteriorate because of management that doesn't seem to care anymore. The lounge chair that's been on the bottom of the swimming pool for 2 months however is an amenity.

I toured this complex this morning. The resident manager was lovely, very friendly, very knowledgeable. The complex itself is nice from the outside. The inside, however, is beyond disgusting. The hallway carpets are filthy. The front doors to the apartments are white. . .or WERE white, they all have black marks all up and down them. And the hallways REEK of garbage from the trash chutes.

I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone.

I toured this complex this morning. It's so ratty looking from the outside, but the entry way and the hallways are appealing and luxurious. The apartments, themselves, however are quite dark. Kitchens are dumpy.

For the price, I'd say look somewhere else.

This is a lovely complex. Formerly an office building, the apartments I viewed were huge. The views are to DIE for, with wraparound windows.

The drawbacks are:

1. The price. Come on. . .$1,250 a month for an apartment without windows that open?

2. Windows that don't open. How does one air out the apartment? No decks, no fresh air. Although I fell in love with the apt. I am looking elsewhere due to these two reasons.

Wildflower Apartments

I rented an apartment for 6 months and found it to be worth while especially with the low income most jobs in Las Vegas affords a part time college student. I lived on the back side of the complex. Anytime I had any issues like burnt out lights or something that was wrong, management did well to take care of it. The people in the office are friendly, supportive and give the complex a family atmosphere almost like you've known these people for years and are a trusted friend. I recommend this to students becuase it is on a bus line, it is close to the highways. They are adding another access ramp to the interstate, so it is a bit hectic going north yet this doesn't deter from my experience at Wildflower. They have improved it over what it was years ago from what I have been told. The reason for the 9 out of 10 rating is becuase the place is NOT gated other than that its gets a thumbs up from me. Remember this isn't a luxury place, it is affordable and that's tough in the area in which it sits below Summerlin.

Its an okay place if youre single & dont want to pay alot, but Maint is lazy and when you force them to work they do a half assed job and or give you another crappy appliance. Manager is a nice guy but doesnt really care about current tenants when it comes to replacing things. Security is good ...no real problems here but i must warn you...you will be surrounded by drunks and scummy looking & smelling people, you might even see people going through the dumpster from time to time
