I leased a one bedroom apartment here (in April) for 1 year because the management said that was the minimum. Thank God I was able to break the lease without going to court! The A/C didn't work at all, and it got so hot in my unit I felt sick after 3 months. Although this is a safer area than some affordable areas in LV, drug traffic is rampant here. I must say the neighbors were pleasant, although the management is totally unaware and very lax about security. A non-resident asked for a key to "his" apartment without I.D., and it was MINE! I was at home then, and everything turned out OK afyter confronting him, but I moved immediately! The pool and grounds are nice, as is the jacuzzi and sauna. Too bad the management is beyond lax!

I lived here for 13 months. The location is near the strip, and not to far from the shops and banks on Maryland Parkway. The complex only opens to Paradise Road so it's not as gang infested as its neighbors, but it's still not a safe neighborhood. Not a good place to be if you have children or if you own anything valuable. Police presence is constant. Lots and pimps and hookers live here, and more were moving in during my last days here. The place really started to feel unsafe. When I moved in they claimed to have 24 hour security, but security doesn’t show up every night. Management turnover is high. Some personnel are courteous and professional, others incompetent and rude. The staff is always new and not well trained, so the service is terrible. The always arrive late and leave early, 9 to 6 is more like 9:30 to 5:45 (5:00 on weekends). They don't always do repairs, or sometimes only after repeated requests. My front door was warped, outside air, dust, and bugs leaked into my apartment the entire time I was there and they never replaced the door despite my repeated requests. The maintenance staff is excellent when they are permitted to make repairs. Breakdowns were common. The buildings are over 30 years old and have not been well maintained. The water system in my building was being repaired the entire time I was there. Frequently there was no hot water, or limited water pressure. There are 3 pools in the complex, but only one is kept in working order at all times. The other 2 aren’t kept clean and one was locked by the health department at one point. Still I renewed my lease because the location was near my work. When my lease came up the second time wanted $20 a month more than they charge new arrivals. That was the last straw. I never would have moved in if I’d known how bad the service would be, and I’ll never rent from Con Am again. Also: as of this writing the minimum lease for new arrivals is 9 months, extremely long for Las Vegas.

Las Palomas is not a good place to live in. We have been here for a little over 2 years and the management is not good at all everything is old in the appartment, paint, carpet and refrigerator. We had to buy our own frigerator because they would not replace it when it broke down, you know how much it sucks to have no food for a week and have to go out until we get a new fridge. The management are rude and they like to yell at you and critisize you and even call you names. AND LOTS OF COCKROACHES!!!!! They try to bomb the place and it never works.

I lived here for a year and during the summer months the A/C went out in the entire east building and it was not repaired until October when it started to cool off! We reported this to every including the regional office in San Diego-(certified mail) and still never recieved a response. Even the news stations would not do a story on it but at least we reported it to the BBB. At the time of move in everything was fine, but it fell apart after that. Originally the utilities were included in the rent and in the middle of the lease they began charging everyone for electir that was supposed to be included. Needless to say everyone in my buili=ding that I knew moved out. DO NOT RENT OR LEASE FROM CON AM MANAGEMENT- THEY ARE CORPORATE SLUMLORDS!
