I've lived in this complex for many years and everything on this review website is true and all other ones i've found are true as well. This management company is very underhanded. They have never had their tenant's best intersts in mind. They are rude and unpleasant to deal with and I, as well as many others just ignore or walk to the other side of the side walk if we see them coming. Their apartments are less then average and I've lived in several different units within this complex and each one has had ATLEAST one flood. They use white spray paint to cover up mold on baseboards. Lots of roaches (probably from all the floods) and their "handymen" are at best below average and extremely overworked. I've actually become friends with two handymen here over the time i've lived here and was told by both that they are required to live on property as a job requirement just so the management staff can use the threat of immediate eviction and job termination as a means to keep them in line( sounds like someone needs a union deligate lol). I will say this, the appearance is very nice, well maintained landscaping, I would definitely recommend the landscaping company they use. Now back to the apts, all the appliances are very old and work some of the time. My recent dishwasher floods the kitchen almost every time i use it. I complained but they blamed it on "hard water" and there was nothing they could do and refused to replace it so i just let the kitchen flood several times a week, what do i care i dont own it. When I first moved in here back in 2003 they advertised a steam sauna which was very nice amenety to have, unfortunity it was broken and stayed broken for the next two years till they turned it into a closet, Yet they still advertised it, and every time i asked when it would be availble they stated it was being fixed or they were waiting for a part or another excuse. The outdoor hottub/spa has been broken for the last year, only one jet works and it has a leak so the water level is always low , and don't forget the sometimes green tint to the water of the hot tub and pool and the fishy smell that comes with that..lastly and most recent, they were too cheap or lazy to put proper screens on all their unit's windows, so instead they just screwed the screens to the window frame, can you say fire hazard?? I know the fire inspector that showed up did! Infact by doing that they actually screwed teh screen into my window so it wouldnt' open at all, I'm extremely glad there was never a fire because we would have possibly been trapped and we have children living here. But here's the kicker, when the window glass broke from trying to open one of the screwed closed windows, the management company actually passed the bill on to me. Ya I dont think so, passed that right on down the line to my business attorney and wrote to the property owner greenlawn properties.

Lastly i'm sure your maybe thinking I must be a previous tenent that was kicked out from not paying rent and am now I'm trying to get back at them. In all due honesty I've lived here for a total of four years and have never been late let alone missed a monthly payment. Im moving out this month after honoring my full lease term and only stayed this long because i worked at the ambulance company right across the street, can't beat that 33 second drive to work everyday. I'm writing this so people have something to think about when they are contimplating renting here. The landscaping is nice but for this kind of money i would say find a better place where the previous and present tenants have something decent to say about the joint. Cuz trust me its not worth the headache.

Moved in to this dump on September of 2004. At first they had showed us a very nice apartment and then rented us another apartment that the doors were not even, the rug had a soapy film on it, the oven door is uneven, the ice box freezer's ice maker leaks, the blinds are dirty and broken, they have a so called security person who is drunk most of the time, their rental reps. are very rude and they should not be working at this kind of employment. I've had my vehicle broken into several times and reported it to the management who didn't give a damn. They will carpet clean apartments above you at the insane hour of 11:30 pm. Their mantaince personal, whom I don't turst, sit around all day doing nothing but bullshiting with their friends. When asked to do repairs it takes them about 2 to 3 months to do the repairs, and this after you pester the leasing agent about 8 to 9 times to have them do the repairs. All they want is your money for the rent and do NOTHING AT ALL FOR THEIR TENANTS!!!! The Management Company who runs this DUMP should be fined for being inept...
I would not reccommed this DUMP even to a homeless person..I seen better housing conditinon in IRAQ and in Third World countries. This place should be condened by the Housing Authority.. Shut down and torn down to make way for a parking lot. The Leasing agents should go to work at a Seven-Eleven or a Taco Bell but I don't think they have enough smarts to be empolyed there anyway.
We are moving out of this DUMP ASAP. If you are looking for an apartment to move into, sure as hell stay away form this complex or you'll be sorry!!!I never in my life have seen so inept leasing agents here in Las Vegas, and I have lived in q few complexes since I've moved here to Vegas about 15 years ago.
Dig this, They offered us back our deposit but it will take them 30 days to get it. So in the mean time, we have to suffer here. Also, if they try to say that we broke the lease, they will have a very BIG LAW SUIT ON THEIR HANDS...
What happens in Vegas does not necessarly STAY IN VEGAS. You can bet on that. And to the Agents or Management Company who reads this coments,I hope that you all get fired and be replaced by a machine because a machine is more human that you are...That's all I have to say about this Dump and Management Personnel..You can Stuff This Complex Where The Sun Don't Shine.....

Pissed-off at Mayan Plaza Apartment...

the pool area was a mess. I spoke with other residents and they said that the pool was shut down by the health department and had been closed for over a month. It is my understanding that it still had not been opened by 7/1/04 because it failed the health dept inspection. terrible smell of garbage, junk cars in the parking lot. Feral stray cats urinating all over the small courtyard area. Junk mail and papers overflowing from trash receptacle in front of the office. Overall impression was negative. Unprofessional and unimformed management staff. The security gate consisted of a wooden board over the driveway. It was broken off and laying on the pavement. General appearance was that of being barely maintained. STAY AWAY

Upon my April 2004 arrival at Mayan Plaza I was "stupified" by the overall decline in the appearance of the complex. My 1st visit was in March 2003 and the ambiance was much different! The neighbors were pleasant and clothed, the grounds were kept, the sprinkler system worked, the entrance gate was NOT broken in half and laying on the ground, I didn't see cockaroaches in the bathrooms and the fitness room didn't smell like a "jockstrap". It was obvious to me that the deteriation of the place is escalating. The new management is oblivious to their renters needs and rights. The pool was condemmed by the Health Dept. the staff lies to their renters regarding the status of the pool. The water main leaks perfusely thus encouraging mold growth...or should I say, "more mold growth". On my walk to the management office I was showered by broken sprinklers spewing water like a geyser and had the pleasure of the effervescent aroma of cat urine and dog feces... In closing, the management staff leaves alot to be desired or undesired as it were! I don't know, if they are pathalogical liers or if they truly have the collective IQ of a pimento!

we first came to see the Mayan plaza apartment complex because they were listed as a front page property by Apartment Guide. we were shown a very nice model apartment and were told ours would be larger but generally the same, so we decided to move in. When we first got inside our own apartment, there were ants crawling everywhere, the toilet was broken and wouldn't flush, the sink leaked all over under the cabinet, the door fell off the bathroom, the bathtub was moldy, there are no windows anywhere in the apartment (unlike the model we were shown), the air conditioning broke three times in the first week, the bathroom sink water was not hooked up, the refrigerator runs constantly, causing an unreal electricity bill, several lights were not working, the balcony screen was broken, and most of the appliances are damaged or broken. We tried to get out of our lease about a week after moving into this infested trash dump and were told that there was absolutly no way to get out of it and that we would have to pay the rent for our entire 13 month lease ( we were never told they offer a 6 month lease) whether we lived here or not. So we are stuck here for the next 7 months in a horrible place where we don't even feel safe because the security guard at the gate shows up about once a month and the gate is broken most of the time allowing anyone to enter, there were even people digging through the trash dumpsters. I would reccomend to stay as far away from this complex and its surrounding area to anyone looking for an apartment in las vegas, it may be cheap but you will pay if you move here.

Upon moving in, there was a fine soapy powder that rose from the carpet, as well as an overflowing toilet, grease all over the walls and structural damage. I had to stay in a hotel the first night of my lease. Even after respiratory problems and a severe rash caused by the soapy powder in the carpet (with doctor verification and photographs), they never corrected the problem. Finally, 6 weeks into the lease, the apartment was still uninhabitable so I moved out and filed a lawsuit against them. They deviously counter-sued for me "breaking the lease" and the judge nullified any award, causing me to lose my security deposit as well as $500 in storage fees for my furniture (that I couldn't move in until the powder issue was corrected) and all kinds of other expenses that I incurred. I had several neighbors with other problems, including flooding, an actual fire in the freezer, and other problems. Mayan Plaza baited and swiched me by showing me a beautiful model apartment and then moving me into a dump which they never made habitable. And then, after 6 weeks of hell, I finally left the aprtment for my own health and they proceeded to steal my security deposit and all the rent and expenses I had prepaid. They should be investigated and shut down!
