Yes, this town is mandatory if you're going to see the dam. You don't even really need to buy the dam tour. Boulder City's dam museum immerses you in the workers' experience and the cafe is great for lunch.

I never thought I'd be interest in a Dam, but I was. Even for the most technically challenged, the history of the Dam and how it was build it interesting. The area around the dam is rugged desert and beautiful in a strange way. This is a great tour to take.
