- Good What a welcoming oasis of art in the middle of the desert! The new director gave the museum a brand-new direction: contemporary art. It makes sense, for a city that just celebrated its 100 anniversary deserves to have a quality contemporary art museum. Unlike the mediocre “contemporary” shopping-mall-gallery art done by previous curators, the current art exhibited at the museum is both museum quality (collected by MOMA, Guggenheim, and many other major institutions of art world wide) and interesting. For example, the current exhibition of Kaz Oshiro takes inspirations from Duchamp, alludes to Judd and Warhol, and revives trompe-l'oeil traditions.

- Undecided WHAT A WASTE OF PUBLIC FACILITIES!- I've been following the events at the Las Vegas Art Museum
for years now and have dropped my membership due the curator's lack of vision, the Museum
Board's lack of direction, and their continually failed outreach for other sources of support. They
have a very good space, are supported by the city, and yet THEY HAVE DROPPED THE BALL! We
have become a world class city and almost nothing is put into developing an exciting schedule of
exhibitions. Strictly low-ball commerial work here. The fine arts going public needs to know when
not to waste their time.
