The Museum, founded in 2003, is a privately funded, non-profit organization. It moved to its current location in the Neonopolis in 2008 and presently features over 20,000 square feet of exhibit area, with a main gallery, a special exhibitions gallery, and a small works gallery. The SNMFA Emporium provides exhibit space for local, regional and International artists to display their current work. In addition a expansion into a 10,000 sq. ft. adjacent space is planned which will include a large exhibition gallery dedicated to large works including installation art and free-standing sculpture.
