This is a great bargain at $1.50 for adults and $1.00 for seniors and children.
My favorite part is the historic homes you can go inside, and see how people lived in the 50's,40's,30's, and earlier. The wedding chapel is also a treat, and the railroad cars, depot, caboose are great, too. The ghost town is great for steam-punk fans, and I always see a jackrabbit and roadrunner on the grounds, when I walk through there. A delightful winter escape from the usual Las Vegas hubbub.

This museum is EXCELLENT. One of the things I enjoy is walking down the "Street" where the old homes are located--some of the homes of the early Las Vegas residents (1920--1940) homes have been relocated and furnished in original furnishings. The staff members are friendly and helpful. The admission fee is very reasonable. I've visited this museum 4 or 5 times & it's a MUST-SEE for friends and relatives who visit me here in Las Vegas.

This museum is located out in a very nice area of Henderson, it costs a reasonable $1.50 for admission. First off, the staff was very nice on our visit and there were probably only 4 other people touring it. There is a small indoor walk-thru museum with Nevada exhibits from different time periods up to the present. Outside, there are authentic old west ghost town buildings that they brought in and you can walk through. There is a also a nature walk where you may spot different animals. But the best part was the remade main street. Fantastic! They brought in and fixed up old houses from different decades. You can go in all of them, including a tiny trailer, and they are filled with exhibits, some talking ones that start up as you walk by. There is also a train you can go through and some workshops. The main street is peaceful and green, very pretty, almost eery. With the houses filled with mannequins and antiques, and also bomb shelters and gas masks. This is a very underrated museum, it was really interesting and worthwhile.

This museum is excellent and well worth the dollar-fifty admission price. Children will enjoy the hands on displays and most of the posted informational signs can be read quickly. The only part I found disappointing is the nature walk and farm/mining machinery display. The houses along Heritage Street are wonderful and do a nice job showing the lifestyle changes from the early 1900's through the 60's. Make the trip, it's worth it.
