Grand Canyon National Park
2 Albright Ave., Grand Canyon, AZ 86023 520-638-7888
Named the greatest natural wonder of the world, the Grand Canyon was formed over millions of years by the swift water of the Colorado River, as well as by constant exposure to the wind and sun. The result, miles of formations of rocks and earth, greets the eye in a profusion of striking colors and depths.

The Grand Canyon itself is breathtaking, you must see it but DO NOT book with
bestlasvegastours.com. These people are con men. We booked a West rim bus, boat
and helicopter tour. The helicopter ride was about eight minutes both ways. The
pontoon boat cruise was 18 mins (I timed it) so basically you are paying an
additional $150 per person for 26 mins. The quality of lunch was poor. There
were too many switches of buses eating up time such that we had to rush through
our day to make it back on time to go back to Vegas. We did not get to see all
points of interest as promised by this tour company. On the bus ride my party of
eight were at the front of the line so we got to pick our seats and my dad and
cousin each sat by the window. My cousin was rudely told to move to sit with my
dad so that a married white couple could sit together, this was not a request it
was a demand. There were no reserved seats, it should be first come first
served. The tour operator had a shouting match with my dad (my dad was already
angry that they had deceived us about pricing and wrongly booked our tour) and
threatened to call the police and remove my dad from the bus because he refused
to move. My dad never did anything antisocial or use swear words, he was simply
standing up for his rights. I have never seen such an outright form of
discrimination towards my family in my life. He had ruined eight people's
experience of the Grand Canyon. Horrible customer service and poorly constructed
tour.

What can be said about the Grand Canyon? Awesome, breath taking, amazing? These words only just begin to describe the Grand Canyon! Booked online inadvance through Look tours. From pick up to drop off eveything was on time and professional. Our driver was funny and very informative about the history of Las Vegas, Hoover Dam (which was included in this trip) and of course the feature itself. Went on the skywalk, was a bit dissapointed that we couldn't take pictures, the reason being that they want you to pay $30 for their own guy to take pictures of you instead. Lunch at the Ranch was good, eat there the cornbread was excellent.

I just returned off a great day out at the Grand Canyon with my wife. We looked through all the
different companies and couldnt seem to see who did what and what rim was best. So, we booked on
the internet with 1st Las Vegas Grand Canyon Tours ( i think that s the name - so confusing). We did
the Grand Canyon South Rim National Park Bus Tour as it was under 100 bucks each and we had been
told the same tour costs $180 in the hotels. It was a full day from 7am to 9pm but it was awesome. A
comfortable bus and good food, but, most of all Ron our driver made the day. He was fun and seemed
to know so much about the canyon. He seemed like he loved hio s job . Good job Ron. So here's a link
to their site if you want to cut through the mess of info out there. <A

DO NOT book through Vision Tours!! The experience with them was horrible. They pick you up at the hotel almost 2 hours before the flight and you wait at least 1 1/2 hours in there facility before boarding the plane. For our honeymoon we did the The 3 in 1 West Rim Air & Ground Voyager Adventure Tour. Once we arrived at the canyon we waited another hour to board the helicopter. Because of all the waiting time we were unable to view all aspects that were included in the tour. When they say lunch on the rim, they mean that they give you a box lunch before you board the plane and you eat it when you want. We were very disappointed by the the so called tour (no guides) and were rushed the entire time. Their motto should be "Hurry up and wait"

If at all possible DO NOT book through Vision Tours!! We had a terrible experience with them. They pick you up at the hotel almost 2 hours before the flight--and you wait at least 1 1/2 hours in a small boarding area at an outlying airport. Our tour flight was delayed because their tour leader overstayed 90 minutes on the previous tour that morning. We lost our early evening plans as a result. They refused our request for a refund after we had been sitting at their "facility" for over 2 1/2 hours. Then, they cut oour time at the Grand Canyon by an hour and rushed us through when there.
It isn't a tour. There isn't tour guide. Just a flight. There is no fly over of the Grand Canyon so you get no perspective of the size from the air, but rather just the west fork. The "cruise" on the Colorado River is a 200 yard up and back on a pontoon boat.

We took the Grand Adventures Tour. IT WAS GREAT!! They delivered exactly as they promised . . . prompt pickup, breakfast at Mickey D's, Lunch on the trail, pictures, all as promised in the ad. It is a small company doing groups of less than 10 (we had 7 in our group). The only way to go!

Don't go to the new Eagle's Point Skywalk if you expect to take photographs. They don't let you take your camera out on the Skywalk. NOT COOL. One of the biggest reasons to go way out there is to take photographs out on the skywalk.

We took that Grand-Adventures.com tour and what a whip it was. Hands down the best tour me and my family have ever taken in our lives! We thought the food was just fantastic which we were not expecting at all. It seems to me that they are probably the best kept tour secret in Las Vegas right now. I'm glad I found this site and then found them because this was easily the best experience we had in Las Vegas. The CD slideshow is better then a professional job too. We watched those they put up on the website and thought it was a trick that they just put the good ones up. We were shocked when ours came and was just as good if not better then the ones on the site. I'd easily go back to the Grand Canyon again with them the tour was so good.

We booked our tour through Grand-Adventures.com and had an awesome tour. It ended up being the highlight of our trip to Vegas and I'd recommend them to EVERYONE. I read all of the comments on here about LookTours, Vision, and Grand Canyon Tour Company before booking our tour. I found these guys and wouldn't have had so many of you not shared your experiences here. So, thanks for that.
Grand Adventures picked us up at 6:15 (was on time!) and we were in a small group of eight people. They specialize in small group tours and we loved it. It was very personal, we got a really nice picnic, and they mailed us a very nice CD slideshow after our trip. Their tour guide took pictures all day and they mailed us these pictures. It was a little annoying at times but you'll forget all of that when you get your CD. They are extremely professionally done.

DO NOT BOOK WITH SHOWTIME TOURS!!!!!!
In accordance with the instructions on my E-Travel-Document from Fun Jet, I called Showtime Tours (702-895-9976) at 10:21 am Las Vegas time on 5/25/2007 to receive the specific pick up location and time for our Grand Canyon South Rim Day Tour on Saturday, 5/26/2007.
Anne Black of Showtime then informed me that Showtime no longer conducts Grand Canyon tours on the weekend and that our tour had been cancelled. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was refused and told that a supervisor would tell me the same thing. I was quite irate since this trip was confirmed on 5/14/2007 and Showtime Tours made no effort to inform those with pre-purchased weekend tours that they would not be conducting tours on the weekend. I was then given a telephone number and told that I would have to call for a refund.
Fortunately, my travel agent saved the day and our vacation by setting us up for a Grand Canyon tour with another, more reliable, tour company for the very same day. If it had not been for her our vacation would have been ruined.
Imagine my surprise when we were exiting the gift shop at Bright Angel Lodge at the south rim of the Grand Canyon...and what should be parked out front but a large tour bus with the Showtime Tours logo. I snapped several digital images to prove that they were indeed conducting a weekend tour at the Grand Canyon.
I will tell everyone I know that to avoid Showtime Tours like the plague.

The Grand Canyon is without a doubt one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. One word of caution ... DO NOT USE LOOK TOURS / VISION TOURS!!!! The bus driver left me and a friend, along with another couple from our bus, at the first canyon stop and took off for the second stop with the rest of the bus. This showed a complete lack of interest in our safety, well-being and enjoyment. We watched the bus drive off (so we were late getting back to the bus by a total of 1 minute) and assumed he was making a u-turn of some sort. But he in fact was just leaving us at the canyon. After contacting the company to complain, he came back to get us and cracked jokes about it for hours afterwards. The Grand Canyon, at least for me, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and Look Tours didn't do much at all to add to this one-day experience. The other drivers at the stop (from other tour companies) were mortified and couldn't believe a driver would take off w/ out his paying passengers. We're not children and didn't need to be shown a lesson.

After many visits to Vegas it was my first trip to the canyon and I'm annoyed with myself that I hadn't gone before. It's an amazing place! Loved the visitor centre and had a one on one chat with a canyon expert/guide. Bought lots of books and was given lots of booklets for my nephew back in the UK. Definitely not to be missed!

The Grand Canyon itself was breathtaking, and I'm thrilled we saw it. I knew it was a 14 hour drive there and back, and we were prepared for a long day. Our tour company was Vision Holidays, booked though Look Tours. We were picked up at an area hotel at 6:10, for a 7:30 tour. We were brought to the Vision Holidays offices where we waited for 20 minutes before being loaded onto different buses. The tour company's website mentioned coffee and pastries for "early birds". The so called "pastry" was a packaged, sugar coated honey bun, that had a horrible aftertaste. The ride to the canyon was fine. The bus stopped once (at a gas station) so we could stretch our legs and get a bite to eat. We then stopped for a free buffet lunch at the Quality Inn hotel in a small town just outside of the Grand Canyon. This was the worse buffet experience of my life! To say it was bad would be a major understatement!!! If you're going on this tour, bring a lunch! I kicked myself afterwards for not noticing the Wendy's beside the hotel. We headed to the Canyon after lunch, only to sit in traffic for an hour waiting to enter the park. Once there, we had an hour and a half in total, at two locations within the site. We had enough time to walk around, do some souvineer shopping and get something to eat. We departed the Canyon around 4:30, for what we thought would be a 4 hour drive back to Vegas. Shortly after departing the Canyon we had a 20 minute rest stop at a gas station. I thought this wasn't really necessary as we had only been on the road for 15 minutes or so. We had another 20 minute rest break about 2 hours later. The driver showed two movies on the way home. The first was a major motion picture (a comedy) that contained some swearing and many references to sexual acts. I'm no prude and thought the movie was OK, but there were small children on the bus, and was a little surprised the tour company would show such a movie knowing that children were on their tours. The second feature, was essentially the red-neck comedy hour, where the bus was forced to endure the comedy stylings of four red-neck comedians (the usual sexist, homophobic routines). I think the driver chose features to keep himself entertained, rather than the guests. Everyone on the bus had been up since 5 a.m. or so, and the only thing people wanted to do on the way back was sleep. Attention Vision Holidays...lose the movies! The point to all this...the Canyon is certainly worth seeing, but be wary of the tour company.
We rented a car a drove to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon on the Indian resevation. I'll never do it again! The directions only mentioned a 14 mile dirt road. This was more than a dirt road people. It was the road from hell. Very large rocks were everywhere. This road could destroy a new car in a matter of hours. Do not take this route. It is terrible.
When we got to the canyon, we were treated very badly. Bad attitudes were everywhere. We were given the impression that the overlook was open to the public. It's not. You can take the bus tour for $39 per person, air ride for $152 per person or drive yourself for $16 per person. They are there to take your money people. We decided to drive ourselves.
It had been raining when we arrived but they sold us the tickets anyway without mentioning a word about the weather. We were charged $16 PER PERSON just to look off one small section of the canyon. We drove to the view point, and got out of the car to look. We looked for about 10 minutes when it started to rain again. We got in the car and waited for about 30 minutes for the rain to stop. The female guard at the gate drove up and told us we had to leave because of the rain. We could not get a refund either! What a waste of time and money. From now on, I'll just look at pictures of the Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon itself was spectacular. If you go do not use Vison air or any of their affiliates. Had I not contacted them the night before we would have missed it. They changed the pick up point and did not tell us. In addition the tour was delayed by a good hour and a half, (plane difficulty) but they still brought us back at the specified time, so they just cut that part out of the trip. Had the tour been inexpensive, I guess I might understand, but it was high and I expected better service.

The canyon itself was the most awesome thing I have ever experienced. The bad news is that I flew Vision Air booked through Look Tours. We were 120 people jammed into a room with a sign indicating that max number of occupants was 85. Obviously, there was not enough seating, so many had to stand. We waited through an over an hour and a half delay without explanation. Ten minutes before we took off, they finally told us that the planes would be there shortly. My airplane window was scratched and had some kind of greasy stain on it making it difficult to take pictures. Once we had landed by the canyon, the bus part of the tour was excellent. The bus was clear, the driver friendly and knowledgeable. However, twice (based on info from our Vision Air friends) we had to change our activities. First they said the plane for our return trip was delayed. So we went to another stop. We were there 5 minutes when we were told we had to leave right away to meet the planes. When we got to the airport, we had to wait for 40 minutes because there were no planes! Finally, even though they were supposed to drop us off at our hotel (the Aladdin), we were told we had to get off at Belagio and walk back - of course it was raining at the time. So, definitely, get to the Grand Canyon - just find another tour operator.

My father, wife and I decided to take a helicopter tour from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. We chose Papillion Tours ($269 per person) and had a great time. They picked us up from the hotel on time. While driving to the Las Vegas airport, we watched a safety video. Once at the airport, we checked in and had a reasonable wait (about 15-20 minutes) prior to boarding the helicopter. The pilot was friendly and very informative. It was obvious that he enjoyed his job and this is what really made the trip. Everyone was friendly and we had a great time!

The Grand Canyon was awesome, not much more to be said but as to the Tour Operator... well thats a different story.
We went with 'Look Tours'. After picking us up at 07:10 for an 08:30 flight we were still standing around ina hotel at 08:45, miles from the airport. No-one seemed to have a clue what was supposed to be happenning. The fight was advertiesed as 1 h 25 minutesbut we were back on the ground in lesss than an hour. Also charged $10 each for fuel costs which they don't tell you until you arrive at the desk. Bloody cheek! If this had been the UK I would have made a scene but I was on holiday so I decided to chill.
Choose a better Tour company and the trip would be great
