Our visit was free because we stayed at the hotel - if we had to pay the full price, I am not sure I would have ranked it as high. Do to the age of the tower (it was leaking in 4 spots that I saw too) and the other attractions in town, the hotel probably needs to come down on the price to visit the tower (the ride costs look reasonable). I saw some reviews on how rude the bartender was at the bar, but I really liked the bartender I had. He knew the view was scary for me and he talked me into being comfortable enough to go to the window. He has been at the tower since it opened and was extremely friendly. We went at sunset which was spectacular. The view is wonderful and if you can get a deal on the visit, you should include it on your list of things to do.

Nice view of the strip and crazy thrill rides on top! Me and my group were kinda freaked out by a crack in the glass on the observation deck. I really hope they get that fixed lol.

Very good view of Vegas! But they didn't have any signs telling what direction you are looking at or what you are looking at. I didn't go on any of the rides, too scary those people are crazy!

Absolutely fantastic view of the city/strip. We stayed up there quite awhile. The only ride we rode was Big Shot, and that was enough! We bought the picture from the ride due to my expression alone. It was slightly windy that night, but didnt spoil it. We watched while other patrons did the other rides. The only one I wouldnt waste time or money on is the roller coaster. I couldnt talk hubby into trying X Scream or Insanity. He couldnt deal with dangling off the side of a building so many feet off the ground. Maybe next time...... I think the view from the top of the Strat is a must see. Depending on what time of day you go, be prepared for a wait (but I definitely recommend going at night of course). We were in line for awhile, but it moved at a steady pace. Overall, this was well worth the cab ride down to that end of the strip.

Security was tight but the line moved well. Got to the top quickly. The view was AWESOME. The mountain view was great, & we watched the planes land at the airport. We got in free because we did a time share presentation & turned down their offer after the presentation was over. It was part of the prizes for attending. Would never do the rides at the top but would visit the top for the view over & over again because the view is absoulutly spectacular.

YIKES! Even rollercoaster enthusiasts get wobbly knees when contemplating this one. The Tower view: Awesome, day or night & NOT TO BE MISSED.
X~Scream: a short track coaster that dumps you over the edge of the sky pod. Sounds scarier than it actually is.
Big Shot: the daddy of all drop rides. Truly one of the most extreme thrill rides in the world. Don't eat before getting on.
High Roller: yes it's a kiddie coaster but at nearly a thousand feet up it's the world's highest and, therefore, a must for coasties.
Insanity: you'd have to have a few loose screws to get on this brain blender that frappes you senseless while hovering 1000ft above traffic.
Overall, it's $30 dollars for an all day pass and well worth it. If possible... do all of the above in the morning then do it again at night for a totally different experience.

The Stratosphere tower has to be one of Vegas's best attractions I went to while I was there. The tower itself had a great view from about 1,300ft up. I have seen the Stratosphere's ride the Big Shot on the travel channel many times for being a great thrill ride and it was. The free fall was amazing and the g-forces on your body were like any other ride I have ever been on. At the time I was up there the high roller, roller coaster had broken down so I didn't get a chance to go on that but all three other rides were open. The newest ride up there was Insanity and it looked like it would be really intense but it wasn't too bad once it got going. The only thing about the ride was that took 10 MINUTES for it to get people on, go through the ride, and then get off. If your don't like getting dizzy don't go on this ride! The machine is great but it still needs work. It is takes rather long while taking you over the edge and the design for the handrails was pretty bad. Once you are there you will see what I am talking about. On the other hand X-Scream is the best thrill ride I have ever been on and the ride was the most intense thrill ride I have ever been on in my life. I love thrill rides alot but for the first time this one actually scared me. I knew the thing was fast but not this fast (Launches off the side at 35mph and stops within less than a second). The ride also featured a slight drop and for the little room that it had it made your stomach drop alot. I went on it twice and I don't think I could of done it again that day because that ride was mind blowing. Whoever invented this ride was clearly out of there mind and I really don't want to see what they come up with next. Overall the Stratosphere was amazing and it was worth every penny. A quick reminder the best package was the XTREME PACKAGE and it featured an all day pass on all the rides with tower admission.

Excellent attraction even for ground lovers like us. Having our children see us live on the web cam at midnight at the top was cool. This attraction is worth going up twice (day and night) to see the different views.

It's nice to visit at least once. We went so my 12 year old daughter could do the rides. She hated the roller coaster, "It's like a kiddie ride". She loved the Big Shot and X-Scream! We watched her from inside the tower, she waved at us as the X-Scream rolled over the edge. The view is fabulous and I bet it's gorgeous in the evening too!

Finally made it to the top of the Stratosphere on our 4th trip to Vegas. Was just about to pay $8 apiece for 4 tickets when the person in line in front of me told me to join the Player's Club for free passes. Security was tight, but the view was worth it. We stayed for a fair bit of time. Next time, we'll go up at night!

Stayed in the hotel. Received a coupon at check in for $2 off. Wasn't offered free tower ride at club sign up. However, Sunday morning until 11am they offer free admission for hotel guests. Wouldn't have know if the clerk hadn't asked if we were staying. Wonderful views. Would love to visit again at sunset.

It was a daughter and dad day and we wanted to see the Strat Big Shot & X-scream along with the tower view. 1st, you will wait about 45 minutes after you buy your tickets to go through the security line before you get on the elevator to the tower and the rides themselves. Go on the Big Shot first so you can see what the highest point in Vegas has to offer. We were there before midnite so the view was the best while waiting for the ride and while on the ride itself. Next the X-scream...I call it the "teater totter roller coaster" track. You sit in a roller coaster type seat and then the platform lifts and tilts so you glide 25 feet over the edge of the Strat's tower. The cars stop before you fly off the end of the track and you may get to do this three more times before the ride ends. Each time as the cars reach the end of the track the platform tilts back so you are back to the beginning of the ride. While we were waiting to go on a number of people refused to get on the ride making the line move faster. I might go on the Big Shot again but one time is enough for the X-Scream for me.

Cool! A must-see attraction in Las Vegas.

I am a thrill seeker, so I love this place. I finally got my wife on the Big Shot. That is the absolute best thrill. A combo of the ride and being 1000 feet in the air make for a great thrill. The coaster is aweful - they even tell you to ride that first so you do not have a let down. The new extream is different. I sat in the front row staring down at the IHOP sign. It is really not an extream ride, just a ride that reminds you - what if.... Heck , we all do that on a plane evertime we fly. In otherwords, it is not as scary as it looks. Stay on the Big shot, that is the best!!!!!

Is it a better view than the Voodoo Lounge at Rio? Who knows. Get yourself outside as its not too well sign posted. The faces of the "brave fools" who go on the new ride that actually dangles you off the edge of the tower is hilarious!

Its a FAR walk from the ticket booth to the elevator, but they do warn you! If your like us have difficulty walking distances, be warned! Then in security, waiting for the elevator and up top, there is NO PLACE to sit! There are a few benches up top but people park on them for hours! It was our Wedding Day and we were all dressed up, I went into the little photo booth to sit, or I would have sat on the FLOOR! The elevator attendant was not interested in making sure parties did not get split up and the Scream shook the whole tower! But overall the view is amazing! The lights go to the edge of the city and just stop! Don't bother trying to take pictures with a 35mm, the flash reflects off the glass, it's just something to savor and never forget!

this is a must for anyone going to vegas for the first time. Great view of the entire strip and the whole city for that matter. Take advantage of happy hour in their beautiful lounge. Just do not drink too much before getting on the big shot.

The Big Shot was an incredible rush, and I'd recommend that everyone (in good health) try it at least once. It is quite scary so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a heart condition. The roller coaster wasn't very scary, but if you are afraid of heights, look out - you will be frightened!

If you have at least an hour to kill this is a great place to go. We went up there on 2 previous trips (pre & post 9/11), even after 9/11 we didn't have to wait long for the extra security. This time was unreal. I was so angry by the time we got up there I didn't even want to stay. The first 2 times we went you bought your tickets right near the entrance. Now it's no where near the entrance and your ticket is only good for one day. So by the time you realize how long the stinking line is it's too late. So we stood in line for at least 45 minutes with people smoking all around, drunk people being obnoxious and no where to run to. When we got to the security spot we realized what the hell took so long. It isn't security, it's these stupid photographers who grab you after you pass security and take a picture of you so super impose on a touched up photo from the top. Go around you say? NO, the only way out is through the photographers. I walked right through without letting them take my picture. I'm sure it costs a small fortune to buy it when you are done but I didn't stick around to find out. And THEN once you get past all of that crap you have to wait in yet another line to get on the damn elevator. It's infuriating the way they run that place now. It's $8 per person JUST TO GET UP THERE. If you want to go on the rides it's even more $. And they make you wait, and wait, and wait. We have always gone around the same time of night, shortly after dark and like I said we never had trouble until now. If you have ALOT of patience and time to kill go for it, the view is well worth the $ but I don't recommend bringing kids, there is no way they could handle the long wait.

When we went to buy the tickets, the ticket booth was not close to it and we ended up standing in line for a time share at first... then when we found the real ticket booth we bought our tickets the line was not to bad... then we went and stood in line to get to the tower, we had to empty our pockets and everything before we went up to the tower. It was a great view... i cant wait to go back, this time i want to go at night

Fantastic! If you only see one thing, you should see this at night.

The view was wonderful, but the High roller coaster was not that exciting. You spin around the perimeter of the tower a few times and that's it. We probably wouldn't return due to location on the strip. We would probably just view Vegas from the Eiffel Tower instead.

The price is overpriced, but hey you are in Vegas right?? Big Shot is GREAT!! I'd skip the coaster next time, not scary at all.

The view was great, but I was too wimpy to try the big shot. Overall the tower was just OK, considering the hype. Some people we met gave us their timeshare tickets for the ride to the tower, so the price was right.

My husband wanted to go on this thing. I am not fond of heights so if you have a fear, stay far away. He tells me that the rollercoaster is boring and might be okay for kids. The big shot scared even him.

RIDE THE BIG SHOT AT NIGHT AND IN THE DARK WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE ON THERE! DONT SCREAM JUST SAVOUR THE SILENTNESS AND THE VIEW! VERY FRIENDLY STAFF WHO LET YOU RIDE FOR FREE IF ITS EMPTY AND LATE.

Going up the tower is great for the view, but it's the Big Shot that really takes the cake! I always try to ride it every time I'm in Vegas. Have yet to do it at night, but that's next on the list!

If you're brave, don't hold on to the harness so tight.... you'll float out of your seat at the top. Quite a scary experience!

This attraction is not conveniently located to most of the hotels on the strip. The best way to get to the Stratosphere is to take a cab - if you don't want to pay the cab fares, you can take the Trolley that stops near or at most of the strip hotels for much less. The fare is very cheap.

When I visited the Stratosphere tower, it was a gorgeous April day. The skies were blue and there was absolutely no wind. It was heaven. I was in photographer's heaven. The Strat observation deck is a great way to see what is where on the strip. Its the first attraction I'd recommend to any new visitors to LAS to visit. To get to the top of the tower you of course must purchase a ticket. This involves a mazelike walk through the casino to the ticket desk - you can visit the observation deck alone or buy a combination ticket if you want to ride the roof top rides. My boyfriend wanted to ride the rides, so we purchased a combination that was a bit pricey. I was willing to pay for the view though. One my big complaints about this attraction and some of the others is the distance you have to walk through the hotel to get to your destination. To get to the elevators for the observation deck you have to walk all the way through the casino's shopping area - a bit of a walk. Once you get to the elevators - they take your picture for later purchase, and then whisk you up to the observation area. The elevators shake a little so if you are not fond of this, I dont recommend this attraction. Once you step off the elevator you enter an inside observation area. THe views are just amazing. From up there Vegas seems so small - you get not only great views of the strip but wonderful views of desert scenery and the mountains. I spent hours taking photos from there. I meant to check with the hotel to see if tripods were allowed but forgot. After we finally took enough pictures, we had a quick ride back down to the casino. Also, my boyfriend enjoyed the roller coaster ride as well.

This is definately worth the trip - this biggest downside to the Strat IMO is the neighborhood surrounding seems a little scary - I wouldn't recommend trying to walk there. We ate in the diner style restaurant that was there and it was very good also.
