We are both Soprano's fans and love going to various comedy shows around town. The was byt far one of the most entertaining shows that we"ve seen on date night. First we ate dinner and got to mingle with the characters. As they were not exactly like the characters in the HBO show and more of a take off on them, they were hillarious. Uncle Junior, Christopher and Adriana were spot on. They then walked us up to the showroom. The show was fast paced, tons of interaction, dancing but in the middle of it all they had scenes based on the series. Ha... were were all there because Tony got indicted and he was having a going away party. Anyways, if you like to get up and dance and don't mind interacting with the characters then it's for you...Soprano's fans or not... you're going to have a good time. They have a great band and some talented singers too. My girlfriend loved the improv... I liked Dee Dee Diamond... ha.. sorry hunny! <boston.rocco -at- hotmail.com> - Las Vegas NV USA - Added 07/03/08 - [72.193.112***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/08 Terrible show, plenty of better mentalist's out there, and I'm surprised Hooter's or any other Casino whats him in their showroom. Gerry Has no personality and thinks he's better than the audience. Not recommended by any means. <bloodbrothersmc -at- gmail.com> - USA - Added 07/01/08 - [70.173.153.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/08 Tony is GREAT! He's very personable and extremely talented! We came with our 2 girls ages 10 and 13. We came right at 8:00pm for dinner at the band starts at 9:00pm. It's fine for kids (10 yrs and up) for awhile but after 10:00 it gets a bit crazy. He came out to our table after his first set and talked with our girls and had his picture taken with them (made their vacation)! If you like country music and Toby Keith songs then YOU NEED TO COME AND SEE TONY AND THE BAND! We go about 4 times a year!!!!! <pwhite47 -at- gmail.com> - Orem UT USA - Added 06/28/08 - [76.27.93.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/08 My fiancee and I went to this show. We choose the later 8:00 show, the lack of time constraint is nice. The food is good, we both loved the soup. Even if you hate soup you should taste it. The rest of the food was good. I loved the dessert. Though if you don't like pepsi order a bar drink. I could feel the heat from the fire at one point which made me more of the show. The kings are all good looking guys, and the wenches are good for the guys to look at. There is a lot of subtle humor, and fun crowd particapation. For the people with asthma, and breathing issues, there is a warning on the ticket booth, the ticket and all that. I feel with that much forwarning you don't get the right to whine if you didn't go prepared. <jayderae -at- gmail.com> - Victoria TX USA - Added 06/27/08 - [74.192.62***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/08 I have seen 15 productions of Phantom at different cities & locations, but THIS production is different then the rest. The stage is modified and the libretto is cut some, but they make up for it with a couple of added surprised that other productions don't have & i'd never seen before. The cast was FANTASTIC and when we went in and saw the chandelier hanging sideways just above the audience, we were surprised it wasn't on the stage as it usually is for the opening. But there are some real surprises. I can't rave about this show enough. The cast is from Broadway, great singers and performers. I would tell anyone to see this show in a heartbeat. We saw Bette Midler the next night and was disappointed. This show was much better for the money. <ladybear -at- snowcrest.net> - USA - Added 06/25/08 - [209.232.210***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/07 It's BeAtLeMaNiA! :-) Saw this show last year and it still blew our socks off. The end is fantastic as is the first song. Loved the special effects and the cast really tries hard to get you involved & make you happy. If you love the Beatles, you will love this show. Get nosebleed seats. it's better to sit high up and look down on the action, you won't miss anything by doing that and in some ways, it makes it better for enjoying the show. Everybody wants to be near the stage, but for this show it's not necessary. All You Need Is Love! The performance was weak & relied heavily on the backup singers. At the beginning ,you would think in the early 50s part of the show especially he would be charged up & energetic. He just went through the motions. He made a drug remark that I think was out of character & not befitting the Elvis image."You may think I'm on drugs, you're right. This is the 70s Elvis, right." He tried to play the guitar & it sounded terrible.Only a few songs were good vocally, the rest he cut in & out ,where you could barely hear him. The band was fantastic, minus the drummer. The drummer never got those Ronnie Tutt Vegas beats in. Overall very disappointing.Clips on You Tube must have been altered quite a bit to sound half way decent. I just read another womans comment on here. She mentioned about him saying "having a band members birthday,& couldn't meet & greet."Was that a coincidence,(he said that when I was there on November 27th)or is it just something he says to get out of it?I'm sure it would not take more than 15 minutes of his time to greet the fans.I think,Vegas might still be open afterward. How come it says no longer performing in Vegas? Did they hopefully give him the boot, for his crappy lifeless perfromances. I think he got a few friends on here to rate him highly,or people who had not actually seen the Vegas show. <flappytclown -at- yahoo.com> - Los Angeles CA USA - Added 01/01/08 - [69.235.57.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/08 Got to see Elton for the first time in over 20 yrs. The Dude can still rock. It was a great show. If you don't get too hung up on the strange videos playing at times, or the the strange inflatables, it is great. just enjoy the music. I had tickets in the rear orch, sect6. they were great seats. used this code "levon" to get them at a discount. also, dont take your camera. they will take it away. <markharshman -at- templeinland.com> - Manor TX USA - Added 06/17/08 - [167.159.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/08 "Mystere" was the first Las Vegas show I saw AND my first viewing of a Cirque du Soleil live show. Subsequently, I have seen this show at least once on each of the 10 visits I have made to Vegas. There are many other excellent Vegas shows - including Cirque's other productions - but "Mystere" is truly special. (10 out of 10) "Mystere" is Cirque's most endearing show. Its acrobatics, dance, and visual/aural loveliness are all well-documented - it holds up well in repeat viewings, and watching characters in the background can be as much fun as the acts in the foreground. But more importantly it creates, more than any other Cirque show, a genuine bond between the audience and performers. If you sit on the ground floor, there's a good deal of audience interaction, sometimes as simple as performers clambering through the aisles, sometimes as elaborate as real audience participation. That brings us to the superb comedy, the element that puts the whole show over the top. The delightful preshow kicks off the audience/performer interaction. Within the show, characters that might be annoying in lesser hands - a giant baby, a prankish older gentleman - become endearing, even touching figures of fun. If you've never seen a Cirque show but would like to give it a try, already love Cirque, or just want to see something extraordinarily beautiful, this is an absolute must. <tomdoctress -at- yahoo.com> - USA - Added 05/28/04 - [72.34.3***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/08 Well, of course I didn't see the show in June of 08, but the fill-in-the-blank thingee only had two choices, 07 and 08. Caesars Magical Empire has been out of business longer than that. They took the magic empire out and put Celine Dion in its place. Next to the demolition of The Sands, it was the worst thing I saw happen in Las Vegas. While ordering dinner your server might do a trick. After dinner there would be various shows to see. In the center of a large atrium there was some sort of huge statue with occasional billowing fiery eruptions that soared 20 or 30 feet into the air. While you were waiting for a show to start you could hang out in the Spirit Bar, where a mysterious spooky piano played whatever song you mentioned. There was also a cool 20 or 30 foot long tunnel you could walk through that had some sort of spinning lights effect going on when you walked through it that made you feel like you were drunk or whatever. Off the huge atrium, there were entrances to various size rooms, some with elaborate stage set ups, some set up for close up magic. The shows were top notch for the most part. Also, while waiting, they would often have magicians circulating through the crowd doing close up magic. I had a magician grab me and do a bunch of close up tricks right before my eyes. It was incredible. He even did the thing where he stole my watch. The tickets were like $65, worth every dollar! <crimsulent -at- aol.com> - Ventura CA USA - Added 06/14/08 - [207.200.116.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 02/07 This is one of the best Las Vegas shows I have ever seen. The show is unoriginal and cheesy. Very surprised Planet Hollywood put that much money into such a show. We went to another magic show a year ago for like $30 and it had similar stuff but much better so not worth the money. This article, http://www.lvrj.com/neon/7219651.html, hits it pretty much on the head. <mfey1 -at- hotmail.com> - Omaha NE USA - Added 06/02/08 - [72.198.208.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/08 Celebrated my 60th birthday by seeing the CHER concert. I have been a fan since Sonny and Cher came on the scene and had always wanted to see her but didn't get the chance. She retired and I thought that was it, but then heard she was going to be in Vegas and got tickets. It was absolutely GREAT!! She is gorgeous and sings so GREAT. The show was so well done and fast paced and totally enjoyable. I could have sat there for 6 hours. Her costumes and videos and all of it was so enjoyable. She made my day so memorable. I recommend it to anyone who loves CHER, you won't be disappointed. IN A WORD THIS SHOW IS CHEESEY. I should have listened to the reviews like the one I'm writing now. The prizes were extremely cheap, hard to win and totally embarassing to be associated with the television version, its nothing like it. As well it appeared to me that 3 out of 4 people picked were in the front section near the stage. In order to win the Showcase, it wasn't enough to be the closest without going over, NO you had to be within $100.00 of the cost of the showcase. If you want to throw your money away, play the slots, its more entertaining. <bob066 -at- hotmail.com> - Barrie Canada - Added 05/23/08 - [74.14.88.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/08 My Wife, Son and myself attended the show on May 10, 08. We liked the interaction of the actors with the audience. The whole experience and atmosphere was more like a real wedding, including the food. The band and especially the lead singer Donnie was outstanding. We could have listened to the band for hours. In all, it was one of the highlights of our Las Vegas Visit,a lot of fun and we can recommend it highly. <jbsmfs -at- verizon.net> - Edinboro USA - Added 05/22/08 - [71.116.20.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/08 Very funny, but VERY overpriced <jqclark -at- yahoo.com> - Newnan GA USA - Added 05/16/08 - [24.159.108***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/07 - Bad Show I have seen many shows in Las vegas and a lot of them are very good. This is one of the best shows on the strip but it isn't for everyone. It's a show I'll never get tired of and I LOVE going every time. There is a lot of loud drumming and that's why I wouldn't suggest it for young children but teens would love it! It's a very different show so people that aren't very open minded may not enjoy it. It's hard to describe but totally worth seeing!! <megan145 -at- yahoo.com> - Las Vegas NV USA - Added 05/07/08 - [72.193.92.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/08 With all the Cirque and headline shows featuring famous comedians, magicians, and singers, Vegas needed a show just like this: an unapologetic sex/horror romp. There are probably many reasons to rationally dislike this show, but hot young vampire dancers dressed as dominatrixes is pretty much a guilty pleasure of mine, and what they did, namely dance very well and act in control, they all did very well. There were other decent performances besides the female vampires, namely Lord Vampire and his "Igor"-like sidekick, but I couldn't get past the girls, really, and if they won't apologize for exploiting that, then I won't apologize for falling for it. The stand-out characters for me are the vampire known as "Shimmy": the dark-haired leader of the vampire girl-pack, and the Queen of the Night who had a good character arc from scared virginal victim to large and in charge vampire mamma. I also thought I hated classic rock after decades of being inundated with the same 70's rock anthems on the radio, but for some reason, the music really worked for this show, and it was more than appropriate. What didn't work as well was first, the set, which unfortunately shares space with two other shows at the Stratosphere, and is very sparce and more functional than interesting in design. Also, having seen a dozen Vegas shows, Bite relies on some played-out Vegas gimmicks like the old "audience plants" who pose as ordinary people and then they are...SURPRISE...a part of the show! And if I've seen 3 Cirque du Soliel drape-acrobatic numbers, I've seen 2 too many and I don't really need another one here. Same goes for the magic; I mean, the "tricks" in this show are third-rate Seigfried and Roy and they should just be left out. Finally, the story was a bit thin and predictable, and the singing was not bad, but certainly forgettable. Having said all that, I really loved the show because the goth sexiness of the whole thing and the great dancing are the stars, and especially for $45, the rest is absolutely forgivable. To me, this show is a wake-up call for the prime hotels in Vegas like Venetian, Bellagio, and Mandalay Bay to take a chance and put a few million into developing a high-budget horror show with equal sexiness and bit more edge and flash. Heck, get rid of that dud Zumanity at New York New York and do an Underworld-style show or something. But alas, if this is all we get, go drop some money on Bite, it's worth your nickles. <marcelo.gonzalez -at- hccs.edu> - USA - Added 05/07/08 - [98.196.255.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/08 The last time I saw Gordie was at the Venetian with a band and I must say, I was skeptical. In fact, the only reason I went was cause my mom dragged me and I must say, the V theater is an improvement for him. I really think he did much better without the band for he was able to focus more on his humor, which kept me laughing. Check him out before he returns to the Venetian. <brattius -at- yahoo.com> - Barstow CA USA - Added 05/05/08 - [131.216.165***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/08 I must say, I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this afternoon show, but found myself cracking up laughing!
