Date Seen: 07/07 - Good Show More entertaining than "O". <boatracer82 -at- yahoo.com> - TX USA - Added 07/28/07 - [71.11.232***] 7682 Date Seen: 07/07 - Bad Show A friend recommended this show, but even with lower booth seating, this was a very disappointing show. The material is extremely dated, and plays to an audience that would be born in the 30's to early 50's.. Sure there was the risque aspect of toplessness, but if I wanted to see semi-naked starving actresses, I could easily pick up a copy of Vogue or Cosmo.. Unless an attempt is made to bring the production into the 21st Century, I can see this show being torpedoed in the future.. I know it is continuing on inertia only now, but if the rumoured renovations to Bally's take place anytime soon, they may use that as an excuse to can the show and try to get something more up-to-date (like a Cirque show) on the property.. Avoid at all costs!! <thebigguy -at- sympatico.ca> - Canada - Added 07/25/07 - [64.229.179.***] 7678 Date Seen: 07/07 - Good Show Sigh...Tickets were comped I will say good costumes, good stage props. Samson And Delilah scene was the best. Yes the show is old. Very old. Nothing like the other Vegas shows. Good? Bad? I don't know. Needs updating on the music and dance numbers. After about an hour i was ready to go. Had great seats. was in the 'glass booth' up in the back with the sound and lighting people are. Great view of the whole show. <excursion702 -at- yahoo.com> - Las Vegas NV USA - Added 07/13/07 - [70.173.243***] 7671 Date Seen: 12/06 - Bad Show needs updating. <terry.rosemore -at- triadhospitals.com> - Tucson AZ USA - Added 12/20/06 - [207.200.116.***] 7488 Date Seen: 11/06 I also wanted to see a traditional "Las Vegas" song and dance show. After taking the AMAZING backstage tour, I was looking forward to the scenery and costumes. The topless scenes were ok when the girls were wearing jeweled underwire costumes...when they weren't wearing them, well, that got old. The men's voices were good but near the end there is a duet - the woman sings first and I had to plug my ears! She was sooooooo terrible. Then the man sang nicely until she comes in to harmonize. Uggghhhhhh!!! With all the talent in Vegas she is a problem that should be easy to fix! <sprtshpy -at- aol.com> - NJ USA - Added 11/17/06 - [66.93.144.***] 6994 Date Seen: 10/06 - Bad Show This was, by far, the worst show we have ever seen. The probelms started at the Box Office where the staff was extremely rude. What really botheres me was, when I went to get seats, they were on the side. When my sister got her seats, about 1/2 hour before the show, shw was given good seats, They must hold on to seats until close to showtime in case someone more important than a cash paying guest decides to come!! How rude is that? It shoud be first come first served! The supervisor did not help, either. I fully agree that pictures should not be taken BUT to have personal property taken away just seems uncalled for. Cameras are not allowed in the theater at all. If someone takes a picture, then fine, take their camera, but everyones? Well, back to the show---it is so-o-o outdated. The female dancers are so unattractive. The look like skeletons. The singers cannot keep up with their pre-recorded voices--heck, one of the singers did not even move her mouth! The dancers look tired and bored. They were even making each other laugh. I will never see Jubilee! again and suggest you don't either. <consnow455 -at- aol.com> - Glendale Heights IL USA - Added 10/04/06 - [64.12.116.***] 6940 Date Seen: 07/06 I'll give this obviously tired production a five, based on one thing: breasts. Without the topless factor, this thing is more like a two. I may have enjoyed it more, but my wife and I made the mistake of getting tickets right up against the stage. From that vantage point, the obviously gay male performers become nauseating, mainly because of their poor shaving techniques. Guys, if you're going to see this show, sit somewhere in the middle, unless you enjoy having a g-string-clad gay man stick his package in your face. Actually, I hesitate to call these queens men. They're more like girls with testicles -- and poorly shaven testicles at that. To you "men" in the show, here's a tip: For God's sake, shave that stuff. Are you trying to make the guys in the audience barf? Beyond that, I like the fact the Bally's has kept the feather show alive, but it could use some revamping. This show needs some fresh music and routines added to it. Here's an example of how exhausted this production has become: From our vantage point, you could see a few of the performers making faces at each other during the show. This unprofessional behavior is indicative a group of dancers who have grown sick of their own show, and are taking the audience for granted. When a production gets to this point, it's time to either pull the plug, or make some changes. Change the music, change the routines, add some masucline men to the cast, and clean up the joking around. Otherwise, the feathershow is a dinasaur which will soon go the way of Vaudeville. By the way, the Jubilee show was the only show my wife and I attended which wasn't sold out. At least a third of the theater was empty. <evster1264 -at- yahoo.com> - Kempner TX USA - Added 07/09/06 - [68.206.144***] 6831 Date Seen: 02/06 - Good Show I have been going to Vegas with the guys for 18 years but this was my wife's first trip. She said she wanted to see a 'real Vegas' show and this seemed to be the obvious choice. Jubilee has been playing for years and is the quintessential 'Vegas Show'. With ridiculous plotless stories, cheesy music sets reminiscent of a 1970s TV variety show, enough headdresses, frills and feathers to make a peacock jealous and more boobs per minute then a high school remedial wood shop class, make Jubilee the PERFECT way to spend a couple of hours during a Vegas trip. You have not lived till you have seen the story of the Titanic as seen through the kitschy eyes of a Vegas show. My wife wants me to mention that there is more ‘topless’ then she expected but she liked the show. I explained that having dozens of naked breasts is about the only way to get the average guy off the casino floor and into song and dance show. This show is a Vegas classic, go see it before it goes the way of the Dunes, Desert Inn and soon the Stardust. <dvmp -at- hotmail.com> - Loserville TX USA - Added 03/19/06 - [67.66.188.***] 6599 Date Seen: 12/05 - Good Show It's got all the glitter and breasts that Vegas is known for so it's worth seeing if you're into that but it's not sleezy like an X rated show or a strip show type like X or even Buck Wild. <sunsinmyheart -at- yahoo.com> - New York NY USA - Added 12/27/05 - [160.79.75.***] 6422 Date Seen: 10/05 - Good Show We wanted a classic Vegas showgirl review and we got it. Bare-breasted showgirls running up and down stairs in heels, balancing huge feathered headdresses on their heads and grinning the whole time. Don’t know how they do it! The different acts were totally unrelated and usually didn’t make much sense, but the costumes and dancing were quite impressive. <EmmaB4976 -at- aol.com> - Kansas City USA - Added 10/19/05 - [64.12.116.***] 6239 Date Seen: 06/05 - Good Show Typical showgirl show but the best of the bunch. At least the sets were great. After a while, you don't even notice the breasts. Tasteful and entertaining, but not brilliant. Good acts in between (jugglers, acrobats, etc). <wundrwomynn -at- yahoo.com> - IN USA - Added 06/18/05 - [65.29.79***] 5403 Date Seen: 05/05 - Undecided Save your time and money and go to Folies instead of this one. The props were dated, the music canned and overload, the girls not all that attractive, but i would recommend the backstage tour that's associated with this show. The showgirl who gave that tour was knowledgeable and intelligent, and seeing the crappy little dresing rooms and costumes obliterates the image of wealth and glitter. <newone57 -at- msn.com> - Masontown PA USA - Added 05/13/05 - [207.255.107.***] 5291 Date Seen: 04/05 - Good Show very good show. A real Hollywood style show...where big is better...more is better etc. No real theme to the show...just keeps on coming at you.. Would describe it as fun and light... Such a big stage don't pay for the closer seats ...just not worth it <kgre336652 -at- aol.com> - Boston MA USA - Added 04/23/05 - [205.188.116.***] 5208 Date Seen: 02/05 - Undecided OK show, nothing spectacular. Worth the experience. <raygonzales4 -at- satx.rr.com> - San Antonio TX USA - Added 10/10/06 - [70.125.135***] 6956 Date Seen: 01/05 - Good Show It was an OK show for free -- after suffering through a timeshare sales pitch, we chose this show. I'd be mad if I paid the list price for the tickets. We got free upgrades that night since the theater was only 1/3 full at best. 2 seats right up front... The show was good, but with a 10:30 start time, I actually fell asleep during the Titanic scene. The girls were pretty, but the topless costumes really added nothing to the show. <kmurphy99 -at- hotmail.com> - MI USA - Added 01/31/05 - [66.227.148.***] 5014 Date Seen: 01/05 - Good Show This is old-school Vegas, the sort of show that survives largely for nostalgia reasons. That said, "Jubilee!" is a fine variety show. The four set pieces featuring the showgirls are well-staged, with lots of lovely costumes and elegant sets. For my money, the "Samson and Delilah" and "Titanic" sequences were more interesting than the opening and finale segments, which don't really go anywhere but were still entertaining. The 3 variety acts that separate the set pieces are something of a mixed bag, currently. The contortionists were good (they were featured in an episode of Cirque du Soleil's TV show "Solstrom"), but the aerial ballet on long pieces of fabric wasn't as exciting. Happily the rousing juggling act that preceded the finale was saved for last. The show is reasonably priced ($55-75) for the Strip given the scope of the production, and with a bit of looking 2-for-1 deals are available. If you're interested in old-school Vegas or just want some spectacle, give it a look. <tomdoctress -at- yahoo.com> - USA - Added 01/28/05 - [12.210.133.***] 5002 Date Seen: 12/04 - Bad Show This show has become tired. When I first saw it, about 15 years ago, the costumes and production numbers were very impressive. The three interlude acts were varied and fun. This year it appears the performers were going through the motions, and the use of mutiple jugglers is a boring. If I wanted to see acrobats, I would have picked another show. This show is just tired and old and needs to be updated or put to rest. <systemsprof -at- yahoo.com> - Wichita Falls TX USA - Added 12/31/04 - [67.9.61.***] 4856 Date Seen: 12/04 - Undecided Flo Zigfield would have loved this show. It was like watching a Vaudville Variety show with lots of topless girls and guys in g strings. Rather silly. It is the old style vegas show with an excess of everything. Costumes were sometimes skimpy, othertimes extravigant. The headgear those naked girls wore made me wonder how they were able to walk. Funny thought hit me during the show....all the dancers and people on stage were most likely not born when the show started way back when! Time to put it in a museum or give it an updating. I wouldn't pay to see it again. In fact I wouldn't go if it were compted. Good effort on the part of the performers but I wasn't the only one who felt this way.... the applause was feeble at best. The show had no "Pizzaz". The only reason to see this show is to overdose on 'bare boobies', otherwise catch a lounge act! <oregoncamped -at- hotmail.com> - Reedsport OR USA - Added 12/13/04 - [65.168.219.***] 4810 Date Seen: 11/04 - Good Show This was my husband's and my, first trip to Vegas. The Jubilee was our first big production number we attended. I have to say the costumes were fantastic - and that is the reason I wanted to see the show. To see the "showgirls". I could have done without attending the "topless" one - but I'm sure that was an added bonus for my husband. I didn't quite get how the "scenes" fit together - and why it needed even needed to be topless. But my husband keeps telling me, that is what "vegas" is about - .... Overall we were entertained and thought it was a good show. <bjroth -at- Lycos.com> - West Fargo ND USA - Added 11/30/04 - [24.117.14***] 4748 Date Seen: 11/04 - Bad Show This show looks very tired. The Samson and Titanic scenes look very dated. Perhaps the directors need to add some of the shine from the Circ De Solei shows. Of the 3 acts between scenes, only the Chinese pair held my attention - the jugglers and the sheet swingers were old hat. Overall not a 67 dollar show, more like 25 dollars. <millarman -at- hotmail.co.uk> - London England - Added 11/29/04 - [63.165.3***] 4741 Date Seen: 10/04 - Undecided Overall I wasn't impressed with this show. The sets and costumes were increbible, but I guess I just didn't like the singing and dancing. It got to be a little boring. The best parts of the show were the acts between the set changes. The Chinese contourtionists and the jugglers were excellent. Also, the boiler room scene from the Titanic was also very good. I wanted to see it because of the show's history, but I definitely would not see it again. <sardonv -at- basf.com> - Mt. Laurel NJ USA - Added 11/16/04 - [144.29.1***] 4704 Date Seen: 09/04 - Good Show "Jubilee" was a highlight of my stay in Vegas. I took my best friend and his wife to the show and 6 other people from our group went too. Everyone agreed that it was a fantastic show. Each of the big production numbers was breathtaking. The costumes fantastic. Some other comments have mentioned that the show girls were too thin. They were reasonably proportioned. If they had had larger chest measurements, the topless portions could have been in poor taste, as it was they were perfect for this type of show. The three variety acts that were on while sets were being changed were superior: twin Chinese brothers who did a wonderful contortionist routine; two young men who performed unbelievable gymnastics while hanging from long silk streamers, at times even flying out over the audience; twin brother jugglers who were very amusing as well as great jugglers. The sets and costumes all looked like they were brand new. The day after I saw the show, I took the backstage tour. Half of the group was escorted by a show girl, the other half by one of the male dancers. Our group had the male. He was very informative and friendly. Even up close the costumes and sets were as fresh as could possible be. The workmanship on the costumes was excellent. "Jubilee" was better than anything I have seen at Radio City Music Hall or the Lido in Paris. <jim99jr -at- wzrd.com> - USA - Added 09/27/04 - [24.75.7***] 4566 Date Seen: 09/04 This is about the 4th time we've seen Jubilee over the last 10 years. We enjoyed the show thoroughly in the past. This time the costumes and choreography were new but somehow the show seemed flat. The jugglers were the only outstanding act. I regret to say some of the cast looked like they were bored and going through the motions. I guess this will be our last visit. <klosekjoelin -at- aol.com> - Allentown PA USA - Added 09/13/04 - [152.163.100***] 4516 Date Seen: 08/04 - Good Show Great show, well worth the price. The sets, the costumes, the dancing, it's all simply amazing. The women are very beautiful, they looked healthy not sickly skinny as some had described. All the women are definately less well endowed than average, but I imagine the show would be pretty distracting with woman that were bouncing everywhere. I didn't enjoy the jugglers that much, but the rest of the show was great. <chris.horn -at- calgary.ca> - Calgary AB Canada - Added 08/30/04 - [192.41.148.***] 4494 Date Seen: 08/04 - Good Show Enjoyed the show immensely. This is the Las Vegas show revue one thinks of when they think of a "Las Vegas Style" show. We went to the "Backstage" show earlier in the day and that contributed greatly to our enjoyment. Topless portion of the show is well done but the dancers are definitely not well endowed. Don't go for the topless feature, go to see an enjoyable show. <gsodrstrom -at- aol.com> - Waukesha WI USA - Added 08/14/04 - [205.188.116.***] 4462 Date Seen: 07/04 - Good Show A stay at Paris Las Vegas (July 19 - 23, 2004) which included a buy-one-get one ticket lured us to "Jubilee", for which we are grateful. It was a great show. Very entertaining and very surprising. We had never seen a Vegas show that included SO MANY dancers. We sat directly behind the tables in the first row. I had wanted to sit stage front, but the lady selling us the ticket said it would be a better view farther back and she was right. My husband gives the show a thumbs up, which says a lot. Usually he only wants to gamble and has no interest in the shows. I was TERRORIZED when the two man were swinging from the veil-like ropes over the audience. It was one of the "intermission acts". I thought we were going to see some carnage, but to them it was just another night of work. I agree with a few comments below. Example: when the Titanic went down, I was almost ready to cry. Then out come the dancers with the happy red, white and blue song. Maybe they intended to keep the cry babies dry eyed. It did jolt me back to reality of the outragous dance and make me realize it was all in fun. Regarding the "skinny" dancers that others have noted, in 20 years they will be plump enough. I'd give anything to be skinny like them. It is easier to dance when you are skinny, for sure. Good show, go see it. I might have not gone to this show, not knowing what a truly awesome experience it is. Go! Your just going to lose your money in the slots anyway : ) <theimer -at- linkinpark.com> - Seneca Falls NY USA - Added 08/06/04 - [24.213.209.***] 4451 Date Seen: 06/04 - Good Show Good fun - Very Las Vegas - the Classic Image of a Vegas Showgirl, my wife and I had good fun there. The production is fairly lavish and included some impressive acrobatic acts as well as all the singing and dancing. <walker356 -at- hotmail.com> - Renfrew UK - Added 07/13/04 - [193.62.246***] 4140 Date Seen: 06/04 - Good Show The greatness of the show isn't in the details; it's in the overall silliness and outrageousness of it. During the show, I started to think about the irony of beautiful girls wearing incredibly ornate and elaborate costumes... while topless. It just didn't make sense. My brain started to cramp, so I decided to just take another sip of my grossly overpriced apple martini and enjoyed the show. Don't over-think it. Just enjoy the silly spectacle of it all. On that note, however, the show probably could use a few changes. I know I said not to overthink it, but the Titanic bit was, well, it was just odd. I'd say to cut that out and do something like the Samson & Delilah act, which was by far the most interesting of the "story" acts. It was a little more sexual without being trashy like a strip club or bizarre like Zumanity. Keep the opening and closing acts, they were quite enjoyable. Almost anything would be a nice change, as long as they don't pull a Treasure Island-style transformation (re: what they did to the pirate ship battle) to appeal to the "younger crowd" (which, at age 24, I am firmly placed in). The new pirate show was just hideously retarded. Oh, and definitely keep the intermission shows. They were at least as entertaining as the main acts, though there was far less nudity. heh. <untaggie -at- yahoo.com> - Denton TX USA - Added 07/06/04 - [66.169.209***] 4018 Date Seen: 06/04 - Good Show If you can only see one show in Las Vegas, this should be it! I have seen it 3 times in the last 9 months. When friends come to town I will take them to see it again. The showgirls are the most stunning I have ever seen, and they are the reason I keep going back. They've also been kind enough to let me take a picture with them afterwards everytime. As soon as I win my first million, I'm going to start going everynight! I strongly disagree with some of the negative comments made by some of the other reviewers here about so-called "skinny" showgirls. These dazzling women are everything I could ever dream of being with. I have also taken the backstage pass once, and it was interesting to see all the props, feathers, elevators, etc. The only complaint I have is that I would have liked to see the showgirl's makeup room during this backstage pass. Viva Jubilee! <jjschn1 -at- msn.com> - Las Vegas NV USA - Added 06/30/04 - [65.54.98.***] 3701 Date Seen: 04/04 - Bad Show This show is Classic Vegas......Classicly boring...The production Numbers were a snore, save the girl whom did the solo in THe titanic skit....The sheet swingers stole the show....And that is not saying alot. I won't wast my money going back to this snooze fest. <faithful2hammer -at- yahoo.com> - Oklahoma City OK USA - Added 02/23/05 - [72.16.9.***] 5093 Date Seen: 04/04 - Good Show I loved this show!! I have been to several shows on the Strip, but none seemed like a true Las Vegas show. Jubilee does. I am not a dancer but the choreography seemed fine to me. I was in Section 'C' Row 'B' Second Row Stage Right, I had a great view. The only places that might have trouble were the tables in the front of the theatre -- as in all Vegas shows using seating like that, they seemed crowded. The only jarring note was the "Yankee Doodle" number right after the sinking of the Titanic. I think the "Yankee Doodle" number would be better placed in Act 1. I also took the Backstage Tour. I STRONGLY recommend this tour. It's really something to see the huge setpieces close up and hear the humorous stories from the guide. Incidentally, the guide is a showgirk FROM THE CAST. I assumed it would be a regular tour guide dressed up as a showgirl, but that's not the case. Our guide was Paula Allen, one of the 'Dolly Sisters' in the Titanic sequence. Thank you, Paula. I loved your stories and Thank You for signing my souvenier program. All in all, I definitely recommend this show for anyone who wants to see an old-time Las Vegas show. Just don't sit at the tables. <fgsll -at- aol.com> - Waverly OH USA - Added 04/17/04 - [69.166.17***] 2859 Date Seen: 03/04 - Good Show This was a classy show. Great costumes, great old songs, beautiful girls and handsome men. We enjoyed it all. Only thing was the close up seating, we were at the tables in the very front and could not see the entire production. Best to sit in the theater type seats. Only comment of the performance, they could make a better break between the sinking of the Titanic and the red/white/blue dancing girls that come out smiling and tapping right after the ship sinks. <marybme -at- pacbell.net> - Danville CA USA - Added 03/28/04 - [63.195.115***] 2806 Date Seen: 03/04 - Bad Show My husband works as a Chef for Bally's and got 2 for 1 tickets. We thoguht it was a good idea to go and see a classic Las Vegas show. We arrived at the theater at 10:15pm for the 10:30PM show and had seats up front on the tables that seats 6 people and they are all close together that I felt like I was almost sitting on the ladies lap next to me. When the show started I was shocked to see the looks of all the dancers. You would think they would pick a better selection of ladies...they were sooo skinny their bones were popping out of thier ribs and chest and had no figure. There were a couple scenes that were very good but would have been better if the dancers were more enthusiastic. They seemed very bored and miserable on stage I dont know if it was because they were topless or what but it ruined the show for us. As the Titanic scene was starting I looked around the audience to see other peoples reactions and there was a Japanese older man sitting behind me in the booth that was sleeping and SNORING! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS SHOW! <rosetoe -at- hotmail.com> - Las Vegas NV USA - Added 03/20/04 - [66.209.8***] 2775 Date Seen: 02/04 - Good Show Classic Vegas at it's best - go for the spectacle of it all- the costumes and the sets and you will enjoy yourself- Yes, the "intermission" acts may go a bit long , but that is to allow the set and costume changes- no movie magic here! To the rater who said that there were too many Negro's= Las Vegas is not the place for you - stay home in your mobile home- show should have MORE minorities to reflect the true "face" of America! Don't expect live singing and inspired performances from a troup that does it twice a night 6 days a week- just enjoy a Vegas classic!!!!!! <norskdog -at- aol.com> - Chatsworth CA United States - Added 02/10/04 - [152.163.252.***] 2516 Comment Disclaimer: No attempt has been made to verify or assure the accuracy of the above comments.
