SAW MAMMA MIA ON 01/20/2007: SUPER FANTASTIC SHOW! THE ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I SAW WHILE I WAS THERE AND HAVE EVER SEEN IN VEGAS. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT THE DANCING THE SHOW THE MUSIC THE COSTUMES > I AM GLAD I SPENT THE MONEY ON IT. I SAW SIX SHOWS AND MAMMA MIA AND TONI BRAXTON WERE THE BEST, LA CAGE, AMERICAN STORM, JUBILEE & THE COMEDY SHOW AT THE RIVIERA WERE ALL FANTASTIC. DON'T WASTE YOU MONEY ON FOLIES BERGERE AT THE TROPICANA THAT WAS A MAJOR WASTE OF MONEY AND THAT SHOW NEEDS TO BE IMPLODED.
MAMMA MIA WAS GREAT AND WORTH THE TIME AND MONEY GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.

Mamma Mia is probably the best, most entertaining show in Vegas. The music is great (everyone knows Abba songs) and seems to fit right in with the story lines. The theater is very cosy, so even if you sit in the back you have a good view of the stage. The cast was very good when we saw it and having seem multiple plays on Broadway in NY, the cast is certainly Broadway-level talent. The whole audience seemed to enjoy the show and ranged in age from children to retirees. The encore was great and had the entire audience on their feet and dancing to the music. The Cirque shows are great in Vegas, but we had more fun at Mamma Mia!

This show was very good and I would recommend it to anyone - even if you don't like Abba music! It seemed expensive when we first looked at it online but we found a website doing discounts before we went and it was great value for over 2 hours entertainment.

By far the best show I have seen in years. The staging, lights and sound are the best. Loved Abba in the 70's and love to hear the music again. Very good!

Fantastic! Great show with great music. Seating was excellent as I don't think there was a bad seat in the house. Please do not shorten this show as there is nothing that should be cut out. Encore was terrific. Worth every penny!

Got free tix from time share pitch. Sat in the stratosphere with air conditioning blasting our necks from huge ducts behind us. Show was likely much better in smaller surroundings of Broadway theatres but in the Mandalay Bay theatre it was dwarfed. Couldn't hear conversations between actors. Not the kind of show suited for a big theatre like this.

Overall probably the finest show I've seen anywhere. I was sad it ended because I just wanted it to go on and on. What a great circle of talent displayed by the cast. The happy excitement of the cast streams through the audience. It just doesn't get better.

Fantastic!! I was a teenager when most of the ABBA songs were popular,and the friend I attended with was in diapers, but we both loved the show!!! I don't think there is a bad seat in the theater. The incorporation of ABBA songs in to the story line, make you think they were written specifically for the show. The energy is contagious, by the end of the show, our whole row was singing and swaying with the songs and on their feet during the incredible blast to the past finale. Best Vegas show I have seen.

I really enjoyed Mamma Mia. Our seats were one row back from the stage, so we had a clear view of the expressions on actors' faces and could easily hear the dialog. The cast was so enthusiastic and clearly enjoying themselves; very infectious. Their comic timing was excellent, and I had no problem with anyone's singing voice. If I had one complaint, it was that the actor playing the fiance wasn't quite believable as a heterosexual, but that's a small point. I would recommend this show to anyone who likes to laugh and enjoys Abba music. Three days later and I'm still humming the songs.

The Broadway version of this show was enjoyable. The Las Vegas cast isn't as polished. The female lead character simply can't sing! Anyone with musical training will realize she's flat much of the time. Ensemble numbers were fine, however this show's sets are lackluster, encountering only minor changes throughout, making the visual boring. This show has been done to death, and your next door neighbor could easily step into any role with equal success.

I really enjoyed the show and I'm not a huge ABBA fan either. I sat in the nose bleed section for a Saturday night 10pm performance and since there were quite a few empty seats, you could easily changed to a better seat if you choose even though the $49.50 ones suited us fine. You could spot the ABBA fans- they were the people dancing in the aisles at the end.

This is a great show!!!! It is funny, and at times hilarious!! I can't recommend it enough. And hearing the Abba songs was very nostalgic. Everybody was singing along or body bopping. Was great. I know the show can be viewed from probably anywhere in the theatre, but I highly suggest seats very close. To see the facial expressions of certain characters added so much to the show. But see it even from far away- show is worth it.

My wife and I had no idea what to expect when we went into this one. We could not quit laughing and
smiling when we left the theater after the show!! We are not ABBA fans, but still loved the show. This
one is easy to recommend at all. Lots of sexual over-tones and off-colored jokes, so you may want to
think twice about bringing the kids along (not like they want to see a musical with ABBA anyway).
Theater has no bad seats, so just take any seat you can get & enjoy the show.

Mamma Mia what a show, living near London although i adore ABBA songs i never fancied seeing it. But what a surprise a fantastic show with a superb cast (espically the mother when see sings 'Winner Takes it All' it deserves a standing ovation.Love the Theatre to Mandaley Bay you should be proud.
So get your platform shoes on for the time of your life, wanted to see it again if i had time i would have.Go Go Go & see it.

Took my wife to see this for her Birthday when in Vegas. I enjoyed it as
much as her! We had a fantastic time enjoying the songs and the humour
of what can only be described as a genuine feel good show. People were
standing and singing along by the end! There are comments posted
below stating that the show was offensive to Christians and used
profanity in the exclamation "Jesus Christ!" Personally, as a christian, I
find the people handing out pornographic flyers and brochures up and
down the Strip for strippers and Escorts far more offensive! How on earth
did you survive in Las Vegas? They don't call it Sin City for nothing?!?

This is the second time my husband and I saw Mamma Mia, the first time being on Broadway, and loved it all over again!! I was amazed that some of the LV performers were better than the Broadway performers. The orchestra was fantastic and made it hard to sit still in our seats thru all the musical numbers. This is a "feel good" musical that has you singing ABBA songs and dancing in the aisles. Of course, the mega-mix at the end of the show is an added bonus where the performers come on stage and just sing a bunch of ABBA songs while the audience sings along. As another reviewer said, see this at the beginning of your trip to get you into a happy mood. As to the reviewer who was concerned about Donna saying "Christ" in the show, I was wondering, didn't the whole story line about a woman having had a child out of wedlock and not knowing who the real father is concern you more than the language????? Oh well, I would take children to see this show because there is nothing like live theatre, and this is a musical that is great from beginning to end.

THE BEST DAMNED SHOW....EVER!
I have seen "Mamma Mia!" five times - twice in Los Angeles and three times in Las Vegas. It is a fabulous show! Everything about it is wonderful! The ABBA music is infectious and gets you in a good mood, even if you've been losing in the casino. I think that the Las Vegas production is much better than the ones I have seen in L.A. It is better acted, funnier, and SEXIER! Usually, I prefer seats in the middle or rear of a theatre, but for "Mamma Mia!" having seats up close is a plus! You really want to see the performers expressions becuase it adds so much to the fun.
Mandalay Bay recently upped the ticket prices, currently $110 (inclduing tax) for orchestra seats. But, it is WELL WORTH the money! I'm going again in May!
Oh, my God....
Regardiing the Christian woman whose panties are all in a bind because a performer in a Vegas show exclaimed the words 'Jesus Christ' (see her post below.) She really needs to stay away from SIN city! She also complained that show was not suitable for children, unless they removed certain things. I saw nothing wrong with taking children to see this show. But, hey, what the HELL are children doing in Las Vegas, anyway? Isn't Las Vegas for adults?
Just go see "Mamma Mia!" and you'll be HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!

The show was fantastic, try to sit as close to the front as possible. I was amazed at how they tie all ABBA songs to such a great storyline. The night we went, everybody stood up and danced to many songs, it was such a fun night and the cast was very good. A must see in Vegas if you want to be entertained and be away from gambling for 2 and a half hours!
This is to the previous comment: The show is about a woman who had sex with different men in the past and became pregnant, raised a daughter without knowing who the real father is. The night before she is about to get married, she "lied" to her mother and fiance about some of her invited guests. Should they warn all these as well?

Be sure and see Mel Gibson's new film 2/25/04: "The Passion of The Christ" and then judge if you can understand why I felt like somebody socked me in the stomach or threw ice cold water in my face when "Donna" in "Mamma Mia" used our Lord's Precious Name, "JESUS" (John 1:1,14), then His Title, "CHRIST" [The Messiah, The Anointed One Who Brings the Anointing"] -- both as curse words.

I don't know who was responsible (the actress or the writer) for feeling it was necessary to have "Donna" break the Third Commandment to supposedly add to the enjoyment of those who don't care whether God or His followers would be offended. I would have appreciated being warned beforehand on a comment site like this. My husband thought he had chosen a clean, family-friendly show to spend almost $300 for he, our grown son, and I to attend from the reviews available on-line.
If anyone shares my convictions, go see "The Blue Man Group" instead (they are mimes and don't speak at all . . . and they are very funny -- I saw lots of children there -- my grandchildren would have enjoyed their show.)
To keep things in perspective and to be fair, the offensive remarks happened one time in what could have been an enjoyable performance (with the absence of: a mouthed obscenity and some overtly sexual gyrations in the name of "comedy", including the unstrapping of a man's trouser belt while on top of the woman he lusts for (while on the floor of the church on the spot where the wedding is about to be performed), even though we were unfamiliar with ABBA -- except where it is used in Scripture to explain how we Christians are so close to our Heavenly Father that we are like little children calling Him "Daddy" ["Abba", Father].
With those few deletions, you could bring your children along to enjoy some talented performers and ABBA music (their lyrics do nothing for me -- I can't remember much of what I heard, but their tunes fit the story line in what appeared to be a clever way.) Without those deletions, however, it gets a "thumbs down" from me -- I hope those deletions might be possible to attract a wider audience, should the promoters care about such things.

Another positive experience at this light-hearted and well done musical.
We were right up front by the orchestra pit and while the opening was a little loud, the rest of the show was terrific with a very talented cast.
Good luck getting those ABBA tunes out of your head- I broke down and bought the CD after we got home.

That was the BEST Show I have seen in las vegas by far. It's a true typical Broadway fun show, unlike other shows that run for 90min this one runs way over for 2hr30min show. But If you want to be entertained go see MAMMA MIA you wont be disappointed. You'll be dancing in the end.
