We went to the Rick Thomas Show on 08/22/05 and both my wife and myself enjoyed the show. We have seen other magicians and Rick Thomas is one of the best and at a bargain price.

wow. what money can buy. once you get into las vegas this rick thomas magic show at the stardust is advertised all over the place. if i was ten years old i might enjoy it but i am over 21 and i felt like i was ripped off and guess what the tickets were free for a time share promotion.
the stardust needs to find a show that people will actually enjoy talking about
instead of whispering about when they leave.
i recommend you look for a real magic show, better yet maybe rick thomas could go over and ask lance burton for help. lord knows he needs some

This is a very good show. Not just because of the price, but it is entertaining and a nicely assembled production. I actually spent the whole $27 to get great booth seating and would have paid twice that.
If your looking for great entertainment on a budget, you can not go wrong with this show.

I thought his show was awesome!! I thought him and his tigers were fantastic. I am a real big tiger fan and thought it was great to be near one. We plan to go back to las vegas in October 2006 and I will definitely go see hi again> I thought his magic was amazing. I had my picture taken with him and he autographed a picture for me. It made for a nice anniversary for my husband and I. We loved the show!!

This is the 2nd time we've seen Rick Thomas. As a matinee show, this is an outstanding value. Great entertainment, with a bit of humor, presented at a fast pace.

Very nice show for the price I think. Rick does some good tricks and keeps the crowd active. For $20 I couldn't think of a better show. I would gladly go back. It's a family show so don't be afraid to take children. Also, we got the "general admission" seats. We bought them an hour before the show and as soon as we got them we stood in line and we got pretty good seats (they're first-come, first-served seats). So I'd recommend getting there an hour ahead if you have those seats.

Really a bargain ticket at around $20, and a classy afternoon entertainment option. I really liked the extensive bird numbers at the start, and I thought the illusions involving tigers were the best stuff I saw in two different magic shows; you kind of get a double dose of entertainment--one in the magic and another just in the wild-animal handling. Best trick in the show, for me, is the one where the big tiger is changed into a cub. I thought Thomas had striking stage presence and grace, as might be expected from someone with a dance-competition background. I was aware that this show ran exactly one hour--but after just 20 minutes, I felt as if I'd seen more magic than in the whole 80-minute show of another Strip magician. Was there anything I'd change? Well, the bit involving the box held in the audience kind of dragged--and then when Rick gets the box back, it seems like he fusses with it long enough that it erases the effect of it having been out of his possession. I got tired of his "I hate BIRDS!" gag: what's he going for in that odd voice he uses to say it--maybe some kind of Jim Carrey impersonation? Also, when we have a long series of cats, pretty girls, and Rick himself all appearing and disappearing in that cage, I'm afraid that it gives the audience time to start thinking that there has to be some kind of invisible pipeline or tunnel out the back of that thing into a backstage area. Still, I'd urge any Vegas visitor to save a 2 pm or 4 pm slot to catch this show.

I have seen Rick's show 3 times now.. All with different guests. I have enjoyed the show every time I saw it.. There have been a couple different tricks each time as well to keep it interesting..
I think it's nice how he's turned it into more of a show and not just a bunch of meaningless tricks. He's personalized it with some music and movies about how he started out in magic.
But then why shouldn't you be able to expect a great time from the longest running daytime show in Las Vegas (it really is).

I don't know whose show these people attended with their negative comments. My husband and I have made several trips to Las Vegas in the last 3 years and have seen both the matinee and evening shows. The hard work and dedication to excellence by Mr. Thomas makes each a high quality performance, well worth the price. As for his personal integrity; after one show, my husband purchased a small stuffed white tiger outside the theater. As he paid for it, Mr. Thomas walked over and offered to autograph it and gave us an autographed video as well. I don't think that a self-centered, arrogant person would make a gesture like that.

Nice show with some good tricks. We went on a 2 for 1 and I think that this is about the value I would be comfortable paying for the show. A couple of weak sections for us were the dance with the broomstick tribute to Astair and the overlong opening bird tricks.
