Age does creep up on us all, However, this legend can still perform and does a great job on 85% of his material. This Very talented man who plays any Instrument you put in front of him, still steals the hearts of all those that he performs for! In my book, He will always be Mr. Vegas and rightfully so and this is just my opinion. Is his Show fit for Children? Is VEGAS Fit for Children? Absolutely Not! Until they clean the streets of the Garbage and porn papers will it be fit for children! I recommend every casino buy thier front sidewalk as do Ceasars Palace, and then you can control the people and thier Porn Handouts! You dont see these in front of these Hotels! But Yes! Wayne Newton is still a great entertainer and at every show makes an attempt to honor our Veterans and that is a plus to me!

I am appalled that he's still "entertaining"! He can't sing anymore and his jokes are older than he is! We wanted to get up and leave in the middle of the act but kept thinking it would get better - it didn't. This isn't the 60's anymore although Wayne seems to think it is - I even tried complaining to the hotel afterwards but no one wanted to listen. They should be paying us to see him not the other way around! He may have been the #1 entertainer back in his heyday but now he's just a pitiful old man that should have quit doing his act at least 10 years ago! I can't imagine that he needs money that badly to embarrass himself publicly like that. Disgusting! :-(

Well those who say that Wayne is losing his voice are right. Those that say the show is good are right too though. The Wayne Newton show is cheesy, but it is fun.

The Good: Wayne is a legendary entertainer who takes time with his fans. He jokes with them, kisses them, and is overall a very charming and seemingly nice guy. One of the highlights is that Wayne plays several instruments.
The man's overall showmanship is fantastic. He also has a great team of talented people around him that really help carry the show.

The Bad: Wayne's voice is not in good shape and he does very little singing during the show - just seven songs in nearly two hours! But, Wayne can still sing certain songs fairly well and should definately do a few more. He does the best with lower songs...when he heads up the register...yikes. The show is also too long...he really only has about 75 min of good stuff in the show tops, but drags it out. The worst part is that the jokes are so old...I have seen him three times now and have heard the exact same jokes between him and his band...freshen the show Wayne!!

Bottom line...he ain't what he used to be, but he is still worth seeing (even for younger people like me - 32...don't go for great singing, go for a fun evening with a Vegas legend.

I have always wanted to see Wayne Newton in Las Vegas. Found out that he had a Christmas show at Harrah's this year so we went. I spent the extra few dollars and got the Gold Circle seats. That means that you got up front seating and met Wayne after the show. (I suggest saving the $25 per ticket and sitting a bit further back in a real seat, the gold circle seats are your basic uncomfortable folding table chair.)

The show as good, not great. Poor Wayne, his voice is just about gone and he could barely sing. He did put on a good show and it quite entertaining, but I think his good days are over.

Harrah's did not help matters. The theater they put him in was small and cramped. They used really cheap set props, it looked like they got there props from the Dollar General.

If you are a die hard fan of Wayne, you will like it otherwise I recommend seeing another show.

i actually saw wayne newton last year in nov. 2005. i took my 78 year old mother. we couldn't get seats together because we bought tickets a week before the show. i was in the front row,she was behind me in the second row. i was one of the lucky one to get a kiss from wayne. the show was awesome. his voice is cracking a bit, but he puts on a hell of a show. i will be flying to vegas in dec. just to see his show. he is a very awesome man.

We where planning a trip to Las Vegas and my husband asked me who I wanted to see. I said Wayne Newton. I went on June 20, 2006 and sat in the Golden Circle. These tickets cost a little more. I got to meet Wayne and have my picture taken with him after the show. How exciting. It was an experience to last a lifetime. He was fantastic and show so was the show. His backup singer and orcastra was exceptional, but Wayne really made it rememberable. He still got it. He can sure move and dance on stage. His piano and guitar playing are amazing. Sure he is older, who isn’t. It just makes him that much more amazing to see. I’m only 42 years old and I love him. He really loves his audiences and talks to them and goofs around with them. How many performers in Las Vegas do that? I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and I make it a point to tell everyone how great it was.

It is well known that Newton's voice has long been shot. One could argue that he never was much of a singer...that being said, this show IS entertaining! I wasn't even a fan AT ALL when I saw him, and I was still completely entertained. If you want to go see a great singer, by all means don't go. If you want to see a very entertaining show with good musicians, etc., by all means, go see this Vegas legend.

He should have retired years ago. SOmeone should tell him he is embarrassing himself.

Saw Wayne Newton at the LV Hilton on 7/9/05. Ordered the tix in May and were very pleased to find ourselves n the front row. While Wayne's voice is not what it was, he put on a HELL of a show. He is a true American legend who is as talented as anyone in the music industry today. The band, backup singers, and Delisco (winner of Newton's "The Entertainer") were great. The banter between the folks on stage made it clear that they all love and respect Wayne. Good humor, first rate music for EVERY taste(rock, gospal, C&W, bluegrass, showtunes) and showmanship made this show a winner. It started with a rousing rendition of Viva Las Vegas. A salute to our nations Vets and current troops brought a tear to the eye and made one proud to be an American. If you're in Vegas when Wayne is, do yourself a favor and check out this wonderful show!

amazing that people think the show is great. It is a terrible show with a guy that can longer sing. Move along and let someone else have a shot. We saw Wayne back in the late seventies when he was still great. This current show is a pathetic shell of a man. Save your money and try something else

Even though Wayne's voice is fading, he puts on an excellent show. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

OK This is a tough call because Wayne Newton can no longer sing...He puts on a good show ..plays some banjo and croaks his way thru a few songs...most of which he is drowned out by over amped very loud music...Half the show is him telling stories and talking and glad handing and smootching little old ladies...The backup singers are great...Over all it is a good entertainment..but do not expect much singing from Wayne Newton himself..

He should have quit some time ago. His voice cracks and his pipes are shot.

He is a great entertainer, but his voice is gone. It is sad.

A big turn off: His 'cruising' the audience to kiss all the women he can. I mean dozens! Why do these women want to share germs with him and all the other women he's kissing? I'm not talking about cheek kissing - I'm talking right on the lips.

The show was well worth the $65 (including tax) ticket price. The backup band was fabulous and Mr. Newton is an excellent musician and showman, who really knows how to connect with the audience. However, I would like to have heard more singing and playing, and less talk. Wayne did not sing very many of his best known songs, which is probably just as well, since his voice sounded somewhat weak and scratchy, and he missed a few notes. I could have done without his ultra right wing political lecture, but I guess we all have the right to express our beliefs. The highlight of the show for my wife and me, and (judging by the applause) the rest of the audience, was when he sang the little known Merle Haggard song "For a Little While," accompanied only by his guitar. His guitar work on that song is really something to see and hear, and the song suited his voice as it sounds today. Overall a good show.

I LIVE HERE IN LAS VEGAS FOR TEN YEARS AND ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE WAYNE NEWTON ..WELL SOME OF MY FRIENDS FROM NEW YORK WHERE COMING TO VEGAS..SO I THOUGHT LETS GO SEE WAYNE NEWTON .THERE WERE SIX OF US ALL TOGETHER ...WELL AS SOON AS WAYNE CAME OUT AND STARED SINGING ..WOW WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT..HIS VOICE WAS GONE ..WE ALL LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND SAID DO YOU THINK WE COULD GET OUR MONEY BACK..WE DID WALK NEXT DOOR THE THE WESTWARD HO AND TO OUR SUPRIZE IN THE LOUNGE THESE TWO GUYS THEY WHERE CALLED SAM AND DANNY ..THEY WERE THE BEST ACT ON THE STRIP THEY DID IT ALL THEY WERE FUNNY AND ONE HAD A VOICE THAT BLEW US AWAY HE'S THE ONE WHO LOOKS LIKE BURT REYNOLDS..ANYWAY YOU DON'T HALF TO SPEND A TON TO SEE A GOOD SHOW ...SAM AND DANNY PROOFED IT

I think the Wayner should have retired years ago, wish someone would tell him that instead of letting him embarrass himself on stage. I was one of many people in line to get my money back as well..

No voice, cheesy beyond words, if you are under the age of 50 you will hate this show. I was one of 9 people IN LINE to get my money back...gawd WAyne..quit already!

Went to see Mr. Las Vegas at my sister's urging, she's a big fan. We bought our tickets about 6 hours before showtime that night and got fantastic seats right next to the front of the stage! My sister and I are late 30's/early 40's and we really enjoyed the show!!!!!!!!!! For those of you who poo-poo'ed Wayne, shame on you!! The man is in his 60's and puts on one heck of a show! True, his voice doesn't have the endurance it once did, but he is a SHOWMAN and very talented in every sense of the word! And since I was right there at the front of the stage I could personally see just how hard this man and his group worked to entertain the crowd. Wayne has some very, very, good backup singers and orchestra. The last hour Wayne does comedy skits w/his band members and plays several instruments. He does work the crowd and isn't shy about dolling out kisses!

Go see Wayne while he's still able to be in Vegas. He is now trying to fulfill the shoes of Bob Hope as the MC for the USO tours for our troops. If nothing else go support him for that endeavor!

This show was almost 2 1/2 hrs long. Sure his voice is not what it used to be but I rated it high b/c of the reasonable price, the length, the material he sang, his enthusiasm to entertain but most of all his personality. He seemed to be a very personable person. He went around the room talking to people, kissing the women and shaking men's hands and even giving out champagne to people who either had b'days or anniversaries. We only paid 58.00 w/tax p.p. and it was well worth it.

Mr. Las Vegas is a must see. Don't listen to previous posts, his voice is fine. He is a true performer. I am only 26 and I enjoyed his show a great deal. If you want to see a real Vegas show this is the one to see.

I took my parents to Las Vegas during the New Year's holiday. Since we had already seen most other shows, they insisted that we see Wayne Newton on the Sunday night after New Years. They had seen him about 10 years ago and mentioned that his show is excellent.

Before the show began, I suspected we might be in trouble when the announcer welcomed everyone to the fabulous "Stardust Theatre".

Once Mr. Newton started his first number, we thought that the noise of the band was making it hard to understand his singing; as the show progressed we realized that Wayne no longer had the voice to make himself heard with or without a band. Note that for Wayne's 2nd number, he spends about 20 minutes traveling throughout the audience shaking hands, hugging and kissing - perhaps this is something that should be reserved for an aftershow gathering outside of the theater.

While Wayne is a good showman, with a great ability to play various musical instruments, my mom led the three of us out of the show after about 45 minutes of pure torture. We were not the first to leave early either.

Don't waste your money on this show to see the Stardust Theater, with our without Wayne Newton.

Just for fun, I took my wife to see "Mr. Las Vegas" over New Years.We thought it would be neat to see a "Legend" perform! Being that we are in our late twenties, we are by no means fans,nor have much knowledge of his music. This is by far the best show we have seen in Las Vegas to date! Wayne gives more back in energy and electricity in the first two songs,than any other show. He works the crowd from start to finish and meets and greets everyone along his way! Not only does he have a great band to play with him,He plays most every instrument along the way. Yes his voice does crack here and there, but he easily makes up for it! A great show for anyone who loves music with some comedy thrown in to it.

I went to see this show with my wife and sister at the insistence of my mother. A lifelong Newton fan. I remain shocked that word as not gotten out at how Mr. Las Vegas' singing voice more resembles a drowning cat channelling Joan Rivers drinking corn liquor, than his old "Danke shein" days.

Wayne's "act" consists of corny interaction with those old enough in the audience to look past the fact that he can no longer sing and is basically catering to an ancient demographic with his Rightwing political humor.

The "finale" was Wayne finally racing through quick renditions of his past hits. Accompanied by a loud band that did it's best to mask his faded joke of a voice.

Everybody in the audience with an anniversary story got a free bottle of champagne. I would have settled for a free refill or a stronger drink to get through this lousy show.

Mr. Las Vegas should become Mr. Shady Hills and just retire.
