Date Seen: 09/08 - Bad Show Beautiful people and a lot luxury mixed with exhibited corpses... What a strange world, the one we are living in,these days. I would like to think there are still people with good feelings and common sense.Or I'd rather think that most people, ordinary people, like me,are provided with both, common sense and good feelings, but also cheatful innocence. There must be some hidden and dark powers in this world, that wants to turn everything, even the most sacred, not only in the religious sense of the word, things, into a show.Up until now,it was considered as a work of art,the pictures of Picasso,Goya,Manet,Renoir,Dali, etc.or the sculptures of Rodin,Miguel Angel,Botero and even those of a little bit more difficult to understand and vanguardist artists. What is really amazing is planning to have a nice and delightful day ,going with the family or your beloved person,to see real human corpses,or better said"Bodies, the exhibition" The author of this weird exhibition has wanted to add to the fictitious scientific interest,an artistical touch ,which is perfectly remarkable in the poses of some of the human corpses. In my mind ,this man has carried out his darkest, and secret fantasies with the support and the blessings of the authorities,of all kind,of all around this world. In addition to this, the provinience of these corpses is very doubtable, all from China.May I be thinking wrong if I think that in all this, there may be,very well hidden, racism? There is also the suspect that they all come from prisons and camps of concentration,in China, according to the researches made by defenders of human rights and that their families have not given the permission to dispose of them, neither scientifical ,nor let alone,to be a part of such a macabre and chilling show.As chilling as the looks of Von Haguens, the author of the show, and the factory where he creates all his megalomaniac work.He is getting rich with this, and has had a great success.Good! It is said that his next project is "The plastination city"also in China, the inhabitants of such city shall be all corpses. What I think is that if this man had not the support of very powerful people,he would, most probably,be treated psychiatrically. I wonder who is going to be the next Von Hagens and which shall be his megalomaniac and applauded projects? <rosarosalonso -at- hotmail.es> - Madrid SPAIN - Added 09/13/08 - [195.77.128.***] 7912 Date Seen: 03/08 - Good Show Great exhibition. It's unusual, but in a way it's beautiful. The mood is hushed, reverent. It's well worth the time spent viewing the bodies and organs. <llinder123 -at- yahoo.com> - MN USA - Added 03/17/07 - [69.42.226.***] 7582 Date Seen: 10/06 - Good Show THIS SHOW IS A MUST SEE. BEFORE LEAVING LAS VEGAS, GO CHECK OUT THE BODIES EXHIBIT, YOU WILL LOVE IT,...AMAZING! <cairy25 -at- hotmail.com> - Richmond CA USA - Added 12/08/06 - [131.216.163***] 7149 Date Seen: 10/06 - Good Show This is a very unusual exhibition that will not appeal to everyone, but it should! I did NOT find it too clinical, but then I have some background in anatomy--and that's where the "should" comes in. If you don't undertsand your own body and how it works, get educated about it, and these displays can help a lot. The bodies are truly amazing, and the fact that they are posed in motion acts helps us to understand how complicated every action can be--and how little things like carpal-tunnel can make us miserable! There is a "warning" about the fetuses, but again, this is how our lives started and is a must-see for anyone contemplating sexual intercourse! <loxjocks -at- aol.com> - Coarsegold CA USA - Added 10/09/06 - [207.200.114***] 6953 Date Seen: 09/06 - Undecided Not really "people" oriented. Everything is listed in medical terms with the official name - you have to read alot & interpret to figure out the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, etc. --- All the official medical terms are listed first and explained in that manner. So if you "work at it" then you can continue to read & start to put the pieces together. I think it would be better done to say "Pancras" up front (and list medical term next to it), etc. - that way the normal everyday citizen could relate to it. I spent at least an hour going through -- trying to absorb it. Friends of mine went thru in a 1/2 hour as it wasn't very exciting -- they didn't wan't to have to "work at it". Really think it needs to be done in more everyday "people" language that we can relate to. <didixon -at- bellsouth.net> - Madison MS USA - Added 10/02/06 - [209.215.60.***] 6938 Comment Disclaimer: No attempt has been made to verify or assure the accuracy of the above comments.
