This show is a BLAST! I've been 3 times and I've laughed until I cryed each time. If your not a prude with a stick up your ass, you'll love this show! I will definetly go again and I recommend this show to my friends all of the time. Very crude, not for kids, fucking halarious.

The only people who don't like this show are people who are easily offended, or who are douche-bags.
How anyone could walk out of The Amazing Johnathan Show disappointed is beyond me. I went with
friends on Saturday night and laughed so hard I thought I was going to pee myself! If you have a good
sense of humor...and I don't mean the snob kind of sense of humor, then you must see Amazing
Johnathan! He is freaking hilarious!

The show is not worth the price. Venue is a dive, Johnathan appears high, and disheveled. Maybe 40 people in the audience. I do not recommend.

This is my favorite comedy magic show in Vegas. I had a great time!

It was an awesome show, he was even funnier than the last time I saw him. It had been a while since I had seen some of his Comedy Central shows and he has added a lot of new elements, but also maintained a lot of the great gags from his earliest shows!! I highly recommend this show to anyone looking for a great comedy show! Loved every moment of it!

The Amazing Johnathan is a favourite with Aussies visiting Vegas. He's been to Australia and on Australian television and is hugely popular so when I have friends or family here we always visit the show. It's always bloody great, the energy is huge, we laugh all the way through and are never disappointed. The great Johnathan has such a huge "off the wall" personality and the interaction with Psychic Tanya is great but last weeks opening Comedian didn't set up the audience at all well. It was a relief when he'd finished. Overall I loved the show and don't hold one bad opening act against it. Just wish it hadn't been the night I was there with friends. Bruce D.

Love it the more I see it. Paid $75 to get in the first time I saw it with my friends and we all loved it. Would
see it again and again. The best part of the show is walking out thinking to yourself, "He never did a single
magic trick... maybe just one" and somehow - it all works. 10/10 Go see it!

This is one of my favorite shows on the strip. It's very rare to find such
value while getting to see a veteran household name of television quality like
Johnathan. This is one of the few remaining old style, live Vegas performers.
Johnathan cracked me up at one show that was done very clean, for a special
event, and he did his regular PG-13 material at the most recent show that I saw.
Both were great!!! He really connects with the audience, and Penny is simply
hysterically funny! Original, creative magicians are hard to find in Vegas.
But, Johnathan is the exception. A hilarious act that I've been watching my
whole life, and, yet, here he is, so accessible. Great comedians, believe it or
not, are hard to find in Vegas, as well. Once again, AJ fits the bill.

He leaves it all out on the stage, and, during meet and greet after the show,
there's no denying that he put everything that he had into that show... EVERY
TIME!!!

He also supports everyone in the industry, by hosting different variety magic
revues on his dark night. Not many others would give anyone else a shot at
working in his room, but he just has that much confidence in who he is, and how
rare opportunities are.

It's not a stage full of boxes and props... Johnathan has journeyed a road less
traveled, and he's come out on top. No wannabees here, he's found his audience
niche, and he doesn't disappoint.

Not a lot of more accessible performers in Vegas, this is your chance to really
see and experience star power. Don't settle for a hyped up, billboard act that
you've never heard of. Vegas should be special, Johnathan makes it that way.

It's truely an 'Amazing' show with so many unique bits that keep you in stitches the whole time. Great timing and audience interaction, Johnathan can really role with the punches. 'Pychic Tanya' convincingly portrays the part of the ditzy blonde assistant with her air-headed comments and physical comedy.

Johnathan's show is a one of a kind comedic trip that brings you into situations where you shouldn't laugh
but have to (someone falls down the stairs and you laugh even though you are not suppose to, this doesn't
happen in the show but an example for my review.) He is also a very personable guy after the show
signing autographs and talking to his audience one on one. Psychic Tanya is the perfect sidekick who
doesn't have a clue what is going on and is a great addition to the show. I would recommend this show to
anyone and everyone who wants to laugh and have a great time. I will go back again and again!

Saw the show with my husband and sister and we laughed from beginning to end. Not that much "real" magic a la Copperfield but as we'd seen the poster outside we'd not expected that. We wanted to laugh, feel good and be entertained and that's what happened. I laughed so much I hurt His assistant "Psychic Tania" was fab and a talented comedienne in her own right. We loved her "Mae West" look and "dancee dancee". The audience was smaller than I'd expected but the theatre is small and intimate, which could be a little dangerous if you're a bit shy.
Not sure how long the show lasted but it flew by and every minute was great. But don't expect to see Tigers, Doves or dancing girls. It's more "Sean of the Dead" than Paul Daniels which is great. If you're English, expect the kind of magic Frankie Boyle or Johnnie Vegas would offer. The unexpected bonus is the opening act. The night we were there it was an enchanting Australian Magician who my husband fell in love with but I bear no grudges. D.M.

compares to seeing his show live.
It truly is AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen him many times and always get a laugh. No show like his in Vegas. If you haven't seen him go to the Harmon when you are in Vegas. You won't be dissapointed.

I was very lucky to see Amazing Johnathan in Feb 2009, and again in Feb 2010. He has to be the best performer in Vegas. He capativates his audience, keeps them on the edge of their seats on what will he do next, and is up close and personal with all in attendance. A trip to Vegas is a waste if one does not attend Amazing Johnathan. He has a fan for life with me.

First saw Amazing Johnathan on television in Australia (Hey Hey...) and had my socks knocked off - so different to any other comedian I'd ever seen. Even on television he could shock me into helpless laughter. I was thrilled to see his show advertised at the Harmon in Vegas, and can honestly say I went rather more than once, and loved it every time. Even when I knew what was going to happen, I'd still think.. "NO NOooooooo - he can't do it!!" but he did, every time, and every time I'd collapse laughing. At one point he said "here's the line - now I'm going to cross it.. and that sums everything up. Magician? Yes, he is, but don't expect the standard stuff. His whole show is magic, because it's the craft of the unexpected, and very powerful stuff it is too. I've seen the show numerous times, so would I go again. Oh yes, in a heartbeat. Just buy me the plane ticket, and I'll be there.

By the looks of the posts here it looks like some people didn't like the show much but when you read
those negative posts it smacks of a pissed off child and not a level headed reviewer trying to be helpful
to others making a decision. Especially the several ALL CAPS posts.

The Amazing Johnathan has been here in Vegas for 11 years. We first saw him at the Nugget when he
was tearing it up downtown and we have seen him at The Harmon Theater. Not much has changed. He's
still the abrasive fast witted lunatic he ever was. If you are a moralistic, politically correct type...you will
hate it. If you like it served up dark and edgy...there's no better act working today.

Don't listen to the people who were obviously directed to write these horrible reviews...go see for
yourself. Better yet, watch his Comedy Central Specials first and then make up your mind. It's the same
deal live.

If you go to only one show when you go to Vegas, got to the best show in Vegas " The Amazing Johnathan" !!!!!! You have to go see Amazing Johnathan, I see his show every time I go to Vegas, and each time it is more funny then the last!

This show is incredible. Its a little magic a little comedy, and a ton of fun. I have seen all the comedy central specials and have seen him in person at the Harmon Theater. You laugh from beginning to end and the audience is highly involved. It can get a bit crass at times but it just adds to the edgy part of the show. It really is great and is a combination of everything you love about comedy and magic. Highly recommended.

This is by far the funniest show I've ever seen, especially if you have a twisted sense of humor. All the pussies that are butt hurt over crude humor should stay home that cant handle the show and complain about it on here, get a life!!! And yes its not a fucking magic show thats why its called comedy magic. best show for sure going back on march 3rd

WENT TO SEE THIS IDIOT ON 4/18/08. THIS WAS THE WORST 'SHOW', IF YOU WANT TO CALL IT THAT, IMAGINABLE. I'D ESTIMATE CLOSE TO A THIRD OF THE AUDIENCE (OF WHICH THERE WERE PROBABLY ONLY 50-60) WALKED OUT BEFORE IT WAS OVER; I ONLY WISH WE DID TOO. THERE WERE NUMEROUS BOO'S. FIVE OF US GUYS WENT, PAID $75 EACH, AND WE ALL THOUGHT IT WAS A FARCE. THIS GUY HAS NOOOO TALENT WHATSOEVER. SOME OF HIS 'COMEDY/MAGIC' INCLUDES ASKING ACTING AS IF HE HAS A 'BIRD' UNDER A HANKERCHIEF, AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE HIM FLIPPING THE BIRD. SO IF YOU FIND THAT FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING...GO FOR IT.

WASTE OF MONEY! After seeing him on tv previously, we were so disappointed. He hardly did any "magic" at all. Just stupid humor. Plus, if you wanted any drinks you had to leave the room & go in the lobby (which in this case didn't matter). No one took drink orders in the room. Plenty of other shows to go see -- skip this one -- no bang for your bucks! We only had one night in Vegas & wished we had picked something else.

The Amazing Johnathan puts on a side-splittingly funny show. I laughed harder at that show than I have at any comedy show I've seen in 10 years. The Amazing's assistant Tanya was absolutely perfect. Yes there's a little adult language and some suggestive themes but I think any kid over 13 could see the show without sustaining major psychological damage. HAA! Love Ya Johnathan! REALLY Love Ya Tanya!

Love Jonathan so dam funny and Psychic Tania is fabulous. I guess judging by the mixed reviews on this
board that this is an either love it or hate it show - We loved it!
The only bad bit was we were to told get there early for good seats - so being dumb brits we queued up
early and were led to a central seat but quite a few rows back, judging by the people around me a lot of
people were annoyed by the seating - I guess we should have slipped $$$$$ into the hand of the person
who seated us if we wanted better.

Oh man that was funny as hell...some good tricks. I loved the bunny it was funny as hell. THANKS FOR THE AUTOgraph. Yea im 14 so it was really funny. I want to follow in your footsteps

4 of us went to this show. 2 of us LOVED it... 2 of us didn't care for it. Truly a difference in comedian style. The best part was getting the tickets for half price made sitting through the show a little more bearable.

We had heard this show was going to be funny and off the cuff. It wasn't; quite frankly, this show was a big ol' waste of time and money. We expected a bad magician done by a funny guy, or some clever tricks by a kinda corny magician, instead we got utterly predictable tricks by a guy who was painfully unfunny. The only real trick he performed was charging $60+ a ticket and then disappearing.

Save your money and skip the Not-so-Amazing Johnathan.

We see Amazing Johnathan every year when we go to Vegas. The BEST show around for your money, especially when we are able to snag the half price tickets every time. If you are easily offended, STAY AWAY. He picks on everyone, and yes, women too, but is very funny. And I say that as a woman! I'm not sure what some of these posters saw, but he's good enough that I keep going back, and I'll be back to see him again at the end of June, '07...I can't wait!!

The show was hilarious!! We also saw a another popular magic/comedy duo while in Vegas, and they paled in comparison.

The only thing I would take away from to keep this from being a 10 was the fact the show started late and it was some time before anything was even mentioned about Johnathan being late. The excuse was that he was pulled over and then it turned into his car broke down. We were about to leave like several people did but I'm glad we stayed. I had told my girlfriend about him and mentioned that he was performing just down the street from our hotel and that I'd like to see him. She wasn't real sure about it but I got tickets anyway. It turned out that she had a wonderful time and said "we couldn't have found a better show". I'd recommend this show to anyone willing to partake in some rather off beat humor and at times extremely bad magic. BUT!!!! That's what he does best and it works.

I was worried my wife would get offended by Johnathan but that was not the case. We thought the show was great. If harsh language bothers you than pass on this one but if it doesn't bother you than this show will make you laugh till it hurts.

This show is NOT for everyone, but I loved it, and I am a middle-age, intelligent, educated woman, with a sense of humor. No one is safe from Jonathan's barbs, and they tell you that right up front. If you check your hang-ups at the door, you'll laugh 'til you cry. No need to pay for the VIP seats--it's a small theater.

This was terrible we sat through almost all of it and when we saw others leaving we made our break. Tipping did not help in a better seat. This show might be funny in Iraq. The abuse of woman in this show was just not funny.

I thought the jokes were funny. He is not a real magician as I thought he was. He is mainly a comedian. Be prepared for a lot of the "F" word though. You have to be able to take a joke. He does pick a volunteer and brutulizes the poor victim. It is done all in fun and the audience loved it. Some of the jokes were very funny. I did like it, but I would probably not see it again.

The Amazing Johnathan is the best show in town. The Review Journal has given the show an A- which is the highest grade they have given to a comedian here in Vegas. They are picky as hell too. He's the best thing we have here by far. If you like him on TV you will LOVE him live!

Who is writing these comments?! I bet it's Jonathan himself. Who else would care about how much money he makes or his relationship with casinos? For the record, his show is the same show he's been doing for the past twenty years. It's OK, but it's the same. If you've seen him on Comedy Central, you've seen his show. The only difference is he's fatter. The night I saw him at the Sahara the room (I wouldn't call it a theatre) was only a third full. I got my tickets thru' half-tix. Make sure you don't pay full price as he's on the half-tix boards every day. Hope this helps.

I've seen him several times and everytime I have he's had new stuff in his show. Don't listen to the bad reviews in here about new material. They don't know what they are talking about. It just shows they havent really seen his show and are in here because the competition has put them in here. Most acts in Vegas don't ever change their shows but AJ does. He has a new Karate routine that's awesome and he's always great!

Amazing Johnathan generates the kind of buzz in Vegas that he has on this message board and that's cool. You love him or you hate him. Usually if you are a devout christian, politically correct, or just some jealous moron posting hate gibberish on message boards then you hate him.

If instead you like your comedy fast and furious and you don't care about the occasional language (yes, he's a potty mouth) then you will love him.

He is one of the few comedians, aside from Penn and Teller and Rita Rudner, that has made it here year after year. Where ever he plays, he fills the showroom at an impossible time slot and that makes him valuable to any hotel.

I read that when the Hotels get too greedy he moves on and that's cool. He does things his way or no way at all. It seems to work for him since he's making more bank then most acts here.

Like his act or not, AJ has style and wit and will probably be here longer then all of the others cheesy acts. Go see the only true rowdy show in Vegas and ignore the others who should have spent their time and money at Celine's show.

I've lived in Vegas most of my life and recently moved to St Louis but I can tell you all about what the entertainment is like from a non tourist view and AJ does it his way 100% or no way at all and that's balls to the wall comedy. It's why he's one of the few acts in Vegas to make the real bank.

If you like adult humor, this guy is good. Its not a show I would take even a teenager to, but I laughed throughout the entire show. I can see where some might take offense to his jokes, but if you like your comedy with an edge....this is the show.

Well, judging from all the past reviews, it's safe to say that you either love the guy or hate him with nothing inbetween. If you are on the sidelines about catching his show, one might have to watch one of his TV specials to get an idea if you want to see 90 minutes of his act. There are 2 seating prices and we bought the "golden circle" tickets, which means you get to sit closer. Our ushers looked "old Vegas" and had a habit of placing everybody in the worst spot. Did we have to tip them for a better seat? We moved from our crappy table at the extreme rightside of the stage (couldn't see a thing) and snuck over to better seats in the middle. We have seen his show before at the Gold Nugget and like his style of humor. The current show at the Sahara was a 85% repeat of the previous show we saw last year, but he added in a clever kung-fu movie action skit which was fun to watch. The only gripe is that he really needs to update the production values of the show to 2005 standards. Other than that, we liked it.

First of all , the corn on the bottom of my foot is funnier then Jonathan! I got in for free and it was a waiste of time! Childless humor, Flipping the bird? every 3 mins? yea thats funny! NOT and the Blonde was not funny in the least! I have waited for a yr to see him , after seeing him on TV and thinking he would be funny. Folks save your money and time, he was pathetic! I am giving it a minus 10 ..Pathetic!

This show doesn't have good magic or good comedy. Wasn't worth it at half price. If you aren't a frat boy
skip this one.

We saw variations on this show in 01 at the Golden Nugget, 03 at the Flamingo, 04 again at the
Golden Nugget and now this year at the Riviera as it is our favorite comedy show in town. Each venue
and its staff has its advantages and disadvantages. Almost a wash. Getting there early is fun as there
was a little pre-show. Amazing Johnathan is twisted not only in terms of the usual sense, but many of
the jokes have surprises built into them that make the fans of comedy like us who have seen everything
appreciate this guy more. Some swearing and some stuff over the line, but it somehow makes the
evening more genuine. Once at the Flamingo we were seated next to an old couple and the man had to
leave half way in as he literally peed himself. Many people just laugh and giggle continuously and there
are three or four huge laughs in the show where we sort of see coming and look around the room to
prepare for the roar. Not for everyone though if you are proper or sensitive or politically correct as he
sure isn't.
He took the Siegfried and Roy puppet show out of the act which was absolutely hysterical and we miss
it. Also not as much blood as there once was but I hear his halloween season show is pretty gory.
When we drink, the show is funny, but we have started to watch sober because of all the subtleties
underneath the belly laughs. His set-ups to punch lines also seem to act as punchlines. He never
drones on for thirty seconds just to get you to a weak little punchline like so many others we have seen.
Much of the material he does we have seen before numerous times, but it is the spontaneity and the
little variations of the timing that make it enjoyable to watch again. His blonde sidekick seems to
improvise quite a bit...we never know if he is mad at her or pretending to be mad at her character but
in any case they really seems to be there live as opposed to phoning things in and the new audience
volunteer he has every night seem to keep the Amazing Johnathan fresh and make for new ad libs and
new scenarios every night. Some of the act is well honed to comic perfection but toward the end he sort
of tries new things and rotates stuff in and out. He did a ninja thing that shows promise that we never
saw before. He used to rotate numerous warm up acts but no longer has anyone open for him. Some we
saw were great, but usually we just want him to come out quicker. We got his autograph after the show
and had a nice moment with him and the blonde. The guy before us in line sort of complained about
how he wanted more new material and the guy after us complained about how he didn't do many of the
old classic bits such as sawing his arm off with a knife. Johnathan just looked at me, pointed at both
guys and the ironic look he gave me was priceless. Just a very funny guy within that menacing persona
who really tailors to different crowds exceptionally well. We're looking forward to 2006.

This show was a disappointment. First we were seated in a comedy club show. Actually I have seen better comedy clubs. We were crammed into stackable cushion chairs. No permenant or nice seating. Then after 15 minutes when the show was to start, bad video type cam picked out audiance members and insulted them for cheap laughs. some where funny and some were plain juvinille. Then he started probably at 10:30 for a 10:00 show. At first he was funny and got some laughs, then it progressively got stupider. I wish I would have picked a better show. Fortunatley I got the tickets at the Coke 2 Tickets for one both outside the coke store on Las Vegas Blvd. Now I know whey they were 1/2 off. Shows that can't sell off probably do not need to sell thru them.

Ok, first of all , you can completely disregard the horrid comments below because this is one of the best shows in vegas & is very entertaining. If you don't like edgy comedy, are over the age of 60, or are a bible wielding conservative, then I'm not sure why you are even reading this review much less considering seeing the extrememly talented Amazing Johnathan. It is bewildering why people that have no idea what they are going to see, have never heard of Amazing Johnathan, and are just up tight in general, go to see this show and then come back here to bash it as if it's the worst thing on earth. I can tell you that if you have even the slightest clue of what you are going to see, like original comedy acts & vulgar magic with a twist, are open minded and want to have a good time, then you will absolutely love this show. I, my wife, and my friends went to vegas this past week -- yes, we've heard of Amazing Johnathan, and jumped at the chance to get tickets when we saw them for sale at half price tix on the strip. We've seen bits & pieces of his comedy acts on comedy central, but definitely did not know what to expect. I'm happy to say, that he has put together an excellent act with a lot of new material, with barely a dull moment throughout the entire hour and a half -- at times we all found our selves laughing to the point where it was painful. There were just so many great moments in his act that I can't begin to name them all -- case in point, we found ourselves saying the next day how great it was over and over again, and that we were so glad we went to see it.. we were actually making little jokes from the show for the rest of our trip in vegas -- IT WAS THAT GOOD. Don't let any of these two sentence bashing reviews hinder your decision, because they are nonsense --- Nobody left our show, it was almost at full capacity on a wednesday, and the majority of the audience seemed to be dying laughing the entire time -- I think that is all that needs to be said. I believe it's clear that all the press you read about the Amazing Johnathan show is dead on -- One of the up and coming best acts in vegas, probably the best & most unique comedian around, and very very entertaining. The sum it up, we loved it, highly recommend it, and truly feel sorry for the tiny number of people that can't understand or appreciate such an excellent vegas show.. Thumbs up all the way!!!

This show isnt't for everyone but what show is? Jonathan has lasted this long in Vegas and that's saying something for his act. He is the only comic magician who has headlined in his own showrroom in the history of Vegas, all the others were just a part of a revue act or were in a lounge. He has taken what he does to the very top and I'm sure reads these negative comments and laughs all the way to the bank. I've seen his house and car collection on the Travel Channel so I know this is true. His fan base keeps growing by the day and Comedy Central still plays his specials almost every month so he's doing something right.

This show STINKS big time!!!

The soud system stunk, and Amazing Johnathan mumbled thruout the whole show, the only
amazing thing about Johnathan was how bad he was !!

The only bright spot was his female side kick.
