I was very eager to see this show, having read some of the reviews. However, I now think that entertainment value must be a cultural thing. I should say that most of the people in the audience seemed to enjoy it, but to me it was like a brilliantly lavish "Frat-House" talent night show - right down to the throwing around of toilet paper. I found it also annoyingly repetitive - drumming, drumming and more drumming. I was incensed that I had wasted time and money on it. I came to the conclusion that Americans must be starved for different types of entertainment - but also remembered that this was a country where grown adults can find a food-fight at a restaurant good entertainment. If, like me you are looking for a memorable occasion to mark your holiday time in USA, avoid this like the plague and just accept that while Americans may enjoy it, others will find it childish, boring and repetitive. I am sorry I wasted my money and only stayed till very close to the end when it was evident that it wasnt going to get any better.

The best show my husband and I have seen. We love the audience participation elements. The humor reminds me of the TV series Seinfeld in that ordinary things (marshmallows and twinkies)and actions are funny!! Good music but you may need the earplugs they provide. We were 3rd row center but I don't think any seat would have been a bad one. Loved the finale! I think the show would appeal to all ages. Whether you like it or not depends more on how willing you are to venture away from the traditional rather than on age. This show is an experience! I would see it again.

My wife didn't like this show at all. I thought it was somewhat unique and entertaining at best. Certainly not worth $90 per ticket. Not only that but the night we attended they had some serious technical difficulties in the beginning. That had no bearing on the show. --BV

I think that the Blue Man Group show is one of the most inventive shows around. I've seen them in Chicago and in Vegas, and both shows are wonderful.
That being said, the show isn't for everyone. The show is very loud, so be prepared. Also, there is no story to follow, it's just a collection of skits played out by the guys in blue.
All in all, the music is interesting, especially when you realize that they had to design their own instruments (most of which are made out of PVC Pipe), and then learn how to play them.
P.S. For those who have commented about the late arrival guests being "embarassed." Trust me, they aren't embarassed. They are picked from the audience before the show begins. It's part of the act.

Good show, worth the money if your not usually a big spender. Not for everyone. I would say if you don't have a willing suspension of dis-belief than this show is not for you. Please don't go drunk if you can't hold your beer. You just come off as an a**hole. You don't need booze at this show to have a good time. I have never been to a tractor-pull or a wrestling match and I hope I never go to one but I found this show to be amusing and don't need to make myself feel better by using big words. You should not feel dumb for enjoying this show.

From the posts on BMG, it's obvious that most people either love 'em or hate 'em. I would like to say that I can understand that, but I'm afraid that I cannot! My date LIKED BMG, while I HATED them – A LOT! In fact, it was probably the worst excuse of a show I've ever seen, and that's even including The Amazing Jonathan! I can't begin to explain how or why I managed to sit through it until the end. However, if you saw how they humiliated the poor folks who walked in late, you'll probably understand my reluctance to try sneaking out early!
Okay, to be fair, the show did have a few funny and entertaining moments, but for what they charge for what you get ... well, it's hard to find the words! Thank goodness, we had free tickets!!! Even then, I was very happy when the ordeal was finally over. In fact, I didn't begin to feel human again until we left the Luxor, walked thought Excalibur, and finally made it out into open air! The only thing more disgusting than the show itself was some of the attendees. Evidently, there weren't any tractor pulls or wrestling matches taking place that night, so the mentally challenged seeking abysmally low cerebral entertainment were in great abundance. As they say, audience participation is encouraged, and some of the spectators take this as meaning that they're part of the show. If the ignorance on stage isn't enough for you, the show taking place in some of the seats should truly satisfy. Loud, obnoxious, rude, and crude is worshiped as an art form here.
Even if you can somehow find some sort of redeeming quality to the show, how much is it worth? Is it worth $25? How about $40? Is it still a good show for $70? At some point, even the most ardent fan has to realize there's something wrong with this picture. For me, free was overpriced. You have to figure this one out for yourself.
My ears and possibly my mind (?) have pretty much recovered by now, and I'll probably appreciate all other shows a bit more than I would have before. I am trying to be kind! Enjoy!

I wouldn't recommend this if you are over 45. The music appeals to a younger crowd, rocking rhythm and "blue"s. It was very funny, good props, surprises around every corner.

We saw BMG and Mystere. I didn't think there was any comparison. BMG was awesome.
My wife liked it as well but was a little bored with the humor (I say it just her dull sense of
humor, but I digress). This was a show that when I left, I felt like I could party the rest of

After reading these reviews, we decided to go to see BMG. The reviews were dead on. It was AWESOME. Totally worth the money. All four of us thought so.
If your old or grouchy, don't go, you won't like it.
It's very entertaining. The drums are AMAZING. We loved it.

No matter what language you speak or where you are from, the blue men group puts on a great show.
It was fun, very intertaining, the music and lights were great!
The paper eveyone was involved in made it so much fun for everyone to enjoy.
Any age would enjoy this show.
We stayed at the Luxor, a fantastic hotel.
We loved the shows there, the hospitality was so wonderful, we want to go there every year.

This is one of the most original and creative shows I have ever had the pleasure of seeing and hearing. Not only is the show flat out entertaining, it is at times thought provoking and contemplative. Not that you are required to put that much thought into the performance, feel free to sit back and enjoy the most enjoyable music coming from unique instruments invented by Blue Man Group. The theater is incredible. I don't know when I have heard a better sound system--feel the music. This show is a must for audiophiles and music fanatics. What most people don't get is the fact that BMG takes every day objects and normally ordinary or obscure topics and put them into an eclectic format that is humorous, harmonious and just flat out fun. Audience participation certainly will have an impact on the outcome of the show, but lighten up and have some fun. All of the others whining about BMG were likely the same one's wetting themselves applauding at the mostly overpriced, overrated, stuffy and boring "O". BMG is unusual. If you don't walk out of there feeling good, you're either angry because you missed the senior grand slam buffet or it's time for a fiber supplement.

This show is all about audience participation! If you have a good audience, you will have a great show! I think our audience was a bit stodgy. We did go to the 4 PM matinee and so there were a lot of kids. (The kid behind me kept kicking my seat, wiggled and talked the whole time.)
They - the BMG - really respond to the audience. If you make noise, they react. It is funny, interesting, thought-provoking, and strange. Also, loud. They do provide ear-plugs so if you are sensitive to loud music, pick them up.

After the pentium 3 commercial I felt they would have to be seen.
Good show, but you need to like noise. Your whole body shakes with the sound.

Please save your time and money and avoid Blue Man Group at all costs. At first, I thought they were very original with their ideas. But then it gets old Really fast. I just didn't "get" all the hype they have received. Here's their show in a nutshell: they have shaved heads with blue latex paint encasing them, and they play percussion. That's about it. Oh, and the music (if that's what you want to call it) is terribly loud. I am in my early 30's so I do enjoy rock, but I just didn't appreciate their performance. I think they're cons posing as artists.

this has to be one of the worst shows i have seen other than siegfried and roy. as a user below commented, it is an insult to your intelligence...they hit the nail on the head with that one. they basically are making money doing NOTHING...it was incredibly boring and absolutely horrible. i would have rather lost my money in a slot machine, it would have been more enjoyable!

This was a festive show! We took our daughters (ages 8 and 10) and they thought it was great. The show is hard to describe, because it is so different from anything you have ever seen! They do a good job getting the audience to participate in the show (and I mean the WHOLE aduience!). It is a visual feast. But beware: they hand out earplugs at the entrance of the show for a reason. It is a very loud show, so if you don't like loud music, drums, etc. this show is not for you.

Blue Man Group plays here in Boston, and I'd always heard it was a fantastic show. I ended up buying tix for the Vegas version, two months before our trip there. We had 12th row center tix, which were great. However, I'll have to say I was honestly underwhelmed by the actual show. Some of the skits, such as the marshmallow and paint ones, were cool. I also enjoyed how they embarassed the late arrivers (the energy of the crowd was great too). But other skits, such as the 3-card one, were fairly boring. Also, I felt the toilet paper skit was something they just did to pass time.
I've heard BMG Vegas is a collection of skits from their shows in Boston, Manhattan, and Chicago. Perhaps this is why the overall show wasn't that great- perhaps those other versions offer a better flow.
If you're going to pay $85 for a show, go see Mystere at Treasure Island. That is more beautiful and impressive, and offers a better value. I would only see BMG if you are intent on seeing a show and have checked out all the better ones.

Very bizarre, very unique, very enjoyable. I even got my name in lights! There is no way to describe this act, but it was fun and very memorable. There were a few dull points but overall it was very good. I highly recommend it to anyone under the age of 55 (I am 50). It is very loud at times! I liked it better than Seigfried & Roy, which was too predictable.

I HAVE SEEN THE BLUE MAN GROUP TWICE SO FAR ONCE IN VEGAS ONCE IN NEW YORK AND AM LEAVING FOR VEGAS TOMMORROW AND HAVE GOTTEN TICKETS TO SEE THIS SHOW AGAIN. I paid $87.00 for my daughter and I to attend this show. She is 15 years old and she did not like the show. The show was OK but I would not recommend it to anyone because it was not worth the price. If it costed $30.00 or less, I would recommend it. If you have a hearing problem or losing your hearing do not go to the show unless you wear some ear protection. There is a lot of drum beating music and is very loud thoughout the show. The only thing that was really interesting was the toilet paper fiasco towards the end of the show. However, if you are claustophobic let the theatre workers know so they can sit you in the balcony. You will avoid the toilet paper. Anywhere you sit, the seats are good.

For literally 2 YEARS I had been looking forward to this show. BMG were VERY disappointing. If you've ever seen a performance of STOMP, you've already seen BMG.
For a pure techno beats experience, you're better off going to a Rave and checking out the DJs and the beats they spin than wasting the $90 on BMG. BMG should not cost more than $40 for what they offer- 3 guys in blue oil paint bang drums with about 12 backup drummers to make a perfect percussion booming experience. The grand finale of BMG invloves them banging drums to the song Last Train to Trancentral by the Justified Ancients of MuMu (also known as the Timelords or the KLF)and dumping a ton of tissue paper on the audience. They would be soooooo much better if they would bang out their finale to CURRENT techno tunes... especially if they're gonna charge $90 a ticket. at those prices, they should be able to afford whatever the RIAA would want from them in royalties.
Save your money and see a different show.

I found this show to be insulting to my intelligence. I think that many people say they like this show because they don't want to "not get it". Well, I didn't get it, I thought this show was incredibly stupid. The best part of the show was the interaction with the helpers before the show started, other than that it was a waste of time.
This is the first show I have ever walked out of after 45 minutes because it was so bad, I do understand some people like the show, that's great, but don't assume this will appeal to you.

Very entertaining, unlike anything else. This show is LOUD LOUD LOUD. Hearing protection is mandatory. The sub-woofers actually cause your clothing to "rustle" when they beat some of the drums. They aren't joking about needing ponchos in the front 7 rows but they provide them. Good value.

The show was a lot of fun. I don't think its for everyone but we did enjoy it. Does have audience participation which for most I believe was fun. It is very loud and does have lots of strob light effects. My husband that suffers from Migraine Headaches was bothered with these lights some (did not have headache that night). Not a show I would pay to see twice but did enjoy it.

This was the first Vegas show I had ever seen and I was not disapointed. When I asked the ticket guy where our seats were he showed us that they were way in that back corner. Then he asked us if we felt lucky, tore them up and gave us new seats aprox. 6 seats back from the stage and in the middle! The music is awesome & heartpounding. The skits were sometimes funny and others made you think how did they do that? Two times they brought an audience member onto the stage so be ready! The only thing I didn't like was the ending although my husband liked it. It requires the particapation of the whole audience so I could not pay attention to what the Blue Men were doing. I would definately go see it again.
After the show the cast + Blue Men came out and let people take their pictures with them so bring a camera! I wish I did.

I really loved this -- I had their CD and had seen clips and was looking forward to it. Really an out-of-body type experience. Not for people who object to loud music, don't like being covered in crepe paper, or don't care for people with blue face paint staring at them. I love the mix of comedy/drama and music. You get to meet them afterwards and do the photo thing -- they're very flirtatious!!

The show ended on a fun and entertaining note. I agree with an earlier writer, I thought the show was very slow getting started. I think if you go with the idea of enjoying music, presented in a unique and often funny format, you'll get what you expected. There are obviously some in the audience that treat the group as an almost "cult" experience, so it can get a little annoying that they often cheer over next to nothing & laugh, maybe because a blue man glanced sideways. Audience participation is a highlight! I think the price is a little high compared to other great shows such as Mystere.

BMG is entertaining from start to finish. The Blue Men kept me in a state of anticipation, just wondering what was coming next. The skit with the Twinkies was so clever and much of the audience was giggling throughout. The grand finale(which I won't spoil for anyone planning to attend the show)was loads of fun. We were all kids again during this show and that is what made it so appealing to me. I will see this show again....definitely.

I have seen every major production show in Vegas(Cirque de Soleil O! Segfried, Mystre,and FX)these were a waste of money! The Blue Man Gruop beats them hands down this is one show i will go see EVERY vist to Vegas. Get your tickets early for this most likely it will be sold out before you get there!

Very nice show. We have seen it 3 times. With the ages ranging from 12 to 72. The kids liked the visuals and sounds. Adults liked the inuendo type humor. Well worth the money.

We are 4 visitors from UK who at considerable effort managed to get tickets for BMG. What a waste of time and money! It was by far the worst show we saw in 2 weeks in Vegas.We thought the music was brill but the comedy was juvenile and not in the least bit funny.Spending an hour passing tissue paper back is not my idea of entertainment sorry. Maybe we have a different type of humour across the pond but this is a warning to fellow brits who maybe tempted DONT.

It's a good show but I thought it was overpriced. All it did was take me back to the 60's with their use of black lights for effect. The music is unique and the comedy is enjoyable. I just didn't find it lived up to it's ratings for the price.

This show was great!!! Anyone who walks out not enjoying it must be a grumpy old hag. If having fun and laughing does not appeal to you maybe you should not go to this show. Maybe you would be better off staying home and not going to Vegas in the first place.

I have been to shows in Vegas for 25 years Plus and this is the first production that I was very disappointed in. I do not need to pay $80 a person to have food thrown at me and disgusting food fights by the performers. How does that take talent? The money for Cirque de Soleil and O! and Siegfried, etc. is money well spent. Blues Brothers was a waster of money and all of the 8 people I was with felt the same way.

I love this show! I plan on seening it again on our next trip! It's hard to describe, but I found it very funny and even thought provoking in some parts. I don't think there's anyway to do it justice in a description, you just have to see it!

I guess i'm one of those cult-type fans... but that such people even exist should say something about the quality of this show...
Some people 'don't get it', but it's not a show to 'get' in the strict sense of the term... even if you think it's weird, the Blue Man is, in his own way, someone anyone and everyone can relate to... just don't take it too seriously because things can get pretty deep and then all of a sudden the rug will be pulled out from under you with a fresh joke, as if the Blue Men were saying... "Oh, come on, it's not THAT meaningful..."
Also, this is a show which you can either enjoy on a shallow level, enjoying the comedy and the GREAT music, or it can become something deeper... about the human spirit... at least that's what it means to me. One minute you'll be thinking about the state of modern society and the next you'll just be laughing as a Blue Man begins to saw a Twinkie in half.
So, all in all, if you are open to seeing the ordinary twisted into something totally different, if you are open to examining your own soul and psyche while laughing your head off, or if you just want to feel like a kid again, I'd say Blue Man Group won't disappoint you.

Awesome! A totally different direction for the Vegas norm. We spent alot of money to see this show and it was actually worth it. I didn't feel that we had simply paid the standard high dollar fee for another Vegas review, I think we really got our monies worth. The show is inventive and plays upon all the senses. The music is powerful and the characters moving. I felt like I was in a drug haze for the finale. Don't miss this show if you are under 45! You might not appreciate this show if you are an uptight person, but, my wife thinks I'm anal and I loved the show...so who knows. It's different for sure. Hopefully other casinos will note the success of Blue Man and try something beyond traditional magic, comics and showgirls. If the sound track is cool!

Saw this show awhile back but still remember how bad it was....loud and overrated!! Many sketches were outright BORING...what's with all the audience participation at Vegas shows....we paid to have YOU entertain.......Clue#1..earplugs were provided in the lobby..Several people (including my wife and I) walked out halfway through........
