He is definitely crude and there is no magic -- mostly jokes on the poor volunteer he brings up on stage and the audience. The blonde he had working with him was hysterical. We liked it but wouldn't see it again and not sure we'd recommend to others.

Horrible- rotten- boring- emberassing- disgrace... what other appropriate words can I say.

Every bad thing said below is true and he was kicked out of the Flamingo. He claimed to have a multi-million dollar gig at the MGM but it appears that he is now having trouble even getting in to one of those seedy joints down at the Freemont Street Experience... does his reputation proceed him?? I think so!!

No casino wants to hire him- and no one should want to see him. Please do yourself a favor and see Penn and Teller if you think this is the kind of stuff you want to see. Ther are legit.

Although I have seen AJ many times over the years (including his time in the smaller clubs of the 1980's) and yes it normally is the same show (mostly) over and over (most comedians don't change much over the years if they are successful that is what they use and this works for AJ) for some reason on this night his show was a AAAA+ the opening act was a magician (top rate) and he was in a semi nice suit putting on the full dog and pony show. He was a class act that evening and those with me who saw him for the first time are ready to go back again. And we were in one of the front tables but lucky not in his sites for the evening.

I have to admit that his sidekick Tonya is a good addition.

If you haven't seen his show on tv, this is a good show. Be prepared to tip the maitre-d's for a better seat. They purposely don't sell tickets at the front tables so the staff can make some money and people can get better seats.
As I've said good show sick humor, silly stunts, be warned he chooses a volunteer from the first few seats.

Ok, after reading the other commets. I will agree. It really is the same show as on Comedy Central. I love his act and I would consider myself a fan, but he does need to get new material. Even Jerry Seinfield (Who I can't stand) get's new material everytime he performs.

I recommend the show if you have never seem him on tv. We paid $93.00 for balcony seats and gave the guys seating us $10.00 and he moved us to the front row. I guess I can handle paying 103.00 instead of 130.00 in which it would of cost me had a book those tickets.

I will say this. I at least got my picture taken with him.

I liked Jonathan's blue "X" rated comedy. (My wife was a bit turned off.) The highlight was sitting at Table 1 and being picked to go upstage! 45 minutes ---thank good I had a few beers! I really found him to be funny and a good guy at heart. His ditsy blonde sidekick almost steals the show. A good value.

Although I'm a fan - I expected him to deviate at least slightly from what I've seen on Comedy Network - nope - EXACTLY the same, but now with the dirty words added.

Sure I laughed. I love to laugh. But it wasn't anything new.

Also - I paid $117 for 2 tix through the box office, but needed to grease the palm of the italian mafia man seating us to get more than an extreme corner table. I hate that..... I all ready paid out of the nose, and now they steal my boogers, too. House was NOT full, and there was more than enough seating to get everyone a center view.

No. Would not go back ever again.

I saw him when he was first starting out back in 1981 in a local Chicago club. He's still doing the same show! Really needs new material. Also, felt he added a sidekick (Tanya) because he's just run out of steam.

The only time I lost in Vegas was when I put down that $60 to see that pile of CR@P!!!!

I thought I was a fan, but- HEY- WRITE SOME NEW MATERIAL!!!

My friends went to see that loser Celine and I laughed at them... after the show I was crying because I probably would have had a lot more FUN seeing that boring old sold out windbag than this coked out loser!!!! Amazing my @SS!!

He must be doing something right since he was given a new contract at the Golden Nugget for 3 years at big bucks! I do hope he is not a "coke whore"- "say it aint so jon!" He has trouble when challenged by female audience members. As a female some of his act is lacking substance even after seeing him several time over the past 15 years I still will go see his show if nothing else than to play with his mind if I get near enough to the stage to do so even if its just to amuse myself that way. He can be offensive but if you are not thick skined then he is not the act to go see -- but I personally take him with a grain of salt.

What can I say about "The Amazing Johnathan." Well, just about the only thing amazing was my patience. Seating there listening to cheap penile jokes for 1 hour and 50 minutes, I could have gotten a better deal with a joke book at the 99 cents store, I got robbed! I came with the intent on seeing a way out there in left field type magic show, i.e. his bloody hand being cut, etc. What I got was a guy, who ran out of gas and does not deserve a headline show on the Las Vegas strip. If I got to see this show for free I would rate it a one, but the fact I paid 50 bucks for this garbage, I rate it a minus 10. Celine Dion might have been a better choice after all.

Even though I knew what to expect from reading all the reviews, I still didn't feel comfortable at this show. You feel like he might insult you at anytime or pick you out of the audience to come up on stage for one of his humilating acts. I found him funny but all the other stuff stupid and vulgar. I would not go to another show and would rather catch him on television where he is funny without all the vularity.

Attended the show 1/19/03 at the Flamingo. It was a good show if you have never seen The Amazing Johnathan before. The gentleman that opened for him was entertaining. The Amazing Johnathan's material is exactly the same as anything you may have seen in the past few years. A couple of the gags did not work that night, and since we knew what was coming we knew it didn't work. Disappointing.
