We reserved our room 6 weeks before we left from Seattle. I had emailed the hotel asking if they did promotional things for special occasions, I recieved an email back saying upon arrival we could recieve an upgrade.....cool. Apparently that meant i could pay for one if i wanted. Not cool. We got to our room and it was 2 quuens non smoking. Funny, i thought we said king smoking. Went all the way back down so they gave us 2 queens smoking. If i would have know how nasty the smoking rooms were, i would have stayed in the non. you could see the smoke dripping off the ceiling. the air was so think in the room practically unbreathable needed some bad circulation.

So started gambling, no luck. We each took 500 for gambling alone. so that was 300 a day total and we were trying to recieve points. I hit one thing on the nickle machines one time. No luck at all. I was so pissed by 11 every night that i couldnt even play on 20 in a nickle machine for more that 15 min that we would go to bed.

So i will not be staying here again, id rather pay a few dollars more and stay somewhere nicer and with looser slots. But there werent alot of kids, and the cafe and the italian place upstairs were wonderful, but overall ill try somewhere else.

First stay in the Excalibur and we weren't disappointed. Received an excellent rate thru hotel website (Sat 79.95, Sun-Tue 30.95/night). I've paid substantially more at Hiltons and Marriotts in other cities and didn't have as clean and/or nice of a room.

Standard room is nothing fancy, but is well furnished and extremely clean (especially when you consider the 1000's of people that have probably stayed in the room beforehand). Housekeeping was excellent. Ammenities in the room included: iron & ironing board, hair dryer, hotel size shampoo/conditioner and lotion, plenty of towels, 25-27" TV, table and 2 upholstered chairs, comfortable bed (1 king or 2 queens), radio/alarm clock, large bathroom with vanity, walk-in shower large enough for 2 (no tub), dresser, mirror, nightstand.

Our non-smoking room on the 21st floor had a partial stip view and a view of the mountains. We never closed the curtains so we could see the lights on the stip at night and the mountains during the day.

Didn't eat in any of the hotel restaurants, but the food court on the 2nd level above the casino has a nice variety for a quick bite (McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Quiznos, Cold Stone Creamery, Krispy Kreme, and a few others).

The medieval theme is kind of hokey, but it's all in good fun. The casino is bustling and a little worn around the edges, but we had good luck at craps and slots, and drink service was decent.

I look forward to another stay at Excalibur.

Staff extremely helpful. Security at hotel room entrance, checks everyone going in. Rooms clean, I had a great strip view. No tubs, but shower is huge. Slots VERY TIGHT. Did not see any big/medium winners. Tournament of Kings show fun. All the little shops interesting and fairly priced. This is my third visit to the Excalifur and would DEFINITELY go again.

We stayed at the hotel from 12/24/03 to 12/29/03. Overall, it's a very good stay. You definetely get your money's worth at this place. The room service and valet parking service are very efficient. I would stay here again in the future.

Our visit to Excalibur had a rocky start. I made reservations for two rooms. One room was required to be a handicapped room with a roll-in shower, to accommodate a wheelchair. When I made the reservation, I made it clear what my requirements were. I was told “No Problem”. You are paying for one night, each room, in advance. So you are guaranteed your rooms. It was suggested that I call approximately one hour before arrival to take advantage of the Kings Window Express Check in.

One hour before arrival I called. The man who I spoke to confirmed my rooms. When I asked for confirmation of the roll-in shower, I was told No. “Those rooms are all gone. You are to late.” I tried to explain about my situation but it was to no avail. He continually told me that he couldn’t do anything for me because all the roll-in shower rooms were gone. I asked to speak to a manager. After being on hold for 10-15 minutes, he came back on the line and told me that a manager wasn’t available because they were changing shifts at that moment. I told him that I would be there in one hour and to explain the situation to a manager. He calmly told me OK, your rooms will be ready in one hour. I once again told him, that the one room was not correct and will NOT work.

When I arrived, I went directly to the counter. I got the eye of someone and explained the situation. The question I asked at the desk was, “Why do I pay one month in advance for a particular room and then I am told, you were to late, and all those rooms are gone.” They had me talk to a Supervisor. I have to tell you, she was wonderfull!! Pam Daubert, Hotel Operations Supervisor. She took care of us. More than 100%! She worked hard to find suitable rooms for us. She ended up putting Mom and Dad into a Parlor Suite, with a roll-in shower. Image that, a roll-in shower room still did exist. She put husband and I into the connecting room. Both of these rooms were very expensive but I didn’t have to pay anything more than what was originally quoted. We were VERY PLEASED. The rooms were OUTSTANDING!! The only draw back, was that we had to move, after one night, into our regular rooms. They were planning on doing extermination on the floor of the suites and had to get all the guests out. Moving took awhile, but it was OK. The bellhop was nice and he brought us the new keys. We didn’t have to go back to the desk to get new keys or sign anything more. They took care of us.

The food at Excalibur was very good. We ate at the Café. You will get large portions and the service was good. We also ate at the snack bar. The tacos were great, especially at midnight after having several beers. The Tacos are large and tasty.

The bar near Tower II has the best swing shift bartender, George. He was wonderful. He remembered all of us, from one night to the next. When we walked up the second day, he remembered what we drank from the previous night and asked if that is what we wanted again. I played at the bar a lot and I NEVER had an empty drink.

The gambling was good. I got a Royal at the bar, the first night. My husband played the tables and the gambling, like usual, was up and down, so was the cocktail service. One shift would be great and the next poor. Mom and Dad played the slots. The first night it was good and the second night, not so good. I found the staff to be wonderful. Everything we asked for, we got.

Overall the visit was very good. We are planning on returning in January and will stay at Excalibur again. I do recommend Excalibur, especially if you have special needs. They seemed to go out of their way to accomodate us.

I was in Vegas for a week during my stay I stayed in Sahara, Orleans and Excalibur. Excalibur had less smokers and an excellent Buffet(dinner time only)
but it has one of the worst and unfriendliest staffs I have ever seen specially in their restaurants. I tried the casino and it was paying off good on slot machines but stay away from the tables.
From now on I'll just pay more and stay in better hotels. (you get what you paid for) I am coming back to vegas in DEC 2003 and JAN 2004 and I booked my rooms in Orleans and Rio, their rooms and service are much better and their young hostesses wear thongs which is very nice and I noticed at Rio they have a section where female dealers wear thongs plus the free casino dance show that they have so its time for me to say goodbye to all the 40-50 year old hostesses at sahara and Excalibur and say hello to 20 year olds !

I have to admit that I was little worried that our stay here wouldn't be all that great, but now that I just spent a week here I have gotta say that this place gets a bad rap and is really underrated.

We booked a room here because the price was outstanding during a convention week when every other property had highly inflated prices. And the Excalibur turned out to be an outstanding value. The room was very clean, tasteful, and seemed to be recently renovated. We had an outstanding view of the strip from the 27th floor of Tower 1, and the service was also very good. Anything we asked for was promptly attended to. And since the kids are in school right now, there was hardly any rugrats running around.

The cocktail waitresses at the tables kept 'em coming, and the booths in the back of the keno lounge may very well be the best place in Vegas to get a whole bunch of "free" drinks just one right after the other making this a great place to get drunk on the cheap. Just make sure you tip the waitresses!

Overall this was a good place to stay, especially for the money.

This was a wonderful hotel to stay in. Room was very nice (we were in Tower 2) and the staff was very helpful. Great location and we found a room at a decent price. Casino seemed like it had terrific pay-offs (though I didn't have any luck) and the cocktails were great -- though expensive. Food was a bit pricey in the cafes too.

The room, decorated in Medival fare, was spacious and the bathroom enormous! Lots of little details like a plush bathrug, extra bottles of shampoo and lotion, hairdryer. We had a terrific view of the moutains from the 21st floor. And yes, use the express checkin! Wow, that in itself was worth it.

Overall, great place. Definitely family oriented yet saw few young people.

We had a very enjoyable time at the Excalibur. The rooms were clean and there was not a lot of kids. I called ahead to get registered (we were at the airport getting on the second plane about 2 1/2 hours away from Vegas and they let us register so we didn't have to stand in the long line to get into the hotel). It was fast and efficient. I don't have the phone number I called, but there are other comments on this site that give the phone number to call or just call the hotel itself before you leave home and ask about the early sign in. We have nothing negative to say. My 24 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time. We would stay here again.

We had a great time at the excalibur and will be going back next year. We reserved our room 4 months in advance, then they sent us an email saying the rates were cheaper and they changed ours with no problem. Also we were in Vegas to get married, and told the lady at the front desk and upgraded us to a jazzuci room with a view for no extra charge for the whole week. Well be going back to this place1!!!!!! It was great time. our bridal party, and family stayed at the excalibur also for the week and they were all up graded to a view room for free that was about 12 rooms all together

While I didn't stay at Excalibur,(I stay at Luxor and Mandalay Bay) I did do most of my gambling there. I come to Vegas 3 or 4 times a year...and this place gets most of my gambling business. Why?? It's good location, and the casino pays out. I have won alot of small jackpots(400 to 1000 bucks) with the slots. Casino a little worn around the edges...and drink service is slow at times, but most of the drink girls are good..just don't forget to tip them. But who cares about that if I am winning.

Was our first time to Vegas the room was clean and in good condition the wait to check in was not long despite the number of people in the check in line (wish I had called from the airport to use the express check in kings lane will know better next time) maybe 15 min. or so. The casino was nice and in theme, both the wife and I had good luck at the slots. If the one club is down at all properties go to Mandalay Bay and get a Temp card as we were told on the second day of the three day they were down. If you want to go further than one of the connected hotels Bus is the best way and the cheapest $5.00 for a 24 hr pass and the 302 is the express, if you take the 301 expect an hour ride

I have stayed at several hotels in Las Vegas, some just OK and some excellent. The Excalibur fits just about in the middle, but more good than bad. The good was being upgraded to a room with a view for only ten dollars more a day, and the size of the bathroom. The only bad that I really can think of is the long walk from registration to the towers. If you call in the morning of your arrival and give them info you can check into the hotel at the Kings Window Express and save yourself a few minutes. It was an enjoyable stay and there wan't an emormous amount of kids like I thought there would be. I would stay there again.

Guess I gamble a lot, because I have received numerous free room offers, and have taken them up on it. Have a good relationship with VIP Services Mary Beth Easter. She takes care of any problems I have with my comps. Have earned tons of comps, can always eat there free, as well as Luxor or Circus Circus The Steak House(excellent) Have so much fun on slots, have been lucky. Am going again in May, and have also received another free 3 night offer. Love this place, easy to get around, enjoy the security at the elavators. (Can't be too safe) And the people at the comp desk, are so nice and so friendly.

This was our first visit to Las Vegas. My wife is not a big gambler, but I love to play blackjack. I am more apt to go to Atlantic City being from the Philadelphia area, but have always wanted to go to Vegas. We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights and truly enjoyed our time. Since I am the sort of guy who plays the $25 tables and typically plays $25-50 per hand, I found that they were quite generous with the comps for me. I never payed for a single meal and also got tickets to two shows as well. The comedy club was fair, but otherwise I loved it. We also liked the fact that there was a monorail to connect us to the Luxor and the Mandelay Bay. I would return here again and would recommend it to anyone else as well. Our room was clean, fairly large, great view of the strip and the staff was incredibly friendly. It was a great experience and I will definetly go there again.

My DH, DD (11), DS (10) and I stayed at Excalibur two nights (a Monday and Tuesday), June 2 - June 4, 2003. Check-in went quickly, although we did have to remind them about the coupons that were supposed to come with the Father's Day Special Rate we booked (the coupons were printed with our names and expired at the end of our stay, first time I'd see that done). We were extremely happy with our stay in Tower II. Our room, conveniently located, had a view of/faced the backside of part of the castle, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. All in all, we've had worse. I prefer showers to baths, so I enjoyed having a full size shower without a bathtub. Our room was clean, although not perfectly so. The theming is carried into the rooms via the decor. Staff were friendly, effective and efficient, I have nothing but positive things to say about them.
The pool area worked well for us, because I sunburn extremely easily, but one of the pools is in the shade in the morning. Also because it is shaded, it's a lot easier to find a chair (most people prefer the pool with the slide that is in full sun). I will say I didn't notice any more children at Excalibur than at any other hotel & casino we visited this trip, but it might have been the time of year. I love Excalibur's location on the strip, and with all the people movers and walkways leading to nearby hotels & casinos, it's easy to move around. We didn't eat at Excalibur at all (except for the Tournament of Kings Dinner Show -- great fun), but there is a food court and snack bars along with other dining options. My children really liked the Arcade & Midway. I noticied that it is slightly less expensive than the Arcade & Midway at NYNY. It's also easier to win prizes here. Last but not least, my children loved staying at Excalibur and we all agreed that we would be willing to stay here again.

Upon check in, the girl at the desk was very pleasant, and check in was a breeze. She asked me if I wanted a certain kind of room, and of course, I got the room with a view. I knew my children would love it, and they did. Buffet was great, shops were great, and even the convenience to the Luxor, and Mandalay Bay was awesome. My husband, kids, and I loved our stay at the Excalibur, and would recommend it to anybody, especially those with children.

The Excalibur is a nice hotel for the price. The location is good because of easy access to the MGM, NYNY, Monte Carlo, Luxor, and Mandalay bay. The rooms are clean and have standard amenities. The pool area is expansive and that makes it easy to get a spot to lay out. Great place for kids, because of the game area and the Renaissance theme. I went to the "Tournament of Kings" jousting show and it was a lot of fun. Not a bad value, since it came with dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.
The downside of this hotel is the size and layout of the property. It is a long way from the parking lot to the front desk and also from the front desk to the rooms. Easy to get lost, because everything looks the same. Obviously, if someone doesn't like a lot of kids running around, then this is not the place.

Once again we returned to our favorite city after what was the most horrific winter in NH. The Excalibur is just right for us. The rooms are large and clean and we have always found the housekeeping staff to be helpful. Bathrooms are humungous which is a big plus. We always ask for a room in Tower #1 overlooking the airport and they are always accomodating. Room rate for our last visit was $45.00 per night. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF THE EXCALIBUR PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING. CALL AHEAD ON THE DAY OF YOUR ARRIVAL AND GIVE THEM ALL THE NEEDED INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. UPON ARRIVAL YOUR ROOM KEY IS WAITING AT THE KING'S WINDOW. This is such a great service I always wonder why more people don't use it, especially when I see the huge lines at check in. By the way check out can be just as easy.
Always, always use the valet parking. It is by far the most courteous in all of Vegas.
Casino is generous or it has been to us over the years.
Sir Galahads for Prime Rib is as good as it gets.
Sherwood Forest is the only downer for us as the service can be unfriendly and extremely slow at times.
Buffet is a C, not great but not horrible. I wouldn't go out of my way to get there but I wouldn't avoid it either. For a truly great buffet try either The World Buffet at The Rio or The Big Kitchen Buffet at Bally's.
Tournament of Kings is well worth the price.
Comedy Club lacks something, try the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana accross the street.
We can't wait to return in July

My husband and I recently visited Las Vegas with his brother and sister in law. We stayed at the Excalibur and really have very few complaints. We arrived after a very long day of traveling to find our room to be more than sufficient. It was small, but it was clean and we had a fantastic view - with the least expensive room. The room did not have a bath tub- just a stand up stall, but it was very large (as large as a tub). For the price of the room, it was just as good as staying at a Holiday Inn type hotel. We stayed from Friday until Wednesday and children over running the place was not an issue. I never saw any kids in the halls or anything. There were kids around durring the day - but no more than at NY, NY (accross the street) or a lot of the other hotel/casinos we visited. Children obviously were not in the casino area. The casino and decor of the place seemed great when we got there, but not as great after visiting some of the grand hotels like Mandalay Bay and Belagio. I will say this though, we are pretty big gamblers, and the Excalibur Casino is really the only casino that any of us won money. We actually went home with more than we came with which is a plus. The location of the place is wonderful. Sky walks and trams make it easy to walk everywhere. Walking to the other end of the strip is a hike - but only a $5 cab ride. We walked there and cabbed back. In the end, we have very few complaints. They only had one line open at check in - even though we did the call ahead check in - we still had to wait in the line to pick up keys. The alarm in the room did not work, and when we called (twice) for wake up calls we did not get calls. We look forward to staying at the Excalibur again. It was safe, convenient, clean, fun, and the price allowed up to spend more money on better things!

Going online reading about the Excalibur Hotel and all of the excitement of the shows, restruants and other features is what sold me on staying there.
I was truly disappointed by this hotel. It is too over rated.
We were so traumatized by the lunch we had at the Round Table Buffet, we canceled our plans to eat at the King Authors Dinner Theatre out of fear. The food at the buffet was horrible, tasteless, bland and dry. We won't even discuss desert. :(
I have a bad ankle and severe back problems. The parking is stupid. The guest parking garage is so far away, I thought it was attached to another hotel. When we entered the tower we had to "hike" up a ramp. Like I said, I have ambulatory problems. I found that to be quite insulting to my situation. You had to hike this ramp to enter the casino or almost trot to go down to get to the elevators.
The rooms had a view of the top of the towers and roofs. Whoopi!!! some view. The lights were so bright I couldn't sleep thinking it was dusk all night long.
There are no safes in the rooms. They are at the front desk. Who wants to hike back and forth to the front desk everytime you'd like to use your safe. I am not pleased at all about this hotel. I will not stay there again nor recommend it to any of my friends. "Maybe my enimies" what better way to get revenge huh?

Great place. I have stayed at Excalibur 5 times and will continue to. The rooms are fine. I just ask for a deluxe room and I get it. That gives us a little sofa so we can sleep 5 for the price of 2. Hee, hee. The casino is nice and hasn't changed much. I've hit several small jackpots ($500 - $1100) but not a taxable. The service is average. The location is excellant. I do all of my gambling in that area. If your planning your first visit to Vegas, Excalibur is a great place to start.

Our stay here was great!! The bathrooms are large. We had a nice view of the Luxor and the airport. The casino has an area for non-smokers, plus we won a little here. On one day it rained [all day], but we were able to walk back and forth to New York and the Luxor, also took a tram to Mandalay. WE will come back to the Excalibur!!

My husband and i came here for our 10th anniversary and we picked it for the good price we got online. We came in the middle of the week so it was not crowded at all and it's close to the airport. We had no problems checking in and no problems with our room. It had a nice view and it was very clean. No frills but everything was comfortable. We recieved our two for one buffet which was a welcome surprise as we were starved from traveling. We walked right into the buffet with no waiting at 3 in the afternoon. Hardly anyone there. The food was actually pretty good but very basic and lots of things kids would enjoy. The desserts were not so great though. The service at the hotel was wonderful- especially in the gift shops which are quaint and had a great gift selection. This is a great family oriented hotel that we would definitely bring the kids to next time. They would love it! Boys especially love the knights etc. and the kids would love the game room. Free shows all day in front of the buffet area. The casino was okay too and the kids could play in the game room downstairs while parents gamble. Overall it was a great experience.

We found the hotel and its staff quite friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed the Buffet the hotel had to offer, liked the location and closeness in relativity to the rest of the casinos too. The one thing that ended our trip with a bad taste was the hotel driver that took us to the airport, he drove like a maniac, I had to hold on so tight to the seat by me that my knuckles brused brom the pressure, this disappointed me especially I regarded this as the thanks for leaving all those dollars behind. That SOB was the only person who I did not tip.

We stay at the Excalibur at least once a year. It is inexpensive and we feel right at home. What we dislike is the fact that the change exchange booths are usually closed and we find ourselves trekking clear across the the opposite side of the casino only to find it way too busy or closed also. There seems to be a lack of people who wander thru the casino making change for you, and heaven forbid if you need help while at a machine. The wait is way too long. We wish there were a non-smoking room in the casino. Although we try to find machines that are away from smokers, invariably someone will sit down next to us and light up. We are non-smokers and find the smoke to be offensive.
When I made the reservations, I was told about an express check-in. But, when trying to call, there was no answer. I tried for hours without any luck. I also sent an email that went unanswered. So, I believe the service here to not be up to par. This will not stop us from staying here again, however because the atmosphere really is quite nice.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at the Excalibur. The room was very spacious, had a great view and there was a lot to see & do at the hotel itself.

A lot of people had warned us that the Excalibur is swamped with noisy kids. However, during our stay in early October, we found this not to be the case.

Biggest complaint was that they stuck us in a smoking room overlooking the middle of the castle (great view of the A/C units on the roof). We don't smoke and the place reeked. Bathroom was clean, though and maid service good. I liked the casino and the bartenders were friendly and hustling. Sports book a little small, but the staff was nice. I would have stayed here again except for that smoking room problem. What sucks is that the marquee says ROOMS AVAILABLE flashing, but the desk clerk did not seem to try very hard to get us a non smoking room.

This is the only place I will stay in Las Vegas. I love the security of having to show a room key to the guard just to get into the towers and the location is great . The Steakhouse at Camalot has Outstanding Service and is reasonbly priced. My first trip out I was stranded by a storm and the airline placed us in a nasty cheap motel and my friend and I called Excalibur, explained our situation and asked for our room back, which they gave us at a discounted rate.Staying here is like coming home.

Check in and out went quick and smooth. A great value and a great location at $39/night. Have stayed at this place 6 out of the last 10 times and would recommend it to anyone.

The Customer Service here sucked. This is the email I sent them.

This is the 3rd time we have flown on vacation and we have always used Fun Jet. We find what we want on the internet and book with our local travel agent. We really like this and the vacation values we have received through this company.

We just returned last Thursday from a 4 night vacation in Vegas that we booked through this agency.

When we checked in Excalibur, the Funjet check in was not available but we did have a very nice front desk clerk ... that ended there. The room key wouldn't work (now we were almost to the end of the hallway and it was very warm and we had all ready been out in the hot weather for almost an hour waiting on the shuttle). So my boyfriend went down stairs while I stayed in the hallway upstairs with the luggage. They sent up a security guard to use their pass key and this didn't work either. While we were waiting for maintenance with the security guard, the maintenance called her and told her to jam the key in and wiggle it. It finally worked after fighting with it. They said they would be up to look at it but to get into the room and turn on the air. The air was on highest setting when we got in the room but it was still very warm in the room. There was a partial roll of certs, burnt matches, a cigeratte butt, and trash on the floor and other places. The floor behind the bathroom door was filthy as well as the exhaust vent in the bathroom. While we waited for maintenance, we checked out our coupon book. The hotel advertised that we were to get (at check-in) a buy one get one free buffet. It wasn't included so we called the front desk and they said it was only part of the internet deal but I had the print out and it didn't say that and then they tryed to say Funjet was suppose to give it to us. I said it didn't say that, it said at check in. We finally after a 45 min. wait got a visit from motel gentleman who gave us new keys and a coupon for a buy one get one free meal. The key still didn't work without jamming it into the lock several times. So we notified the hotel again that the key didn't work properly. They finally got a maintenance man up there. He was very accommodating and tried very hard to fix it. But he could only get it where we didn't have to wiggle the key when we jammed it in. We still had to try several times and jam the key in it to get it open. Now we had unpacked during this waiting period. We called and informed them that the key still wasn't working as it should and the process we had to go through to get the door to unlock. At this time they offered to move us. After we had unpacked and about an hour and half had passed. Not!!

After being out and walking till about 3 a.m., after going through the process of jamming several times we got the door unlocked. The room was still very warm. With it on the lowest setting and on high, it should have been cold or at least very chilly. It wasn't. So the next day we called and asked for them to come and check it out. It was totally dirty - clogged. They did clean it sometime while we were out and it worked better. So we thought we were getting somewhere.

The next day we decided we would call and let them know that we appreciated them cleaning the air conditioner. But to out dismay when we returned from our daily outing, the air conditioner had been turned off. The room was unbearable! We called and let them know that we did appreciate them cleaning the air conditioner the prior day but it had been turned off (we guess by the maid) and it hadn't been turned back on. Denise was the main person (she said she was a supervisor) that we had been dealing with at the hotel all this time.

To our disappointment, this motel surely put a damper on our vacation. And apparently you are not concerned with your guests comfort and satisfaction.

I believe your agency should be aware of these problems in order to curtail these potential complaints in the future and hopefully to get the idea that no matter how many times that you must address a customer’s needs, the customer is most important.

Hello everyone. This is my first time reviewing on this site. My husband and I stayed at the Excalibur one week after 9/11. Vegas was very different at that time. Casinos were empty, and I have pictures of the strip in the middle of the day. No cars!! We had a great time, although many of the "free" things were not in operation. For example, volcanoe at Mirage, Treasure Island pirate show. We really like staying at Excalibur. The rooms are always clean and decent in size. The medieval knight show is fun, we have gone to that twice but wont again for a while only because it doesnt change a whole lot and it is I think a bit overpriced. That is about the only complaint I have about Vegas. The buffets are outrageous in most places. Gone are the good cheap buffets. It costs us just as much to eat as it does for air fare and hotel. Oh well. I love the desert and if you are visiting and get a chance to rent a car, go to Red Rock Canyon. It is beautiful. And Mt Charleston is great too. Send me an email if you would like more info on either of them

Rooms are very average, paid $10 a night extra for a "view room" which overlooked Las Vegas BLVD and Tropicana BLVD. Called ahead from the airport for express check-in, but only one person was working the King's Window, so it actually took longer to check-in this way than if we hadn't called ahead! Most of the employees didn't really seem to care if we got any help or not at the front desk, and at the luggage check. Other than not enough people working the front desk, we had a very pleasant stay with no other problems. Very crowded casino floor, with lots of kiddies running amok. Almost as busy as NY-NY. We didn't spend any real time at the hotel except for sleeping, can't really beat the value if you want a good location and a place to sleep off the booze at the end of your night. Nothing special about this hotel, but I would definately stay here again for the price we paid.

The hotel stunk of smoke really bad. Our room was dirty and ugly. There was a great big stain on our chair that looked like urine. There was also a great big gap under the doors, so we could hear everything that was going on in the hall. Overall, the room was just falling apart.

I have just returned from a stay at the Excalibur with my girlfriend, my cousin, and her husband. It is true that this hotel is not the nicest place on the strip. For the price you pay you should not expect it to be. I have stayed at the Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, Paris, and The Mirage. The Excalibur is not in this caliber, however, if you are on a budget and want a clean decent room in the middle of the action, then look no further than the Excalibur. It's clean, friendly, and has a lot of services for a hotel of this class. If you want a no frills hotel that's clean, friendly, and child/family friendly, then this is your hotel. I probably won't stay here again because there are much nicer places on the strip, but I felt I had to share what a nice place the Excalibur is for the money. Great stay.

With thousands of rooms at this hotel you would think they would have more than TWO windows open for check-in on a Saturday! We waited over an hour in line with 200 other people to check in. Poor customer service. Also, to schlep through the casino each time to get to the elevators is a poor design. For who? Also, only 3 working elevators for each tower-again with THOUSANDS of rooms at this hotel. Poor service. We stayed 2 other nights at Harrah's. Day and night.

It was crowded. When your walking through the casino you hit many people. And the rooms were pretty small. The pools were good. Two water slides all though one of them was closed the entire time we were there. And one of the pools was closed when we got there but must have opened when we checked in. And during our stay that same pools was closed due to a fecal matter. I also saw the Tournament of the Kings which was good. The food was good and the service was great. The show kept you very entertained. I was in the front row and the dirt does not get kicked up like you would think. I would rather stay somewhere else next time but if I had to it wasnt horrible. Just uncomfortable.

I did not stay at this hotel but I did visit the casino and arcade area with my 2 children 12 & 13 years old. I really liked what I saw, nice atmosphere and very clean. Don't worry about kids being in or around the casino area, they were very strick about keeping kids out of the casino, they are allowed to walk through only to get to a resturant or arcade and not to stop at all, my kids were yelled at and sent out, which is good. I will stay here on my next trip.

The old saying is buyer beware.
I brought my son and daughter to the Excalibur hotel on a thursday night after a long 12 hour drive. My daughter has always wanted to stay at this hotel. We were going to book a room for thursday and friday night. After coming to Las Vegas on numerous occasions I understood the current room charges for this hotel. They are normally @ $45-55.00 for a sun - thursday evening and over $100.00 on the weekend.

We went to the counter, said we did not have a reservation, and we were told that rooms were available. I indicated that I would like to pay for the rooms in cash. I inquired about the room rate and the desk person told me that the rate would be $159.00 on Thursday night and would be $279.00 on Friday night. I thought I had walked into the Bellagio by mistake, or perhaps Caesars. I asked why the departure from the normal published rate and was informed that there was a major convention in town. I asked what it was and was informed there was a "shoe convention" in town.

I hope this experience does not happen to you. I feel like I was being set up by the two "gentelmen" behind the desk to pad their pockets.

I want down to the Boardwalk Casino and hotel and obtained their published rates of 45.00 Thurs., and 105.00 Fri., just 10 minutes later - with no mention of the need for a "shoe convention" rate increase.

Come on Excalibur - you can treat people better than this ..............
If this is a common practice, it is sad for your hotel.
If not, then I suggest you monitor your employees a bit better.

We stayed at Excalibur Hotel and Casino last July and had an amazing time. My husband and I were actually married there in the Canterbury Wedding Chapel which was amazing! The chapel is one of the most beautiful in all of Las Vegas. We had a large group of family and friends with us and we all had a great time. The kids are no big deal, I honestly only noticed them on Friday and Saturday (we were there for 1 week). My only complaint would be of the poor set up at the buffet. I didn't like that you filled your plate and then got a table. That was strange. The Tournement of Kings dinner theatre was one of the neatest things we saw while in Vegas! After our wedding we took everyone to Sir Galahad's for prime rib and everything was excellent. I would highly recommend that anyone go and stay at Excalibur.

I found this web site after we booked our stay at the excalibur. When i read all the negative things that were written about it, we "almost" changed hotels. This comment is just to let everyone know that the excalibur is a great place to stay at and even eat at for the money. Rooms were cleaned every day by what we found to be a very friendly staff, who were quick to help in any way possible. There are more expensive hotels that do not come close to the EX, as far as location and convenience. But stay away from the casino, its very tight. The swimming pools were good, although they need extra people to keep the place a little cleaner in the afternoons, but thats only because so many people use it.
We will stay at the EX again the next time we are in Vegas.

Had a great time while staying at the Excalibur. Called the King's window before our departure and that allowed for a 5 minute check in. They do need to work on the lighting in the hallways. Yes I know it suppose to be a castle but that dungeon decor is a little out of hand. Sure there are a lot of kids but what did you expect, families are who they advertise toward. For $50.00 a night I never had such a good deal. I got some good pay offs on the slots, pretty loose. Don't know what that person was talking about poor location, sitting beside the NYNY, MGM, Luxor, Mandalay Bay and the Tropicana is not what I would consider bad location. The arcade down stairs is pretty good for the kids, my daughter came back with a suitcase full of stuffed animals. I think the dragon blew a gasket or something because the show was cancelled for the four days that I was there. If you don't have kids and you want a good hotel and a great price I would look at the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street. Otherwise the Excalibur is a great deal.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We loved the hotel location and thought the rooms were very nice. We had a wonderful view of the MGM, LUXOR, TROPICANA, and other hotels, and we also had a wonderful view of the mountains, we were very pleased with the room service. The only bad comment we have is about the housekeeping coming in early hours of the morning and coming in even though we told them we were in the room. We had all of our meals in the hotel and absolutely loved the buffet. This was our first trip to Las Vegas and we will definetly be visiting in May of 2003.

Stayed at the Excalibur the first week of May 2002 with my husband and 2 young children. We had an excellent experience. The hotel is not luxurious but clean and in a great location. There were not a lot of kids, no more than I saw in the other hotels. We stayed in tower II and got a room with a view($10/nt extra), and it was on the 12th floor looking down the strip and it was great. There was a parking lot right outside tower II and we did not have to valet or walk to the parking garage which is quite a way back. We paid $55/nt for a room and felt that it was an excellent value for the money and the location is great. The Excalibur has a monorail to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay and an over street walkway to NYNY and the The MGM. We would definitely stay here again. Call ahead on the day of your arrival to request your room through the King's desk, they will work on your request and your room will be ready when you get there. You pick up your keys at the King's desk and there is no waiting in the check in line. It worked great for us!

Our first time in Vegas, so nothing to compare it too. I would call it average. Nothing to rave about. Didn't care for the buffet, but I will rate that later. Housekeeping was fair. I guess they forgot to move the bathroom door when they cleaned. One of our used towels was left on our second night. I didn't see a mass of children as I read in other reviews, but I also don't have a real reason to visit again. I guess the best thing was a clean room for a good price. But I can get that at Motel 6!

Let me start off with I stayed at the hotel may 13-17 for a wedding and bowling tournament. I checked in around 12:30pm And it took almost an hour to get through the line they only had 4 windows available at the front desk. The lady at the desk was a grouch and gave me a attitude like i was a burden on her for asking to check in to my room. To many damm people standing around and talking about there personal lives. Asked for a king bed they gave me 2 damm queen beds in tower 1 facing a brick wall with dirt and crap all over it. Cafe sucks over priced. Buffet ought a be boarded up and the slots are about as tight as the I.R.S. Kimg arthur also better learn hpw to order bed linens they only cover half of the damm bed Also felt it was B.S. that you have to pay a stupid ass 0.75 fee daily for phone calls you don't even make hotel sucks i will never stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel May 23-26th, 2002. This was our third visit to Vegas, and first with our son. Pool area was nice but crowded, and we had a great time in the Fantasy Faire Midway. Prizes are very generous for the kids.

We recommend this hotel to people travelling with children, but if you don't have the kids along, the Luxor is right next door, same price and far superior rooms.

The room was small and dark. We upgraded to a Strip view for $10/night, and our view was mainly the parkade at New York New York (but you could see part of the strip between the buildings). The location was great, it was nice to be so close to NY-NY, MGM and Luxor, and it was not a big trek back from these places to our room.

There are many fun shops to look in at Excalibur and adjoining NY-NY, not to mention the donuts at Krispy Kreme (so much better than Canadian offerings). If you're a buffalo wing fan, you have to try the Tiger Wings at Sherwood Forest cafe..the best ever!!! Hot and plentiful!

Overall a good visit, but we'll try another hotel next trip.

This is not an issue of winning or losing, (by the way, I won on the $5 slots) this is an issue of customer service and the lack there of. The group of 5 friends and I experienced rudeness and disconcern for our stay at the hotel. At no time were we intoxicated or rude to any employees, but in turn, if you did not tip HEAVILY we were completely ignored for drinks. I will go as far as saying that we were told to 'stick it' by one of the hotel operators. We called to leave a message for one of the hosts that had approached us at the $5.oo slots because of the amount of $$ we were spending. He indicated that he would be glad to help us get tickets or schedule events. When we asked for that favor, we were denied and we told him (via the operator)to take his lies and "stick it". As a paying customer I feel we reserve that right. At no time did we use vulgar language or four letter words. She replied in turn, "I won't leave a message like that, you 'stick it'." At that point I called house management and left my complaint. And by the way, I asked them not to return any calls or favor me with any gratuities. While we were there discusssing the issue, a few other people had similar customer service complaints. That's why I will not return to Excaliber or any hotel associated with it. I will continue to discuss this in any open forum I can find for people to read.

my husband and i along with a friend recently stayed at the excalibur hotel.we found it to be very good value for money.ok it wasnt the ritz but we got exactly what we paid for. it was clean comfortable, the service was good and the casino had a nice, pleasant atmosphere. we were a little concerned the place might be overrun with brats due to its family friendly policies but we were plesantly surprised, it wasnt toobad at all. if you want luxury this is not the place for you, but if you want decent accomodation at a fair price then check out the excalibur.

Heard alot about the Ex and expected the worst, but it was a little better than that, but not much. Check in was a breeze, although the staff looked like hell. The hallways to the room were dark, long and dank, which made it difficult to even find your room. The room itself was probably the ugliest hotel room I've ever been in. You couldn't even open the window. The bathroom was over 1/2 the size of the room itself. The breakfast buffet was horrible. Pluses - no kids around, and the pool wasn't bad. The casino itself was dirty, but was very busy and the slots were loose. Would gamble there again, but definitely wouldn't stay again.

My wife and I were married here, and I can't tell you how well we were treated. EVERYBODY in the hotel made us feel like we were the only people that mattered.

Buffet is average, but for the ever rising prices of Vegas buffet's, it is still fine.

Our rooms was upgraded to a jacuzzi suite as part of the wedding package and it was great. Very clean, and weren't bothered by smell or noises that others seem to complain about.

Didn't really win anything, but then we didn't go planning on breaking the town. We had a great time and will stay there again for sure.

This was my first visit to Vegas so I don't have much to compare the Excalibur to as far as Strip hotels go. BUT, I have done quite a bit of traveling in my life and found Excalibur to be quite pleasant.

If you're looking into staying here, or ANY Strip hotel for that matter, be sure to call the hotel DIRECTLY! By that, I don't mean go to their website and get the 800 number for reservations - these are actually travel agencies (notice how all the online reservations look the same no matter what hotel?) and you will end up paying more per night than if you flip a buck or two to call the hotel long distance. I don't know that the 'local' numbers on the hotel websites are really even the actual hotel phone numbers or that of the travel agents - I guess I'd recommend that you ask if you're speaking with the hotel or a travel representative when you call.

I found out that my rate was way too much for my first two nights ($99 Friday, $119 Saturday and $35 each night Sunday through Thursday - they informed me of the travel agency thing upon checkout), but they ended up comping me the first three nights, so I spent $112.97 for all six nights I was there (my dad dropped lots of money in the casino and their entire stay was free). The room I had was pretty nice - I was on the 27th (of 28) floors facing Tropicana Ave - I had a pretty decent view but it was sort of a pain being up so high when down gambling and needing to run up to the room for something, but I had requested a high floor when I made my reservation, so my bad. Next time I will request a low floor room (less elevator time).

I didn't feel that there was an abundance of children running around, but then again I wasn't paying much attention (*looking at all the pretty flashing lights*). I thought that Excalibur's casino was one of the better paying ones, at least for slots, as I won several hundred dollars a day that I not-so-graciously returned (*grin*). I didn't win much to brag about anywhere else (2,000 nickels at Paris), but then again, I spent my majority of gambling time at Excalibur.

Overall, I would DEFINITELY stay here again - I felt it was a good value (steer clear of the buffet) a decent place to stay - decent location and decent casino. As I said, I don't have much to compare it to (Vegas-wise) but if you're looking for a place to lay your head a few hours a night, this is perfect! If you're into all the bells and whistles a hotel room can offer, why are you in Vegas? For this is the TRUE 'city that never sleeps' and you shouldn't be either! :o)

Excalibur Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 03/02 - Good Visit
Where to begin? My fiancee and I visited the Excalibur from 3/9 - 3/12. It was my second trip to Vegas and her first. I read all the comments about the Excalibur before I booked our room but I got a great deal, so this is where we stayed. From the other comments on here, I expected to find kids all over the place in a second-rate hotel with bad food and a worse location. I found nothing of the sort.

Check-in was a breeze because we arrived around 9:00 pm. I did see a line at check-in when we left (around 12:00), so don't expect it to always be quick. Just use your head. Like any hotel, check-in will be busy in the early afternoon and evening. If you don't want to deal with a line, then check your bags and go find something else to do.

As far as kids go, there were some. It wasn't as bad as it appeared just from reading the comments on this page, though. I expected the place to be overrun with them, especially since it was the first part of Spring Break for many schools. Not so. I saw more kids across the street at New York New York than I saw at the Excalibur. There were kids at the Excalibur -- one even walked into me when she wasn't looking where she was going -- but there wasn't an inordinate amount of them. Having said that, I agree with the people who say there are too many kids in Vegas. While there are some things for kids to do in this town, it is not Disney World. Have some consideration for people who don't want to see your kids and leave them at home or plan a different vacation.

I thought that the location might be a problem since we wanted to see things in the middle of the strip. It turned out not to be a big deal for us. There is a monorail that runs from the MGM Grand (across the street) to Bally's (almost mid-strip.) You will have to walk across the street and through a casino to get on the free monorail, but we did it a couple of times and it is no problem. From Bally's it was a short walk to the Venetian, Treasure Island, etc. If you are the type of person who cruises parking lots for 20 minutes so that you can park by the door, you won't like the location of the Excalibur. If you can manage walking continuously for 10 minutes, then you probably won't mind the location.

The food was okay, but we only ate at the hotel a couple of times. The Sherwood Forest Cafe was decent, though I wouldn't make it a point to eat there. We did eat at Sir Galahad's Prime Rib restaurant and really enjoyed it. The meal will cost more than $30 per person, so be ready. If you are in the mood for that type of meal then you will enjoy Sir Galahad's. The prime rib was great and so was the service. There is a special you can order for about $35 that includes a salad or shrimp cocktail, prime rib or shrimp (I think it was shrimp -- doesn't matter, just get the prime rib), a drink, and Baked Alaska for desert. I ordered this and my fiancee ordered a cut of prime rib. We split an order of escargot and my Baked Alaska, and were both pleasantly full. By the way, the house Merlot wasn't half bad. We thought the price was reasonable for the meal we enjoyed.

The casino floor was fairly large with a good assortment of games. One feature of the casino that we particularly enjoyed was a non-smoking section of table games. Table limits were $3 and up for blackjack. Most were $5 tables, but there were a few $10 tables and up. The sports book was nicer than what we found at the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Most of the sports book was dedicated to horse racing, but it was divided about 2/3 horses to 1/3 other sports instead of the 4/5 to 1/5 division you were lucky to find at other places. We watched the SEC Basketball Tournament on one big screen and the ACC Basketball Tournament on another while the horse bettors were watching their races on several big screens on the other side of the room.

I haven't mentioned the room, yet, so let's cover that. It was not the nicest room we had ever booked. The TV had a limited number of channels and did not have the Weather Channel. (If anyone from the Excalibur reads this, please note that this would be a nice addition to the rooms.) Even though you couldn't get the forecast on the TV, you could call for the temperature, so that was some help. The room had standard furnishings: a stuffed chair, a table and chair set, a dresser, two bedside tables, two lamps, etc. The bathroom was large, but only had a shower. Not that big of a deal to me, but my fiancee said that she would like to have sat down to shave her legs. The most important thing to us was that the room and the bathroom were clean. They were clean when we arrived and housekeeping did a good job keeping them that way during our stay.

We've already started talking about our next trip to Vegas. We'll probably stay somewhere else just to try something new, but we wouldn't mind staying at the Excalibur again. Sure, you can find better deals off the strip somewhere but then you have the hassle of getting to the strip to do anything. If you stay at the Excalibur you can expect a clean room with few frills, a fairly convenient location away from the center of the strip, friendly staff and dealers, and a reasonable price.

My husband, myself, and a couple of our friends stayed here on our first visit to Las Vegas. The rooms were very clean and roomy. I absolutely loved the decor too!! The staff seemed very friendly. My only complaint about this hotel was that there was no all night restaurant. After playing till 4 or 5 am, I kinda get hungry, but there was no place to find anything to eat. But, other than that, I really loved this place. The "Tournament Of The Kings" show was spectacular!!! The food (which is served with no utensils, as in back in that era) was so delicious. The atmosphere was energizing and exciting. This place is very family oriented, but also nice for adults. My husband let the kid in him out and had a blast at the arcade. The food at the "Round Table Buffet" was pretty good, the dinner buffet being better than the breakfast though. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an atmosphere fit for a Knight!

Room was clean--cleaning staff was friendly. Front desk was very rude. Did not get the rooms that we asked for, we were with a group of 8, with 4 rooms and were put on four different floors--not good! When we asked to be moved to the same floor, were told that it would be an extra charge. Also had to pay an extra telephone charge for local calls when we didn't make any. Would not stay at this hotel again--too many hassels.

Stayed at Excalibur from 2-6 through 2-15; also stayed here in 2001 about the same time. We booked here because of the very reasonable rates, the good experience from last year, and the proximity to a convention my wife attended. The Tournament of Kings was excellent (we've been to other shows like this before, but this one seemed to have more energy). The breakfast buffet was good, and the Sherwood Forest Cafe once again provided more food than one could finish. The only food-related challenge was trying to limit the number of Krispy Kreme visits. Looking forward to another stay at Excalibur next year!

This was the first time my wife and I have ever been to Vegas. We reserved ahead of time at Excalibur, taking advantage of their terrific online rate of $45/nite for an upgraded strip view room (21st floor, overlooking Tropicana Blvd.). We both found the room to be clean, the property devoid of kids under 17, and the food average. Plus, the casino staff were very friendly and after visiting a few other properties, we both agreed the Excalibur casino is still one of the best on the strip in terms of clean air. What the Excalibur lacks in beauty (ie: Bellagio, Caesar's), it more than makes up for in service and value!!! We will definitely be staying at the Excalibur again!

My mom took me and my 2 sisters to Vegas for her birthday! Such a deal! We stayed at Excalibur mostly for the price-we were here for 6 nights. The rooms aren't fancy but they are clean. The casino is large and because we were here on Superbowl weekend, it was very busy but all in all the employees were very friendly - except for one change booth lady and we won't talk about her! The only complaint I have is that every time you walk into the casino, the noise from "Merlin" or whoever he is welcoming me to the castle, gave me a headache. It's loud and I could never understand what he was saying anyway - just noise!

The Excalibur is an excellent base of operations to visit the lower end of the strip. The rooms, while comparable to a decent motel are clean and service was never an interference to my plans. One piece of advice....eat elsewhere. The buffet is substandard and rather bland. On the plus side, The Tournament of Kings is a kick, but once again the food was only so-so. If you are sitting in the front row, make sure that you finish your meal before the show starts. The action is so close, you are liable to end up with dirt on your dinner! IF you are going to stay at the Excalibur, make sure you spend the extra $10 and upgrade to a view room. I was on the 27th floor facing north and the view was absolutely spectacular! If you are worried about the plague of kids running around, go in the off season and go in the middle of the week; kids are not an issue. An excellent value if you are just looking for some place to stay on the Strip.
