Date Visited: 06/03 - Good Visit We took advantage of the free rooms the Fremont had offered my wife and me. We weren't expecting much but were very pleasantly surprised. The staff is top notch- very friendly, very helpful and very quick. Hand pays and hopper fills took no more then 5 minutes. The rooms are small but are nicely furnished and very comfortable. The bathrooms are tiny but I couldn't care as there was plenty of room in there for what they are meant for. The valet only parking can be a slight drag but the valets themselves were very quick and courteous. The Fremont is a great place to stay and an OK place to play right in the middle of the real Vegas - Downtown. I would defintely recommend the Fremont. <joeybastard -at- att.net> - USA - Added 06/30/03 - [216.2.19***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/03 - Undecided undecided about the hotel. On the plus side, I receive many offers for free night stays. I'm not a big gambler, but really appreciate the offers. Stayed 01/03 for 3 nights free, birthday special, including dinner too. Casino is very friendly, the elevators are close to just about everything in the casino and an easy walk outside to the freemont street experience. Buffets are good and the counters on the craps tables give us crap players a good idea on how the rollers are doing. There is a free "safe" (lockbox type) in the room that holds small items, there is only one key to the safe so don't lose it! On the negative side, the rooms are extremely small, guess since the hotel was built so long ago, it wasn't based on luxury rooms, but the bathrooms are some of the worst ones around. I had to watch my toiletries bag from falling into the toilet. For one person the rooms are all right, but for 2 people it is a closet. In addition, parking is by valet only and a pain to go through, I eventually just parked for free at main street station instead of going through the hassles of the valet. If you bring your own car I would suggest parking elsewhere as they stack the cars downstairs close to each other Ideally, they should close the hotel down and rebuild it, but I doubt if they could afford the loss in revenue. With the freebies, it is a good hotel to stay, but if you have to pay the normal prices I would go elsewhere. <makikiboyss -at- yahoo.com> - Honolulu HI USA - Added 05/15/03 - [63.166.120***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/02 - Bad Visit This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. We received an offer for up to 4 free nights. Approximately 3 weeks prior to our arrival we made a reservation for three nights (arriving Oct 21 - checking out Oct 24)we gave them our phone number and received a conformation number. Upon arriving on the 21st we were informed that we only had 2 nights (21st & 22nd). I gave the desk clerk our conformation and she agreed the reservation stated three nights. I asked the person in charge if they were going to take care of the difference and he stated they were full on the 23rd and I would have to check with reservations to see what could be done. An error made by the Fremont but I have to come up with a solution. Needless to say I found other accomodations at another hotel (Fitzgeralds) for all three nights. I have never been treated as badly as this - not even a phone call to inform me that we only had two nights and then to make me responsible for correcting the error they made. I will never stay at a hotel that doesn't stand behind their reservations. <hansen91 -at- mindspring.com> - Broken Arrow OK USA - Added 10/27/02 - [63.27.17.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/02 - Good Visit We took the Fremont up on its four night's free offer (again) last week and give the whole experience a big thumbs up (again)! It was a little disconcerting reading the post from 10/20 mentioning screwed up reservations, but we experienced no problems (as before). (I routinely verify reservations a day or two prior to arrival anyway.) However, despite requesting a high, quiet room, we were given a low one that frankly gave me the creeps and couldn't have been any closer to the Fremont Street Experience while still being in the hotel! We went back to the desk, and with no hassles whatsoever were reassigned another room much more to our liking on the 12th floor. The room was small (the smallest room I've ever had in Vegas and probably elsewhere with the exception of cruise ships), but clean and well maintained. Unless you're planning a whole lot more in-room activities than I do, it's hard to complain if the price is right. As always, the hotel/casino staff was very friendly and comps were easy to obtain. I'd recommend the buffet even if you have to pay! I guess I've played there too much, as nearly as many dealers now recognize me as vice versa. The "bonus gift of the month" for accumulating 15 blackjacks within a 24-hour period was a pen set in a Fremont emblazoned wooden box. Okay, it may not be a priceless treasure, but it's free unless you go nuts chasing after it. I "earned" four this trip with hardly any effort, and traded one in for another Fremont shirt. Actually, they've pretty much run out of prizes I want, but they make decent gifts. All in all, the entire stay couldn't have been much better and I'm already looking forward to returning. <terrapin -at- hotmail.com> - Atlanta GA USA - Added 11/08/02 - [66.32.94.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 09/02 - Good Visit The people are very friendly and the comps were great! You get a junky prize if you make 15 passes, which, believe me, you will make a lot of money on if you make that many and play smart. But the odds on the craps are not as good as elsewhere in downtown and the table limits are slightly higher, so why bother? <pdashow -at- hotmail.com> - Los Angeles CA USA - Added 12/23/02 - [69.3.58***] Report This Comment You must judge the truthfulness of any comment and accept responsibility for your use of this information.
