Ok, I have to begin by saying that I did not stay here, so I really can't rate the hotel, food, etc. My complaint has to do with a show my girlfriend and I went to see 11/12/03 (Matchbox 20) at "The Joint." The band was great, but security did a really poor job of controlling the crowd. This was a general admission show, which means everyone is just sort of standing around. No chairs. That's cool, until you get a bunch of little 20-something a**holes, that, although did not arrive early enough to get a decent spot to view the show, think that it's perfectly OK to start pushing and shoving their way around everyone until they can eventually reach the front. I mean it was one jerk after another trying to muscle his or her way in front of us to get a better view. It was hard to enjoy the show with this constant crap. I mean I know it's a rock concert and they can't control everything, but I think they could have done a LOT better job of watching for this annoying crap and hauling these people back to the back of the crowd where they belonged. I'm usually never the rowdy type but almost got into several fights over this crap.

p.s. This was the second show I've seen at the Joint. I saw Lyle Lovett several years back. That was also a disappointment because although the show was seated, they had the damned seats packed in so tight and so close together that we had no room whatsoever to move. Very annoying. I thought that was an isolated incident, but after my experience at MB20 just a few days ago, it's obvious that the folks at HRC and the Joint have no idea how to accommodate large crowds.

I've stayed @ this joint three times. The service is absolutely terrible! Too much attitude for my
taste... The standard rooms are fairly nice. During one visit my luggage was taken from my room
without my permission and I didn't even get an apology! I've lost thousands of dollars in the
casino without a hint of a comp. On the bright side, there is serious eye candy within the casino
and the pool is one of the best! The Rock Spa is okay... I visit the Hard Rock because it's across
the street from Club Paradise and it's very close to the airport -so one can kill a few hours before
their flight and look @ beautiful women...and lose money of course...

Eight years ago, this place was fantastic. The place was still pretty new, the employees were cool, but not "too-cool-for-you". In Mr. Lucky's, the service and food were both really good; we ate there several times during our first stay. The casino cocktail service was great; the waitresses were cheerful and friendly. The dealers were friendly. The desk staff was wonderful. It was a nice place and I knew I'd want to stay, eat and gamble there again, and I did.

With each visit, the place seemed to be slipping. The employees got snootier and snootier. The food and service in Mr. Lucky's started to get lousy. The casino went downhill. The last visit really WAS the last visit. I wouldn't stay there again, not even if given a free suite for a week. It seemed like most of the people there -- employees and customers alike -- are insulting, inconsiderate and full of attitude. It really stinks, because the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino used to be a great place. Speaking of stink, yeah, if you don't enjoy the smell of pot, you're not going to like this place. We could smell it in the room and on people. Not that we minded, but it is a bit inconsiderate -- and illegal -- to smoke that stuff in a hotel room in Vegas. I was grossed out by the room. There was some strange stuff all over the clock radio and on closer inspection, there was VOMIT on it, and some splashed down the wall as well. I thought the room smelled kind of pukey. Give me the smell of pot over puke any day!

Excellent staff, well treated by everyone, and yes I'm over 30. Requested to move rooms due to some remodeling down the hall: Was immediately moved to a BETTER room and comped for the previous night. Visited the center bar the first night I was in, even with a Playboy casting call going on I was served within 5 minutes and had no problems getting drinks the rest of the night. The only "attitude" I saw was at the cashier, this guy thought cashing my $120 ticket was a waste of his time. When I gave his tip to the other cashier he got the hint.
I guess if you're the RV, satin jacket and buffet crowd, yes this hotel will suck. This is NOT the place for rugrats or families. There's lots of hotels that will cater to you. If you've got some confidence and aren't intimidated by people with real jobs, you will definitely enjoy yourself.

The rooms were very nice, kind of a real world look to them. Besides that and the pool, there wasnt very much to write home about, Babys on weds wasnt very good, the dealers were firendly, but it was usually 10 mins. The worst part , which i still cant believe , is that security would NOT let me bring a 1/5 of captain morgans up to the room , i ended up sneaking it in, but what kind of hotel would do this???????

Horrible Staff. If you like being waited on by "generation Xers" who could not care less about you, than stay at the Hard Rock. Personally, I vacation to escape ignorance for a week, not to see more of it.

The Hotel is too far from the strip. If you are going to Vegas, stay at a real hotel on the strip.

I stayed at this hotel twice for business. The first time the service was horrible and I submitted my complaints via a suggestion box. Basically, everyone who works for that hotel has major attitude, expecially the front desk staff...which is pretty sad considering they're your first point of contact other than valet. They sent me an apology and said if I tried them again, they would give me a free upgrade to a junior suite. Anyway, I tried again and the service still sucked, however, the junior suite was pretty nice considering I paid the price of the regular room rate. Also, I was not impressed with the "hot" women at their pools or inside their casino. No doubt there were good looking girls there, but if you go to any other pool in Las Vegas, such as Monte Carlo, Bellagio, etc., the women are just as beautiful. Don't waste your time here. The hotel and casino aren't owned by the same person who owns the restaurant and only paid to use their name.

After several stays in Vegas this hotel is BY FAR the worst. The staff has a "I don't care attitude"Rude is a under statement ! Checking in is a disaster as we waited over 6 hrs.No one even said they were sorry for the delay.Don't let the pool area on the web cam fool you as it did us.Half of the pool area is closed at one time or the other, chairs at the pool are placed in certain area's for the web cam view NOT YOURS and they will NOT let you move or adjust them.Food is expensive and is the pits.Rooms DO NOT have CD Players or VCR as stated in the brochure NO ROOM SAFES? THIS IS VEGAS..We are a young late 20'S couple. We thought this would be a cool place to stay at.BIG MISTAKE.If you don't know what good service is you may enjoy this place. We have NEVER seen a staff anywhere which such a "I don't care attitude"Complaints, requests and such fall on deaf ears.NEVER AGAIN,WHAT A RIP!The only way you may enjoy this place is if you have never stayed at any other hotels in VEGAS or have no idea what good service is or you are too drunk to notice and are many guests.Don't think of sleeping past 9am the rock music blaring throughout the hotel is sure to knock you out of bed!The staff needs a serious attitude adjustment.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino definitely does NOT want anyone in the demographics of 35-45 (or older, for that matter) visiting their premises. This is what I discovered, after waiting at the sparsely populated main bar for 20 minutes. Alas, I am the wrong demographic! IF you are 35 or older, expect to be ignored. Completely ignored, because you are not one of the beautiful people that they wish to court. I don't believe this is a wise policy, particularly in our present economy.

Would I recommend this place? If I have an enemy that's in the wrong demographic, probably for vengeance.

I went to vegas last month(10/10/02-10/14/02) for my biannual trip to sin city. The first night was at the hard rock and I have to say, never have I ever been treated ruder than when I stayed there. First off, whoever put the morons in charge of the front desk needs to have their head examined. It took us around 4 hours to check in on a thursday afternoon...with no one waiting. After this episode,We went up to our room to relax and the place stunk like weed (wonder who the clientel was). We contacted the front desk and asked for another room and were given an impolite and snotty response. After I asked to speak with the manager, I was told that he was in a "meeting" and he couldnt be bothered. We then decided to go down to Mr. Luckys for a sandwich. My friend and I got nothing but nasty looks from our waitress who felt like it was a "chore" for her to serve us. We didnt even give the casino or pool a second thought due to the attitude we received from the staff. Suffice to say, we checked out of hard rock kindergarten a day early and moved down to the rio the next morning.

I know for a fact that the HRH staff reads the boards here. My advice to them is this: Im in your core audience(im 26,male and make 70k/yr) and the so-called "rock" attitude didnt do it for me...My advice to managment: Train your staff properly in the art of "common sense" and "excellent customer service" and then MAYBE i'll come back.

Being in our 40's we knew going there it was not our element, but we flew from NC to see The Who. We stayed three nights. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was adequate (I requested a quiet room and got a view of Paradise which was fine cause we enjoyed watching the jets zoom past). Valet parking was excellent, but the room was vastly overpriced. It was a basic hotel room, but cleaned well. Clientele was rude - even though we were up by 6:00 a.m., we have manners in the hallways for sleeping guests. Parking in the deck is a breeze. Pool service was good, also.

If you want to hang out with a bunch of 20 somethings that have leased cars and fake silk shirts, and people who thumb their noses at you and are rude as hell, this place is for you. The peope who hang out here think they are cool because they hang out here. 90% of the poepl in this casino suck. That includes the staff. The stuck-up attitdudes of their clientel has rubbed off on them as well. The Center bar is a great place to wait 30 minutes for a drink and overpay for it....while you are being bumped on all angles by jerks and hookers. This casino sucks....and so does everyone in it. I am 23, I have a relatively large amount of money, and this place should be screaming for me to stay there, but it totally misses with the crap attitude. If you like fake people who try to live larger than they are.....this place is for you. If you are lucky you may bump into a celebrity (I saw Kid Rock...yipie). Hard Rock is crap central...avoid at all costs.

My wife and I stayed here for a week last March. The bathroom was tiny, and the floors were so slick that when you got out of the shower, you took your life in your hand. The casino is nice, very friendly dealers. We liked Mr. Lucky's - good food fast. Try the Ahi tuna - shashimi grade!!!

But it was all ruined when I went to transact my comps, the lady that was handling the comps at the time was way to interested in another employee and not answering my questions. I spoke to a manager about this and she comped my hotel room.

Hit the Hard Rock at 11pm on a Friday night and the place was exploding with action. At age 37 I felt a bit old, but I has having too much fun people-watching and slamming booze to really care. This place ROCKS. Revisited it again Sept 2002 and I have this handy tip: the bar in the middle of the casino is always busy on weekends, and this Saturday night was no exception. Rather than fight my way for a beer at the bar I went to the convenience store right off the casino floor where they sell cold beer too. Turns out, I bought 3 Bacardi Silvers for $12 (no tip) from the store and I'm sure it would have cost double at bar (plus tip). Much, MUCH faster too!

Loved this hotel! The memorabilia and quotations every where were fun! Particularly clever are the drum cymbals used as hall lighting. Our room was fabulous (we had a specatular pool view)! The room was so clean, you would think it was brand new! The staff was extremely friendly and was always around to help! If you're looking simply for a place to stay, the Hard Rock fits the bill wonderfully. BUT, if your looking for a great casino or fine dining, the Hard Rock falls short. The casino is very small. During our stay, few tables were full, but how fun is it to play alone!?! The slots were boring -- not much winning going on. The restaurants are adequate if you are simply looking for standard or "diner"-type food. The casino and restaurants aside, I would definately stay here again! I'm not much for isolating myself in only one casino anyway. There is so much to do in/around Las Vegas. Simply enjoying the hotel portion and knowing that I have a wonderful room to come back to, is worth it!

I stayed at the hard Rock for a business training seminar held at the Embassy Suites and my boss decided to stay somewhere that was "happening", so he chose this place based on his stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando, FL.

He said this place was much less family friendly, but still liked it.

My impression was that I felt just a bit old there (at the age of 31), but I still enjoyed myself. Being that it was February, the pool was closed, so I didn't get to enjoy that, but the other elements of the hotel were nice.

I particularly enjoyed Mr. Lucky's cafe off of the casino floor. I ate there pretty much every morning and the food and service were very good... was always greeted with a smile.

The casino was nice when I gambled there (which was usually first thing in the morning). At that hour, there were either the other early-birds (like myself) or the all-night partiers... I enjoyed the company of both. I didn't spend any time in the casino when it was busier, but I'm sure that is when all the attitudes settled in.

As far as the rudeness that I've read about there, I didn't experience it. However, I can totally see the crowd there being very arrogant and condescending because they are, afterall, "the beautiful people".

I would not stay there again just because I'm a bit old (and a bit married with child) to truly get into that atmosphere and scene. Also, the location isn't the best either. If you want to go anywhere, you have to either catch their shuttle or take a taxi.

I arrived late, so the room I had requested was not availble(pool View), I was given a handicapped room, but I was too excited to sleep. The next morining I was given a pool room and it was fabilous, it had twin beds instead of a king, but that was ok. It was a thrill to be able to wake up to the Howard Stern Show, as I don't get to hear it where I live. It was hot outside, so it was nice to have french doors that opened up to the pool and all the good music. I ate my meals at Mr. Lucky's and the food and service where top rate. I played some heavy blackjack(and won). I was comped for almost all of my room charges, even the two hot fudge sundaes! I sat by the pool and was treated to the sight of babes in thongs walking by. If you tip well, they treat you like a king. Although the location is off the strip, they have free shuttle busess that run every half hour during the day, and the taxi service is non stop. I can't wait to go back.

I loved this place and had a great time! I went there for my bachelor party last year and had a such a great time that I was in the process of organizing another whitetrash reunion to relive some of the unmitigated debauchery and starting reading some reviews on line. Because I read a few bad reviews, I felt obligated to set the record strait.

I will concede that this place isn't for everyone. If you can deal with sporadic encounters with the "DUDE" types (young and dumb LA trash!)that don't know what the fuck there doing in the casino, then you can have a kick ass time here in spite of the shit heads.

The scene is pumping with silicon enhanced hotties. You can hang out at the pool by day and nurse your hangover with Bloody Mary's. The chicks there are so fine that it's hard not to sport wood just lying in the sun drooling over the bikinis or lack thereof(more on that later). My buddies and I had the good fortune of witnessing a hotbody bikini contest during our stay. The chicks were ridiculously built all wearing thongs. The gorgeous female waitstaff made sure that i had plenty of water(hydration b4 dehydration!) and bloody mary's (gotta maintain the buzz!) to witness the event in proper form. We even struck up a good conversation with one really cool and beautiful waitress (If I had only had the sobriety to remember her name!)

Paint that scene vividly in your head, and then stop for a moment and think what could possibly be better than that? Apparently, there was some hot chick witnessing the scantily clad competition below that thought she could one up the whole contest. She flashed the whole crowd from her room overloooking the pool with a perfect 10 hard body. Yes, We got bush! The place went nuts!

Although there are a few of the aforementioned hit on soft 20 types, the music kicks ass and really enhances the gambling experience. Especially if you're on a hot roll at the craps tables while jamming to some great rock tunes. The casino is on the smallish side, but when the craps pit heats up there's no better place to be in Vegas. The drinks service sometimes can be spotty, but if you're persistent and tip well, you can stay liquored up. The center bar really heats up and is a good place to cool down with a few rounds in between sessions.

If you are a dirtbag like my friends and I, I would highly suggest talking to some of the casino hosts. They hooked us up with some over-the-top strippers that did unmentionable things to each other all in the privacy of our room. These girls were not your typical "used and abused" skanks that you would typically expect, but young, supple, hard and least I not forget, eager.

If the above sounds like a good time for you and your in the 21-30 age range or just like to party, then I would recommend the Hardrock. If you like a more traditional Vegas experience with dinner shows, buffets, and old fellas smoking cigars in tacky blazers then this place isn't for you.

However, as a 30 year old professional that still has a lot of partying left in him, I think this place is the mecca for an out-of-control, nonstop goodtime in Vegas.

Peter Mortons Hard Rock Hotel.

My wife and I were married in Las Vegas in 1996, and spent our honeymoon at the Hard Rock Hotel. At that time, the hotel was only three months old.

We had a lovely time, and found the rooms, pool, and public areas to be simply wonderful. Our room had a view of the landscaped pool area.

We've since gone back a few times, and while we have no complaint as to the hotels' amenities- we simply can't stomach the clientele.

We're both in our early 40's, and have lived through what we believe to be the greatest time, musically, for rock and roll. The owner of this place is a baby boomer, and displays many artifacts from R & R's Golden Years. But believe me- I feel that anyone in our age group (or older) is really not wanted at this place.

Attitude abounds, you can cut it with a knife.

I'll qualify my contention-
This is not the typicas Las Vegas experience. Don't expect to sit in a lounge and listen to a live band. Don't expect to engage in pleasant banter with any twenty-something who is gambling along side you. They are either unwilling, or lack the social skills required. I feel that many of them believe that all they need do is spend money, dress to impress, and simply walk around with a "look" to have a good time. Of course, almost all of them will have a little shopping bag from the gift shop. Go see for yourself.
In many ways I feel sorry for them, as they grew up on MTV, ate "Happy Meals" with movie promotional tie-ins, listen to music that requires no talent, and probably can't think an original thought. But by all means, they should continue to come here and spend money.

I did not stay at this hotel but visited the Gift Shop. The clerk in there was so rude and used profanity when giving her opinion of my coupon for a free shot glass or deck of cards. If I had not promised someone a sweatshirt from Hard Rock, I would have put it back. There are plenty of other places to purchase Las Vegas souvenirs and I would never visit this one again, nor recommend it to anyone.
