This is thet first time that I was a little disappointed at Harrah's. When a casino decides to close the buffet for remodeling,we,the patrons should be notified of this situation, when reservations are made. Not when we check-in. 50% of the reason I go to Harrah's Laughlin is the buffet. The other 50% is the relaxation and the view of the river and the mountains. Hell I can gamble anywhere. When I asked the manager of reservations why didn't he instructed his agents to inform the patrons of the buffet closure, his reply " If we had inform them, some of them would have stayed elsewhere"
Wrong Answer. 2000 people and only two small cafes, an over-priced steak house, plus a MacDonlds. It will be a Christmas I won't forget.
Happy New Year,,,,,,I guess

Received the advert. for MORE MORE MORE MORE. So I thought it's been awhile since I visited Laughlin. Forget MORE MORE MORE it's LESS LESS LESS but it costs you more. Where's the people, just about all of casinos were half empty.
There were 4 people in our party and we stayed 4 days. All up and down the river we did not see one jackpot. Someone won a $100 here or there, but no big money. I tried the high end slots, after $200 and not even a cherry. No wonder that I was the only one in the room. Back at the dollar slots I was able to win $50 here $50 there. I am not a sore loser, I still had a great time as always. It's about being with your friends and just relaxing and kicking back.
However, winning just a little sure would add to the fun. $6.00 for a round trip river taxi??

First time visiting the Laughin Harrah's. Did not stay, just checking it out for future. If you are going this month of May, definitely ask about the status of the swimming pool. I noticed the spa and pool were closed off and it looks like they were under some rennovation. With your Harrah's Club card you get a discount on food and gifts, so always ask. I really came for the buffet this time and it was definitely one of the best I've had for the money in Nevada. Quality of food, freshness, and selection were outstanding.Staff was friendly and professional: excellent choice for a big meal!

Can't say what the hotel portion is like, although friends tell us the hotel is very nice, as are the restaurants. It was on their advice that we took the Harrah's Shuttle to gamble in the casino. To begin, the shuttle was dirty, fly-infested and not too pleasant, although the driver was nice. We went to obtain Harrah's cards and the gal who waited on us was a riot - fun and very helpful. From that point, it was downhill. We were not impressed at all with the casino. Slots were very tight, change machines didn't work, bathrooms were dirty, the slots were nothing new nor even particularly interesting. We tried nickels, quarters and dollars and the payback was dismal at best. We stayed perhaps an hour and a half, and couldn't wait to get out - took the river taxi to the River Palms, which is "next door." Harrahs has no access from the riverwalk and is located up on a hill - it is impossible to get there unless you take a shuttle, taxi or the river taxi. We plan on going back to Laughlin often but Harrah's will not be our destination for anything.

I gambled at all the casinos but hit 2 jackpots at harrah's. The food was good and service was very good. It is the nicest hotel in the area. But each had it's own charm. By the way, I flew and stayed for free through a junket because of my previous play in Atlantic City.

Hey do you like junkets like I do? Well come to my site dedicated to junkets. You might find a few that go to Tunica. Email me those junket operators I have not listed.

had cupons for 10 dollar rooms, wife upgraded? for 18 dollars for adult tower, room faced parking lot, do not know what upgrade was for extra 8 dollars not maney people there wondered why we did not get river view room. you have to drive or use water taxis to get to other casinos, water taxis were having a dispute with riverside resort so they do not go there, food was ok, comedy show in the afternoon was good and cheap, you have a walk from parking area to hotel wonder why they do not have easier access from parking structure to hotel towers, suppose to be double walled rooms but heard either upper floor or lower floor fairly easy. Check out was easy do in room, wonder why no refrigerators in room or vcr or dvd players, have to pay for movies not cheap and unsure if it works on your tv, not a bad visit but not super great either. might stay again.

Because we belong to the slot club, Harrahs sent us a coupon for two free nights. We stayed in the south tower, the rooms were well cleaned and fresh. Lots of kids in the hotel, so its a family friendly hotel. Actually to many kids for for our taste (older adults), they were loud and ran in the halls until 2am in the morning. The casino is probably the nicest of all the hotels, clean and the dealers are friendly. The buffet was very good with a nice selection of entries, but very crowded. We like to gamble and find the slots are about average in payoff. You won't find a two dollar blackjack table, they like to cater to the above average bettor. If you play $10 a hand or more for five hours, you can get comped a buffet, anything less your just a tourist. When the hotel is busy, parking is a problem. You must park in the parking structure (four stories tall) and take a long walk to the hotel or casino. On a spring day this might be enjoyable, but when the temp is 116 degrees its a drag. The hotel is probably the best in Laughlin, the staff is friendly, check-in was easy, food is very good, rooms are nice and clean, and the hotel truly wants you to have an enjoyable time.

Just returned from Harrah's Laughlin. We had a super time. Every facet of our stay was excellent. The hotel rooms are outstanding (we stayed in Tower 1), better quality then what we have seen at other Laughlin hotels, The swimming pools are absolutely wonderful, warm water, not crowded, a good bar, and an adults only pool if you don't want kids. All the staff was very friendly and you had all the drinks that your heart desires. The comp program at this casino is very good, much better then most. We also found the casino action to be very good. Best action we saw was on dollar slots, there are many that are only single coin to win a good pot. There was constantly someone with the bells ringing with a big jackpot. The best action seemed to be on the slots directly in front of the Tower 1 elevators (between there and the main cashier). We visited other casino's, and none could beat the action at Harrahs. We can't wait to go back! But, the quarter slots seemed to do good too. Much better action on dollars and quarters then on nickels. Its just a very enjoyable place. Outstanding accommodations, outstanding food, outstanding gaming action, and outstanding fun (pool, beach, etc).

the room was comfortable, the staff was friendly, the maid service was out standing, and the valet guys were very good, will stay here again, the luch and breakfast buffet was good , the only bad thing to say is that the supper buffet was too hard to get into , they should have more than one line for customers who are staying in the hotel

Here is a copy of part of my letter to Harrah's. They have a bunch of hidden "upgrade" charges and are not Family Friendly at all. Their response is that this is their hotel policy.

I write to express my dissatisfaction with my experience at the Harrrah's Laughlin hotel and request that appropriate action be taken by your company to rectify the problem.

In March, 2002, I reserved two rooms at the hotel from April 30 to May 8, 2002 through your website. There was only one price level available for rooms where children were allowed to stay, which was in the North Tower. I requested that both rooms be non-smoking and that one room have a king bed and the other have two double beds.

When we arrived and tried to check in, the front desk person initially stated that we could not have a room with a king bed on a non-smoking floor. There were king beds only on smoking floors. When I asked him to check further, he managed to find rooms with the proper bed preference and non-smoking, but on different floors. I then asked him to see if they could be connecting rooms for our convenience. He was unable to find any after searching for a few minutes. He checked with his supervisor, Ms. Sandra Reyes, Guest Services Manager, who informed me that connecting rooms would cost an additional $15 per night per room for the "upgrade". I asked what the "upgrade" was and was informed that having connecting rooms was an "upgrade". I confirmed with her that two rooms side-by-side was considered an upgrade and that two rooms across the hall would not be an "upgrade" even though they were no other difference. She said "yes". I was appalled. This represented a 60% increase in the room rate from the mid week rate and a 25% increase from the weekend rate. I strongly expressed my dissatisfaction at this rate and I promptly phoned a competing hotel for their room availability. However, the rates were higher as this was a last minute booking (I had checked back in March at this hotel and their rates were comparable to yours back then), they were sold out for the Saturday night and I would have to pay a cancellation fee to your company if we didn't check in. Therefore, we checked in at the higher rate as there wasn't any other cost effective choice. Imagine my surprise when connecting rooms on a non-smoking floor in the North Tower with the requested beds were found immediately once it was determined that I would be paying the extra rate for the "upgrade".

Let me remind you that we were checking in on a Tuesday and were staying for eight days. Further, my parents, who are Platinum card holders, also checked in at the hotel for the same period. It was obvious that there were plenty of rooms available on the Tuesday as there was a very noticeable increase in the number of people in the hotel when the weekend came. In the words of one of your employees, he said "It's not busy here until the weekend". It is also clear that there were rooms available that met my request as we got them after we were forced to pay more money. There was no indication at the time of booking that there would be an additional charge to satisfy my request. Having looked at the web site today, I see the disclaimer that room preferences were not guaranteed. I take that to mean that if the hotel is busy, you may not get the requested room preferences. However, there is no indication that excessive amounts would be charged for connecting rooms. Also, the disclaimer does not give you the right at the last minute to charge an exorbitant amount to satisfy a request on a Tuesday night when the hotel is not busy. I even offered to pay the higher rate for the Friday and Saturday nights and Ms. Reyes stated that we can check in to one set of rooms for the Tuesday to Thursday, move to connecting rooms for Friday and Saturday and then move back to the first set of rooms for the Sunday to Wednesday!!

When I went to pay my account, the bill stated that the extra $15 per night was charged for a "river view upgrade". We did not get a "river view" in room 30808 and 30810 and we did not get an "upgrade". We got the exact same rooms that we would have gotten without paying for an "upgrade". They were simply located next to each other. It is clear that your billing system doesn't have the capacity to bill the request for connecting rooms as an "upgrade" because there is nothing to upgrade. So it was entered as a "river view upgrade". This is false and misleading.

My wife and I spend our honeymoon at Harrahs Laughlin when it opened in 1988 as Harrahs Del Rio, We obviously had a good time because 9 months later our daughter Tara Rae was born! Went back in August 2001 to celebrate our 14th anniversary and everything at Harrahs Laughlin is how we remembered it. Both the hotel and casino staff are still very friendly and we had a spectaular view of the Colorado River from our hotel room. Laughlin is a wonderful place to visit and we've been lucky to be in a hotel (twice) that is run so well. Another piece of luck that we've gotten from visiting Laughlin is earlier this week our son Michael Scott was born.

We received a special offer as we were Diamond status at Harrah's. We could not believe the room we had with a bathroom as big as our New York aoertment, and including a television. This room was in the Adult room which i would recommend to those without children

We ate in their excellent Range Steak house one night and in their Mexican restaurant the second.

The only disadvantage for us was that the hotel sits atop a hill nor really near the other casinos. The hotel picked us up at the bus station and took us back, but for our day on the town we used the river taxi.
