Date Visited: 06/03 - Good Visit
We stayed here in a 2 bedroom suite while my husband was on a business trip. I was worried when I saw the location on the map. I joked it was one block from the runway. I was worried about the noise, but it was very quiet. In fact, we heard more noise from the garbage truck and the lawn mower.
Luckily, the hotel was 2 blocks from the busy corner of Tropicana & Las Vegas Blvd - the south end of the Strip. It was a short walk to the MGM Grand, Tropicana, NY NY and Excalibur. You can take a tram to Luxor & Mandalay Bay from Excalibur. There is another tram from MGM to the middle of the strip. The Monte Carlo is just past NY NY and we walked there to see Lance Burton.
I was not pleased that there was no restaurant on the premises. However, we would have a full kitchen. I got the addresses of grocery stores online from the Las Vegas Yellow Pages so I could make good use of the full sized fridge. Even though we left half of the stuff we bought, all the groceries still cost the same as one buffet dinner out for 4.
There is a complimentary food from 6 - 9AM. It was nice the first day, but they put out the exact same food every morning & it got boring. I am glad I got donuts at the grocery store.
The dinner they had on Wednesday night was lasagna & salad. That was it. No bread, no veggies, no other entrees. It had to get my kids a pizza.
All in all, this suite hotel is a great value, at a good location. I highly recommend it for families.
