We stayed here for 2 nights recently because it was really, really cheap and we needed a quick get-away. We usually stay in very nice strip casinos and knew that we were taking a step down. No big deal, we didn't expect luxery. The housekeeping and maintenance leave much to be desired. There were hairs all over our shower and tub.....dusgusting. The TV appeared to have been from 1982. The cheap rattan furniture was broken (dresser had all sorts of parts missing, so couldn't even open and use, and our wall paper border was hanging down several inches in about 4 different spots. The bed was quite comfortable though.

They are apparently performing major construction on the pool. No big deal, except that IP proactively offered us a room with a pool view. I don't care about looking at slabs of concrete and backhoes...again no big deal. The really big deal is that they start construction by 7AM....you cannot sleep through that noise. We stayed out till 2 or 3 and were quite inebriated and still couldn't sleep through the construction noise.

The location of the hotel is fantastic....you cannot get better for the price. If they actually clean and perhaps update their rooms then it would be a much, much better place to stay. They won't be workin on the pool forever, but I would recommend avoiding IP for a few months until everything gets in order.

I didn't win anything in slots there. I read reviews that they had loose slots, but not for me :( Lost about $200 in their machines...you'd think I would have learned after about $40????

My girlfriend and I just returned from a stay at the IP from 11/12/03 - 11/16/03. We had a blast! Since we were on somewhat of a budget, this place was just what we needed. We wanted an inexpensive yet clean room that would allow us to walk to most places (thereby saving cab fares, which add up very quickly!). The IP is just about what others on this bulletin board have described Ė a decent place to clean up and rest your head in a location that canít be beat! Stay somewhere else if you are expecting 5-star luxury or have a laundry list of demands.

Like I said, all we wanted was a decent, clean room in the middle of the strip so that most of the places we wanted to visit would be within walking distance, and they were! The IP is directly across from Caesarís / Forum Shops, Mirage, and Bellagio. Even a walk to south strip (NYNY, Mandalay, etc.) was no problem at all for us in our comfy running shoes. Going the opposite direction, you can easily access the Venetian, Treasure Island and thereabouts. The Stratosphere is probably a bit too far to walk, though.

We didnít do much eating at the IP so I canít speak much to that. We did eat some hot dogs and krispy kreme donuts at Bettyís Diner, which were fine. Casino is average I would say. The ďdealer-tainersĒ were amusing (these are dealers dressed up as movie stars, performers, etc.). Most of our eating and entertainment happened elsewhere.

On the rooms, expect Super-8 to Holiday Inn 3-star type accommodations. To me, location was more important than anything so I wasnít too worried about it. For the price, IP is a great deal. Our room was clean and comfy with no noticeable scents; housekeeping was just fine. I never saw anything totally disgusting anywhere in the IP. Service was courteous and more than adequate in my opinion. They allowed us to check-in early, which was convenient. Bell desk was prompt, and in-room check out over their TV system was highly convenient. The TV was a little old looking but we arenít going to Vegas to sit in a hotel room and watch TV now, are we??

When we first arrived in our room the water was not working, toilet not flushing, etc. We called the front desk but they were already aware of the situation and it was all working again very shortly. No big deal. That was the only glitch I can think of over our 4 days and it was very minor. A lot of people complain on here about the elevators but for us it was no problem. However, we were probably lucky because our room was in the front tower and was very close to the elevators just off the casino. I suppose it would be more difficult if you were staying in the back of the hotel somewhere. I never noticed the elevators as being slow. Only thing I noticed was that on Saturday night they got very, very full and it was difficult to even get a spot on them. We had to wait once for like 15 minutes just to get a space going down. A tip: get on board even if itís going up, at least that way you have a space for the trip back down!

About the music at Harrahís, it did not bother us at all. We were prepared for it by reading these reviews and the bell desk also advised us of it. We didnít get in until about 2 a.m. each night anyway. The scene out there was actually pretty happening and would be great for a single-and-looking person. We actually thought the music was cool because it was usually disco/dance and got us in the mood to go out every night when we were getting cleaned up! I actually requested strip view because I thought the view and the music would be fun. The balconies are neat because you can step out and get some fresh air and enjoy the view. From our room we could see the volcano at Mirage and the water show at Bellagio.

Again, if you are going to Las Vegas for an ultra-classy room and are trying to get to sleep by 10:00 p.m. every night, you should probably go to Reno or somewhere else instead!! This is Vegas! The people on this bulletin board that have complained so much are probably not the types you would want to go on vacation with anyway!

Donít get me wrong, if I had money to blow I would stay somewhere nicer; and the next time we go I hope to be able to afford something a little nicer, but if that is not possible, I would not hesitate for a second to book another room at the IP.

We just returned from a three night stay at Imperial Palace an enjoyed it very much. The place is not perfect but for the money I think it was a great value.

Our room was comfortable and clean, but a little worn around the edges. I have seen complaints about old TVs, ours appeared to be new. We never turned it on, by the way. The staff was friendly and courteous. Check in and out were both a breeze.

The Casino here is small but they infuse a lot of energy into it especialy at night. While we were there, there was a circle of blacjack tables with Legends dealers. If you played at these tables you were dealt your hand by lookalikes of Roy Orbison, Liberace, Bette Midler, Cher, Michael Jackson etc.. The music is rockin and it makes the entire gambling atmosphere more party like.

One of the best things about the Imperial Palace is there were NO CHILDREN there. Don't get me wrong, I like kids, but I don't think they belong on the strip.

The best part of IP is definately the location! Steps away from Harrah's, Shea's, The Barbary Coast, The Flamingo, Bally's, The Miirage on the same side of the strip, Caesars is directly across the strip.

I'm not sure this would be my choice for a honeymoon, but for a fun weekend or week in Vegas it ain't bad. If you have Bellagio type taste and a budget to match you probably will not be happy here. If you are Mr. & Mrs average American
you will enjoy saving the dough while having a good time.

I stayed here between 11/23/03-11/28/03. Having read the many negative comments posted on this board, it was with some trepidation that I checked in. I am happy to report that they were groundless. Both check-in & check-out were quick & painless. I stayed in room 810, which is in the rear of the hotel & overlooks the first tower,
which sits on the strip. The view was nothing but an expanse of rooftop, but I don't come to Vegas to gaze out my window. The room was of adequate size and came stocked with TV, alarm clock, iron & ironing board. The bathroom was small & devoid of frills. Everything was clean & well tended to, though certainly not lavish.
I booked this hotel because I required a mid-strip location and was operating under budget constraints. The IP fulfilled these requirements perfectly. I was able to book for approx. half the price of Ballys or the Flamingo, both of which I have stayed at previously. The IP is nowhere in their league, but it serves an important niche.
If you're coming to Vegas as a first timer, if you're out to impress, if you're honeymooning, or if you desire the lap of luxury, take a pass on the IP. If however, you seek a clean, functional room at bargain prices & a super location, believe me, it ain't bad. I can't comment on any of the restaurants, since I took no meals here. The casino is of managable size & a fairly comfortable place to hang. Although I prefer to go higher end when possible, I would not hesitate to return to the IP.

Vegas Baby!!!!! 2nd trip to Vegas.. The rooms had a bed and bathroom in them. Good for sex and showering! But don't take to long of a shower the drains are very slow. Location is right in the center of it all. Elevators push the up button no matter where you are going. (otherwise it might not come) Comps are good for something get a card and gamble the slots are loose.. make sure you play long enough to have it work for you. The pool is basic. If you don't like smoke don't go to Vegas, most places are a smokers paradise.

The buffet (free from the comps card) will fill you up but nothing special. If you want something special look at the best ratings.

Stay here for a cheap good time. Not a classy, stuffy resort.

We just got back from a really good visit to the Imperial Palace. Had read the comments here prior to our trip, and must admit most are accurate - all the same we had a GREAT time! The blackjack dealers were the best - great service, very friendly and lots of fun. We hadn't laughed so hard in a long time. Comments here scared us away from the buffet, but we did eat at Betty's Diner and found it to be very reasonably priced and a great spot for a snack. Donuts for breakfast, ice cream for $1.50 and just your basic fast food stuff. Our room was "ok". Nothing fancy, but a place to sleep and it was reasonably clean and quiet. The horror stories about the elevators are true. There were three in the bank we used - 1 didn't work at all, 1 took like 3 minutes to close the door, and one worked just find - if you go, you'll figure it out soon enough. All in all though, a great trip for the money and we'll definitely be back.

I have been a visitor to Las Vegas for a few years now. I was originally referred to the Imperial Palace by my travel agent at that time. Ever since then, I have always stayed at the I.P. The staff are friendly, courteous and responsive to the guest's needs. The location of the Imperial is great as it is centrally located on the strip. The rooms are also good. They are comfortable and clean. House keeping is always on top of things. The food is OK and have never had any complaints. The stage show, " Legends in Concert" is a must see, as well as the automobile collection. The only minus that I could possibly mention, are the elevators, which should be improved. Other than that, I will always return to the Imperial Palace for staying in Vegas. I will be rerturning there this coming weekend. Also, construction is under way for a tram/mono rail system to connect to other hotels and the airport. " Viva Las Vegas".

Stayed here a few times. A good gambling casino for those who dont care about white tigers, etc. Some rooms are fine, some seem outdated. Looser machines than those in the neighboring casinos. Good blackjack. Home of LV's worst buffet, but it doesn't matter because there are other great places to eat nearby. A true value.

I have stayed here for a night in the past year. The staff I had contact with were great. The room was very average...but not offensive. It was clean...which is really all that matters. And even after staying at Mandalay Bay for the previous few nights...this was a huge step down in terms of quality...but you get what you pay for. It all has to do with your use for the place. While I don't think I would stay here again, unless no other rooms were available elsewhere...it is perfect for party types who all they want is a cheap room in the center of all the action. If this is your first trip to Vegas...book somewhere else...but it all has to do with your point-of-view.

IP has excellent low-limit BJ pitch tables. The pit bosses and dealers are conversational and very nice. They also offer craps lessons during the week, which is cool!

The slots are good, but when it comes to hand-pay jackpots, WATCH OUT!!! Their slot attendants are SO not friendly. First off, they are slow; second, they have some really nasty attitudes (at least the one that helped me). IP is SO TOTALLY in need of TICKET VOUCHERS for their slots!!

IP has a nice location and provides decent table games at low minimums.

We just got back today from 5 night at the Imperial Palace. We phoned ahead of time to request a room in the first tower, a frig and a strip view. When we checked in we were told that there was no request in their system. We were upset and let them know that, the clerk did some checking and found us a very nice room pool side, 8th floor. No frig, but we were happy with the room. We found that the elevators were very slow and small. The room was nice and had plenty of room for the four of us girls. We did not do alot of gambling there, we preferred the barbary coast for gambling. The location of the Imperial Palace is wonderful. We went to The Legends show and was not totally happy, most of the acts were good, Tom Jones stunk, the setting was very cramped, the matre de that sat us was very rude and abrupt. All in all we enjoyed our stay there and will stay again.

This hotel certainly did not have the pizazz of other newer hotels but for the money, the rooms were adequate and the location was great. The hotel is pretty well in the middle of the strip so access to other hotels was easy. The rooms were nothing special. We had a problem with the drains being clogged and the toilet continuously running unless you played with the handle but overall, the rooms were clean and quiet. I don't know if this is normal or not for Vegas since this was our first visit but it was kind of annoying to find nothing on the tv but mostly hotel marketing channels. At the end of the evening, we wanted to wind down and watch a little tv but there weren't a lot of real TV channels to choose from. The check in was a little slow but the check out and baggage service was good. The casino was quite smokey but we didn't spend a lot of time in there so it wasn't a big issue. We also won some money at the slots so that helped. Word of warning - do not use the washrooms in the casino. They were quite disgusting. Use the washroom in your room instead. I would definitely go back to this hotel because the price is right and since we didn't spend a lot of time in our room, we didn't care if it wasn't extravagant.

My first impression of the Imperial Palace was not good. But, forget that because now I am going to tell you what a great time we had there!

The check in was smooth. I was surprised to see the hotel check in set in the casino. We requested a room overlooking the strip. The very pleasant woman said "be advised there is a band that plays until 3:00 a.m. every night." We responded, "Oh we will love that. We are here for action. We are from a very quiet town." How I adored our room and the balcony overlooking the band! I probably stood on that balcony 20 times per night.

My impression of the casino changed about an hour after arrival when my husband got his first "hand pay" at the slots. I say my first impression was bad, because the place looked a little tattered and worn out. He was so happy with his slot win, that the atmosphere of the day changed.

My slot play at the Imperial Palace was perhaps the best I have ever experience. I played nine line nickel slots. My first night, I lost $90 right off the bat, but my husband was winning like mad, so how could I complain? Then, I hit a $45 bonus win on the Addams family near the players booth. I took and out and was happy to win back a little something.

The comps were incredible!!! We still have the equivalent of ten breakfast buffets. We plan to return within the coming year for sure to eat some more buffets. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in the buffet restaurant. I ate some of the healthest foods at the Imperial Palace, wonderful fruits and salads and delicious prime rib and seafood. Then, I topped it off with my favorite food of everything: FLAN. They served a perfectly made Spanish flan. I was very impressed with the food, but had to stop eating the buffet after four days because it was just too much food. So despite the food comp points that piled up, we went out for smaller meals.

I loved the free photo that is taken on the old car with the Blues Brothers. We took several different poses, and remembered to tip the girls working there.

The coctail waitresses were awesome. We tipped them and they were always there for us.

The pool was a real fiesta. It was a young college aged crowd, but the older folks (like us) blended in nicely. There were families too, but not so many. Everyone was in a happy mood at the pool. I went there numerous times.

The BEST of all was the Summer Blast Slot Tournament. If you earn 100 points in a day, you are given a ticket to be in a lottery to see if you can play in the tournament. My name was drawn the second day. Everyone in the tournament received a prize of money. I got $50 for eight place. As we left the tournament, which also included a money grab machine for the person who had the lowest points and for two other names that were drawn from the lottery after the tournament, I was saying "I have never had so much fun. That was so much fun." Another woman next to me was echoing exactly the same words!

After three nights at IP, we moved to Harrah's. We booked this arrangement months ago. Harrah's slot ate my money without giving me the smallest win. I just lost, lost, lost. So, I up and walked to IP and played there for the remainer of my stay. I did try Harrah's a few more times, but it is no fun if you just outright lose. At IP, I had many wins. Of course, I sometimes played them all back, that happens, but it was fun. I did pocket a few wins. I had wins, and that was the best of gaming.

I also adored the dealers who dressed as "legends". The Madonna and the Rod Stewart look alikes were my favorites.

We ate at Burger Palace. It was ok.

As we left the IP, I remembered my first impression of it as looking sort of beat. It was super clean, the maid seemed to patrol the hallways like a security guard, there was a man who vacuumed the hallways all the time, the balcony view, the Carnivale Court Music, the generous comp system and the wins make me want to go back.

Did not stay at I.P. (stayed next door at Harrahs) but gambled most of the trip at I.P.. Great place for the girlfriend to play $3.00 blackjack while I played for higher stakes at the same table. Every day hit a good size win playing something different. Day 1 $400 craps. Day 2 $300 blackjack. Day 3 $400 straight flush at three card poker. And cashed out for $100+ on the same nickel slot 4 days in a row. Buffet sucks, but when comped you can't complain. Decor outdated but drink service excellent. Some stonefaced dealers but many friendly ones to. I look forward to playing there again.

I was a bit concerned at check in, since our reservation was lost. They cleared it up immediately, and we had our pick of available rooms. The location was wonderful on the strip. When our feet got tired the bus stop was right across the street. Gambled a little on the blackjack tables, the dealer was a hoot. Service was quick. I will definately go back.

The Imperial Buffet Champagne Breakfast is the WORST in the World--We visited Vegas during Spring Break March 26-30 2003. We read somewhere about the Imperial Palace Breakfast buffet--so we decided to give it a try. BAD DECISION. The breakfast buffet was horrible, but the so CALLED Champagne dribbled out of a spigot at two drops a minute---it took 5 minutes to get a TINY glass of Champagne. A HUGE FICKLE FINGER AWARD to this place. You will NEVER see us again.

I just got back from a 4 night stay at the Imperial Palace. Overall the stay was good. Check in was kind of a Hassle and the girl that checked us in was not the very friendly. We got stuck in a smoking room but don't smoke. Our room did'nt smell so smokey but a couple that we traveled with ahd a room that reeked of smoke. We both put in for a room change and got changed on the next day. A very nice housekeeper let us keep a can of air freshener in our room. The casino was not nearly as cool and some of the others were went to and was a bit smokey but we loved to play there anyway. There was always plenty of 3$ min blackjack tables and I did ok at them. The dealers were ok. Some were very good and it was great to play at their tables but some of the dealers seemed like that hated their jobs. Most of these dealers were oriental of forigners and they just had a sour attitude. All in all the IP is a great value considering the amount of time you spend in the room.

ROOM - We had reserved the "Luv Tub" room and it was great! The room was huge!! The tub didn't have jets, but 4-6 people could have fit into it. We were able to lay down completely. There were mirrors over the bed and the tub. Every room has a balcony, a Vegas rarity. The bathroom counter took the length of the whole wall, good for women. The closets had full mirrors on both, another important detail for women.

SERVICE - Check in/out took a whole 5-10 minutes. We checked in at 3:30pm and out at 9:00am. The workers in the shops were grumpy and did as little as they could to help.

CASINO - Very smokey and a bit smaller than the mega-resorts. The best part of this casino is the some of the lowest minimum's on the strip. $3 Blackjack tables. If you stay at a table for about 4 hrs and bet $10 you get your room comped.

FOOD - Do not eat here, go across to the Forum shops, Harrah's, Flamingo.
There is a little casino called O'Sheas next door with a food court, go there for something cheap. They have an all $.99 snack bar.

LOCATION - This hotel is in a prime location. Next to Harrah's and the Flamingo, across from Caesar's and the Mirage.

VALUE - The "Luv Tub" was the cheapest on the weekend we went and loved it. The location, casino, and room made it the best value we could have gotten. This hotel is no mega-resort but its perfect for a budget.

I stayed at Imperial Palace in one of the Luv Tub Suites on my honeymoon. The "Luv Tub" is extemely uncomfortable and quite plain. There really aren't many curves to the tub. We basically used it to soak our feet each night. As for cleanliness, we had MOLD growing in our bathroom, hairs and water in our "Luv Tub" upon arrival, dirt on the headboard of the bed and many slashes in our sinks. After our first couple of days there, we noticed that housekeeping did nothing more than make our bed and remove the used towels. We had less towels and NO cups each day. When I called the front desk, the manager sent a housekeeping manager right away. She arrived quickly only to argue about hotel policies and tell me I was wrong to expect a clean room. Soon after, a maintenance man knocked on the door and told me that I requested the tub to be fixed (which I didn't) and walked right into my room without even asking first. 20 minutes later, a housekeeping staff member knocked and barged into the room to clean the tub and contest his cleaning job. At this point, my wife wanted privacy and sleep time. I kindly asked for some privacy and was no longer bothered.

As for the food.....we had the champagne brunch while we were there. It was quite terrible. The omelet had cheese fingers for cheese (ya know like government cheese). Everything was ice cold and tasted terrible.

As for the elevators...we had 2 occasions where the elevators broke down on us while we were in it. The maintenance guy told us that this happens all the time and showed my how to hit certain buttons to fix the issue. This was scary and rediculous. Imagine going up 6 floors on an elevator and then have it stop between floors and shake wildly only to have the maintenance say it is normal.

All in all I would NEVER stay there again. I visit Vegas 2x a year and try to stay somewhere new each time. This is the FIRST bad experience I've had in any Vegas hotel.

If they want to improve the Imperial Palace, I suggest about 1/2 a ton of dynamite!!!!!

Stayed here for the second time in the last year. This is the perfect location and value for us. I must emphasize.. if you like classy, luxurious hotels please do not stay here. But if you are looking for a place to sleep smack dab in the middle of the strip for rock bottom prices - THIS IS YOUR SPOT. Yes the elevators are slow and yes the place is smokey but it is the best value in Vegas. You can walk to 5 other casino properties in 5 minutes. The outside patios in the Palace rock. No other place I've been in Vegas has an outdoor patio. It is great to crack open a cold one and chill out on the patio. The eating choices are decent - The Pizza / Pasta Place on the 3rd floor rocks!!! The Palace is a great place to stay just don't expect it to be like the other more luxurious resorts when you are paying 1/3 the price. I'd rather spend my money on the tables than the room.

Not a good value for the $. Room had mold growing in the bathroom. Emergency phone door cover in the elevator was broken the entire time we were there. Elevator down arrow on 9th floor was ripped off the wall the entire time were there. Health club has only 2 low quality treadmills without flex decks. Several people came up and asked when I would be finished so they could use it. Numerous Nautilus machines were broken. There were NO eleptical trainers. The legends in concert was good, however the tone was set when the mater d seated us in the last row and strongly suggested we give him a large tip for better seating. HUMMM I thought I paid for my seats like everyone else. The absolute best part of the stay was looking in the rear view mirror and seeing the Imperial Palace grow smaller in the background. There are far better places you can stay for about the same money.

Well, I love the Imperial. I don't like the rooms much, but then I only stay when they are comped. Anyway, the casino rocks! Take my word for it, it might be smelly some say or ugly from some 60s James Bond scene, but the cocktail waitresses are always there. They can even be annoying sometimes. Play craps there all the time and have fun, even when losing. I also think they have the best slots. Imperial typically is the only place where I can make a hundred or so bucks off the dollar and quarter slots. Gamble here, but don't necessarily come for the rooms!

Upon arrival we were upgraded (without asking) to a Luv Tub Suite. Registration took about 15 minutes....it was close to midnight and only two check in clerks were working. We found the room to be in perfect order with a view of the strip and Caesar's Palace.
Location of the Imperial Palace is great....walkable to everything.
Casino is small and intimate. This was our fifth trip to Las Vegas and our first stay at IP. We will certainly stay there again !!!!!!

We just got back from Vegas and this was our first time staying at the IP.We would surely stay there again!Everyone from frontdesk to housekeeping were terrific! The casino is on the small side, this makes it easy to find your way around, also we had lots of luck on slots. We ate there a number of times and thought the buffet was just fine,if there was something you did not like you would not get it again, simple. We stayed on the 18th floor and never had a wait for the elevators. The location was the best!Close to everything!I can hardly wait for our next trip to Las Vegas, and we will be staying at Imperial Palace!

My girlfriend and I wen to Vegas for my bday. We stayed at the Imperial
Palace, in the Luv Tub Suite for a weekend rate of $99. I Chose the Palace
because of its Center Strip location. We arrived at Vegas around 9:30pm
Friday. We came from LA so imagine the traffic we went through. Anyways,
check-in was a breeze, didn't really take long. The casino was full of
Spring Breakers. They were loud and rambunctious, but hey they are in
Vegas so We thought it was alright. We went to our room and I liked the
room. It was nice and decent. Nothing glamourous, but the Luv Tub made
up for it. We didn't have a good view of the strip, but I thought that was
alright. We went to the Bellagio and checked out the fountains. After that
we crashed for the night. We woke up early and went to Caesar's and did
the 3D Atlantis Ride. It reminded me of the Back to the Future ride in
Universal Studios. Next stop was the Bellagio again for the Brunch Buffet.
It was $28.00!!! because of the Easter Holiday. Regardless I paid
because we were already in line for 45 minutes. I didn't know the price of
the buffet until we got up to the cashier. There were no signs or ads
indicating the Easter Special. Anyways we paid and we ate. Man, it rivals
the Aladdin Buffet in quality. Quantity though, I give the edge to the Bellagio
because there were all sort of foods, from crab legs, to shrimp cocktail, to
lamb ( I tried it for the first and last time), to steak. I was satisfied. We
walked off our lunch all the way to the Mandalay Bay. We went to the
Excalibur and took the tram to Luxor and Manday Bay. I thought Luxor was
great. Mandalay Bay was nice too. We went back to our hotel to rest
before dinner. I have read some problems with the elevators being slow
and I couldn't agree more. There were like 30 people waiting for one
elevator. Unbelievable. Since we were still full from the Buffet. We just ate
a light dinner at the Food Court at the Venetian. I won a few hundreds in
the Wheel of Fortune Slots. These machines never fail me. I win
everytime. And I don't even gamble that much. All in All a great stay at the
Palace. I recommend it for its value and great strip location. So if you're
looking for a decent room with great location. This is it.

We stayed here with the IP's Luv Tub Getaway package. It included two nights in a Luv Tub suite, two free tickets to Legends in Concert, two free buffets, two free passes to the Auto Collections, two Scratch Slotto cards and one free bottle of champagne, all for $204 for two nights for two people. After all the freebies, the room cost about $30 a night, which is a bargain given the location and the quality of the room.

Granted, the IP isn't Caesars or Bellagio, or even Harrah's. But it's a great value, and while the decor is a little dated and there is a strange smell about the property (not in the rooms, though), the rooms are clean and cozy, and the staff is friendly. As long as you don't expect a real palace, you'll be fine.

The Luv Tub room is quite impressive. The main room consists of a king-sized bed and the coup de grace, the 300-gallon luv tub. Both the bed and the tub have mirrors overhead, which can make for a good time. There is also a basic bathroom with a shower/tub combo and a hair dryer. All rooms at the IP have balconies, which is nice. The bed was comfortable; we slept like babies both nights, though the free drinks may have had something to do with that. Room service showed up with our champagne within 10 minutes after we ordered it. The only complaint about the room is that the fan in the bathroom didn't work too well, leaving it feeling like a sauna after taking a hot shower.

The casino seems to have cleaned up a bit, but it's still really smoky. At most times they had between 10 and 15 BJ tables going, with most having $5 minimums. I'm a low roller, and I liked the fact that I didn't have to wait forever to find a low-limit table. The dealers were jovial and everyone at the tables seemed to be having a good time. Sometimes the BJ would be handheld, even out of a shoe. That threw me off a bit the first time, but it slows the game down, allowing your bankroll to last longer. At night they had three craps tables going with $3 and $5 minimums; finding a spot was never a problem. I liked how the majority of tables were for traditional, low-casino-edge games like BJ and craps (even if they do hit on a soft 17). I'll take those over money-burners like Pai-Gow and Caribbean stud any day.

The table games were great, but they must make up the money from the slots and VP. You have to go spelunking into the darkest depths of the IP to find a decent 9-6 full-pay machine, and most are something lousy like 6-5. The slots were way tight; good luck hitting anything more than five coins.

The food didn't kill us, but it was nothing to write home about. We used our aforementioned free buffet, and the price was right. We also ate breakfast in the Teahouse coffee shop. The food was good, but our waitress disappeared and I had to finish my breakfast without anything to wash it down. The night owl specials in the coffee shop look to be really good deals. The bartenders were great, giving out free drinks for stuffing a dollar in the VP machines at the bars. But don't forget to tip.

We had no problems with check-in or check-out. We got in at 3 p.m. and left at 11 a.m. and went straight to the front. Since we were on the third floor, we didn't have problems with the elevators, but there are several banks that should help alleviate any delays.

Everyone here, from the front desk to room service and the dealers, were super friendly. Everyone here looked to be having a good time. It's easy to have a good time at the IP because there, everyone's equal and no one cares if you're all gussied up for a night on the town or if you just rolled out of bed and stumbled down to the casino for a couple hands of BJ and a hair of the dog. If you're looking for a good value, a good time and are willing to check your pretenses at the door, the IP might be the place for you.

I stayed here for the price and the location. If you're hardly going to spend any time in the hotel room then this is a great deal. I couldn't stand the air quality. The casino sticks and the bathroom in the room smells funny as well. If you're facing the strip you're going to hear a live band coming from Harrah's which is next door and they'll be playing until 3am. I wasn't in bed before 3am so it didn't bother me. I would recommend this if you like to party and you're always out and you don't have very much money but next time I think I'd rather stay at Venetian or Aladdin.

Eight of us in four rooms. We were the only ones who did not have to switch rooms due to problems. Some kind of generator/plumbing noise could be heard at night throughout the walls (like at Excalibur). Bathtubs were very slippery -- everyone in all rooms mentioned this. When asked the maids, they said people who stay there usually put an extra bathmat inside the tubs. They knew about the problem, but had no rubber mats with suction cups, nothing like that to make it safer. There were large 'communal balcony' type areas right outside our windows, and as a group of women traveling alone, we did not feel safe. People could have exited the window of one room then walked along outside to and, especially if the windows were open, just entered another room. We were on the second floor. One room had big problems with the key card not working and were locked out, away from their luggage, and necessary medications, for a period of time because of it. Next time, would pay a little more and stay at a better hotel on the strip. All of us had a lot of trouble with the phones. Operators laughed when you tried to tell them that the phones didn't work. Cell phones didn't work anywhere in their property. Trying to page someone is a joke. You cannot hear anything through their 'white courtesy phones' due to the casino noise. It's not as though the person being paged could hear either. Had to stand in line over an hour waiting for check-in.

You have to haul your suitcases through the entire casino to get to the elevators up to the rooms. This is inconvenient to say the least. Doorways into stairwells open out blindly and saw people getting hit by them a lot, usually by persons too frustrated to wait for late and full to the brim elevators. Next time, we'll go somewhere else.

Absolutly Wonderful Time!!
Besides my losses at the black jack table I have to say that this was the best place I have ever stayed at (for the price). The rooms do leave some to be desired, they haven't been remodeled since the early 80's I would say. But they were very clean and pretty darn quiet too. We stayed in the original hotel, not the tower, so we didn't have the problem with Harrah's band keeping us up at night. When we arrived I asked for the crappiest room they had (trying to keep the budget down) and the guy laughed and gave me this room that had one huge bed, a couch, love seat, a few nice chairs, A WET BAR!, and the normal ammenities that are expected (tv, phones, changing room, clean bathrooms, etc.) For $33/night in the exact middle of the strip who could ask for more? We stayed downtown the first night at "El Cortez" for 4 dollars cheaper and had a horrible time. I can't wait for my next visit to Vegas so that I can stay at the IP again. Keep it up guys.

We stay at IP twice a year and will continue to do so. Our host has done an outstanding job for us and the groups we take with us. I can't say enough about the service from everyone from the time we checked in until the time we checked out. The great service has happen repeatedly so I don't think it's an accident. It's also nice to see the same employees, most of them have been there longer than we have, that tells me something about management. To all of you at IP, keep up the great work and see you all again in October.

Stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Everybody we came in contact with at the hotel was kind and curteous. Yes its not lavish but the staff take great pride in their jobs from the rest room cleaner to the top. Its easy to criticise this hotel and compare it with the likes of the Bellagio and the Luxor a little unfair in my humble opinion. We used to like to return here every night after the grandeur and stuffiness of the posher hotels where you never win a penny!! Had great fun on the slots and met lots of friendly people here. It is a nice size hotel and easy to get around. The entertainment in the lounge was great..."Naked City" a lovely duo from LA who were extremely friendly and talented. Most of the staff have been there for years so that tells you something. I didn't see too many smily faces on the staff at the bigger hotels. Location is excellent and value for money unmatched. Don't be put off by the moaners they probably moan about everything...Remember its only a bed for the night you're not actually buying the place!! You can't buy a sardine and expect it to taste of cavier!!

We will definately stay at the IM again. The staff was friendly and very courteous. The location is the best and for the money well worth it. Other hotels on the strip are fancier but for the money it was and will be again my first choice. If you stay there don't plan on elegance.. just value and great location.

This was the first time I had stayed at the IP and I loved it! I really can't say enough good things about it. I went in not expecting much, but the location and price absolutely cannot be beat!!!

The housekeeping, bell hop, baggage storage, check in and out were fantastic! We called for more pillows and then more blankets and they came very quickly.

Our room was nice, comfortable beds, nice size. Other than sleeping, what do you need to room for???

Casino - didn't play much as it was over the weekend and very, very busy (as expected).

We ate at only the Tea House for an Ippy's Delight and the price of that can't be beat either.

Every time I stay on the Strip, I'm going to the IP.

Highly recommended.

This was my first trip to Vegas, so it was my first experience with a Vegas hotel. Overall, I would say that we got our money's worth! We wanted an inexpensive place in a good location with a great view of the strip, and that's exactly what we got. It's an older hotel, and our room's decor reflected that, but it was a clean room with an incredible view. The only thing I didn't realize was that there was an outside bar right below our balcony that played loud music til about 2 am. For most people this will not be a problem because they aren't trying to sleep at 2am in Vegas!! But we really did like the fact that we had a balcony. I can't remember if most of the hotels had balconeys or not, but we really liked ours. We even made a friend up there....a pigeon that we fed and eventually had in our room! Hahaha. Anyway, the casino was nice enough, altho we are not big gamblers. They do have some good slot machines. Overall, our stay there was good, but we are going to try Bally's this February and see how that goes! I don't know if I would stay at the Imperial Palace again since we want to try something new each year, but I would not having a problem recommending it to people who are on a budget.

After being affiliated with the hospitality industry, and staying at several different hotels ranging from Motel 6's to Marriott Resorts.... I must say that I have never had a more TERRIBLE hotel expeirence then my most recent stay at The Imperial Palace.

After my boyfriend and I checked in on New Years Eve, they had put us in the wrong room... 2 beds when I had requested 1. After going up and down the elevators (which had an average wait of 10-15 minutes) - we ended up switching rooms 4 times. We were given the wrong room number TWICE, we were told they were overbooked and had no more rooms availble.... and throughout the entire changing HASSEL, no one was ever apologetic or sincere. Instead, the desk clerks were extremely RUDE and even pointed their fingers & the blame at us!

After finally settling in - we met up with some friends and ate at the Burger Palace inside the Imperial Palace. About 2 hours after eating there, I was more sick then I have EVER been. I threw up for almost 24 hours continuously. After filing a complaint with the hotel, they advised us that we could go to the hotel clinic - but Oh, it was closed due to the holiday. I guess it's a good thing I didn't DIE or anyting, since there was no one on staff there able to help me.

Among all these things going on, we were woken up every morning at 8am by a loud banging and some sort of mechanical noise outside our room.

When I checked out - I asked to speak with the front desk manager on duty. Not only could she have totaly not given a damn about our HORRENDOUS stay - she just shrugged and gave me an "I'm sorry". With a stay that bad, you would have thought she would have been willing to at least comp us ONE night or maybe TWO. But nope, she just sent me packing wiht a little shrug of her shoulders.

The Imperial Palace is terrible. Their customer service and communication skills are beyond terrible. I don't know how they expect to book groupd and hope for guests to return for a second stay when they clearly cannot manage their own hotel OR make up for THEIR errors.

I would NEVER reccomend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Just got back from 5 nights at the IP. While I understand many of the negative complaints I must admit we had a very pleasant stay - especially considering the price. We got the room through the internet and only paid $140.00 for 5 nights. After you subtract the 2 free buffets (you get what you pay for) and $110.00 in match play coupons (turned out to be worth $60-70) the room only cost $10-15 a night. We also stayed at the IP in October and that was a good stay also.

There are a few things to watch for if staying at the IP. The elevators can be horrible. The second trip we stayed in room 661 and had no troubles with the elevators because we used the bank of three elevators instead of the main bank of four (plus two in back). I would guess any room number between 660 and 699 would put you closer to the bank of three.

Also, you need to watch for rooms that face Harrah's. There is a band that plays there everynight and I understand the noise can be bothersome. This only applies if you go to sleep before 1-2.

My wife did notice a strange odor in the Casino - but not in the room.

to my amazement the clothes rack was located in the bathroom, we switched rooms because the room was far from the elevator, the elevators made a loud noise all night long, the towels had stains on them and were full of lint. The buffet offered the same food every night not very good considering we tryed the bellegio and the riveria buffets which were outstanding rated it 5 stars. The staff at the casino tables were not very pleasant except for Joann White and Frank from Nebraska who were terrific to us.The rates might have been cheap but you get what you pay for by far.I would never stay there again.

It was THE Worst!! What A dive! This place needs to be demolished.. The staff are as rude as you can be! We checked in on dec 30, to find our room was a stink hole the smell was so bad it knocked us over.. we asked for another room. and was told nope we are sold out for new years.. our window to the fresh air was locked and we had to stay in that room or on the "street"..I have pics of the room for anyone who wants to see this rat hole.. RUDE RUDE RUDE, explans the staff! we wanted to leave. They said go ahead. But WE will still charge you!
I am going to the BBB. "STAY Anywere" but here! Pay a little more money.. I will pay so much more for a better place to stay.. even a cardboard box in an alley way. would have almost been the same.. Once we left the casino the evil cloud seemed to go away. and got a lot better once we visted the strip and all the other casino's.. It was like Heven & HELL. I had to pick Hell to saty at!!

It was quite a walk from the hotel parking to checkin. Once we got into checkin, we had to wait in a long line to check in. Not cool at all. It was confusing in finding our room. Once we found our room, the first thing that we noticed when we walked in was a horrible smell. The room smelled of stale cigarettes and especially mold. The moldy smell was so strong the it could knock a skunk down. The decor was pretty cheesy. We got the "Luv Tub", while the tub is large, which was nice, the tub leaked really bad. Stepped into a puddle of water that saturated the carpet in the middle of the night, which explained the smell of mold. They had the balcony locked for the new year, so we couldn't get any fresh air to get rid of the smell. Had to buy air freshner just to tolerate the smell of the room. All of this could have been tolerable if we would have had a decent bed, but the bed was the hardest bed that I have ever slept on, it was not much better then the floor. I would definitely never stay at the IP again. Their restaurant quality was not good, the service was not good, the casino workers on the craps tables were rude, when we checked out, they did not seem to care that our stay was bad and made no attempt to try and make it right. Next time I go to Vegas, I will definitely spend the extra to stay at the Bellagio, Caesar's, or Mirage, anywhere but the Imperial Palace. It definitely is not imperial. p.s. this is putting it lightly.

My wife and I stayed at the I.P. for 2 nights on their unbeatable website promo of $16 per person for one night and the 2nd night free. Elevators are confusing at first but we got used to it. Service in the spa was great. Employees throughout the hotel were very friendly with no wait for check-in and they have a huge amount of variety on their machines (5 cent on up). Rooms are older but clean. Location is perfect; in the middle of the strip. Would stay here again.

I booked my Mom and Dad into the Imperial using their $16.00 per night promo with buffet tickets and the 2 for 1 ticket buy for legends in concert.
My parents had a good time as did I.
A small tip got my mother and I good seats to the evening performance. She enjoyed the show. The impersonators do a great job.

The rooms are nice and the staff very helpful. The Palace has a good location on the strip - but it sits back off Las Vegas Blvd. and is a bit difficult to get out to the street dodging the taxis and buses in front of the hotel.
The crowd here is definitly older but that suited my parents just fine.

We ate dinner upstairs in the Ming Terrace room and the meal was excellent. The atmosphere was outstanding and the waiter very attentive.

This hotel is a good value for your money. It has a very quiet and laid back style. It does get confusing to find the elevators to your room at times, but everyone manages just fine.

We just came home from Vegas yesterday (wish we were still there)!! We chose to stay at the Imperial Palace because of the price and location and we were not disappointed. The rooms were not as fancy as others you will find on the strip, but we spend 98% of our time gambling and 2% of our time sleeping so we prefer to save $$ on the room. We spent some time gambling there each day and won a couple of small jackpots(slots); we did not do well at all on the tables (let it ride & blackjack). The location was incredible! Easy walking distance to some of the popular casinos such as Bally's, Ceasars Palace, Flamingo (our favorite), Harrahs, and Mirage. Elevators are fixed - we never had to wait. If you need quiet time to sleep, request a room on one of the top floors. We were on the 6th floor, front tower. Live bands started playing outside everyday about noon until 2:00 a.m. We would stay there again - good visit!!

This hotel is not fancy but it is an excellent value with an even better location. It is a few steps from the Venetian and right across the street from the Mirage and Treasure Island. The service was way above average. We needed an ironing board and iron and they had it to us within 10 minutes of making the call. Our room had a view of the strip which was really wonderful. These rooms however are right over a bar with a band every night, but it was not that bad since our hours were late also. All the rooms have balconies which I hear is not common in Las Vegas and being able to go out there to take pictures and just look was very nice. I would stay there again.

Our stay at Imperial Palace was very good. We visited almost every hotel/casino on the strip and some downtown, and did not have the friendly service your hotel provided. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and polite. It made our stay in Las Vegas that much more pleasant.

Short walk from the rooms to the street, the elevator service was good, rooms are good and clean. Plenty of chairs at pool. No lines anywhere, easy in and out, that's what I like.

Where does one begin? The parking lot is a nightmare, the place is worn out. The elevators are too slow, the casino is too dark, depressing and crowded with seedy characters. The rooms are old and dingy. Good location but this place is the bottom of the barrel. Stay next door at the Flamingo.

Its been a while since I stayed here, but I thought I would enter my review anyway.

IP was the first Las Vegas hotel I stayed in, in 1999. Its a great value for the traveler wanting to save money during a convention week and you cannot beat the strip location. The check-in went very well, and the staff was very nice. In this hotel you have to walk all the way to the back of the casino to get to the elevators that take you to the rooms - not real convenient if you've been out partying and come back after having too much to drink!!! Heehee.

I was given a room overlooking the pool area - this room was ok except for the fact that that shower was designed for a short person. I am 5`4 inches and I had to bend down a bit. The room was also dark - if I ever stayed there again, I would try to get a room somewhere else. I didn't use room service so I can't comment on that.

As far as restaurant go, I only ate at the Teahouse there - breakfast, and it was very good as well as being a good value. The pool area looked nice but look liked it got pretty crowded.

I had wished I looked at the Antique cars, but I didn't. Maybe next trip :) I've heard they are really something.

IP is a good value if you are not picky about your hotel. The rooms are clean and my floor was quiet so you could sleep late if you were out partying the night before.

Thanks for reading.

Tara

This hotel was perfect for a Las Vegas Weekend. We spend four days and three nights. If you do Vegas right, you are in a hotel room for a few hours each night to sleep and the price, the location and even many of the slots machines can't be beat at the Imperial Palace. We took two rooms at the IP (one with a pool view and one without). Both were satisfactory(we weren't expecting the Ritz). Our friends took one room at the overcrowed Mirage, paid the same price for one room as we did for two and they spent more time over on our side of the strip than we did on theirs. If you want a clean, consistent place to stay, superbly located, the IP is the place.

I had read other comments before we left and wasn't sure what to expect...boy were we pleasently surprised!! The night we checked in we were getting married and the managment upgraded our room to the luv tub suite for free! We had room service every morning for breakfast and it was not only inexpensive but consistently good. You did have to wait on an elevator sometimes but the wait was never long and we were intelligent enough to take into account that it is a 18+ story hotel. Check-in and out was fast and easy with no problems. Casino was one of the busiest on the strip and we had better luck there. we didn't get to try the pool or the luau but Legends was great! Don't go if your expecting ritz and glitz but it is a very nice hotel with a great location and decor right out of a Jackie Chan movie.

After reading some of the bad reviews I have to admit that a big mistake was made since my reservations were already made. First off the check in was super fast and informative. I also asked about the elevators being slow and they simply told me about the seldom used set at the back of the hotel. I could hardy count to ten second when one would arrive! I felt sorry for the guest using the one in the main part of the hotel......hehehe! I upgraded to a Luv Tub Suite, ( this is the trick) and WOW, WOW, WOW, what a room! SUPER clean, great air conditioning, great tub, dressing area with a second wash basin and mirrored closet doors. The air conditioning was so good I would set water bottles on it to chill them for the hot outdoor walks. I met the maid in the hallway the first morning and every day after that. I gave her a ten dollar tip right off the bat. I'm a pillow freak so she when and got three extra pillow for the bed (a king) so I had six in all. Because I stopped to introduce myself a learn a bit about her and give her the tip she totally stripped down the room each day and put new sheets and all in the room and even refresshed my supply of bubble bath for that huge roman tub in the middle of the room. I had a chance to catch the Legends show. I was so far back in the line going in about (300) deep, but the sectret is to have ten buck ready in hand to palm the matre'de. Once he sees that you know about this without him having to clear his throut to give you the hint he take you direct to front and center. Heck you can even lean your elbow on the stage! The drink service id super good. If you want value, this show is pretty good for the buck. The other show rooms in town are better but do cost more or you have to line up for your drinks. Now for the food, the Imperial buffet SUCKS!, even if it is cheap it really is not edible! I work in the food service business and know my food. The stuff they serve up here is the lowest quality that money can buy! All the other eating places do have good food though and priced reasonably. In the casino I found the dealer to be very personable and enjoy the time I did spend there. The location of the Imperial just can't be beat simply put. I had a chance to talk to other staying at the hotel to ask them how they liked it. If you took a stanard room, be warned! The Imperial is working to remodel them but for the most part the service is not as good and the rooms tend to be dirty. One lady told me she found a used tampon under the bathroom counter! So be smart a get the Mini Tuv Tub Suite and enjoy the stay without having any problems. I can't wait to go back!

Stayed there for 9 days in July/August. Service was excellent. Location was great, right across from the Mirage. Housekeeping was very accomidating. Got a great deal on the room and would definately go back again.

I had heard about the problem with the elevators before I went down. I could see many people waiting at the main bank of elevators and also at the secondary bank of elevators as well. Something that most people did not notice however was that there were signs saying that during the remodeling time, you could use the 2 service elevators. We used them the entire time we were there, and there was never a wait for elevators for us. I'm not sure why there weren't many others using them.

One minor bad thing was their irons and ironing boards. Bring your own iron if you want a good one. The board is very tiny and hard to iron on.

Great place to stay!!!

First of all this is not one of the newer plush resorts that you pay high dollars for. But, it is clean, comfortable, and has a special ambiance of it's own. The staff were friendly, check-in and out were handled quickly, and parking was very accessible. The restaurants were good and reasonable and Emperors Buffet was great. The Hawaiian Luau is a must for plenty of good food and entertainment. The location is at the heart of the Vegas Strip. The elevators were slow but that would not deter me from another stay at the Imperial Palace. The money saved here for the quality not expected was a great suprise.

We just returned from this hotel after spending 6 nights. The accommodations were just what we were looking for, nothing fancy just clean, comfortable rooms. The staff was very helpful from check-in to housekeeping. There were four of us in the room, and decided a roll-a-way bed may be better for my son to sleep in. I requested this in the morning, and within a half hour it was delivered to our room. It is in an ideal location, right in the middle of the strip. I would highly recommend Imperial Palace for someone looking for a reasonable deal. We would definitely stay here again.

Went to the slot tournament. You ate till you were stuffed. Great time had by all. Nice slot hosts, more thsn what i expected for the buy in price. Well worth the money. Was cheaper to do slot tournament than stay without. Food Galore. Had same room as May with small balcony overlooking strip. Looking forward to returning again for another slot tournament. They are fixing elevators so was on slow side. but great value and location very well made up for it.

It was what it was: A cheap room with a great Strip location to sleep a few hours, take a shower, and keep your stuff in. We got "a view room overlooking the Strip"! But... just was long as you stuck your head through the "P" in "Palace", you could see the Strip.

The front desk warned that the light from that particular sign would shine too bright into the room. That wasn't an issue at all. The only issue was the outdoor club between IP and Harrah's would thump your brains out until 3am (but, who sleeps in Vegas anyway...).

The hotel lobby and casino had a funny smell to it. With the Chinese theme to the hotel, it reminded me of a box of take-out I left in my fridge for half a year.

All in all, for the price- go for it! If you want ritz and glitz, go somewhere else and watch your wallet lose weight.

This was great!! I read all these reviews with a sinking pit in my stomach, thinking what have I gotten myself into... and yet - we loved the huge pool and that there were always charis and they gave you 2 towels without having to ask, and we thought our room was just fine, it had better air conditioning than any other place we have stayed in there (and some much pricier), the location was great, we loved our balcony, we liked the casino (we won $80 in nickel slots), we thought the people were super-nice, there was no line to check in and we got to check in early, they held our bags late, the housekeeping staff saw our "do not disturb" card on the door and wrote us a note to call whenever we wanted them to do the room, it is true the the front casino elevators were crowded, but we took the rear ones and then the escalators from the 2nd floor into the shopping arcade at the casino's rear. We also liked the 24-hour coffee shop. The rooms were fine, a little outdated but in good shape, clean and no musty smell. The only thing I would say is, we upgraded to the LuvTub room, and while it was nice (and fun) and we did enjoy the tub and the mirrors, we had thought the Tub would have jacuzzi jets, and it didn't. But still - nothing to complain about! We would go there again, totally.

After reading all the negative comments about this place I was prepared for the absolute worst stay. My stay was for 4 nights and the biggest problem I had was the turtle-paced, cramped, stuffy elevators and the food was left to be desired at both buffets. I did appreciate the attentive service and found a few gems in the slot machines. The location and service were very good. I had a decent room with a pool view so I could see the luau from my balcony (glad I didn't pay for it). This was my first visit to Las Vegas and I was not disappointed overall. Next time I go I definitely want to stay at the Mirage but IP was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

Me and my fiance went to Las Vegas to get married. I got a great deal on the IP thru expedia.com. We were very happy with the hotel, service, food and excitement. Check-In and Check-Out went without a hitch. We even got a free upgrade to the Luv Tub room. The mirrors are awesome! We were mesmerized! The front desk person, Naomi, was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on the 8th floor with a pool view and our housekeeper Sommie was friendly and a pleasure to talk to. It would be nice to see the hotel get some modern updates and get a thourough scrubbing. It wasn't dirty, it is just an old hotel in the heart of all the new hotels around it. I wouldn't trade my first LV stay for anything. Murray and May in the lounge were fantastic and the food at the Emporers Buffet hit the spot all six times we ate there (of course, I'm a Golden Corral freak anyway!). My husband, Gary and I will probably stay in a different hotel the next visit, just so we can see another end of the Strip. But, we will definately stay at the IP for "wedding bell memories"!

You can't beat the IP for price and location. We stay there every time we visit Vegas. Many times people tend to get way to picky. Remember all you really need in Vegas is a clean room, a shower and a good bed. The IP has all of these and for a decent price. The IP was the first place we stayed in 1991 and we continue to return at least once a year.

Just returned from another slot tournament and although we did not place in the $ our friends came in second place which made it very exciting for the rest of us. We were so glad to see that Robert was again our waiter at the banquet as we have known him for the past 8 years and we really appreciate his service. Joey couldn't have been more accomodating at the V.I.P. desk when we checked in. Yes, the elevators are still very slow but that will probably never change and complaining doesn't hurry them up any.

Stayed at the "IP" last week and had mixed feelings. The room was more than adequate with a view of the pool. The bed was just fine. But.........my room wasn't made up until almost 5:00 every day (totally inadequate for my needs). As well, had I not been comped the Emperor's Buffet for two trips, I would never had gone a second time. The "Hot" food was cold, the "Cold" food was warm, and even the milk was only cool at best. Location is fantastic, but having to put up with the service made the visit less that acceptable. However, if you do want to try the Hawaiian Luau, I highly recommend going. Tons of very good food, all the Mai Tais and Pina Coladas you want, and an excellent Polynesian Show. Go for the show, skip staying here.

The Imperial Palace is a fun place to hang out, but staying there is another issue. 2 main problems: Crappy room, crowded elevators.
My wife and I are not that picky. We just want a clean, quiet, comfortable room. Okay, so the beds are comfortable, I'll give them that. But the room was dirty- the walls, the ceiling, the floor, and the bathroom all could use a thourough scrubbing. Every morning, there was debris on the floor and the bathtub because the ceiling is starting to decay. The fan in our bathroom was broken. It made a horrible clunking noise every time we turned on the bathroom light. They sent someone up to fix it, but the guy said it was too big a project to tackle until after we checked out, so we had to live with that. One of the mornings we had to wake up early, like it or not, because maintenance was scraping tile in the bathroom above ours.
And yes, the elevators suck at the Imperial Palace. We were on the 5th floor, so we could walk down the stairs to the lobby. But they lock the door from the stairs on the 5th floor, so we were forced to wait for an elevator to get up there. Too many people, not enough elevators.
The staff there is friendly. But this place needs a major overhaul, even if it is only 20 years old or so.

We found what we wanted - a good price for a great location. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We got in late and they could only offer the combination of non-smoking and king on the side overlooking Harrah's with a band playing outside. They offered to move us the next day but we stayed since we were out until about the time the band stopped anyway. No elevator problems on that wing.

I didn't actually stay at the hotel, but I did visit the Hawaiian Hot Luau at the Imperial Palace. I went on a Tuesday, so the Luau was held poolside. What a horrible experience. They crammed about 700 people into a spot more fit for 150-200, there were rows and rows of table where we were literally shoulder to shoulder with the person next to us and back to back with the person behind us. They also had us get to the "buffet" by table. By the time we were fed, we had already been sitting at the table for over an hour. How is any of the food they served "Hawaiian"? They had a dry roast pork, shrimp cocktail (the only thing I ended up eating), some fried rice and potatoes. I was expecting Poi, a roasted pig (well, they did have a roasted pig, but it was for display only!)and other traditional Hawaiian foods. Oh yeah, and the unlimited Mai-Tais and Pina coladas? They may have well been coconut juice and fruit punch... no alcohol whatsoever, and all melted! Entertainment was sub-par, did not sound so great and we couldn't even see because we were seated so far back! I also did not appreciate being forced to take a picture, just so they can rob me of more money. Other places I've been, you can just decline, but the photographer would not leave us alone until we agreed to the picture! I left as soon as I was done eating... Spent close to $60 for some shrimp cocktail. VERY DISAPPOINTED. ADVICE: Do not see this attraction!

The best part about this hotel is the location. The worse part is the rooms. Though they are clean, they desperately need to be upgraded. The decor screams 80's. The staff was friendly and helpful which was good considering we had to ask a maid for directions everytime we went back to our room. The hotel layout is confusing and the elevators are located in odd places. I would suggest this hotel to any budget traveler who wants cleanliness and a prime location but is not concerned about grandeur.

I thought our room was nice, I really enjoyed the balcony. We used the stairs alot and got plenty of excerise. We were in Las Vegas for a hockey tournament which got cancelled because the Ice Gardens went into receivership, but I don't think the anyone was to upset about that. I think it is overpriced for being an older hotel even if we were staying on a weekend. I enjoyed the band in the lounge in the front of the casino very much (very nice music). I met a very nice person there. Everyone there is very friendly but I'am not sure I would stay there again. Sincerely Leanne

Aging property. Elevators are slow and inadequate. Room climate control was the "in the wall" type, very noisy. Balcony was useless, given the surrounding noise of hundreds of nearby A/C units. A typical, 2 star hotel.

Casino was crowded, no room to move around. Awful restaurants, awful buffet. Only $10 coin in for one point on their slot card, but if you bet $9.95, and pulled the card out to put in a new machine, your countdown started all over again.

Location on the Strip is among the best. That's the ONLY reason you should stay here.

Sure it's small, and sometimes cramped, but the service is great, the staff very friendly, and trust me, the upgrade to the Luv Tub or King room is well worth the extra few bucks!!!!!

If anyone has any questions about the IP, it's location, etc., feel free to email me at jarhead1@comcast.net. I will be happy to reply.

Service was great - checked in early, got a nice clean room with standard amenities, and a comfortable bed. Outstanding strip location - right across from Cesaers and The Mirage. It's an older hotel and a bit on the smoky side, but it's cheap and you can't beat the location. Anyone complaining is expecting too much and should be stay at the Venetian. As far as I'm concerned, you just need a clean room in a good location. You can gamble, eat, and drink anyplace. Again, great value.

Our room was adequate, but grossly overpriced at $110 per night.
The room was old, but only the bathroom showed its age poorly.

The elevators are very slow and not adequate for the number
of people staying there. We walked down the stairs from the 7th
floor rather than take the elevator. The stairs are not an option
when going up since there is no entry to the floors from the
stairway.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent.
The casino was crowded, but easier to negotiate than some of
the larger casinos nearby.

The room is such a poor value for the price, we will not stay there again.
If the staff were all to go to another hotel, we would consider that
hotel.

I'm not one to complain much but I do have some standard expecations. Namely cleanliness. I got a room on the 6th floor with a view of the chimney. The rooms were extremely dirty. I walked barefoot from my bathroom to the bed and my feet were black from the dirty carpets. I had to wear my shoes in this room to keep my socks clean. The walls we steaked with stains and the there were globules of stucco or something in certain places. The room was poorly lit and this had to do with the paint on the walls being dirty. What a terrible room and terrible place to stay. The Casino is ok and that's the only place I'll visit if I was to walk in this building. But I'll never stay in in any of the rooms the imperial palace has to offer again. The only thing good about this place is the location. Spend the extra $$ to stay in a cleaner hotel.

When we stay on the Strip we stay at the Imperial. We like the older smaller casinos and this one is great. Got upgrade to Love Tub room and was very nice. I wanted to take the bed home, best I ever slept in. Once again was able to check-in early, even on Super Bowl day. Chris at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Teahouse is ok to eat in. Betty's Diner has the best banana split in the world. We even got to lose all the money we took to lose, so it was great.

Not a bad place to stay location wise, it's near everything on the strip. It's an older and smaller hotel, so if you're looking for something newer and bigger, this is not the place. The gaming area seems cramped due to limited space and the lighting is low, so if you like that, this is the place to play. The room was decent and clean, the bathroom is small but they do have electric hair dryers which was good since I forgot mine. The only complaint I have is that there seemed to be no crowd control before the fireworks during the fireworks and after the fireworks. I was standing in the driveway of IP and people were pushing & shoving, girls were crying from the stress of the possibility of being trampled on, and the IP staff didn't have bull horns or whistles or something to keep people in order, they just kept yelling. Other than the craziness of standing outside to ring in the New Year, it wasn't a bad visit.

It was great view by middle of strip and very close to other cross of street by Caesars Palace. It was good prcies to stay there rather we don't have to stay in the room or same one place all day and night. That was waste our time.
We have to get out and look around into different hotels etc or events. During night out to listen free concert lives bands music. It was worth it to stay this hotel in that middle of strip than far away compare to downtown strip.
Service people were friendly. But casino pretty crown area and some of smoking lot. Need more space room. Beside close to Harrah or Flamingo .. only walk 1 min these hotels.

The IP is old but you can't beat the location. My room was wheelchair accessible and very nice. The elevator situation is very bad. If it's busy you can wait a long time to get downstairs. That is my only complaint. The buffet is just OK but if it's comped it's fine otherwise eat at Harrah's. Everyone was very helpful. The casino is small but I like the lower table minimums and if your looking for someone you have a chance of finding them. I got their anniversary special. You can't beat 4 nights for $92 dollars!!!

After reading some of the other comments, I wasn't really thrilled about staying here. Glad we did though!!! We stayed at the IP from January 27th till the 31st. For the short period of time your in your room, the size was good. Enjoyed having a big bathroom!!!
Cleaning staff is friendly. Asked for more towels as, I was rooming with my daughter and one of her girlfriends. The lady gave me a stack of towels. She must have a lot of daughters herself and understood why we needed more.
If your thinking of staying here, be sure to see the Legens in Concert show!! REALLY a good program. My "new" son-in-law stated, it was better then the one they saw at another hotel on the Strip! My husband informed the door man that I was hearing impaired and we were able to sit right up by the stage too!
On the down side, it would have been a lot better for myself if the TV's had closed captioning. Got rather trying for me having to ask my husband all the time about something on the news. They could also lower the price of the Ninetendo rental. Almost $7.00 an hour is really STEEP.

Got a great room rate for the Weekend of MLK's birthday. Rooms were clean, but had to go through the casino and the elevator wait was rather long. Housekeeping was very nice, always provided extra towels, pillows quickly upon request. Motel 6/Super 8 quality at those prices. For a place to sleep, highly recommended!

I stayed at the IP from 17-21 December 2001. i was totally impressed with the staff, hotel, and service. i would stay here again without hesitation. As far as one of the comments about no early check in.... I was permitted to check in at 1030, 5 hours ahead of their posted check in time. I just wonder how the person approached the subject. I had no complaints with the food, with the exception of the Burger Palace. Anyone looking for a nice room for a good price, consider the IP. The service, price, and location cant be beat. anyone with any questions, feel free to email me at emtcater@adelphia.net

I have stayed at the Imperial Palace about 3 times in the last 4 years. The
casino is in a great location, but that is all they have going for them. The
wait for the elevators is awful. They do give you comps for the buffet which
is the worst buffet in Vegas. I wasn't even taking the comps anymore it
was so awful. The room I had this last December was dirty, maid service
was horrible. The heater system made so much noise, I couldn't keep
the thing on at night. I tried to get my room comped and they would only
comp me 2 out of 4 nights, and I was playing $25 Blackjack. This place is
a dump and needs to be torn down. The pool is awful as well, they might
as well not even have a pool. I would never stay here again.

I was back in Vegas May 3-7 and had a great visit at the Flamingo and got
everything comped from room to all my meals. The room was 100%
better then the Imperial Dump and the Food was fantastic.

When is this casino scheduled for implosion? About the only thing this place has going for it, is it's location. We had a room with two beds to choose from, on sagged really bad, the other was lumpy. How much can it possibly cost to by a matress in bulk? Certain not $160, which is how much we paid a night for 3 nights. The decor was bad, like it was out of a budget movie or something. And We could hear noise from the street all night long. I won't stay at this place again. Not even as a last resort. I'll drive to laughlin first.

We stayed at the Imperial Palace on Thanksgiving weekend in 2001. We chose the hotel as part of a charter package and also because of its great location on the strip. We could walk to everywhere that we wanted to go, except the airport!
Yes, the rooms are small and dated, but was clean and well kept. The elevators were slow as others have reported. The food was adequate for the price. You can't expect much more for what we paid. We ate next door at Harrah's and down the street at the Frontier (twice). We actually spent more time away from the IP than we did there. Isn't that why you go to Vegas anyway??? As for the person who paid $110 for their room, yes you were robbed. It must have been a special event or something. I would not pay that much for any room at the IP. Overall, a good value, nothing spectacular, but clean and neat and RIGHT in the MIDDLE of everything!

I have entered comments about the IP a few times before. It still amazes me that people complain about the IP being small and cramped. Face it, Folks, it IS small and cramped...but what did you pay for your room? You certainly didn't pay for a Bellagio, Mirage or Venetian room!!!!

We've been staying at the IP for the past 10 years, and will continue to stay there. It is located smack in the middle of the strip, and we can walk to any other place on the strip. The rooms aren't luxurious, but who spends that much time in the room? We visit Vegas to gamble and have a good time. Where we sleep is the last of my worries. The staff at the IP have always been friendly and helpful, and I certainly agree with one of the previous comments about the Luv Tub room...worth the upgrade. Same goes for the "King" room. But again, that's only if you're spending any appreciatable time in your room.

The IP is the best value in Vegas, bar none!!!! If you're looking to be pampered and want luxury all around you, stay elsewhere. If you're looking to save some money and still have a great time, the IP is great!!!

If anyone would care for more information about our visits to the IP, or any other questions concerning Vegas, feel free to email me at jarhead1@comcast.net.

It's a great deal,

We've stayed at the IP twice in 2001 (March and October). You can't beat the value and location of this hotel/casino. All the staff was friendly and the casino was small enough to feel very comfortable. Yes, this is one of the older locations on the strip, but for the price, you just can't beat it. The rooms are alright (comparable to a Holiday Inn), and the fact that each room has it's own balcony is neat. Just ask for poolside balcony. People always complain about the slow elevators, but if you just walk around to the back *(15 feet away), there are 2 more sitting there that about 80% of the people don't even use. The check in was quick, the help friendly, the location unbeatable and the casino was really good to me. The comps aren't back either. This is a great place to stay for the value, besides, you don't really spend too much time in the room.

this was our first visit to Vegas, we picked to hotel because it has a Chinese theme, pot luck really as we are from the UK, in my opinion it really did not have that good a Chinese theme, but that's Vegas all over,

the hotel was clean, the rooms OK, I have read the comments about the elevators (we call them lifts) and would add that they seemed fine to me, in some of the "super" hotel/casinos you could spend a lot of time getting from your room to the strip, not so with the IP,

we do not gamble so I cannot pass comment in that respect but I can sat that location, location, location is everything and with this in mind the IP gets 15 out of 10,

no one on this site has mentioned that car collection which is BRILLIANT and well worth the visit, get a free pass from the time share guys on the strip outside the IP, tell them you are from the UK and they will leave you alone,

the outside bar between the IP and Harrays is great fun, pay $1.75 at the strip enterance bar/slots instead of $4.50 for a bottle of Bud inside,

we are stopping at NYNY in three weeks (for two weeks)(early Sept 2002), wish I had come across this site befor I booked,

have fun, kind regards from the UK, BB,
ps the Mexican Restaurant at the New Frontier is GREAT

It was ok, we'd stay there again, but it's not the Taj Mahal.
I remember the elevators were slow. I found it kind of a pain to walk
all through the noisy and crowded casino to get to the elevators after
we had just checked-in.
Most casinos are like that, but this seems just a bit too crowded near
the check-in desk. The room was fine, we had a view of some mall area.
It was clean and adequate. We don't spend a lot of time in a hotel
room, just a place to sleep.

OK before I go any further, rent the Lovetub Room. By the time you pay for a regular room at all the other hotels, you can get a lovetub room, which all over look the pool for the same price. For $20-30 you're going to get a $20-30 room, so don'at expect a miracle! The the LT room has a huge bathtub in which you can seriously get about 3 people in. It's not an oversized tub like the other hotels say, this is actually a big "A" bathtub. As far as eating there, why would you? You in the center of the strip so you're close to all the hotels and their eateries. You want a good buffet? Walk out the front of the IP, turn right, take about 100 steps and go in Harrahs! It's convenient and close by! People are complaining but I see it this way. Even on their lowest days, have you ever seen MGM with a room for $10? Has the Bellagiogiven you a room for $20? Then shut up! The best value on the strip is the IP Love Tub! Hands down!! IF you're there with someone special wouldn't you want to grab a nice bottle of champagne and relax in the tub? If you're there to just gamble, gamble, gamble, get their cheapest room and play somewhere else and get comped there. C'mon people! If they were giving everything away in Vegas, it wouldn't exist!

We had been staying at the Luxor and went out of town for a few days, returning on a Saturday night when room prices can jump as much as 60 per cent. We found we could not afford the room we had been occupying and took the Imperial as a cheap alternative. The hotel has a great location and is opposite Ceasers Palace - probably for this reason the valet parking was full when we arrived which meant a fair amount of time was wasted trying to get into the huge car park and then navigating back to our room. The corridors leading to the rooms have seen better days and the sports and leisure facilities are not up the standard of most other Vegas hotels but still probably rival those in much more expensive hotels elsewhere. The casino is frantic and seems to have more crammed into it than other hotels on the strip, This can cause a few problems when trying to get from check to your room with several cases. You have to cross the casino floor to get to the elevator. All said and done the room was fine we had a loev tub that was a massive bath and mirrors all round great fun I woudl stay here again if I was on a budget and I think it is the best value on the Strip. Just want to make sure this place gets its due. This was the worst hotel I have stayed in in Las Vegas. The service was terrible. We were there in August and the room we were given had air conditioning that did not work. We called for service 4 times before someone showed up 5 hours later. They replaced the filter and said everything was fixed. The room went from about 85 degrees down to about 78-totally unacceptable. We went out while they tried to find us another room and ate at the buffet. This was the worst buffett I have ever eaten at. The food was dry, hard and tasted bad. We finally were able to switch rooms, but the temperature never really got below about 70 degrees so sleeping was uncomfortable all the time we were there. To get from the hotel room to the parking garage, you have to go from the hotel elevator all across the casino, up two flights of stairs and take two more elevators to get to your floor. We usually valet, but OOOOOPS! valet was full, even for guests of the hotel! You can talk about the location all you want, but there is no POSSIBLE WAY we will ever stay here again. For about the same room rate you can stay at a luxury property like the Golden Nugget. If you stay here, consider yourself forewarned.

I normally stay at the San Remo but due to a convention they were booked and ended up staying here. The room was clean and although the desk staff was "swamped" with check-ins, they were very polite. This hotel boasts one of the best steak houses in town - The Embers Room. Since my stay last year, I have visited this restaurant on three further visits. The steaks are fabulous! As for those of you who complain about the low-priced rooms and their subsequent offerings, you were too cheap to book at the Belliagio so don't expect a Belliagio room! You're in Las Vegas so you should only be in your room while you're being banged or napping between casino plays!!
