Great place, awesome location. Even won money there. They have some strange rules on their blackjack...dealer doesn't check for blackjack unless there is an ace showing. That can kill you on double downs.

Perfect location. Room was on 2nd foor looking directly down on the pedestrian
bridge coming from Ballys. Perfect for 24 hour people watching. Traffic was
loud but that was to be expected on this famous 4 corner 24hour location on the
strip. Good value and no long haul from your room to the action. Good
staff also that did not seem stressed out trying to please 3 or 4 thousand hotel
guests every night like the other close-by mega-resorts. Have found a new home
on the strip.

We really enjoyed our stay at Barbary. The room was nicer and larger than I expected for the price. There was a musty smell coming from the ventilation system (due to the excess rain they had had recently I'm told)but the staff was all too willing to change our room on request. We found everyone to be friendly, and checking in and out was a breeze!! Absolutely no line!!! If you are impatient like we are about spending time in lines go here!! The casino was very small but we liked that. Some of the others we visited we actually got lost in!!! It was not crouded at all (because we were there midweek perhaps?) and refreshments were offered frequently. We only played slots so can't really comment on the tables. And also we didn't eat there at all but heard the Victorian room is great. We should have eaten there rather than a recommended buffet down the street! We found the location to be perfect...a walkable distance to everything we wanted to go to, which was partly why we chose this hotel....all the rest of the pluses just added to the value of the trip. It has no pool but we didn't plan to swim so why pay for something we won't use. Very anxious to go again!!

Very nice visit. Previously I stayed at Harrah's on the Strip and Golden Nugget Downtown. Decided to give Barbery Coast a try. Contrary to what is said in other websites, all the King rooms (including mine) do NOT view Flamingo St. Mine viewed the Flamingo Hotel but it was perfectly fine. The room was big, clean, and nicely furnished. I especially liked the sink/vanity outside the toilet/bath which was convenient. The Coffeshop (Victorian Room) was ALWAYS busy and usually had a wait except off hours. But they have a system where you put your name on the list and they page you when the table is ready. Everyone was friendly and it literally took 2 minutes to get from the parking garage or the Strip to my hotel room.

WE STAYED AT THE FLAMINGO FOR OUR WEDDING/HONEYMOON, THE PARENTS STAYED AT THE BARBARY COAST. WE ENDED UP DOING MOST OF OUR GAMBLING HERE, NEVER HAD TO WAIT FOR A COCKTAIL WAITRESS, THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND FREQUENT WITH THE DRINKS, UNLIKE THE FLAMINGO! WE WERE COMPED SEVERAL MEALS IN THE VICTORIAN ROOM, WHERE THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT, AS WELL AS THE FOOD. THE CASINO/HOTEL IS SMALL BUT PERFECT FOR THOSE WHO DON'T WANT TO, OR ARE UNABLE TO WALK 1/2 MILE TO THEIR ROOMS. THE ROOMS WERE SPACIOUS, COMFORTABLE AND A GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY. THE PARENTS WERE QUITE PLEASED WITH EVERYTHING, AND WE WOULD CONSIDER STAYING HERE OURSELVES ON OUR NEXT TRIP.

The Barbary Coast is clean considering the place is rather small. The bartenders
are the greediest people in all of the town. The cocktail waitresses are the best looking women there but it's overall a big drag. Go to the 4 Queens instead.

I couldn't have asked for a better stay than I received from the staff at the BC. I really liked the small size after spending the first half of my visit at the LV Hilton. Never a wait for anything - elevator, room service, help from the front desk or the bellman. The room was clean and serviced promptly and efficently every day. The staff meet my every request with a smile. The food in the Victorian room was tasty and price nicely. Best of all was the location. Right in the heart of Las Vegas. The casino is small but when you play at a decent level they notice your play. It is old school Vegas at the BC - the way it should be.

Great base location for walking around strip, great casino, easy-to-access parking garage, large rooms with very attractive furnishings, excellent restaurants; only downside this trip - never seen before so openly at Barbary Coast - were the hookers who were soliciting in the elevators and turning tricks in SUV's and vans in the parking garage - but hotel security was working on the problem and we're told by other visitors that the this problem isn't unique to Barbary Coast.

based upon comments from this site, booked mid-week room and paid $86 including tax. location was fantastic, check-in took one minute with room ready at 9am whick was unbelievable. four floors of rooms, took less than five minutes to walk to room. the only downer about this hotel was the casino table minimums. at 10 am on a tuesday morning, $10 minimum blackjack and pai gow. come on now, even though this is a strip hotel that is a little too high. gave it a try and quickly lost a nice little bank roll. dealers friendly and pit bosses nice, but when players at a $10 table, cards dealt down pull on a soft 21, it is time to leave. still like the nugget downtown. check out, took 30 seconds. parking garage nice and easy, not necessary to valet at the hotel. did not try the victorian room, line was rather long.

This was our second stay at the Barb. Will stay again. We love the location and the ease at which you can get to the strip from your room. Ate at the Victorian for the first time. The food was excellent and the service superb. The best thing was the Coffee - don't know what brand they use but is was the best We'd ever tasted. Finally won a little on the slots the first day but lost it back the second. The staff we encountered were always friendly and helpful. Still wish they had a coffee maker in the room! I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a good location and a nice clean room with a view.

Our first trip to Vegas and we stayed here for three nights. Everything was great except for a Bell Cap that got all bent out of shape when I borrowed a cart on my own to move my wife's medical equipment to our room. Everyone else at the hotel & casino was very friendly. Victorian Room restaurant was a excellent value and had great food. Will stay here again because of the prime location, (we had a awesome view down the strip), the comfortable atmosphere, clean & spacious rooms, and overall value, ($39 a night for us).

We initially booked the Barbary Coast because of the reasonable price and it's location. I had no idea what we would find once we got there. But that gamble paid off big time!! We were given a king room on the fourth (and top) floor. It had great views including the Bellagio fountain shows. I could lie in bed and see the Eiffel Tower! We were close to the front of the building and not much happened that we couldn't see.
I have now stayed in five different Las Vegas hotels and this one is by far the most convenient! No, it's not the fanciest hotel on the strip, but it has a class all it's own.
The rooms are large, the beds comfortable and the prices reasonable. And The Victorian Room is the best breakfast restaurant in town. The coffee is delicious and the service excellent. We also ended up eating other meals there besides breakfast, too.
There is not a marble lobby or marble statues, but the elevator takes you almost directly to your room. There is no mile long hike to your room. The location is such that you have your choice of any casino on the strip. And the crosswalk/bridge that takes you across the strip is right at their door.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you want to pay a lot more for less service and more hassle.
This hotel surely deserves all the good reviews!

The Barbary Coast is a solid few-frills hotel in the best location on the
strip. Stayed there 4 nights, never felt crowded or stood in a long line. Of
course this is due to the lower crowds during the summer, but being a
smaller hotel helps.

The casino is OK, the best part is the sportsbook where the odds are
some of the best in Vegas and the hot dogs are good and cheap. The
rooms were roomy and clean. For $59 a night I was very satisfied with
this property.

my wife and I didn't stay here (we were at Luxor) but we are going to on our next trip to vegas. We played slots here every morning for a week while we were in vegas last june and the drink service was great. They were always there (we tip each drink) and very friendly. My first big slot win was there, and we did pretty well. the place was homey and inviting (like our favorite hometown bar after a rat-pack makeover). We had the T-Bone special 3 times at the coffeeshop there and my wife still remembers each one fondly). Barbary Coast is not an impressive place- it is a comfortable place- and we felt more at home there than anywhere else in vegas. See you soon, BC!

Excellent location and great room. Even-numbered rooms face south towards Bally's (good view) but bad for emergency vehicle sirens late at night. Odd-numbered rooms face Flamingo - view not as good but much quieter. Being a small hotel, no lines for elevators - quick access. Two things I missed - no soda machines anywhere and no in-room safe. We used to avoid this casino because of excessive smoke but that is much better now. We'd be happy to stay here again. Also, frequent shuttles to sister properties (Gold Coast, Orleans). Good value.

What a great location!!!! I was very dubious about staying at a smaller casino. I thought we would missing a lot of the Las Vegas Experience. Was I wrong!!!! After visiting some of the larger casinos in the area i really welcomed coming home to the convenience of the Barbary Coast. We didn't have to walk miles to the casino or restaurants, which was a welcome relief after walking all day.
When we checked in, two hicks from Florida, I asked the very friendly desk clerk if we would be able to see the Bellageo fountain from our room? She gave us room #304. WOW!!!! What a fantastic view of the spectacular show. Additionally, we had a stained glass window in our bathroom which opened, allowing the great music, playing during the performance, to fill our room. We felt sorry for the people outside as we had the best seats in the house.
The $10.95 T-bone in the Victorian Room was as good a steak as I have ever had.
Perfectly cooked (medium rare) and so tender it melted in our mouths. The Bleu cheese dressing in the salad was to die for. Harold, our waiter was as friendly and accomodating as could be. Our room was more than adequite for our needs considering all the other benefits we received from our stay.
Housekeeping delivered a coffee pot and extra pillow as requested quite promptly with good Columbian coffee. After seeing the people at other hotels being herded like cattle and the looks of frustation trying to find their way around, I will take the Barbary Coast anytime. Just so darn convenient. Our daughter and her husband stayed at another hotel two weeks before we arrived and after being told about the Barbary Coast, they plan to stay there on their next trip. Room 304.

we arrived early and were told we would have to wait two hours for a double room. fine by us.

we went and ate and came back and learned that a double room wouldnt be available until the next day. why didnt they tell us that the first time? they denied saying it. we BOTH heard her say "you can wait two hours for a double room, or take a king room now"

long story short, we argued, took the king room, filled out the hotel survey card and we got two free rooms coming for out next trip.

our room overlooked the bellagio waterfalls and the eiffel tower. i think if we were closer to the elevator, we might have had our view blocked by the bally's sign. we were in room 210 and had an excellent non-blocked view.

the food is great in the victorian room.

i have a personal "no staying in the same hotel twice" rule applied to vegas, but i would definitely stay here again if i brought someone for their first trip to vegas. everyone should have a nice view to look at for their first trip. and for the price, you simply can NOT beat this.

Location, location, location, - can't beat it!
This was our fifth stay at the Barbary. Obviously, we like it there.
We like the convenience of a smaller casino (quick check-in and check-out, easy access to rooms, and no need to trek through the casino with all our baggage).

We play video poker. The Barbary is the only strip casino to offer full-pay deuces wild. As well, they have full-pay double bonus poker. The smallness of the property does work against them, as sometimes it's difficult to get a machine, since there aren't a lot of either.

Casino staff are, for the most part, very friendly.

The rooms now have hair dryers and clock radios.

This is the 4th or 5th time I've stayed at Barbary Coast. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean - separate tub area and also a separate seating area. Nice little window that opens in the bathroom. Could see the Bellagio fountains from my window.
I like the idea that you can be in your room in less than 5 minutes - some hotels I've stayed in took forever to even find the elevators. When I'm heading to my room I'm usually really tired and just want to get there!
Staff is friendly and courteous - check-in is always very quick. Bellmen are excellent - from storing your bags to hailing a cab - great service.
The restaurant will put your name on a list and call you when you're table is ready so you can gamble until it is.
Usually have decent luck gambling there and the tables are fun.
I would recommend the Barbary Coast to anyone and the location is perfect.

For a smaller hotel in the midst of Giants, the rooms and service at
the Barbary compete with the best of them. The rooms are spacious
and clean and quick'n easy to find without having to have the hotel
blue prints. Casino and Sportsbook are adequate but the location of
this hotel is the real perk.

I really was impressed by the room. I have stayed at NYNY , Luxor, and T.Island before, and this is a better room than any of those. Maybe not as modern looking but definately bigger and classier. The restuarants are a bit over priced i think, but its god food, and they do have some good late night specials. the dealers are nice and drink service is pretty good. I honestly believe it probally one of the better deals on the strip, when you can lock in a good rate, I do seem to notice that there rates fluctuate a lot. sometimes weekdays are $45 sometimes there like $80. probally do to the fact they dont have many rooms, i think there are only 3 floors. but its quick to go to your room from the casino.

The Barb. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE to stay when in Vegas if you don't have kids and don't hang out in the hotel all day. Why? It's strategically placed in the best intersection on the strip - right smack in the middle, next to Caesars, Bellagio, Ballys, Flamingo, Forum Shops, etc.,etc. AND for the best value in table games and especially Keno in a casual atmosphere, catch the free shuttle over the interstate to the Gold Coast. Eat at the Rio Buffet nextdoor to Gold Coast. I haven't gambled too much at the Barb, to be honest, but what I have (BlackJack) has been great. I've always gotten rooms here at the $49 rate. Compare THAT to it's neighbors. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Ok, so it's not family friendly because it's not for kids - no pool, but... if you HAVE to take your kids, Excalibur is the best deal. Not taking kiddies to Vegas? BOOK A ROOM here! Nothing fancy, just CLEAN, CHEAP, FRIENDLY, and above all: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION !!!!
