Date Visited: 09/03 - Good Visit I was not sure what I was going to get in this hotel, I was very plesantly surprised as was my wife. we were reserved for a Tower room and was offered an upgrade to a Junior Suite for $10.00 a night it was well worth the small amount that we paid. It was a large room on the corner of the hotel with a good view of the Experience, the casino was small but clean, not crowded, the dealers were friendly and patient with me as I was learning to quickly use the BJ odds card so as to play smartly. They also threw in 2 comped breakfast buffets(simple, but very good. I will use them the next time that we go to vegas for the downtown portion of our trip. It was nice to be so close tothe action but away from all of noise and traffic. <5dpman -at- msn.com> - Kenmore WA USA - Added 09/14/03 - [4.65.159.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/03 - Bad Visit The room was just OK..I didn't expect the Ritz. However, the toilet ran and we had to jiggle the flusher .(I can do that at home ) and the blackjack dealers treated me like I was their worst enemy .Personally , I don't think I'll ever go there again <evian1 -at- hotmail.com> - USA - Added 07/09/03 - [64.10.150***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/03 - Undecided We booked this hotel through a travel agency and upon arrival were told our room was in Garden Area. This didn't sound appealing so we asked to have a tower room instead and were told the upgrade would be an additional 40.00 for deluxe suite. We didn't see anything "deluxe" about our room except maybe the small refrigerator. Good points about this property, close to Fremont Street and Neonopolis and Transit Center if taking the city bus to the strip. The casino did not impress me although the man/dealer at sports betting was very informative when my husband asked how to place a bet. There was talk amongst the housekeeping staff that they would be making one of the towers into time shares/condos in the next year or so. Next trip I am staying on the strip. <kdt68 -at- hotmail.com> - USA - Added 05/21/03 - [65.112.12***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/03 - Good Visit I was quite surprised at how nice our room at the Lady Luck was. My friend and I went to Vegas to document an ultra-cheap under $100 Vegas trip, and the Lady was the cheapest room available. The room was quite nice and clean for the money (nothing fancy) and had everything we wanted. I was very happy with it. The location was close enough to Fremont Street to get there quickly, but not so close that we were hearing blaring music all night. If I ever decide to go ultra-cheap downtown again, I'd gladly stay there. The casino was "meh" and I didn't play there, so I can't say much about it. I had a nice, large room on the 10th floor of the East Tower with a great view. The bathroom had a lot of space too. Check-in and check-out were no problem. And the location of the Lady Luck is in close proximity to Freemont St; it is a very quick and easy walk. I would definitely stay here again. The place has a very friendly, "at home" atmosphere to it. They care about their customers at the Lady Luck. <nmg37 -at- earthlink.net> - Hampton VA USA - Added 03/19/03 - [198.26.132.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/03 - Undecided Was told my room was in the east tower when it was really in the West tower, how does that happen. The blackjack and craps dealers were very friendly, and the $5 minimum was relatively affordable. The service in the bar is excellent...they will page through their bartender's guide to find out how to make any strange drink you might want to order. Didn't have the famous 99 cent hot dogs, but did have dinner at the Bergundy Room, where the service is excellent without being obtrusive and the food is quite good and very attractively presented. I will undoubtedly pay the Lady Luck another brief visit, at least, when I return to Vegas. <coatesdj -at- uchicago.edu> - Chicago IL USA - Added 04/22/03 - [66.73.169.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 02/03 - Good Visit I booked a room on a thursday night for the night evening. I got to the hotel and was told my room was in the garden area. I understood that after staying in the hotel before. The desk clerk, who was very nice and attentive, told me she could upgrade my room for a very small fee - to one of the jacuzzi suites in the west tower. This suite was similar to the standard room at the Rio and was an excellent deal for the money. The suite was excellent, the jacuzzi was relaxing. I had a great stay and thank the Lady Luck staff. In January I stayed in the garden area and found it to be a very nice room. Come on - you get what you pay for and at 19.99 what do you think you will get. This was a very nice room. I stayed for three nights. The service was good and how do you beat the price??? The Fremont street experience is 4 minutes from your room. If you are going to stay downtown - the Lady Luck will do you no wrong. <remat -at- yahoo.com> - Barstow CA USA - Added 02/26/03 - [67.227.23***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/02 - Undecided Did not stay at LL, but visited for a couple hours. I always win at blackjack there, but the slot machines suck. Not because they don't pay, but because they always have technical problems. Also, the slot techs take too long to come over to fix the machines. The Lady Luck players club has some decent perks compared to the others. We thought the 2 for 1 buffet coupon looked like a good deal, but the breakfast buffet we had was crap. Not much ambience either to say the least. I will go back only for the blackjack. <jsexton -at- mn.rr.com> - Minneapolis MN USA - Added 11/09/02 - [65.29.57.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/02 - Bad Visit Being in the Hospitality and Tourism business for over 23 years I would rate this hotel as very poor, from first arriving and first impressions where the Front desk clerk looked like he slept in his shirt and forgot to shave. On Booking in my wife tried several times to give him our reservation # he wasn't interested asked of Credit card and cotinued to work on his computer and every time wife tried to ask a question she was cut off, he handed us two keys and pointing the dir3ection out to the Elevators. arriving in our room found it was on the 5 floor smoking get this we DO NOT smoke and were never given the choice of smoker or non smoking. form here it went down hill until we booked out. The service was extremely bad, The Staff were rude, unfriendly, unprofessional, and lazy. I was left with the impression that all the staff only cared about getting your money and giving nothing in return. I have to mention this also the person's comments with Re to jackets and free gifts, you must have been really lucky. I watched several people try for the jacket and with no luck in fact during my seven {7} day stay I never did see any one win their wind breaker nor wear one.. Oh I tell a lie here I did see one person wearing one he was one of the STAFF. House keeping was no better on arrival our room HAD 3 face towels, 3 hand towels and 3 bath towels. that was day one{1} by the Sunday day five{5} we had on face towels, 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels. Jokingly I asked my wife wonder how many towels will be left tomorrow. Monday came and we left the hotel room around 8:30AM and placed the clean room now sign on the door. we came back around 11 AM was working down the other side of the hall way hour and half later checked again maid was on our side of our room and was passed our room still it was cleaned by 2 pm enough was enough I had to call down to house keeping to get the room cleaned as the maid was no longer on the floor.. enough is enough.. the last straw came the Day we were getting ready to leave. The final scam. The day before we had used our coupon book and got the t-shirt, key chain, and gift{hat} using our casino points, The day we were leaving was day 8 and it was clear that you are only intitled to one book ever 7 days so out check out day was 8th day so we got new book and told wife lets spend more popints and get more shirts ect, so we lined up and low and be hold sorry you ccant do that its not seven days since you last bought..?? NO WHERE on that coupon does it say you are only allowed one T-shirt every seven days I pointed this out and all staff at the promotions desks said too bad thats the rules we go by see the manager but did even as much as said hang on I fetch the manager or go kiss it.. Well I think you can guess by now I will never return to this hotel and in fact I will be writing their General Manager and C.E.O. over the next few days <mhjb -at- sympatico.ca> - Niagara Falls ON Canada - Added 11/14/02 - [65.92.71***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/02 - Undecided i made my reservations in april 2002. when i arrived.....they could not find my booking & blamed expedia. the reason i booked L/L is they had coffee pots in the room (i don't drink or smoke), & i upgraded to a mini suite... upon arriving at my room,, i found no coffee pot. they said OSHA disallowed them... OK !!! but upgrade your website, or let me know, they did neither. sunday night i decided to soak in the jacuzzi ( a whirlpool tub) i filled the tub, followed the instructions, ALAS !!!! no whirlpool !!!! they asked ... did i call maint.? i said yes.... i slid over to allow the tech. to fix the tub !!!!!(what a moron !!!) thus i never tried the tub again..... upon check out i told the gal about the tub, the coffeepot, the lost registration. she said i'll remove one night from your upgrade.... ,after being angered by all the confusion of this trip, & having to explain it all again, i was really frustrated, & had to argue w/ the gal at checkout to get the upgrade removed from my bill, but eventually i did...... having said that i will say the people who work there are very friendly (except the heavy guy at the front desk) the service was great, & they smiled always.... nice folks !!!!. as for the casino.... very clean, & well lit... not dingy like most other downtown casinos, & i won $2,000.00 playing slots ! to sum it all up, when staying downtown (i don't like to stay on fremont st ... too noisy) stay at mainstreet station. eat on freemont st, & gamble at Lady Luck..... enjoy your vacation .... i hope this helps <aandwflagpole -at- yahoo.com> - Cherry Hill NJ USA - Added 10/12/02 - [208.59.24***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/02 - Good Visit I booked this hotel before reading the comments on this site and to be honest I was a little scared about staying here. Some of the comments on this site were negative and I was waiting to have a bad experience when I arrived. When I arrived I had a totally different experience. It was The service was great, the room was more than decent, and the parking was free. I think the Lady Luck is a great value. For the small amount of money I paid per night, I don't think a hotel can get any better. It is close to downtown yet far enough if you do not like noise. Next time I visit Las Vegas, Lady Luck will be my first choice. <mandy1219 -at- msn.com> - El Paso TX USA - Added 11/01/02 - [66.230.40.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 09/02 - Good Visit #1BOOKING & LOCATION; This was our first visit to Las Vegas and had a wonderful time. We booked the flight and hotel via Expedia website. We were hesitant because Lady Luck only had a 2 star rating(after being there it should have many more), but glad we did. We wanted to stay downtown and once we visited some of the places on the strip, we knew we made the right choice, the strip is too busy and big for us. Once we figured out the shuttles and bus schedules we could go anywhere for little or no cost. The city bus terminal was a block away from the Lady Luck and the shuttles were within a block or two. #2 ROOM; Online we booked a Garden room, but when we checked in we decided for a few dollars more we'd stay in a Tower room, because it was more accessible. We were disappointed that they had to take out the coffeemakers, but we managed. The housekeeping staff was excellent and speedy when we requested anything. Our maid that cleaned our room was A1 and told us when we come back to make sure we stayed on her floor! #3 FOOD; We ate most of our meals at the 3rd Street, the food and service were excellent! We ate 1 breakfast at the cafe for their buffet(our last morning there, we were up in time for breakfast) and the variety, service and meal were all excellent. We didn't go to the Burgundy room(like a supper club), we're not much for the steaks, seafood, etc. they offered. #4 CASINO; After visiting some of the other Casino's...downtown, the strip, and off the strip we realized the best one was at Lady Luck. There was more variety, more room to move around, cleaner than the others and altho we didn't win a fortune, the payouts were better at the Lady Luck. #5 RECOMMENDATION; We would recommend this place especially to all who, like us, are on a retired or limited budget, and not interested in walking a long ways, like you have to in the bigger casinos/hotels on the strip. There was a lot of things we didn't get done, in our 5 days(actually 3 full days), no shows, no dam tour, but we had a wonderful time and did see alot, and we wanted to leave some things for next time we go. And yes, we definitely will stay at the LADY LUCK!!! We parked in the Casino parking structure across the street and was told by the attendant that our parking would be validated provided we remained in the Casino and played for 3 hrs. Upon completion of approximately 4 and 1/2 hours in the Casino we desided to leave. Upon presenting my parking ticket to the cashier I was told that I would have to have it validated by one of the (Orang shirted) change personnel. When I presented my parking ticket to the change person I was told that I was not eligable for validation because she had not seen me in the Casino therefore I would have to pay $9.00 for parking. I presented other persons of my party who verfied that we had indeed been in the Casino all the time. Needless to say this went on deft ears and the change person became very arrogant and showed me a peace of paper which she said the instrucrions for parking were clearly printed, however she would not give me a copy. I paid the Parking fee of $9.00, but I assure you that we will never visit the Lucky Lady again and you can also be assured you I will pass this rip-off along to all my friends and associates and will never again spend a dime in the Luck-Lady Hotel or Casino. R. Short Altadena, California PS. it is not the $9.00, but the principal. If in order to have your parking validated a change person must verify that you gambled in the Casino, patrons should be told to check in with a change person upon entering the Casino by the Parking attendant.. <rosey0335 -at- aol.com> - Altadena CA USA - Added 08/05/02 - [205.188.208.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/02 - Good Visit We just came back from a 4 day stay at the Lady. We used the valet parking and later I noticed a sign on the counter with the business about getting a parking ticket validated every 3 hours so was glad we were using the valets. Sounds like it's a real nightmare to get the ticket validated. I was amazed how quick the valets got our car every time, the longest wait was just a couple of minutes. We had stayed at the Flamingo on the strip in July and decided to try a downtown hotel for August as we found an internet rate of $25/night at Lady Luck. We were put in the South Tower and thought the room was just every bit as nice as at the Flamingo, and with a super full flow showerhead. We didn't eat thereas had lots of coupons for food elsewhere. We played the casino a bit but we move around a lot. The casino was ok, too smoky for me, but the cocktail waitresses were right there all the time. I thought the service by all was good. We saw an afternoon show that was fine, just the price of a drink. They have just one main cashier where all transactions are done. <maplebc -at- telus.net> - Merritt BC Canada - Added 08/18/02 - [207.6.150.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/02 I've been staying here off and on over 15 times. I had deposited $100 and had to have the hotel validate a form to get my money back. We were asigned room 735 in the West tower. Actually it wasn't a bad room. Good size, mini fridge, king bed, and decent sized bathroom. The view was of a building across the street. Thank goodness for curtains. The one thing that quickly caught our attention was the fact the cheap alarm clock was bolted to the entertainment center but there was no safe. If they don't trust people with a cheap alarm clock, I don't trust with my stuff in their room. Essentially, this room wasn't any better than the room at the Days Inn we spent the previous night in Omaha, NE. Except that the Days Inn didn't bolt down the alarm clock. The casino is decent enough and we've gambled there a few times. I didn't have any trouble locating full pay Jacks or Better machines like I did a couple of years ago. I'm not sure if I was just blind or if they had removed them, then brought them back. I thought the old way they had of delivering comp drinks before was better than now. The waitress used to have her own cart and mixed your drink right when you ordered it. Those days are gone and they must now go and retrieve your drink. <dougp26364 -at- cs.com> - Wichta KS USA - Added 08/07/02 - [198.81.17.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/02 - Good Visit We liked the rooms in the towers, there big and comfortable. I visited this page just in curiosity before going to Las Vegas this time around, I have stayed at Lady Luck about 12 times in the past and almost fell out of my chair after reading these negative comments about this hotel. I am wondering did these people with these poor comments maybe have to much to drink and would not know good service if it hit them in the face in the way of a 100 dollar bill. With the numerous times I have stayed at the lady Luck I have never been disappointed, the service is a 10 on the scale no doubt, I had not even finished half of a drink when another drink was offered to me and this was playing slots and table games at a minimal betting rate. the rooms have been totally refurbished and are even nicer than in the past visits, everything I needed and more in ammenities was in the room. The buffet food was not bad it is like any other buffet in town cooked to serve thousands of people, now how fancy and tasteful can that be anyway we are not talking about serving bananas foster here. I won more money at that casino than I came to Las Vegas with, and certainly more than any other casino downtown or on the strip. the host and hostess were very friendly they cannot do enough for you, and the comps at the Lady Luck beat any in town I can guarantee that we only paid for 2 out of 7 nights at our stay at Lady Luck, try doing this minimal betting at the Bellagio! Most casino play will not even be rated on the strip unless you play $25 a hand. I would recommend this hotel to anyone if they are looking for great value, warm and friendly service, great comps, a great value fun book probably the best you will find in las vegas, and a nice and fun place to gamble. Never will you have to ask for anything on most days it is always offered before asking, and to me that is great service with a smile. For those that were into the hats and keychains etc. I also did not see those this time around but I did recieve free of charge a Lady luck wind breaker, sweat shirt for only $1.00 with coupon out of the fun book, and a nice pair of sun glasses. So the free stuff is still there it has just gotten better, and just remember tipping goes along way with people. So at this I will encourage everyone to give the Grand Lady Luck a try I am positive you will not be disappointed. <adrenalin -at- bcni.net> - Beeville TX USA - Added 07/06/02 - [65.68.251***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/02 - Undecided Stayed 1 night at the Lady Luck because of a very very cheap rate. I didn't want to spend a great deal of cash for the first night of my trip when my flight didn't even arrive until 10:30 pm. By the time I'd gotten my bag and rental car and got downtown, it was midnight. Self park lot was easy to navigate, and I actually saw a uniformed patrol which made me feel somewhat safer. This was my first time staying downtown and I'd heard conflicting views, so I didn't know what to expect. Had prepaid for a garden room, but took some advice and told the clerk at check-in that it was my first time there. Whether that made a difference, or all of the garden rooms were taken because it was so late I'll never know, but I was given a room in the west tower. After a long walk (including going across the street in an overhead indoor walkway) I was quite impressed. The room was large, had the all of the amenities that you would expect from a basic hotel, plus a small fridge. It was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a HIGH FLOW shower head! (My landlord switched mine to low flow, so it was a thrill.) The water pressure and temperature were perfect, and I had a great shower. Then I went down to the casino and got soaked. So obviously my view of the place is going to be a little clouded, but for a cheap place to stay, this place delivered. A minor annoyance: When I was losing bad at blackjack, I asked the pit boss to arrange for a late checkout, which he did. But when I got back to my room to get my bag, my key had been de-activated. So I had to walk all the way to the front desk, where the late checkout had been noted on my file, but there was no way to enter it in the computer without charging me for another night. So they had to issue me a new key just so I could retrieve my bag. <badfreeper -at- hotmail.com> - Toronto Canada - Added 07/07/02 - [209.197.171***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/02 - Undecided Stayed June 30 to July 4 2002. TV is small, bed is fine, had a couch, some chairs and a coffe table. Bathroom is nothing great. Had some water jets in the shower/tub combo. I guess that was the jacuzzi, and I never used it. Room was a little old looking but not bad. Decent view of downtown but not of the Fremont Street Experience. Casino is small. Found some full pay VP. Slots were decent. The fun book was worthless to me. The buffet was horrible for breakfast and I never ate there again. Had the buffet at Main Street Station and enjoyed it.
