Check in took just over an hour. The last thing you need after all day of planes and airports. Room was big, but ceiling had huge water marks from leaking as well as drapes. Very dated looking for a newer property. Casino layout is Very confusing! We ate at the cafe, and had good service, and food was good.We also ate at the steakhouse, which was a perfect 10! I will not stay here again, but will eat at the steakhouse!Location is very good as well.

Although we stayed in the opposite corner from our inclinator, my husband and I enjoyed our jacuzzi suite, though we thought the suite was a little on the small side. This is a fun place if you like the Egyptian theme and the novelty of staying in a pyramid. If you're not fond of seeing kids in casinos, this place probably isn't for you, though I did see some security people ask some families to move along, including a woman who thought she could park a stroller next to the slot machine. What part of "21 and older" confuses people? Do they think the sign means "21 months and older"?

The buffet was good. The coffee shop was good. The Tut's tomb replica was neat in a somewhat cheesy kind of way. Like I said, it's a fun place. I probably would stay there again.

This was the second time I've stayed at the Luxor, and I specifically requested a pyramid room. However, on check-in I was informed that there were only Tower rooms left, but that we could have "a nice one"(!). My initial disappointment soon subsided when entering our room - beautifully decorated, clean, spacious and with a bath and shower cubicle which could hold a wild party. I shall, in future, request a tower room. (This was on the 14th floor overlooking the strip/McCarran Airport.)

Check-in took almost an hour due to long queues, but all staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Quick check-out via TV is helpful and works well.

Have dined at the Sacred Sea Room and Luxor Steakhouse - both excellent and reccommendable.

I've no specific comments about the casino - I gamble very little and accept that whatever money I put into a machine will ultimately remain inside it! Whether the slots are loose or tight, I don't know. I just know that I'm skint.

Would happily stay at Luxor again. If not, I don't know where I'd choose.

Thanks Luxor.

What can I say, this is the second visit to Las Vegas, and the second visit to the Luxor. Great check in staff, most helpful, hotel is fabulous, Pools are warm and clean, Jacuzzi was lovely. Spa well worth a visit, room service very efficient, only grumble $40 for a 5 minute phone call back to the UK, when I can call Vegas from the UK for 2p (1c) a minute !!!!!! Otherwise a great visit :)

We visited the Luxor for 3 nights 11/03. What is with the Luxors Hotel rating below the "super 8" motel????? That is a joke! I don't know what everyone else was complaining about, but this Hotel was first class all the way. We had to wait approx. 5 minutes to check in (2pm). The desk clerk asked if we would rather stay on the 22nd floor instead of the 5th(the view was better she said. When we found out that our room wasn't quite ready yet, they comp'd us 2 free drinks in Nefertitis lounge nearby. Once inside the room, it was awesome. We splurged for the Jacuzzi suite (in the Pyramid)and the room was very nice. 2 seperate rooms, 1 a living room, and 1 a bedroom with the jacuzzi right in the window with a view of the strip and excalibur next door. The king size bed was very comfortable. We also decided to see the Blue Man Group this time, and upon having a little trouble getting our tickets to print out, the manager on duty (Marty) moved us to the 6th row front and center, instead of being near the back of the theater. Although we didn't gamble alot there, when we did there was always a waitress around to give us a free drink. We never experienced a single bad customer service instance. I would definetly stay there again next trip to vegas. I was very pleased with the whole experience! Way to go Luxor!!

We stayed at the Luxor in a suite on our wedding night. Everything about the hotel was great. The staff were really good and made sure we got a good room with an early check in. The SPA was brilliant, I got lots of treatments and it was good value. The meal at the Sacred Sea while pricey was really nice and we couldn't really fault it. I would definitely stay here again.

me and my boyfriend enjoyed the stay at the luxor. We originally had a Jacuzzi room for one night and they upgraded us for no extra charge for the rest of our stay. The room was awesome, I especially loved the view from the tub. You sat in the tub looking right out a window.

Overall, the Luxor was a great stay and the location on the south end of the strip was still close to many attractions. However, check-in was totally a pain in the butt with poor customer service, extra long lines, lack of staff to check in the hordes of tourist anxiously waiting for someone to start the check in process. Coming from Eastern time zone, the wait to check in was horrible.

In my visit of October 17-19, 2003, the hotel's pool hours were 9AM to 5PM. No swimming allowed after those hours. This struck me as silly.
Morning room service was punctual. On-line hotel reservations were easy.
My Tower room did not have an exhaust fan in the bathroom, and neither did the rooms of my friends. The buffet one floor below the casino is excellent, with an outstanding salad bar. My appetite wasn't lessened even though I arrived for a table 15 seconds after a boy threw up in front of the buffet's cash register.

My wife and I stayed at the Luxor 25-30 oct 03. Check in was quick and easy, lasting about 5 minutes, which after 24 hrs spent traveling from England was great. We were both happy with the room which was clean and had a lovely view of the Excalibur. The bathroom was nice, and the shower space was great. We ate at La Salsa a couple of times and the food was wonderful, although the yard of margerita was a bit much even for us! We used the Luxor buffet twice and found the service quick, friendly and the food was great. We are now both on diets!! Our only negative comment is that perhaps there should have been coffee making in the room, but we realise they don't want people to stay in their rooms! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay a the Luxor and wouldn't hesitate in going back there.

I have been coming to Vegas for about 10 years and every trip I intend to stay at the Luxor. This trip I again intended to stay there, but was comped at the Aladin with a group of friends. I enjoy playing poker and I have always enjoyed the poker room at the Luxor. The dealers and staff are a great group of people. The drink service is second to none in the poker room. I found the crowd to be relaxed and mainly tourist. I attribute the crowd at the Hold Em table to the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel. The dealers were helpful and forgiving to the new players. I have played at other casinos (The Flamingo) where the dealers are rude to the new players and they often leave the table which means they leave before the rest of us have a shot at their money. Overall the hotel property is very nice and clean with a decent crowd of people. The $2-$4 Hold Em at the Luxor is a great place to learn the game and have a good time. My only complaint is that the comps are not very good. I will however stay at the Luxor on my next trip.

Overall, a thumbs up.

Good - Room was pretty spacious (4th floor, pyramid). Bathroom was good size, no tub which is fine by me. Luxor Steakhouse is awesome, give it a try. Bill was $350+ for 4 people. Be prepared to pay, but it's good. Dealers here are nice. I always have good luck in this casino and this past trip was more of the same. Pool is large and busy, but overall was nice also. Luxor Cafe is good but kind of expensive (what isn't). Was comped two rooms and dinner at the steakhouse.

Bad - Check in was a pain. Asked for a room NOT overlooking the HVAC vents. Was told that we had the Excalibur view. Went to the room...voila - view of the HVAC vents. No biggie since I didn't spend hardly any time there, but still.....Sports book here stinks. Go to the Mirage or Mandalay Bay. Casino is a little difficult to navigate.

Good trip overall, like the hotel. Would stay here again if the price was right.

My fiance and I only spent one night at the Luxor, after spending four at the Bellagio. I'm not sure if I was spoiled by the Bellagio or not, but I didn't find the Luxor to be anything spectacular. The desk clerks were wonderful, and the room service was excellent, but the rooms were tiny, and comparable to that of a Holiday Inn. Overall I give it about a 6.5 on a scale of 1-10.

Worst casino in LV. I had a jammed machine and they left me sitting there for over two hours on a Friday night before an attendant came over. And they knew I was waiting the whole time. I told everyone who walked by, every single employee, and no one lifted a finger. I will never play or stay at the Luxor again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Luxor. Our room was in the East Tower on the 10th floor with a view of the Excalibur Hotel. Room had bath and separate shower and was spacious and very clean. A pleasant room. The carpets/curtains were in good condition. Maid service was daily - the king size bed and pillows were to die for!!! Soooooo comfortable!! We did occasionally hear some noise from our neighbours next door but it was not too much of a problem.

Customer service: We found the staff to be friendly, professional and informative and they always had time for a chat.

We ate in the Pyramid Cafe several times (mainly for breakfast) and thought the food was good quality and service was good. There was a good choice of food but I couldn't manage the quantity of food (seems to me there is a lot of wastage). Why don't they serve baked beans as us Brits love them on toast?!!

We found the casino hard to navigate at first and very confusing - just kept walking around and around and wasn't getting anywhere. Perhaps that is the idea then you have to spend your dollars in the casino!!

It is dark - but then you are staying in a Pyramid WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?!!

The pool area is nice but in the hot desert sun more shade would have been welcome. There are no umbrellas so best to get up early and race to get a sunbed near a shady spot (and there are not many of those)!.

All in all we thought the Luxor was good value, service and nice rooms. Yes we would recommend it although when we go back to Vegas again we are thinking of staying at the Mandalay Bay.

We visited the Luxor in August of 2003, staying in a jacuzzi suite on the 23rd floor of the pyramid. I thought the room was very well-furnished ,spacious and clean. The casino was great, (I came home with about 200$ more than I left with) although it is hard to get good comps because of the amount of points you need to accumulate. The only restaurant we ate in was the buffet. It was good though certainly not the best on the strip, but far from the worst---a little pricey for what you get. The only complaint I have is check-in. Never mind having had to wait in line almost an hour, but we had to change our room and get back in line for an hour and a half. They need to do something about thier whole check-in system. Other than that we had a great stay(our fourth here) for a good value. We will continue to stay here on future trips to Vegas.

I have stayed at Luxor twice in the last year, and would tend to agree with alot of the comments about the Hotel. In both visits I stayed on the 21st and 23rd floor, in a pyramid room. One had a view of the Excalibur, the other a view of the airport. The walk was from the inclinator to the room was ok...the room facing the airport was longer. Both were ok. Clean, Quiet, the views were ok, the cleaning staff was friendly, and responded to writen notes for extra towels. The room only had a shower, but I was informed on check-in about that. The check-in was long(45 mins)...and I was there early. The front desk staff was excellent both times. About the casino...avoid it at all costs. It has a strange lay out..and things always seem to be hidden. And it just doesn't pay..if slots are your game...head next door to the Excalibur...much beter pay-offs. And comps are hard to get here, also...just a warning...my mother stayed here on a mailing promotion from The One Club, claiming to be totally free, but when she checked out it didn't cost her any money, but they took One Club Money from her account....so watch out for that!! I ate at the buffet...good for breakfast, but for larger meals, I felt the selection could of been beter...but for around 13bucks it wasn't bad. Over all...this is not a bad place...average...and if you can get it comped..or for under 79 bucks per nite then go for it...just don't expect to get the royal treatment.

We arrived to a warm room. Called the front desk, and they said our room was warm because it was a hot day. They already had 90 complaints that day. They offered to move us but no guaranty of a cooler room. The Lamp socket was broken, they pushed it up to fix. The electrical plate was off, we needed to call to fix. And the lock to our door broke on the last day. Don't stay there! Don't stay there! Don't stay there!

My wife and I had to stay an extra night in Vegas ( darn ), and decided to
stay at the Luxor for the first time. We arrived at about 330pm on a sunday, and were surprised to find hundreds of people waiting to check in. even with almost all of the check-in windows open, we still had a 45 minute wait.( Tip...
check in later in the evening...there was NO ONE there checking-in then)
Our room in the pyramid was tastefully decorated with an egyptian motif,
and had plenty of room to move about. You should be aware that the pyramid rooms have no bath-tub, only a shower. We did not try the buffet, but ate at
La Salsa mexican restaurant, and enjoyed the burritos. If you are into blackjack, they have good conditions at the tables. The pool is a good size with plenty of chairs. The parking area is a good walk from the check-in area, and the casino is a bit confusing to navigate around in. We would probably stay there again, as a first choice for our stay.

I read all the comments before staying at the Luxor. I almost changed to another hotel after reading some of the negative comments. I'm glad I didn't. It is a very cool hotel. Keep in mind people tend to complain more than they praise. That's why I made the effort to write this review. If you like the Egyptian Theme, you will definately enjoy your stay at Luxor.

The Negatives:
- Location - At the end of the strip. You pretty much need to drive or take a cab everywhere you want to go. So it costs a little more for us to stay there.

-Check In - Everyone said the checkin time was long and they were right. We were there around 1pm - checkin took us 70 minutes waiting in line. Hint: Get there at 12:30 or 12:45pm and plant yourself in front of the check in desk. Let you spouse or family go exploring -but keep somebody waiting at the desk. They may tell you to come back at 1:30pm. So we left and came back at 1:30 and WOW - the line was enormous.

The "Nite Life": This is a pretty boring hotel after 11pm. So if you are looking
for the party atmosphere, head over to New York New York or Harras.

Those are the only negative things about this hotel that I found. And to be honest, I noticed long lines at many of the other hotel lobbies we visited so - take that for what it's worth.

The Positives:

Cool Hotel - we have stayed at a lot of hotels across the country (we are well traveled). This was one of the neatest we have seen. Lots to Do and explore. Awesome atmosphere.

Restaurants - Good selection of food. They even have a McDonalds that's open around 22 hours a day.

We also ate at the buffet. Some reviews said the food was stale. Well, We thought the food was excellent.
They also have a mexican restuarant on the Second Level called "La Salsa"
We were just trying to grab a quick bite to eat and were not expecting much. This food was "Heaven on a Plate." Excellent.

The customer Service: Never had customer service this good at a hotel. Seriously. From the Front Desk
to the Cleaning Staff this hotel is Top Notch in customer service. For example: We always slept in because we stay out really late. So we put the "Do Not Disturb" on the door and the cleaning staff would skip us. We would leave for an hour or two to go to the pool or to get something to eat and come back and the room was already clean. Every time.

The room was great. We had a jacuzi suite. Very nice. (the air was NOT stale as someone else commented in a previous review)

I would definately recommend this hotel to my friends and family and we would
stay there again. We are going to try The Mirage next trip. Just because of the atmosphere. There are so many places to try in vegas that we want to experience
them all.

Bottom Line: If you have booked this hotel or you want to - Do Not Hesitate. You'll enjoy your stay. We sure did!

Oh, one other thing.. the review before this said the slots did not pay. We found this to be the best playing slots (with the exception of Harras)

By the way - I know it's not related but: Avoid Wet and Wild in Las Vegas At All Cost! Long lines, hot pavement, expensive and Nothing Special. The wave pool was the lamest wave pool I have ever seen in my life - completely disappointing. And I am a huge wave pool fan. Spend your time and money in Vegas doing vegas stuff. Plenty of other opportunities for waterparks.

First of all let me say that this review is coming from someone who lives in Las Vegas. I decided to surprise my husband with a night away from home for our 5th wedding anniversary. I had bought tickets to David Copperfield (he's great) at the MGM so wanted a hotel which was close in proximity. MGM was sold out, Excalibur was too kid friendly for this occassion, Mandalay Bay said they had no spa suites and NY NY was sold out, so the Luxor won. I don't think I'd book this suite again if I had the chance to do it all over again. First the length of time to check in was quite long. Even with all of the check-in windows open it took a good 45 minutes or so. I had booked a Spa Suite and was really looking forward to it. We found the "inclinator" and let me tell you, if that isnt a strange feeling. Going sideways in an elevator. What a concept! Arrived on the 24th floor feeling a bit dizzy from the weird ride. Also everytime we got in the "inclinator" it was filthy. Trash usually laying all over the floor. We got to our room at the end of the hallway, opened the door and it was not nearly as spectacular as I had hoped. Even though it was supposed to be a 2 room suite, it was more like 1 1/2 rooms. The hot tub was clover shaped, not super roomy but all right just the same. The biggest drawback here was that the tub was surrounded by tile and it made for some slippery footing. Almost slipped a couple of times, they should rethink that a little. The bed was ok. Typical hotel room bed. The living room was like an afterthought. More like a big closet wanting to be a living room when it grew up. There was the most uncomfortable couch in the world, a small chair and a small table with 2 chairs all crammed into this little space. The angle of the walls just made the room feel like it was less spacious than it was I guess. I know I know, I was in a pyramid..what did I expect right? Maybe to feel a little less claustrophobic??? :-) The toiletries supplied in the bathroom was adequate but should have been more for a suite. I have to say that room service was awesome and the food although a bit pricey ($2.50 per person delivery charge?) was very good.
I also surprised my hubby with a swedish massage at the Oasis Spa. That is highly recommended. What a treat! I especially like the different showers with all the different scent choices. Only 1 thing I'd change about that is I would install private undressing areas. Some of us larger woman just don't like changing into nothing in front of ladies with 0 % body fat :-) Other than that the spa was spectacular. Clean and the staff was very nice. Over all, I don't think I'd book another room here, but would prefer to just stay at home. We did stay at the Monte Carlo the night after this one and I have writte my comments about that hotel as well. Also, the casino here is a bit confusing and they don't pay out very well at all. At least they didnt for me. We did sit at the Nile Bar for awhile to people watch as it's right next to one of the clubs there. That was the best time of the whole night. Drinks were great (especially when you don't normally drink) and the bartenders were friendly and extremely efficient considering it was a saturday night and they were jammed with people. So I guess the visit had its good points and bad points as all visits do, my choice would be to try somewhere else next time and not stay here again unless it were the only choice available. Comments here are strictly my own and I know that not everyone will agree with me and I'm perfectly fine with that! Have a wonderful Day!

We had a nice pyramid room with a view of the pool. Check in was a long wait... go early. They say check in starts at 3, but GO EARLY (or late!). Friendly staff. Room was spacious, tidy, and comfy. Lots to do in this hotel. The casino is large, but nice... a bit too confusing. Slots that we played were tight but fun. We stayed during the week and paid $64 a night and I thought it was well worth it. I only wish that the room had had a safe. Overall it was great fun, with lots to do.

Stayed in the Luxor for 5 nights just 10 days ago. We had a double room in the East Tower which was excellent considering what we paid. We left to go on to the Renaissance in Hollywood (which cost twice as much for only 4 days), but that was disappointing after the Luxor. I had my wife and 2 sons with me and everybody had a great time. The only problem we faced was that my 19 yr old son could not gamble or drink in Vegas, even though he can do both things quite legally in the UK (18 is the legal age here). However he got used to drinking Pepsi and getting moved on from the slots quite quickly. I think we'll have to come back when he's 21.

We really liked the impression of space within the pyramid, which never seemed crowded (even when it was). It really is something special in there. We spent most mornings by the pool (it was over 110 deg every day we were there) until we couldn't stand the heat anymore and then moved inside for lunch or drinks. We did start eating breakfast, lunch and dinner for the first day, but just couldn't manage the quantity of food after that. We cut things down to just 2 meals a day. We ate breakfast in Pharaohs Feast Buffet each day and found that excellent value for money. It's only $9.99 and there was a good choice of food. Some friends did try the Steakhouse for dinner and said it was excellent, but we just didn't get time to try it. Dinner was also very good ($16 something, I think), even though we did try the Bellagio buffet one night and that was something else for $24.99 (but a 25 min wait to get in).

As a fairly inexperienced gambler we went to the Craps lesson one morning, but ended up being more confused at the end (mainly due to the teacher). We stayed and played a while, but that game cost me money, so I didn't play again. Lost a couple of hundred dollars over the first 3 days on Crap dice and Roulette, but managed to get it all back and $200 profit on the Blackjack table later (that took me until 4.30 in the morning, my wife was not happy). All in all, the Luxor Casino experience was really good. It had a great atmosphere and I managed to get quite a few free drinks from the cocktail waitresses.

I would definitely recommend the Luxor to anybody looking for their first Vegas vacation. It's not too good for small kids (go to Circus Circus or Excalibur for them), but for older kids and couples it's fantastic. I will definitely go back in the future.

Just returned from an EXCELLENT stay at the Luxor. Great room in the pyramid (even though the tower rooms are supposed to be nicer and newer.) To a person every employee we ran into, from dealers to bartenders to coin attendants, was friendly and professional. The spa was fantastic, and the low stakes poker was great. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I stayed at the Luxor for 4 nights..the check in line was long and they don't have a queue so the line next to you always moves faster. We were upgraded to a suite for $50.00 more and it was well worth it even though it was in a tower and not in the pyramid that I wanted to stay in..oh well..The desk clerk was every helpful and luggage was brought promptly to our room. the room was large and clean and comfortable with a great view of the mountains. The pool area was great although a little more shade would be good there for us light skinned people but we rented a cabana with misting and that was awesome..the cabana attendents were great and were always around asking if we wanted anything..food drinks..etc.. the casino was very good although a bit hard to navigate but pit people and dealers were all great and friendly..a little disappointed the high stakes area was not open during the day so you had to sit and play BJ with people who don't have a clue how the game is played.. The Pyramid Cafe and Buffet were very good and servers were excellent.. the Steak house was excellent..great service..great food..great atmosphere.. My wife used the hair salon a few times to get her hair done and was very very happy.. my only complaint is that there were no safes in the rooms..Would definatly stay here again anytime.

I stayed at Luxor for five nights, Sunday to Thursday 1-6 June for $59 per night web special. I had a great side view of the Sphinx and the strip towards Mandalay Bay. I had a king non smoking room, room 11333. I was in the east tower which was really handy to Giza Galleria and the moving walkway to Excalibur. It only took me 5 minutes from my room via the moving walkway to get to Excalibur.

There was a separate bath and shower. The bathtub was really big and deep, perfect for a long soak. I got nice smelling bath soap, facial soap, a showercap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. I souvenired them all every day and always got them replaced.

The bed was firm but comfy and the pillow was comfy too. I couldn't hear much traffic from outside, only a few planes. I could hear next door's door slam and when they used the bathroom but I kept the aircon on low during the night and I couldn't hear much else. I only had one neighbour as I was next to the emergency exit and I rarely heard people in the hallway.

There was a big tv in the cupboard. There was a nice makeup mirror with a light attached to the bathroom mirror.

The casino was a bit confusing. One day it took me 30 minutes to find the escalators to the attractions level!

I had the chicken pizza at the Pyramid Cafe and it was delicious.

I visited King Tut's Museum and the Imax films and Search for the Obelisk Imax ride but it was very rough and jerky and hurt my back. Race For Atlantis at Caeser's Palace is much better.

I loved my stay at the Luxor and will definitely stay there again!

We had a good time at the Luxor. Next time I would request the tower near the pool and spa or stay in the pyramid. My wife had the ultimate pampering package at the spa and thought the name lived up to its billing. The sun reflects hard off the pyramid at the pool, don't forget your sunglasses. Not much energy at the pool was a small negative. Isis resturant and The Sacred Sea Room are closed on Wednesday & Thursday, bummer. The location is a little to far south for my liking, but I would stay here again if it were not in the summer. Good value, service & nice rooms.

Stayed in the Jacuzzi Suite which are on the corners of the pyramid. Very romantic. At first check in (2 a.m.) was told a jacuzzi suite was not available (although I only chose these dates because they said one WAS available.) I gave the check in lady a "gift" from Fannie Mae in Chicago and Whala! - we had a jacuzzi suite. Did not get the strip view. At first thought it was bad - but... the view of the mountains was gorgeous. We overlooked the pools. Had 3 fabulous views of the sunset from the jacuzzi - very very romantic.
WHAT WAS MISSING?
Because of the pyramid shape it was a long long haul from the elevator - um I mean inclinator to the room!
Wish we had an in room safe.
Also wished that the toilet paper was less than 3-1/2 feet from the toilet - quite a stretch!

My husband and I are Egyptian fans so we really enjoyed our stay here. There is so much to do in the casino, shopping center, museum, rides that we stayed almost a whole day just doing stuff in the casino itself. The rooms were nice, clean and fresh. We had a room in the pyramid, which was awesome. The pool area was nice. Check-in was fast, but check-out took long. This is definately a place to stay at again.

This is our second stay at the Luxor. The first time we loved it and would (and did) go back. I will not go back there again. It is okay. It is neat and a must see. The pool and the spa are nice. Check in is a pain. Our toliet backed up the first time we used it and then the repairman left a mess in our room. We spent the second half of the week at Bellagio (worth every penny and more). We have stayed at least 10 vegas hotels, Flamingo, Orleans, Stratosphere, and Bellagio are all better. MGM and Treasure Island are worse. Binions is great for the poker player. ExCaliber is the same, but cheaper. BELLAGIO, I would never stay anywhere else.

Our first visit to LV. Arrived at the Luxor at 11 a.m., our luggage was checked, so we had a lunch at the Deli. Quick service, good value. Checked for early registration at 12:30, asked for, and got a great room on the 18th floor or the west tower, overlooking the pool and mountains. Nice room size with 2 tables, and the bath had a large shower with a separate tub. The marble floor in the bath was quite dirty, otherwise a pleasant room.
We waited an hour for our turn at the tour reservation counter for a trip to the dam. They needed more help there.
Although our stay was without incident, we would probably stay elsewhere, simply because of the many choices available.

We stayed in a west tower room on the 15th floor, and compared to the pyramid room we had stayed in before, the west tower rooms seemed a little nicer. The check in clerk was very friendly and offered to change are room two seperate times. Check in was very fast and the room was quite spacious. The theming at this hotel is excellent but it seriously has one of the most confusing casinos on the strip. I don't gamble much except for quarter slots, but if I did, this would not be the place to do it; nobody seemed to be winning much of anything on the tables. The slots have decent payouts. Our waitress at the Pharoah's Feast Buffet was outstanding but the food was marginal, at best. This is definitely a family-friendly hotel; my kids really enjoyed the pool and arcade. My wife loved the 24 hour spa, but parking at this hotel can be a hassle. Also, do not get your car vallet parked here; the drivers dont seem to be too careful when parking your car.

My husband and I went for a three day visit and had a wonderful time. The Luxor is fascinating! Our room was in the pyramid - which I had heard wasn't as nice as the Tower. I don't know what the Tower rooms looked like but our room was spacious, clean and interesting. The huge shower was great. No bath but who cares. Lots of lotions, shampoos, etc - everyday they were replaced. Be sure to ask for a room close to the inclinator, if you don't, you'll be walking quite a bit to get to your room. We asked for that (because we've read previous comments) - but they had a convention going on and there weren't any available. The staff around the hotel were professional, courteous and friendly. The second floor was pretty much dedicated to kids so bring your family. We didn't see the pool. The tram from Mandalay Bay and Excalibur was so convenient and helped out our tired feet! I would definitely come back - it was well worth our money and what a great "mysterious" place to be.

Stayed at Luxor for first trip to Vegas and loved it. Had a Tower room on the 2nd floor which had a view of the front enterance region. Pool was nice, service was way above average. Price was good. Loved the Blue Man Group. Casino was a lot of fun, had a couple of grumpy BJ dealers, but most were pleasant. Had good luck on the slots too - hit for $250 a few times. All in all, I thouroughly enjoyed myself, and would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will be returning in June!

The fabulous LUXOR - I haven't stayed there since 2002. however I did visit with my lover in December 2003. It took approximatly 10 minutes for us to win $500 on wheel of fortune - with the ticket process in the machines - there was no need to wait for attendent. The casino is laid our nicely with a nice party atmosphere that you MUST expect from Las Vegas - will be visiting LUXOR in May..can't wait

This was our first trip to Las Vegas, so we had no idea where to stay. But I found this
websites comments, and comments from friends, helpful (our options were limited
because it was Valentines Day Weekend). We decided on the Luxor because it was on
the strip, they had availability and the price was okay. Check in was excellent, very
friendly front desk staff. Rooms were average. Definitely stay in the towers, we stayed
there at teh recommendation of the front desk clerk, and from others comments, made the
right decision. This hotel is at the end of the strip next to Mandalay Bay (with a lovely
view of the airport) - which in retrospect was kind of far. In the future I would stay in the
center more. I didn't see the rooms, but liked the location of Paris, the Bellagio (of
course, pricey), the Venetian, and Aladdins...all four of which also seemed to have nice
lobbies and facilities.

Back to the Luxor...shopping was boring, just kitschy 'Egpytian' trinket stores. Much
better in the four hotels I mention above. Saw blue Man Group - wasn't what I expected
but it was interesting, and loud...if you want to see this or other popular shows (esp
Cirque de Soliel) - make reservations early, on the weekends they are always sold out
(same with popular, trendy restuarants for dinner). If you like dancing and music, the
Luxor is right next to Mandalay Bay which seemed like a trendy place to go for 'young,
hip, fun' types of things. Traffic is bad, but if you rent a car you have mobility to get off the
strip and parking is free at most hotels. We don't gamble much, but I would save ALL
your gambling for old Las Vegas off the strip, that was the only place we won anything
more than 50 cents on the slot machines (we won about $40, but of course subsequently
lost it all!)

The food at the Luxor didn't look very good, and there were so many better options, we
didn't even eat there.

Despite all this, the room was clean (altho walls a bit thin when loud partiers came back
after 3 or 4 am), service friendly, price good, pool v. nice, and the Disney land-ish theme
of being in an egyptian pyramid was fun. I think this is a good 'average' hotel - and it
seemed very nice for families with children (we are in our late twenties, no children, so
that was more just annoying for us!)

Fun trip, get out and do as much as possible and it really doesn't matter too much where
you stay, didn't spend that much time in our rooms, anyhow...!

THE LUXOR WAS AN EXCELLENT HOTEL, ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE. WE STAYED IN THE PYRAMID ON THE 22ND FLOOR , EASY ACCESS BY LIFT AND THE ROOM WAS SPACEOUS , BATHROOM HAD A SHOWER BUT NO BATH. ROOM WAS CLEANED EVERY DAY AND STOCKED UP. VERY SECURITY CONCIOUS. FORGOT MY KEYCARD AND HAD TO SHOW ID WHILE SECURITY PHONED MY WIFE. ONLY GRIPE WE HAD WAS YOU COULD NOT GET A DRINK IN THE CASINO, I ASKED FOUR DIFFERENT WAITRESSES ONE NIGHT , HAD NO LUCK, SO TOOK MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. TO STAY IN IT WAS AT THE END OF THE STRIP BUT YOU COULD GET A BUS OUTSIDE FOR 2 DOLLARS TAKING YOU UP AND DOWN THE STRIP, OR AS WE PREFFERED A SHUTTLE FROM THE EXCALABUR NEXT DOOR WHICH WAS SAFER AT $1.65 WHICH WENT UP AND DOWN THE STRIP STOPPING AT ABOUT 14 DIFFERENT PLACES.

Don't bother upgrading to a jacuzzi suite, it is nice but not particulalrly

I have stayed at several different locations in the Vegas area and this was definitely one of the more unique. I was worried about the room considering we were choosing the pyramid. There are 30 floors total within the pyramid and we were on the 23rd. If you have a problem with heights or vertigo just be sure not to look over the side too much in the short stretch where the floor opens up to reveal the whole pyrimid. I don't see what was so hard about navagating the casino or the rooms. It's so open that you can't mistake where you are. You only have one inclinator to your room because every inclinator only goes to so many floors. We never had to walk near the casino to get to our room or the inclinator. They have designated walkways for that so you don't have to travel all over. They were super friendly and very supportive. As far as the rooms, we were facing Mandalay Bay and it was a lovely view. The window side of your room slants inward but the rest of the room is flat like any other. I didn't like that there are no tub/shower combos but the shower and vanity area are very roomie. There was enough room for 2 or 3 people in the shower. Jacuzzi suites are strictly on the corners of the pyrimid so you could have a good walk to your room if your inclinator is not on the corner of the pyrimid near your room. Someone mentioned about them being stingy on the comps...This is true. We only got $10 in comps but we dropped a fortune. How friendly are they? The woman who informed us of what our comps were, told us it has to do with how long you stay at one table or machine. It has nothing to do with how much you spend unless you drop hundreds or thousands per hand. So the longer you stick to one thing without leaving...the more comps you receive. I had a wonderful time looking at all the artwork and statues...and since I like Excalibur and NewYork NewYork we had a complete ball being so close to them. The walking didn't bother me because I expected to do plenty of that. We only had the buffet once while we were there and we chose lunch time. Bad idea. The food was lousy and very cheaply set, but again they were super nice. I can't comment on breakfast or dinner. However Bellagio lunch buffet was so unreal we kept pinching ourselves to make sure we were awake. It was worth EVERY penny and I would eat there exclusively. Where else are you going to get venecin, buffalo, chicken, turkey, beef, and every seafood imaginable for less than $20 AND all you can eat? So I'd have to say my stay at Luxor was wonderful and worth it. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

We were given a cheap upgrade to a room with a jaquzzi also we joined their casino slot club and when we left we not only got free gifts but they knocked off over $100 worth of restaurant bills off the bill.
The food we had in the restaurants was great and the buffet was good value for money.
Overall great and would recommend this hotel to anyone

I get alot of good deals in the mail from the Luxor so I have stayed there several times. The rooms are nice, hotel & casino staff have always provided good service and I seem to do well in the casino. However, it does have some definite problems. Primarily their valet and taxi lines..they are horrible! I can't stand waiting in line for a taxi and paying $10 or more every time I want to go somewhere so I usually rent a car. I visit Vegas 3-4 times a year & stay at different hotels on the strip. I have never had the problems with valet parking anywhere that I have had with the Luxor. It takes way too long to get an attendant to take the car, too long to get the car and way too often they will tell you they are full....even for hotel guests! The taxi line always looks like it's a good 15-30 minute wait in line. I think it's because of their popular teenage club RA. The place always looks jam packed at night but the casino tables and machines aren't any busier than any other place. Anyway, they should have ironing boards in their room but overall if you get a good rate..$79 or less it's worth the stay. I wouldn't pay anymore to stay there.

The Luxor is a wonderful place to stay, located at the "quiet" end of the strip it is possible to get a little bit of peace and quiet away from the bustle. The free monorail to Excalibur and very the regular 301 bus makes the location a non-issue. We didn't have a car and so long as you don't mind a bit of walking (a great way to make sure you see as much of the other hotels as possible) you can navigate up and down the strip relatively quickly. The attractions are pretty good, with some nice places to eat, it was definitely one of the easier hotels to find your way around. The inclinators are a peculiar experience, the rooms are clean and simply furnished, the beds are quite firm but after a day on the strip and a night on the tables youdon't really care! Housekeeping is polite and discreet, even our erratic comings and goings didn't catch them out. I would definitely make a bee-line to stay here again next time we're in Vegas

A great place to stay. Now all the Mandalay properties share one rating card, so you can gamble at Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Monte Carlo and Circus Circus and build comps. I like the rooms, just be sure to verify which buidling your room is in! The rooms in the pyramid are cool. I've stayed in the tower also, which I'll never do again. The "inclinator" is alot of fun. Hee, hee. The casino is confussing. I got lost every five minutes. Every direction of the casio is built the same, so it's easy to get disoriented. I won a few bucks here, nothing to get excited about. For the most part, the machines were tight. I ate at the buffet, not too bad. I'm not big on buffets, but this is one of the better ones.

DO NOT EAT AT THE BOARDWALK BUFFET! YOU MIGHT DIE!

I like this place also cause it has an IMAX theater.

Stayed at the Luxor for the ambience. Check-in was a nightmare! The long line never moved. The front desk was greedy with hotel maps, they hid them. Air-conditioning was weak. Shopping arcade was great. It was like staying at a museum. Pyramid Cafe food was very good and priced reasonably. They had the best gift shops and the architecture is mind-boggling.We were disappointed with the room; it had only basic furnishings, nothing like the elegant lobby. The room and bathroom were very small. There was no tub and I can't take showers. We got a view overlooking the pool and garage, although I asked for a Strip view. A/C was very weak, we had to call room service and he couldn't repair it. Inclinators and lobbies are fun and exciting. Front desk ignores you. I had to try to get the attention of several workers; they were either busy talking on the phone, using computers or talking amongst myself. I felt invisible! You can get lost in the casino and they did away with those great slot tokens with images of ancient Egypt. Their "Gold Chamber" Slot Club was taken over by I believe Mandalay,Inc. My second visit was not as good! The laser show in front was ended and the monorail passing by the entrance ruins the ambience as well as your photos. They should have put the monorail behind the hotel. My sister waited over 1 hour for the slot attendant, as she won many quarters but there were no coin cups on the table. I heard that now, slots use paper and no coins; so we won't be using slots anymore!

My stay at the Luxor was "ok", but I won't stay here again. The check-in clerk was very short with us and acted like we were somewhat of an inconvenience. Futhermore, I had made a reservation for a smoking room and was given a non-smoking room. The room itself was beautifully decorated in an egyptian theme, but the lighting in the bathroom is too dim (couldn't see properly to put on make-up) and the lights blinked everytime I turned on the hair dryer. The casino is a huge maze and finding the proper set of elevators to get to our room a chore, so we spent very little time at this casino the day we stayed.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Luxor in September. The room was a nice size and clean. The room was a bit warm when we checked in and the hotel was very quick to respond. Room service was excellent and the quality of food and service in the hotel were all pleasing. Rooms were very quiet. I never heard any neighbors or hotel staff, a major plus. The casino was nice, but we enjoyed playing at the Excalibur next door. A more fun atmosphere and more helpful for beginners. The tram connecting the Luxor with the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay was a treat. Nice job on their part as we spent most of our time at those three hotels. Luxor has the best show in Vegas, Blue Man Group. Loud, creative, fun original and eclectic. I'm bored with Cirque D' Blah Blah. "O" is short for overrated. Save the money and go see BMG instead. If it's too loud, you're too old.

I have visited Vegas many times, and for the money, the Luxor is tops hands down. A beautiful hotel with elegant spacious rooms. Courteous employees and a large casino. Though its on the south end of the strip there are monorails, cabs, and buses that will allow you easy touring from the Luxor.

The hotel was very nice. I liked my room, the heavy curtains (that sun gets bright when you want to sleep late), and the fast food court with McDonald's. I felt the hotel was a good bargain. However, it was far from the the main strip and I found myself taking taxi's some times. The walk to Bellagio was about 2-2.5 miles. In the sun, trekking back seemed a bit too much. Two days of my stay, I had very little hot water (more luke warm), but then, I am a late riser (about 10am).

The rooms were nice. The rooms were quiet except for the toilet. We had a nice view of Excalibur.

The location is good. They have two ways to get to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur: Tram or air-conditioned walkway.

My only complaint is that you have to walk forever to get anywhere is this hotel. . It was a long walk from our room to the inclinator. Also, just like most Vegas hotels, you have to walk through the casino to get anywhere. They need to put an extra staircase to the second floor on the Strip side of the hotel.

I went to Las Vegas to see the Cher Show and Stayed at The Luxor. I have
stayed there before but in the Pyramid, this time I stayed in the east tower
and the rooms a very nice. Clean and well kept. The maid service was
outstanding, just leave a couple of bucks inter an ashtray for the maid and
they will do more for you than youd expect. The Bathroom sint as nice as
the Aladdins, but they have a regular tub with a seperate shower. Very nice
marble by the way. I will stay there again when i go visit.

After staying here all I can honestly say is what a disappointment!! We decided to try this place mainly for the pyramid rooms but it is not worth the
money unless you get it for a cheap rate. The rooms are small way too small!!
The furniture looked cheap and the view was average at best. The pool was the nicest thing about the place and thank goodness we had Mandalay Bay to spend time at. This place isn't close to what hoped it would be. The people who work there are not friendly (nobody ever asked us if we would like a drink after 2 hours of playing the $5.00 slot machines.) Beware find someplace else!!!

Room was very nice, however, we were on the 5th floor apparently directly above the "RA" nightclub...it only was an issue one evening when we actually got in before 2:00am...Casino was very good to us, however, the comps were not. Blue Man Group was cool to see, pool area was way too overcrowded, as to be expected in 120 degree heat...buffet was allright, nothing spectacular though...Only complaint I have is the location which seemed like along walk away from everything being at the extreme far end of the strip...would not return only because there are equivalent hotels closer up the strip

Chose the Luxor for our first visit to LV. Loved the hotel and the casino...had a nice room at a nice value with a less than spectacular view of the Interstate. The casino is my favorite part of the Luxor...plenty of table games and slots. Casino seems to skew to a younger demo than others which my wife and I liked (we are in our late twenties) Pool is good. Overall this is an excellent hotel for the price. We have since stayed at several other hotels on the strip and the Luxor remains the best value.

Stayed at the Luxor for four nights while on our Honeymoon. We stayed three nights on the 21st floor in a great room with a wonderful view of the airport. The last night we stayed in a jacuzzi suite. It was a $50 increase but, well worth it. The jacuzzi was right next to the window and had a great view of Las Vegas. The check-in was great and the in-room check-out service was quick and easy. (Why do people stand in the check-out line?) The Luxor is in a great location and you can always find it. The only part about the Luxor that we don't like is the casino. I rate it about a 5/6. It just doesn't have the atmosphere like New York New York, Mirage, Treasure Island or even MGM. However, this is a great hotel and is in a wonderful location. We would stay again for sure. (However, the next time we go, we will be staying at the Monte-Carlo.)

We had a very nice stay at the Luxor. We had a pyramid room on the 15th floor with a view of the pool and mountains. The room was very clean which is a big plus in my book. The casino was a maze but we eventually figured it out after a day or so. Excellent value for the amount of $$ we paid to stay there. We paid about $69.99 per night there. Friendly staff and good house keeping service. My only complaint was the comps. I had about 4 hours of play rated as a $50 per bet player and I couldn't even get a meal comped. I was disappointed with that so I limited my play at this hotel.

Where to begin, last year planning a trip to Vegas, and said what would be a cool place to stay. While watching the discovery channel I saw a show about the various mega resorts in Vegas. One of which was the Luxor, I said that is it. We stayed for 5 Days and 4 Nights. The room was quiet and comfortable, the food was outstanding Highly recommend the Pyramid Cafe and Hamada. DO NOT GO TO THE BUFFET, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO THE BELLAGIO BUFFET. Pool was fabulous, and the location is great, And watching the spotlight come on was totally cool. Would I stay again, You bet!!!! I am heading there this summer with a group of eight friends.

The Luxor is pleasing to the eye, but the service was the downfall. I expected a normal amount of service, as I would at any other hotel across the Country. I did not have high expectations. I got food poisoning at one of the Luxor restaraunts during my stay, and could get no help from staff. The response from them was for me to go to the hospital. I couldn't even walk!! They left me high and dry with no compassion at all. I could expect better service from a Motel 8 in the middle of nowhere. Staff was rude, and would not address the issue even when I brought it up after I got well. I EVEN SENT IN A LETTER AFTER I GOT HOME TO THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT AND WAS NEVER EVEN RESPONDED TO! STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY, STAY AWAY. DISPICABLE PLACE TO STAY!!!!!

Excellent valet service (we tip well), easy access to tram. We lucked into a short registration line, not realizing there is also one on a lower floor facing Excalibur. I requested a room NOT on the Mandalay Bay side as my brother was on that side the week before and the noise from RA kept going until 2-3 a.m. Our king deluxe (no jaccuzi) room was on 11, over the pool. Nice tiled bathroom, my husband flipped over the huge shower. The room was a nice size, but the room was always hot, as was the entire hotel. And I am cold natured, and it was rough on me. It was a very long hike to our inclinator, especially with two sets of golf clubs. The buffet was reasonable, and maid service excellent. And a real ice bucket was provided. We did not gamble there, we could not deal with the smoke. Tut's Tomb was not worth the $5 each, but we enjoyed the IMAX ride. Pool was good, excellent drink service, but why can't one of the 5 pools be 21 and over??? It was a fun place to stay, but too hot.

We loved the Luxor. It was beautiful. Our room was in the East Tower on the 15th floor and it was great. The room is larger than most standard hotels, the bathroom is huge with a glass shower stall and seperate bathtub which is extra large and deep. It was pefect to sink into after a long day of walking and checking out all the other resorts and casinos! We definately want to go back to the Luxor.

Just for you first timers, everything is overpriced, from the $5 drinks if you are not gambling (then it's free) to the stomach turning buffet, which is $22. The luxor is for people who want to stay inside and gamble--they also have some nice shows and rides on the 2nd floor. Put it is an absolute pain in the ass to get to the strip. They herd you like cattle thru 3 casinos-- be ready to walk. Room service took over an hour to get to my room. The crowd is not very lively either-- The bars are not great, the sportsbook is among the ugliest I have every seen-- they don't even carry all the games. It is more relaxed, and I think caters to the older crowd. Thank you and God Bless

We stayed at the Luxor this June for 2 nights. Although we have stayed at the Luxor several times over the years, it is starting to show its age. The rooms are still comfortable, but could use some updating.
The casino, no luck there. Never really do have much luck.
Sad point, is the One Club Card. Once the merged the points together for all of the casino's I was missing over 3,000 points on my card!!!
The Luxor has been unable to figure out what happened to my points and the Monte Carlo was unable to help. Spoke to the VIP clerk several times during our weeks stay in Vegas, plus several e-mails to them. No resolution!
Beware if you were had credits on your card prior to the merge to the One Club card! You may find that your points were lost and can never be found!!

This was our third visit to the Luxor and our LAST! Each time, the check-in has been >45 minutes (because they use one line for each clerk instead of one long feeder line) and the front office staff has been extremely rude. The bellhop service takes up to 1.5 hours to get your bags and when we asked where we might change to use their pool since they didn't have our room ready at the normal check-in time, they said, "In that public bathroom over there." The pool is VERY boring for adults and kids. We love the slanted walls in the rooms and the kids love the slanted elevator, but not enough for us to ever go back.

my wife and I stayed at luxor on our honeymoon and had little to complain about. the room (tower- overlooking sphinx head w/ airport view) was art deco- pretty, good size, clean as a pin, comfortable. bed was large and comfortable. room was bright and cheerful- bathroom was wonderful! large, large glass shower and separate bathtub (deep), excellent water pressure (10th floor), as hot as desired. nice large wardrobe in room with drawers, lit up when opened (a nice touch)- no noise or distractions from hall or neighbors. very relaxing. Yes, the hotel is a huge maze- but we got our bearings quickly. Staff service was just fine, room always promptly cleaned and straightened each morning, desk help was polite and accomodating. We're not demanding people, just do it right the first time and forget the gushing happy stuff. Luxor staff delivered. Casino was large and bright- we didn't play or win much there, but drink service was adequate and personable. Pharoahs buffet was a great breakfast/brunch- just kinda pricey. Television reception on the 6 channels that were available came in fine. the other 20 channels were all commercials for Blue Man Group. We decided to not see Blue Man Group because of that minor irritation. The shops (all 5?) are pretty lame. Valet service and bellman were quick, friendly and obviously pros. we appreciated that. Nefertitis Lounge was horribly overpriced for drinks- but service was friendly and quick. Food court is like any mall's. No real complaints though. We'd stay there again.

We stayed at the Luxor on our very first trip to Vegas. I think it was a great
place to stay, especially for first time visitors. The look of the building is
spectacular, both inside and out. The inclinators are fun to ride on even
though you have to brace yourself so that you don't stumble. The check in
line was a little slow but bearable. We stayed in the pyramid so the
windows in the rooms were a bit small but the room itself was very nice.
The decorations are fun and there is adequete space for a wheelchair
even in the regular rooms. I loved the bathrooms too. They were not
really big but had great showers. The cleaning crew missed our room
one day but were sure to bring us up tons of shampoos and towels the
minute we called. The casino was pretty good too. I am a small time slot
machine gal and I won 25 dollars a few times. My brother however won
600 on a couple quarters. The tram to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur is a
definate plus as well. The Pharohs Feast buffet is good but nothing to
brag about. The IMAX movie was disapointing but the ride films were fun.
The pool was really great too, I loved the pyramids in the pools. Ra is
nothing to brag about. Too much techno music and way overcrowded.
Overall, I loved this hotel and would definately stay here again.

My wife and I have stayed at the Luxor twice. Both visit started off bad but got better as the trip progressed. My first vist we had a tower room which was not what we booked. We were facing the side of the hotel and our room was messy. We went downstairs to see if we could get another room, we were told we could or upgrade to a suite for 50 more a night. We took the suite and I can not tell you how much nicer those rooms are. The sitting room was great and the bedroom and bathroom were both huge. The room was perfect for a 3 night get away. My last trip to Vegas we stayed at the Luxor again. We went with another couple and booked a two bedroom suite. We were somewhat disappointed once we got to the room to find that really all it was, was the same suite we had with an open door connecting to another hotel room. The sitting area was nice and the master bedroom was great, but our friends were alittle upset with their room. The gaming at the Luxor is good. The machines run hot and cold, but a fair mix. The table games are good and I have always done well at their craps tables. So all in all, I would say the Luxor is a pretty soild choice.

It gives you all the things one might look for when selecting a hotel room in Vegas. Very clean rooms with a Great housekeeping staff! Very efficient in restocking and responding to requests. There was a lot to do in the "attractions level" that didn't completely break the bank. If we didn't want to try a variety of hotels on the strip we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Luxor-round 2. Stayed Memorial day weekend, last minute. Best rate in town that weekend for a (decent) strip property, $129.00 for a Sunday stay.

Cathy and I stayed at the Luxor eariler this year in a jacuzzi suite, this time we were in just a plain ole room in the pyramid. I've yet to have a problem getting to my rooms in Vegas, and this and the MGM are the two everyone complains about!

Yes it is dark, and not so well lighted, but comfortable. The spa is O.K., if you really want a treat go next door to Mandalay Bay's spa (you don't have to be a guest, $5.00 extra) and relax.

I like the Luxor for it's rates and hotel-average accomadations. The pool is spacious and nice, and service is better than average. If you are thinking of staying off-strip to save money, check Luxor's rates on the internet for comparison. We stayed at the Embassy Suites near the airport last year for the same price, @ Embassy we got breakfast with no casino (not even a slot machine) which was refreshing for a change. But, if you want a strip/casino property, but don't want a high price, check out Luxor and take a chance!!!

I thought Luxor was a beautiful hotel. The lobby/atrium is spectacular and I liked all the Egyptian accents. Check in was slow, but the room was beautiful - nice view, clean and very quiet. The buffet was good, but the service was somewhat poor. The pool was nothing special - more trees would make it much better. The only wierd thing about the pool was all the male prostitutes hanging around - a convention, maybe? I guess the only thing I was disappointed me was the casino - absolutely no action whatsoever. The slots were tight but the cocktail waitresses kept the booze flowing, probably to help you forget about all the cash you were parting with. All in all, a good experience.

This was our Honeymoon destination. The "Luxor"...check in on Monday afternoon was no problem. I agree with others, the floor layout (on the casino level) took 7-8 days to master; of course management does this on purpose, scattering slot machines every which way. Trying to find my room was difficult even after several days. The signs wern't clear enough. Floor staff once was impleasant, testing our slot machine while I was still playing it..He told us, he was testing the meter on the machine...lol...so rude, while I was playing, and I was the guest??????????????????? Variety of nickel & penny slot machines was terrific..much better than Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. The ventilation system was excellent also on the casino floor level. At least you can breath fresh air while playing the slots (even with smokers around). We both liked the idea of getting a "free pull" every day...we won 2 hats and a Luxor stuffed animal. The breakfast at "Pyramaid CAfe" was wonderful.
Things we liked/enjoyed about Luxor: The updated 3D Movies...very impressed. The Midnight Fantasy/ The King Tut's Museum. The tram was convienent to Mandalay BAy & Excalibur, along with the moving walkways.

Things we didnt' like: Being charged every time we used our hotel room phone of a $1.00 per call..didnt matter if it was a 800# or not. We were not happy of this matter.
Caution: Picking up packages at the Business Center , also incures a $5.00 handling charge..NOT right Luxor!!???
Also, if we used the bottled water in our hotel room (which they say was for our convenience) we would be charged $4. per bottle.what a rip off!!!!
Bring your own shampoo...there's was subpar. My wife certainly agree's with me on that one.
The pool was only 3 1/2 feet deep., What, are we all being treated like little children. To rent a blue raft, $20.00??? $10. of it was for a deposit?? If you dont' bring it back before they close, u dont' get your money back.

Pool hours should stay open past 7pm..come on guys????????? give us more pool time..Dont'worry, we'll play your slot machines.

Just bring lots of money...every meal is about $10. per person no matter where u end up going.

Overall we had a pretty good experience. I like to nitpick...but we really did have a nice time.

The hotel was really nice. Our room was in the pyramid and was your average hotel room. It was a bit disappointing to see the back of fake buildings and all the dirt and garbage behind them. The casino was great. Not too loud but not deserted either. The staff was really nice but sometimes it was hard to find one when you needed one. The pool was cool but only open until 7pm and they would start cleaning up, moving chairs and sweeping early, so you felt you were in the way.
The food was great. Breakfast and lunch at the Pyramid Cafe was delicious and the buffet was incredible.
The walkway to Mandalay Bay needs help though. Did they run out of moving walkaway? And the tram was inconvenient to Mandalay also. The Imax and other attractions were very good, except the 3D Haunted House. What a horrible story and way too loud!!!!!
In the end, it was a really great stay in a very comfortable hotel.

I spent Memorial Day Weekend at the Luxor with my GF. Checked in with no issues(except the "stern-faced" staff)We had a very nice, clean tower room (bit of a walk, but worth it).

Casino was very spacious and full of friendly, fun dealers(I won 800 bucks off the blackjack tables while she took home two grand from the slots).

Also, we caught Blue Man there and had a great time...One word of warning: If you go to BMG, wear casual clothes. My GF was part of the show and got her skirt dirty(women, go figure).

The buffet was about on par with other mandalay resort properties. They had plenty of veggie selections (GF and I are veg). If your looking for extravagance,go to the bellagio.

All in all, we had a great time. The (hotel) staff could use some training in being customer friendly. We'll be back in oct. 2002

I can't fault the architecture or the art direction. However, the service was very hit and miss. Some staff were awesome, some were awful. Just returned Apr 25th. Stayed in Tower - room was beautiful - we have been to Vegas approx 10 times over the years (but the most recent, prior to this trip, was 8 years ago). So we spent a fair bit of time exploring the new (as well as some old favourites) casinos. It was always a wonderful relief to come back to the Luxor - compared to other casinos, while lots of people were around, it seemed relaxing - colour scheme/theme decor is beautiful - the breakfast buffet was great - dinner buffet was so-so. Had good luck at the tables (Blackjack) & they even have 5 cent slots!! We will definitely plan to book at the Luxor for our next trip. Note - it wasn't till our last day (goofs that we are!) that we found out about the monorail which runs from the MGM Grand to Bally's - this is a BIG HELP to reduce walking if it is hot out!!

The pool area was pretty, but crowded....many of us enjoying the weather here, as opposed to our weather at home no doubt ! Although we didn't have any big "wins" did enjoy the hotel. As usual, can't wait for the next Vegas visit !

Stayed for the first time at the Luxor in April. Great room, loved the layout of the hotel, as well as the atmosphere. Roomy casino, didn't feel closed in or crowded. Won over $400 at the slots. The slot attendants were very slow, and always very grim and unsmiling. Checking in was a pain; we had to wait around until noon after an 11:30 arrival, although the checkin people were standing behind the counter doing nothing the entire time. Then stood in line for about 30 minutes. For the most part we found the staff to be helpful, but not usually friendly; I'd refer to it as businesslike. We liked the location, it was easy to get to MGM, NYNY, and the Trop. Maid service was fair; they were always prompt, but the floor went unswept for almost our entire stay of 5 nights. Food at the Pyramid Cafe was average, as was lunch at the buffet. The dinner buffet was much better. But then we weren't expecting gourmet food at a buffet, and it was good enough for the price. La Salsa was a good place to eat. King Tut's Tomb was a waste of time. We rarely had to wait on an elevator. While there were some things that weren't ideal, we can't say we ever had a negative experience, and most of it was positive. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here after we were married at the Tropicana Hotel and loved the experience! We booked a regular room but once they saw us in our wedding attire, they immediately upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite....it was fabulous! Plus, they dropped off beautiful plush robes for both of us that first night....very classy! Love this hotel! The Knottenbelt's

Started off with bad impression when I had to wait in line 50 mins. to check-in. Room was just an average hotel room you would expect in any city in the US. When walking to the room looking down on casino could see trash, wet floor signs, old food above casino floor on top of ceiling. Casino was ok, but overall I was dissapointed with my visit. Plan on going back to Vegas in June, and will be looking elsewhere.

This was our first visit to the Luxor and it was turned out to be an odd mixture of good and bad. The hotel is terrific however some odd touches showed up that made me wonder. For example: there were holes in several towels and when I went to take a shower, the handle came off in my hand. Our son and daughter-in-law's adjacent room had a clogged drain and while they did come to fix it, the repair people left the bathroom a filthy shambles and it took several calls to get someone to do something about it. We will probably go back since I like the convenience of the location and the casino but they need to tighten up their oversight since I didn't go on vacation to fix bathroom fixtures (I could have stayed home and done that)

Well overall the Stay was a great experience. But it was Pricey for Spring Break. I stayed for 1 day and It was a womping 149.99 Whew..Thats alot. As for the food it was "OK". The Service was good Except the Valet took 20 min, THe Bell man was Great He was very friendly and always asked how we were, check in was a breeze because A Check-In Station Just opened, as for the Other People I felt sorry I took the FOREVER. The Blue Man Group was To Expensive 125.00 A Ticket. The Casino was "OK" I wont like 50.00. If you want to Win $$$ Go to Circus Circus and Play at the Turning Platform it is in the Middle of the Front part of the Casino.

My husband and I did enjoy our stay at Luxor. However, after a more recent stay at Flamingo, we don't feel the Luxor experience is worth the location. We like to walk rather than take a taxi and found that after a day of exploring, it was much too far a return trip! And then when we did get back, navigating the casino almost wears you out! The casino was fine but I enjoyed friendlier and more comfortable gambling elsewhere. The player's club is ok,you can earn points at several other locations. We ended up having a portion of our charges comped upon checkout, which was a nice surprise. The best part for me was the pool. It is beautiful and, in March, not yet crowded. I spent one entire morning relaxing there. We would return to the Luxor but only if it was an incredible deal. For us, the location is the deal breaker.

This is the 2nd time my partner and I have stayed at the luxor and both times have had the most fabulous time. The people are lovely, whether at checkin,in the restaurants or in the casino. The rooms are excellent (so much better than the monte carlo). The spa is beautiful and the pool is spacious and sunny what more could someone from the cold climate of Britain want. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY. see you next year luxor.

We got a great deal at $59/night - $69/wkend night. It took a couple days to remember where the one inclinator that went to our room was located, but we found some other interesting areas of the hotel during our searches! It's definitely easy to get lost in this place (but then again, what do you expect? It's huge!) We knew before booking there were no tubs in the pyramid rooms, so that wasn't an issue for us. Our room was clean, housekeeping always left plenty of towels, and we had an overall good experience at the Luxor.

Just got back from 5 days & nights at the Luxor. The hotel was excellant, great service and for only $59 a night. Waited about 15 minutes to check in and was upgraded to a tower room. Second day room service forgot to do the room. I called housekeeping and within 15 mins the room was done. This is one of many nice hotels, location may be it's only drawback. I would definetly stay at the Luxor again.

The good stuff: I stayed at the Jacuzzi room and it was fantastic. It was spotless, from the bathroom and jacuzzi to the bed and carpet. And you definitly want very very clean jacuzzi. The windows are HUGE with a great view. The little deli down stairs has everything you need and stays open very late, the prices are quite affordable. Love all the small egyptian decorations through the whole casino/hotel. Really had a great time.
The Bad. The check-in took very long time..we arrived at 11 pm and figured we get in very quick, but we stood there for a while.
The hotel location could be better. But both these complaints are minor in my overall experience.
Overall: Although I spent alot of $$$ for the room, I had the best time and will definitly come back.

2nd time here at Luxor, and as usuall, had a great time. Loved the cafe. EXCELLENT Service and good food. The tower rooms are nicer, but if you really want to "do" Las Vegas, then get a pryamid room. It adds to the whole Vegas Mystique! Warning, the higher your room is in the pryamid, the more you walk. Floors 14 and below have 2 elevators, floors 16-22 have one and floors 23-? have 1. The Inclinators are fun. Makes you feel drunk when your not. And when you are drunk, look out!

I can't say enough about the Luxor. We stayed here 2 years ago for our wedding and were upgraded to a suite. We just returned from our second trip for our 2nd wedding anniversary and stayed in a deluxe room in one of the towers but we were just as pleased with everything. The rooms are very nice with GREAT bathtubs. We are always treated very well here. On this trip we spent the first 3 night s at Luxor then we moved over to the Aladdin-which was a total mistake. We went from one extreme of being trewated so well at the Luxor to being treated very poorly at the Aladdin. We will learn from this mistake and ALWAYS stay at the Luxor!!!! It also has one of the best buffets in town!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Luxor Las Vegas this past weekend. Our pyramid room was tastefully decorated and well appointed as well as being comfortably sized for two people. We would have liked to have had a small mini-bar or refridgerator in the bedroom...it's nice to be able to keep beverages cool or to have additional beverage/snack options in the room. The bathrooms could have also been a little brighter (maybe a double sink too?) but the slight darkness might have been a deliberate way to continue the Egyptian theme of the hotel. We're not big gamblers so it's hard to judge the casino but it seemed pretty well designed and easy enough to get around. The Nefertiti Lounge was a nice place to have a drink late at night (we also enjoyed a particular act that featured a boy-band type singer, complete with a '70s tribute band, belting out "Play that Funky Music White Boy"...I'm afraid we enjoyed this for all of the wrong reasons but it was good fun regardless). The service was fine and we felt comfortable with all of the security around. I think most people either love or hate this kitschy Vegas tribute to Ancient Egypt...we loved it since we appreciate our Vegas glitz over the top without any faux "luxury resort" trappings (i.e. - The Bellagio). This is a really fun, cool place to stay with nice rooms, decent service, good entertainment and all of the necessary basic amenities. If you feel the need to delude yourself with the fantasy that serenity can be found in a city filled with the ringing of slot machine bells, the Luxor is not for you. If you're looking for "New Vegas" style fun, I couldn't recommend better. In addition, the Egpyt pavilion upstairs is pretty fun...wish we had avoided "Midnight Fantasy," though...it's billed as a "sophisticated" topless adult revue. But it's complete with raunchy jokes and silly tributes to Sammy Davis Jr. (among others). Furthermore, there's something slightly troubling about the topless dancers strutting around to "Who Let the Dogs Out?" It wasn't erotic, it wasn't good and our personal "Midnight Fantasy" is a massive reworking of this show. Another suggestion for Luxor is to keep a better watch on their Men's Spa (although it was nice that they gave us a free visit for what is usually a $20 excursion) - There was a lot of "cruising" and it is obviously being used by some to arrange sexual pick-ups and as a sort of gay bath house (we could hear loud moaning at 4am coming out a massage room). We're an alternative couple ourselves but it was rather offensive at a family-friendly resort and to guests like ourselves who just wanted to sit in the whirpool and have a drink. But overall, Luxor was really superb and is highly recommended.

i went a few months before i turned 21, but since ive been to that hotel many times, i consider myself a pseudo-expert. The rooms are unique, dark, and quiet. Perfect for sleeping. The arcade is great for the kids, but the casino is overly themed with a lack of winnings. The themse along the perimeter are great, the service is not bad, and the price is good. The location is perfect for those who want to stay on one side of the strip and enjoy a show or sporting event at the MGM, Excalibur, etc...However, it is a bit far from the middle and the cheap (and free)drinks hidden in the small casinos past the Venitian

We had a great time at the Luxor. Our room was in the pyramid, and we had a great view of the airport, not really too much of the strip, but it was still a good view. Room was good sized, although temp was hard to control due to the dark glass that faces the sun all day long. The room got very hot!! The atmosphere of the hotel was unique and fun. The cafe was terrific and the buffet was not bad either. Friendly staff.

Though the pyramid rooms are a neat concept, you may consider staying in the towers. The pyramid inclinators run from each corner of the base to only a specific subset of floors above. You may need to walk 2 sides of the base to get to your particular inclinator, only to walk an additional 2 sides of your level to get to your room. Towers are NOT any further from the casino floor, and are closer to the spa and pool area. Blue Man Group is definitely a show to see, and the Luxor Steakhouse has yet to be surpassed by any other Vegas steakhouse, and yes, we have tried many. IMax rides made me a little ill, but my wife loved them. Monorail gives easy access to Excalibur & Mandalay Bay.

Check-in couldn't be slower! Room was nice though a bit sterile. Tower room a long walk from anything. The layout of the property odd at best. Put your hiking shoes on if you want to use the pool, it's a long way from the rooms and you have to pass through the casino in your speedo. The hallway to our room seemed like a service entrance. Actually getting to anything in or around this casino requires a good hike. The service was slow and we really got the feeling we were in their way. Blue man is worth every penny to see! I highly recommend it. The casino is the tightest ever (not one real winner in 3 days of video poker or slot play). Stay away from the coffee shop, bad food and slow service. The buffet was good.... fresh food, clean, and the service was very attentive. Wife enjoyed the spa, but again didn't appreciate the hike to and from our room. I know it sounds like we hated this resort, but we had a good visit and the price was okay. It just didn't meet our expectations as a first rate resort either quality wise or service wise and the layout is really poor. Alot of kids seemed to enjoy it and it would probably work well for a family visit. It seemed more like a visit to Disneyland then a visit to Vegas. Use caution.

My sister and I dumped the kids and hubbies at home and took off for a few days of rest and relaxation. We weren't disappointed Although the location is at the end of the strip, it was worth the journey. The trams between all of the hotels will keep you from getting blisters. The rooms are soooooo clean and nice. We were in a tower and everything was just right. Follow your little map for the first day or you'll get lost but that's the same in all Vegas Mega Hotels. And when lost, the staff are excellent about getting you back to where you belong without making you feel stupid. The buffet is scrumptious. The Egyptian theme is nice and the different entertainment ammenities were great. If you ask for a coupon book when you arrive, you'll save lots and even get some stuff free. You have to ASK though. They certainly don't offer it. Luxor usually offers great rates and don't be fooled. Great rates does not mean lousy service or rooms. We'd go there again in a heartbeat.

Very long check-in on Tuesday afternoon and the desk clerk was not very friendly or accommodating to our room requests, ended up in the east tower on the second floor overlooking the driveway. Rooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable. Wish they had an easy chair in the rooms instead of the straight back chairs. Casino is somewhat confusing in its layout and the blackjack rules stink. (Dealer doesn't have to hit on a soft 17) Don't play blackjack at any of the large strip hotels, go downtown, off strip or extreme north strip (Sahara or Strat). Pool area is beautiful and water temp was actually quite nice. The food court, arcade, motion sensor rides, and Imax Theatre were great. All added up to a nice vacation experience. We will definitely stay at the Luxor again.

Incredible hotel, the only knock on the entire place is the location, your looking at shelling out $20 a day in cab rides minimum but the rooms are outstanding (what a shower) service is great and the pool is right up there with the Flamingo or Mandalay Bay. If your not looking for the action (or you dont mind the cab fare) than there is no better spot on the strip

A couple of buddies and I visited in June of 2001. As we live in Phoenix, we opted to drive instead of fly as to leave our departure options open.

We absolutely loved the Luxor. Our only complaint is the distance from the self-parking lot to the registration desk, then back to Inclinator 2. But we didn't want to valet as our car was rather messy from the long drive. Our own fault.

The room was great, and they had delivered an extra rollaway bed within five minutes of our arrival. We stayed in the pyramid--room was large, and the bathroom was great compared to other places we've been (There was no tub, but since we left the womenfolk at home, this was not an issue).

The casino was really nice, and it was good to see a lot of $5 tables on a Friday. I played craps mostly during the day while my buddies hit the blackjack tables. The dice dealers were excellent and quite helpful. The blackjack dealers are generally a lot of fun (Especially Luis), but for some reason, the pit bosses like to bring in the non-speaking Orientals whenever we got up more than a hundred bucks or so.

I'd heard that some folks were saying it was tough to get a drink in the Luxor casino. Not true, my friends. Lay a few bets on the table and tip at least a buck each time, and you shall get smashed in no time. But then again, I had quite a few chips working on the craps table for each roll, so maybe the cocktail waitresses preferred serving drinks to our merry band more than the blue haired cheapskates in the keno lounge or on the nickel slots... just a theory...

We ate at both the buffet and the Pyramid Cafe. Buffet was good, but not quite as good a value as at their sister property, Mandalay Bay. The food at the Pyramid Cafe was decent, but the service was wonderful. We had a great waitress doing all she could to help us nurse our hangovers.

I've been to Luxor a couple of times now, and I think they've got the best value on the Strip for a themed hotel. One of my favorite places to stay in Vegas.

This hotel is very nice and a great value for the money. We enjoyed our stay here very much, but the location on the strip is not very good. This is not a big deal if you have a rental car. The pool is truly beautiful and I must say they kept the area a lot cleaner than Bellagio's. Their's looked like a warzone after 3:00. You will do a lot of walking to get to the room and the floor plan takes a few days to master. All-in-all not a bad place to stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Luxor during a convention of over 100,000 attendants, we had no problem upgrading to a suite at a reasonable rate. But since there was so many things to see, do and play at the Luxor we wern't in the room very much to enjoy the suite. The Luxor has a great Spa that the wife enjoyed while I was at the convention during the day, hey it's cheaper than leaving her in the casino all day! The Casino has a good selection of games and denominations; although the floor was busy in the evenings, we never felt crowded. The Buffet was excellent. Blue Man Group was well worth the price. The kids area above the Casino appeared to be well controlled and supervised. The south strip tram stops right out front, and overpass people movers allow you to easliy visit surrounding hotels/casinos. Very convientent to the Airport but a little far from the convention centers. We will return.

Having visited this hotel 3 times, over the years I must say it's been consitently good. The rooms are wonderfully comfortable, the hotel as a whole is fantastic and the staff have (in my opinion!) always been a credit to the place. Very reasonably priced, when you compare with others of a lesser quality that cost more. The public areas are always well maintained and although I'm a novice gambler, some very patient croupiers took the time to show me the ropes on the card games, and I came away a winner so they must have taught me well.
Oh I thoroughly recommend a facial or a massage in the Oasis spa, its fabulous!

She took great care of us, by giving us a jacuzzi suite at the regular room rate plus free breakfast buffet tickets. She calmed us down and our one night stay was wonderful. The slots didn't seem as tight as other strip casinos and the amount of things to do just within the Luxor was wonderful. I hope to come back and stay longer next time.

First room assigned was on floor 2 or 3 of the pyramid. Must have been a former smoking room converted to non-smoking. Bad smell and cigarette burns on the night stand. Shower stall had mold and the hinges were broken on the wardrobe. Moved the next night to a room on floor 22 which was in much better shape, but was 'blah'. In the move we left a shirt hanging in the wardrobe and within the hour it was snatched. Our fault, but the hotel was no help in trying to track it down.

We spent three days here in a Pyramid Room on the 17th Floor then went off the Grand Canyon, spent a further three nights in a Jacuzzi Suite at the Luxor. The suite was well worth the extra $50 we had two big TV's, a fridge, a lovely sitting room and a great jacuzzi that I spent hours in. Check-in was very fast, the buffet was ok and we had great fun in the amusements. The coffee is the best on the Strip!! The casino floor is massive and easy to get disorientated in but has a great selection of games and great slot club. The maids who cleaned the rooms were the best anywhere: they helped us with everything and gave us extra towels when asked and soaps ect. The spa was very good - clean, big with good treatments and friendly patrons and staff. There are really only two faults I can find with the Luxor. Its location is great because it's at the end of the strip so you get there from the airport very quickly and convenient to get the factory outlets and straight on to the I15, but for taking a stroll it's a little bit too far down the strip. The cocktail service when you are playing is not as quick as other strip casino, took us an age to get drunk. We stayed there Xmas '99, last year we stayed at the Aladdin which was actually better though the coffee not as good as the Luxor. This year however we will be spending our first night there for convenience then driving out to Palm Springs and back to stay at New York New York and Belagio. The most visually stimulating hotel we can think of outside and inside. The room was wonderful. The view was spectacular (facing the strip and the airport - beautiful sunrises). The service was not as good as other places we have stayed in LV but it wasn't bad. The pool was very VERY nice. The bank of cabbies on the north entrance made it so easy to come and go. The Casino sucked (not one free drink offered in 3 days of gambling) and is probably the main reason why we would never stay here again, plus it was a little pricey for the service. We could get better service for less money elsewhere. It was definately something to look at though. It was also a little hard to get the hang of where you go to find the "inclanator" that goes up to the pyramide rooms above the 3rd floor, and confusing how to get to the area where the fast food and rides and all that was and then to the casino.

Luxor consistently remains my favorite casino to stay and play at (although their sports book remains something to be desired). Reasonable rates and a great location. A lot of people don't like it because it's on the South end of the strip, but you're walking everywhere when you're in Vegas, so to me it's not that big of a deal.

Large rooms with great views. We stayed on the 12th floor which was serviced by inclinator 4 - which was convenient to the walkway to Excaliber and registration.

The walkway to MB shops are now open and look very nice. There's wine shop that I want to hit next time.

Have to talk about the great service that I received on my latest stay at the Luxor. I left a hardcover book in the room and didn't discover that I left it until I got home. One quick phone call to Lost and Found, a positive identification on the title and author got it sent to me via UPS at no charge. This was just one example of the consistently great service that I've received from the Luxor.

Just returned from a three night stay at the Luxor. Rooms were nice and I liked the large bathrooms. If your room wasn't next to an elevator you did alot of walking if you stayed in a pyramid room. Also looking down on the casino from high up we noticed alot of dirt and papers. Like the location being close to walking distance to other casinos(MGM, New York etc.) Was allowed early check-in a hour before they took people so I appreciated that. One down fall was eating in the Sacred Sea room...very pricey and the food was lousy. Other than that we would return

Our lives were physically threatened in the Luxor. Hotel staff and ownership did nothing; nor did someone even bother to phone us back in our room to see if we were OK. Left early because we did not feel safe. Sure enough days after we left we saw on the news that someone was shot there.

My favorite hotel on the strip...the rooms in the tower are wonderful..I like these better than inside the pyramid. The shops are GREAT! The decor is wonderful and after staying at the DUMP "Excalibur" it is a breath of fresh air. The lobby is amazing and the whole atmosphere transports you back in time to the ancient egyptians. The upper level with its rides is so much FUN! It made me feel like a kid again! It has everything you need for a wonderful stay! The Luxor steakhouse has incredible food..it is a bit pricey but well worth the money. We had a prime rib that was gigantic and the lobster was the best my husband ever had..and the service was excellant! It is a JOY to stay here A+++++++++++++ ( I would NOT stay at the EXCALIBUR..the casino and attractions might be fun but the rooms are dumpy...like a bad Motel 6.)

The regular rooms are excellent. I have stayed their three times in the last year and I don't think the rooms can be beaten for the price unless you stay off the strip and get a great value. This property is extremely family friendly. Check out the I-Max Theater. Got to see Attack of the Clones (Star Wars II) and it was great in that format. I want to see more adventure movies like Lord of the Rings in this format. Love their Midnight Fantasy Show. I probably dropped around $100 here in four days in the casino, which meant I won some days and lost some days. The activities level is good for a single like me because I can survive in the food court. And if you like electronic games, including pinball, they have two floors of those activities next to the IMax Theater. I'll be back unless I get a better rate from another hotel I trust.

Stayed at the luxor for 3 nights. When registering it was suggested we might like to upgrade to a jacuzzi suite for $50. per night. We did. Got to the room. It was filthy. Smelt of stale smoke and the carpet had big black stains on it. Got on the phone and said we don't want this room and was put in a normal room. This hotel is old looking dirty and not worth going back to. We stayed in the pyramid so I don't know about the towers. The inclinator ride is so dumb. It is no different than any elevator. You have no idea you are not on an ordinary elevator. Whole thing a rip off. It is too far down the end of the strip. Casino seems nice enough.

Did not stay here but spent a good deal of time here. Went to Blue Man Group and if you haven't gone you really should. It was great hearing good ol' rock and roll for a change at one of these stage shows. Luxor really impressed us with the service, cleanliness, and variety. Both the casino and the restaurants impressed us quite a lot. Will definitely stay here on our next trip.
