I have stayed at all of the major hotel/resorts on the strip (several times) and I must say that the Mirage is truly a paradise. It is warm, not over baring, very comfortable from the minute you enter the hotel, elegant and just a wonderful spot to relax and indulge yourself. The pool area is someplace go to and never leave during your entire stay if you wanted to.

I recieved a email offering a very good deal on a tower 1 bd suite, $229 per night, with limo service and 2 free tickets to the Secret Garden. Check in was smooth, made the appt for the limo to take us to the airport at 7:45 Friday morning. I guess they were out of the 1 bed suites, we got upgraded to a penthouse. WOW!!! It was fantastic, over 1100 sq ft, overlooking the volcano/strip. Bar area just off the front door, separate living/dining rm from the bedroom. Bathroom was very large. Boy did we lucky. Because it was our anniversary, the hotel sent flowers and a bottle of wine to our room. Nice touch. Room service was good. Got a players card and used it at the Mirage and MGM. Earned enough comps to get all of our food charges taken off. When checking out, we went to meet the limo to take us to the airport and they did not have our car. So I went back to the front desk. We were told they were sorry that it was their mistake, took an additional $80 off our bill and a limo was there in 15 min. Now that's service.
(Hint: Get a players card, use it at any of the MGM/Mirage properties. Charge things to your room. Before you check out call or go to the players club desk and ask about your comps. Go to their website and sign up for the email deals and or call the hotel directly to see what kind of deals you can get).

Just returned from our 4th visit to the Mirage and have to say that it is still hands down the best hotel in Vegas. Check in is always smooth, the casino has the best atmosphere on the strip and all of the restaraunts are the best. Huge servings in all of them except Renoir.

This was my first trip to Vegas. We booked a volcano view room @ $216. a night (a birthday present!) The 24th floor had a great view of the strip, The room was quite nice. No closet, but a large double wardrobe, s whirlpool tub and glass-in shower. A vanity with a magnifying mirror. Only grumble was no coffee maker in the room and no in room fridge for my leftovers, though it did have a mini bar.

The Spa was fantastic. While my guy gambled, I took advantage of massages and facials, a nice whirlpool, sauna and gym. Only grumble there was the $20. a day cost for the gym if you didn't a services scheduled that day. The staff was wonderful, serving banana smoothies, fruits and nuts and cranberry selzer.

The pool was quite nice, though crowded. Since my guy spent lots of time at the roulette table, our room rate was reduced to $99. a night and our meals there were comped. For the gamblers, the staff was mostly alot of fun, encouraging and joking with the players. And they kept our drinks coming...

Shortly after our homecoming, we received a personal note from one of the advisors my guy had talked to, thanking us for our visit and offering to help us plan our nest visit to Vegas.

I recommend this hotel highly to gamblers and their families, BTW...while not a BIG winner, we came home smiling.

I visited Las Vegas for the first time on Labor Day weekend. My stay at The Mirage was great! Although the computers were down for a few hours, the staff remained friendly, professional, and helpful. Nick (the manager).....after noting my displeasure at the wait, did everything he could to assist me in obtaining my room in a timely manner. The Wait Staff were courteous and the room service was prompt and plentiful. You MUST visit Kokomos. It was fabulous!!! Room Service and Kokomos seem pricey, BUT........you get tons of food, so share! P.S. I must also say that the mini-bar directions are easily understood by most people. It's difficult for me to grasp that some people go to all the trouble of finding out how to access the mini-bar (you must type in your own code to lock AND unlock the bar)yet swear that they didn't know they would be charged for pulling something out.

The Mirage was nice. The rooms were typical motel type rooms. Small and nothing fancy but clean and quiet. We had a view of the strip and the volcano which was nice. If we stay there again I may try for a view of the Dolphin Habitat.

The pool was great especially during the week when the crowds were less. Even when it was crowded on the weekend it was still fun. Most people just sit in the chairs by the pools so there is plenty of space in the pools to play in the waterfalls and slide on the slide. The 3 (or was it 4) hot tubs were pleasantly secluded and quiet. We found the kids pool to be the best spot to get chairs without being in a crowded spot. The worst part was that the pool closes at 7:00 pm. I guess they are trying to force you into the Casino.

The workout area was nice although a little pricey at $20 per person per day for something you get for free at a normal hotel.

The Dolphin habitat was fun although I didn't care for the Lions and Tigers part. Just a bunch of big cats laying around sleeping. Wait till later in the day (after 5:00 I think) when they close the Cat part and get in for half price to see the dolphins. They don't have "shows" but you are free to wander around as you please and the dolphins are usually doing tricks or playing games with each other.

We tried a little gambling there on the slot machines but didn't win anything. We did much better at Treasure Island next door.

I thought the Mirage had the most pleasant and friendly atmosphere of any of the Casinos.

Stayed Thurs-Sun (9/4-9/7)...Room with view over pool area was very clean and plenty big enough. Buffet was adequate, not overly impressive though. Casino was good to us, however, high-limit slots were unusually tight this trip. Good location on strip, close to evrything important. The only gripe I have about the Mirage and property is the pool area. Unless you wake up at 7:00am and hurry down to the pool area when they open gates and get a towel to claim your chair, you are out of luck. (1) person will check-out (4) towels and cover 4-5 lounge chairs and then go back upstairs and sleep (or whatever)like the rest of us normal people in vegas out late/nursing hangovers/etc, and return back to pool area around 12 noon or whatever while couples are walking around not able to find 2 chairs toghether. Why does Mirage allow this to happen?? If you go to breakfast and then to the pool around 10:00ish, you have to fight to maybe get a lounge chair within walking distance to the pool....Im not kidding!!! Mirage group, if you are reading this, take care of this problem, maybe by requiring a towel check-in system when leaving the pool area?? I dont know, Im not an expert, but the system you have sucks!! Figure something out...You guys do have a nice pool area though. Okay Im done now, we had fun otherwise.....

Overall Comment: A former luxury hotel whose time has clearly passed.

After 2 straight stays at the new and updated Mandalay Bay, I decided to try The Mirage since other friends were staying nearby at the Bellagio. I am sorry to say I found this to be a major mistake.

First, I will acknowledge that when Steve Wynn created this hotel in 1989, it was at the top of its game. Vegas was full of cheap buffets and low-end hotel rooms.

But today, with other mega-resorts filling up the strip, the small rooms and extra small bathrooms in the Mirage just don't pass muster for the price. Blackjack tables have shuffling machines that hurt the player's odds for a traditionally player-friendly game. Also, it is nearly impossible to find a $5.00 minimum table, even during off-hours (Amazingly, the Bellagio always had $5.00 tables available.)

While impressive, the hotel pool was mobbed with people. The only time I was able to use a chair was when I went downstairs at 7:00-7:30 AM. The crowd is 40+, meaning it was difficult to find others around my age (I am in low-30s). Service was good, and housekeeping was always willing to bring up additional supplies when asked.

All in all, this hotel uses its 2 main shows (Danny Gans and Siegfried and Roy) to draw people to its hotel. Unfortunately, the rooms and casino really don't pass muster. From a rather mixed reputation, I skipped the Mirage buffet - instead happily visiting the Paris and Bellagio Buffet (Note: The Mandalay Buffet was given very mixed results by my friends). The California Pizza Kitchen located in the Mirage Casino was tasty, but lets get real...there is a CPK located in most major cities, no reason to travel to vegas to eat here!

All in all, the small hotel rooms and even smaller bathrooms made me wish I had stayed in the Paris, Bellagio or Mandalay Bay. While nothing horrible occurred to me at the hotel, I kinda wished I had spent a little more (Bellagio or Mandalay) or the same (the newer Paris Hotel). If this isn't your first visit to Vegas, you will be unimpressed by the outdated Mirage.

After visiting Vegas many time on Business (Comparing to the Paris, Venetian, Mandaly Bay, MGM Grand, and Monte Carlo) My husband and I booked this vacation through a travel agent. I had my heart set on staying at the bellagio or the Venetian. My travel agent suggested that we stay at the Mirage, in a suite, for the same price. I AM SO GLAD I LISTENED TO HER!!!

After reading the prior rating I am wondering if he had the correct hotel.

The service from check in on was fantastic. The hotel desk staff was personable and very helpful. They knew my husband did not gamble and had books available to him of local attractions. Addtionally, the front desk clerk informed us about the $1.00 local/800 charge per phone call upon checking in, which I fouund to be extremely thoughtful.

Our rooms: Although a long hike to the hotel elevators and to our room at the end of the hall, Ouyr room was georgous. It was large, with a huge sitting dining area and a modest bedroom, there was a seprate shower tub and 2 sink vanity area, walk in closet and lavatory. I have stayed at some of the best hotels (the Phoenician, the Plaza, the breakers) I have never had a hotel room as nice as this) It was evident that this room was recently renovated.
The only complaint that I had was that there was a lack of drawer space.

THE CASINO: I found most of the dealers to be friendly, I played mostly table games. In my opinion there were a lack of tables for black jack and Carribean stud. The cocktail waitresses were readily available and, although my husband dis not gamble they offered him beveage as well.

THE POOL: The pool was beautiful, but crowded!!! We got up and waited for the pool to open on Sunday morning at 7:00 am then made a mad dash to seats that were in the shade and not packed in like sardines. The pool was packed at 8am. We were so glad we got the spot we did, not only did we not burn, we we not having people fall on top of us trying to get to their seats. Beverage service was great, within a minute of putting my falg up, they were there to take my order. Drinks were expensive ($12 for a large) but loaded with alcohol. One drink kept me happy all day.

Sigfried and Roy: We figured we have to see them because they "were" Las Vegas.
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! The magic is outdated, all but one of the tricks we knew how they were done. They use "plants" in the audience to assis them on stage. There act is old and so are they. They have had as many plastic surgeries as they have been performing (35 years). I you want to see really bad magic, save the $105+ per ticket and got to the Tropicana and see Rick Thomas for $17. instead

Having stayed primarily at Bally's and Paris for the past three years, we decided to venture out and try the Mirage. The public areas and location are among the best in Las Vegas, but the rooms don't quite measure up to some of he newer resorts.

While the Mirage advertised that their rooms were recently remodeled, "freshened" is more appropriate. Unfortunately, there is no mistaking that this hotel is now approaching 15 years old. The bathrooms are quite small by Vegas standards - especially comparing them to those at the Venetian or Bellagio. But, the views from our 24th floor room were worth the price. We could see from one end of the strip to the other. Don't bother with the more expensive volcano-view rooms, though - we were so high up the erupting volcano looked like a candle flame from our window.

We found the dealers in the casino to be much friendlier than those at Paris and Bally's. The casino stays quite busy, so there is a feeling of excitement that some of the much older resorts can't match. Most of the slot machines have converted to a coinless system, but this is increasingly common througout the city.

The high end restaurants, such as Renoir and Kokomos were quite nice, but the buffet and coffee shop were disappointing. You couldn't even order standard french toast for breakfast in the coffee shop - they only offered fatty cream cheese stuffed french toast - yuk! The buffet at Bellagio was a far better option, and guests at the Mirage may charge food from Bellagio, Treasure Island (and soon MGM and NYNY) to their Mirage accounts. This made casnio hopping very easy.

Overall, we loved the location and tropical theme, but the room fell a little short. If you care more about location, though, the Mirage is a great value among its more expensive neighbors.

My wife and I stayed at the Mirage last week and loved it. This was our 2nd stay at this resort and we can't say enough good things about it.
The outside of the Mirage is beautiful with all the palm trees, the lush vegetation, the waterfalls and so on. And the interior is so pretty with its tropical theme.
The lobby is impressive, the rooms are very nice, you have great restaurants, their pool is one of the best in Vegas, they have a large, fun casino, nice lounges, helpful employees, two popular shows and much more.
Yes,the Mirage is a classy resort. It's one of the best in Las Vegas.
Our stay was great. The check in was easy, our room was always clean, the casino staff were always helpful, the food was always very good in their restaurants and as you might guess, I would highly recommend the Mirage.

I really loved this place...this was the first my hubby and I had been away since our honeymoon 9 yrs ago and we really got a treat. Upon arriving, we were told that they upgraded our suite to a 1 bedroom penthouse suite..needless to say we were pleased...The room was beautiful and huge..almost too big for two people but we somehow managed to make due...housekeeping was always there to meet our needs with extra towels and toiletries and just about anything we needed. The casino was a bit of a chore to navigate...The selection of stores was minimal..certainly nothing compared to the forum shops or the shops at the bellagio and the desert passage...the restaurants were on average very good but stay away from the buffet...the tropical atmposphere was very romantic...a perfect place to get away for an intimate weekend. Consider booking a suite if possible..you get free limo service to and from the airport. I cant wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To make a long story short - we absolutely love the Mirage. Without a doubt - one of the nicest places in Vegas and perhaps the No. 1 place to stay. Very nice room. Very nice Casino. Lots to do and see. Outrageous swimming pool fun out back under the water falls. Wish I could stay there for a very long time . . .

Outstanding. We stayed for a week and had plenty of time to tour each big hotel's lobby. I found the Mirage to be the most pleasant atmosphere and comfortable casino. The staff, especially the dealers were exceptionally friendly. I was waited on hand and foot by the cocktail waitresses and I am NOT a 'high roller'.

Location of this hotel is perfect in my book. The Siegfried and Roy show is CLASSIC Vegas and their 'Secret Garden' is very well done.

To pick a negative (small) I wasn't that impressed by the shops or the two restaurants we sampled. Buffet was acceptable.. but no great shakes.

Enjoy the Mirage! Great place.

I really like this hotel. Me and my wife got a great rate in the the mail and decided to stay here. Right from the start, the service was great. The room was quite nice also. It's a step up from most vegas casinos. We received 2 free buffets just for staying there. The buffet was awesome. I really have no real complaints at all with the place. The casino is decently layed out with good variety. For some reason though, I never felt real comfortable gambling there. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay at a decent hotel on the strip.

Overall, a good choice. A $20 tip resulted in a room upgrade to an Executive Room! The location is excellent. The Mirage isn't a bad value but no longer the best strip hotel. The Bellagio and Venetian are a step above --- and have much roomier, nicer lobbies. I didn't like the casino being part of the lobby --- despite being a poker player.

It's not an easy place to eat well for a reasonable price --- one reason it's not that kid friendly. We tried the buffet but the Bellagio buffet was cheaper and better. One's best bet is to eat in the nearly Ceaser's Shops mall. For example, we had a nice, inexpensive meal at Spago.

If you can score it at a great price stay and enjoy the location. If you can swing it, stay at the Bellagio or Venetian.

The location is perfect. I have nothing but a good experiences at the Mirage. Side Valet is so easy getting your vehicle. The rooms have been remodeled and are very nice. You can always upgrade for alittle extra and get a better bathroom with walkin shower and extra sink. I'll stay here again and again.

We ate at Kokomo's in the Mirage, best meal we had all week. Staff cannot be any nicer. One thing I noticed is that the Mirage has plenty of staff and help. Great location. Pool is awesome, cafe by the pool is a great place to have lunch. It's hard to stay anywhere else. Coming back in the fall during football season, great sports book. We had a fabulous stay at the Mirage. This was our 4th stay at this property, but the first in the last 5 years. The pool is the best in Vegas and we spent alot of time there. We had two lunches and a breakfast at the outdoor cafe by the pool which served excellent food. The Sports Book was also a favorite. The staff was very friendly, from the reservationist to the housekeeping staff. If there was any disappointment it was in the quality of the Buffet. Since MGM has taken over, the quality seems to have gone down.

I was able to book The Mirage at basically half price during the Iraqi war. The room was clean, and the maid service was timely. I would have liked to have a jacuzzi in the room, but for half price, the room was certainly excellent. GREAT pool, but it was extremely crowded, and hard to get a chair. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The location is tremendous, within easy walking distance of a lot of other great resorts. The tropical ambience of The Mirage certainly enhanced the visit. Overall, I would definitely return for another visit.

My wife, 2 kids & I had the pleasure of staying at the Mirage this summer. What a great place! Tipping the check in guy was well worth the money. I have never seen anyone try so hard to make us happy. Both rooms had fabulous views of the Volcano. The atmosphere at the pool was the best I have ever experienced. The bathrooms are a little small, but everything else is first rate. There was plenty of stuff for my teenaged kids to do within walking distance, so Mom & Dad had a time to enjoy the vacation. After staying at the north & south ends of the strip, we decided to try the Mirage (center strip) are found it to be the place to stay. Everything is in close proximity. The service is terrific!

Hotel room was nice. Staff attentive. But they do cater to the high rollers. There are no comps for the little guy. We had to pay $20 each, per day just to use the health room to exercise. No break to hotel guests on tickets to shows, buffets, nothing. Next time, we'll probably go back to the MGM Grand, where at least they have a coupon book they give you at check in, or a place like the Frontier, where they have all kinds of 'gimmicks'. Good learning experience.

This was our first trip to Vegas. Various websites and recommendations led us to the Mirage. We also took advantage of a good package deal. We had 2 rooms for 4 nights. The rooms are large and clean, although the bathroom is small. Beds were comfortable and service was ok. One room had a very nice view of the pool area, the other looked at the highway. Aggravations: The floor plan of the main floor forces guests to walk a very long distance through the casino. I found similar floor plans in other casinos we visited. The casino area itself is very confusing. Must be part of a master plan. The pool does not open until 8AM and closes at 6 PM. In the morning, there is long line waiting to make a mad rush for good spots around the pool. There should be a better, less hectic way to open the pool. It’s also disappointing not to be able to use the pool on warm evenings. Again, the master plan is to force guests to the casino. In our case, it actually prompted us to leave the hotel in the evening and see other sites on the strip. Note: Beware of the grungy people handing out stripper cards on the sidewalks. Very sleazy. Makes it difficult to justify Vegas as a family, if not quality vacation spot. Nice Touches: Mirage location is good. Short walking distance to Caesar’s, Treasure Island, and Venetian. Cabs are easily accessible for longer distance towards the other end of the strip. Avoid the trolley. Drivers are rude, and the trip stops at multiple locations, taking a long time. The Mirage pool is beautiful. A tropical theme with lagoons and waterfalls. Recommendation: If we were to go back to Vegas, we’d consider the Mirage, Ceaser's (nice shopping area), Mandalay Bay (nice pool), and Luxor (interesting theme).

Well, I was really hoping to give this place a great review to add to all the others but sadly I can't do that. The Mirage was one huge dissapointment.
I had booked two nights here to experience the good service and beautiful hotel everybody kept talking about but frankly I just didn't see it. Granted the rooms are very nice and nicely furnished as are the hotel corridors and the volcano out front was also amazing but that's as much as i can compliment this place for. You pay high prices (at least by Las Vegas standards)for this hotel and it really doesn't deserve it. The service was patchy, housekeeping and was good but check in and guest services were poor. She asked me what room I would like and I told her and she then completely ignored my requests and gave me a room facing the mountains although thankfully it was a high floor. I then got all set to experience the pool to find when I got there it was closed for renovations. Nobody had told me prior to coming to the hotel, nor had it been mentioned at check in. I was told to enquire at Guest Services for further information where I was greeted by a very unhelpful and unapologetic lady who begrudgingly told me that I could use the pools at other MGM Mirage hotels. Hardly the same especially since Treasure Island's pool can barely accommodate it's own guests never mind the Mirage's! So had to walk to Bellagio.
The room itself was nice but nothing special and only one out of my four lamps worked making the room pretty dark so after three visits from housekeeping (why three I don't know!) I eventually had light only to find there was no bath plug so no bath for me!

The overall atmosphere of the hotel was poor, I had stayed at Aladdin prior to coming here and loved the place for the atmosphere and the overall design of the hotel. Mirage just felt flat, dark and rather dated and overshadowed by the newer resorts. The casino just wasn't nice to play in. This didn't extend to the hotel floors which were alot brighter and more deserving of a luxury hotel.

I've been lucky enough to stay in some of the world's finest hotels and I'm afraid this place just isn't as fantastic as the Mirage management likes to think it is. It's certainly not Bellagio standard and not a patch on the Aladdin (Yes,I know I never expected to say that either but it's true). I'm afraid I'd be very reluctant to waste my hard earned cash on this place again unless the rates were cheap which let's face it rarely happens here.

Maybe I was just unlucky but Mirage sort yourselves out if your going to keep up with the new mega resorts or else I see your days being numbered.

We stayed at the Mirage for three days in the second week in April and have only good things to say. Our room was on the 24th Floor (a Tower De-Luxe) and it had a marvellous view of the strip. The room itself was pretty and the bathrooms are a nice size with whirlpool tubs. We arrived at 11.00 am and there was no line at check-in. The girl on the desk was vwery courteous and it only took two minutes. I asked for a room with a view and got it. Room was ready immediatly which was a relief after a long flight (from Ireland).
The casino itself is ok although I think its a little dark and cheerless. I played poker most of the trip and the room is very well run. Staff were all helpful and the dealers were friendly and patient.
I do think the buffet is s little overpriced for the fare on offer and I think ending breakfast at 11.00 am is a little early especially for those of us who play until 6.00 am.
The mini-bars in the rooms are very expensive and a previous guest somebody had eaten two chocolates from a box and replaced it and we got billed for it. However when we pointed this out it was removed from our bill immediatly.
We have to say it was a great trip and good value for money (less than $150 per night). I certainly will be staying there again.

A great visit, would stay again. The only problem was the volcano was a little loud. The rooms were very clean and the maids were always on time. Would stay there again.

Have stayed at the Mirage every year since it opened. Still the best. Courteous staff. On checking in they did not have the room I had reserved. I asked for an upgrade and got it on the 24th Floor. Asked for small pillows and they were there in 2 minutes.Manny and Richard are great roulette dealers. Am looking forward to staying there again.

My wife and I got married at Treasure Island (Mirage doesn’t have a chapel) but stayed here for sentimental reasons (this is the place we stayed when we were first going out). Since it was our wedding we decided to spend the extra money for a Penthouse suite with a Volcano view.

Having previously stayed in a Tower suite, I can attest that the only differences between the two suites are as follows. In the Penthouse: the furnishings are a bit more hoity-toity, the curtains motors of their own, there is a little daybed-type-chair-thingy in the bedroom and (of course) there is the price difference. Other than that there is really no difference between the Tower and the Penthouse suites.

After much (Internet) research, I have found that the Mirage has the best deal for suites and that’s why I stay here. Venetian charges an arm and a leg for their Piazza suite, and instead of walls they really liked the curtain idea (at least their curtains are made of cloth instead of beads). If you want to get something like that at Paris, you have to go through an entirely different department. Who then has to consult with their boss, who then crosses the path of a scorned widow and consults his menagerie of birds, just to get a “Well, what are you using it for? ” answer. (Ummm, to sleep in?) Moreover, up until recently Mandalay Bay didn’t even have suites with two bedrooms and (according to their website and staff) the only thing that separates regular rooms from the suites is the presence of a couch.

Although Steve Wynn has moved on to building Le Reve, I cannot honestly say that I notice the differences in service that others have commented on at the Mirage. Dealers are still super friendly, Pit Bosses are still cordial and tolerant (especially if you’ve brought drunk friends), waitresses are attentive to your call drinks bringing you exactly what you want (except if it’s Blue Curaco or Louis the XIII Cognac) and in addition to all that; the suites are just plain awesome! I guess that’s why this was my 5th time staying there and my fourth time getting a suite!

We stayed at the Mirage for the Thanksgiving holidays. The check-in process was smooth, and the staffs were friendly. Room size is average but the bathroom is relatively small. The toilet seat kept falling every time I lifted it up. Tub drain was clogged, but the problem was fixed within a few hours after we left a message to the maid. The Black Jack dealers were easy to have conversations with. I especially had lots of fun in one evening because the gambler sat next to me was a high roller. My bets were between $25 to $35 while his were $5,000 at our $10 minimum bet table (later raised to $15). We actually won some money. The facilities at the spa were good, although not to the standards at Bellagio, but the services were excellent. Overall, we had a great time. We will definitely stay at the Mirage again.

The service in the cafe resteraunt was very slow all week. The rooms were ok for a standard type room. At $169.00 a night for 7 nights, we expected a nicer room. The casino raised the minimum wage to $15.00 on most tables by 7:00pm on most nights. It seems like they could have serviced more $5.00 and $10.00 players latter in the evening.

I don't know why some people don't like the Mirage, but we stay there every time we travel to Vegas. The number one reason is LOCATION! We walk everywhere and don't take taxis. The Mirage is next door to Treasure Island, across the street from the Venetian, and bumps up next to Ceasars. There is always somewhere to go. The casino has a very comfortable tropical setting.
We use the room to sleep only, so who cares about the view and the maid service. The one thing to keep in mind is the frige. DO NOT pull anything out of it even to just look at the items. It will charge you and you will have a nice surprise at check out. I pulled out several items to check them out and was charged for it even though I didn't use it. They had to call a supervisor to go to the room and check the frige. Everything was worked out, but it was something we didn't expect.
We did get a big surprise 2 years ago when we were waiting in line to check into our standard room. Someone pulled us out of line to their desk and asked us if we want to upgrade to a $1,000 a night room at no charge. We said YES (of course)and that was the only time we stayed on Mirage property the entire trip. how can you leave a hotel room the size of our house!

The Mirage needs to be renovated. It opened in 1989 and the rooms are small but clean. The tiny bathroom was a problem. The A/C had no power; although it was turned up high.I often sweated although it was the end of October. There was an odor of sewage in several rooms and in the pool area, too. The food at the buffet was cold and stale; like it was a day old. The selection was not too good: they used to offer lox to put on bagels; that was eliminated at breakfast. The lobby and pool areas are still great! The staff was helpful and attentive. Be careful using the room safe. It was very small and I must have put too much in it. The lock jammed and I couldn't open it to retrieve my wallet with all my documents and cash. The keys were in there, too. The view from the window was fantastic. We faced sideways down the Strip and saw the Colosseum, Eiffel Tower, Caesar's Palace, and Luxor. The view was worth the price. The location is perfect; within walking distance of all the resorts except for the Luxor and Mandalay. The food was OK but not as good as it was in 95 and 97.

Spent the middle week of August for our 5th Anniversary. Good location on the Strip. Hotel interior is impressive. Room was standard (Shower too small). In order to get a good spot at the pool, you have to line up before 8:00 AM (opening time). The breakfast buffet is passable (recommend Denny's across the street in Casino Royale). The Spa is impressive (excellent service - no manicures/pedicures - try Treasure Island). The casino is well equipped. Get there early in order to play $5 Blackjack. Minimums go up around 11:00 AM. Check-out time is 12:00 PM. Due to a later flight, requested late check-out and was accomodated to 2:00 PM. Any later would have cost $79. Overall impression - very nice hotel, but for the price, could do better elsewhere.

Visited Mirage from 8/21-8/25. Room was comped but had it not been there was no way we'd have paid money to stay. Room 6122 was horrible. Odor present(non-smoking room--we sprayed Febreeze), carpet stained(what happened to rooms being remodeled?), vent made rattling noise when air was on 'cool'; bathroom--TINY, TINY, TINY, tub drain not working, toilet not flushing consistently; Housekeeping was spotty (carpets not vaccuumed 2days, dirty glasses left another), no turndown service (last visit we recieved it without asking. We allowed having received it comped to stop us from complaining---NEVER will we do that again. Restaurants were great(Kokomo's, Onda's, Caribe Cafe). BJ dealers were friendly, cocktail waitresses were present at tables but scarce at slots. Problem in dealing with slot and table hosts(who knew there was a table host?). THEY are the reason for our decision to not return. We received meals comped in addition to our room so we are not debating $ issue. Too much is left to whim of 'hosts' on what is given. We're not into 'begging' or being made to feel like they did us a favor. It should be based up on play--period. Even though the trip was pretty much comped, we could not recommend Mirage at this time. This was a second visit and the difference between treatment(courtesy is all we wanted)was night and day.

The Mirage was clean and convenient. The casino was as all other casinos in that there were plenty of slots, gaming tables, etc. but I had absolutely no luck making any hits. I blame this solely on the revenue lost after Sept. 11, 2001. I also heard the rumor from some locals and those who dealt specifically with casino reps that the machines have been "tightened" a great deal. I did visit the hotels that had no or very little overhead to better my chances, however, I had no luck whatsoever. Had I known this prior to losing all, I would have refrained from gambling altogether. Go figure!

Aside from my losses, I did have a nice time. This is partly due to some great shows Vegas offers, namely, Rita Rudner, "O" by Cirque du Soleil, etc.

We got a petite suite which was very nice but it cost about $185/night. The whirlpool tub was not big enough for two, and the TV volume control did not seem to work. We had a lousy view of Vegas since our room did not face the strip. Our biggest complaint was the temperature. Even though we had the AC on max, the room never got much below 80 deg....too hot to sleep comfortably. We paid too much for this kind of discomfort. Having two bathrooms, 4 telephones, and two TVs seems like a waste when what was really needed was better air conditioning! Maybe we shouldn't have gone in July!

They advertise the room as having a refridgerator but they do not tell you that it is fully stocked with overpriced items ( a soda is $4) and if you take an item out of the full fridge it will be automatically added to your bill! Every item is on a electrical tether. What a rip off! The fridge is absolutely worthless unless you want to waste your money. They charge you $20 to work out in the weight room. If you want to see the dolphins it is $10 per person evan if you are a guest!

Do not go to this place! They are only interested in the bottom line - your money.

I have to admit, I do have mixed feelings about my stay at the Mirage Resort.
Having stayed there before a few years ago, I was aware of the high level of
customer service that the hotel used to pride itself in. Arrived home today after a 5-night stay. Saturday night was $139 plus tax; remaining 4 nights
at $79 a night plus tax for 19th floor view of volcano. Mirage summer special
which included free buffet breakfast and a white stuffed tiger.
I was so excited to be staying at the Mirage once more. However, my excitement
dissipated upon the check-in where I was informed that they would not honor
the Triple A discount for the $139 rate; reservationist on the phone told me
that the first night only would qualify as a 10% discount through Triple A.
Okay, 14 or 15 bucks; no big deal. I just overlooked it and said, what the heck.
So now the room. It was mediocre. Drab brown-colored curtains. Not like the little picture they show on their web-site with the maroon and yellow color scheme. Very drab. We were supposedly in the non-smoking tower. However, both my husband and I smelled stale smoke in our room. Room temp outside was a cool 113 the day we arrived. Maybe that's why the room just didn't seem very cool. We had the air on Max and it just seemed very stuffy. However, that problem resolved once the temp dropped to 105 or below. Noticed much improvement with the temp. But love THAT pool. It is the one redeeming feature
about that property; very nice. Oh, back to the room, I think it's fine
size wise and yes, the bathroom is a bit small, but it was never a problem for us, and it's all nice marble.
Now for the housekeeping part. On day one we came back to our room late and it was made up. Day Two: We left the room at 8:00 a.m. and came back at 4 p.m.
and it room still hadn't been cleaned. Had to call housekeeping.
Day 3: Came back at 3:30. Room still hadn't been made up. Had to call housekeeping. Came back at 5 p.m. and then it had been done, finally!
Last day -- just in case, we called housekeeping to let them know that we were
leaving and that they could make up the room. Came back 4 p.m. and it was done.
Interestingly enough, we overheard one housekeeper informing someone that they'd made up one of the vacated rooms nice and fresh at 9 a.m. when we were leaving to go out for breakfast. That seems to be their pattern there, to only focus on cleaning the rooms of the folks that have checked out of the hotel.
That was definitely their priority; not cleaning rooms efficiently of those of us who were already there. The buffet was just horrible. Samba Grill excellent.
Oh, I almost forgot -- the valet parkers lost our car and had to search and search for almost an hour until they finally found the thing! I'm not very keen on the Mirage Hotel anymore. The employees seemed sort of lackluster for the most part, especially the cocktail waitress by the pool who didn't even say thank you for the tip. By the way, just in case anyone is wondering, we did tip the housekeepers every day too, and our service was spotty, at best. Even had
to write notes to ask for soap. I think the Mirage needs to do something special, like improve its buffet, or do something new to draw more folks. It's
just getting, well, very boring compared to Paris or Rio or some of the other newer casinos.

I have to say that I agree the rooms at this resort are not as big or as nice as other hotels, but I still loved it here. Got a free upgrade to a tower room with a volcano view when I told the front desk it was my boyfriend's birthday. It was a smoking room but we did not smell any smoke in the room or in the hallways. Maid service and service in the casino was excellent. Won $150 on roulette and $250 on the nickel slots on my first day! The pool is amazing and the drink service out there was also very good. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly and I did encounter anyone with a bad attitude. A previous post I read made me worry about having a problem with the A/C, but we had no issues. It was 113 degrees outside and our room was cold! I did not eat at the buffet or any restaurants here. Sigfried and Roy was a good show but overpriced. We saw Mystere at TI and loved this show!

This is a great place to stay for the money and I will be back!!!!!

I have to say I was fully satisfied with my stay at the Mirage. I receieved a flyer in the mail offering special rates of which I took advatage. The rooms were spacious and clean with a nice tropical them to them. The pool area was crowded, but still comfortable. I had no problem finding a spot even on the weekend. The in house cafe served huge portions for a very reasonable $$$. I couldn't come close to finishing the Rueben I ordered. The staff seemed very friendly and accomodating. Check in & out was painless and moved along quickly. The only knock I can give to the place was that the machines seemed very tight. Overall I would recommend the Mirage to anyone.

Got a good deal on the room with a beautiful view of the volcano and a good price on the plane ride. Also reserved tickets for Danny Gans show and was seated in the 13th row center stage, it was wonderful! My wife and I enjoyed the wonderful pool with waterfalls, bridge and palm trees. Get out to the pool early on the weekends if you hope to get a lounge chair.
We also enjoyed the spa, where the massage was great and the service spectacular.
The rooms are only fair even though they were just redecorated. The bathrooms are small and the deluxe tower rooms are only average. The petite suites at the Treasure Island are much, much nicer, but their pool is very small and boring.
We will definitely go back to the Mirage again, but I think we will try the Mandalay Bay next time.

The Mirage is still one of the classiest properties in Las Vegas. I have received some discount room rates during thier slower season and still get treated like royalty. We once had a problem with my daughters room (they thought they had assigned it to another guest and her key quit working). The management resolved things quickly and gave us a comp meal for the trouble, without my having to pester him for it. We all absolutely love the pool complex except for the fact that the staff doesn't enforce the minimum age in the jacuzzis. Think about it, that 7 year old kid doing a cannonball in the jacuzzi is not the one paying for the stay let alone very likely to drop a wad of bills later in the casino. Other than that I would stay at the Mirage anytime (I can afford).

This is a great hotel--it started the "new" Las Vegas when it opened in 1989, and the guest rooms have just been remodeled once again. The pool is still (along with Bellagio and Mandalay) the best in town, I still find the front desk personnel to be the most friendly and helpful, there are usually games ranging from $5 and up in the casino, and the restaurants (with the exception of the buffet, which is now the only truly mediocre thing about the Mirage) are excellent, especially the amazing Renoir. The rooms are classier and nicer than before, and MGM seems to be trying hard to keep this property up to the level it has occupied for pretty much all of its existence. I would still highly recommend the Mirage--check their website for specials, as the hotel is a great deal for less than about $150 per night, and maybe a little overpriced at over $200 per night---with the exception of the Tower Suites, which are fabulous even at $400 a night.

My husband and I stayed at the Mirage for our 5th anniversary. We booked a tower suite but upon check in were upgraded to a penthouse suite! We had a view of the volcano which was awesome! We are not by any means "highrollers" so this treatment was great! We had limo service to and from the hotel. All of the staff we encountered were helpful and courteous. Anytime we sat down at a slot or table it seems within minutes we were asked if we needed a drink. The pool is beautiful although they do pack you in there pretty good.
The only thing we weren't too impressed with was the buffet. I have seen a lot of people complaining about the buffet and I have to agree. It was the only buffet we went to but we were not impressed at all. But hey, there are many many surrounding hotels, go to their buffet!
We liked our stay so much we are prepping for our next trip and have booked a "regular" room. We decided to spend the extra money on gambling versus the room. (We wanted to go "all out" for our first Vegas experience) This time we're going for the gambling/partying. Can't wait to be lying by the pool drinking a big pina colada. LUV THE MIRAGE!!! ;)

The standard room was not the best I've seen, but not terrible. Bathroom is REALLY SMALL!!! We had a volcano view room, but really you can only see about 1/4 of it from our window. There were also technical problems with the volcano and it did not explode either night. I guess it happens, but what a rip. The pool itself is nice (one small one, one huge one with really nice waterfalls that is sectioned into the pool by the waterfall, a lap area and another piece that the main waterslide empties into. Major complaint about the pool is that they really pack you in like sardines. You have to do some major rearranging of the chairs to turn them. I feel like we got a great deal though through a promotion we received. Volcano/strip view standard room, 2 free breakfast buffet tickets and 2 free entrances into the secret garden (it was closed the day we decided to go to it- we had some bad luck). I wouldn't have been to happy with the stay otherwise.
One MAJOR PLUS!! If you like to SPORT BET- this is THE PLACE for you.
Best one I saw!!! The casino itself is not my favorite, but not awful. There are tons of others nicer. If you like to play blackjack- this is NOT the place for you. Majority of the tables have automatic shufflers- I hate them.

I have stayed at the Mirage three times in the past year, and I am going back in December. The only complaint I have about the Mirage is the nasty girl I encountered at the front desk when I tried to give her my credit card to add the my room account so I could watch a movie. Apparently now you need a drivers license to use a credit card in my name when the ROOM was in my name. She was just being a little brat who was drunk with power. BESIDES that, every other time I have ever been there is has been nothingless than amazing. The valet was incredible, the front desk was superb, room service was outstanding (although a little pricey) and the casino...luv it! I won more in the mirage than any other casinos combined. I have stayed other places, some bigger, some smaller. My favorite is the Mirage.

The classest place in Vegas. If you have never gone to Vegas this is the place you must stay for your first visit. The whole place is just an experience from checking in and seeing the sharks to walkling through the rain forest. Its not too big that you can't find your way and is just wonderful. Only negative and its a small one is that the valet service is slow. Better off parking at Treasure Island and walking over.

Just got back from a 3 night stay. When we checked in we were advised that we were upgraded to a penthouse!!!!! We couldn't believe it for $257 a night!!! It was awesome although the decor needs to be updated. It was huge and clean. Everyone we ran into was very nice. Had roon service one night which was very prompt, delicious, and filling. The buffet wasn't that great for breakfast, but far better than treasure island's. Casino was ok.

I would definitely recommend The Mirage. Our room was clean, room service was very prompt, the spa was excellent and hotel personnel were friendly and efficient.

We just stayed at The Mirage while in town to see Celine at Caesars Palace. Treasure Island or Monte Carlo is our usual choice hotel on the strip but we decided to try The Mirage because they had a rate of $99 where the others were all higher. We've checked rates at The Mirage before and have usually stayed at other places because The Mirage has always been much more expensive. I would say in comparison to Treasure Island, the rooms are not as nice. They are much more basic, the beds are not as plush, the decor is much less pleasant. The casino itself is better layed out and has a better atmosphere than Treasure Island. The Rainforest theme is very refreshing and you walk through the lobby which has waterfalls and jungle. The lobby is directly accessible from the parking garage which is SO much better than TI which you have to trape through the entire casino to get to the parking area. The Oatmeal soap is yummy and the drapes completly close which allows for good sleep in the A.M. The only bad thing is you cannot open up any windows (not even an air vent) for air and you walk in the room and can immediatly tell the air is stuffy. Also, the showers are REALLY small. Overall, I would say we would stay at The Mirage again but for less money and a better room, stay at Treasure Island.

This was our third annual office Christmas trip to Las Vegas and our first stay at the Mirage for our group of 10. Room reservations were made through the Mirage mail promotion offering a rate of $79, a free upgrade to a volcano view, and a breakfast buffet for two. It was a terrific offer. The rooms were very nice, comfortable and clean. Check-in was quick, but selection of a fast line is random. The staff was very friendly and helpful in getting rooms close to each other. Security was good and only allowed guests with keys to use the elevators. The rooms had a wall safe to store valuables at no charge, unlike the Flammingo. The Caribe Cafe and Buffet were both excellent and the shops are fun to browse. The Gaming tables were well staffed with friendly personel and everyone was very helpful. Interestingly, there were no longer any "change ladies" pushing change carts through the slots area. Now we have no one to ask which machines are the best to play! This was the third time we've seen Danny Gans and he was wonderful as always. We reserved tickets on the Mirage.com website 90 days prior to our visit and got 2nd row center seats. It's nice to be close enough to see the facial expressions on Danny's face. Don't miss this show! We've seen Sig & Roy in the past but not this trip. They give a great performance with lots of glitz and showmanship, but not enough magic. Lance Burton, at the Monte Carlo, is our first choice for magical entertainment. Overall, we loved our visit to the Mirage.

Visited Mirage for my birthday and managed to get a $59 a night price (mid Dec). I absolutely love this place, my favorite place to stay and play in Vegas. The staff is awesome, the smell is awesome, and the location is second to none. My wife and I also enjoy the jungle longe area near the enrty. A very cool place to have a couple of drinks.

We arrived Christmas Day 01 for 10 days. We were invited to New YEars Eve Party and loved it. We didn't bring a tux for my husband...so we took an adventure and rented one..what a fun experience and very reasonable. They picked us up in a limo, took us to shop, fitted him, dropped us off elsewhere, delivered the tux to Mirage, and picked it up the next day..ALL for under $100. The party was fabulous..so much excitement, entertainment and fun! We hope to spend every NYEve at the Mirage. Gambling was another tale. Not too much luck. But all in all it was a great holiday and we're going back this year..maybe we will be a little or a lot luckier in the casino! Our room was wonderful and the hosts in casino couldn't have been nicer..hard to get to return your calls though!

Had great expectations before we arrived and were not dissapointed with the room, but the buffet!!!
Went for dinner which was cold, unimaginative and very poor choice. The ice cream dispenser was in a disgusting state, with the drip tray full and ice cream dripping on to the floor.
Next morning was more of the same, they could'nt even provide a cup of HOT coffee. We stayed at the Orleans five days prior to the Mirage and believe me the Mirage buffet compared to that place is minor league. Sorry, but at the prices they charge there is much better value to be found.

There is no place like the Mirage. My wife and I spent our anniversary there, and we very well taken care of. Our room was originally booked for $149 a night, but in the aftermath of 9\11, the rates went down and we changed to $99 a night with absolutely no problem from them at all. The rooms were immaculate, the service great, and the casino well staffed. Great food, and lots to do, from the pool, to the tigers, to the dolphins. Highly reccommend the Mirage, and after staying at the Sahara, the Mirage is the only place in Vegas we will stay from now on.

I have stayed at Mirage about 5 times. It is a very comfortable place, has a romantic setting, beautiful rooms with marble baths and amenities you would expect. It's an easy place to find your way around, luxurious but comfortable, great service and an excellent location on the strip.

Line for check-in was short(weekday 3pm)and front desk staff very friendly and helpful, usually gives upgrade. Tower Suite (26th floor)very beautiful, large rooms, great view of the strip from ceiling to floor windows, bathrooms stocked with goodies! shampoo, mouthwash, lotion... separate glass/brass shower, large whirlpool tub, only thing, no locks on the bathroom doors, so if your shareing a suite with someone and you don't want them walking in on you, don't get the tower suite!! Wet bar, frig, 2 sofas, chair, dining table seats 4. Free newspaper every morning at your door, free turn down service every night, fresh flowers when you arrive, limo service (free)to and from the airport. Casino very nice, good comps and I don't gamble that much, I just sat there playing the slots and a worker came to me and asked me if I wanted to apply for a players card, she did all the work, she just asked me a few questions and gave me my card, free. Every one(workers) in the casino and in the hotel are very very nice, always said hello and smiled. Pool area is to die for!! water falls, slides & whirlpools, nice snack bar by the pool too. Must eat at the California Pizza Kitchen(Best Pizza ever) or get your food to go and eat in your room! Buffet is also very good, good selection and taste great! Shopping is good but expensive. (Magic show) was great!! But to much money, next time I will go see Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo for half of what I paid for at the Mirage. Do not hesitate to stay at the Mirage, you will not be disappointed at all, I will be back again and again, I love this place and you will too!

This is now my most favorite casino hotel in the world. Great gambling rules at blackjack and roulette. Not as much of a tourist trap as most on the strip. The best casino host I have ever had. The room was OK but not real plush, but I go to gamble and eat, not sleep. I'm going back in June. I love it!

We were upgraded for no reason at all to a penthouse suite with great view of strip, bar, living room, dining room, and huge bedroom and bathroom. The TV even raised out of the cabinet at the foot of our bed. If we had any questions/problems they responded within 5 minutes. My husband was even able to get his clothes pressed for free. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, but there's long lines after 10 a.m. Checking in and out of hotel went very quickly and smoothly. Just remember to request something (i.e. a non-smoking room) and if they don't have it, they'll probably upgrade you for free. The casino floor is slightly more cramped, crowded and smokey compared to others like MGM which has higher ceilings. We had a great stay and would recommend it over MGM.

Dear Educated Consumer,
I have stayed at The Mirage many times, but I have never rated it. It is a wonderful property. I have always had a special place in my heart for The Mirage because I stayed there at its grand opening and watched Las Vegas boom after it was built. Everytime I stay there it is wonderful. The rooms are nicely sized, despite the bathroom being a little small in today's market. The price is right. Location couldn't be any better. The property(outside) is more beautiful now than ever because the foliage has grown and matured so much. The casino does not seem as large as it used to, but really, that is a good thing. You feel like you are a welcomed guest. Not some unimportant person trying to find your way in the mammoth new casinos. The employees are outstanding. Everyone seems to enjoy working there, even the janitors. If you want to spend a little extra and get a wonderful suite, I strongly recommend it. They are among the finest suites in the city, even after 13 years. The pool is magnificant, because it overflows with personality. Everyone I run into there loves it. It does need to be freshened up a little bit to compete with contenders like Mandalay Bay (a fancy copy of the Mirage right down to the gold glass on the hotel tower). A splash of something needs to be done. But, it is still one of the premier properties, regardless. I would rate the Mirage a 12 on a scale of 10. Even after aging and rapid growth of competition, no one can match the atmosphere of the beautiful Mirage resort. Mr. Wynn started something great with this place. Hopefully, Mr. Kirkorian can keep a good thing great.

Very pretty to look at, but rooms are small, it is always crowded and the staff is hands down the rudest I have ever seen.
