Didn't stay here when I was in Vegas, but enjoyed a drink at the bar. The
place seems very run down, and hardly anyone came into the bar when
we were there...had the place to ourselves for a pretty substantial amount
of time before a regular showed up. The bartender was friendly, even
though she referred to the place as a "wannabe bar." The casino closed
some years back, as mentioned, but there are some VP machines.
Allegedly one gets a free dance lesson if one books a room. I'd like to stay
there just to see what it's like, but it irks me that travelocity and orbitz both
claim that rooms here cost $50 a night! Maybe I could get a better deal if I
called them directly. It'd be something to do.

When I went to go see the hotel, it looked run down from the outside and there was no security but the camera inside.
The carpeting needs replacing and the decor.
It needs a fresh coat of paint and security and some cleaning.
I read how there was a shooting, but I have to say that out of the 30 years this hotel has been on the ground with various owners, 1 or 2 shootings is pretty darn good compared to some of these other hotels.
Yes, the drug dealers and hookers may pop around once in awhile, but with a little fixing up, it can become a better place.

For the benefit of anyone who may not be familiar with this hotel and location, I offer the following comments:
This hotel is located directly across the street from the Greyhound Bus Station, here in Las Vegas.
The Casino closed a few years ago.
There was a recent shooting which resulted in the death of a regular patron, who was having a drink at the bar. Apparently, a lone gunman simply strolled into the bar and shot her in the head.
This awful act surprised everyone, including the clientele, who apparently knew her as a "regular."
