In April, my now husband and I went to get married in Las Vegas. Paying for everything ourselves even with our family there, we had to keep to a strict budget. Honestly, we could not have picked a better place to stay. Granted, the hotel is in Jean, which is 25 minutes south of Las Vegas, but for the money we were saving, we didn't mind one bit. We chose the jacuzzi suite and paid under $70 a night. That was less than half of what all of the other casinos wanted for similar rooms in Las Vegas, or even in Primm for that matter. I booked about a month ahead of time, and the operator was quite helpful and friendly, congratulating us on our impending nuptuals. As long as you are paying by credit card and mention "guaranteed late arrival" (which you should do at any hotel) you can show up any time you feel like. As a matter of fact, I asked when check-in was and she said as long as they had something (and they always do) you can check-in anytime, even before normal of 2pm. When we arrive on 4/6 there was noone in line, which after our 7hour car ride was quite refreshing-there never is because most people would rather pay more and stay on "the strip".It did take a few minutes because at first she couldn't find my name, when I gave her our conf.# it was easy sailing after that. It did take us a few minutes to round up a cart. There were none on the lobby floor, so my husband asked a maintenance man who rode up and down the elevator stopping on all floors to find us one-he was a sweetie who went above and beyond. The room was amazing and far exceeded our expectations. The living area was huge as well as the bathroom with jacuzzi. We didn't hear a peep from any other room, I guess it all depends on who your neighbors are. There was one spot on our floor that squeaked so I hope the people below us weren't too annoyed as we walked across the floor. My parents were definitely envious being that they stayed in the same hotel in a standard room for under $20 a night. They're rather small for the 3 people that were in it, but you can't beat the price, unless you want to stay just outside of downtown and risk mutilation and bedbugs, neither of which is a concern at the Nev.Land. The buffet is overpriced for what you get and we only ate there once. The snack bar next door treated us well though. My husband went there while I was getting ready to get food for us. They don't do take-out as a rule, but my husband came back with something similar to egg mcmuffins that they made for us and sandwiched between 2 paper plates for easy transport-once again above and beyond in our opinion. Neither of us are table players, but if we were, we'd probably stay away from them because the dealers don't look that friendly. The slots were good to us though. You could wait all day for your comp. player drinks too, even in the off periods. My husband had to hunt her down for me and then she tok so long we moved in the mean time and kept a lookout even when he pointed her in my direction, she still disappeared again. Anyhow, it was overall a very pleasant experience for us and as a matter of fact we're going back in September and staying one night free! When you join the player's club, even if you don't rack up any points, they send you a welcome letter inviting you to stay one night free with a paid night. Not bad!

***WARNING, WARNING, WARNING*** You will want to avoid this hotel. Here's what we had gone through. I made reservations back in January for a jacuzzi suite, prices were acceptable since this is near the CA state line. Then on 2/25, I called the hotel to reconfirm my reservation, the lady on the phone reminded me since this is a jacuzzi suite I needed to check-in between 2:00p-4:00p, so Thursday 2/27, we arrived at 2:30p to check in, the girl at the registration counter told me the room was not ready and come back at 4:00p, ok no problem. I came back at 4:00p, this time only 2 old men were at the registration counter, at first they couldn't find my reservation. The man was telling me, we have no jacuzzi suite available, by this time I was boiling upset and luckily I had my confirmation number and dates and time of whom I spoke too. Well then after 20 mins of frustration, the same man told me oh we do have a jacuzzi suite available. Wow, what a great start to our vacation. The suite was very big and the bathroom was even bigger with a jacuzzi, but you can tell this is a very old property. You could hear every step of noise from the above room, even their bed sqeeking, while...you could guess. Later that night, I decided to play craps, guess what, no one on the table playing. I have never been in a casino where only 1 craps table and no customers.

We had both breakfast and dinner at the 2 different restaurants in the hotel, both waitresses were very slow and no personality. Then next morning, we had breakfast again with a different waiter, his name is Eddie, whatever you do, tell the host you want to sit somewhere else that Eddie does not service. He was one rude waiter and no personality, never brought our refills after we asked to have our drinks refilled. We stood up and complained to the manager and they finally comp our breakfast, at first they weren't going too. Later in the evening, I decided to play craps, yes customers at the table. Playing for awhile, about 2 hours later the pit boss comes on the table and becomes one of the craps dealers. He was one rude son of a b****. One of the players was about to stack the dice to throw and the pit boss embarassed him by yelling and telling him he can't stack the dice. This started a loud argument between the dealer and the player. Now I understand why no one plays craps at this hotel.

Finally, our last day, even at check-out, I was charged a lower rate for my jacuzzi suite, my receipt had the wrong address on it. Talk about not having their records correct is beyond my belief, it felt as if we were back in time when computers never existed and human errors were rampant. Oh well, that was my savings for the worst stay in Vegas. Everyone at Nevada Landing that I encountered were very rude, no one liked to smile and it's a shame. Management needs an overhaul and teach your employees to smile and be more friendlier. Ok, there were more bad experiences at this hotel in one trip than I care to list them all. You have been made aware, so stay at your own risk!!!!!
