Date Visited: 11/03 - Good Visit We just got back from Palace Station hotel & casino. The stayed in one of the courtyard rooms. The room was average. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The only thing is that they need to add bathtubs to their bathrooms and I hated that I had to walk up the stairs with my luggage. Sorry! No elevators in the cheap courtyard rooms! The place is so big, it's easy to get lost. We got great rates: $59.95 for Sat. and $10.99 for Sun. and Mon. The shuttle to the strip was nice and don't forget to go to that Palace Cafe! Delicious! Overall, it was okay. Nice to be away from the traffic on the strip. <kristigs1027 -at- aol.com> - USA - Added 11/18/03 - [198.81.26.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/03 - Good Visit Great Value for the money if you don't need to be on the strip or if you rent a car. Rooms are on the small side but the bathrooms are of standard size. My room was very clean and had been remodeled within the past year. Maid service was excellent. All employees were very responsive and quick to accomodate. I booked my reservations thru their website. The website stated that if I could find a cheaper rate on the web Palace Station would double the money back. I did and they did - with no hesitation. There is a charge of 4.95 per day for "hotel services" - telephone and bus transportation to the strip. I just asked that the charge be removed and they were - no hesitation there either. I will definitely stay here again. <wcbo3 -at- aol.com> - New York NY USA - Added 10/22/03 - [152.163.252.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/03 - Good Visit I was in Vegas June 6-10,2003. I stayed in a tower room. The room was clean and comfortable. I ate at the Palace Cafe right by the casino for 1 breakfest & 1 Dinner and a couple of lunches. The food was good and fairly priced. The casino was nice, the slots i played were ok. Lots of spins on 25¢ Wheel of Foutune, but the bonuses I got ranged from 25 to 100 coins, very tight. I did hit a few 1000 coin payouts on various 5¢ machines. Not bad put in $5 get out $50. Two things, the good is that they have a free shuttle from the airport, after you get your bags ask a worker the way to ground zero, that is where the free casino owned shuttles park. The BAD is that they no longer take you to the other Station Casinos, but the do drop you off next to The Frontier and also The Tropicana. Overall a good trip. <william -at- bacwebdesigns.com> - Lf NY USA - Added 02/09/03 - [66.218.21.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/03 - Bad Visit I was extremely dissappointed in my stay in this hotel. The price was OUTRAGIOUS for what you got! You could hear everything going on in the next room and even though the room was slightly clean, it was grungy and gross! I have never in my life stayed in such a dump & payed SO MUCH! Even the employees were unpleasant! It amazes me that they are still in business. <vicki.frampton -at- us.nestle.com> - Pleasant Grove UT USA - Added 04/14/03 - [204.31.203.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/03 - Good Visit Played here , did not stay the casino is excellent very big and well layed out we were not robbed and had 2 hours on slots and came out even. The only downer is the lack of cabs .Time your visit with the free shuttle <anonyimouse -at- aol.com> - London UK - Added 03/12/03 - [195.93.33***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/03 - Good Visit I just wanted to chime in a good word for the Palace Station. The rooms weren't hot - but the casino was. The casino staff was friendly and the your chances of winning money are much higher than at most on the stip places. Many locals obviously go there. The craps game was great. <deyoe -at- pacbell.net> - USA - Added 08/03/04 - [66.126.72.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/02 - Good Visit We didn/t stay here but played here. the staff was great. I hit for a small jackpot on the Jeannie nickels and when I cashed the ticket they change lady was more excited than I was. The whole place was fun to be in and gambling. my husband loved the craps tables and I did well on Let It Ride. Will definitely go back. <culley2 -at- bellatlantic.net> - Greensburg PA USA - Added 12/17/02 - [151.201.41.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/02 - Good Visit We had a great time at Palace Station. Initially difficult to find our way around, and didn't appreciate having to go outside the hotel proper to get to my room in the courtyard. We had an a/c problem, and it was IMMEDIATELY corrected. The staff was attentive and professional. Vegas is NOT the place for happy employees however and in our numerous visits there (a weekend trip for us from Phx), have yet to find really friendly staff ANYWHERE! It was a good visit, but I thought a bit pricey for the room we had and the distance to the Strip. <mjrob -at- sprynet.com> - Phoenix AZ USA - Added 11/13/02 - [63.184.105.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/02 - Good Visit We stayed here from July 5th - July 7th, we had 2 rooms, there was 7 of us in our group. We stayed in the courtyard rooms, they were clean and quite. But I do have to say that the closet was way way to close to the door, we kept getting hit by our clothes everytime we opend the door. And I have to worn you that the peep hole in the door is not good, you can see into the room when the light is on inside from outside the door, so we put tisue in ours. The casino was nice, my aunts did hit some real nice Jackpots, I sucked. The buffet was nice, we had dinner and breakfast. Now the staff well they were not that nice, we had asked for ajoining rooms and when I called the night befor we checked in to confirm, they said we did have ajoining rooms, but we did not, and they tried to make seem like I was wrong..... the cocktail waitres was very very slow, we sat for over an hour and never got the drinks we orderd, they missed out on a very big tip....The pool was great and so was the spa. But the hotel is way far from the strip. All in all this was not a bad deal for the price we paid. Next time I think we are going to try something on the strip, I need the exercise after eating at the buffet everyday. <edsangel1965 -at- hotmail.com> - Ceres CA USA - Added 07/12/02 - [66.189.161.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/02 - Good Visit We were in Vegas for a hair show, "The World Hairdressers" conference. We wanted a hotel off the beaten track. The girls at the front desk were RUDE. Would not stay again. <vperm -at- webtv.net> - 2204 12th Street South MT USA - Added 12/26/02 - [209.240.198***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/02 - Good Visit The tower rooms are recently renovated, some of the nicest rooms I have stayed in, large with dressing rooms. The Courtyard rooms suck, no other way to say it. I stay at Palace Station every year during my Vegas vacation for this reason: they are generous with their comps and there is NEVER a service problem with the staff. Anything you need will be taken care of. The larger strip hotels cater to the high-rollers. The Palace Station strip bus is clean and prompt. The buffet is great and reasonable, also the Italian & Mexican resturants, and the steakhouse, are great. Just make sure you book a tower room! <dbueler -at- watlow.com> - Hannibal MO USA - Added 07/01/02 - [204.28.3***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/02 - Bad Visit Ugly rooms and halls. Bathroom was DIRTY. They did not have good directions to get through the hotel. Very kid unfriendly. This place was just sick and grose. Warning do not go here you will not be happy. The beds were small and hard. The room was no bigger than a standard childs room. We were sorry that we stayed here. The staff was just as unpleasent as the rooms. <TRSBEAR -at- msn.com> - Denver CO USA - Added 05/13/02 - [65.102.226.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/01 Rooms were dirty and door would not close properly. Pool was small and hidden. The valet parking staff were the only redeeming factor. fast and friendly, thank God, so we could get away quickly <frankyou -at- aol.com> - Troy MI USA - Added 03/24/02 - [152.163.213***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/01 - Bad Visit We booked our room through Expedia.com. They gave Palace Station a decent rating. We got a fair price so we decided to stay there. BIG MISTAKE On our way to the room we noticed hookers hanging around in the hallway. Our room overlooked a garbage dumpster. There were men working and throwing garbage in the dumpster ALL night long. It smelled really bad in the room as the windows do not seal tightly. And noisy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable too. We complained in the morning. They offered to switch our room but at that point it was too late for apologies. It wasn't like the rooms were fully booked so as to not give a good room to begin with. This was right after the 9-11 thing. Please do yourself a favor. Don't stay here. Also Expedia.com would not refund our money. Be careful. <jcrtrain -at- aol.com> - Oakley IL USA - Added 03/10/02 - [205.188.197***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/01 - Good Visit Although the location is on Sahara away from the strip, we had no problems reaching strip hotels/casinos. There is a shuttle service; city busses run every 1/2 hour during the day; and taxis are inexpensive. A cab to/from a show on the strip was about $6.50 each way not including tip. We would visit this hotel again, but we would not stay here with our grandchildren . <hedrickgeorge -at- netscape.net> - Stillwater OK USA - Added 03/03/02 - [64.217.27.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/01 - Good Visit my sisters and myself stayed at this hotel the last time we were in vegas. we had a room in the courtvard. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We spent a good deal of time at the pool area. There was alway plenty of towels and chairs to lounge in. The casino was well lit. The staff was friendly and courteous. The distance from the strip was not an issue because we had a rental car. Myself and one of my sisters are planing a trip to vegas in August we have reservations at this hotel again. We have decided not rent a car this time. I hope the suttle will get us to the strip and back as promised. <juliapickett -at- hotmail.com> - Indianapolis IN USA - Added 07/14/02 - [172.157.64.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 02/01 - Undecided Decent, fairly clean casino. Great buffet (for breakfast). Friendly bartenders, dealers, and pit bosses. Low minimums. Nice large pool area with jacuzzi (both were open in Feb). That's the good news. The bad news is that I stayed in the courtyard rooms overlooking the pool and the rooms were dumpy; old decor, kinda smelled, no bathtub - just the shower with really low showerhead, sparse furniture, etc. Another negative was that we couldn't drive up to our door; the motel has interior corridors. (Tower rooms are s'posed to be newer/nicer). To be fair though, the bed was comfortable and the room had a large sliding window so you could get fresh air. I would not get the courtyard room again unless they're remodeled....maybe try a Tower room. Also, you need to know that this place is faaaar from everything; they've got shuttles but you would do better to rent a car. In other words, this place works if your a Vegas Veteran; if your new to town stay on the strip. <kingfishx -at- yahoo.com> - Harper Woods MI USA - Added 02/19/02 - [68.42.24***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 00/00 - Good Visit We have been going to the Palace Station Hotel and Casino at least twice annually for the past ten years and we feel pretty much at home. During this period of time, we stayed a few times in the courtyard rooms however being close to I-15, we found them quite noisy from the heavy traffic. Outside those few times, we have have always stayed in the tower rooms and have found the comped rates to be a bargain based on other casinos. Admittedly, the casino is a ways from the strip, however, we do not confine ourselves to the casino during the daytime hours and always have a rental car to do shopping and frequent trips to Laughlin. By using I-15 and/or north and south ends of the strip, we are minutes away from just about any casino to include downtown. We are avid slot machine players and being off the strip, Palace Station is able to program better payouts and which we feel attracts more locals than Sam's Town. Additionally, they seem to have a good selection of older slots that one is able to understand the machine playing functions. Even though the feast buffet was completely renovated within the past couple of years, for the money, we see better buffets for example at the Texas and Sunset Stations. We also like the location in that we are daily walkers and are able to plot a course into the local neighborhoods. In summary, we recommend you visit Palace Station, sign up for one of their boarding passes, get on their mailing lists for special room rates and for a few dollars more stay in the tower rooms. <lesabre98 -at- juno.com> - Colorado Springs CO USA - Added 10/02/02 - [204.32.144.***] Report This Comment You must judge the truthfulness of any comment and accept responsibility for your use of this information.
