Me any my family decided at the last minute to go visit Laughlin over the Memorial Day weekend. We arrived Thursday night and Wham, I hit a royal flush on quarters for $1,000. I thought this was going to be a good start of a great weekend. Well around Sunday my winnings dropped to around $300. Nobody was winning. It seemed everyone was frustrated. I spoke to a group of locals and they said for some reason this casino always gets "tight" on holiday weekends. They were there to play the table games and eat. After hearing this I noticed hardly any machines were winning and they were announcing a "lucky jackpot winner" of $200 several times. I will not go to this casino on a holiday weekend ever. It's not worth it.
Also the rooms were awful. There walls are very thin and you could hear people in the next room and people running on above.

my wife and i decided to stay at the pioneer for our birthdays and have a good time weve been regular customers and gamble every other weekend.we win and loose and loosing is excepted as part of the game however, lets start with our room we found old matches on the floor mold in the bathrooms, lets go to the resturaunt we thought we would have a nice meal for our birthdays well the food was good but the service was poor our waitress linda took 15 minutes to acknowledge that we were there .then she took our order 30 minutes went by and i understand it takes time to prepare the food but when the drink glasses are empty they should be refilled and then be advised on how long your food would take this did not happen she brought the food out and the next time we saw her she was bringing our bill mean while our drink glasses were still empty,so i told my wife lets go to the bar and get a drink the bartender was very prompt and friendly so we proceeded to the casino this is when bad went to worse .i have played keno for many years and have always been able to to win a little or just enough to keep playing for a while and have fun i have never lost 1200.00 in 6 hours playing quarters and in the process not being able to get a drink.the most i could win was 1.25 cents that is not fun ,ive been going to the pioneer for a long time and often there are casinos that are much closer to my house.i really feel like i got raped from the room to the resturaunt to the casino .

Visited New Year's Eve, and had a great time! Love all of the video poker machines, and did very well playing Blondie and To Tell the Truth machines. Visit every year, and will be back!

I love The Pioneer. I've been going there for over 10 years! It reminds me of the way casinos use to be. Freindly staff, conveniently located in the heart of Laughlin, easy access to the other places via water taxi and I have always been luckey there! The buffet however needs improvement...bad.

My sister and I had been to the Pioneer many times with our husbands. This weekend the husbands were fishing and we decided to try it alone. The hotel was booked because of the miniature golf tournament, so we had to stay elsewhere. We only play at the Pioneer. I sat down at a video keno machine and within minutes had won $810.00. Won the same the next day. My sister was just as lucky. I think they have finialy loosened up a bit on the machines. The service from the floor people was excellent as always. Be back this weekend!

My wife and I visit Laughlin about 4 times a year, and find the Pioneer a good place to stay and gamble. We especially like the location which is central to most all the casinos. The room was older and needing remodeling, but clean, and you park just outside your room. The casino is small compared to Harrah's, Hilton or Ramada, but the western theme works well. The casino is a bit cramped, and we were treat well by the dealers and pit boss. Struck up a conversation with a pit boss named Enrique, who helped us with our resevation mix-up. He made a simple phone call, and the room was made available. This was excellent customer service. The food at the buffet is only average, but the service was fine.

We really enjoy the hotel, you can find better hotels, but the combination of good service, excellent location, and a nice casino, makes this one of our favorite places to visit.

I've always been a great fan of Pioneer. I love their video poker machines and I'd say 70% of the time I come away a winner. I've hit 5 royal flushes in my visits, which amount to around 20 weekends. I remember when they gave away 6-packs of soda every time you hit a 4-of-a-kind. I use to come home with trunk loads of soda. I'd be happily coming back to Phoenix singing, "Double time, double time, double time, double jackpot time!". I plan on going again very soon. I recommend it to all my friends. One thing I'm not a big fan of is their rooms. In the summer heat the room air conditioners puts out warm air and not cold. I like to stay at Ramada and play at Pioneer. Good luck!
I visited on April 18-20-03 with my parents and all of us hit Royal Flushes. My father hit twice. All at Pioneer. I highly recommend playing here. I found that playing the machines that pay out 800 coins for 4-ACES is the best. We've hit a total of 8 4-ACES that weekend. My father hit 3 4-ACES on the double bonus near the Round-Up Club area, next to the Triple Play machines. I hit my Royal on those also. Good luck.

Stayed at the Pioneer hotel & casino 2-25 and 2-26. We had a good time. The food was good, the slots were paying ok and the staff were quite friendly. The room was clean, not the biggest, but ok. We took our pet (a small poodle)to see how she would do. She did fine. We would play awhile and then one of us would go check on her and take her for a walk around the area, then back to play somemore. We wanted to stay another night, but the pet rooms were all filled up. They only have 10 pet rooms and I guess they go fast. My suggestion would be to add a few more pet rooms. Would we stay here again you bet. My wife plays the Keno machines and they had a lot of the old style machines. She does not like the new gamemaker type and doesn't play them at all. Going again in may.all in
all, a fun trip. What more could you ask for.
