My wife and I have been going to Sams for about 10 years 3-4 times a year we have seen many changes but we have always enjoyed our stay the people are friendly and the gaming is very good. But the real thing that keeps us coming back is by far the GREAT employees of Sam's Town we always feel welcome and look forward to our return. So we can recomend Sams as a place to meet the great people of Las Vegas, when you arrive tell Erika, Sam, Dave or any of the other great Bartenders Bill & Nancy from Minnesota sent you.

Although best visited by car, there is a bus you can take from the airport and frequent shuttle service from Sam's Town to shopping outlets and the strip. The rooms are quite clean and a decent size, restaurants are good and the buffet is fair. Casino offers a good selection of games and comps are fairly easy to obtain.

Stayed at Sams during Nascar week, all on the house, including race tickets, meals etc. I am taking my kids there in August and I'll let them rate it for kid friendly.

Great hotel for locals, but is a drive from the strip. The room was a mini suite and was in great shape and very clean. Did not get to gamble here but will be back to stay there again.

A good all-a-round casino. We have been going to Las Vegas for years and have gotten a lot of comps from Sam's Town. The most resent being a free three night stay and free entry for two, to a $10k video poker tourniment!

I like this place cause I hit a nice taxable jackpot. This was my first visit and won't be my last. My friend told me about Sam's Town, so I thought I'd try it. They were very quick with the money too. I've gotten two free room offers but I don't like the location.

A nice place to stay off the strip. Rooms were clean and adequate. Staff in casino friendly and helpful. Easy access to parking garage and Flamingo rd. Stayed there over New Years eve and glad I did as the strip was jammed with people. Made it easy to join in the festivities and then get away.

Stayed at Sam's Town through New Years's celebrations. The room was nice and the service was good. Easy to park and get in and out of. Easy access to highways and had no problem driving up to main strip. Casino personnel were friendly and the place was clean. I'd stay here again.

The hotel rooms are spacious, quiet and they have excellent housekeeping service. The buffet was okay, they could improve on the quality of the food. The casino needs to improve on the air circulation, it is way too smokey, especially when the casino gets crowded. Played keno and the staff was not friendly at all.

Off the strip is good. The pool seems to have been an afterthought. They are trying to improve Happy Hour out there, but the free appetizers are worth a little less than that. Music at the pool is a bit loud, but when it is hot, you have to be there. Nice poolside service, and clean.

It's been 11 years since I stayed at Sam's Town, and it's grown and been remodeled, but it's lacking the warmth and a couple good restaurants. I miss Mary's Diner, but especially Diamond Lil's! The food is only adequate now, and not served with a smile either. The rooms are just the same. The casino is much larger, but those machines never did pay off for me. I guess "Sam" is still paying for the remodeling...

I'll stay downtown from now on. The room rates are less and the restaurants like Golden Nugget's suit my taste, and the El Cortez is still my favorite place for serious gaming.

My husband and I have stayed at Sam's Town on several occasions, and both agree that it was an enjoyable experience. Although you are away from the hustle and bustle of the strip, you are able to ride the shuttle, at no charge, no various locations on the strip and near Fremont Street. Our stays have always been quite enjoyable and the staff are helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful trip in beginning of Nov, 2004, enjoyed the rooms on 9th floor and found some hot new penny machines...Lil Lucy, and made 800.00!! Great way to start the trip.As usual all were very friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome, we will be back in Feb 2005, if not sooner. The buffet seems to have improved since last visit...and the other restuarants were great!!

This was our 3rd stay . We found that service, friendliness and cleaniness has seriously eroded. Fewer staff and in general the courteous manner has gone down since our visit last year. The rooms are the same, however we told our maid to not bother changing the sheets every day, every 3rd day was finebut the sheets and blankets were just thrown over a couple of times and we had to remake the bed.The buffet was fine but closing Mary's Diner is a shame. we have decided to stay elsewhere next time.

Second visit since 11/01... fourth visit since 11/00. No, it is not Caesars, Bellagio or Mirage. It is a clean, reasonably comfortable hotel with prices that are appropriate. It is family friendly... TOO FAMILY FRIENDLY! Kids underfoot everywhere, but we also found that in many of the Strip hotels. Big mistake was closing MARY'S DINER... great food, cheap. Prices are low in the coffee shop, but the service leaves something to be desired. The buffet is OK but stay away from their Special Nights like Friday Seafood. Food is good in the buffet, but not a good value, except at lunch.
Overall, we find Sam's Town "homey and pleasant", employees (both casino and hotel) are friendly and eager to help.
We've travelled to Las Vegas from the East Coast more than 50 times in 33 years and have stayed at many of the top hotels on the strip. Sam's is one of the
better Price/Value places to stay.

We have been staying at Sam's Town in Las Vegas for over eight years (at least twice a year). The service and amenities started going down hill when they started their remodeling. First, they took out the BEST sports bar in Vegas...My husband and I almost stopped staying here because of this, but gave them the beneit of the doubt. Then they took out the nice pool area...and then they moved and changed the buffet (not for the better)...and now they have removed one of their better cafes, Mary's Diner. Although our rooms and meals were comp'd, we left after only one night. Sorry Sam's Town, we will be looking for a better hotel/casino for all of our future Vegas jaunts.

Just returned from a stay at Sams Town in Vegas, and must say that we were very disappointed. The place is NOT what it used to be. First, upon arrival we found that they had messed up and "cancelled" our reservation due to an alledged no-show. Upon a lengthly investigation (45 minutes), they discovered that their records were in error, credited my credit card back for the no-show charges, and then checked us in. Fortunately they still had rooms available. Upon arival at the room, we were really disappointed, because the room didn't smell fresh, it smelled dirty or stale (it was a no-smoking room), and it was very small and frugally decoreted compared to the rooms that we can get for the same price or less on the Strip. In fact, the rooms on the strip are far superior. There wasen't even an ironing board and iron in the room, and no hair dryer. The bed was also quite uncomfortable and the pillows are small and cheap. We were also disappointed by the new buffet. The selection and quality of food items was better on the old buffet. Even the cheap buffets on the strip are far superior to the one at Sams. Its really a shame because the old buffet was excellent. They have made a huge mistake in changing the buffet, and in doing away with the special items that they used to have that set Sams buffet apart from the oother buffets (peanut brittle, carmel apples, etc). The gaming was very poor, we did much worse at Sams then at the strip casino's, and their selection of slots is too limited, hardly any blazing 7 machines at all. They didn't even have many of the newer games. All in all, we were very disappointed in the new Sams. This used to be one of our favorite places to stay and play, but they have really gone down hill. They don't even get on second base compared to the strip casino and hotels when comparing quality and guanity and customer service. The new management has really screwed up what used to be a nice place.

Didn't stay at theis hotel overnight but on each visit to Vegas I make it a point to play blackjack in their casino. Good house rules and the dealers have always been very nice. It is a locals place so you won't see any of the beautiful people you'd see on the strip. Just everyday folk like you and me. When your tired of gambling the movie theatres are fantastic. My 11 year old tells me that the arcade is one of the best, as is the Fri thru Sunday $5.5/hour childcare. Food court has something for everyone and the buffet was suprisingly pretty good. Yeah, I'll go back to Sam's Town.

It's been a couple of years since we've stayed at Sam's Town, I think March of 2000, but we really enjoyed the place. The room was nothing fancy or special but it was reasonably large and they placed in a room that had a great view of the water and laser light show in the atrium. I believe we were on the 5th floor of the north tower.

The casino is enjoyable but they have removed many of the full pay VP machines which is bad for us. There are two floors to the casino, which makes the size a little deceiving.

The atrium is a nice place to go and relax for a little while and there's a little coffee stand in there that we really like. They also have a good seletion of restaurants to choose from.

If you're going to stay off strip, Sam's Town is a decent choice.

I've stayed at Sam's Town many times over a period of about 8 years. While I'll agree that it's not as good as it used to be, there are few hotel/casinos that can claim they have improved over the years. Sam's Town still offers an excellent value for the money. For table gamers, the casino can't be beat. Lot's of good-rule blackjack tables, and nearly the best free-odds craps bet in town (100 times for $5 or over). The casino was recently remodeled and is open, airy, and comfortable. The dealers and floor supervisors (pit bosses) are all pretty friendly and helpful. Sam's Town is pretty generous with comps. I'm by no means a high roller, but my room and meals are always comped. The hotel rooms are not luxurious, but they are comfortable and clean. I don't need luxury - I can't see through my eyelids anyway! The clientele consists primarily of serious gamblers - locals and middle-30 or older visitors. This is not the place to come to ogle the beautiful people. But if you want to do some good gambling and take advantage of generous comps, then it's a great value.

This is a nice place to visit, people are friendly and the food is good. The machines let you play for a while before taking your money. The laser show is fun to watch. And it's a nice place to catch a shuttle to the strip or downtown.
