We checked into the Stardust on Dec. 30th. We chose to stay here
because of the moderate rates over the New Year's holiday. We
requested a non-smoking room in September when the reservations
were made but were given a smoking room in the East tower. The East
Tower is in no way a tower. It is the shanty/maintenance shed located next
to the actual stardutst. At first glance the rooms seemed not too bad,
however after further inspection we discovered otherwise. The tub had a
crack in it which allowed water to seep in over time. When we showered,
the water would seap up and release a foul smell. The cold water knob
was also broken and fell off whenever we would try to turn the water on.
There was also a large circular stain on the bed skirt. We had a balcony
but since we were on the 2nd floor our view was of a fence and a weed
that resembled a tree. Don't even get me started on how thin the walls
were. We could hear absolutely everything our neighbors were saying and
vice versa. This whole building has a smell that resembles BO/room
deoderizer. The casino was full of old people, even on New Years Eve and
the buffet sucked too. Wayne Newton is the only draw to this hotel and if I
was him , I would be embarresed to have my name attached with such a
takcy hotel. Overall, it was a cheap place to stay on New Year's Eve and
after a night of drinking, you don't care how thin the walls are. However if I
had to stay in this room while completely sober, I would probably not stay
at all.

The Stardust is terrific. We get offers to stay all over the strip, and we have tried most of them in the past, but the Stardust is where we choose to stay now. Rooms are nicer than most, all are convenient and secure, the restaurants and buffet are the best, casino is fun and has variety, everything easy to get to, never crowded feeling, staff are great. We were just there between Chistmas and New Years and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. Not a problem or disappointment. Players club easy and convenient. We have stayed at seven other hotel/casino's on the Strip and all have at least one major flaw, but none at the Stardust. We're going back soon!!!

Last month my mom and I stayed at the Stardust for 3 nights. We slept in a room in the West Tower that had a pretty good view of the strip. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was good. Housekeeping tended to the room everyday.

As far as gaming goes the casino isn’t glamorous, but has a pretty good selection of slot machines, video poker and table games. I played the slots and video poker machines and found they paid out a decent percentage of coin in.

We ate Tony Roma’s and the Island Paradise Café. The food and service in both restaurants were excellent.

My mom and I enjoyed our stay here and would probably consider staying here again if we didn’t have any offers for other hotels-casinos.

I was here on the 13th of Oct. Made a room reservation and asked if I can check in in the morning and they said fine. Got there and they told me that, this was only a request. Fine. They said wait until 11:30am. During that time I won $19 on a 25c machine and walked over to a change lady with the printed ticket and she just cashed someone elses printed ticket but requested me to go to the cashiers window. Keep in mind I'm still carrying my luggage. Walked over to the cashiers window but she was busy. So there was a change lady there right by the cashier window. I gave here my 19 buck ticket and she totally ignored me. Then the Cashier lady was tapping the counter like she was waiting for me. Chezzzzz.

Checked the room around 11:30 am went over to the players club to cash in some money they gave me to play with. Out of the last four times being here this time they photo copied my drivers license. BUT GET THIS.

The strange Players Club lady (Short Thai looking, 5'1", long black hair, cracky voice,) . She tells me to stand in front of here phone. "Can you stand in front of me right here because I need to make a phone call but didn't have the time all morning and I dont want the people to come while I'm making it." I know a bunch of bull!

Most likely to get a still picture from the black dome Casino Camera. Dont know why though!

I went to the room which was muggy around 75 degrees and thats with the air on high cool , plus on high fan.

So the room sucked and I felt guilty about the money they gave me. So I took there money to the FLAMINGO.

Better buffet for the money, excellant desert and because the LV strip feeds that place with traffic, it has a packed fun attmosphere.

OH YEAH When I checked out the next day someone made 2 calls from my room to verizon at 2pm the day I chekced in.

WRONG!!
1. I have SPRINT PCS
2. I was outside making a call at 2pm.
3. Someone came into my room and made 2 calls while I was outside the casino.

We tried the Stardust because we wanted an "old school" Vegas stay. I had read mixed comments from other reviewers. First the good, we got an early check in (11:30AM), which really suprised me and the desk clerk was very pleasant. So far so good.

Now the bad, when we got off the elevator on the 10th floor West Tower, the hallway smelled funny, kind of a mixture of room deodorizer and insecticide. When we got to the room, the smell was even stronger! The carpeting was badly worn and had several burn holes in it. The high point of the room was the bathroom, which looked newly remodeled. The rest of the room had definitely seen its better days. The bed sheets felt like sandpaper! We chose the West Tower room as it was supposed to be better than the older East Tower. If that's true, then I'd hate to see what the East Tower rooms looked like

The casino was OK, we've been in it before, but the cocktail service was near non-existant and none of the employees really looked like they wanted to be there. After a few hours of this, we said screw it and got a cab Downtown.

Stardust & Boyd Corporation- either put some money in this dump and fix it or implode it!!

Our third visit to Vegas this year. The Stardust never lets us down. For the price it is a fine hotel.Food is fine, rooms are clean, great sports book, wide variety of slots and most of the employees are doing a good job. We did have a run in with Dinah at the players club this time. As we walked up to the counter she slapped a "closed will reopen at 7 AM" sign in our face. I'm closed she curtly said. When I said we were checking out at 6 AM and wanted to get the cash due us from our players club card now she said sorry I close at 1 AM. But it is 7 minutes to 1, I said. She responded I,m closed! That is when I got the attention of everyone within a 100 foot radius. OK OK she said I'll help you. We will spend time at the Stardust again but I'm not sure how long Dinah will.

I checked into the Stardust on 9/13/2003 room11005. When I entered by room the carpet had just been shampooed and it was wet. I have a cronic lung discease therefore I had to sleep in the bathroom the first night due to my breathing problelms. I called front desk the next morning and was told to call house keeping. Housekeeping sent up a large fan the really helped but was very loud and I had to run it all day and night just to breath. I guess I would have died if it had not been for the fan. I have been coming to Las Vegas and staying at your hotel for the past ten years and this is the first time I have had this type problem. The thing I hated is that no one seemed to care. When I checked out I informed the girl on the desk about the room and it was like so what. To pay 125.00 for my first night and sleep in the bathroom is unheard of.
Please have housekeeping in form the front desk when they shampoo a room and not to admit guest until the smell is out of the room. I am planning my trip for next year I would love to stay at the Stardust but not under those conditions. Are these comments read and responded to or is this site just here for looks. Please respond. Arrived at Stardust 09/13/2003 for a six night stay. Room was in the West Tower
18th floor looking out at Circus and mountains. When we arrived on the floor the maid advised us that someone else was checked in the room. There were no belongings but someone had used the shower and bed after morning cleaning. Called the desk and they said it was our room , the maid cleaned it again and everything was fine the balance of the stay. Booked through Casino Marketing and got a $58.00 rate for Saturday and $38.00 for the other five nights. Room rates were high for the 13th as a fight was in town as well as a biker convention. Would rate the Stardust as average, not Bellagio but clean and generally ok. Slot point bonuses could be better. Found machines to be tight at times. Would recommned anyone staying here to book through Casino marketing. They are really nice people. Hotel not for kids. Cocktail service is good. Liked playing at Circus and Sam's Town better. Of course Stardust has the best Race and Sports Book in Las Vegas. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Buffett is ok, and priced about right. The 3.00 steak and lobster is optional and the steak is not huge , more like Ponderosa, and Lobter is small but good. again you are receiving fair value. My job requires failrly extensive travel so I spend significant time in hotels. I'd put Stardust in the upper middle end of the pack. Pleae feel free to e-mail specific questions.

We stayed at the Stardust on the weekend because it was pretty cheap and then moved down to the Luxor for the weekdays. We arrived around 9:30pm and had a speedy check-in. We got a room on the 23rd floor in the west tower and the room was nice, but it had not been cleaned. The beds were unmade, the previous occupant had left keycards and a mess on the desk and towels all over the bathroom. We called down to the front desk and they said they would have someone clean it and they gave us four free passes to the buffet. We went down to eat at the Coco Palms(?) buffet downstairs. yuck. But at least it passed the time. We went upstairs an hour later and the room still hadn't been made up, so we called down again and someone came to clean the room a short time later.
It was a rocky start, but after it was cleaned, the room was pleasant. It was a comfortable room, nothing fancy. a nice alternative for a weekend room at cheaper prices than the nicer hotels on the strip. we had a view of the interstate, circus circus and the stratosphere. I loved that there was a Walgreen's right across the street. We could get reasonably priced sundries 24 hours a day.
Since we moved down to the Luxor during the week, we took the weekend to explore the northern half of the strip and we made the trek up to Stratosphere... kind of scary north of Circus Circus. Take the bus or trolley (good luck finding the hidden trolley stops!).
We had no luck at the slots here, but the casino was nice enough and not too confusing. I think we would return if the price was right, but we know not to expect too much.

I've previously considered the Stardust to be a superb value for a Las Vegas vacation, but now I'm not so sure. I stayed at the hotel for two nights of my original five night reservation, but checked out and moved down the strip after being disappointed with the resort.

First, the hotel was not able to honor my request for an East Tower (the smaller, older tower) king room, so I was placed on the 22nd floor of the West Tower at the very other end of the hallway...the walk was incredible! I personally think that the front desk agent did it on purpose because I had pressed him to find me a place in the East Tower, consistent with my original reservation request. The room was modernly decorated, but on the small side.

The next day, I contacted the front desk to see if I could be moved, and after some checking, the agent said that she had been able to move me to an East Tower suite at no additional charge for the remainder of my stay. So, I gathered my bags and moved. I should have known that it was too good to be true, but realized it when I opened the door and just about fell on my face when tripping on a roll in the carpet in the entryway. The "suite" was an absolute dump! It was a step back to the Lefty Rosenthal days, with no improvement having been made in the 20 years since! They room had peeling wallpaper, old beat-up furniture, and a dusty artificial plant in the corner. I couldn't believe it! The adjoining sitting room was just as bad, with a dirty, stained couch and no light bulbs in the tableside lamps. The whole thing was like a bad dream...I have stayed in Super 8 Motels better than this!

Let me also say that my previous visits to the Stardust were positive, and my accommodations in the East Tower were wonderful...big, comfortable renovated rooms. This was just not the case this time! I was also disappointed in the casino atmosphere, which seemed depressed and lacking excitement. The buffet was also lackluster. The whole place has slipped, so I moved down to Bally's and was glad I did.

If the people from Boyd Gaming Corporation are reading this, please get your heads out of the sand and put a little more effort into this property. Don't tear it down...its not as bad as the Frontier...but dress it up, promote it, and make it viable.

Check in was easy. No lines. Just walked right up to the desk. We were given a standard king room in the Paradise Tower on the 20th floor. Nice room, though not completely remodeled, but clean. The bathroom looked to have been replaced with brand new fixtures, tub and tile. However, the carpet, furniture and bedspread still looked a little dated. The room had an excellent view of the pools, whirlpools and Strip. After being in the pool area and seeing the outside of the East tower rooms with the balconies overlooking the pool area, we would have preferred one of those rooms instead. Though our room had a Strip view, there's not much on the Strip in that area to look at anyway. One drawback is the location. You'll need a car or ride the bus to get down the Strip. Their is a bus stop in front of the Stardust and at the Frontier, but the bus would never stop. We've never encountered problems with the bus service on prior trips, so this was quite disappointing.

The Pool

The pool was excellent. A staff member will set up a chair for you where ever you like. The pool was heated and not crowded at all. The twin whirlpools were fantastic, and with nobody in them but us, it was even better. The larger pool by the villas was not even being used. We spent most of our day time at the pools. The only drawback is the bar connected to the pool area was closed our entire stay, so no drinks. I went inside once to another bar and got 2 pina colodas, but at $12 only did this once.

The Casino

Really enjoyed the smallness of the casino. We played mostly keno. They also have Keno video machines, which I won $25. There was a lady 2 seats down from me that won $1,100. They also had video pokers machines that let you double up. I've not seen these before and won $50 just doing the double up feature.

Very good value and would stay here again if needed during the summer time so we can use the pool without being crowded to death.

Stayed in a "West Tower Suite" and to say I was impressed is an understatement. I've had nicer suites overall (in size and newness of furniture, size of mini-bar,etc...), but the bathroom was absolutely remarkable (oversized whirlpool bath, duel headed seperate shower). Plus there is the added bonus of the coffee maker in the room! Heaven. I paid the same price for this suite as I would pay for a regular room anywhere else on the strip and had an awesome view of the south strip from the 24th floor without using the $20 trick. What really sold me on this resort is the customer service. You feel like somebody here, not just a number being herded through. Sure, there are "nicer places" to stay, if you want to spend an arm and a leg and be treated like dirt, but for value and service, this place is tops. Rental car is helpful due to location, unless you are willing to walk, use the bus or take a cab.

Very Bad Customer Service by a couple of the front desk staff. Seemed as if they were being bothered if you asked them a question. Lots of static, kept getting shocked everytime you touched metal. Their buffet really sucked big time. We were very disappointed. Room Service was great! Very prompt. Room clean and a great view but could not make up for the bad service by hotel people and the inconvenience of some of their hours. I thought Las Vegas was a 24 hour town? Apparently not at the Stardust! New to gambling, I did not know how to play Roulette which seemed to annoy the dealer. And I was the only one at the table! Really far from everything, had better time away from hotel. Tours of the strip and Grand Canyon with Coach USA were the highlights of my trip. Other hotels had more free entertainment than the Stardust and the help friendlier. I was recommended to this hotel if you only planned to sleep there and now I know what she meant. I loved Vegas and just got back yesterday after my first visit there and I am already planning my next trip there. Definitely not staying at the Stardust. Was not able to get my free coupon book till 3rd day there because of inconvenient hours. Other places within hotel closed for the same reason. We arrived on late on Monday night and could not get certain services or meals because they were closed on Tuesdays. Very inconvenient.

This was my third trip to vegas and the first time I has been to the stardust.
We decided to give it a go based on the decent weekend rate 90$ a night for the east tower. I was not expecting much, I knew it was an older hotel, and knew prices were lower than many other strip hotels for a reason. The room we booked was in their medium range , not as nice as the west tower but better than their villa rooms. the villa rooms were cheaper but I booked the east tower because i had read bad reviews about the villa and knew they were quite a walk from the front of the hotel. We arrived in the early evening on friday and there was no line for check in. Everything was fine until he gave us our room and we found that even though I had booked and paid for a room in the east tower he gave us a villa room. I was very angry and upset but managed to not lose my temper. After much arguing with the desk clerk he reluctantly put us in a tower room. When we got there the room was nice enough , but had two full beds instead of the king size we had requested. I didn't complain because i was still angry and didn't want to have anything further to do with the desk staff, but it was quite a disappointment. we were on vacation to celebrate my 30th birthday and I was looking forward to sleeping well in a roomy king size bed. the rooms were nice otherwise , but while showering the water would occasionally turn cold. The casino was old and tired and it quickly became a hassle having to walk/take the bus to get further down the strip. I would not stay at this property again. I was made to feel unwelcome from the beginning, and I think it's worth spending a little bit more to get a better location. If i wanted to stay in a budget hotel with subpar service i would at least pick one in the middle of the strip.

Stayed here Nov '99 and had a good time. Spent an afternoon gambling in here Sept '02 and fell in love all over again. I like this place 'cuz its NOT pretentious, it's easy to navigate, and easy parking in the rear off Industrial Rd. $5 minimums at most table games on a Friday afternoon made my visit affordable and enjoyable (and profitable too!) Good synergy btw the Stardust and Riviera across the street, both of which are older properties in the 3-star category. Good 24-hr restaurant at Stardust too.

We stayed at the Stardust because we were offered a great deal of $43 a night, plus we wanted to stay at one of the older hotels on the strip to try and get that old vegas feeling. It was my first time to Vegas and I would not have stayed anywhere else to begin with. The poker dealers are very down-to-earth and friendly as well as with other staff. We went in the pool after hours and got kicked out 10 minutes after we entered, however, the jacuzzi was 24 hours so we tried that. The only bad thing about our visit was the parking lot! The lighting in the parking lot was poorly lit and the parking posts had no reflectors--we ended up skidding the side of the passenger side doors. I think we could have a case but we're not the type to waste our time with the headaches for such a small thing. So be careful at night in the parking lot!!! Let's see... what else, oh yeah... the rooms were very nice but the carpet looked like it needed a vacuum. Other then that, our stay was positive. Just don't get drunk and gamble at the same time (they give LOTS of free cocktails if you are gambling)!!!

I complained about the card. They said they know that they don't work. Also, I had tickets to Wayne Newton and the stage broke. I was not given back my comps for the tickets. Maid service loud. tower was larger, but had no view, and had a strange odor about it. The
west room was smaller but very nice (and more expensive). We had a
nice view to the north, but were at the end of the hall, far from the elevator.
In both towers, we failed to get the room cool enough for our tastes.

A little out of the way. Only a 10 minute walk to Treasure Island. If you like to walk, you can walk to the heart of the strip in 30 minutes. Trams are also availble between several resorts to cut down on this time.

The hotel was above average for sleeping. Cliente tends to be older. No real hip things to see at resort. 2 small pools and spa.

we loved the "old style Vegas" feel of the place while benefitting from the
excellent accommodation and levels of comfort. the restaurants were good value
and the gaming floor was also good with a wide variety of ways to lose money !
while the location required a walk to the heart of the strip this didn't
spoil our enjoyment and the view we had of the strip from our 32nd floor room
was absouloutely superb..... we had a great time .... i highly recommend the
STARDUST !......viva las vegas !!!!!!!

This was my first time stepping foot in the stardust. This trip, I was looking for the old, 50's-60's felling (you know, the original oceans 11 feel). Well... most of that was covered over in the 80's, but a lot of it is still there.

The service at the front desk was great (speedy and friendly)
I was lucky enough to get the room I wanted, the old east tower 6th floor southern view. I was not disappointed. The room was decorated tastefully. The bathroom was laid out with two people in mind and although the fixtures need up dating, the bathroom was the 50's feeling I was after. I never waited more than 30 seconds for the elevator.

This is the only hotel on the strip with balconies (that I know of) and that is a great feature. Great view and a nice place to unwind.

The Jacuzzi is great. It has a hot waterfall and a great seat under it. It was almost as good as a $60 massage and it never closes. I was there at 3:00AM and the security guard walked by and said hi.

The buffet was, well how should I put this, it really, really sucked. Avoid the buffet at all costs. The buffet coupon (issued at check-in) can be redeemed in the cafe, it's worth $7.50. I highly recommend doing that.

The casino was just the right size and well laid out. The ventilation is adaquate. The slots were loose and I won about $400.00. The cocktail waitresses were always checking up on my drink status.

If you're looking for a flashy, pretentious, hip, gen-X place, this isn't it.
If you like walking about 43 miles to get a cup of coffee, the Stardust isn't for you. This resort is just right, not too big or too small. It's a little tired but overall, it's well maintained. There is an older (seasoned) clientele and the location has improved now that Wynn Las Vegas is nearby and soon the Frontier is blown up.

Besides the buffet, this was a great stay

Arrived late 1/24/02 and had no wait to check-in. Checked in with another couple and were given a room close by each other.

The room itself was clean enough, but reeked of stale smoke. Even being a smoker, I thought it was excessive, so I can imagine how the non-smokers would feel.

The casino is nice sized, but alas unlucky for me. However they do have a bunch of 9/6 quarter VP machines, but I didn't find any for $1.00.

Ate at the cafe once, food was over-cooked slightly but service was solid.

Overall, nothing too terrible to complain about but at the same time, nothing to rave about, although probably a pretty decent value ($40 including taxes for Thur-Fri night) all things considered.

We stayed at the Stardust in December of 2001. After having a horrible experience with our airline flight to Vegas, we finally arrived at the Stardust at 11:00pm and were greeted with a receptionist that told us our non-smoking room was not available. The receptionist told us that you are not guaranteed a non-smoking room when you make your reservation. Whats up with that? Was she looking for a tip? After standing and argueing with her for sometime, we finally were given the non-smoking room. We stayed a total of 4 nights and actually ended up enjoying our stay there. Our room was clean and modern and we never had to wait long for an elevator. The buffet was ok and the price was right! The casino needed more nickel machines that are not video. All in all, everyone in the casino seemed to be having a fun time. We would stay there again.

We first stayed here last year December 01. Enjoyed ourselves immensely. We especially liked the guard asking for our room key before entering the elevators at night--it made us feel very safe. I'm not sure if it was because of 9/11 but I do hope they continue this service. The buffet was good, although it would have been great to have crab legs. I especially liked the lounge area in the lobby--very relaxing because it is away from the machines. We rented a car and I do agree the parking lot could have better lighting. All in all, we had a great time and the staff was very friendly. We will stay there again.

NICE CLEAN ROOM AS USUAL..LOVE THE STARDUST AND HAVE STAYED THERE FOR TEN YEARS.
THE CASINO IS NOT AFRAID TO PAY A JACKPOT...AND DOES NOT TURN THEIR MACHINES
TO A LOWER PERCENTAGE IN TIMES OF CRISIS OR EXTENDED PERIODS LIKE SOME OF THE
NEWER PROPERTIES..SPORTS BOOK IS THE BEST IN HISTORY..OTHERS MAY BE MORE PLUSH
BUT THIS HAS MORE ATMOSPHERE FOR A SPORTS PURIST...GOT DON LARSEN, DUKE SNYDER
AND ROLLIE FINGERS IN 2001,,THE PLACE HAS CLASS AND TRADITION IN MY OPINION...
AND IS NOT CRAMPED WITH YOUTHFUL SPECTATORS WITH $20 IN THEIR POCKETS LIKE MOST
OF THE UPPER STRIP...EXCEPT FOR THE EL CORTEZ AND VEGAS CLUB DOWNTOWN I THINK
THAT THIS IS THE LOOSEST CASINO IN VEGAS...A MECCA FOR MIDDLE AGED GAMBLERS (40-60 YRS OLD) WITH A BUDGET OF $800-$2,000--YOU CAN DOUBLE YOUR MONEY IN FOUR
DAYS IF YOU PLAY SMART...ALTHOUGH IT HASNT "ALWAYS" HAPPENNED THAT WAY FOR ME..
THE FOOD AT THE BUFFET IS GOOD AND GET THE ORANGE GLAZED CHICKEN IN THE ALL
NIGHT CAFE FOR A SPECIAL TREAT....I WILL BE BACK IN MAY...JIMBO FROM ST LOUIS

got to stardust at 1 am, quick check in, room was comped. went with friend, wife doesn't like to fly. went to casino to play $25 black jack. went to bed at 5am $400 ahead. woke up at 9am had breakfast in island cafe. i love this place! i often eat breakfast and lunch here. for lunch i usually have a blt w/ potato salad. before i left, i had the steak and lobster. i figured the lobster would be ok and i'd throw away the steak. boy was i surprised! the steak was cooked the way i like it (rare) and really quite tasty. the lobster was good, and yes it was comped. any way, continued to play bj at the stardust, riv and cc and continued to win! had supper at tony romas. the last couple of times here i thought the quality had slipped, but this visit was outstanding. everything was good, as was the service. sat morning went to south strip. played at mb, nyny,
and cp. cp kicked my butt. went back to sd for a nap, then back at bj. sd continued to beat me up, as did riv and cc. at midnight, i decided to walk the strip. won a little at the venetian, lost it back at harrahs. went in the flamingo, and after about 2 hrs, was finally up pretty good. proceeded to paris, found a $25 table all to myself, and in about 20 minutes, won big. took a cab back to the sd at 4am and went to bed. decided not to gamble any more since we were leaving at 4:30 pm. but i had promissed myself to run $100 through the progressive slots one time. cashed out a $316 winner at the progressives. walked around the strip, and had lunch(comped) at kady's at the riv. not too good. left vegas up pretty good, made up for last time out. i planned to take most of the afternoons off from gambling, and spend some time at the pool and take naps. glad i did this, i think the time away from the tables made me sharper. i like to play at the sd, because you are not tripping over strollers and small kids, and most players here know how to play bj. i think that the stardust is a good value on the strip: the rooms are clean, the maid service is good and the restaurants ( with the exception of the buffet) are good. the pit personel are usually free with comps, so i rarely have to pay for a meal

I stayed at Stardust many times and am comped there quite a bit. Usually get 2 free nites per trip. I don't think the restaurants are all that not with the exception of William B's (the steak house -- but yu'll spend money there) I actually don;t think I've eaten at Tony Roma's though in all my visits. Older clientel, older casino but rooms are OK if not ostentatious. If you are not afraid of it, I love the 32 (top floor) facing the strip. What a beautiful view at night! Stay there while you can, I don;t think it's going to be around much longer.

If you are a smoker you will love this place. You can hardly breathe from the time you enter the front door. Rooms look like something from the late 1950's although they are not run down. The more expensive rooms are very nice, except in no place in this establishment will you ever feel that you are breathing smokefree air. It comes in through the air conditioning and by the time you leave your clothes will stink, even if you try to stay away from it. I have stayed here several times with conventions. There is only one good restaurant, Tres Lobos. The Stardust needs to enter the 21st century. Or even the 1990's.

We recently stayed 8 days at the Stardust and were satisified with the visit.
Upon a late night arrival we were upgraded to a Villa Suite. The room
temperature was cool and we had to call the front desk to fix the shower
(went from warm to very hot without warning). The room was very clean.
The problem was fixed without further problems. I would recommend the
breakfast buffet. No lines and the food was tasty with a lot to choose from.
I would definately stay at this property again.

OK I am mixed about the Stardust. Hubby and I stayed at the Stardust last year in March 01. We were expecting old Las Vegas charm from this old hotel, but it fell short. The rooms, while ok, were in need of remodelling and looked slightly out of date. While we had a non-smoking room, there was still a stale smoke smell to the room, which I didn't like at all. And, the comforter was in need of a good washing (I know hotels don't wash these for every customer, which is gross, but still, this one was long overdue...needless to say we didn't use it, yuck). In addition to this, the towels had an odd smell (old smell I suppose, I don't know for sure what it was) and the room's cooling system was not able to really "cool" the room too well.

Other than the room, the casino itself was very smoky and walking through it made hubby and I reek of stale smoke (blah). Also, we are a 20-something couple, and this hotel for the most part is filled with older folks (lots of senior citizens here). Not that this is a bad thing, but if you want to hang with a younger crowd, this isn't the place for you. It isn't the hippest place on the strip for sure.

The food at the hotel is subpar, and some of the worst we had during our 5 day stay. Also there is no parking garage, and it ia quite a walk most times to get to the car.

Good things about the hotel, are the location...being a hop, skip and a jump from other great hotels on the strip. Also we had a wonderful view on a very high floor of the Stardust, where we could look out of the huge windows and see the strip at night, in all it's neon glory. Beautiful!

I wouldn't stay here again.

The best way to sum up the Stardust in general is to quote Casino Boy from www.cheapovegas.com, who says, "My grandma thinks this place is groovy." While Grandma might feel this way, neither hubby or I did.

Have stayed at Stardust twice and will be back in May. Rooms are clean and comfortable. View of the strip from the 32nd floor is great, the wiew on the other side is not so good. After the first visit I recieved lots of offers via smail mail. (The web site needs an upgrade).
The casino has agood atmosphere with average slots but a wide verity. A nice upper aged crowd, fine with me. Not a lot of younger Yuppie types.
Service was good with fast check in. The buffet is not the best in LV but if it is comped it's not all that bad. Tony Romas is always worth a visit.
Overall a good place to stay and play. Some of the newer properties may have more glitter but you can have the higher prices and tighter slots.

Third visit, second review.

The great level of service by a seemingly happy staff keeps me coming back. They really know how to treat their guests.

I needed a (unheard of) room on a Saturday for one night only on a busy weekend on April 13. Every hotel even near the strip wanted $150+ and required a two-night minimum.

I had redeemed my first comp at the Stardust in March and only had 32 points left on my slot club card. I called and talked to a slot host about my request. She gave me a $68 casino rate, allow me to stay one night and will comp it, if I achieve 150 points.

I received a two-room suite in the old east tower which was a pleasant surprise. I was traveling with two friends and the living room was handy. I requested East Tower; I like the balconies and short elevator rides.

I also enjoyed the casino and gambled enough to earn my comp.

This is old Vegas service and it keeps me coming back.

The next two nights were at The Venetian, read about my ordeal.

Old school Vegas, never stayed there but a favorite to gamble and eat at. The most liberal drink service I've had on the strip (I two fisted it the entire time I was there), the dealers are relaxed and want to help you out. A tip at this hotel is very much appreciated and keeps them coming without being a high roller. One tip avoid the buffet and go to the coffee shop/cafe the prime rib or 1/4 chicken special are a way better value and yoou won't pay for it the next day
