Date Visited: 12/03 - Good Visit stayed in this hotel for three nights after thansgiving and got a rate of $119 trough the travel2vegas.com website posting. after saturday and check in took all of five minutes and the $20 trick worked. gorgeous room on the 26th floor with a strip view. room was large, i believe 650 square feet, two levels, two tv's, beautiful bathroom. maid service was great and requested and received turn down service. use the valet parking in the rear of the hotel, not in the front, this will save you time and effort in getting to your room. unfortunately, these rates are much, much higher in peak season, but the timing work for us. of course, the table minimums are really high, not many table minimums less than 15, 20 or $25. so you can always gamble elsewhere. but overall, a real great facility and the decor, shops, restaurants and of course the gondola ride are well worth giving this place a try if the price is right for you. <wmeier10 -at- hotmail.com> - Seaford NY USA - Added 12/03/03 - [152.163.252.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/03 - Bad Visit Myself and a friend from work,George, stayed here from 12/7/03 out on 12/11/03, the service here was horrible. 1:left the room 12/08 at 10;10 in the morning and the rooms across the haal and either sides of us were being cleand AND the maid saw us leave. 2: came back to the room at 3:40pm and the room wasn't made up.While in the room maid knocked and asked if we wanted the room made up.OF COURSE told her we'll be out in 15min. The rooms are beautiful but the service only so-so. I had booked Lord of the Dance tickets throught the Concierge a few weeks ago. Once we got there, I went to pick them up at the desk. After about 20 minutes of confusion the Concierge realized that the show had been cancelled. We were never notified. It sort of ruined the evening since we had booked dinner at a restaurant for 5:30 (way too early for us) in order to get to the show on time. We weren't able to change it. I asked the Concierge if there was anything they could do for us (I expected a comp) but she said it wasn't her fault and there was nothing she could do. I suspect it has something to do with getting the room off of Priceline. All in all, a beautiful resort. Service people are friendly for the most part. <kayzen7000 -at- hotmail.com> - USA - Added 12/29/03 - [67.164.25.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/03 - Good Visit We paid about $159/night for a luxury suite. We stayed for five nights. The room was fantastic; very big, clean, comfortable. There was plenty of space to relax. There were lots of comfy chairs and a large sofa bed. The bathroom was also very spacious, quite grand. Nice dressing table to do make-up. Provided all the usual amneties plus bathrobes, nail files etc. Unfortunately the fridge could not be used as it was full of mini bar food that would be charged if it was moved (sensor). However we asked for a fridge for our own drinks and snacks and they brought one quickly. Space was no problem. Upon arriving, there was a big queue at check-in which moved quickly. The staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. The bell boy explained everything about the room and hotel very thoroughly and informatively. There were many restaurants and we were spoilt for choice! We did eat at the Taqueria Canonita, the Mexican restaurant for dinner. It was not overly expensive and the food was delicious. They offered generous portions. In fact it was good value for money based on the quality, amount and service. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. There was however a long wait to get a table as it was busy, but we were dealt with efficiently. At the end of our meal the waitress explained that the manager would offer us a free dessert because of the "slow service" and apologised. Slow service? We hadn't noticed or complained about this, but accepted the free dessert. Very nice. We also ate at the Tintoretto Bakery for breakfast. Again good food and service for a reasonable price. The portions were enormous and we simply ordered three meals to share among four people. The shopping arcade was beautiful, by the canal. There were a large variety of upscale boutique and high end designers. There was nothing tacky or cheap about the Venetian. (as there was at many other hotels) I saw a few couples getting married on gondolas and they looked very happy. There was a lovely atmosphere at the grand canal. I don't gamble, but my mum said the blackjack was expensive... I didn't see the SIX swimming pools unfortunately. :( I hope to return again soon! It was definately one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at (and I've been to a lot of five star hotels!). It was almost comparable with some of the complete luxury hotels of Hong Kong. From what I saw of the other hotels on the Strip, the Venetian seemed far nicer and higher class than many of the others. I was very pleased with my choice. <razzledooda -at- hotmail.com> - UK - Added 01/03/04 - [81.130.170.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/03 - Good Visit We loved our first stay at the Venetian. We got a great players rate - $99 per nite during Xmas week and upgraded to a strip view for another $30. Highly recommend doing that if view means anything. Rooms are beautiful, meant a lot, as unfortunately my wife got the flu on first day and really appreciated the amenities while she rested and geared up as best she could. Great, I mean great, value at that price. I play mostly craps, and was able to find $5 tables a fair amount of the time, $10 otherwise. Other table games much higher, so played those at other locations. Casino host was fair with comps at the end of our visit. The service was excellent at pretty much every opportunity. There are amazing places to eat, or you can just bomg into the Grand Lux resturant 24X7 which has a great menu for a lot less dough. In short, we would stay here every visit, rate permitting. We have stayed at many properties on the strip at much lower rates, but will now always check with the Venetian before a final decision. One note , there were a lot of families during Xmas week and more children than usual Vegas visits. Easy to ignore given the great rate, service, and the most friendly (and easy on the eyes) cocktail waitresses on the strip. <kenboy755 -at- aol.com> - North Olmsted OH USA - Added 02/13/04 - [64.12.116.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/03 - Good Visit Visited 11/23/03 through 11/27/03. Got the room for $80 per night on Priceline. Check-in line was long, but moved rather quickly. Check-in time was three, but they let me check in at two o'clock. Person at desk was very friendly, and gave me a room with a view of the North Strip and the pools. Now, the North Strip is not really much to look at, but it was far superior to looking at a parking ramp or plumbing, and we could see the pirate battle at TI (though it was like looking at ants). Probably one of the best views available at this hotel. The hotel sent a bottle of champagne up our first night, free of charge. Nice touch. If you need a small fridge, they are available free of charge as well. Coffee makers cost 15 dollars--wish that was available at no charge as well. Room was in very nice condition, and quite large. Was nice to have the extra sitting area, to relax in after walking long hours during the day. Always feels more decent to be able to sit somewhere besides the bed. Bathroom is also very large, with all the usual free goodies, including the sewing kit, for those who keep track. Shower and a seperate tub are present, and the toilet is in a small separate room, for privacy. There also is a phone next to the toilet. The cocktail servers in the Casino are attentive, pretty, and wearing uniforms that are sure to please the men in your group. I would not hesitate to stay here again. <jrcc4 -at- eschelon.com> - Saint Paul MN USA - Added 12/01/03 - [64.65.136***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/03 - Good Visit OUTSTANDING Hotel. A bit pricey though. We stayed in the new Venezia Tower suite. We were double charged for our room, even though we prepaid our stay, the front desk insisted that we pay again. Hopefully this will be resolved in the near future. We tried a few restaurants while there and were we dissapointed. Zefferino is very expensive. After checking the wine list we opted for beer. The server was not nice. when the food arrived we could not find any salt to season the fish. I ended up actually going to the kitchen... If you pay over 30 dollars for each dish you should not have to do that. Anyway, even though the rooms were very nice the distance was sooo huge, it made everything very inconvenient. When we made our reservations we were given a choice a room with a view (for an extra charge), or a room without a view. We asked, and paid for, a room with a view. What we got was a view of roof tops, and a part of the strip that has no bright lights. The room was fairly large, but not as nice as rooms we have had in Caesar's and Bellagio. For $425.00 plus per night, we expected a better roomm with a great view. Also, the bathroom was fairly large, but the amenities were more like discount hotels, and the tub was not a Jacuzzi. Another complaint was the constant barrage of sales people who accosted us anytime we got off the elevator to visit the casino, shopping mall, or restaurants. They were extremely aggressive. After five nights in this hotel, we were sick of them. In conclusion, the Venetion is beautiful from the outside, but we did not care for the rooms or service. <cindynichols326 -at- cs.com> - Memphis TN USA - Added 10/27/03 - [205.188.208***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/03 - Good Visit Great hotel and facilities as well as entertainment. Madame Tussauds, although not owned by the Venetian, sells a package for all three at 39.95 a person which is a bargain for the adults! Had an incredible room rate through travelzoo.com Staff was extremely nice and respectful!!! If you appreciate class- stay here! If your tastes are "beer" shirts and base ball caps-suggest Circus-Circus. Shops and food are expensive, but if you are paying regular rates of #300 plus per night, it is to be expected. Was given a room with pool view as no king beds were ready yet at 2 pm. Staff still little confused on directions- if parking in garage- look for far elevators marked Venezia , short cut to garage is to take elevators between Venezia and Venetian towers to ground floor parking, then switch elevators back up to parking level you are on (ask security for help) Again, if you want to stay in hotel with "class"- this is it!!!!!!!!!!!!! <norskdog -at- aol.com> - Chatsworth CA United States - Added 08/07/03 - [205.188.208***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/03 - Good Visit This is my second visit to the hotel this year. The room was great, you didn't get a feeling that some creepy people stayed in the same bed like in some hotels. The clientele seemed upscale and required VIP treatment and they got it. I noticed a man ahead of me in the players club line giving the employee a hard time. She handled him professionally and with a VIP treatment he thought he deserved. She smiled and gave him her complete attention. I noticed this across the board, not just with us, but with everyone. They seemed to be attentive to the highest degree. We ate all our meals in the hotel. The Grand Lux restaurant had two lines, and a little confusion. The line says 5-7 minute wait, but our wait was a little longer. I could see empty tables, and this was the most negative thing about the hotel. I mentioned it to my waitress. Why do we have to wait when these tables are empty? Turns out they were smoking area, and most people preferred non smoking. Ok, but why not give us that option before we get to the front of the line? Anyway, she summonded the manager who came to our table and listened to the complaint. I really never expected this to be escalated and felt alittle embarrassed that I had mentioned it. But the waitress stressed that they want everyone to be pleased with their stay and visit. When we called for our luggage, he brought a door stop. Sure wish we could have had that while staying there. We had a wheelchair and the heavy door manipulation was a problem. He said we could have called the front desk, but we never even considered it. He said there were alot of little extras that we could have asked for. I lost at the slots, too. Didn't know they were bad payers. I should have read these entries before I got there. All in all, it was a great trip and I would go back and hope that the "slots" treat me better. <sandreilly -at- aol.com> - USA - Added 08/01/03 - [24.24.216.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/03 - Good Visit My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights..Check was easy and quick..having to walk thru casino with your luggage is not good.. While she was checking us in, she was on the phone for a while and told us she appreciates us waiting. We didn't mind as long as we have a room to sleep for the night. (It was 2AM). She told us that she was able to get us an upgrade to Piazza suite which is double the size of regular room. We were so excited. The room had double sided door instead of single one. When we opened it, there is a marble foyer and guests bath room on the side. Since there are so many tourists there, it's hard to find attentive service. The service in general was pretty good though. We also got married at the Venetian. The wedding was nice and everything went well. As for the communication with the wedding department, they had NO clue what they were doing. They weren't sure of how much we payed them and they screwed up all the flowers. Later on, they billed us 2x for the flowers. It seems as thought the hotel is so big that one department doesn't communicate with the other. As for the casino, it was really nice as expected and quite a pleasant time. I was very pleased with the service from the moment I was greated by the friendly valet staff until I checked out. During this trip were in our van with a rasied roof. I was pleased to learn that the valet parking was free and I did not have to park the van in a back parking lot far away. That has been my experience at other hotels. The front desk staff was friendly and fast. Our room was beautiful. We had a view of the mountains east of vegas. The bathroom had marble floors, counter tops and trim. It had an oversized bath tub and a glass shower next to the tub. The room had a large comfortable bed, a sunken living room with a soft sleeper and several comfortable chairs. The room was so large it even had two television sets. Another thing I liked about this Hotel is the in room safe is free of charge. I really hate when you stay at a nice HOtel and they nickel and dime you with extra charges here and there. That did not happen at the Venetian. We enjoyed the time we spent at the pool. The pool at teh Venetian is above the casio floor. I really like this planning. It is really nice to be able to access tha pool area with out having to walk across the casino floor in your swim suit like some other Hotels. I was suprised how many people brought theirkids wih them. This was evedent in the pool area. There is more then one pool at the Venetian. On the day of our visit families were at the NOrth pool. I did not see any signs it just kinda worked out that way. The closest thing I would have to a complaint is acctually a warning. The items in the refirgerator have sensors on them. If you remove them your room will be charged automatically. One of my kids picked up a disposable camera and some candy. We replaced the items and one call to the front desk corrected the issue. Very nice rooms. Very large and beautiful bathrooms. Staff was very accomodating. Stayed for 3 nights. The first night we checked in, everything went quick! Nice valet parking. We were up to our rooms within 20 minutes of arrival. They tried to get us to upgrade to a room with a strip view for an extra $35 a night. We declined. I'm almost sorry I did, because when we got to our room we had this great view of....a parking garage! :( To top it it off, we were woken up the next morning at 6am by the sound of hammering and construction. This lasted for 2 hours! (They're adding some more floors to the parking garage) I went to the lobby and asked to be moved and they were more than happy to accommodate me. They put us up in a a room with a view of the pool and strip for no extra charge. Pool area is a little lacking for a hotel of this quality but should not prevent you from staying. The all suite rooms are very luxurious. When we checked in I asked what my choices were for rooms mentioning that I'd like high. The clerk was very nice and said that there were rooms available but if I wanted a high view I had to wait until 5:30 for one to be cleaned. We waited and had room 23-234 with a view of the golf course(which you can barely see) and the mountains. After I saw the room it wouldn't have mattered if I had a view or not. The living room area is large and the bathroom is a minisuite in itself. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. It was the cleanest room I have ever booked. It is just like the pictures on their web site. The room is very luxurious and extremely quiet. The rooms (all huge suites) were luxurious and spacious - I was bowled over. If you want luxury, you get it at the Venetian. The service is impeccable. While waiting in the (short) line to check in, my boyfriend and I were offered (free) drinks or bottled water. Upon checking in, we were upgraded (for free) to a suite on one of the highest floors, with a fantastic view of the strip. The suites are extremely spacious. Upon entering, there is a marble-laden hallway with a large table and mirror. The bathrooms are enormous!!! His and her sinks, an etched glass shower, and a separate large soaking tub, along with a makeup table, all dripping in marble with gold accents. There is a separate water closet with the toilet and a phone! In all honesty, the bathroom alone is bigger than some hotel rooms I have stayed in in Vegas. The sleeping area had a king size bed, with a lamp on either side, and two reading lights in the ceiling. The bed was very comfortable, although I have to say that the pillows were extremely flat and lifeless. My neck was sore the first few days after waking up. Inside an armoire is a large 27" television, and the closet was spacious and lighted, with mirrored doors. The sleeping area is separated from the sunken living area by a wrought iron railing. Stepping down the carpeted steps into the living area, there was enough room for a good sized table and two chairs (all Thomasville furniture, by the way, high class stuff), a sofa, a love seat, a large 27" television, an armoire,a workdesk with phones and dataports, and a mini bar, along with a few tables and lamps thrown in for good measure. I know this sounds like a ton of furniture, but it was all spaced out, and the living area was very roomy, not the least bit cramped (I am telling you ladies and gentlemen, the suites are HUGE!). To top it all off, there was a huge window with a fantastic view of the strip. We ordered room service, and it was right on time (if they tell you 30 minutes, it will be there in 29). To our surprise, the waiter laid out the table in the sitting room with a linen cloth, fine silverware, the works. The service was very attentive and extremely friendly. If you enjoy having people kiss your butt, this is the place to stay. Just a few side notes, since people reading this review probably care about the practical side of the room as well as the whole "experience", the water pressure is very low in the shower, room temperature extremely easy to control, beds comfortable but pillows flat, and service excellent. Overall, a great place to stay if you want to really get away and revel in the lap of luxury, but if you are budget minded, may be a bit expensive. You definetely get your money's worth. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The beautiful room and the great housekeeping service do not make up for the rude and inept front desk staff and through what they put me. I checked in on Sunday for two nights. I was to have a room at a casino rate of $99 (slot club thing) with a possible upgrade to comp if I gamble more (heaps) in their ultra-tight casino. I expected to pay the $99 Upon check in, the clerk informed me that the room was comp and that he needed a $200 security deposit to cover expenses. I obliged. (I figured they made an error in my favor). I also had a credit card on file. Well, I didn't gamble very much at the Venetian. Went out and about during this trip. The first night was great (but, the sheets on the bed were rough on the skin). Second day, enjoyed breakfast in the cafe and went out for the day (dust storm and all). Got back late (about 3:AM), exhausted. Long walk in the garage, from the garage elevator to the rooms elevator, and again to the (almost end of the hall) room, to find that my key didn't work. Now, I'm sure you know the feeling...the closer you get to the room, the more your body is ready for bed. Well...back down the long hallway to find a house phone. Called the desk. Was informed that my presence was required at the desk before the room could be unlocked. I told them I would appreciate being let back in and would like to handle it in the morning...they insisted I come down. (Did I mention that the desk is about 17 miles from the elevator? I arrived at the desk and waited while two clerks ignored me and third was busy with a guest. In short, (to spare you all the details) they informed me that I was downgraded to a $99 casino rate and that my credit card didn't go through. I presented the card again and like magic, it went through. Hmmmmm... maybe they should've checked it twice before LOCKING ME OUT!!! Or, maybe, charging me for the room at check in and reimburse me if I loose enough money in their STUPID CASINO!!! Sorry, didn't mean to sound like Regis. The supervisor acted like a bloomin' robot throughout the entire conversation. She did not give me new keys; rather "we'll have them sent up right away". After another 17-mile hike through this place, I met the security guard who let me in my room, but did not have any keys. He said, "We'll have them sent up right away". I really really wanted to sleep and stayed dressed and exhausted waiting 25 minutes for the f*@!&$#g keys. Got to bed at 4:45 (I know it's Vegas but I had to drive back to LA later that morning) After a nap (had to get up by check out time) I called the desk and asked for the rooms division manager. They needed my story before transferring me to the next level. It took two transfers (yep that's three story tellings) to get to the top. She was a nice robot and comped the room. Well, that's just a little too much to go through for me. This is a cool resort with much to see and I will most probably "visit" it again. When we got there, a freindly bellman loaded up a cart and took us inside, where he dealt us of to another man who promised he would look after our stuff at the baggage desk while we checked in. Thirty minutes later, we came back to where he was supposed to be, and found nobody looking afer our luggage which was a good 15-20 feet from the baggage desk. We decided to take it to our rooms ourselves, and were surprised when no one even noticed we were dragging off this baggage cart loaded with at least 15 bags! When we got to our gigantic rooms we discovered that there were some momentos left for us by the people who stayed there the night before. Melted, dirty water in the ice bucket, and used soap and washclothes and shower mats in the bathroom. we called the housekeeping and informed them of this, but they seemed to not be to worried as the dirty water was still there when we checked out three days later. The next night, my wife had run back up to the room to grab the camera when she discovered our room door was open. The housekeeper had left the deadbolt on after she had cleaned the room, and who knew how long the door had been like this. She found nothing weird about the room, but called the housekeeping department just to be safe. We never heard from anyone about this again. On our last night, my wife returned to the room again to find a baggage cart full of luggage sitting in the middle of our room. We were amazed that whoever had brought this cart up had not realized that the room was already occupied1 This is what he does for a living afterall. She called the frontdesk and they came and got the bags. (I hope they finally got to the right room.) When we were going to leave the hotel, we called for a bellman to come up. My wife expressed concern for our bags because of our first habd experience of their talents, and the bellman started spouting off something about how "this isn't the motel 6 mam, we do it right" and some other rude things. Overall, the hotel was unbelievable, but the staff seemed to be a bunch of rookies with little patience for the customer. By the way, we had to remind the man at the checkin desk to give us our free dinner voucher, and after some confusion over my credit card, I forgot to mention the spa credit, and so did he, so we never got to use that part of it. Restaurants were good, especially Grand Lux, but it was kind of pricey for diner food. Postrio was excellent, but still $75 with tip AFTER our 2-for-1 certificate. Beautiful hotel to say the least, but this can be seen by spending a couple of hours there. Rooms are awesome, but in Vegas, do you really need to 27 inch TV's and a den? Stay here if your loaded, or if you get a smoking deal over the net like we did. <stevendmiller -at- yahoo.com> - Farmington NM USA - Added 02/09/02 - [216.193.2***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/02 - Good Visit Great place. Never stayed at a better place. Got some good rates in January. If you can stay here during the off season it is well worth the money. Rooms are incredible and the service is second to none! Didn't eat in the restaurants. <cliff_clark -at- yahoo.com> - San Jose CA USA - Added 02/19/02 - [12.64.66.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/01 - Good Visit Wow! Fantastic rooms and very spacious, beautiful baths. The casino is huge, lots of variety, and the payout not too bad. Good variety of restaurants. The Grand Lux Cafe is really nice, not too expensive, and the service was great. However, unless I had received a special promotional room rate, I probably would not have stayed at the Venetian - too expensive! They've just got to come down on their rates if I'm going to stay there again. It's really a nice place to stay, but I'd rather put my money into the casino, where I'm going in the first place to have fun! <gwoodall -at- srv.net> - Idaho Falls ID USA - Added 01/02/02 - [198.60.99.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/01 - Good Visit I stayed at the Venetian for New Year's 2002. I felt I had reiterate what a great property this is. Check in was very prompt and efficent. Also, the lobby is a knockout piece of architecture that really draws your attention from the moment that enter the hotel. The attention to detail in this hotel is absolutely wonderful. The hand-painted ceilings and the Murano chandliers say class. Also the property is in a wonderful location, right across from the Mirage. I stayed in a Prima Piazza Suite. This was a major step up from the regular room. It was 1,600 square feet and had a fully stocked bar, two bathrooms, four televisions, a monsterous bathroom and a knockout view of the strip. I was on the 35th floor. The casino is very nice, however, the Bellagio's is the classier of the two. The service is unbelievable. I called and asked for some extra towels. About two minutes after I recieved them, I got a call from the front desk asking me if the towels arrived in a timely fashion. That's service. Even the pool attendents go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. The service and the beautiful room are what are going to keep me coming back and back to the Venetian. This casino is simply the finest Las Vegas has to offer. <alma -at- irtc.net> - USA - Added 01/16/02 - [65.113.254***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/01 - Good Visit We received an e-mail offer from the Venetian post 9-11 and it was too good to turn down. We usually go to Las Vegas in early December so we booked for the third time at the Venetian. We like the large rooms, with the living room arrangement a bit separate plus the service is great. The restaurants and room service are excellent and the casino, for the first time, was generous to me. My husband likes the pool/hot spa area. This is a glorious property, a feast for the eyes. If you like paintings, the Hermitage collection is a bargain and a wonderful treat. Mr. Adelson, you are a genius. Airport security was not that lengthy and quite reassuring. We flew in with a bunch of rodeo guys from Texas. Everyone was looking forward to a great week and it was great to get to the Venetian and walk down that wonderful domed corridor with the beautiful ceiling plus the fabulous Christmas decor. A budget note - there are some weeks when the usual rates drop substantially in Las Vegas. If you can schedule travel during those times, you not only save on the hotel cost, but you don't have to fight large crowds or conventions. <ming -at- cox-internet.com> - Mineola TX USA - Added 03/09/02 - [66.76.55.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/01 - Good Visit My boyfriend and I stayed for several days at the Venetian, and we had a wonderful time. It has to be the most beautiful place that I have ever stayed at in Vegas. No complaints. <Tigerlily343 -at- msn.com> - CA USA - Added 12/12/02 - [63.233.90***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/01 - Undecided I liked the amazing shops and the room. THIS IS NOT A KID FRIENDLY PLACE. Only stay here if you have no kids. We had to walk through the casino to get to our room and we were told by every security to get our kids out of there NOW. THAT WAS NOT NICE. Make sure you kids are also out of arms way of the mimi fridge in your foom. One of ours picked up a snickers and put it back, well when we went to check out they said we had a extra room charge of $4.25 for the snickers. Dont get charged for that snickers you did not eat. Because they will try! Also on the internet it says all rooms have a sunk in living room. WRONG. Also Make sure you dont get a back room we were facing the new grage they were building so we were cheeted out of a great view. <TRSBEAR -at- msn.com> - Denver CO USA - Added 04/21/02 - [67.234.211.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 11/01 - Bad Visit This is a beautiful hotel, although I don't feel it is as refined as the bellagio. It is lacking in warmth and character. The layout can be confusing at times, too. I don't recommend this hotel because the staff was not very helpful in any situation. We were met with a series of staff disappointments during our stay. The biggest problem we had was a $$ situation, and simply put, we felt we paid too much. There was also a rental car scuffle, where they offered a $30 car...then when we got down to the desk the only had a $55 car, but after I threw a fit suddenly a $30 car became available. Sound fishy? On our last nite, we received a $15 comp for a restaurant. When we went to use it, the comp was denied. It took them 40 minutes to resolve the problem, speaking to manager after manager. It was only $15 for heaven's sake!!!!! If this casino is that cheap, after you have played hundreds on their tables...well let's just say I won't be putting my money back there any time soon. <joeyjomazz -at- aol.com> - Williamstown NJ USA - Added 07/17/02 - [206.208.110.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/01 - Good Visit The Venetian is a beautiful Hotel & can't say enough about the rooms. The size & ammenities were impressive. The bathroom has a double sink so while hubby shaved I could brush teeth...also liked the separate shower & of course really like the privacy of the commode behind a door of its own. Only disappointment was the makeup mirror....light was awful, but everything else about room was great. Was not impressed with check-in, man behind the counter was quite rude & very curt, not overly impressed with pool area but then we are not really into pools. Would definitely stay at the Venetian again & would highly recommend a stay there to anyone. <Mintea4312 -at- aol.com> - PA USA - Added 06/18/02 - [205.188.200***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 07/01 - Undecided Nice place to visit and walk around but a terrible place to gamble. Machines are sooooo tight they sqweek. If you want a drink while you are playing-forget it. Nice eye candy but for me Ill play downtown or a locals casino. If you want to be seen this is the place for you-otherwise not a place to risk your hard earned money. Do see the wax museum it is quite impresive! <luca0428 -at- earthlink.net> - USA - Added 02/07/02 - [63.49.139***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/01 - Good Visit My wife and I stayed here for one night (our honeymoon night).
