I love the western. who stays in their room in vegas anyway.
why not stay here & enjoy your money gambling?!?

This was my 5th trip to downtown Vegas in 5 years.
I never vetured off the beat'n path before.
My family was at the Golden Nugget taking in the rays at the pool.
And I was off to the El Cortez, Lady Luck, Gold Spike and Western.
Per my regular readings of http://www.CheapoVegas.com (I love this site and trip reports).
The western is a Jackie Gaugnhan property which is for the small time gambler.
Such as myself. I enjoyed $2 blackjack, for many hours with only $20 to start.
Yes I walked away the first time up $15 for the day. But returned the next day to give some back $10. Still up $5 for the trip.
I have to say the Western is a nice place to visit in the day time. I haven't tried this hotel/casino at night. But expect exactly what is written by all the locals and travelers of this site.
All employees were very friendly to me, also were helpful explaining what Royal Match was. Even the pit boss chimmed in to explain since I didn't understand what the dealer was trying to tell me.
The pit boss explained it was a fun side bet. And Yep I played about a dozen times, and lost about 8 out of 12. But I enjoyed it anyway.
(I did take my wife the next day, we had a guy yell to a bunch of others, "You got my 1/4 ounce!" I assume he was talking about drugs and my wife gave me that look like we are about to die. And we just laughed after we passed them for about a block.
Don't let this stear you away, great fun and gaming at the Western, Just use good judgement and common sense while out there.
