Since I knew ahead of time that the rooms were pretty small, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the size of my room. Front desk staff was super-nice, but there was a bit of a snag because the special Internet rate I had booked was nowhere to be found in their system. I'm sure they would have ended up honoring the rate regardless, but it was helpful to have a printout of my reservation confirmation from the Starwood site. The decor of the room is downright snappy, with a blend of sage green, white, aluminum trim, and cherry wood finishes. As advertised, the "Heavenly Bed" is wonderfully comfortable. Once you plop in, you never want to get out. The only other glitches were problems with the elevators -- it took so long to get downstairs a couple of mornings that some folks actually took the stairs, even with all their luggage -- and a rather new casino staff, who miscounted my jackpot payout. The error was rectified quickly, but it was a sign of the newbie growing pains that this recently opened Westin is experiencing. All in all, a very nice stay at this property. Mind you, I say that mostly because I paid a delightful rate of $48/night. If I had paid the $279 rack rate, I'd be singing a very different tune.

Surprisingly unimpressive for Westin, rather average overall. First visit to Las Vegas and I hadn't stayed at a Westin since they brought out the 'Heavenly Bed' and 'Heavenly Bath', so since it was reasonably located near the Strip we took the chance to get reaquainted and try the new features out. Both bed and bath were comfortable but hardly spectacular - nice linen, towels and bath amenities, only one robe for two guests. Housekeeping was fairly good, left fresh towels on everyday except one even though we had hung them up on the towel rack to indicate we would reuse them. After reading other ratelasvegas.com reviews that leaving a couple of dollars each day was pretty standard we did so, for some reason housekeeping didn't take it. Room size was large enough for the King bed, two easy chairs and one ottoman, desk, side table, dresser with TV (which wouldn't rotate to face second chair), much the same as one might find at any of the standard hotel chains. We didn't even open the overpriced mini-bar. Seems they only had a buffet at breakfast, also overpriced at $10 for continental, $15 for full American. Lunch and Dinner menu was pricey; there were a couple of good quality buffets within a 5 minute walk that we opted for as a better value. Room was on a non-smoking floor but each time we entered it smelled like it had been smoked in. Drink glasses and room service dishes collected in the hall over the weekend before they were removed on the Monday. Came back to the room about 1AM one night to find someone asleep at the end of the corridor – uncontrolled access to room levels – security responded within 10 minutes to make a rather loud rousting of the apparently intoxicated non-guest. Casino was pretty empty all the time, making cocktail service prompt and friendly. Slot payouts didn't seem any better or worse than anywhere else but we only spent a couple of hours there. Parking was free, ample and well lighted. Free in-room safe. The US$48 internet rate we got made our stay worthwhile, even though we could have paid a few $ less elsewhere. I might stay again if I could get a similar rate, although I just might go one of the bigger places for the experience.

The room was gorgeous, the staff was super-friendly and efficient. The bed, the furniture, and the "heavenly bath," with dual-head shower were all incredible. Overall, a really great experience. I rate the casino only a 6, simply because the options are limited. However, the service in the casino was superb, and drinks were served almost instantly, and I was there during the busy Xmas/New Year's holiday. There is nothing I regret about staying at the Westin, and I will stay again in a heartbeat. It is a really nice "escape" from the Strip, while being literally around the corner from Paris, Bellagio, and Ceasars. Excellent!

My wife and I did not stay here,we only played slots.A floor manager named Chris treated us like quests that stayed there. He gave us free David Brenner show tickets, went and got slot cards while we played machines, was Johnny on the spot to pay for a machine we hit on.The only negitive thing was the show was cancelled because Mr. Brenner was ill.Management offered another night for show but we where leaving for home the next day.We may stay there sometime in future.
