Stayed on 12/23/03 for 1 night. Found rate of $21 + 9% tax via Travelaxe. Check-in was quick since we didn't arrive until 9:30 pm. Check out took about 10 minutes because there was a line at noon. Room was nice and quite large. Bathroom had small window (no fan). Bathroom door was a pocket door. No division between shower/toilet and sink area. (i.e. Not possible for one person to do their business and someone else to brush their teeth since they're connected.) Toiletries (mouthwash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, oatmeal soap), hairdryer, iron/ironing board, radio alarm clock. Digital temperature control. We ate at their French Market buffet for lunch. Okay food (not great). Would definitely visit the Orleans again if the price were right.

The Orleans Hotel and Casino was a lot nicer than I thought it would be. The room was very clean, and the beds were really comfy. The bathroom was brass and marble and also very clean. We ate at the Mexican restaurant and the coffee shop, both were good. I only have a couple of compaints. We went bowling and the guy running the desk was a JERK! I don't know what his problem was, but the service sucked. There were also a bunch of little kids running around drinking beer. They looked like they could be 15 at most. The casino also has really bad ventilation. The smoke made both my friend and I sick. Other than the risk of lung cancer, bronchitis, sinusitis, etc. I would stay here again. I just go to the Monte Carlo to play the slots. The ventilation there is awesome. Odorless.

Our stay at the Orleans was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean. The restaurants were very good. Took the shuttle to the strip one night and it worked out very well.
Did not see a lot of kids running around.
The bathroom is great. A phone next to the toilet. And the shower is so quiet that my husband could get up, take a shower, and not disturb me, and go lose more money.

Just returned from the Orleans , had a 9 day stay , the hotel is nice and above average I would say , the coffe shops / resturants are to exspensive for my taste
the buffet again was above average and priced right I thought ,It seemed they offered no free buffet or resturant visit for guest's (most I have stayed at did)
unless you play slots for hours, after 9 days (and free points) I still didnt have enough points for a free buffet (3872 pts ) and it required 4000 , check out Arizona Charlies cafe the specials are great value and good eats !

Stayed 3 nights November 23, 24 & 25. Check in took maybe 2 minutes. We were given a room facing the strip King Bed, non smoking. Nice sized room and bathroom in rear of room, different. I wouldn't pay extra for a strip view because they shine lights up from the parking lot to light up the building, problem is it puts a glare on the window cutting down your view dramaticly. Be forwarned if you travel with children the coctail waitress outfits have thong bottoms, very sexy! Dealers and waitresses were very friendly and I was never without a drink. Ate at the buffet for lunch, best $7.00 buffet in Las Vegas. Graveyard specials in cafe are good and afforable .99 to $1.95, service was slow everyday. I lost money in their very smokey casino, I never felt lucky here. Total bill for 3 nights was $54.00, what a value. Ice cream shop was a real treat.

Everything in this hotel is huge, I stayed at Sahara and the place was so aweful that i checked out and moved to Orleans. I was shocked when i walked in to my room, The room was huge and extremely clean. there was a huge TV that had internet access. I had the view of the pool and the fountain and it was beautiful. I am coming back to this hotel for the New year.BY the way hostesses wear thongs so if you have kids .....!
I tried their buffet and was very dissapointed, for a place that claims to copy New Orleans you figure they have cajon food but there was absolutely nothing there except for 1 tray of crawfish and the rest of the food was junk!
Other than that the hotel was perfect.

I chose this hotel because of the reports on this site. I was not disappointed. What really stuck out was how nice the employees were. Everyone was really helpful and friendly, unlike many strip casinos. I thought it was cool that the horse races were shown on the tv in your room. I'd get a racing form, pick some races and go downstairs and bet and come up and watch the races. They have a liquor store inside with normal prices. Also, the newstand sodas were only $1 unlike strip casinos where you pay "airport" prices. Nice hotel and one that I will stay at again. Went to the Bellagio for the football games (best sportsbook ever) and took the shuttle from Barbary Coast back the Orleans with no trouble. Try this hotel - you will like it!

Very nice sized rooms. The casino, hotel, and restaurant staff are very helpful and courteous. Orleans is just a short distance from the Strip if you need your "fix" on going to the Strip. However, the many conveniences here will outweigh your need to be a tourist. Decent sports/race book, plenty of bars/pubs and restaurants. This porperty is well laid out and easy to negotiate. I can't say enough good things about this place. I have previously stayed on the Strip and Downtown but will probably return to the Orleans because it is easy to feel comfortable here.

Stayed for a week with our kids. The rooms were great, as was the service. Valets were always quick and friendly. The buffet was pretty good. The kids loved having Subway inside the hotel. The bowling alley and arcade were also big hits with the kids. The shuttle ran to the strip until midnight every day, which was a nice convenience. We would definately stay again if traveling with our kids. If traveling without them I would recommend staying somewhere on the central strip (Harrah's or Imperial Palace) since they both have about the same room rates and a great location.

We have been going to Las Vegas for 20 years on business. Our last visit was in August 2003. Although we are very familiar with the hotels in Vegas, before this last trip, I took the time to do a lot of on line research, and decided after my research to give The Orleans Hotel Casino a try. We couldn’t have been more pleased. HUGE room, friendly service, great food, and very helpful hotel personnel.

We have to attend a convention in Las Vegas again this March, 2004, and for the first time in 20 years, we are going to return to a hotel because it was such a delight, so reasonably priced, the rooms so clean, comfortable, they even had On Line Access, which we need from time to time. We normally book through Expedia, and we will be going back to The Orleans Hotel Casino, and unless things greatly change, we will continue to stay at The Orleans Hotel Casino in the future.

The location of the rooms in relationship to the in house restaurants is convenient, not like some of the strip hotels where you have to walk a mile through the casino to get a cup of coffee. There are security guards at the elevator entrances, who are both watchful, and very friendly. The Orleans Hotel Casino is the best-kept secret in Las Vegas.

We normally ate at their French Market Buffet, and it offered great variety, and quality food.

Once again had a great stay at The Orleans. Stayed for eight nights from 7/4 to 7/12. Everyone at The Orleans tries to bend over backward to make your stay enjoyable from check in to check out. Slot variety has improved since last stay, but video poker has downgraded somewhat. Overall, another great stay and will return in December.

This was our first time at the Orleans, and it won't be our last. Check in was fast an friendly. I asked for a room high up facing strip ,no problem, the desk clerk was happy to accomodate us. We got the 18th floor, what a view!!!The rooms were big and very clean. The food was very good , especially "Big Al's" ..The Casino was big and the slots were a little generous to us. The pool and spa were very nice. If I have to point out a down side at the Orleans, there were a lot of kids, don't mind kids at all, I mind that there parents let them run wild without supervision. But,that aside, this Casino offers just about everything, even a shuttle service to the Strip. Overall, I recommend this place highly over the Strip, they really try hard to make your visit a good experience.

This hotel is a jewel, great buffet nice friendly staff. The rooms are very clean, maid service was prompt and effiecent. The hotel was very clean over all. The casino was nice and clean but if you want to win money you need to gamble downtown or at some of the smaller casinos. The resturants were nice and clean with pretty good food. If you compare food to others you would have to pay a lot more to get the same quality, its not a 5 star place to eat but familys will be more than pleased with the selection quality and presentation. This hotel has all that a family could look for with a reasonable budget for an all in one vacation.

Had a great time at the Oleans. Found a great price that allowed us to get two rooms for the price of one on the strip. Fantastic rooms, great service and friendly staff from check-in to check-out. We used the shuttle two of the days which got us into the middle of the strip. The food is very good in the restaurants and the seafood in the buffet is excellent. Had a great time playing the Munsters penny slots. Will definately visit the Orleans next time.

Stayed at the Orleans from 6/25 - 6/28/03 the rooms were as nice as any hotel that I have stayed at in Las Vegas, the staff was very friendly, the property was generally very clean. The nice thing about staying at a property off strip like the Orleans is that you don't feel herded like you do when you stay in one of the mega resorts. No long lines at check in, no extremely long walk from your car to the hotel, no extremely long walk from the casino to the hotel room. This definately makes your Las Vegas trip a great experience.

Played in the casino, lots of ticket in / ticket out slot machines, saves you lots of time when you cash out. Cocktail service was very good, the waitresses were very friendly, I even requested a drink that the bartender did not know and the waitress came back and asked me what was in the drink, she later came back with the drink mixed perfectly, then she came back with another drink the bartender made up for me and thought I would like (it was even better than the drink I requested), it was that kind of added touch that makes a good vacation a great vacation.

This is one of the few Las Vegas hotels that I would stay at again

Stayed here 4 years ago. Except for the new room tower/arena/parking garage nothing seemed to change. Clean property, period, well kept food concessions(Coast buffets always a great value),friendly staff, good shuttles to the strip, casino cocktail waitresses(oh,yeah!), price/value,etc. etc.....You get the idea.

We did a lot of research to look at visitor comments. This was our first visit and will not be our last. Vegas is good for about four days and all four could be spent here. The food was good , the service too. The staff(check-in,change,dealers,waitresses) all had good attitudes. Two dollar craps tables, three dollar blackjack, higher limits if you want. Even the shuttle to the strip over the Memorial holiday wasn't too bad with the heavy traffic. Overall a VERY pleasant experience and looking forward to going back in the near future. Its all a matter of expectations. Ours were high and they were exceeded.

A great facility. No problem with check-in, room was what was reserved, very nice, large, and I liked the fact that the bathroom was NOT the first thing you saw when you entered the room. Food and service were good at the coffee shop (never got a chance to try the buffet). Good funbook and very nicely outfitted cocktail servers. They came around often. Slots, however, were almost non-existent, mostly VP and not very loose, but the deuces wild machines paid OK. The slot club is different in that you are given points only when you win, but with the free 1000 points to new sign-ups and some small wins it's not too hard to score free food. We would definitely stay here again, but the distance from the Strip can be a problem. The hotel shuttle is very crowded and no guarantee that you will get on. We had to take a few cabs to guarantee showtime arrival at some Strip casinos. And there is no hotel shuttle to the north Strip. If it's over 100 degrees, just stay in the hotel(they have a movie complex, bowling alley, etc. Hmm, maybe they don't want you to leave?) The walk back from wherever you are to the Barbary Coast (the Strip pick up for the Orleans shuttle) can be a killer.

We visited the Orleans Hotel/Casino just before Memorial Day and again we were very impressed with the rooms and service (we had stayed in this hotel a few years ago, with similar results). During our stay we ate at the French Market Buffet, which was very good (much better than the other buffets we ate at on the strip). The staff (check-in, change, dealers, waitresses) all had great attitudes. In addition, the valet service was very convenient and the valet staff was very pleasant (even though it was very busy). We didn't mind that it wasn't on the strip because it was easy to get to the strip if we wanted to (taxi, shuttle, etc.) If we had to pick a downside it was the overabundance of Video Poker machines -- we really prefer the regular slot machines such as Reel Them In, Wheel of Fortune, etc. Overall an extremely pleasant experience and we are looking forward to going back in the near future.

Visited with wife and daughter(5 yrs.) and had a great time---my second stay. Got upgraded to strip view without asking and saw the Barnum & Bailey's circus at the arena. The standard room was large enough for three---well, OK, two and a half. Used Kids Tyme twice for daughter and she couldn't wait to go back. Very good staff at child care center. Nice dealers and cocktail service. Good pool area(not great). Had some teen-something neighbors chasing each other down the halls at 2 a.m.(shades of Circus, Circus), but that was the only bad experience. Attentive bell service and valet. Ate only at cafe--it was okay. Used the Business Services to check e-mail...$5.00 internet access for 30 min. Overall, a very good experience. The wife wanted to stay on strip, but was won over by the Orleans.

thanks to others great comments, my stay at the Orleans was great! I added an extra night to my two days because the environment was so resort-like at an unbeatable price. Sign up for their Player"s Club after you check in so you can earn the points to get a free buffet. The food overall was excellent. Don Miguel"s restaurant had great lunch specials. The staff was friendly and attentive and the security in front of the elevators makes your stay even more relaxing. The shuttle service makes it great for a quick foray to the Gold Coast or the Barbary Coast on the Strip. I normally frequent the Tahoe/Reno area for Nevada hospitality and the Orleans has that positive attitude towards their clientele. The pool and whirlpool area were fantastic. Relaxing in the sun with good water to jump into has always rated high in my vacation experience, and this hotel does not disappoint!

I always stay at the strip but had heard alot about this hotel, and decided to try it, I WILL NEVER STAY ON THE STRIP AGAIN!!, The rooms were huge and clean
the service was good, and best of all as a BJ player they have 5$ double deck
24/7 (they get a little whiny when you variate your bet too much like 1/10)
but they never boot you, I found a lot of the dealers to be very cold but Winng a lot of money from they made up for it wish the had a single deck game. The pool is good not the best like Manadlay, But not bad either not really crowded like the Mirage or Bellagio, As for the food the $195 graveyard special is the best bargain in vegas the steak is good and the eggs are cook great, The other
restuarants are pretty good too. Will be back there in July See ya!!!

I liked the open feel of the casino, good VP selection and had pretty good luck on them. Only drawback to gambling here is the craps tables offering 2x odds. Comes with a large tub, some cable stations, king size bed, sitting area (with couch, table, and chair), alarm clock, iron with ironing board, blow dryer, and funbook. Also, bathroom window in shower opens which is really nice. Would recommend that they add a fan to the bathroom and more TV channels. We love this hotel and would stay again and again!

Only just found this site whilst looking to rebook a stay here. This is a great hotel away from the hustle & bustle of the Strip. Free courtesy bus takes you to the Strip or "The Gold Coast" (sister hotel). My girlfriend and i, stayed here last March and loved it to pieces. The food was great also the slots ,casino and staff. Security was great , you have to show your room key before they`ll let you into the lift(elevator). Never used the pool or spa but, intend to next time. Plenty of comps and a great voucher book. This was our 1st trip to the States we`ed been to NYC on the same trip & we love it, the whole of it. It`s LA , San Fransisco and The Orleans for us this year. It`s just a shame that terrorists have to put a dampner on travelling accross the Atlantic. Still we wont be put off, no way. USA here we come....!

I spent 5 days at the Orleans Hotel and Casino while attending a convention. The Orleans has become my favorite hotel in Las Vegas. I have stayed at all the big Strip casino hotels over the past ten years. The Orleans really offers a terrific value, very nice large rooms, clean bathrooms, nice views of the Strip or the mountains and friendly staff. Also, the buffet is good, not great but good. My only problem is I did not win at blackjack or slots. You will need a car to get around. A tip for those thinking about staying at the Orleans. Check the Los Angeles Time Travel section for any special rates. I do and was able to book my rooms for only $30 per night and included 2 free dinners at the buffet. GREAT value. I love the Oreans Horel and Casino.

Just got back from my second stay at The Orleans in the span of three months, in mid-November, and again the first week of February. It's got to be one of Las Vegas' best kept secrets. I predict that it won't stay that way forever. The great room rates more than make up for the location, which is about a mile west of New York New York on Tropicana Ave. Check-in is pretty quick, Saturday check-in is allowed, and because of their recent expansion their room specials during slow season are fantastic. Almost every staff member there is friendly and helpful, even the ones that aren't are polite and professional. The first trip we got a $30 per night rate right off of their website. The second trip was the LA Times special rate (thanks Phil) also $30 for the weeknights, $69 for the Saturday night, plus a free dinner buffet for two. Don't forget your funbooks at check-in, there are some good coupons in there, including a 2-for-1 to the showroom. We saw Neil Sedaka for $44 for 2 tickets, and the ticket stubs are exchangable for a free drink after the show. A very good show, you will probably enjoy it even if you're not a fan. We also saw a Frank Sinatra-Dean Martin tribute (impressionist) show that was pretty entertaining, also 2-for-1. There are some other drink coupons in the funbook, as well as a free spa admission and some small discounts at their gift shop and snack shops.

Room quality rivals that of strip hotels, the only thing missing is room safes but the Monte Carlo and a few others don't have them either. Security is good, and I never felt that I had anything to worry about in thst regard. Otherwise, the rooms are as nice and as large as the rooms at Monte Carlo, with the exception of the bathrooms which at The Orleans don't have any marble in them. They are very functional however, with a door between the toilet/tub and vanity areas and a space saving sliding door between the vanity and sitting areas. You also get the much coveted sewing kit, check the desk drawer. In-room coffee has become a thing of the past in most hotels that have room service, and that applies not just in Las Vegas. Unlike many places on the strip, the room service menu actually has some reasonably priced choices on it. I didn't try room service so I can't comment on the service or quality, but I expect it's good. Almost everything else at the hotel was. In-room internet is accessible on your TV for $5.99 per session up to two hours. Didn't try it so I don't know how well it works, but it's a more reasonable rate than I saw at any internet cafe in LV.

We tried the buffet, cafe, and Prime Rib Loft, and all were quite good. Generous cuts of beef and huge baked potatoes at the Loft. A very nice dinner can be had at the Prime Rib Loft for around $30 per person inluding wine, dessert, and tip. The cafe has some great late night specials (steak and eggs $2) and a pretty good menu as well. The buffet is an excellent value and has some made-to-order items as included as well (omlettes at breakfast and stir-frys at lunch and dinner.) Also a good selection of no sugar added desserts. There is also live entertainment in their lounge and I once again got to enjoy The Smith Brothers, a really good band and a great bunch of guys.

The casino is pretty large and has games for everyone, $5 double deck blackjack is readily available, but their comp system leaves a bit to be desired. You need a separate card for the slots and tables, and if you don't know that when sitting at a table they may not tell you. It ended up being that because I wasn't familliar with their procedures a good chunk of my play was not tracked. Also, you get their attention with your initial buy-in at a table there, not so much as by your average bet. For slot players, it might be wise to note that you get points based on coins paid out, not how much you play. But with cheap rates like these, comps aren't as important as elsewhere unless you play enough so that everything would be covered.

Indeed, everything at The Orleans is geared to value, and the clientele is mostly middle-class with some locals. Canadians will feel right at home here, excellent value for our little loonies, plus this is a casino where you can actually get a Canadian beer. Molson Ice is one they stock in all the casino bars, and they have Moosehead at Sazio (their Italian restaurant) and possibly elsewhere. And their new arena which is opening soon will be the home of Las Vegas' minor league hockey team! Look for this resort to make some noise after a few years and a couple more expansions. (By the way, update on the rumour mentioned elsewhere here: Michael Gaughan turned down Harrah's offer to buy The Orleans. Phew!)

Outstanding property and great value. Will stay at this hotel again soon. Huge rooms, excellent views on the east side of the building, easy access to casino and hotel, great staff. Buffet and coffee shop on a par with any strip property. Give this hotel a try if you rent a car when you're in town... you will be pleased!

We would never stay here again for two main reasons...#1 KIDS...EVERYWHERE! Often with no parents in sight. Running rampant, playing on elevators, yelling in halls...the Orleans needs to come up with Kid-Less floors or we'll never go back. And don't get me wrong...I like kids, even brought mine to Vegas one time, but we didn't hang out in casinos, and I never let them run loose.
The #2 reason we'd not stay there again is because of the smokiness of the place. Ventilation is terrible.
On the positive side...the room was quite nice. Had a non-smoking king room in the new tower. Not much of a view, but that's okay. Room service was quick, good, and inexpensive. The staff was mostly friendly. The shuttles were quick. Just couldn't take the smoke & the kids again.

AFTER STAYING 2 DAYS AT THE MIRAGE LOSING PRETTY BADLY, THE ORLEANS WAS A SAVIOR. wE LIKED EVERYTHING THERE. FIRST THE ROOM WAS MUCH LARGER THAN OURS AT THE MIRAGE. WE WERE LOW IN THE OLDER SECTION WITH A GREAT VIEW OF THE POOL. THE ROOM HAD A DESK, COUCH AND CHAIR IN A SITTING AREA. EVERY MEAL WE HAD WAS EXCELLENT INCLUDING A KILLER SEAFOOD BUFFET ON MONDAY NIGHT. THE CAFE WAS EQUALLY GOOD. BIG AL'S OYSTER BAR WAS VERY GOOD ALSO. GOOD MUSIC AT BOURBON STREET BAR. GOOD VIDEO POKER - HIT 4 DEUCES TWICE IN 20 MINUTES- GOOD B/J TABLES- WON A FEW HUNDRED- GOT DINNER COMP FROM PIT BOSS- 2 COMP BREAKFASTS ON OUR PLAYERS CARD. GOOD MIX OF LOCALS AND TRAVELERS. VERY CONVENIENT LAYOUT. THE DISCOUNT LIQUOR STORE AND 18 SCREEN THEATER WERE A PLUS. WE WILL DEFINETLY STAY HEAR AGAIN. MUCH BETTER GAMING THAN THE STRIP- ESPECIALLY THE MIRAGE WHERE WE WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN.

Because I know that many german People visit this page, I'm gonna give my comment in German:

Also alles kein Problem.

Checked in on Christmas Day 2002, I found close parking, a well-staffed front desk, good funbook, needed key to access elevators - which is good since a gaurd is there, casino floor map was helpful, only a few kids there during my stay, I should have checked out the theater, nicest room I've even been in, clean room, two queen beds (only myself so I slept in each bed once for the two nites I was there), comfy chairs & sofa, heater controls were alittle confusing, over all... a great stay. Especially for an internet $9/night special rate.

First, for a little background, I've made over 20 trips to Vegas (from Atlanta) and have stayed in nearly as many different hotels. Stays are often for over a week in duration, divided between the Strip and Downtown, sometimes including as many as four hotels in a single trip (wherever I get the comps). However, it never occurred to me to stay at an off-Strip property until I read all the glowing reports about The Orleans and decided to check it out.

Following several nights at Harrah's and the Fremont, we moved to The Orleans for an additional two nights accompanied with high expectations. THEY WERE ALL MET! The room, one of the largest and nicest I've had in Vegas, was in the older tower affording a magnificent panoramic view of the entire Strip from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere! About the only improvement would have been an in-room coffee maker, which housekeeping was unable to supply. It was good to see security by the elevators checking room keys even during the day

The casino was very spacious, easy to navigate, interspersed with plenty of watering holes, and an abundance of low-limit tables. The only real bummer was that the blackjack tables don't have the peaking devices found almost everywhere else. There's nothing more frustrating than to hit to 21, only to still end up losing. The surrender option would have been nice too, but overall, the rules were favorable with a good mix between handheld and shoe games. Oh, I sure can't gripe about with the cocktail waitresses uniforms either, although they did make it a little difficult to concentrate on the games!

You can read more about the amenities on their web site; but from check-in to check-out, our experience at The Orleans could hardly have been more pleasant. We "did" the infamous Monday night seafood buffet, found it quite good, but couldn't fully appreciate it due to the colds we contracted. The graveyard breakfast specials, from midnight to 7am, were unbelievable. How about two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast for 99 cents? Add a 7 oz steak for an extra buck! The Chinese selections in the Café are excellent, and the meals we had were wonderful. Next time we'll checkout the Rib Loft.

At this point, we find being removed from the Strip more a plus than a negative and now only stay on the Strip if comped. (Besides, we actually had to pay to stay in the Orleans this time.) Meal comps were very easy to come by. Using their free shuttle service, we checked out their slightly older sister property at the Gold Coast, found it very similar to The Orleans, and also put it near the top of our list. Listening to the Dixieland jazz band at the Gold Coast, while playing in the casino, was particularly great.

We almost hate to recommend this place too much, least it becomes even more popular and causes their prices to go up, but feel we owe some feedback for all the useful comments we've read here. My favorite casino/hotel is now The Orleans, though I'll still look forward to the Downtown experience. Is that a recommendation or what?

Just got home. The Orleans is a very nice place. Great value. 4 or 5 very nice places to eat. 4 or 5 lounges for a drink. Cocktail waitress outfits and service outstanding. All employees there seemed friendly and helpful. Elevators were fast. View from the nice size room superb. Cable TV for news and sports updates.
Sports book very nice. All in all a very nice place! Will stay there again. Room had 2 queen size beds, a couch, a plush chair, and a desk with chair. If I had any small complaint, it would be the parking area (need more space or open up the valet area), and a safe and refridge in the room would of been nice, but that is just minor stuff. I love this place! Much nicer than downtown and half the strip. Great price and comps. I hope Harrah's doesn't buy them out.(Rumor) BigJim

Well, this was the third time I've stayed at the Orleans and it will be my last. The rooms are fine, large and well kept, however the clientele is definitely lower class. We were staying during convention time and saved a good deal of money not staying at the strip hotels. Therefore, what we saved we were able to spend on shows. We rented a car as usual, but even this did not make up for the inconvenience of driving through the ever growing Las Vegas traffic. I would personally wait for good deals in upscale strip hotels when planning my next visit.

The Orleans is a very nice hotel with large spacious rooms at a good value. The buffet is great, but the best deal is the steak & egg breakfast at the cafe for $1.79.The casino was easy to get around in, however I thought the slots were a little tight esp. the video poker.I thought since alot of locals go there and it's off the beaten path the machines would be a little more loose. After three day I gave gambling there and went to the Palms down the road and won all my money back.Overall I had a good stay the people are very friendly esp. the blackjack dealers.Look forward to staying there again.

This was our first time visiting Las Vegas (4 nights/5 days). We decided on the Orleans because of the rates and amenities from there website. We were not disappointed at all! The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. Employees were all very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Casino was easy to navigate and the slots were good to be in the evening. We are both not much for gambling :) Food was great! Great service and a lot of variety which was another reason we choose the Orleans as well. We didn't get a strip view but we were happy with the view of the hills very peaceful. Security at the elevators I did like since there were a lot of children there it heightens the comfort factor. Very family oriented hotel, cozy with down-to-earth people.

The Orleans had almost everything we needed in one hotel! Great food, movie theater, arcade, bowling alley, liquor store and my boyfriend loved the cocktail waitresses..lol Free shuttle to the strip was great and we didn't have to wait long coming or going.

For our first experience to Las Vegas it was GREAT!!!! Already planning our next trip and will most likely go back to the Orleans. Great place!!!

My husband and I spent 8 wonderful days at the Orleans. Our room was very spacious with a nice view of the Strip. Be sure to ask for a room close to the elevator because the hallways can be a long walk. The service was absolutely wonderful the entire week. The food was very good and an excellent value. For the most part we didn't feel the need to leave the hotel it was so wonderful. We had pretty good luck with the slots and they have a $3 blackjack table all the time. The Prime Rib Loft was excellent as was the buffet and the cafe. We would most definitely stay at this hotel again. In fact we just got home and could turn around and go right back. The fact that it is off the Strip made it a much more relaxing and enjoyable trip than the times that we have stayed on the Strip. They had excellent shuttle service to the Strip, we never waited more than 15 minutes. If you're planning a trip to Vegas, this is the place to stay.

I went in October with my brother and a friend. We picked this hotel for two reasons, first we heard here about the great rooms for $49 a night and more importantly because I heard better odds on the slots. Its an awesome room for $49 a night. Like a suite, L shaped with a seperate sitting area and the bathroom had a seperate dressing area, ironing board, hairdryer, collection of shampoo, mouthwash, etc. It is a lot of room for a cheap price and nicely decorated. For gambling, there were a number of 8/6 video poker machines that also gave you 2 for two pair. I like feeling I have a chance to win even if I dont. I liked the $5 Let It Ride table, in fact, I hit four sevens for a nice payday. Unfortunately they only had one so there was a time or two that I was unable to get on. I think most all the tables were $5 minimum or higher, but not sure. If you do nothing else, join the slot club. I received a really nice unbrella and after winning a few hundred over three days I stopped by to see what my points were worth and to my surprise they gave me two free buffet tickets and $25 in cash so I was a happy camper. Also, they give you a fun book when you check in which has at least 6 or 7 free drinks and other discounts. I liked the layout inside , a rectangle shape with the restaurants and bars around the walls and the gaming inside. Easy to navigate. We hit the buffet a number of times. Forget the coffee shop for breakfast. For less money you can have the buffet $4.95 or $5.95 with all the milk, juice and coffee you can drink as well as all the made to order eggs, omlets etc. and everything else they had. The coffee shop with tip and tax will run you close to $10 for a lot less food. We tried the Canal Street restaurant which was very nice and the Rib Loft. I would recomend both, but the Rib Loft where you get a salad, potato, rolls and thick slab of prime rib for $8.95 is hard to beat. Its almost as cheap as the dinner buffet. Watch out for the Oyster Bar they give you a shot of frozen Belvidere Vodka (they keep the bottles in a freezer) in an oversized shot glass with an Oyster in the bottom. Basically you drink the shot and then fish out the Oyster with a fork. They only charge a $1.50 for it and you can get nuts way too fast on those things. I liked the fact that in the middle of the hotels rectangle is a liquor store that had normal prices so if you wanted a little booze with your CNN in the room, no problem. They had six packs, booze, cigars, snacks all at normal prices. I also liked the fact that to get to your room there is just one hall leading to the elevators and a security guard asks for your key before you can go up the elevator. Nice when you are walking around with a load of cash on you. The pool is nice, but being October the outdoor bar and other services were not open so we just brought out a six pack from the liquor store, probably saved myself a bundle. I cant comment on the bus service as we rented a car. I liked the fact we were always able to park in the parking lot in front of the hotel so no long walk from a parking garage like some of the other hotels. From the hotel the strip is two or three minutes and coming from downtown you just take 15 to Tropicana and go west one block, easy to drive to. I do not know if we would have waited around for the shuttle bus, but a cab to the strip probably couldnt cost too much. To be honest, we were all pretty impressed and will definately go back. Its upscale without the upscale price.

Very nice property. Though not spectacular, the pool area is very nice. A decent double deck game is available in the casino. Staff was friendly. The rooms are very nice and quite spacious. The only bad thing about the stay was the pillow in the room. Way too thick to get comfortable. Love the window in the shower.

The Orleans may not be at the center of the Strip activity, but I actually think that's a plus. At some point you need to get away from all the hustle and bustle. My room ($89 for Saturday, $40 each for Sunday and Monday) was really quite a bargain, and the quality was first rate, with two queen-size beds for a friend and me. One minor problem: When I took a shower at 9:30 one night, hot water was lacking, but it wasn't ice cold, either. An 8:30 a.m. shower on another day had all the hot water I wanted. I wish I could rate the service a 10, but it has no shuttle service to the airport, nor does it have any kind of airport check-in. But in every other respect, the Orleans is quite nice. The casino is sprawling, but I actually found a $3 blackjack table with a sweet woman dealer from Hungary and even came away a winner. For the quality of room, you can't beat the price, and with a bowling center and huge cineplex, the Orleans is family friendly, too.

The ORLEANS Hotel and Casino is awesome! The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, and from the 19th floor....offers a spectacular view. At night there is a lovely view of the lit-up Strip a few blocks away and during the day there is a spectacular view of the desert and distant mountain range. The pool and casino are nice and the service was terrific. In fact I can only find one thing to complain about with this hotel and it's the shuttle service. Evidently, it runs every 20-30 minutes but it doesn't seem frequent enough. Between the unbelievable traffic along the strip and crowds of guests trying to board the somewhat small bus, sometimes a wait of up to half an hour is common which can be frustrating. Perhaps if they added another shuttle during peak times it might help to eliminate this minor irritation. However, in the long run I found the terrific value and amenities of the hotel help to offset this. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this property.

Well as promised, I came back to the Orleans over the 4th of July holiday. I had a great time again. I even made money on the craps table. The service was excellent except for the valet service, I guess the guys have to work in the heat and I'm sure that's it, they had no personally. Only 1 guy was friendly and that was at night! Food and hotel was excellent! The Prime Rib loft had the best service, their waiters/waitresses were all very friendly. They kept filling my drink even before it hit the bottom of the glass. Thanks again Orleans for my trip wonderful...See you all next year!!

This was my first time to stay at the Orleans and off the strip. To my surprise, the Orleans was excellent. From the check-in process to the check-out 4 days later, everyone I encountered was very friendly with the exception of the valet guys. I guess because the 100+ degree weather and having to work outside sure could put a frown on their face, otherwise, inside the hotel, the employees were very nice. My room was big and I was on a high floor with a view of the strip from Downtown Plaza Hotel to Mandalay Bay, what a view. The Prime Rib Loft is an excellent restaurant, Prime Rib dinner and the service were excellent. The waiter/waitress kept filling my drink before it hit the bottom of my glass. The casino is huge, and spread out, so much room to move about and not feel cramped. I won money on the craps game, of course that's the only table game I enjoy playing. The slots were ok, this casino has more video type slots than reel slots. I prefer the reel slots, to me it's alot more fun. I have to say, for only $49.00 a night even on July 4th holiday, of course this was the Orleans internet price and then having the craps pit manager comp my stay, made this trip by far the best stay in Vegas I've ever experienced. No more staying at a strip hotel in the future trip to Vegas. The Orleans is definitely my new home (while in Vegas) away from home.

We decided to try the Orleans because of the great comments about it from this very website. After two days at the Stardust, we stayed at the Orleans from Tuesday and checked out on Friday morning.

Check-in was slow even though there wasn't even a line--the lady told us that there were no clean rooms yet (it was already past noon). But we just walked around the casino and played a few slots in the meantime. It would have been nice if we could have just had a room right away, but then again it was a lot better than standing in a long line for 30 minutes.

This place seemed huge to us after staying at the Stardust. It is being newly expanded, so there was a lot of walking to do to get to our rooms, but once we got to the elevator, we were home free since we requested a room close to the elevator.

The rooms are nice with a sofa and chair and a coffee table. The bathrooms are nice because the toilet and bath tub are separate from the sink and are separated by a door for privacy. Then there is a sliding door to enter the bathroom, which includes a closet and an iron and board. Amenities are high in quantity but fair in quality-- you get shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, oatmeal bath bar, bath gel, and facial bar. Plus a sewing kit, postcard, and stationary.

The only thing that was a big disappointment was the carpet--it desparately needed a SHAMPOO! So if you stay here, bring slippers for sure. Unless it was just that particular room we got, #1138.

Let's see, what else... oh yeah, we went to Big Al's Fat Tuesday Pool Party. It was lively and had hot and cold hor d'orvs and drinks and a live band. I thought the pool was open, so I wore my bikini under my skirt but sad to say, it wasn't.
Anyways, lots of old people there (I wasn't expecting that but there's nothing wrong with it because it seemed like they had more fun dancing and more energy than people in their 20s). They give out free t-shirts and mugs and other souvenir type things as well as a $500 drawing that is drawn in the Bourbon Street lounge (don't go to Brendan's like we did and miss the drawing!). I guess they also give away a car, but the drawing wasn't held until a month later.

The casino is huge and spacious (not cramped). Roulette table is lots of fun. They have a 50 cent min. table!!! That made it more fun but when I won BIG I thought I should've played more. Dealers are pretty professional and mostly in their twenties and thirties. Great attitudes. One guy won but cheated and raised hell with the dealer so the manager came by and just gave it to him just so he'd shut up. It was only $43 more dollars, but he probably lost that much anyways or if he did'nt, he would loose it somewhere else. Most people play their money back. Be careful! Don't drink and gamble. That equals a bad combination!

Buffet. It is very good. Don't miss it! Well worth the affordable price!!! They have Mexican, Italian, Chinese, American, and others. GREAT deserts too.

Coutyard Cafe. Not that great, but they have "graveyard" specials like getting NY steak and eggs for $1.95 or others for 99 cents. Well worth it!

Keno. Fun but AZ Charlie's has better odds.

Slots. Fun and somewhat loose.

Overall, a very good stay. Wish we could've been big winners. Next time, I guess! Fun, clean, and friendly atmosphere! Give them a try! Good luck :)

Just got back from a great weekend at The Orleans Stayed there for our bowling league sweeps and had a great time. The room was fantastic, clean and large. Had a view of the strip room on the 14th floor could not have been nicer. The staff at the hotel was great quick check in and check out was very impressed with the whole experience. The Casino was a different matter. I was a little put off by the experience at the crap tables, it is really the only game I like. The first night was not bad but the second night I thought the crap tables were being staffed by rude incompetent dealers, stickmen etc. there was much confusion and delay's and the customer's were not treated very nice so I went and played blackjack and found the dealers to be fun and nice even though I still lost my a** they made it fun and entertaining. The slots were sooo tight I swear I heard sweaking but you go to Vegas to give them money while having a good time and the Orleans fit the bill.Would love to go back and get some money back sometime soon.

The Orleans is a great value. The rooms are not really fancy but they are very nice and extremely clean. All of the staff was very accommodating. The casino has a wide variety of slot and video machines. We used to stay at the Rio but have found that it is not the same since Harrah's took over. We decided to try The Orleans and were very very pleased. We have already planned another trip in August and we are staying at the Orleans again. The buffet is great and reasonably priced.

A great value for your money. Our room was larger that our friends who stayed at Treasure Island, they paid a considerable more for the strip experience. Check in was easy and painless. The clerk was friendly and courteous, she had everything at her fingertips and we were on our way quickly. The hallways were accomodating for us as well as the busy maid services. Everything advertised on the web site was as pictured and listed. NO SURPRISES! The casino staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet was very clean, the foods displayed were hot, moist and flavorful. The buffet serving staff was quick and efficient. We even has a good night at the blackjack table $$$! For our trip over to view the strip, the free shuttle made this a painless event. We will make the Orleans a stop on our next trip to Las Vegas.

If you like Video Poker, you'll love Orleans. For regular slots, the selection was limited. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The restaurant food was great and reasonably priced. Try Don Miguels for great food and Margueritas.

We stayed here our third night in Vegas, moving from Treasure Island. Excellent rate of $49/night. Check-in was friendly and quick. The casino is HUGE with lots of video poker machines. We didn't have a rental car but if we stay here again, we will get one. We rode the free shuttle which goes to the Barbary Coast. Most of the shuttle drivers were nasty, but I would be too if I had to put up with all the traffic in Vegas. Passengers riding from the BC back to Orleans the night of the boxing fights were rude; the driver will not let anyone stand up and ride, so he left some of us behind. I was supposed to be next in line to get on the NEXT shuttle but everyone tries to shove and get on, well I wasn't about to be left behind AGAIN, so I just about had "shuttle bus rage". Another time on the shuttle someone must have just changed a crappy diaper - I can't believe how rude people are! The longest stinkiest 10 minute ride of my life! The rooms at the Orleans are big, you have a Victorian style sofa, coffee table and upholstered chair, even a phone in the bathroom, and a hair dryer. Phone calls are 75 cents. The rooms are very quiet, when I stay on the Strip, I hear sirens all night. Here at the Orleans nothing woke me up. Get a room facing the East - you can see the entire strip all the way from the Stratosphere down to the airport, beautiful at night. I checked out the pool area. It's your basic pools and a waterfall, nothing spectacular, but I don't come to Vegas to swim, I have a pool at home. There are other things to do at the Orleans besides gamble: upstairs they have an arcade, 18 movie theatres and a 70 lane bowling alley. This is a family friendly place, and usually kids in Vegas bother me, but they didn't bother me here. They also have a day care center so you don't have to hide your kids between the slot machines to play LOL! The casino has good ventilation, I'm a non-smoker and was never bothered by smoke. The buffet is great - we ate there twice. I will probably stay here again next summer if the rates are good and just get a rental car for a change. My first choice is still their sister property, the Barbary Coast, but sometimes it's hard to get a room there.

What a great time we had. Was truly surprized at the size of the Orleans.
Rooms were very clean, everyone we talked to was very friendly and chatty.
Had all of our breakfasts there and the seafood buffet on Mon. nite. Food was good and fresh. Always plentiful. The Orleans new tower is supposed to open in Sept 2002 with 640 new rooms, 30K sq ft gaming area and an 10k seat auditorium.
Can't wait to go back.(Next May) Had a blast!!

Rooms were nice. Everything worked except the ice machine down the hall. Elevators were quick and uncrowded. The location (a mile from the strip) didn't matter to me because I had a rental car. If you don't get a rental, a free shuttle runs every half hour to the Barbary Coast on the Strip until 12:30am. The casino was easy enough to get around without getting lost. Plenty of restaraunt options. Movie theatres, bowling alley, pool area with jacuzzi open 24 hours, lots of amenities. Lots of construction going on when I went, so try get a room on the higher floors so the noise isn't right outside your window. Ask for a room closer to the elevator, because some of the walks are long ones. Paid $59 a night when a huge convention was in town, so you should be able to get it for that or less. My only beef was the buffet restaraunt, didn't find it so great, but maybe it was just me, because locals rave about it. Still, the Orleans is of excellent value! I'll try to stay there on my next trip to Vegas.

I just returned from another great trip to Vegas. I have stayed at the MGM Grand, Mirage, and 3 times at the Luxor. I liked this hotel as well as the Luxor, and it was way less money. True, it isn't right on the strip, but it is not far and if you get a rental car as we did, it is no problem getting around. Also, they have frequent free shuttles to the strip. There is a HUGE bowling alley, which is a great value if you go before 4:00 p.m. Mon - Fri. Also, there is an 18 plex movie theatre. The pool area was nice, but nothing fancy. Staff very friendly. The buffet was very good and reasonably priced. I didn't find the dealers to be extremely friendly - didn't gamble much there, though.

All in all it was a GREAT trip. I recommend express check-out using the television in your room. It saves waiting in line.

I will definitely return to THE ORLEANS soon!

Visited here for a week at the end of May with a family of four. What a tremendous place for value and accomadations. The room was bigger than any I had before in Vegas, and between the pools, the arcades, the movie complex, bowling, gambling and the restaurants, the whole family was kept occupied and happy. And the whole service staff could not have been better. On our future trips to Las Vegas,The Orleans will always receive our hard earned dollars.

We were there for the NASCAR race and was very impressed with this property. It was our first time staying off the strip and was really surprised at how down to home this Casino was. Transportation was no problem between here and the strip with there shuttle service even during this peak period.

This is not a high dollar casino. I play Black Jack and there were 3 and 5 dollar tables available at all times. Plus very friendly dealers.

Rooms were really a plus. As advertised they are huge and very clean.

Plenty of choices of food at reasonable prices.

Great place to stay with friendly people .. NOT a high dollar stuffie atmosphere.

Looking forward to our next stay at The ORLEANS.

What can I say, this place is awesome. The cocktail waitresses are friendly, prompt, and drop dead gorgeous to boot. I was surprised to see a comment about tight comps here, I didn't see any evidence of that, they seem pretty good about that, maybe because I'm out of town and they're used to locals, perhaps trying to keep as many of us out of towners coming back as possible, who knows. Anyway, you'll be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck there. The buffet and 24 hour cafe are top notch, as well as the new Prime Rib Loft, which replaced "Bones, A Rib Joint". Thank goodness for that, it was the Orleans' only downfall. Haven't been to all their restaurants, but the ones I have tried are fantastic. Have a great time there.

My husband and I stayed at the Orleans 3 nights 3/5-3/8. This was the second visit in the past year. We love the hotel. We've stayed at Excaliber, New York New York, several different hotels downtown and we have no plans on going back to anyother place but The Orleans. The rooms are large and clean although this visit we did notice that the carpet coming into our room was quite dirty. I wouldn't of wanted a crawling baby on that particular floor. The resturants are excellent very good food. All the gaming tables have friendly dealers and I actually won a little money this time. Having the 18 theatre movie theatre and the bowling alley upstairs is a nice change of pace. Our children are grown but having the childrens play area upstairs has to be a real plus for parents that have brought their children. Besides the floor the only other negative I can even think of is the security guard that stands at the room elevators (nice idea- have to show room key to go up) told my husband and I that the pool and jacuzzi was closed for winter. The next day we met a man in the elevator that had been visiting the jacuzzi each day of his visit. I recommend The Orleans to all my friends and family. You do have to drive the the strip or take their shuttle but we seem to do that wherever we stay anyway. Visit the Orleans and have lots of fun.

Just got back from a spring break trip with my wife. Have been visiting Las Vegas since 1989 and this was the first time I ever stayed off the Strip. We were a little worried about getting around, but we rented a car and had no problem getting to where we wanted. In fact we could drive the back ways into some of the hotels on the Strip. We really enjoyed the large casino, the dealers were some of the friendliest we have ever seen and the table limits were always reasonable. Slots were a little tight it seemed but I don't play slots that often anyway. We went to three of the restaurants and found the food and service to be great. The rooms need a little updating as well as the hallways. If you stay here ask for a even numbered room above the 12th floor to get a great view of the Strip. You can see everything, from Mandalay Bay to the Stratosphere and even the Rio. We will definately stay here again.

friendly staff, layout is fairly easy to negotiate unlike the mega strip casinos, pool is fair, not much landscaping , $10 daily charge to use the exercise room, the buffet is the best everything tastes homemade and is fresh and not dried out. the gambling.. found 10/7 jb video poker :) blackjack has 2 deck 3 doller minimum tables ..dealers were pleasant but not much fun, good comps easy to get food comps, and good deals in funbook for bowling 2;1 (good for up to 3 games). I would stay here again not rent a car but just use free shuttle to strip and gold coast ( can walk next door to the rio) also has $7.95 16 oz porterhouse dinner in the 24 hour restuarant great salad and potatoe but steak tough is available 24 hours choice of steak or prime rib. also has large movie theater upstairs whth wide choice of movies from g rated to r rated action type films

First visit to LV from UK. Great hotel for value for money. Good size comfortable rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Comfortable casino with excellent cocktail waitresses.
Only Problem was, We took our 14 year old son. He loved the Orleans but there is nowhere to sit in the evenings to wind down and people watch other than a restaraunt or Ice cream Parlour. It would be nice if there was some where for us to have a drink together. There are only tree seats in the areas where children can sit ( check in area ) This is the same in all of the Vegas hotels so dont let it put you off the Orleans.
Food is great value, we used the shuttle bus and went back to the hotel from the strip for main meals.
Also stopped at the Imperial Palace later in the holiday. Other than its strip location it just does not compare to the Otleans. Small tatty rooms poor service and a terrible poool area, also more expensive.
We all loved the Orleans.
Don't let the addition of 700 more rooms spoil its friendly atmosphere!!

The rooms were large with a nice large brass bed. The maid service was very good. Room service good. The hotel restaurants were very good. My husband is a chef and he thought the prime rib in the prime rib loft was the best he ever had. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a reasonable price. The cocktail service was also good. The attendants came to the slot area fairly quickly. The Righteous Brothers show was great with seating that didn't crowd you. The only bad experience was when my husband was at a blackjack table and the dealer had a 5 up, and my hubby wanted to split face cards. The dealer wasn't real happy with this and tried to talk him out of it. He did it anyway, and won the hand. Just let us play how we want.
The best thing was that we accidentally left my husbands car keys in the room and didn't realize until we got back to Buffalo, New York. I called the housekeeping department. They found the keys, and mailed them back to us. Now that is customer satisfaction.

We stayed here on New Year's day, and planned on staying for 4 nights. I didn't realize how far off the strip this hotel was, but it didn't bother me becaue we had a car. I did not like the parking situation because we had to walk past the dumsters to get to the hotel entrance.
Once inside, we realized very quickly that this was a "locals" casino. Check-in took 30 minutes, and I had asked for a room facing the Strip. Our room did face the strip, but since it was on the 5th floor, it had a wonderful view of the dumpsters. The room also smelled dirty and musty. I tried gambling in the casino, but I did not feel comfortable there. The entire place felt cheap and dirty.
After one night, we moved to the NYNY and had a wonderful 3 nights there.

Our fourth stay at the Orleans and we were not dissapointed. The buffet was magnificent as usual (we went on to stay at the Mirage for 3 days after the Orleans and the buffet there didn't even make it to the starting line) and without doubt the best value for money in Vegas.
We seemed to win more, and more often on the slots at the Orleans than any other casino we have been to.
Fantastic pint of Guiness in the Irish bar, but the Newcastle Brown Ale tasted like, as we say here in the North East of England where it is brewed, "GNATS P*SS". If you get a chance try and catch The Indulgers, an Irish band based in Denver, who played at the Orleans. They have a few gigs there over the next few months and hopefully we will be back to see them.
All in all a really good vacation, we will definitely be back.

Rooms were great, had a strip view high up room which was incredible. Checkin very friendly and fast. Valet service was excellent. On the downside: unfriendly cashier at the buffet, room maid did a very bad job, and checking out was a nightmare. Never met a person so unfriendly in any hotel all over the world. And then: They did not even react to my written complaints.

Two stays at the Orleans in the last year. Both were excellent. Hotel is clean, well organized with all the amenities you might want. Food is good. New Irish pub is actually just a sports bar. Food is not Irish. Otherwise no complaints. Stayed 3 days around christmas for excellent rates. Walked to the strip everyday although most people would probably take a cab or the shuttle which is free. Cab ride is about $7. Great slots with lots of Keno and 50 play poker. Good sports book. Fun entertainment. Fabulous pool area. Large rooms with sitting area and great views. Looks like the rates are going up later this year because of all the new renovations so grab the good rates while you can.

It's been over a year since we stayed there but I just discovered this rating site and had to put in a rating for the Orleans as we just LOVED the place! Unfortunately, we only got to stay there 1 night (on a trip back from LA to Indiana) but made a promise to ourselves that the next time we were in Vegas we would definitely make plans to go back and stay longer (and that's going to happen in a couple of months!). The rooms are HUGE and very nicely decorated and appointed (including a nice sitting area with loveseat) and the cost is very reasonable (non-weekend rates are in the $40-50 range). And if you watch their web site sometimes you can catch a GREAT special rate ... like the one we got when we stayed there last year .. $24.95 a night with 2 free breakfast buffets .. WOW!!! And with a bowling alley, movie complex, and arcade floor (yes .. "FLOOR" .. not just a room!) on the premises it would be a great place to take kids (like ages around 10-18) too.

The only (slight) "negative" in our opinion is that it's not right on the Strip .. about a mile west .. which requires some means of transportation to and from there if you want to go. But if you have a rental car (as we did and will have on our upcoming trip) it's really not an issue as it only takes about 5 minutes to get back and forth from/to the strip.

The Orleans has some great restaurants, large rooms and plenty of activity for everyone. We got a great room rate and enjoyed ourselves immensely. While not as conveniently located as some strip locations, they do run a shuttle to the strip and more than make up for it with great ammenities.
Be certain to join the slot club and with minimal gambling, you'll get some buffet passes and a five dollar cash back award.

This is an awesome hotel! Was a little worried being off the strip but what a great change it was. Just got back today from a 6 night stay. Arrived at 11 am and we were able to check in immediately. Room was large, much nicer than the Monte Carlo where we stayed last time. Bathroom has a window that opens,
I really enjoyed that for some reason. Housecleaning was very prompt and thorough.

The casino was very enjoyable. Did OK on the slots. All the staff was so helpful and I really enjoyed the security officers who checked the room keys before you were allowed up to your room. They were a kick. We visited the strip a couple of times. We were going to rent a car but the line was so long at the airport we decided to use the shuttle and it was perfect. They have a
shuttle that runs from the hotel to the Barbary Coast about every half hour depending on traffic of course. They also have shuttle which goes to the Gold Coast about every 15 minutes and we really enjoyed that one because you could also walk from there to the Palms (very nice also!) and the Rio (which we didn't like at all, so loud and crowded.

The food was excellent at the buffet and coffee shop! Great buffet!

All in all we wouldn't stay anywhere else again! We are hooked! Thanks to all at the Orleans!
