After reading many negative comments about the Aladdin I was uncertain whether to stay there. But with the great rates, we decided to give it at try and were not disappointed. Everything from check-in, the staff, the room, the casino, the restaurants was wonderful. We checked in around 8 pm and there was a short wait (5-10 min). The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. I did not do the $20 trick, but did ask for a view of the fountains. We were told that you need to upgrade ($30 more a night) for a view. I said that's ok, but the view sure would be nice. The rooms are very accessible from the casino and front lobby and you don't need to traipse through the casino with a bunch of luggage. Got to the room and was amazed. Either a mistake was made, or we were upgraded anyways, but we had a wonderful room with a view of the fountains and the blue balloon at the Paris Hotel. The bathroom was outstanding with a soaking tub next to the window. We found our stay to be incredible. The staff was very courteous. We ate at Tremezzo (they give you a $10 off coupon when you check-in) and it was wonderful -- service and food outstanding. Zanzibar Cafe for breakfast one day -- kind of pricey ($26 for french toast and pancakes) but we weren't paying since we had comps. Food and service was good there. We enjoyed the casino and joined the player's club. Got some comps and a few free goodies take home. The only negative thing I could say is that one night at the bar upstairs in Sinbad's lounge (the one with the live bands) there was a somewhat slow and surly bartender working alone. After waiting about 10 min to be acknowledged for a drink, we decided to leave and go to the bar downstairs. I did use the Elemis spa for a pedicure and the service and staff was very professional. I enjoyed it tremendously. All in all, our stay at the Aladdin was a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to return or to recommend the hotel. I do wonder how much will change with Planet Hollywood taking over. I read there that they plan to completely renovate the hotel. I hope they don't ruin an already good thing.

We booked months in advance, and were glad we did for what turned out to be a very busy weekend with a big fight and the Pro Bull Riders in town. Our Thurs through Sat rate averaged $212 for a "resort" room. We kept checking back on the hotel website to see if there would be any last minute bargains, but in the weeks prior to our visit the rate went way up. At check-in, we declined the opportunity to upgrade to a "resort vista" room for $50 extra per night. But we did mention that we would enjoy a view. The helpful staffer put us in a room on the 20th floor of the North tower and we had a very good strip view, including the Bellagio fountains. Check in was quick and courteous.

The room was quite spacious, clean and everything was in good working order. The room was a little light on amenities--no robes, no coffee maker, pretty spartan decor--but still a good value for the rate we paid.

We're not big gamblers, and we had tickets for shows in other hotels every night, so we did not spend much time in the Aladdin, except when we were sleeping. But the room was quiet, the bed comfortable and the AC was arctic-worthy. We were pleased with what we got and the location, in the heart of the Strip, would be hard to beat.

My husband and I are planning a trip to Las Vegas in December, so I'm using this site for some research about where to stay this time (stayed at Luxor and Bally's previously). What is this $20 trick I have seen people referring to?

Great experience. Called in advance to book a room for six nights. Mentioned I was coming in for our wedding anniversary. Very nice on the phone, they were actually onsite! When we arrived, we had been upgraded to a $2500 suite for no extra cost. Beautiful large room, huge bathroom with sunken tub, double vanity, etc. Picture windows in the bathroom and bedroom looking over the strip and the Bellogio fountains. The casino is very nice and did not smell smoky. We play slots and there were plenty of change stations (no wait) and the attendants would be at the machines within minutes to hand pay or hopper fill. The drinks were better than most casinos and the ladies very attentive. I won a nice jackpot on the ten times pay quarter machine (about $4,000) and my wife took several hundred dollars home from the dollar slots. I have been to Vegas quite a few times, and I think this has been the best casino I have stayed in. We have stayed at the MGM Grand several times, the Excalibur and the Luxor. I hope when it becomes Planet Hollywood, it doesn't change.

I chose to stay at the aladdin because it is the newest on the strip and of course, of its location. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, however, the view was not so good (overlooking the carpark). I enjoyed the desert passage, lots of shops to check out and good restaurants. I ate at the Spice market buffet, Zanibars cafe, Todai and Lombardis. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. The only complaint is that the decor inside the casino is very tacky...especially at the check-in area, where these big plastic "jewels" are glued on the stairwell columns. A minority of the check-in staff are not very friendly, they don't even smile or look at you when walking to you...but I guess you get those everywhere. Overall, Aladdin is a nice hotel but nothing memorable or special.

Having read other comments form this site we used the $20 trick and recieved a fabulous room with a view of the Bellagio founains. The room was large however the bed was hard as a rock. Our room was right behind the elevators so we got to hear that as well as the sounds from other bathrooms we could hear in our bathroom, made you feel like you were in a dorm, other than that it was quiet. The maid service was excellent we would leave our room at different times in the am have breakfast downstairs, and upon our return the room would be cleaned. The first day we tipped a maid $5 and asked for extra towels, we recieved them that day and everyday of our stay. The machines at the casino were tight, however play the "no-risk" slot tournament the prizes alone make it worth your while. We at at the buffet, zanibar cafe, both excellent. If you want to eat at chang's during peak times be prepared to wait at least 1 1/2 hr to be seated or you can bypass that and order room service from chang's and be served in 1/2 hr, it's worth the extra fees. Overall the staff was pleasant only one experience with a grumpy change clerk. The other annoying thing is the resort booth at the entrance to casino from the strip where they keep aggressively trying to get you to tour (2 hr trip) the site of a new resort, with the offer of show tickets. Just say no, you are leaving that day and they'll find another hapless victim.

Our stay at the Aladdin was very good. Check-in took all of ten minutes and we were upgraded to a strip view on the 31st floor after asking for a better room to celebrate our anniversary. The Desert Passage shops and restaurants offer a nice selection and the restaurants are reasonably priced. The in-house restaurants we tried were PF Changs, Tremezzo and the Spice Market Buffet. While Tremezzo is a little pricey, we felt it was worth the money since the service/food was first class and it offers views of the Bellagio fountains. PF Changs is very reasonable and offers some great meals. The Spice Market Buffet was as good as everyone said it would be, and I especially liked the Middle Eastern selections.
The location on the strip of the Aladdin is very convenient to most of the more popular casinos and offers some great views. Our room overlooked the fountains of Bellagio and the Eiffel Tower of Paris.
The casino doesn't seem to appeal to many and it was fairly empty at most times. The layout is poor and there are no lower stakes games offered. Many we spoke with did their gambling at other casinos.
The only SLIGHT negative I would comment on is that if an ajoining room ran the water at full blast, it was VERY noisey in our room as well.
This is the first trip we didn't rent a car in Vegas and it had some pluses, some minuses. The plus side is that I didn't have to fight the strip traffic, but the minus is that it takes forever to get anywhere either by shuttle or bus. The cab prices are high enough to make it worth renting a car. I think that on future trips we will go back to renting one.
Overall our trip was great and I would return to the Aladdin. Of course there is no way to know just how it will change once Planet Hollyood completes its takeover of the Aladdin.

We were very pleased with our stay Room was great, bathroom was huge. Service was great . Upon returning from Breakfast each day our room was made up and restocked. Very good service . While we were there for 1 week I can honestly state that everyone we came in contact with treated us in a friendly manner. Our host Jeanne Tabor is fantastic. Ate at Buffet and Cafe and food was excellent along with service. Shopping Mall is best around they provide somthing for everyone. Our View from the room was a beautiful view of the Dancing Fountain at Bellagio's. Location is very good short walk to Paris, Bally's , Bellagio's and many more. We are so looking forward to returning and will make Aladdin our Family Casino. P.S. Don't forget to try the Slot Tourament you can't lose Eveyones a Winner. Gifts, Comps, and if your lucky Money everytime you play.

We recently spent four nights at the Aladdin. Upon arrival at check in we politely asked if it was possible to get a room with a view and were advised that indeed we could for a $30.00 a day upgrade we would get a view of the Bellegio. I informed them that for $30.00 a day more we could have stayed at the Bellegio. So our room although very nice had a view of the back street. We found the rooms to be nice with a large bathroom and comfortable bed. Gambling at the Casino was tight. As a slot player it just sucked up your money without even letting you have fun. At first I thought it might be me, but watched others for about an hour of solid playing and observed no one seemed to be winning. We found the Buffet to be good, but rather expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at. The pool area wasn't bad, but as with most Vegas pools it closed at 8 PM. We rented a car while we were there and quickly found out to Valet park or else walk a long, long way from the parking deck to your room. I was discourages to discover that the Pepsi machine on our floor only took credit cards and not cash. We found the service to be prompt, but unpersonal. All in all I think we will spend our money elsewhere from now on.

Just got back from a week in vegas...Stayed at the aladdin. I liked the rooms and I thought the bathrooms were great! Didn't have a great view but that's what you go outside for! So many people complain about the view from the room....Hello you are in vegas...go Outside. Anyways, the food was way overpriced, and the food at La salsa cantina was horrible.....the buffet was good but I thought it was a little expensive....Won on their slots, so I can't complain about that...the room service did suck...the bed was sloppily made, iron was never put back...we were laying on the bed watching T.V and the maid didn't even knock...she just walked right in and said "do you want the service" I was like do we look like we want the service? I thought that was rude...The Zanzibar cafe was really good and affordable.....The drink waitresses in the casino were slow and we incountered one rude one...She carded ,me and my husband for 2 pepsi's.....He's 32 I am 28....but all in all I would stay again...maybe. I liked the location

We booked a package with 2 nights stay in Aladdin in late Sep. I have stayed in Venetian, Bellagio, Paris and Manderlay Bay before but first time staying in Aladdin. The 2 nights stay in Aladding was fine, its room is nice and clean, nice size and well prepared; Spice market buffet is good;Casino is fine w/ some good slots; nice "X" show; valuable Aladdin club card and benefit.

But, guess what, the worst is their front desk staff. Although I have said many good things above about Aladdin, my super bad experience at check-in process will probably lead me not to stay in Aladin anymore. This was what happened:
We arrived on Sunday and tried to do early check-in around Sunday 11am.Talked to first staff at front desk while wait line was not long at all. That first staff we talked to was not very helpful but he was ok. He told us there was no room ready yet and wanted us come back again later. But he reserved one regular room for us which was being cleaning at that moment. I had stomach sickness and really wanted to lay down but since he said there was no room, we could only check back later.

Hours later, we tried to check-in again. That was 2:30pm ( Sunday). Line was longer about 20~30 people in line, still not too bad. We talked to another staff who was hell mean and not helpful. I was asking for a regular room ( Delux room) with two queen beds, non-smoking room. I didn't even ask for any view or so. He told me it was very booked that day and he could only give me smoking room with one king bed "UNLESS" I pay for upgrades for better room. I politely asked him why it is so hard just to get a regular room? He said or he could give me handicap room ( has no hot tub). I told him I just want a regular room which should not be this difficult based on my previous hotel stays on strip. He said " well, then you were just lucky when you stayed at those hotels. There is no room I can give you now, only smoking room or handicap room unless you want to pay for upgrades for better room." I felt all he wanted is to sell us upgrades ( about additional $50 a day). His being rude started to irritate me so I asked him if now I can only get smoking room or handicap room, what room will you give others who were standing in line behind us? He said " well.. maybe they will be willing to pay for upgrades, we never know". By hearing him saying that, I decided to leave hotel, I didn't want to talk to him and I told him I am not doing check-in with you, I will come back later to check-in with another staff and I will talk to your manager as well." I don't believe booking a regular nonsmoking room with queen beds will be this hell difficult." He was not very happy when he realized I would not be doing check-in with him. He said "well.. I am in half way of process of your check-in, are you sure you would give up now and come back wait in lines again?" I told him " yes, maybe my next try will get me a regular, basic room with no problem" We turned around and about to leave, he finally said " oh, wait.. I just got you a room that you are asking for, see, you are lucky!"

What the hell? Can't anyone believe my getting a regular ( Delux) room with two queen beds, nonsmkoing room with NO VIEW would be such unpleasant and difficult?

I did see some other nice staffs who were helping other guests. I guess I was just hell UNLUCKY to encounter that cunning guy.

My suggestion, if your staff is giving you hard time, don't waste time on them, call for manager or go back to lines.

(The last 3 times we were in Vegas, we stayed at Mandalay Bay. This time it was full so we decided to try the Aladdin. It was difficult not to keep comparing everything, but it seemed inevitable).

Decided to spend the $ to upgrade to a Resort Vista room. Nice view, but as mentioned in another post, the room itself is nothing great. Giant bathroom with a lot of wasted space. View was great but we rearranged the couch to get it out of the way of the window it was stuck in front of. Unless you are dying for a tub next to a window or a tv in the bathroom, the standard room with a strip view would be just fine. Very cheap on the "goodies" too. We've come to expect more than 2 towels in a room. Also would've liked a rug for getting out of shower/bath. Missed things like real glasses, cotton swabs, make-up mirrors, etc that we've come to expect after staying at MB. Rooms and pools at MB are VERY MUCH better. Positives at Aladdin are location and fewer kids. Lots of room at the pool here, but the pools are nothing much at all. Aladdin sure didn't put any effort or $ into this one.

Found the staff to be quite pleasant overall, particularly slot tourney people who were always ready to share a story and a laugh. Housekeeping was only barely adequate ie. didn't put iron away, bed poorly made.

Did okay in the casino here. Be sure to try the NO Risk slots tourny. $25 gets you an entry then you get either a gift or $20 food credit plus $10 credit on your slot card (some show discounts too, but we didn't use them). Well worth it. Won $90 off the $10 credit and used the food voucher for the buffet which was great except for the fact that the temperature in there was so cold everyone was using the napkins as blankets for bare legs. Made us feel rushed just to get out of the Arctic temperatures. Some of the prizes you could get instead of the food credit were quite nice - we also got a decent polo/golf shirt and suede baseball hat.

Would we stay here again? Maybe, but only for the location and only if we got a very good deal. It'll be interesting to see the changes made when Planet Hollywood takes over.

PS- saw Zumanity at New York, New York. Don't see a place to review it on this site yet so if you have any questions feel free to send an e-mail and I'll try and help you out.

Stayed in room 2038 from 8/3-8/8; a fantastic strip view room with an unobstructed view of the Bellagio fountains (note I DID use the $20 trick in an attempt to get an upgrade and the checkin clerk said I would be happy with this room.....I was VERY happy!)

Sad that Aladdin is going to be destroyed by Planet Hollywood; very interesting to me how a company that can't keep their restaurants open is going to run a hotel.

For the price, the room was great. The rooms were clean and had attractive furnishings. The bathrooms are really nice with a separate tub and shower. The casino is nicely decorated, however, I did not win much. The only bad thing about this hotel is that parking is very far away. You must walk though the entire desert passage before checking in. Your arms get tired carrying all that luggage. I recommend that you valet park, when you check in.

OK, here's the real deal: The (standard) rooms are way more spacious than 95% of the standard rooms in LV. The bathroom is HUGE and you will appreciate the size when you realize that none of your bedroom space has been reduced because of this. Aladdin could have easily added another 30% more rooms to their entire hitel by just making them Bellagio-like (yes, contrary to most expectations, Bellagio standard rooms are pitifully small). But they didn't do that, instead, they made their rooms large, and added amenities like an internet terminal with ethernet port.

The sad part of the truth here is that the staff sucks a$$. I don't know how they can get away with such rudeness and unfriendlyness. At the Zanzibar cafe, the cashier huffed when I came up to pay my bill. WTF? Never in my years of dining have I experienced that. I thought the whole idea of an establishment was to MAKE money, not turn-off customers when it comes time to pay. Anyways, when it came time to visit the casino redemption center to get a free mug that this hotel advertises so much, the clerk told me I was in the wrong line by literlaly screaming at me. What's the deal here? Do any customers really deserve this type of treatment? That wasn't the end of it believe it or not. While walking down the hallway to my room, there was a maid vacuuming the floor and screamed at me, "GET OUT THE WAY!!" Hello? I'm traversing the only available path to my room that I paid for, and in turn is paying your salary. These employees seriously need to make room the more than qualified unemployed people out there to replace them!

The people who worked at the hotel were very nice and upgraded us to a panoramic suite with a
view of the Bellagio fountains which was very nice. The location is great right in the middle of
everything but the casino is a very lame and tacky one and doesn't even come close to others on
the strip. The pool is another loser item at the hotel how do you spend 1.6 billion on a hotel and
have such a lame pool. Okey to stay in the rooms as long as you don't do anything else in the
casino.

We stayed at the Aladdin after receiving an offer in the mail for 2 complimentary nights. We stayed there the last 2 nights of our trip after staying in a beautiful suite at the Paris for the beginning of the week, which would put many other properties to shame. I was really disappointed with the hotel part of the Aladdin. VIP check-in was a little inadequate. The hallways are dark blue and very depressing. Rooms are extremely small with a large bathroom. The window is blocked by the chair and table and you can't even get into one of the beds on one side because of how the furniture is set up. In order to get to the pool, you have to get to the 6th floor and walk past guest rooms and then trek to one of 2 pools which were quite boring and looked like a backyard pool. The casino is always alive with good music and is very cheery. The property is center strip and convenient, but the hotel itself was poorly designed. Let's hope Planet Hollywood improves the set-up.

Our room was impressive. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was very spacious. We had problems with the showerhead, but the repairman arrived promptly after a phonecall and the problem was fixed shortly thereafter. We decided to take advantage of the valet parking when we first arrived and had the bellhop bring up our baggage. After we got settled in we decided to move the car to self-parking and that was a big mistake. WARNING-self-parking is out in No Man's Land. We found out that you have to walk quite a distance through their mall in order to get to the hotel. We wouldn't stay here again for this very reason. Soon after, we had a complimentary dinner for two in the hotel at the Zanzibar Cafe and it was nice and the waitress didn't even charge for our drinks. Afterwards, we had arranged for a helicopter flight. We saw a sign that indicated where we thought the tour bus loading zone was, directly outside the back entrance. The sign failed to mention that buses aren't allowed where the taxi's and cars can pull up. They have to park a block away around a corner where they are unable to be seen. It would have been nice if Aladdin had informed us of this. We did the majority of our gambling there. My husband won $14 on a nickel machine, but he ended up losing it all on the last day when we tried to win a $10 commemorative coin out of this special machine. They wouldn't sell me a $10 coin, but I ended up buying the dollar coin instead. Also, beware of the bottles of water neatly displayed on the table in your room. They cost $4.50 if opened. We just happened to read the fine print. After visiting the strip, there are a lot of other hotels I would rather stay at than the Aladdin.

WE LOVED THIS HOTEL!!! My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and just adored the place. Location is great. Rooms are great. Service was excellent (our safe went crazy and we couldn't get in to it at 11:00PM, a guy came up and fixed it within 5 minutes of our call for help) The Spice Market Buffet was great. We really just had a fantastic time here! Of all the hotels we visited on our trip, we just loved the Aladdin the most. We will most definately stay here again when we return to Vegas. **TIP: If you can afford it, spring for a room with a strip view. Our view was of the entire Bellagio fountain and we could even hear the music 36 floors up!!! Some people have complained about the noise in the hotel, but we didn't have any problems. Also, I thought the maid service was excellent. Stay here! It's great!

We got the Strip Suite which was priced for the views not the room. The view was great. The bathroom was bigger than the room. The oversize tub was just a tub, no jets. The valet and self parking is the biggest joke in Vegas. You'll wait up to 15 min or more to get your car at the valet. Then if you park in self parking you have to walk thru a mall of stores just to get to your room whick takes about 15 min. The casino is small, but the service is great, the location is great also. The pool is plain, but the people are nice. I would stay here again for the service, food and I was please with the regular room over the suite.

Last summer I was on a trip to Vegas and I walked the Strip as I always do, stopping and gambling at various casinos along the way. I had hurt my arm just a week prior to this trip and it was quite obviously in a sling with a splint. I stopped in for a bit of craps at the Alladin and was standing to the left of the stick man as that is my prefered spot. I play the don't side from time to time and I nicely asked the dealer to place a couple of bets for me. She suggested I move to the corner of the table but I remained where I was. She then made some snide comments under her breath about customers who inconvenience the dealers. Now I may be wrong but I thought it was the dealers job to serve the customers especially as the table was not too crowded (maybe 2-3 people on her side) and my arm was obviouslt in a sling or I would have leaned over and placed all the bets myself. Her attitude really got me annoyed so I decided to leave and as I did she said "Thank you very much sir!" (I am sure many of you have heard this tone) very loudly and sarcastically as if I owed her a tip for the bad service. Now I will quite often tip the dealers, especially when I am winning even if their attitude is neutral but this lady's horrible attitude and sarcastic 'Thank you' have made me determined never ever to go back to the Alladin again for any reason. If this is the normal attitutde of the dealers I am not surprised they are going bankrupt.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. However, unless you get a GREAT deal like we did, I would not stay here, especially if the price is around what a room at Paris or Bellagio would be. It's like a jazzed up Motel 6...with cheesy decorations and a huge bathroom. Now the bathroom is nice, I enjoyed the bathtub and seperate shower...but really, it IS just a bathroom. We upgraded our room to resort level, but I wouldn't say it was worth it, and our view was of a roof. Maid Service was terrible. Trash left around, bed incredibly sloppily made, no visible sign of real cleaning..I stopped tipping after the 2nd night, it just wasn't deserved. There was a huge worn spot in the carpet, down to the ground warn. The problem here lies in that it exposed the carpet tacks...which we noticed when my husband STEPPED on them and bloodied his foot. The posts on here about the noise from room to room is very true. I live in an apartment, so I'm used to noise from other tenants, but this was BAD. Our 4 nights there we were woken up constantly. A neighbor starting up their bathtub at 6 am, sounded like a deisel idling behind our heads. The machines in the casino are tight...zero wins the whole time, a first for me. Drink service was good though :) The hotel waits for valet service is a nightmare, and they won't even let guests call down to let the valet know they will need there car. You are forced to go down to request it, and wait the 30 minute wait. One plus though, PF Changs offers room service! And since their price is considerably better then the standard room service menu ($12 for a cheeseburger, $3 can of soda), it's worth it.

I will try not to echo the post below by brandivee (?) but that poster had the same experience we did. We upgraded to a resort vista "mini-suite" thinking we would be getting a larger room. What we received was a monstrously large bathroom and a cramped bedroom with a couch blocking the window and a TV that was too small and far away from the bed to comfortably watch. The room seemed tastefully decorated, but very sparse in accessories. There was only one picture in the entire place and nothing else. The soaking tub with view was nice, but why not a jacuzzi for that price? So much of the bathroom was empty space I really wondered why use it for more living space. The walls are very thin, and the room service was so bad that we also stopped tipping. For an example, we had left the ironing board out, two empty coffee cups on the nightstand, and an empty bottle of water on the coffee table. When we came back to the room the ironing board was folded up but sitting in front of the closet it should have gone in, and the cups and bottle were still sitting there. Is $3.00 no longer enough to tip per day? I did like the option of using their internet service, and two sinks is helpful, but the bad design of this place and the poor service make it very unappealing to those who expect to receive more when they pay more. For a better experience on the Strip go to Bellagio, the Venitian, or even Harrahs (for service). The Aladdin has decided it does not need your business.

I love this place. I hope it stays great as a Planet Hollywood. Our check in was swift and pleasant. Got the exact type of room we wanted no tip needed! The check out was busy, so glad I had a "gold card", no line up for us! The coffee shop and bufet were excellent. I want to go back! I actually enjoyed the Aladdin more than Caesars!

My husband and I stayed at the Aladdin for four nights while he attended a business conference. I had read this message board before we left and was concerned about some of the bad reviews that were posted. The bad reviews are entirely undeserved - those people must have stayed at a different Aladdin Hotel! Its a great place with good service in a fantastic location. We received a free upgrade to a resort room that had a big, beautiful bathroom. The bedroom was nice too, with two large windows, a king size bed and internet access. Our room overlooked the pool, with views of New York-New York, the Excalibur, Luxor and Manadalay Bay. Housekeeping was very prompt - our room was always cleaned sometime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The casino itself is fine - nothing exceptional, but it was always hopping. If you're looking for a nice place to stay in Vegas - don't hesitate to try the Aladdin.

My husband and I arrived at 11:30 am on Memorial Day. Seeing as the Memorial Day weekend is their busiest time of the year, we weren't surprised that our room wasn't ready. I told the reservation clerk that we wanted a high floor, as we wanted a view of the strip. She assured me that when we checked back at 3:00 we would have our room with a view ready. Well, we got our room with a view alright. A view of the fifth floor ceiling and all its air-conditioning ducts! Don't settle for anything under the 10th floor! I called to complain and told the reservationist that my reservation (over the internet) specifically stated that our resort vista room would have a strip view of the Bellagio fountains. She then explained to me how the hotel considers any room facing in that vicinity to have a view, nothing else was available, and call back tomorrow. The next morning I went down and explained how disappointed I was with the room and the reservationist not only gave us a strip view, but upgraded us to a suite. We used the valet parking and found it extremely efficient. We only waited five minutes at the most, not the half-hour others have quoted on this site (hmm, they must be reading these postings). We ordered room service and were very pleased with the quality of the food. Get the filet mignon! It was excellent! If you play slots, I wouldn't recommend playing here. Cocktail service was virtually non-existant, and their slots are TIGHT! Also, taxi service from Freemont Street was not $25.00, as others have quoted, but $15.00. Maybe they made enough money over the weekend to cut us a break. As far as the rooms and maid service go, we had no problems whatsoever when we were in the suite (no noise, no maids bursting in, etc.), but when we were on the sixth floor our room was less than soundproof and maids came in twice (use the security lock). There does seem to be a moth problem at the hotel (they were in both rooms). Overall it was a good visit. Just be sure you get the room you're expecting, and don't take no for an answer (believe me, they HAVE the rooms you want). Bring lots of money!! You're sure to lose it, but hey, maybe you'll be the lucky one!! :)

5/27-5/29 Room #1001
I stayed 2 nights at Aladdin. I did some reserch before I visit this hotel and reserved Resort Vista Room for $109/night. Upon check-in, receptionist told me "You have a great room reserved. Enjoy your stay."
My room number was 1001 at South Tower. When I walked down the hall way, it was all the way to the end. I saw the double door in front of me, and got so excited. When I opened it, there is another double door for room 1001. I was speechless. I was given an end-cap suite for no extra cost. It was huge, and offered 180 degree strip view with Big TV, Marble bath room with deep bath tub. The location was so quiet and I never hear any noise.
The location of the hotel was the best. It is the center of the strip, so we even returned rent a car which we used for 2 days prior to Aladdin stay at Venetian and Palms. We also visited Red Rock Canyon and Old Nevada and Beltz Outlet mall. We just strolled Strip after the sun goes down, and enjoyed the spectacular view of Bellagio fountain and Paris Eiffel Tower.
This hotel was the best so far we stayed in Las Vegas.

We stayed at Aladdin on my first ever trip to Vegas a few weeks ago. My fiancee and I both really liked it. Check-in was quick and painless, and we were given a strip-view room upon our request. The room was clean and nice, although I would say they could've made the "hall" a little smaller and the room a little bigger. Also, very few outlets to plug the iron in at.

The pool area was adequate, and I liked that it was on the 6th floor. However, there were not enough pool-view chairs. You had to get out there early to get a poolside seat. Only about 40% of the chairs have a pool view. Otherwise it's nice, with cute and busy waitresses.

We had a lightbulb burn out in our room one late afternoon, and there was a guy up there within 5 minutes of my phone call to replace it. Checkout was easy, didn't even have to talk to anyone. The casino is nice, not overly busy, and in a good location. Quick access from the street and hotel rooms. Also they have good bars in the casino area. Perfect location on the strip, right in the middle of the action.

I would stay at the Aladdin again, and I told friends that we really liked it and would recommend it.

We paid $65/night during the week and were very satisfied with the quality of the rooms. They were larger than most standard rooms in Vegas and they were very nicely decorated. The bathroom was well above average - similar to the bathrooms at the Venetian, but a bit smaller in size. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and attentive. Would stay here again.

Stayed in a resort room for 4 nights and loved it! We had a great view overlooking the pool and the strip hotels. The location is perfect..right in the middle of everything. The room was spacious and very clean. Loved the 2 separate sinks in the bathroom...one for my husband and one for me! Great color scheme in the hotel..both in the rooms and in the hallways. I've read in the reviews that the room wall are very thin but we never heard a word in our room or out in the hallway.

This was my first stay at the Aladdin and my husbands second. I love it and we plan on returning in September!

I like Aladdin and would stay there again. The rooms are awesome, huge beautiful wonderful bathrooms. Very nice. The whole place is beautiful.

However, there were times when our room wasn't cleaned until after 4pm. Having worked in a hotel I know housekeeping is always short staffed but this was much later than the other hotels we stayed it. The resturaunts are way over priced. I would eat anywhere else. The walk from the parking ramp to the hotel elevators is a hell of a work out. They really didn't plan that very well. We spent ALOT of time walking from our room to our car. Consider yourself warned. You must walk through the whole mall before getting anywhere near the casino or hotel elevators. If you want a shorter walk, use the valets.

Overall, I liked it. The things that I didn't like are not enough to keep me from going back.

This hotel was very cheaply done with their bogus rubies and emeralds theme. To top it off, the pool area is absolutely boring with two 20ft x 40ft rectangle pools. When we were there, it was over 100 degrees each day and they only allowed one pool open. The deck space for the pool area is big, but their is ZERO walking space around the actual pool itself and therefore makes it almost impossible to get up and go for a drink or to the bathroom. Each pool is surrounded by a 10ft concrete wall on the south and west sides. This wall casts a huge shadow so forget about tanning.

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Aladdin. We will not return. While the location of the hotel is excellent--walk across the street to the Bellagio or Paris, this is the last time we will stay there. We have stayed at Harrah's and Mandalay Bay previously. While the Aladdin is a cut above Harrah's, it cannot be compared to Mandalay Bay. Aladdin touted its bathrooms as elegant. While there is a large soaking tub, it looks like a wash tub at a dog groomer's. No decking around the tub---just the tub. One sink in the bathroom. While the shower is separate, the water pressure is low. The last day of our stay, we FINALLY got a bath mat! We had some friends up for drinks--only two plastic glasses! We had to cut plastic Pepsi bottles to accommodate them. Walls were thin! The couple next door to us decided to "share their marital bliss" at 2:50 a.m. Their headboard was right up against our headboard. You get the picture. The beds were sloppily made. Why don't hotels use fitted bottom sheets? Before you got into bed, they were undone. Mattress protector pad would ball up every night. We paid $30 extra per night for a view of the Bellagio fountains. Good move on our part! A friend stayed in the same north tower, but had a great view of the parking garage roof. Check-in was quick with a friendly desk clerk, Brandon. That's where the friendly service stopped, Indifferent service at best Also, one of the two pools was drained for the length of our stay. One pool. Also, no drink service was available. I saw one pool waitress, leaving the pool area. Never saw another one. They did have a snack bar/bar near the pool. Long lines & no food to order--chips were available. Automated check-out via your television? Not before 6:00 a.mn. Why even have it? We were directed to ring the front desk to check out. Got a recording that promised that our check-out was absolutely insured. I have my doubts. The casino was poor; tight slots, $10 blackjack was the cheapest table; drinks while you were playing were basically nonexistent. You nearly had to trip & tackle a waitress to get one. Better gambling at the Gold Coast (by the Rio). Also, some friends from Henderson came to visit; there are really no lounges to sit & visit. A monoral system is being built linking the strip hotels with the airport. Once that system is in place, it's Mandalay Bay for us. At Mandalay Bay, no request was beyond them...cheerfully compliance as well. If you don't mind taxis or the strip has lost its allure, stay at Mandalay Bay. You don't have to leave for anything. Great restaurants, activities, wonderful rooms. Skip the Aladdin.

Having read so many average reviews of the Aladdin I was unsure what to expect from this hotel but decided to take the chance and book it anyway as their Resort Vista rooms looked fantastic. I certainly wasn't dissaponted on arrival. Why are people so hard on this place?!! I really can't figure it out. I had the best stay I had ever had in Las Vegas and one of the nicest stays pretty much worldwide. This hotel is beautiful from the impressive lobby through to the fabulous spacious and beautifully decorated casino down to the fantastic hotel rooms. It's clear from the start that alot of thought has gone into the planning of Aladdin. There are no overly long hikes to your room, the casino never felt crowded or smokey at anytime of day and the staff are very attentive to any needs you have. People say that pool area is plain but I don't really see it, it's once again very spacious nicely landscaped and has the wonderful onion domed palace overlooking it, giving it a nice theme. The pools are square in shape but large and get alot of sun. It was a great place to relax and seemed a world away from the strip 6 floors below. Our resort room was the equivalent of a small suite. They are situated on the end of the wings sticking out from the main tower and command the most amazing views of the strip from your four floor to ceiling windows. You have a large entrance hall with desk and PC. This opens on to a nice crescent shaped bedroom with lounge area which opens on to what has to be the largest bathroom I've ever seen complete with deep soaking tub overlooking the strip. You really couldn't ask for more. All is done in nice muted colors and very plush. However for those of you who prefer the cheaper option I checked out both their standard rooms and resort rooms. Both were plenty nice and large and put alot of other hotels to shame. Perhaps my only advice to people is to ask for a room higher than floor 10 as you would get no view unless your happy to look at the pool area.

I've stayed at many hotels in Las Vegas and for me Aladdin beats them all into the ground so everybody quit giving this place a hard time and see her for the beauty that she is. No hotel deserves a break more than Aladdin. Go there you'll see what I mean.

GMC1940 must have picked a bad few days to be there! (Either that, or they are a shill for Mandaly Bay!)

The place was great! We were there from April 14-18, and the stay was top rate all the way. We had a deal for $29 a night, but even the casino rate of $79 would have been a steal. The people were all very easy to deal with, and any question was answered promptly. The room was very nice. Like GMC1940, we only had one sink, but hey.....in my 40 years, I've never needed two! It never dawned on me that I needed a bath mat, either. Silly me.....I just set a towel on the floor! I do think that a nice place like this could do better in the glass department, though. I will agree with our cantakerous friend, there. Real glasses would be nice, but if they are going to use cheap plastic ones, four wouldn't hurt.

The big drawback to the room was the fact that you can hear the neighbors plumbing very well! It sound like your own. Late night showers from the gang next door would prove to be very annoying.

The casino was very nice. It is probably smaller than most resorts of this size, and proved to be quist crowded on the weekends. During the week, or morning hours, you can get a seat without any fuss. Also, during the week, there were a few $5 tables. ($10 is the norm, though.) The main gripe about the casino? You can hear the band from the Sinbad Lounge VERY LOUDLY throughout the casino. I mean that you need to really speak up to be heard at some times. The fact that it seems to be the same band every night gets old, too.

The Spice Market Buffet is awesome! Great food, plenty of choices, and fairly priced at $12 for breakfast, and about $15 for lunch and supper. The Zanzibar Cafe is also very good, and reasonably priced. If you want to eat in the upper scale joints, like Elemis, you will need to bring some nice duds, and no tennies!

I will stay there again, without a doubt. (They also have a great comp and cash back program if you use your players card!)

When we tried to check in and everything was messed up, and the desk staff belonged at a Motel 6, I was sure my wedding at the hotel's chapel was going to be a real disaster. But a wonderful asst. guest services manager gave me a 35th floor Bellagio view end suite, as I'd asked for and had been assured we could have and I moved on. The bell staff and valets were wonderful,we kept running in and out getting wedding/reception-in-the-suite (it's 1255sf !!) things going. The housekeepers were great and didn't grumble about our huge mess the morning after, and they got a huge tip. Loved the buffet. The chapel was perfect-love the minister! We had a wonderful 3 days. Then it came time to check out. Why do they have to be rude when they're just checking someone out? I worked as a front desk manager for several large hotels, and I'd have fired all of the ones I came in contact with, even the asst front desk manager who was the most rude of all!! I'll go back for my anniversary, but now I know who to talk to when they screw up my reservation!

I don't see how anyone could dislike Aladdins. I have stayed at 75% of the major hotels on the strip and for the price, Aladdins has won me over. The casino host will go out of their way to help you out. If they don't have the authority to do something, they will check with their supervisor to see what they can do. Too many of the hotels anymore will only follow their "corporate play book." Aladdins treats you as an individual and understands what the gambler as well as individuals want and need. The casino is not for the single nickel gambler. The $1.00 slots are great. I have read where some don't like the rules of the blackjack. Unless you are playing a single deck game, the rules are more liberal than most on the strip. The Aladdin is perfect for adults get away from the daily routines of life. If you want to be taken care of without having to take out a second mortgage, the Aladdin is the place to go.

The Aladdin Hotel treated our party great! Check-in was immediate, got a free upgrade to a Bellagio-view room on the 28th floor, bathrooms are WONDERFUL, and housekeeping was prompt and courteous. I had read on this page that housekeeping just barged in on some other patrons, but our crew honored the 'do not disturb' sign, and then called later to see if we wanted/needed service. We also took advantage of the free Craps lessons and had a GREAT crew work with us; very patient and answered all questions - we left the table with $600 profit after 1 hour of lesson and 1 hour of play! One of the best things about the Aladdin Hotel is the great LOCATION on the strip. You're a short walk either direction to the main hotel/casinos on the strip; when you do need a taxi we found them to be plentiful and reasonable. You can't beat the location across from the Bellagio either, and right next door to the Paris, both premier properties to play at/visit. For all you people that say the hotel is hard to navigate (???) I don't know what the problem is. Maybe if you rent a car and have to walk from the parking garage (???) but hey - just valet park! We felt the Aladdin was a great value and can't wait to visit again!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Aladdin...I would NEVER go back!!! The room was fair - we would see what was done on a daily basis and our beds were always unkept...very messily made...the floor was not cleaned on a day to day basis...
The food what we ate was breakfast...couldn't afford to eat dinner at a price of $19.95 for dinner...
As for their valet - they need a lesson on friendliness and timeliness...we waited on the average 20 minutes for our car to be brought up...this happened more than once during our stay...one night we were almost late for our show because of the inability of the valet personnel to bring us our car on a timely manner...
As I said above I would NEVER go back!!!

Like the previous poster, I went to Las Vegas to celebrate my 40th birthday. After much agonizing, I selected the Aladdin. I'm so glad I did! Our group of 9 booked 4 regular rooms. Upon arrival, I was given the opportunity to upgrade. Though I longed for a Panorama Suite, I settled for adjoining rooms with a Bellagio fountain view. The rooms were large, clean and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are very large and the tub is GREAT! We spent many hours in the casino, too. It is beautifully decorated (I love the flowers that light up!) and the volume of the music is just right. The buffet is excellent, especially the champagne brunch. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Phone calls to the hotel operator and housekeeping were answered promptly. The only problem we had was with our internet connection. Our mouse didn't work and they were not able to service it while we were there. However, they took the charge off our bill, no questions asked. We will DEFINITELY stay at the Aladdin again.

We checked in1/24/03 checked out 1/28/03.Me and Eric, brothers, found the room very comfortable and timely housekeeping. We used the dry cleaning facilities and that too was very good.I used the spa and highly recommend it.The tri-level common areas was I thought a nice twist to the place. Our only complaint sort of is the restuarant prices were maybe a few dollars to high.Food was great.

I have recently returned from a trip to Las Vegas where I stayed at Aladdin and then Mandalay Bay. I tried the Aladdin because of a promotional offer I received because I am enrolled in the players club(3 free nights and $600 worth of chips). I got a cab from the airport. When I told the cab driver I was going to the Aladdin, he sighed. I asked him if there was a problem. He began to tell me of Aladdin's bankruptcy problems and that he didn't like going there because of the terrible design of the entrances and exits. He was right. Upon entering the hotel (the main entrance is not on the strip but rather on a side street), you feel as though you are entering a parking garage. There is no character at all. It is a concrete tunnel to get to the entrance as opposed to Bellagio's beautiful driveway. The check-in line was unnecessarily long. It took me an hour to check-in. My room was adequate but nothing special. The hotel was not detail conscious when they built the property. The bathtub is big enough to have jacuzzi jets but does not. Wall moldings were loose and the carpet was not high quality. Little things were overlooked. I unpacked and went downstairs to the casino. There was hardly any action and this was close to new years. I played for a while and won about $2,000. I did not play the rest of the time because the casino was deserted. I walked around the hotel just to see how bad the design was. It was very bad. The parking garage was shoved to the VERY back of the hotel forcing people that self park to walk all the way through the mall to get to the check-in desk. The management saved a theatre from the old hotel (the one that was imploded to make way for the Aladdin) and they had to build around it making a logical setup very hard to achieve. The strip pedestrian entrances are also poor. They are not clearly marked and elevated so people have to hunt for them. My overall impression of this hotel was that it was not thought through and the design is very pedestrian UNfriendly. It is too hard to navigate and not nice enough to justify the $1.3 billion that it took to build it. Details, design, and overall lack of planning make this hotel a disappointment. I will not stay here again unless I receive a promotional offer again. However, I will be going back to the Tremezzo restaurant. It is top notch. If you are considering the Aladdin, I strongly advise that you look elsewhere.

This was only our second visit to Las Vegas. Last year (same weekene) we stayed at the Bellagio, but their prices this year were out of sight. The Aladdin turned out to be a great stay. Our room was large with a huge bathroom. We wanted to stay where we could see the fountain, not necessarily hear it. Actually we could hear it better at the Aladdin than at the Bellagio. Not sure if that meant the Bellagio was better insulated. My biggest complaint would be the casino. I realize all the hotels force people to walk through the casinos, but some have better filtration systems. I nearly choked on all the smoke and the noise was deafening. If you have to have music playing in the background, have it soft not blaring. We refused to gamble there and sought out other hotels for that entertainment. The shops were great and reasonable. They had a good mix of the designer and the regular boutiques. I would stay there again, but never gamble there.

Good visit in January 2003. Great value for $59 a night. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, spacious bathroom and was given a room with a view of the strip and the dancing waters at the Bellagio coveniently right across the street. Yes it is a long walk from the self parking area to the hotel lobby but it's a pleasant walk through the desert passage shopping area. The plumbing from adjoining rooms does get noisy but it's OK if you leave the bathroom doors closed. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My wife surprised me with a trip for us to Las Vegas. We found a reasonable rate online for airfare & hotel ( the Aladdin). We arrived on Tuesday morning and found our room was ready, even though it was still several hours before the "official" check-in time. The lobby appeared to be a little small for such a large resort, but it wasn't busy.
Our standard room was very pleasant. My wife( who is very picky when it comes to hotel accomodations) stated how much she liked the room. There was plenty of area to be able to move around and we didn't have that "cramped" feeling you have at some hotels. The bathroom was spacious, with lots of marble and tile.
We had eaten at the Spice Market buffet on a prior stay in Las Vegas, and found the food to still be very good. Lots of different choices, and everything was tasty. We also at P.F. Changs chinesse bistro, but found the food to be rather standard of what we have found in other chinesse restaurants.
Try playing the "No Risk Slots" at the promotion booth. For $25 entry fee, you receive 100 pulls ( I beleive ) on a slot machine trying to win prizes. But the other coupons you receive for entering are the best deal....2 for 1 at the buffet, 2 for 1 show tickets, etc. You come out ahead.
I usually play Blackjack at the $5 tables, but found that the Aladdin has converted all of them to single-deck games that only pays 6 to 5 on natural
blackjacks instead of the standard 3 to 2.(On a $5 bet, a Blackjack only wins you $6 instead of the standard $7.50.....not good for the player.)
However, we found ourselves very lucky on the slot machines during our stay....and were pleased with our winnings.
We also took in the adult show, "X" at the Aladdin. It's a show thats OK for couples, with several topless women dancing to high energy music, but after 4 or 5 songs it began to get a little boring. Think of a well choreographed
strip club and you have an idea of what the show is about. And if you go, try to sit in the front, lower area. We were seated back and up one level , but found we( and everyone at the tables in our area) had to stretch to see the stage due to poor table arrangements, etc.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and believe we will stay at the Aladdin again in the future.

For the most part, our stay was pretty good. However, we got put in a smoking room our first night even though we had requested a non-smoking room. They said that they had nothing at all that was non-smoking in the whole hotel. Now, come on, on a monday night in December (The deadest month in Vegas) they didn't have one non-smoking room? I don't think so. However, they moved us after the first night to a better room.
The bathroom was really nice. It had a big tub with a separate shower, and it was marble. The Desert Passage downstairs was fun to explore. However, the food in the coffee shop was nasty. Don't eat there!

The Aladdin rates high for location and convenience, as well (for us) in value. Pluses are its location adjacent to Paris (wonderful buffet), world-class shopping), and Bellagio (nightly water shows if you have a fortunate room assignment). The room was pleasant in size and appointments and was in good repair. The negative was that the room was never made-up until the late late afternoon, few towels, and the burnt-out light bulb was never replaced. I would go back - yes - but would insist on better service the FIRST moment that it was less than I expected. The hotel was rated as 4 star... my wife and I agree that it could be that... but due to the poor staffing it performed at a mid-three star. They can and should do better.

i have stayed at almost all the hotels on the strip, i know all the hotels upside down, but aladdin was a different story. the rooms are clean and nice, but it is toooooo dark, there is no enough lighting in the room, it was hard for me to put in my contacts because the bathroom did not have bright lights, since i am a frequent vegas visitor i only paid about $39 a night, which is expensive since i usually stay at mandalay bay, bellagio, the venetian and paris for FREE. but the fact that the buffet was 30 bucks a person just blew me off. i thought it was crazy. besides the walk through the shoppes is way too long. i dont think i want to stay there, even if i get a complimentary stay.

We go to Vegas about twice a year. We've stayed at Treasure Island, Rio, Harrahs, Bellagio, Imperial Palace, Sahara, etc.. Hotels all over the board. So I have some experience to look back on. Believe me, the Aladdin has the best rooms and service for a reasonable price in Vegas. We were in a resort vista room @ 109 per night, during a busy week(Bellagio was sold out). The room was more of a suite than anything else. Separate entry room with computer hookup, a large bedroom with a nice sized couch and a bathroom to rival the best. It had a nice sized tub, with a window overlooking the pool and a separate shower. The bathroom included a large TV and separate room for the toilet. All the amenities you could ask for in a room. The Service was great too. 5 minutes for the bell desk to bring up the bags, and 7 minutes to get more towels( I timed it). Room were clean and fresh. My only problem was with the food prices . The food was expensive by Vegas standards( $8.95 for hamburger in the cafe), although the portions were huge. It was also $2.95 for a coffee at Starbucks, far higher than either Treasure Island or the Airport. P.F. Chang's was the best deal in the hotel, with excellent food and reasonable prices.

All in all, a wonderful experience for a midwesterner who may not have the highest standards, but knows Vegas. We will definitely stay here again.

As a whole, property is very nice and well-kept, I was just unhappy with the room, and the personnel. Basically, the folks who worked for tips were very nice (seemed to be geniune) and helpful, but the staff behind the desk (check in, etc.) just seemed like zombies. Standard rooms are no-frills and are the same room you would get staying at a hotel in Atlantic City. Housekeeping is VERY quick to tend to your needs, Room service can get a bit pricey, but it is Vegas!

I didn't stay here but I wated to talk about their Casino and the bar...

CASINO-No fun at all...not enough fun people were gambling and the slots were really tight...! The casnio florr didn't impress me too much...The shopping area was impressive however...Lot of stores and things to look at. Nice Food court and I like the rainstorm. Casino is a dud, shopping is a stud!

BAR-I really really liked the sky bar...i forget what it's called but it has a long stair way towards the second floor and it over looks the casnio gaming area...Cool people and atmosphere...live bands and nice bartenders...go visit and have fun!

ROOMs-did not stay here but I hread it's just average...

Stayed in a resort room which was $20 more than a regular room. The room is excellent with his and hers sinks with their own countertops. Very good quality, and the price was reasonable considering the location and the quality of the room. You don't have to trudge through the casino to get to the pool. As with all major strip hotels, the slots are not very generous. Stick to the table games or go play slots at a small casino. Overall, a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.

I won't hesitate to recommend the Aladdin to anyone going to Las Vegas. I've visited Las Vegas at least twice a year for the past 10 years and have found the Aladdin to be my favorite place to stay in the city.

First of all, the location is outstanding. When our party checked in we asked for a view of the Bellagio fountains and were given rooms with a perfect view. One person mentioned in a review that they were charged extra for this?? I never have been. As far as the casino goes, I have a great time playing there. It is small enough that you don't have to walk 5 miles to get to where you are going (aka MGM) and big enough to have all the latest games. The staff is outstanding as well. I'm not a big player by any means, but on more than one occasion the slot host has stopped by and inquired as to how I was doing and offered different comps. The buffet is very nice (especially when it is comped). The rooms are clean and comfortable with a very nice large bathroom.

Take my advice and stay at the Aladdin.

I visited Las Vegas for the first time with a group of 18 people, and what a blast! The rooms were wonderfully appointed (although the lack of a small coffee pot was a bit of a stressor!), and the suite on the 21st floor that we stayed in had a beautiful 180 degree view of the fountains at the Bellagio, Paris and the strip on one side and the mountains on the other. Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff and a great casino. Had good luck on the 25 cent slots and one in our party won $300 on a progressive slot. Since we weren't traveling as a "family", I can't really speak to the idea of the hotel being "family-friendly".

One thing is for sure, the location is TOP-NOTCH. Right in the middle of the Strip, and can't beat the view from the rooms. Will definitely visit this property again.

Stayed in a resort room with a good view of the Bellagio fountains, check in was very quick and hotel staff very polite and friendly. Housekeeping was good, everything put away and tidied. Ate at Spice Market Buffet, P.F.Changs and the Zanzibar Cafe and all three were excellent. Having visited seven other hotel/casino's while I was here, for sightseeing, dining and gambling,I do not feel that there is any need to want to stay at anywhere other than the Aladdin.
As it was my first visit to Vegas, I didn't know what to expect in the way of comps, but was very impressed with the way in which they dealt with my inquiries. I was comped for meals and freebies before on my last night, I ended up in the V.I.P. room where I was put in touch with Danny Smith, an executive slot host, who left me returning home thoroughly satified with my stay.
Thanks to all at the Aladdin, I can't wait to return in August.

Contrary to what many folks have said about Aladdin hotel, it is a very nice casino with excellent rooms. I upgraded to the resort room and found it to be very spacious, my spouse commented about how large the room was. She has been to Vegas before and has stayed at Excalibur, Imperial, and the Mirage. The bathroom were very nice, but the bathtub seems a little out of place.

Our room had an excellent view of the Bellagio fountains. The location for Aladdin was excellent, right on the strip, we spent most of our time either in the Desert Passage shopping mall below, or at the Forums in Caesars Palace. Getting to the rooms was actually easier than I thought, the parking below leads right up to the folks at check in. From there, there are two separate elevators that will lead you to either the North or South towers.

The food at Aladdin was excellent, PF Changs is a very good restauraunt. I loved the Spice Market Buffet, it offered an excellent variety of dishes, but just keep in mind that it is pretty expen$ive. Dinner cost $45 for myself and my wife. I didn't have time to sample the other restaurants because we were always out and about.

The gambling environment at Aladdin was pretty average I thought. Stay away Nancy, the dealer who usually works the blackjack tables. That lady is rude and has no sense of humor. On the otherhand, Kent is a pleasurable person to deal with. He was nice and made some funny jokes.

My final analysis is that if you want high quality at a good value, stay at Aladdin. The location is excellent, if you have a wife that loves to shop like me, you've got the best of both worlds, a mall right below and the forums shops at Caesars are like 10 walking minutes away.

The financial troubles The Aladdin is suffering were clearly evident during our stay. Corners are being cut and amentities are lacking, but I would still recommend the hotel and casino.

Hotel: The lobby is a floor below the casino. Nothing grand or spectacular here, just a hotel lobby. We had requested a non-smoking room, and at many hotels (especially LV) that means lower floors & crummy views. After going up to the 8th floor we decided to try a smoking room on a higher floor. The clerk who helped us change rooms was helpful and courteous and put a rush on our new room on the 34th floor.

Room: The smoking room did not smell AT ALL--even the chairs and upholstered headboard. It was called a "Strip Suite", but the hotel has since changed the name since not all of those rooms had a view of the strip. We payed $150/night for a Sun+Mon stay. For the price, the ROOM was well worth it. More of a mini-suite, since the bed was not in a separate room, but this was more than made up for by the huge bathroom with a great view even while seated in the round soaking tub. But when it came to thoughtful details and luxury, it was clear that the money ran out before the hotel's doors opened. Two rough towels, cheap toiletries, no lighted makeup mirror (although that was obviously the plan since there's a stool at the counter, but no mirror to use there), poor lighting plan in bathroom, no jets in the tub, no mini-bar...these omissions were glaring since the physical room was so pleasant on its own.

Restaurants: only ate at the coffee shop (Zanzibar Cafe) and it was pretty average. the late night service there was apallingly bad, but food was OK.

Casino: Just like anywhere else, some fun dealers, some boring, but no one was rude. Drink service at table games was good, but nonexistent the few times I tried the (tight) slots.

Location: very good! We could watch the Bellagio fountains (no noise) from our room. Paris :) was right next door. Shopping mall right downstairs. If I could get another great rate, I would stay at the Aladdin again, knowing not to expect 5 stars, more like 3 1/2.

I am a medium-roller. I save to go out to Vegas and like to go fairly first class. Venetian , Bellagio , etc. Free room offers with free play of $300.00 made me want to spent 2 nights at Alladin. My Host from last year had gotten laid off as a result of 9/11 and I was left in the hands of an incompetent bitchy host - more on that later. Decent, clean room overlooking the fountains of Bellagio but the air vent was directly across from the bed and froze me but only when you're in bed. I like the sandlewood scent of the bath products here - others complain but it's nice and haunting. I hit for a nice Jackpot ($1,800.00) on my freeplay but the tables were tight for me and no 3-card poker until noon . And then only 1 table...I see that more than not on the Strip except for Bellaigo , which has 2 or 3. Excellent location , no doubt but I didn't like the India-Bazaar atmosphere. I expected to see handicapped and maimed beggars. Charged all meals to the room and after trying to make contact w/ a host once a day - there was never one available in the V.I.P. area. The day I checked-out- I waited 10 minutes while they "beeped" her . She tapped into the computer and sniffed " Well , you played enough to have the room comped but not the food." Not quite sure how it works in Vegas but in A.C. - you get a free room by your previous play . How can they offer you a free room for several nights and go back on the deal at the end of the trip ? So , I ended up ahead play-wise but paying for meals. Staff seems over-worked. The Elemis Spa was lovely and I got the very best facial I ever received in my life. Players and Guests are the life's blood of Vegas and I will never stay at Alladin again for how I was treated by my "virtual host"... Ghost-host. A first-rate place knows to speak to people politely whether you can help them out or not. Alladin cannot afford to be rude to a single client. They've lost my buisness and I've no reason to return. Also , their fire alarm seems to to off for hours both times I visited causing headaches and general anxiety - get it together , guys.

Upon this trip to las vegas I remembered why I chose to never stay here again.
I had stayed at this hotel before, parking was WAAaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy (Echo Way way way way) Far from the checkin and rooms, had to wander through the shops/mall, Played quite a bit, never played anywhere tighter. completely down for that trip. So I figured while i was in town again I would use the coupon i recived in the mail for $25 In free play, *(and NO WHERE AT ALL did it say "must be a guest of hotel to use coupon)
Upon going to the players club was told "sorry you have to be staying at the hotel to be able to use this coupon". I kindly said No where on this does it state that and I had recived deals in the mail with that stipulation before.
Responce recived was "Well it dosen't matter you have to be a hotel guest"
I replied thank you and walked out the door to NEVER return.
Being a regular in vegas I would and Do expect better service and have recived it at many locations, but never at the aladin and Everyone wonders why they already almost went bankrupt. apparently they forgot rule #1 customer comes FIRST.

This is the second time I've stayed at the Aladdin. My first was a month after they had first opened in 2000. In both cases I have to say that I was very happy. The only problem with this stay was I let my friend make the arrangements. He went through a discount room website and reserved a "run of the house" type room. So even though we checked in "early" around 11:30AM the day of, the Aladdin only had a room with a king sized bed in a room that was designed for handicapped guests. So we had to flip to see who slept on the roll-away (I lost).

They were a little slow getting the bed to the room, but other than that it was a great stay. The clerk checking us in was very helpful and did everything he could to "make things better". I was happy that they didn't make us wait until later on in the day to check-in as some casinos make you do.

The cocktail service was quick and attentive - I was playing craps, slots and blackjack. I didn't try any of the restaurants this time, but can recommend P.F. Changs from previous experience.

The location of the Aladdin made it very convenient to get up and down the strip with a minimum of effort. It was easy to cross the street to the Bellagio to catch the tram to the Monte Carlo and then a quick walk to NYNY and other points south. Going north wasn't a problem either, just a long walk. In some cases we just cabbed it.

I would absolutely recommend staying at the Aladdin. Great rooms that were very quiet for being so full. The closet space leaves little room for any amount of clothes, but overall a great stay.

Great rooms, great location, the best LV buffet and the best shopping (Desert Passage) on the strip. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Two concerns, self parking is horrible so valet park and avoid a half mile walk. Secondly, like most large strip casinos no full pay video poker machines. However, the property is beautiful and the rates are very reasonable. I would stay here again.

After staying for three nights in one of their "Strip View Suites" I can understand why this property has had problems. While on the surface the room was nice, it just seems like the management didn't go an extra step or two to really elevate the quality of the room in the design phase. With the runored problems, they have clearly started cutting costs on simple things which add up to create a "cheap" feel about the place. You get one towel each, forget about simple things like a sewing kit or cotton swabs, and the quality of the toiletries is pretty low.

The room we had should have been a spacious 850 square feet. However, because of a really odd room layout, a good portion of it is wasted and serves no purpose. In fact, because of the low cieling, a large pole in the middle of the room, and large portions of untilized space, the room actually feels dark and cramped.

About half the space is in the bathroom. Again, while this large bathroom is nice in concept, it just misses the mark as it features several poorly thought out features. For example, there is no bathroom door. There is also one light switch which turns on all the lights in the bathroom, including one in the separate commode area. So, when my wife went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, she needed to turn on all the bathroom lights which effectively woke me up as there is no door and no separate light switch for just the commode area. Also, for the ladies the mirror placement presents a problem. There are two large mirrors on either side of the double-sink, bathroom counter. However, the chair only fits under the cut-out in the center of the counter. They have this great marble counter which is effectively wasted in function by a stupid design flaw which puts the mirrors about 3.5 feet from the chair.

The same with the bathtub. They have a large, spacious bathtub which should be a great feature. However, the were cheap about it and didn't go the extra step and make it into a jacuzzi. While that is a minor issue, it just adds to the fact that they didn't think about detail when they built the place.

We paid an average of $390 a night for the suite. At that rate, they are competing against the standard room at the Bellagio and Venetian. The quality is way below either of those locations. For a standard room, I understand they are not competing against those properties. However, what does it say about the management when they can't make an effort to provide simple things to their highest paying guests.

A few other general comments. This without a doubt was the hardest mattress I've ever slept on. It had virtually no give to it and felt like sleeping on the floor. Also, cabbies seem to have this place on the bottom of their list. Long lines each and every time simply because of the lack of waiting cabs.

For some this might not be a bad choice. The location is nice and it probably does a decent job when competing against the value end of the market. If you stay, do so because the rate is appealing. If you are thinking their Suites might provide a better value than Bellagio or Venetian, they don't. Whether it was intended to be so or not, this is clearly a hotel that best serves the budget end of the market.

I wanted to comment on my stay at the Aladdin on a prior visit. For one thing, the Aladdin did not get a 4.5 star rating for nothing; a rating higher than all other resorts on the strip except for the Ballagio and Venetian. I personally think it is a fabulous adult oriented hotel that has been unfairly slandered by the competition and fical people. When I go to Vegas, I am not interested in staying at hotels with roller coasters or amusements parks circling the place; I enjoy the adult/mature atmosphere, and the Aladdin has just that. I checked into a standard room on the opposite side of the building from the strip, and I was quite impressed with that. Even the standard room is luxurious. The room was quite large and tastefully furnished, exactly they way it is shown on the Aladdin internet site and the bathroom was beautiful with marble all over and ample supplies of toiletries. I was also impressed with the low cost internet access available in the room. Therefore, I have decided to book my next stay at the Aladdin again. The hotel gave me an excellent deal on one of their strip suites that I could not refuse, which is located at the apex of the building @ 850 sq. ft which is quite large for a suite, considering that suites normally size at about 700 sq. I will have it all to my self for four days, and I am looking forward to the indulging myself in Aladdin's luxury again.

I stayed there in may of 2002. The shuttle bus dropped us off at the parkade entrance. For such a beautiful hotel I thought that they would make a better lobby entrance! I mean who wants to be dropped off in a parkade?! But I guess thats just being overly fussy. The lobby was large, and very nice but I noticed that there were no chairs or anything to sit on while waiting w/ heavy luggage to check in or out! Moving on, the front desk clerk was EXTREMLY friendly! I asked for a room upgrade and got it w/ no fuss or questions asked! We get to our room 1432 and I was sooo pleased! First thing I noticed was the luxurious bathroom...beautifully accented with french doors...also had his and her's vanity, a seperate little room for the toilet and a stand up shower (with a bench inside) and of course the piece de resistance....the TUB!! It was very large and very deep...very nice to relax in after a long day of gallovanting on the strip. THe taps of the sink and tub were in little shapes of aladdin laterns! How adorable! The bed was big and comfy...but the tv was positioned poorly in the room...it was on a very wierd angle and couldn't be watched while lying in bed. There was a safe, iron board/iron, computer/desk, couch, coffee table. No coffee though! THe best part about the room was definitly the VIEW!! We had an amazing view of the Bellagio Fountains, Paris Eifel Tower and Aladding swimming pool. Absolutly breath taking! Overall the room definitly exceeded my expectations. If you're hungry make sure to go to the buffet at the Aladdin....sooo much selection. From mexico to Italy to good ol' American...there was so much food from all different places! Very good service.
THe location of the Aladdin was also great. Right across from Bellagio and next to Paris. I would make it a point to visit the Aladdin again and again. Excellent room, excellent service and excellent SHOPPING!!! The shopping was insane! you could literally spend your whole trip inside the hotel and not get bored! Another thing that i thought was neat was the fact that there was a simulated thunder storm that took place right in the middle of the hotel shopping area! Very interesting. Aladdin is a great place to visit or stay.

Just being renovated, the room /carpet is clean, but the a/c is noisy and the vent blows air directly right to the beds, which is very annoying to say the least. Housekeeping is OK, but not thorough: some dirty marks on sheets, hair left in bathtub! Room is spacious, especially the bathroom with plenty of counter space. Could use more lightings, and a microwave in the room would be cool...

This hotel has some of the best rooms on the strip. But still, Las Vegas does not know how to treat someone who is not a gambler. I was there on convention business (as every LV trip). It is difficult for me to make the change from 1st rate treatment & upgrades elsewhere as a frequent business traveler to being treated like a poor cousin in LV because I do not gamble. I don't know why organizations book conventions in LV, clearly the only thing these guys do well is take care of high-rollers.

We had a great time here. The weather turned bad so we spent most of our time on the hotel property. The casino is great - the personnel are friendly and the dealers are a lot of fun. The restaurants we tried were all very good with reasonable prices. We loved the Desert Passage shopping mall. We have stayed at Bally's, Mirage, MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay and we would come back to the Aladdin again.

Although I haven't been to Vegas in several years we decided to stay at the Aladdin Resort & Casino; previous stays were at the Mirage, Treasure Island, Luxor, etc.

The property itself is beautiful to look at but beware of poor service. The best part of our three day stay was the check-in process, the host was very friendly & helpful, from that point forward the stay was riddled with bad attitude & at best, fair service.

I'm not a BIG gambler but my first time at the Crap table I dropped $800. I left my player card in my chip tray for the pit bosses to see... which they did & ignored. Perhaps my wagers just were not high enough to grab their attention. I also played Caribbean Stud poker for many hours & again was ignored. The good news I guess is that the machines can't refuse your card, unfortunately I rarely play slots & if I do it is for short periods on $.25 machines. I couldn't help noticing while playing at the Mirage & MGM their pit bosses made it a point to ASK if we were staying at their property, as other players came & left they were always asked the same thing... and were registered immediately. One Caribbean Stud dealer actually enjoyed you losing, she would sneer at you, seriously. Other players & myself found it amusing, her table was empty in a matter of minutes... what a shock huh?

The room included a bathroom that was outstanding including a large soaking tub. On two different occasions room service knocked on our doot & then just entered... really. Once I was relaxing in the room chair enjoying the view, the other time in the shower. Goodness give my 10 seconds to get to the door already! :-)

The 1 pool that was open!!! was very small, the other closed. Just as we sat down to relax in the afternoon sun we were informed the pool was closing at 5:00... 5:00 I say!!! Only time for one drink, ok two. Oh well time to clean up & head out for another night... away from Aladdin of course. Yes believe it or not I lost my money AGAIN!!! :-)

The buffet restaurant & PR Changs are both very good, the food was outstanding & the service was great. The Desert Passage mall is also beautiful & worth exploring. You can stop by enjoy these while staying at a friendly property elsewhere in Vegas.

We were having a hard time figuring out why the Aladdin casino was virtually empty when others near by were so crowded... please see above.

Another highlight of our stay was the ease of catching a cab to go other casinos to gamble & to Fremont St. for some good fun.

Our next trip to Vegas will not include a stay at the Aladdin... even if the view of the strip is nice. We will stay elsewhere where the dealers, bartenders, pit bosses and everyone else makes us feel welcome & makes it FUN to lose my $$$

The Aladdin could be a wonderful property if half of the staff didn't act like they dreaded their job. Perhaps they are overworked or something.

Isn't attitude, attitude, attitude like location, location, location :-)

Good luck in Vegas & HAVE FUN!

Didn't rate the site last time I was there so figured I'd do it now. When we arrived at the
hotel, we didn't know that the lobby was so far from the parking garage. Word of caution:
check in and drop off your bags, then park your car. If not, you'll have to walk through the
parking garage and the mall to finally get to the casino and make it to your room. When,
we finally checked in, we asked about free room upgrades. We were told that a strip
view would be available for $20 a night. My husband and I were not aware of the 20/50/
100 rule so were stuck with our mountain facing room which was very nice. The tub was
quite large and a pleasant surprise for a standard room. The curtains were nice and
heavy which helped us sleep in after long nights of gambling. Overall, we were quite
impressed with the rooms. The pool was small and the hours were very limited. The slot
machines were very tight. I would recommend staying at this hotel due to its nice rooms
and fabulous location.

After reading all the negative comments about the Aladdin, I was scared to death to stay at this hotel. After all, it was my 40th birthday and I really wanted my day to be special. It was the best birthday I have ever had!. We checked into the hotel around 10:00. Jannice and her supervisor checked us in. We told them that we wanted a room with a stip view. We got the room without any hassles. They were very polite, friendly and very professional. They gave us a coupon book which had some really great discounts to the restaurants and casino. When we walked into our room we were in awe. The room was overlooking the fountains at the Bellagio. It was absolutely beautiful. The room was very clean and furnished very nicely. I loved the big bathroom and the big tub. It was great. I also want to mention the restaurant Elements. Philip was our waiter and was very professional and the service was impeccable. The steaks were excellent. The hotel is very fortunate to have such great employees such as Jannice and Philip. It is very refreshing to have found such a great hotel with wonderful service and friendly staff. Kudos to all of you. My husband and I will definetly be back. We have also highly recommended your hotel to our friends and family.

Good value for Easter weekend, I booked for $89/night when all the other hotels were quoting $200/night. But there were a few problems. First, the valet entrance is off on a side entrance, and when you are on that strip it is a hassle to manuever even one block. Valet service is marked full, even though they had a limited staff to take the car/luggage. We almost begged them to get help for us. Stood in line over a half hour at noontime to ck in, only to get the put off until 3:30. When that time rolled around, they suggested we try back at 5:30, then we got put off til 7:30 pm. For our wait, they gave us a Zanzibar rest. coupon and that was nice, but a big inconvenience. The rooms were spacious and the bath was a plus. Housekeeping not very good, and the phones didn't work. The pool was way too small, and not open past 5pm. Not a thing for kids, this is an adult casino. At the casino, the hopper went empty on several slot machines, and the wait is very long. I guess they don't expect to pay off. Parts of our stay was aggravating, and other parts was great. We enjoyed the PF Chang restaurant, and the brunch at the spice market buffet. Even the Zanzibar was fine. Mixed review, just beware.

Stayed at Aladdin first time in March. We had hoped to get a room on higher level overlooking the Bellagio fountains and we were not disappointed. The young lady who cheerfully checked us in was very accomodating. Our room was on 33rd floor and the view was absolutely stunning. My wife and I enjoyed watching the strip action and the fountains after a long day. We would definitely return to the Aladdin.....particularly if we can get a strip-view room again. All in all it was a pleasant stay at a great strip location. Too bad they have to charge for high speed internet connections in room.

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Aladdin. We will not return. While the location of the hotel is excellet--walk across the street to the Bellagio, this is the last time we will stay there. We have stayed at Harrah's and Mandalay Bay previously. While the Aladdin is a cut above Harrah's, it cannot be compared to Manadalay Bay. Aladdin touted its bathrooms as elegant. While there is a large soaking tub, it looks like a wash tub at a dog groomer's. No decking around the tub---just the tub. One sink in the bathroom. While the shower is separate, the water pressure is low.

After reading many negative reviews about this property, I decided to rate my visit of March, 2002. Stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for a total of about $300. The room was nice, with a large TV, comfortable bed, and extremely nice bathroom. The bathroom had seperate shower and tub, plus the toilet was in it's own seperate little room. The fancy bathroom made little difference to me, since I always shower and don't care if the tub and shower see me going to the john. Window in the room was very small. The view was of the pool area and the mountains in the distance. I played video poker at the bar near the front entrance, the first night, and got all the free drinks I wanted. The bartender was entertaining and considerate. The coffee shop is a little more expensive than some on the strip, but the food was very good for breakfast. The slots seemed to be very tight, and after dropping $200 on them, I quit playing them at the Aladdin. Room service food was good and expensive, but room service is always expensive everywhere. Decent location next to Paris and across the street from Bellagio. The desert passage shopping mall next door is huge and worth checking into. I've stayed at quite a few hotels all over the country, and I would rate this one in the top ten percent. The casino, on the other hand, is only average with tight slots. I would stay here again, if I got a good rate.

I found your site after making our reservations at the Aladdin. I was a bit worried because there were many negative comments about this property. Our stay was very very good. We checked in on Sunday afternoon. Denise was the person at the front desk who helped us. She told us they didn't have a room like we had requested available, but immediately offered to upgrade us (at no cost) to a suite. We had a wonderful view out our window toward the west-end of the strip. We played quite a bit at the casino. I hit two large jackpots there. Everyone we dealt with was very nice. I did notice that the cocktail waitress were a bit far and few in between. (I think the economy had something to do with that though because we noticed that at several of the casinos). Our room was not cleaned until around 4:00 in the evening, but overall, I would highly recommend staying at the Aladdin. Our stay was very pleasant.

Not really sure, we were on our honeymoon and had never been to Vegas before. First off, the rates posted online were not the rates they give you. Online: 79.00, best actual: 89.00. Not much difference but still a difference. Received a free breakfast at Zanzibar Cafe'.....they should have paid us for the food, not very good. Rooms were pretty nice, not very sound proof, but decent size and bathroom was good, if plain. Very large place, with overpriced shops everywhere and horrible service at the Desert Passage restaurants. Overall, I guess it was a nice place, but I'll be checking around some of the other resorts before coming back.

I loved the Aladdin. We stayed for one week and the service was wonderful. We were there with 3 other families - each had a nine month old and the had a great time. The rooms were perfect size, the bathrooms were amazing! The service was wonderful - in fact, we had put signs on the door when the babies were sleeping and the maid service actually put off vaccuuming the halls and surrounding rooms until the kids were awake.

The food was great, the casino was never overpacked, The london club is a nice place to relax and get away from the loud noise of the casino.

Stayed again in March of 03 and became VIP club members, without too much effort. Yesterday we received a free 3 night stay - no restrictions.

Great location - easy to get everywhere! Love it!

Having stayed at several hotels in Las Vegas, I'm truly fussy about room quality. My room on floor 37 was extremely nice. This hotel has the best housekeeping on the strip. Since I had booked through Expedia, my $49.00 room rate was for a standard room only, which was fine. It was still a good sized room with a large marble bath. The view from my room was the Bellagio hotel & it's fountains. A beautiful sight. For those of you who've stayed in several hotels in Vegas, the rooms at Aladdin are VERY similar to the tower rooms at the Luxor. Layout, bath, etc....very similar. However, the Luxor rooms are getting tacky & worn out looking. Aladdin's rooms are still pretty fresh, and well maintained. A couple of negatives: Soundproofing of rooms is poor. Outside traffic noise, fire trucks etc, easily invade your room. Also, if you stay in the front side of the hotel (facing strip) you may notice strong cooking odors invading your room during the day. This is because the food court in the Desert Passage mall exhausts to the front of the hotel. These odors rise up the side of the building, and are brought into your room by your heating/cooling system. My room smelled like grilled chicken every day. Closet space is barely enough for one person for two days. Be prepared to keep your clothes in your suitcase. Also, when anyone near your room fills the bathtub, you will hear the plumbing until they turn the water off. (That could include romantic baths at 2:00 a.m.) Plumbing noises are louder than I've ever heard in any hotel. Food is generally overpriced. AVOID the 24 hour coffee shop....Zanzibar. It is grossly overpriced, with extremely poor service. I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice, and received a plate of Rice-a-Roni, with four salad shrimp placed on the top. Cost--$13.00 Also, the Starbuck's located next door charged me $2.77 for 1/2 pint of skim milk. My only vocal complaint to the staff at Starbuck's was that I was sorry to hear all of the cows in Nevada had died, and they were forced to import the expensive milk from Wisconsin. Like all hotels, Aladdin has layed off substantial amounts of staff. Few bellman, front desk staff, and casino employees were the norm. Hours for restaurants & retail shops varied wildly. Business is obviously bad, and they simply open & close when they please. This practice was going on at ALL strip hotels.

I was a little apprehensive about staying at the Aladdin because of all the negative comments I had read on this site but we wanted to give it a try. Well, all the bad stuff we read about happened to us as well. First off, we were made to carry our luggage through the Desert passage shops and the casino before getting to check in because we had to use the Valet parking in the back(it was 6 pm and the Valet told us that we should have been there earlier before the show started-it didn't start til 8-no tip for you). When we finally made it to the check in desk the clerk was a little snotty! Anyway, when we asked for a room with a veiw of the strip we were told all they had was an upgrade room or a veiw of the mountains-which in Vegas means a parking lot and the tops of other buildings-Whatever! So when we got to our room we found that it wasn't even made up yet and had to wait an extra 20 minutes for anyone to show up with a key for a new room. When we got to our new room it was nice enough but I was in a pretty pissed off mood and tried to find a room at the Luxor- but unfortunately they were full for the evening. We also had to call for extra towels and glasses which they forgot. I remembered reading about the water in the room and how they charge you if you open it and I noticed there was none in our room so I called the front desk. I just said that I wanted to let them know there was no water to start off with so I wouldn't be charged the $4.50 USD for the bottle and the guy on the other end said"Water is left in EVERY romm when it is made up." I told him there is none in here but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be charged for it. Again I was treated with a VERY snotty attitude. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again,we didn't put a dime into there slots or eat at any of their restaurants, and I sure will tell everyone who'll listen to stay away from the Aladdin. If your planning a trip to Vegas take my advice and stay away from this hotel. My husband and I are not really picky people, we just expect to be treated with a little respect when we're paying for a service and we didn't find any here.

After reading all the bad reviews I was hesitant on staying there, but to my
surprise it turned out to be a very nice hotel. Checkin only took 5 min. and we were in our room by the next 5 min. The bathroom was "BIG". The most important thing was location, location, location. The hotel is in the perfect location to walk to any where you wanted to on the south strip. Casino was very friendly, expect to wait for a drink though. Since 9/11 alot of hotels have had to cut down on staff so waiting for a drink anywhere in Vegas has be come the norm.
Only unfriendly service was at the casino bar. Bald bartender there was rude, nasty and had a attitude. I found hotel to be very clean, had no problem with hot water (plenty of it). My only real complaint was the walking distance from the parking area to the hotel, you had go thru the desert passage mall then thru the casino. Much to long of a walk with luggage. I would stay there again.

Stayed at the Aladdin for two nights at the beginning of December. Booked a package through Southwest, so everything was set from the moment I arrived. Check-in was a breeze, was given strip-view room up high that meant plenty of lights at night. Room was in good shape, very spacious with one king, and the bathroom was beautiful with a deep soaking tub and separate shower. Service was excellent in almost every aspect, from getting a bag brought to the room or room service.

Overall, the casino area is well laid out. Elevators are just off the casino and check-in, so no need to lug any bags past a craps table to get to your room. Dealers were very good and knowledgeable, always willing to give advice on this or that, even if it was something outside of the Aladdin. Table games were only in half use on Sunday and Monday nights, something not seen in the other casinos visited (Paris, Bally's, Bellagio, Caesars and Mirage). One great benefit, though, is that the strip entrance is right near the street. No need to dodge cars as they go by trying to get to check-in.

Only restaurant tried was the Spice Market Buffet, and it is very good. Several stations available for lunch, including many ethnic varieties. Food was very well-prepared, although it is one of the pricier buffets around.

I had heard many disparaging remarks about the Aladdin prior to going, but chose it over several others at around the same price (Monte Carlo, New York/New York, Luxor). Overall, I'm glad I did. This would be a place I would seriously consider staying at again.

My stay here was good except for one problem. The room safe did not work because it needed a new battery. I had security come up once I discovered this. They told me it was a maintenance problem. I was tired and opted to take care of it in the morning.

I made the first call at 9:00 AM. The operator tried to pass me off to security. At this point, I explained the situation to her and asked that she please send up someone from maintenance.

After sitting in my room for 45 minutes, I became bored and was also getting hungrier by the minute. I called maintenance back, and once again the operator tried to convince me that it was security's problem, not theirs. I had to explain, for the second time, that maintenance had to replace the battery. I then asked if it was necessary for me to wait in my room for maintenance. The operator said no, she would send someone up.

About a minute after I hung up the phone, security called! The gentleman said I had to wait because security could do nothing unless I was present. I told my story for the third time. I also agreed that I would stay put until the safe was fixed.

Fortuneately, the third time was the charm. At 10:45 AM, Carlos from maintenance showed up. He had the battery replaced in less than five minutes. I gave him a five dollar tip for doing his job. Aside from the first security person from the night before, he was the only competent person who tried to deal with this situatiion!

If anyone from the Aladdin is reading this post, I have two suggestions:

1. Do not dismiss what your customers are saying out of hand. LISTEN TO THEM! They nay be more familiar with the problem than you are.

2. Hire more people. I waited almost two hours to have a simple problem fixed. This is inexcusable. I was on vacation. Not only is my time valuable, I should have to sit in my room dealing with hunger and boredom. I had money to solve both of these problems!

The Good: I booked my stay through Expedia and got a great deal on a standard king room. The room was excellent with the only exception being the smallish wardrobe provided for hangable items. Each room has a very large bathroom with both a shower and a large soaking tub. The most useful feature was a high speed flat panel web browser that can be activated for $10 per day. In addition to using it to catch up on my e-mail it saved me a lot of time selecting restaurants and entertainment. Access to rooms at the Aladdin is a real joy for three reasons. First, the sunken lobby provides direct access to the parking garage so you never have to walk miles through the casino as you must in other resorts. Second, the elevators are smooth and quick. I don't recall waiting more than a few moments for an elevator at any time. Finally, the elevators are located close to the entrance to the Desert Passage at the casino level. In general I found the staff to be helpful, friendly, and professional.

The Bad: The Spice Market Buffet, while nice, was nowhere near being worth the $18.00 per person price tag. I also felt that the food at the Zanzibar Cafe was barely passable at best, and a simple breakfast was $15.00 including tip. Not all the in house restaurants were disappointing - P.F. Changs was both outstanding and inexpensive.

The Ugly: One afternoon during my stay I had returned to my room for a short nap before going out for the evening. It was 4:00 on the afternoon and the maid had already been by. I was taking a shower, when I heard a knock at the door, and immediately afterward someone attempted to open the door. I shouted and they left. I called the desk to report the incident and was told that the staff checks each occupied room in the mid-afternoon to make sure it's occupied. In other words, they were checking to make sure I hadn't snuck off without paying my bill! Not only did I think this was strange since my bill was paid in full (I had booked through Expedia) and had left $150 on deposit to cover phone and incidental charges, but frankly felt a bit offended that the Aladdin was checking up on me in this way. It seems to me that if you run off all the decent clientele this way all you will have left are customers you DO need to keep an eye on.

Summary: Almost Caesar's Palace, but with some rough edges. I expect them to improve as they gain experience.

This hotel is only 2-3 years old. Your own room window is the best place to watch Ballegio water works. At night sit in your comfortable chair in front of the window and watch this beautiful show as long as you want. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Casino is frendly with good drink offers. Aladdin's international buffet is the best buffet in Vegas...great steaks, seafood, and mouth waterin international cuisine. I stay there every year.

Beautiful rooms and baths. Lots of variety in the casino. However, unless you catch a very good special on the room rates, the average cost is too high. For the life of me, I can't understand some of the bad reviews I've been reading (although the GOOD reviews outnumber the bad about 10-to-1). We've stayed at the Aladdin numerous times and have never been dissatisfied. In fact, we will be staying there again the week of November 23rd to celebrate our 46th anniversary! Got a super rate of $29/night by being a Player's Club member, but would have stayed here at an even higher regular rate. Yes, Mandalay Bay and even the Venetian are a little more luxurious, but you will pay the price to stay there - you definitly will not get a rate below $99! I love the Aladdin, and the arabian decor, and just hope the Planet Hollywood folks down turn it into a cheap Hollywood decor!

We got a great rate to try this place shortly after it opened. The entry to the hotel (winding drive through very ugly and deserted parking area) is not nice at all - not the greatest first impression. The service at the desk was very competent and nice. The decor was rather cheesy a la treasure island. The room was just ok - the bathroom was huge but extremely bare and dark. The carpeting is rather awful throughout the hotel. The food was mediocre at best. What I loved about this place was the mall and the restaurants in the mall. I had a great time wandering throughout this well laid out and pleasing to be in shopping area. It is a shame that the performers that were promised where hardly around. I did see one contortionist getting warmed up and he was quite impressive. The best part of the hotel complex is the outside of the mall area. It is really lovely archetecturally - great colors on the buildings and I love the lighting in the mall. The hotel amenities are really just ok. I would go to this place again but only if it were extremely cheap and other like level establishments were booked. I can hop over and enjoy the mall from any place. Under normal circumstances though I will certainly not be back.

I love The Aladdin. Big, clean, friendly staff. Nice casino with helpful free gaming classes. Excellent buffet. You do NOT have to walk through the casino with your luggage when you check in. We were too busy to check out the pool (I hear it's small).

I stayed at the Alladin over Memorial Day, 2001. I got asked for and received a room upgrade, which was fantastic. The room was lovely, the bathroon was large and beautiful. I think the buffet is the best on the strip - good quality, lots of variety, and the chocolate crepes are sumptuous!
Despite the Memorial Day crowds, the casino was not packed, which was nice.

Read some horrible things but got a great deal so we risked it.
Glad we did. Rooms a very nice, bathrooms are huge! Location can't really be beat for center strip. Cleaning service was fast and efficient, even got to my room after I called at 4pm after being in and out of the room all day. Only half the pool was open and no drink service, a let down to be sure, but it was only March. Casino was nice, always some $5 craps tables open!

We stayed in September 2000 and it was great. The staff were very helpful in sorting out a room for us that was high and overlooked the fountains. The windows were a little small but the bathroom was brilliant. I l,oved the casino nice and airy and light and the slots seemed fair. Food was good I have more comments on my site www.vegasuncovered.com.

Spent our last two Vegas Vacations at the Aladdin and thought it was absolutely wonderful. We had a great time gambling and eating at the Spice Market Buffet and the Lamp Bar was super in the VP area. Hit two Royals last time. Would not stay anywhere else. Staff and other employees were attentive and quick for every need. Never had to wait for hand pays or fill.
Housekeeping was wonderful. Rooms were excellent and loved the bathrooms.

The last time I stayed at the Aladdin was for a freebie slot tournament over the Fourth of July in 2001. Overall I had a pleasant experience and won a little money in the tournament to boot. I did have some difficulty in getting assigned a slot host. The first host basically pushed us off onto a relatively new (and young) host that seemed to know what to do -- just couldn't figure out how to do it. The major complaint I have with Aladdin is the noisy casino floor. My husband and I found the London Club on the second floor which was much more to our liking. Private with excellent service! Of course, the lowest denomination machines were $1.00 slots and VP machines but you could still plunk a dollar at a time in the machines and still be treated pretty decently. Room was fairly large, comfortable etc. The dinner for the slot tournament players was very nice, gourmet all the way and run very professionally. Dessert Passage is interesting and unique but last time I was in Vegas (March 2002) and visited it was very, very empty and kind of scary. Walked it once and left. Would I stay there again? If I were comped the room again, probably. Pay to stay??? No Way!

We didn't stay at Aladdin but visited the casino a couple of times during our one-week stay in Las Vegas. The service in the casino was deplorable. When the slot machines my wife and I were playing ran out of coins, we waited for at least 15 minutes to try to get an attendant to fill them. We never saw an attendant that would acknowledge us. Finally, my wife went to look for somebody and the person she talked to was rude and sarcastic. After he came over, he put a note on both machines then left and didn't come back for another 15 minutes. So, we lost 30 minutes waiting for casino service. Plus, on our way out, the person at the change booth was very rude to a different person who was in front of us. We visited about 20 casinos while we were in Las Vegas and never had to wait for service as long as we did in Aladdin. And, never have we seen such rudeness from somebody who worked at a casino. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but Aladdin if you want to receive the service you expect.
