Date Visited: 12/03 - Good Visit We love this place for the deals. We generally go sun-thurs to vegas so we get the best room prices. $10.85 a night with their special rates was great. The website has players club coupons for all the kitschy logo paraphanalia as well as 2for1 buffets. The buffet is adequate, but at $10 for dinner for 2, you can't beat the price. Those coupons work for breakfast and lunch too. Stay away from the shrimp. Ask for the cut of the prime-rib you want. The sports book has a number of TV's and although they are not large, you are seated close enough to enjoy the game. Free t-shirts or hats with your bet of 15 bucks or more and players club coupon. We are not big gamblers, but play the video poker and BJ and have been able to get a number of items from the players club. They have also sent by mail deals for $19 rooms second nite free and other good ones. The front desk is usually on top of things, but new employees seem to take a while to figure out the system. If you don't expect the Mirage or Bellagio, you will be pleasantly surprised by this place. I check their website reservations first every time I stay in Vegas. <mschulteis -at- earthlink.net> - USA - Added 12/24/03 - [209.178.183.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/03 - Good Visit If you want Strip Glitz..you won't find it here..what you will find are a lot of locals..some in suits..some in various strip casino uniforms..an excellent players club..and an undiscovered gem of a coffee shop where excellent food values are the norm. Also one of the few hotels left that offer shuttle service to and from the airport..all you have to do is ask.. Plenty of new video slots..good VP pay tables..casino is busy regardless of the hour..drink service is good.. Rooms are an excellent value..a little dark as far as lighting, but beds are comfy and you get all the usual stuff..coffee maker, hair dryer and such..that you would find in any other Strip property.. Swanky this isnt...but for one of the better values in Las Vegas, I'd book again in a second.. <adz -at- cannet.com> - Canton OH USA - Added 04/24/04 - [65.116.197.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/03 DON'T WALK. Enough said. <Jmako00 -at- aol.com> - St Petersburg FL USA - Added 06/10/03 - [64.12.96***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/03 - Good Visit We stayed here for one night only. Went to Vegas for the Million Dollar Blackjack tournament at the Hilton, but came in a night early and all the strip hotels were too pricey as there was a big convention in town. We booked a room at Terrible's for $29. I was not expecting the Four Season's for what we paid and was a little hesitant after reading some of the comments here. But it was fine. Room was small for Vegas and was on the first floor facing the parking lot, so if we opened the curtains, anyone walking by could see in. You can also hear traffic on Flamingo all night, so if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room facing the courtyard. The lighting was poor, and there is only a half wall separating the sleeping area from the dressing/sink area. (Shower/toilet are separate.) If one of you is sleeping and the other is trying to get dressed, you have to turn on the light in the dressing area, which, as luck would have it, is the only good light in the whole room. BUT, the room was not a connecting room and was far enough down the hall so that we didn't hear any casino noise. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and we even had a coffeemaker! Pool area is nice and very quiet. I think the Cafe is the best kept secret in Vegas! We always eat here. While we were there this time for breakfast, the Herbst brothers, father, and some associates were in having a tasting menu of Mexican food, which they were considering adding to the menu. The food is consistently good, and very, very cheap, and the service is great. We had a $50 food comp and met some friends for dinner. We all had full, excellent meals (prime rib, chicken, pasta) and for six of us after the comp, the bill was $30 including tip! Can't beat it. This is a decent budget option. It's not the Bellagio, but it's not seedy and it's a good value. I prefer larger resorts and almost always stay on the strip, but I would definitely stay here again in a pinch. <hmhaskins -at- hotmail.com> - Lansdale PA USA - Added 08/17/03 - [165.121.84.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/03 - Good Visit Okay, I never stayed at Terrible's, but I did visit the casino. I was getting tired of the huge "mega-resort" casino experiences on the Strip and wanted to try an off-strip place for a change. The casino had a mix of tourists and locals, some pretty darn drunk. However, I'd say I enjoyed my night in the casino. It didn't seem as smoky as I've heard others describe it, and the employees seemed friendly. It has a suprisingly nice Sport Book, with many chairs and TV's. One of the best aspects of the casino is their player's club. The coupon book you receive upon sign-up is pretty nice. I walked out of there with a cool t-shirt, and you could tell the book was sought after because a few of the locals would badger me every once in a while to see if they could have the coupons I didn't use. Also, I just received a first mailer from them offering a free night's stay, with a 2nd for only $19.....a deal that has not been matched by ANY OTHER player's club that I signed up at on the strip. <enposse -at- aol.com> - Bowling Green OH USA - Added 06/23/03 - [129.1.176***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/03 - Bad Visit Put a good report out here about the food values. We travelled to Vegas arriving on the redeye flight early am on January 17, 2003. Checked into our hotel and went to Terribles for one of their "great breakfast". The light night specials were not what they were the first time we ate there. My ham was fat, thin, gristly and tough. My wife's food was no better. When the food is bad the price doesn't matter. It's still a bad value and this was a terrible way to begin our trip. I stayed a week and never went back to Terribles and probably never will. <pahefner01 -at- aol.com> - St. Louis MO USA - Added 01/29/03 - [172.162.90.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/02 SLOW SERVICE. The Casino was full of local rif raf, low life dirt bags, & Trailer Park Trash Vacationers. We looked around and couldn't find a normal looking person in the joint. The tightest slots I have ever seen. Worst Buffet Slop in the world. I will never set foot in this dump again. Worth visiting just for laughs to see how the other half lives and behaves. A good field trip for a mental Health MD to take students on. Don't visit the Vegas Zoo , visit terrible's instead. Just don't waste any money in here. <jzeus4444 -at- hotmail.com> - USA - Added 12/21/02 - [204.17.8***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 12/02 - Bad Visit Run away from this dump!! The rooms are dirty and the staff is extremely rude -- especially Mark Hastings in the Players Club department. I think that they all think that they work at the Bellagio. Well - it's not! In fact, it's the worst hotel I've ever been to and I'll never return. It's only for the toothless locals who don't know the difference. <wreckingcrew -at- ev1.net> - Houston TX USA - Added 01/06/03 - [65.106.222.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 09/02 - Bad Visit Our room had two queen beds that were good, no dressing room to speak of since the wall was cut out so everyone could see you get dressed. Bathroom was extremely small, sit on the toilet and you can't open or close the door. Tub had no stopper to take a bath, took 4 calls before someone fixed it. Water was warm at best. Worst thing was the spa closed at 6 p.m. TOO EARLY! My husband and I would have loved to use it in the evenings when we got back from gambling. The slots also are tight...........................B.S. from Ca. <bsell -at- ocsnet.net> - USA - Added 09/15/02 - [208.19.55***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 08/02 - Bad Visit At least they forwarn you with the name of their casino. We arrived at Terribles at about 11:00 pm. When we arrived, we were told that the hotel was sold out, even though we had made prior reservations, and that there were no more 2 double bed rooms, that we would have to settle for one king bed-for three people. They did offer to bring up a rollaway free of charge, but it sank in the middle, and was extremely uncomfortable. The price was very reasonable, and the air conditioner worked (which is more than I can say for my stay at the San Remo in June!!), but the room was poorly lit (one of the lamps didn't work), and the bathroom was just a shower and a toilet with no flooring in between. This would have been a great place to crash for a couple of hours considering the price of their rooms (very reasonable), but the service we received upon checking in was atrocious. Their upstairs cafe had great twilight prices, considering we got in around 6 am, and ate a full breakfast for $1.99 The cab ride from hard rock or barbary coast isn't too bad, considering where the property sits in relation to the strip. Heed this warning though, call ahead of time and make sure that they have the room that you need. This has happened to friends of mine as well. They overbook their rooms. <sxydragon1 -at- aol.com> - San Diego CA USA - Added 09/24/02 - [12.31.96.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/02 - Bad Visit I DID NOT VISIT THIS PROPERTY, BUT I WANT TO COMMENT ON THEIR MANAGEMENT. I MOSTLY STAY AT BALLY'S OR PARIS WHEN I VISIT BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS COMP ME. BECAUSE I TYPICALLY ARRIVE ON SATURDAYS, I USUALLY HAVE TO FIND A DIFFERENT HOTEL FOR THE FIRST NIGHT BECAUSE OF THE NO SATURDAY ARRIVAL POLICY OR THE SOLD OUT WEEKENDS THERE. I DECIDED I WOULD TRY TERRIBLES, BECAUSE THEY ALLOW SAT ARRIVALS, IT WAS CHEAP AND I LIKE TO CHECK OUT DIFFERENT HOTELS. I WENT TO THEIR WEBSITE AND RESERVED A ROOM, I EVEN RECIEVED AN E-MAIL CONFIRMATION SO ALL SHOULD BE WELL. WHEN I DID MY PRE-TRIP RECONFIRMATIONS WITH AIR, CAR, HOTEL, ECT., I WAS TOLD THAT MY RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED AND THEY WERE SOLD OUT. THEY COULD HOWEVER, GIVE ME THE SAME TYPE ROOM FOR ABOUT DOUBLE THE PRICE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A SOLD OUT HOTEL CAN OFFER A ROOM, OR DENY A CONFIRMED RESERVATION. WHEN I SPOKE TO A SUPERVISOR, SHE WAS LESS HELP. THEY PUT ME IN A BAD SITUATION LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE MY TRIP. I WILL NEVER CHEAP OUT AND TRY AND STAY AT A BACKWOODS DUMP LIKE TERRIBLES AGAIN, I THINK THEIR NAME SAYS IT ALL. <marwar1234 -at- aol.com> - Collinsville IL USA - Added 06/15/02 - [152.163.207***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 05/02 - Bad Visit Wow. Liked the small casino, Kimi at the BJ tables was great. The dealers on the craps table were nice and helped me out. We didn't think it was a bad place to stay if you are not into the glitz of the strip. <culley2 -at- bellatlantic.net> - Greensburg PA USA - Added 05/05/02 - [151.201.41***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 04/02 - Good Visit Spent only one night in Terribles. Unfortunate name for a really fun place. Good price and the rooms were OK. Casino was fun, good slots, good table action. Sunday champaigne buffet was really, really, really great. Not a bad taste to be found on this buffet with fast, friendly service. We had to wait about 40 minites to get in, but I'd wait 40 minutes for this buffet anytime. Too bad my friends and I didn't stay at Terribles for the entire trip instead of moving to the Stratasphere (very bad service). <csing -at- umn.edu> - Minneapolis MN USA - Added 05/06/02 - [160.94.130.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/02 - Undecided I didn't stay at this hotel so disregard the hotel rating. But I spent a lot of time here gambling, watching sports, and hanging at the bar. I have to say that both the comps I received while playing the slots and the relative payouts of the slots were both very good. While a couple of days the slots were tight other days I could gamble for a long time on about $20. I came here every day during my stay to hang for a while before moving on to the Hard Rock Cafe. I was thinking of staying here next trip but I will wait until I get more feedback on the hotel conditions. I think the rates are fabulous. Perhaps people are comparing this hotel to the larger strip hotels that cost a lot more money and can afford to offer better rooms and more personal service. <meklet -at- yahoo.com> - Niagara Falls NY USA - Added 11/21/02 - [216.221.81***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 03/02 - Good Visit This property is hard to beat for its value. The casino is small but has a great selection of machines with full video poker odds. The buffet is an excellent value with breakfast being superior and dinner ok. The rooms are good but great, when you consider what you are paying for them. Slot club is fantastic with many comps and the staff is friendly. Best of all off the strip so no major traffic problems but close enough to do whatever you like. Bottom line is it's not for everyone but it is for me and I'm returning in 10/02 <agilman104 -at- aol.com> - Philadelphia PA United States - Added 08/13/02 - [64.12.103***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 10/01 - Good Visit nice hotel don't let the name fool you, buffett was pretty good tasty bbq, the restaurant was a another story service was slow, and food was not very good the chicken special that's advertised is terrible, hey maybe that's where they got there name from just kidding! oh and one other thing if you want ice remember to buy some in the gift shop it's pretty cheap and they have good prices on beer ect, there's only 3 floors in the hotel and one ice machine per floor so unless you luck out and the ice machine is near your room, or you don't mind a lot of excersize, also if on upper floors try and get a room near elavator because the place is like a giant maze. <rpinedo_62 -at- yahoo.com> - Santa Barbara CA USA - Added 05/01/02 - [161.213.166***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 06/01 Terrible's is a locals casino which proved to be a lot of fun. Small and straght-forward without a lot of glitz. The rooms were functional but plain, the pool was small, the on-site restaurant McDonald's, but hte tables were full and fun (very few high rollers), they served Booker's bourbon to me (a medium dollar player) for free, and they give away Terrible's merchandise which is kinda cool. Overall, a fun, low-dollar hotel and casino. <riverboatbob -at- yahoo.com> - Rutherfordton NC USA - Added 02/09/02 - [208.61.248.***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 01/01 - Good Visit Nice inexpensive place to stay. The rooms are basic but very large. Included coffee pot and hair dryer. The breakfast buffet was $5 and as good as any of the more expensive ones I've eaten at. Included fresh cooked omlettes, french toast and waffles and an icredible selection of fresh fruit. Sunday Brunch included prime rib, shrimp and crab legs for $9. Didn't eat lunch or dinner here. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the prices look great. The casino is a little to smokey at times but the slot club has great returns. 5x play for 12 hours a day and on Thursday and Sunday. We earned free breakfast everyday and several t-shirts and sweat shirts playing one hour per day.... I highly recommend this place for those on a budget. <cliff_clark -at- yahoo.com> - San Jose CA USA - Added 02/19/02 - [32.97.110***] Report This Comment Date Visited: 00/00 The food is not that good and the playing comps are a rip off! <kaderlik -at- hotmail.com> - Las Vegas NE USA - Added 06/25/03 - [67.218.224***] Report This Comment You must judge the truthfulness of any comment and accept responsibility for your use of this information.
