Date Visited: 08/02 - Good Visit
Was there in August 2002, greeted by a rude cab driver who cut us off as we walked to the entrance. At check-in, the women was indifferent, short answers to questions about the resort. Yes, the room needs a major facelift, but it was clean. The room cleaners did a very good job in keeping the bedroom and bathroom orderly and clean each day. The remote stopped working and a new battery didn't help, so a new remote was presented, all within an hour of initially informing the front desk. The pool area was deserted as well as the fitness center even though both were in working condition. The resort isn't glitzy, but it was a decent value and being away from the noise was a plus. You can walk to the strip, but in 100 plus degree weather, we drove everywhere. Though the Hard Rock was right across the street.

Date Visited: 05/02 - Bad Visit
If you enter your room only on the brink of sleep and then immediately eject upon awakening, this place might serve you well. The public areas, particularly the grounds- including the quiet, contemplative pool areas fringed with fragrant blooming flowers and herbs- are a calming periodic respite from casino atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rooms are like a bad flashback to the 70's- all that's missing is green shag carpet. Although we upgraded to a suite in the hope of improving our lot, all we got was additional wrought iron, foil wallpaper, and a whirlpool tub very strangely positioned in the middle of the stairwell. The staff was consistently responsive, accommodating and kind but this place really needs a major deep cleaning and overhaul of the guest rooms. Too bad…the location and so many other aspects are great, but evidently their target market is the one time conventioneer.

My wife and I arrived on a Friday. While getting ready to go out for dinner, we found no water pressure for the tub or shower. 2 calls resulted in nothing being fixed. A man came and checked the tub, and said they would check the pipes the next day. When we went out for the day Saturday, I left a note, and stopped at the front desk, and requested that the water pressure be checked, as well as the heaters which we found not to be working either. When we returned Saturday evening, neither issue had been taken care of. We checked out Sunday morning, and went to the Alladin. They have warm rooms and good showers.

This whole place is like a trip back to the sixties. Nothing has been updated! Cold, unattractive,and completely lacking personality (and that goes for the front desk, too). It took us four calls to get a light bulb changed!

We got a great deal and the room was huge. For my first time in Vegas this place was tops. Families w/children should stay out. (Personally, I don't think Vegas should allow any children.)

I enjoyed the quietness after having been on the strip. The center strip is
about a 20 minute walk -- not bad except in the summer time when the temperature
can exceed 100 degrees F
