We had an enjoyable stay. We stayed in the "Bourbon Tower" and yes it was the furthest away from the casino, but, we didn't think it was really that far. The route to the casino is shorter and not as confusing if you take the outdoor way. Most of all, it just wasn't that far anyway. I've read complaints of no bar soap and bottled shampoo and I just laugh. I'm surprised more hotels don't take that route. Let's face it people, everybody takes their own soap and shampoo and takes the hotels products as a souvenir......RIGHT! It was our first visit to Laughlin and while it's not Vegas in many ways, maybe that's a good thing. We paid just $9.00/night and the room was huge and most of all clean. It completly met our expectations and we will return. We gambled and lost, but, there's nothing out of the ordinary there. In closing the "Colorado Belle" was a good place to stay and a great value. THANKS!

Stayed 3 nights, 2 on a comp (including free Krispy Kreme donuts!), 3rd night was only $23. Room was clean and functional if not luxurious, tasteful earth tones, nice sitting area, in-room safe. Property has 2 pools, not fancy by LV standards but getting wet is always a treat when the temperature gets over 110 as it does frequently in Laughlin.
The casino decor is nice, the Riverboat theme is carried off pretty well. Usual selection of slots; VP inventory is fair, a few 9/6 JoB, NSUD; most others are short pay. However, sister property Edgewater right next door has FPDW, and overall a better selection of VP. Single deck BJ can be found for as low as $5 with 3:2 payoffs, but you can DD only on 10 or 11 (Edgewater and GN have better BJ). Shoe games start at $2 during slow times, and $3 can be found even on weekends. They also have 6:5 single deck BJ for $2 for players who don't know any better. Craps start at $2 also.

The buffet was average to good, and was a real bargain at $3.99 for dinner for mid-summer special (breakfast and lunch are even cheaper). The Boiler room restaurant is VERY good; ribs were $14.95 for a full rack of baby backs, and were excellent. They serve their own micro-brew beer made on the premises (very good I'm told, don't embibe personally)

Nice place to stay & play, centrally located on the Laughlin strip within walking distnace to Edgewater, Flamingo, Pioneer, and Golden Nugget. Very generous with mail offers for free rooms on minimal play.

Stayed at the Colorado Belle July 20-22. Video check-out works like a charm! No hair dryers in room. Bourbon tower rooms are hard to find but rooms are large, clean and have in-room safe. There are two pools, one of the pools has a hot tub. TV is of poor quality--not many channels. DO NOT EAT AT CAPTAIN'S FARE BUFFET--WORST BUFFET I HAVE EVER ATE AT--E.G., THE MASHED POTATOES TASTED AND SMELLED LIKE THEY WERE MADE FROM STALE RIVER WATER.

This is really just your basic hotel room. If you come expecting nothing fancy, you will not be disapointed. They give the rooms away for dirt cheap, or free if you play enough. No hair dryers, plasic cups, just enough towels and no soap bars or lotion. It was alright with me. All the employees were very nice, and we love the Boiler Room. They have very good video poker, and that is our game, so we were happy. They said out great offers in the mail- we will be back.

We took advantage of a three-day complimentary rooms and food plus tickets to the boat races and it was absolutely so much more than we expected! We arrived on May 30 early and they checked our luggage ubtil the room was ready around noon. We could not stay for three days but the entire trip was wonderful in every way and we came home $250 more than we left with! The slots were fairly loose and many people were winning...and by the sounds, a lot! I won about $1000 for the two-day and two-night visit and we ate every meal in the buffet, including the sumptuous Friday night seafood buffet entirely free! We probably spent no more than ten minutes getting checked in by a very courteous man at the registration desk and he could not have been more accomodating or pleasant. There were plenty of various denominations and kinds of slots and video poker machines. Even people who were cleaning public areas were most pleasant when asked information as to what was where and so on. We upgraded from a free room to a riverfront and the large room with balcony cost only $10 per night! The airconditioning worked great and it must have cost them most of the room charge just for electricity! We had onlt stayed here once before but from now on this will be our choice.

Were I younger, the walk through the breezeway to our room in the Orleans tower would have been a breeze but I managed alright because there was plenty of benches and chairs along to way to stop and reast if I needed to. I really have not one complaint.

Thank you, Colorado Belle, for a super fun time...and the profit too!

First, before I say anything about a hotel...this is bothering me in regards to other people's problems with other hotels in the Vegas area. I realize that some of the lower priced hotels do not give you shampoo/conditioner/lotion and some don't have hair dryers, however, if you seriously are upset over this and can't simply afford the time and price to buy your own shampoo and other things, then you should not be going on vacation, anywhere. If you are just too lazy or too cheap to pack 3 bottles of body products and a hair dryer, then please, stay home until you can afford to buy the things or are not too lazy to pack them. OK, I said my peace about that.

The hotel, in December, was great. My husband's family stays here and Edgewater as much as possible and being in AZ, we are only a 4 hour drive, at most, to Laughlin and about 5 hours to Vegas. Our trip was a last minute decision. We both had a few days off and decided that Sunday to go to Laughlin. We had hoped to go to Vegas, but because it was last minute, the prices were higher than normal. But Laughlin is nice and only an hour's drive to Vegas.

Our room was in one of the hotels, not the boat. We are not rich people, but we're not poor either, I just hate paying $20 or so more for a room, when all we do is spend about 9 hours in that room, sleeping and showering. But, our room was very nice, non smoking, no smell. The A/C was working fine and so was the heat. One minute, we needed the A/C on, later in the day/night, we needed the heater on. Our room was always spotless, never saw any dirt or mold. Of course, I didn't get on my hands and knees to find dirt either. Sometimes, I think some readers do just that. My mother used to be a maid at a hotel and I will say this, they do a lot of hard work in a little bit of time. I guess I just learned to appreciate the housekeeping more thanks to my mom.

The buffet, granted, not a ton of selection, but also, the price isn't too high either. We had plenty to eat when we ate there for lunch. We never complained about the food, because it was good and worth the money. When you're only paying about $6 for lunch, don't expect a Bellagio style buffet. We were satisfied with the food and we have eaten there many times over the years.

We did take 1 day of our trip and drove to Vegas, so we could use our Players Club cards. But, we did gamble in Laughlin too. Belle's casino was good. I didn't win a lot, but I don't gamble a lot either. My husband will gamble $2000 in 1 week, while I'm lucky if I gamble $500. We both did win at Belle and she has all the new machines, for nickel slots, like Price is Right, Press Your Luck, Yahtzee. Also gambled at Edgewater next door and that was fun. They have penny slots, which was fun. I learned to play poker on those machines.

Anyways, Colorado Belle is a good value at a good location. It's not a resort, but it's not a Motel 6 either. It is for those who are on a budget or for those who don't care about getting the extras. I just won't pay $100 for a hotel room simply so I can get a balcony or a shampoo. I recommend this hotel to everyone and I have never personally heard of anyone being upset with it.

Remember, the people who work at any hotel are humans. If they aren't the nicest people that day, remember, they are human. Are you the nicest person 24/7? These people, at any hotel or restaurant, have lives and have things that happen in those lives that make them think. To expect people to smile non stop is just sad, because, I'm pretty sure, not a single one of us smiles or says Hello every single time we see someone. So, instead of saying people are rude, just realize, they are human and they having a bad day, that is all.

Becuase I know that many Germans visiting this site I'm gonna give my comment in German:

Visited on New Year's Eve, and did very well on the 100 play penny video poker machines! Hit many royal flushes, and walked away very happy. I did not stay here (stayed across the street at the Ramada Express), but always do well at the Colorado Belle. They could do better with drink service, but, overall, pleased.

First of all, I have to say that it's silly to rate these places on "family friendly". Casinos are not for families with children. Why go to a gambling town when you can't gamble because of the kids.

We've never stayed at the "Belle", but we've had nothing but good times gambling there. The slots are fairly loose. We eat a lot of our meals at the Belle. Mark Twain's and the Boiler Room are very good. The Friday nite seafood buffet use to be really good, but it's gone way down hill. The price has gone up and the selection of seafood has gone way down.

All of the employees are very friendly. For those of you who whine about this property - stay somewhere else if you don't like it. These places are so inexpensive why would you expect them to furnish you with shampoo, conditioner, razor blades, etc. If you can't afford your own you probably shouldn't be gambling. Don't whine about losing money, because that's what happens when you gamble.

We've either stayed at or visited all of the casinos on the strip and have had nothing but the best of service. Some are better than others, but that's going to happen anywhere.

No complaints. We enjoyed our stay, and we got our camera back that we left lying around unattended; which would NOT have happened in Germany, where we live. We like staying in The Belle, and are looking forward to our next visit.

I enjoyed yet another excellent stay at Colorado Belle! The hotel, restaurant(s) and casino staff were all very pleasant. My room was in the Bourbon Street Tower , and it's still one of the best bargains for a room anywhere. The gaming was very productive and the Belle may have the loosest slots & video poker machines in Laughlin.

I encountered several unruly guests who didn't understand that this is a 'budget' hotel. I informed some of them that if they wanted a more upscale hotel and casino, they could choose from several other places for only a few $$ more. Were they expecting shampoo and conditioner? Foi gras? Unfortunately, a budget hotel attracts "trailer trash" as well as those of us who can afford our own shampoo. I'd like to thank them for also not playing the games wisely and subsidizing my stay at the Belles' great low rates. Mostly, I'd like to thank the hard working staff for returning kindness in the way of great service! I highly recommend the Colorado Belle for those who are visiting Laughlin to play and have a good time while winning. I'm returning next week!

Oh, I almost forgot... The food at any of the Belles' restaurants is well prepared at a reasonable price too!

A] HOTEL ROOM: NO COMPL. COFFEE, NO COFFEE MACHINE, NO LOTIONS/COLOGNES/AFTERSHAVES, TOOTH BRUSHES, RAZORS, ETC.ETC.
NO HAIRDRYER, NOT ENOUGH TOWELS...TOWELS TOO SMALL, NO GLASSWARE
NO PLASTIC LAUNDRY BAGS SUPPLIED.

B] THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANTS WAS [BUFFET STYLE]" SOMETHING ELSE" AND COULD HAVE BEEN SERVED IN A MUCH BETTER MANNER/WAY.
THE ROASTBEEF (OR WAS IT "PRIME RIB" ??) WAS SLICED TOO THIN, AND A SECOND (THIN) SLICE WAS ADDED AFTER THE VERY UNFRIENDLY (OLDER PERSON)"GROUCHY" LOOKING/ACTING SERVER ASKED ME IF I REALLY WANT ANOTHER SLICE!!
A F T E R TASTING IT...I KNEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT !!!
IT WAS T A S T E L E S S !!!.... AND T O U G H!!!
[ THEY SHOULD TAKE LESSONS FROM THE "AVI" RESTAURANT..IT WAS 150 TIMES BETTER IN MANY WAYS !!]
C] THE ONLY POSITIVE COMMENT I COULD MAKE OF THE RESTAURANT (THE NAME ESCAPES ME,... IT HAD TO SOMETHING TO DO WITH " CAPTAIN'S FOOD FARE" (??? )IS:
THE CASHIER AND HOSTESSES WERE FRIENDLY AND TRIED TO PLEASE US.
D] THE PURPLE GRAPES WERE SOUR...OR WERE THEY PUT UP FOR "DECORATION" ONLY ??

E] I " LOUDLY "DARE TO SAY THAT THE SLOTMACHINE (GAMES) ARE R A K E D..
ONCE WE TOOK SOME MONEY OUT OF A N Y MACHINE WE PLAYED ( AND I DID N O T GET MY GUEST PASS CARD UNTILL LATE THE SECOND DAY !!)THE MACHINE(S) WAS(WERE) RESET AND THE ODDS WERE 100 TIMES MORE IN FAVOR OF THE " COLORADO BELLE " I DARE SAY AGAIN...AND MANY OF THE TOUR GROUP WHO WERE TRAVELING WITH US COULD VOUCH FOR THAT !!!!

F] WE LOST SOME "600 DOLLARS PLUS" AND HAVE N O T H I N G TO SHOW FOR...NOT EVEN A "GOOD TIME" !!
THE "GAME SERVERS" TOOK MORE THAN 15-20 MINUTES TO SHOW UP...AND THEN WE HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER 10-15 TO GET PAID...( AT 1:00 AM IN THE MORNING...WHEN MOST OF THE CUSTOMERS HAVE GONE TO BED ????)

G]WE HAVE FAMILY AND GUESTS COMING FROM HOLLAND, (EUROPE) THIS SPRING AND SUMMER [2002] AND LET ME ASSURE YOU ..WE WILL N O T TAKE THEM TO THE " COLORADO BELLE IN PARTICULAR, OR TO LAUGHLIN AND/OR AVI...
THAT'S FOR S U R E !!

WE WOULD RATHER TAKE THEM TO THE SMALLER "INDIAN" CASINO'S IN CALIFORNIA...ALTHOUGH SMALLER IN SIZE...THEY'RE ARE A LOT MORE FUN..EVEN IF ONE LOSES A FEW DOLLARS ! [ RE: PALA, PECHANGA, MORONGO,AQUA CALIENTE..TO NAME A FEW !!!]

Nice, well appointed rooms for a ridiculous low price even during high season. We got a boat room without extra charge. Nice staff and a very reasonable buffet. Location OK. Room a bit noisy due to being located right above one of the restaurants (cleaning up sounds at night). Overall a great value.
