Days Inn Cheyenne Hotel

Date Visited: 06/03 - Bad Visit
Stayed here in June and didn't enjoy the visit very much.
The service at check-in was nothing to write home about although they didn't charge us extra for the 3rd person we had been "adding" to our room after making the reservation. When I mentioned the 3rd person (I am too honest for this world), the lady at check-in actually said: "Shhttt...don't tell anyone", so that was nice.
The hotel is worn out and needs refurbishment, rather today than tomorrow. The rooms are ok and, what's most important, they are clean. I haven't really checked out the casino but it's very small; a couple of old slot-machines and that's about it.
Now for the restaurant: since the prices were right, we checked out their breakfast. We shouldn't have! The waitress was plain rude, in every possible way. She almost literally threw the silverware on the table, same thing for the plates, her way of talking was UNFRIENDLY and she lacked any kind of smile. On top of that, she looked pretty "mean". She sort of reminded me of some of the creatures that make it to the stage on the Jerry Springer show. I had always been wondering if these people really existed but now I know: YES, they DO (and one of them lives in Vegas)!
Anyway, the quality of the food was not too bad and it didn't make us go to the bathroom either, so that's a small "plus" for the restaurant.
Security? There's plenty of it in and around the hotel which seems to be a must since the hotel is in an area that isn't very inviting (at night). In the daytime, you'll feel safe there (at least I did) but at night, use your car to go in and out because there are a lot of scary creatures wandering around and they don't seem to discuss the latest results of the local baseballteam.
The hotel's actual location is pretty good because it's right behind Paris and Bally's, so if you want to go drunk on the strip you could walk back to the Days Inn. If those scary creatures wouldn't be there!
Check-out was quick and the service was so so.
My overall impression of the hotel is: worn out, clean (but basic) rooms, awful restaurant service, bad area at night. Since we paid $38/night on Thursday and around $50 during the weekend, the price is not bad. Wouldn't visit the hotel again, though!

This is definitely a "no frills" hotel. We had stayed the first 2 nights at The Orleans, which was a great value for the first 2 nights, but the 3rd night, there were 2 big conventions in town and rates doubled, so we stayed here for the 3rd night. It was a clean room, very small bathroom, small shower - no tub. It is off the strip,in a not so great part of town. It was scary at night - some real characters were in the small casino. The staff was pretty friendly. The rate was $58 and that was with a 20% discount that I had - probably due to the low availablity in the area that night. The cafe was cute, didn't seem to fit the rest of the motel, we had a good breakfast with mediocre service, but priced very reasonably. I wouldn't stay here again if I could help it.

Hmmm. Arrived 2 days prior to new years. Cheapest place I could find and it was still very pricey. Assigned a room 3 doors away from the casino with no locked door in between - major safety issue. Requested a change of rooms which took some convincing. Service upon arrival was so so but a little better upon check out. Second room was adequate although cheaply furnished. Area outside the hotel is questionable with lots of broken beer bottles and used girls!girls!girls! publications. A little scary at night. Motel property was clean enough. Ate one late night breakfast in the restaurant which was very good and ate at Ellis island across the street which was very BAD! The karaoke at 3a.m. at the Island is f*&$@@ing frightening and should be avoided at all costs. I hear the rooms here can be had for as little as $29.95 which would indeed be a good deal and would probably change this rating.
