Edgewater Hotel/Casino

The room was smelly and very rundown - like the rest of the complex. Complained and I was offered an upgrade but I would have to pay!!!! never mind the fact I had paid 2000 dollars already for mysef and my wife. They offered to put in an ozone machine???? I let them, it made no difference. The staff have a customer awareness deficiency. I can see where the staff got this attitude as I had been dealing with a manager. The only person we found helpful was the room cleaner. The cashier staff did not want to honour the cheque cashing deal( 1 scratch card, 1 free drink and a ticket to enter the April cash back). I had these bounced across the counter at me when I had to ask for them on every occasion I cashed a cheque. Also the cashiers don't know the difference between A cheque and more than one cheque. The restuarant staff were no better I asked for butter for my toast and I made to feel like I was stupid with the remark "its already buttered" delveried with speed and sharpness of a rattle snake biting its prey. This hotel would make Basil Fawltey feel at home. Being a visitor from overseas I can only say if this is customer service I'm an elf from lapland!!!! and maybe I am and I don't know, at least this is what the Edgewater staff would like me to believe. I don't see the Edgewater with its rundown hotel!!!! being about to much longer unless it gets a major refurb beginning with a new customer awareness program starting at the top with the floor staff and working down to the managers. At the same time spend a lot of dollars to upgrade the hotel decor.....hmm I wonder has the Hotel manager got the guts to do the job. I would only recommned this hotel to my worst enemy and others in the business who wish to see a working case study on how not to run a hotel. I shudder at the mention of the Edgewater and I will NEVER visit Laughlin again because of this hotel. I believe now there should be a tourist authority to complain to who can penalise hotels like the this.

Visited the Edgewater on New Year's Eve and did so-so. While I did not stay here, I did do some gambling. I was not a big time winner, but not a big time loser either. I enjoy visiting here a couple of times a year. Friendly service, and easy to navigate.

ELVIS RULES!!!!!........mark davis as elvis is the coolest gimik on the river. 25cent craps is fun because the dealers dont know what the hell's going on and get frustrated and throw temper tantrums all the time and it is halarious. but the funniest laugh me and my buddies got was when I pulled a free popcorn coupon out of my booklet and put it under my bet, like i said, "the dealers dont know what the hell their doin",.......and they paid my free popcorn coupon.......(bahahaha). If you ever need a good laugh, hit that 25cent crap game and watch the "LUMPIEST" crew of dealers on the river try to act like they know what their doin'!

We did have a two night comp and the room was what I expected for free. Perfectly square, but clean and plesant view of the pool. Only room complaint, the housekeeping needs to check the dirt buildup behind the wash basin fauscet. Petty gross!!! The walls are thin so pray the people next to you don't want to party into the night. We loved the friendly staff and the dinner buffet was much better than we expected. I didn't particularly like the choice of slots, missed some of my favorites. Hubby loved the sports/race book, best in town. We also enjoyed using our players club cards at Colorado Belle as well as Edgewater. Check in was very slow, though the agent was friendly. The breakfast buffet wasn't as bad as some, but not very memorable, although the breakfast specials in the coffee shop were quite good. All in all as free rooms go, who could complain, whould we return, for the right price, even a bit more than free probably, but have stayed in nicer places. The best part was the friendly staff, the worst the dark halls and thin walls. Judge for yourself.

did not stay saw show rock and roll memories not bad for price, played slots hit better than harrahs won 200 dollars, played roulette dealers were new and kept taking my winning chips off the table had to correct them several times, but no big disputes if you said it was a winner they did not argue, just got to keep eyes on dealers, even pit boss had to come over to correct them. it is good to use same player card at two locations all the casinos should use just one card makes it easier to carry.

Although we didn't stay at the Belle or Edgewater I have to say what good restaurants we ate at. We love Mark Twain's and the Boiler Room at the Belle. The seafood buffet on Friday at the Belle is not so good. I remember when it was $12.95/person and it had a very large selection of seafood. Now it's $14.95 per person and the selection stinks. We won't be eating there again. Since we stay at the Flamingo, we usually eat breakfast at the buffet there. It was under renovation so we ventured over to the Edgewater's buffet. The breakfast buffet was fantastic.

We didn't do very well gambling at the Flamingo this time. We usually do very well, but the slots were very tight. We did some gambling at the Edgewater, a first for us, and we did fantastic.

So, all in all, we had a pretty good experience at the Belle and Edgewater. We've never stayed at either property. Maybe we'll have to try one of them on our next visit.

Absolutely without question the best experience my wife and I have ever experienced in Laughlin, Las Vegas, Reno or Tahoe.

The complimentary suite was big and beautiful and totally unexpected, and that
means alot after a long 4 hour drive at night.

The staff was courtious and friendly, the food was delicious, and the casino was always alive.

From now on if we want to go to Las Vegas, we will stay at the Edgewater in Laughlin and drive to Las Vegas for the evening and when were tired and decide to head back to Laughlin we know the Edgewater is worth the drive.

The first room they gave us was in the old part of the hotel, going down the hallway it is dark, the ceiling tiles are broken and falling down, should have know then this was not the place to stay.. got to our room and it was dirty and smelled.. not really sure what it smelled like but it was bad. Husband turned on the air conditioner... says it will air out.. left for about an hour and returned to room it still smelled.. ( this was a nonsmoking room). I called the registration and told them I would need a cleaner, nicer room, and that I would pay for an upgrade.. as long as it didnt stink in the room.. they told me all they had left was smoking rooms.. told them it couldnt be any worst that what I had now.. was moved to a riverview room which is in a better (newer?) part of the hotel, the hallway was lighted and no falling tiles from the ceiling.. room was nicer, did not smell .. but it was dirty.. bathroom floor had not been sweep or moped. There were 3 matches on the floor and some makeup spilled on the floor and there was mold in the shower. Air- conditioner was filthy-- the vents needed to be cleaned.. the table had some jam or jelly smeared on the side and a little on the top. The ceiling was dirty- had cobwebs and dirt hanging from the ceiling and smoke detector. This is an old dirty hotel-- The buffet was dirty and in bad repair.. food all over the serving areas and floor, nobody cleaning it up. It seems at the edgwater they just don't care. We ate at Flamingo several times and found the buffet and dinner nice and clean. As I told the person when I made my reservations I don't care about the view.. just as long as the room is nice and clean. The casino looks worn and dirty.. should have known the rooms would be the same. Will never stay at the edgwater again. If I stay in laughlin again it will be at the flamingo or Harrahs.

Have visited this hotel several times over the last 5 years and can say that the hotel has declined. Our room was dirty, and the room had a strong unpleasant odor. At 2:00 am in the morning my wife and I were startled awake by the fan in the bath room falling out of the ceiling. The rooms are just old and the hotel does not invest in a strong maintenance program. On a positive note, the buffet was good. I did notice something about the hotel that you might want to consider before booking. The hotel caters to bus tours. Groups of people (100 - 200) were coming from buses and going into the hotel. This property could shine if they improve the rooms, loosen the slots, and give the casino a good cleaning.

I booked our room on the internet and didn't receive the room I thought I had
reserved. I called the phone number on the confirmation to make sure I had a deluxe room with a river view room, coffee maker & fridg. I was told "yes".
Well, that was not true. I had a river view room only. I called the front desk
and was told I didn't reserve that type room. I could get another room overlooking the pool for $10.00 per night more but not a river view room. The
room was not clean. The air conditioner was vey dirty inside. The shower had
mold in the corners. I have stayed at the Edgewater in the past and this used to be a nice hotel. But it is not now. I was very disappointed. Slots were in
very poor condition. I played 3 different quarter machines that didn't credit
the quarters when dropped in. I quess this is good way to get some more of your money! I don't think I will ever go to Laughlin,Nv again not the Edgewater
for sure.

Edgewater sent us two free nights stay plus tickets for the Rodeo. We visited 3-27 to 4-1 and had a great time. We even had an upgraded room to view the Colorado River. We were glad to see Edgewater bring back the fun books. Over all we enjoyed the Casino even though the slots seemed a little tight. We hope to return in July.

We ate dinner and a breakfast here at the buffet. The food is good and the service is good. The casino is very tight and did not do well. I don't think I will ever stay here again. The last few times we stayed here have been disasters. Very unprofesional hotel. Definetly low class operation as far as rooming here. Last couple of stays here we left early and moved over to the Flamingo for better accomidations and way better price.

We have been to Laughlin many times, but this trip we decided to try the Edgewater for the Super Bowl Party. We signed up for the slot club on our last visit, and had this trip comped. We had a great time, and won a little. The rooms are only average, but we found the food very good. The location is the best, and with the Colorado Belle next door, you can now earn points at either place. The Edgewater seems to go out of their way to make your trip a good one. The only complaint is the rooms could use a little makeover.

The wife and I have stayed in Laughlin many times. We have stayed at the Edgewater, Colorado Belle, River Palms and the Ramada Express. After trying the others we always come back to the Edgewater. We often get comp rooms even though we are not heavy gamblers and always at least get a riverview upgrade. One piece of advice, always stay in the Sedona tower. It is the nicest part of the hotel. The staff is always friendly and the overall value is tremendous. I especially like the $2 blackjack pit.
