Avi Hotel and Casino

On a positive note, the food in every restaurant we visited was excellent. Even the buffet food tasted home-made. HOWEVER, they do allow smoking in their restaurants. They refill and reuse the in-room lotion and shampoo bottles. Unfortunately for the Avi, the person hired to refill those bottles apparently cannot read English. Our "lotion" bottles were clearly filled with shampoo. When we complained, we were told it was a "manufacturing error". They advertise a separate "adult pool" and the signage clearly states that no one 17 years of age or below is ever allowed in the adult pool. However, small children run, jump, splash, throw balls and scream in the "adult pool" all day long, unabated. When we complained, we were told, "It is really hard to keep them out of the adult pool". The reason it is difficult is because they make no attempt to enforce their own posted rules. Overall, it was a very, very negative experience and we will never return. We would strongly suggest that others do not visit there, also.

My wife and I only stayed for an afternoon, so I can't comment on the rooms or the hotel service. It IS a nice-looking property. We did have a good lunch there, and I won $1000 on a VP machine, so my memories of AVI are good ones!

Feb 2005 was the first time at the AVI and have stayed at other casinos ( Riverside, Ramada, Flamingo and Edgewater). We had a great time. It is now June 10, 2005 and have been to the AVI again and here is the update. First room we went to was in poor contition and needed to be cleaned. They moved us to another room and it was nice, everything worked and it was clean. Had Dinner and Breakfast at the buffet. Food was good, service was good too. Mom and me both came away winners. WE won at BINGO and some on the slots.
If you want to go to town they have a free shuttle to the mall. Would we go to the AVI again, yes. But they are expanding and things will be in flex for some time.

Played BlackJack for 20 years,...AVI CHEATS...I personally witnessed single deck BJ dealer "stuffing" THREE cards in a smooth motion and one example of bottom deck dealing....Gaming commission has been notified....BEWARE OF AVI..

Avi Hotel and Casino

Headed down to the Avi for Superbowl weekend. Stayed in the new beach tower with a view of the river and mountains. It was excellent. High speed internet was available and worked without a hitch. On Sunday we had the champagne brunch. It was fantastic. The food is always great at the Avi.
The big game was broadcast on large screens in two of the movie theatres. $20 admission included a t-shirt, hot dog, beer and mug. It was a good value. I had some luck at the tables and left with some extra cash and a good feeling. I will be back to the Avi soon.

The Avi web site is not only good gaming practice, but the points earned for free can be converted into room nights and food. Wife and I used 2 nights and were surprised to be comped a suite. We also enjoyed 2 comped dinner buffets and thought the quality of the food and service was quite good at both the buffet and Feathers. Also found the rates for the golf course were reasonable.

IT HAS BEEN A FEW YEARS SENSE I HAVE BEEN TO THE AVI,I STAYED ABOUT 3 WEEKS,I WON THE BLACK JACK TOURNAMENT THERE ONE NIGHT,AND I HAD A WONDERFULL TIME AT THE AVI!! I WANTED TO SAY HI TO THE GM (LES) THIS IS SUE'S SISTER BRENDA FROM LOUISIANA.I WANTED TO SAY HI IT'S BEEN A FEW YEARS HOPE EVERYTHING IS GOING GOOD FOR YOU. Avi Hotel and Casino

What a great place!!! I've been going to the Avi since it opened, some 8 years now, it's home, the people are great, every employee I've ever dealt with has been extremely friendly. I have such a good time there, they always make me feel welcome. I want to thank Ronny in the casino pit,he's always ready to help and does. I'm sure they know what a value people like Ronny and Jason are at the Avi, you can't help but have fun. I could name dozens of people who make my stay there something special every time! I could go anywhere, but I won't! Thanks so much!!!
