The room was not just terrible it was awful. First the air conditioner did not work and when I called they sent another unit up on a cart and asked if i would help the serviceman lift the old one out and lift the repaired one off of the cart and into the wall. Secondly the bed was hard as a rock, I would have been better off on a bus bench. There ought to be a law against anything that hard. Thirdly we all understand water conservation, but when you cannot hardly wash the shampoo out of your hair due to water pressure, there is a real problem. The casino was just fine and the people were friendly but the room was horrible. I am not a whiner but just explaining the real facts......No I am not happy. On the upside I did win four times the price of the room at the crap table so I guess everything is relative.

Casino visit only. I lost but the staff made me laugh doing it. A little older and slightly run down. I guess MGM is keeping all the money on the strip. I will stop in again if I'm in the south-south neighborhood.

This place has long been a favotite stomping ground for us. Thigs have changed! Since it has been bought out by MGM, the change people are gone, the change booths are seldom open, and many many slot machines have been taken out. We go there just for the slots, and the quarters and dollars are sadly reduced. Lots of nickle and penny ones but we don't play those. They took out the Fives progressive bank and the Double Diamond progressive too. We practically live on that bank while we are there. Or used to... :( I felt like an adict that was being denied his drink!



The food has always been excelent until the last two stays this year. The Prime rib and New York Steak have been dry or tasteless. The garnishes are gone or very minimal. They managed to mess up EGGS... twice! That is a big dissappointment because I used to say that if you couldn't win good at least you could enjoy a good meal! Not now..(Boo hoo!)

It doesn't feel like it used to... like coming home!



On the good side, the people are absolutely the best! They will do anything they can to accommodate your needs and are very friendly. I miss a lot of them that have been let go!

If you can, get the South tower. It is newer and the rooms are quite different than the North tower. They are spacious and in better repair. That is the discrepancy you read about the quality of the rooms. I can tell which tower they stayed in by the descriptions! :)

Yes they have those yucky liquid soap things, but we bring our own anyway... no big deal.

I think we will wait awhile befor going back... hard as it might be. I would like to see the casino settle back into what it used to be. I do understand that there is an adjustment period, but I hope they hurry a little faster because the customers will be staying away and that is soooo not good!



Take the road in back of the hotell to go to the strip. It is the little two lane road that used to be the 15. It turns into Las Vegas Blvd. and there are some real good gas prices to be had on the way.

We had a blast! The rooms were clean and very spacious! The pool was very nice, as well as the jacuzzi. The slots were friendly to us. The food at the cafe and snack bar (the shrimp cocktail was the biggest and best and only .99 cents.) We ate dinner at the buffet and we were plesantly suprised. The only downfall is that once you are there, you have to stay there, unless you want to pay $80 for a taxi to take you into Vegas. But overall we had a lovely stay and the waiters and waitress' were so nice. Awsome time!

This is your standard basic hotel room with nothing fancy about it. The room will be clean and the essentials will be there but this cost cutting features like soap in a liquid wall dispenser instead of bars of soap.

The casino is pretty basic as well.

I stayed here because it was near a business call I had to make the next day. Rooms are big and reasonably clean, furniture won't win any awards. The lack of soap and shampoo--liquid dispenser only--is kind of tacky, but what does one expect for a $19.95 room. Breakfast at the cafe was super. Table games were pretty marginal. Dealers seemed to all be on their first night ever in a casino, making for slow play.

We have visited the Gold Strike, but, this is the first time that we have stayed there. The rooms were functional and most of all clean. My only complaint was the low water pressure for the showers. We like the casino and the employees are very friendly. The coffee shop is very good. I've had better buffets, but, since the dinner buffet costs $7.99 one can't really expect Bellagio/Alladin/Mirage quality. We would eat there again. Yes, it is 25 miles from Vegas, but, since we always rent a car that's no problem. That in itself is one of the things we like. It's peaceful and less hectic. We will definitely stay there again.

I have visited Las Vegas several times and when I stayed at the Gold Strike with my boyfriend, this was the best time in Vegas I had ever had. It was quiet, out of the way and when we wanted to go to the stripe, we drove downtown. He is a truck driver and the value of staying there and a safe place to park the semi was a big plus!!!! The service was gerat, pool was very enjoyable.



While the rooms are not not top of the line and could use some updating, our stay was very enjoyable and we really look forward to visiting again.
