I just stopped in for the first time yesterday for a few hours. I was very impressed by the friendly and personable guys and gals who work here. It reminded me so much of the 80's and 90's Vegas.

I sat and played for 2-3 hours on my original $20, enjoyed ice cold Michelob, delivered by a Hooters girl, and cashed out at $59(playing mostly penny megabucks).

I am already making plans to stay here next month. If you remember the old Vegas, this is the closest I've found to it.

Stay away from this casino unless you enjoy being lied too and ripped off! I was never so disappointed with a casino in my life! They falsely advertised $100 free slot play. I caught a cab to get there, since it is off the strip. I expected to get the free play as the large sign outside stated, but did not. The promotions desk closed at midnight...nothing in Vegas closes at midnight except for Hooters! The sign stated to see a casino host for help. I did and was denied. When I confronted the rude supervisor I was told come back on the morning. The free play area is a sectioned off area of about 8-10 $2 machines, so it is obviously regulated to not pay off! There was probably a handful of people in the entire casino, which should have tipped me off that this place was no good and not worth my time and effort! Avoid this awful nightmare of a casino!

Date Visited: 06/07 - Good Visit

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I had read all the bad reviews and was a little reluctant to stay there, but the deal we found was too good to pass up. Check in was quick with no problems. I was kind of nervous that the wife would not like the room as I had read all the bad reviews concerning room quality. We were on the 16th floor overlooking the Tropicana hotel.

The room was great for what we paid for it. No stains or anything that would turn one off. The plumbing worked fine. The large number of pillows on the bed were a huge hit with the wife. The amenities were simple, designed to replicate a Hooters restaurant. We rent a car when in Vegas, so the location was not an issue.

The casino was small, but they had all the games I play. They even had full pay video poker machines. You can have blackjack dealt by a Hooters girl, but it is the 6-5 variety. Regular pay blackjack is available with an ugly dude dealing. I actually enjoyed being able to navigate the smaller casino.

Another bonus of staying at a smaller hotel is that our car was retrieved from valet very quickly. Overall we were impressed at the value and would stay there again.

Bad experience at check in. Unfriendly clerk. Rooms with cigarette burns in the carpet in the rooms, very economy looking rooms.... has the look of an old Howard Johnsons which is used to be. Just not a value. Complained to managment via emails of upper managment listed on their website. Never received a single reply from any of them and was told by Hooters Hotline it is really not a Hooters operation. I understand it is going broke. Imagine that??

Visited the casino in June 2006. I was very unimpressed. All-in-all, the remodel seemed very cheesy and half-assed. For example, they did not bother to update the creaky old elevators in the parking garage or add new signage. They just painted over the old signage - and badly; you could still see the old stuff bleeding through. Little things like that affect your overall impression. The drink service was good - frequent and prompt - though. However, if you want to see scantily clad women serve you drinks, you can see them in any casino in the city. There is nothing special about this place. It's not worth a special trip.

Stayed there Sunday through Wednesday in late June. The casino floor was laid out nicely - not overstuffed with slot machines and surrounded by great bars and restaurants for a very "laid back" feel. The filet at Marino's was awesome and I had the best eggs benedict ever at the Dam restaurant. Pool area was nice but a little small. Check-in was fast. My wife and I stayed in the Bay View portion of the hotel. The world's smallest and hottest elevator took us to our second floor room. We would have taken the stairs, but couldn't find them during our entire stay. They need to replace the carpet in the halls - old and warn. The room seemed bigger than most and the bed and bedding were very comfortable. The bathroom had a small tub and the "bay view" was a view of the ventilation system and whatever trash people decided to throw from there window, but I didn't go to Vegas to stare out my window anyway. The service from the maids to the pit boss was excellent. I didn't play slots, but the blackjack was fun and there was a $5 table 2 of our 3 nights. Overall I thought it was a great deal for the money and we will stay there again.

Stay away from the Hooter girl area were the odds are just terrible. I would visit this place again. I don't know if I would eat or stay here.

I have to admit that from the Grand opening on Feb 06 until now, this Casino has gotten MUCH Better. I first was there when it opened and was greatly impressed, though it was a bit crowded. It seems they are getting there permanent staff together because the GIRLS are MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL NOW!!... Perhaps they needed to hire as many girls possible not knowing what to expect. If you go to the Hooter Girl pit, they've got young Hot/Sexy girls there with very voluptuous..well you know what. ;) Most of the girls in the pit are in the calendars and some were even tha actual centerfold models for a couple years. I recently went there and saw one of my college grad, buddies working there. I'm impressed that a lot of the Hooter girl Dealers are educated and not just another pretty face. I give this a THUMBS UP!! Everyone should atleast try it out first. When place first open Ofcourse it'll be hective and have it's problems, but now they seem to have things going smoothly. Check it out.. I know I always do.

This place is like a very bad joke on anyone who happens to wander in there. Worst blackjack I have ever seen combined with some of the worst VP. Drunk young guys who know no better but will blow their bankroll gladly thinking they are going to impress someone.

The only thing that will keep this place profitable is that every day there are planeloads of drunk young guys arriving in Vegas.

The San Remo was a dump but they did not rip you off.

How could you make the San Remo worse? We didn't stay here so I can't comment on the rooms but what's the draw? The girls I saw were not worth the walk from the strip so maybe it's the food. The casino felt like 'Vegas Night' at the local bingo hall with flourescent orange accents. It all felt fake and temporary. I think the temporary part is quite apt. We were thirsty after the walk and waited way too long at the bar in the front for way overpriced (8 bucks each), nasty, margaritas. 2 years before they close? Maybe less.

Yep..definitely an improvement over San Remo, though I will confess that I did like the bar at the San Remo...hardly a strong point for promoting that place...it is a bit bright there, but it certainly is setup in a much more appealing way than San Remo was...regardless of anybody's review, this place will flourish due to the endless stream of Hooters restaurant fans wanting to see this venue...can't beat the location, though the parking leaves much to be desired...I get a laugh out of people rating a place based on them either losing or winning money once there... seems to me that winning or losing is somewhat random, especially if you play the slot machines.. and no casino makes a decision who will win or lose...so if you win... good place.... if you lose.. it sucks??? good logic...anyway... Hooters is worth checking out

100% improvement from the awful San Remo establishment. Lots of beautiful women and property definitely conveys a Vegas party atmosphere. While the location across from the MGM is optimum I believe they made a mistake in renovating and moving in to a small casino. The place is congested. It felt like you had to walk sideways most of the time so you would not bump into someone playing a machine. You do not get a feeling of openness or relaxation. Its like they crammed as much stuff as they could in the small space that they had.

The pool area, though small, looks fantastic and will definitely be a plus when the weather warms up.

Getting a drink was almost impossible. Went to one bar to play video poker and the bartender disappeared. Saw very few cocktail waitresses in this small establishment.

The dueling guitar player guy was not very good. I give him an A for effort but the performance was kind of nerdy and not something you would expect at Hooters.

The wait to eat at the Hooters restaurant was 90 minutes (9:00 pm). I found this amazing since they basically serve bar snack type food.

Another negative for me was the ventilation in the casino. Just plain awful. Mild cigarette smoke does not bother me but this place will asphyixiate you. Once again the small, congested floor space probably is a factor.

Parking and access to this place is another issue.

I am not ready to throw in the towel on this place but I believe they made a major mistake in not building a brand new Hooters Hotel/Casino from scratch on a larger property. The other two "party" casinos in town (Hard Rock & Palms) have a much better feel. I will probably be back in a year or so to see if any improvements have been made.

Despite the fact that the Hottel was being remoled due to the switch to Hooters, it was good stay. The rooms have recived a nice upgrade, since i was there last year. The check in service was the worst part of the trip. We ordered a refrigerator to keep the wifes insulin cold, and that wasnt in the room , we had to call and wait about an hour and a half. The clerk gave us our room keys, we went to open the door to the room and it did open, so had to go back to get the keys fixed. The casino was condensed due to the construction, if you played during the day it was annoying with all the hammering and drilling, but hey they were free rooms. From what has been completed so far HootersCasino is going to be great, i cant wait to see the finished product.

Not a bad place. I stayed there not long after the reopened. There were a few cracks in the tiles in the bathroom that probably should have been fixed but I didn't mind. Rooms overall were fine (I didn't pay a whole hell of a lot). Done up in a Hooters style blazed orange and cedar. Not a big fan of the casino. Played BJ for a little while but the tables were of the 6-5 restricted doubling type. BLECH. Joined Club Orange and left the joint wondering what I had to do to earn a point on the card (went through a fair amount of money without earning a point). I should say that I did little more than sleep there. Yes I did game there for a little while but I spent 99% of my time at other places. To me, this is a decent place to stay at the right price but plan on eating, gambling etc, elsewhere.

If you're wondering, a lot of the women working there are not of the (ahem) Hooters type.

This was our third visit to Las Vegas but our first at the San Remo Hotel we stayed for nine nights.Having read the previous comments we were totally put off and cosidered changing hotels before we travelled,we are so glad we didn't.Yes the decor needs updating but the hotel was spotlessly clean,we requested the silver tower at check in and were given a room in it at no extra charge. The room is the best we have had yet with views overlooking the strip,we have stayed in more expensive hotels on the strip and ended up overlooking car parks and rubbish bins. The maids were in every day, sheets and towels were changed daily. The buffet was ok not great but we have had a lot worse. The location was fantastic yes the road is busy but a short walk to the bridge takes you over the road and straight into the MGM where the Metro station is.The casino is small but good I won $500 on the slots within one hour of arriving. The pool area is small but nice plenty of sun loungers the only down side is the coffe shop is only open untill 1:00 pm would be better if it opend 24 hours. The staff are all fantastic very helpful and very friendly we made some good friends among them who we continue to email.Overall it is a small friendly hotel with a nice atmosphere with a good mix of age groups we will be staying again on our next trip to vegas.

This place was a very cheap but you get what you pay for right? Our room looked fine but the beds were uncomfortable and the toilet paper holder was broken. I'd have to say that this hotel is EXTREMELY ghetto. One of the elevators wouldn't go to our floor because the number was broken so we either had to wait for the other elevator, or go one floor below and take the stairs up one floor. One great thing about this place is their $5.99 prime rib special. SOOO tasty! I'd definitely go back to the San Remo for the prime rib but NOT to stay there for the hotel. See for yourself, food was good, overall place was GHETTO!

yeah it's a dump, but it's clean enough and kind of fun. It's so damn close to the airport that it's a good

first stop if you JUST GOTTA START GAMBLING RIGHT AWAY! I like dumpy hotels, especially if they are

near other dumpy hotels where I can be my dumpy self and have a cheap dumpy time, but the San

Remo is right on the Dysneyland corner where the neighbours are NYNY, MGM etc. It's like a Downtown

hotel snuck into the South Strip neighbourhood. It's really quite a short walk to the strip, you don't

need a "fat person" trolley thing here.

The hotel corridors, carpet, decor etc are really crummy, but the rooms are actually pretty nice.

The casino has some really great 7am addicted gamblers to hang out with, and really cheap tables.

We have stayed here the last several times we've visited Vegas. The reason? It's a quiet "intimate" oasis away from the hustle & bustle of the big strip casinos, but right next to them when you're ready for that. More $2 & $3 blackjack tables than other casinos, as well as low minimum's on other game tables. Smaller means you get to know the dealers, pit bosses & wait staff, which also helps in quick free drink service. Rooms - despite what you sometimes hear elsewhere on this site - were always clean, if a bit worn. But then, who visits Vegas to spend it in your hotel room? Papparazzi is a great Italian steakhouse - a quiet respite from the everpresent Vegas noise - with excellent food, wine list, service & ambiance. Their coffeehouse restaurant has a great prime rib dinner and "steak & eggs" breakfast, low priced even by Vegas standards. My only fear is, this may all be going away with their reputed conversion to a "Hooters" casino/hotel.

Ive got to chime in one more time regarding the San Remo. Service is the best by far of ANY casino I have visited. Try getting a drink at any of the mega casinos ! Excited about the merger coming with Hooters. Hopefully will get invited for the grand reopening. Will be visiting again in March for the Nascar races and can hardly wait. I would recimmend to all who have had a bad experience to give them a try when the Hooters opening takes place. For those who have never visited-give it a try. The only regrets Ill have with the merger is the fact the lounge entertainment wont be there anymore. See ya in March, Faye and Ron and the rest of the great staff there !

Hooters Casino Hotel

Do not be alarmed - the previous negative comments regarding the Fabulous San Remo are a joke! This hotel is the best value in Las Vegas to date. The location, room rate, restaurant prices, and casino service are incomparable! The idiots who have given the San Remo a negative rating are cheap junket-travellers who deserve a room at the Westward Ho (but are too cheap to stay there!).

I have been a guest at the San Remo for nine visits to Las Vegas and they continue to surpass all customer service expectations in this price range. They have always met my request for a room in the Silver Tower with a view of the strip and have accomodated a late check-in and check-out. For the price ($30 - 45) with a casino card, the room is a great buy. It is clean and comfortable. For that price (you loser dopes), you can't get a room at the Tam O'Shanter or Glass Pool Motels and be on the strip! Why not book a room at The Casino Royale Motor Hotel if you want cheap!

One of the best "perks" at the San Remo is the casino beverage service. Once you're seated at a machine or table your glass is always full. Someone earlier mentioned the Tropicana - good luck getting a comp drink there! The San Remo is great at keeping it's gamblers' drinks filled (and I have a feeling that the negative comments were left by non-gambling guests who were in town to see the "awe" of the Belagio fountains but were too cheap to stay there!).

DO NOT BE SWAYED - The San Remo is THE BEST BET! Great Rooms, Geat Prices, Great Location, Great Pool, Great Food, Great Casino ($$$$$$), and Great Service! If you want Disney, this is not the place - but if you want a great Las Vegas stay, book at the San Remo! (Oh-and check out the Showgirls of Magic - fun show! - and awesome prime rib in the restaurant for only $4.95 - even the cab drivers will agree!!!)

Me and my brother stayed at the San Dumpo in February of this year. We booked the flight and hotel together which, I must admit, was a very nice deal. Thats all I can say nice about this place. I can deal with the fact that the casino was small, because really, who needs it with the MGM grand and New York New York across the street. But the cleanliness issue is a complete joke. It became an ongoing laugher when every night for five days the same beer bottle and used Q-tip lay on the floor in the same spot on the way to our room. Are you kidding me?! That trash laid there from the day we checked in till the time we checked out and never moved. Hell, I was gonna throw it away out of kindness, but it became too funny and we wanted to see just how long they could lay there as countless lazy maids and workers walked by them. The room was okay in size but didnt seem as though it had been cleaned before we checked in. Also the gift shop stunk and the food joints were always closed. I hope for any of you going to the san dumpo, that they are just extra lazy in the winter months and clean up their act before summer. But knowing how they are about cleaning up anything, I doubt it!!

I stayed at the San Remo on a package deal for the superbowl and a few nights after. I've taken dumps in nicer porta-pottys than this dump. Whoever writes a nice article about this place must be on the take from the casino. The other guy who wrote an article about the staying here around the time of the superbowl hit it right on the head. Garbage on the hallway floors for days, dirty casino, tight slots....What a drag! Pay the extra money and stay somewhere clean for god sakes....u best believe that!!!..

Great place to stay for the money. It's the best place to go for the drink service during gambling. The waitress's are very quick and friendly. The food was great and inexpensive. The rooms weren't the greatest and needed some upgrading, but they were clean. We had a great view! I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget. We probably will stay again. Chatham, Ontario.
