Although we have been to Vegas many times, this was the first time we have stayed at the Mirage. We

received a very good offer though M Life players club and wanted to try out the hotel. We arrived at

around 5:00PM and found that our "non-smoking" king size bed reserved room was not available

because the hotel was sold out and only smoking rooms were available or a handicapped room. We took

the handicapped room which was OK but everything in the room was set up for a handicapped person

with everything in the main room and bathroom much lower to the ground but nothing more than

inconvenient. It's nice to see that these rooms are available for the handicapped, I just hope we were not

taking up a room that was needed for a handicapped person that was checked in. I did mention that we

would move if such a situation did come up but we were never contacted and asked to move. The room

was a little dated but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The casino was not any better or worse

than the others on the strip but the drink service was exceptional and the girls were very friendly and

appreciative of a $1.00 a drink tip. We found the food to be very good but a little pricey. The staff was

very friendly and they certainly helped to make our visit a positive experience.

I booked a regular suite here for $120...they proceeded to upgrade me for free to the penthouse suite. Unbelievable. Its as big as my house. marble floors, breathtaking views, 2 bedrooms - 2 bathrooms - 2 jetted tubs -wet bar - super comfy beds - tv that pops up at the foot of the bed. Wow!

The staff was incredibly friendly and personable - front desk, dealers, housekeeping, restaurants. I didn't feel any element of pretensiousness here like you find at some of the other upscale Vegas hotels.

Casino has some solid table games including European Roulette (very hard to find). Slots were tight but there was some decent Video Poker to be found at full pay levels.

Restaurants were all high quality but on the pricey side. I quickly learned to use my rental car and go elsewhere. Carnegie Deli charges over $10 for a sandwhich Ala Carte. The buffet is very good and not overpriced.

Very nice hotel with decent sized rooms, but very small bathrooms. Long lines at check-in. The casino is nice, but dark. The beverage service was very good, and the dealers and staff are friendly. Spent hours having fun without being surrounded by overly-noisy floor shows. Nice pool area. Cravings Buffet was mediocre (both dinner and breakfast).

Was there and only stayed because of a combo deal to stay and see Love which was great! Room and hotel was clean. Showing it's age if you look for that. Slots were so so. Food was good and everyone was helpful and nice. I wouldn't just stay again. I like other places better like Paris.

Just got back from a 3 night Sun - Wed stay at The Mirage. Arrived at around 10:00 and was able to check in after a very short wait at the desk. Employees were very friendly and helpfull. Room was very nice and the only thing bad you could say about it would be the small bathrooms. Not a big deal for me though. Hotel location is awesome, casino slots were ok, we broke about even and were able to play for a while on our money. Secret Garden / Dolphin Habitat was kind of cool, but also small for the $15 admission. Sports book was nice, and of course the pool is great! All in all a great spot to stay in Vegas. We will be back soon.

Just returned from a four night stay at the Mirage. All was well with the hotel itself. Clean rooms, easy check in, easy check out. Comps were good! We are not high rollers by any means...but between myself and my husband we played probably $2500 or more at the MGM properties and ended up getting all food and drinks comped off our bill. That was great and we were happy about that!

Had lunch at the Carnegie Deli the day we arrived. While the food was good, the sandwhiches are HUGE. No way a person can eat an entire one alone. You can't even pick it up, you have to cut it up. They are $20 or more each and they charge you $3 more if you wish to order just one and share it. That's crazy. You can't take part of it with you, as you cannot use the fridge in your room for your personal things, nor can you move anything without being charged. Wouldn't recommend eating in the Carengie, buy it and eat it elsewhere! Ha!

Kokomo's Steak House has wonderful food, but is very, very pricey as everything is ala carte. The prime rib is as big as your head! Totally worth the money, but this too, you'll never finish. Order the filet, it is more manageable. The buffet was not impressive. Food was often slightly warm, choices small, and sometimes near empty and not soon to be replaced. We did eat there for breakfast each morning though as it was fast, okay, and there.

Saw Terry Fator while there. He was fantastic! Would highly recommend seeing this very talented person.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms very small. The housekeeping service evidently begins at 8 am. Did not appreciate door knocks at 8 am. Should have put the sign up, but didn't realized the maids would be knocking at 8 am. They'd knock at 8 am too, but oddly, the rooms weren't ever cleaned before 1. Housekeeping "forgot" to add new towels and washclothes into our room so had to call for those at 3 am. They were brought up promptly.

Drink service is the best here. Visited almost all strip properties as we usually do while in Vegas, and Mirage and MGM had the best drink service. Always somebody there bringing or asking.

Slots are VERY tight. That was disappointing. I don't care if I win buckets of money, but it is nice to win enough to keep playing. That didn't seem to really happen anywhere. The entire four day stay I only saw one hand pay of $1200. I did win money here and there, as did my husband, but not the way we used to in Vegas. No you cannot win everytime or even expect to win, but it was obvious that things are tight throughout. Table games like Craps and Roulette are crowded. Table limits are okay, but I myself enjoy playing Roulette with $5-$15 table limits. Didn't see many of those and those I did see were crowded. Went over to MGM Grand and Imperial Palace to play tables. Lots of lower limits.

Too many kids in this hotel. I will NEVER understand why people bring their children to Vegas. If you're there for a wedding or some other event, stay in a HOTEL, not a resort. Drinking, smoking, gambling, prostitutes....really...I know I didn't appreciate tripping over kids here and there. Take your children to Disney and stay at a resort...not in Vegas. So crazy. There seemed to be a lot of kids at the Mirage compared to other properties we visited this trip.

All and all, great stay at the Mirage!

The worst stay I have had in my 10 years of visiting Las Vegas. First, the young gal at the front desk--who was new--gives me the very last room on the 20th floor, with a GREAT view of interstate 15. I noticed in the bathroom that there was a used tissue under the vanity. Apparently the maids don't bend down. I complained to the supervsior, and nothing was done. I tipped the maid beforehand to make sure the room was spotless----but the tissue was still there! Naturally, if English is your second language how could they understand me? Finally, after the 3rd time of complaining the housekeeper removed it and cleaned the room. The room was remodeled, but the brown carpet looked filthy--it needed to be cleaned. The minibar refrigeration was down--but you can be sure that the mechanism that charges the booze to the room was still working! A young man replaced the whole unit and was very helpful. The room service was horrible! I ordered a very simple breakfast which I was told would take an hour. I waited patiently and still nothing arrived. I called back and they said they knocked and no one answered. Sure--I've heard that line before. Finally after an hour and 45 minutes I cancelled the order. The room service rep on the phone was calling me by a different name--could this have been caused by the rookie front-desk gal who checked me in? The same thing happened in the spa. The gal at the front desk called me by the same guy's name. More than once I wondered aloud "What going on in this place?" Continuing on the poor customer service, the cage cashier took his sweet time in getting to me, which would have been fine if he had said, "Just a minute sir" but he did not. He also tossed the money at me. If I'm going to pay good money to play, at least treat me with some respect. The casino has been horrible that last several times I visited--and that's no coincidence. I can't buy a win in their casino anymore. The video poker machines ar so tight it's absurd. I am done with the Mirage. I will patronize another place from now on. In my opinion, this place has gone downhill steadily since Steve Wynn left.

Stayed 12/24/07-12/28/07...midweek stay. First time visit to Las Vegas. From the Northeast. A huge dissapointment as far as the Mirage was concerned. Other parts of Vegas we loved.

Rooms...Ever get that nursing home feeling as you walk down a hallway to your room? You will experience that here. Yet the hallway on our floor was the only place we could actually walk without crowds of people pushing and shoving us.Smallest bathroom i have ever seen in a Casino hotel. (Foxwoods has spoiled us)

Food: We loved the Caribe, thats it though. The Buffet was a horror show for waiting and way overpriced. 32.00 per person for lunch and the dessert area offered muffins and donuts (not even cheesecake). Go to the Luxor for thier Buffet. Half the price, half the wait, and twice the experience.

Casino: Pretty, clean ..a bit dark. Some dealers were wonderful some not so wonderful which is to be expected in any casino. We are Let it Ride players and Texas Holdem tourny players. The slots just took all our money in minutes.

On Cristmas eve day and Christmas day there was not one Let it Ride table under a 15 dollar minimum. Two tables open, not one person at the tables. Went across the street to The Imperial where we found 5 and ten dollar tables and lots of people laughing and playing and having a great time. When we arrived back at the Mirage after a great time playing cards at the Imperial, hours had passed and still no one at the Mirage tables. I told the pit boss about our experience across the street and his comment was .."then go across the street then".

Shows: No tickets available for any Circus du Soliel shows. You need to book before you come to Vegas. We did not know this so no shows for us. I actually started crying and wanted to go home after our second day there.

Pool: To cold out for the pool. Caught a glimpse of it.

Dolphins/Tigers: No guide. Paid 15 dollars per person to walk in and look around. Then felt bad for the animals who looked bored to death.

Volcano: Saw a bit of it once for there were hundreds of people and trees blocking our view. Should have stood in the street to get a better look at it i guess.

We spent the next 3 days spending all our time out of the hotel and had a great time in Old Vegas section eating at the cafe in the Golden Gate Casino. (6.95 Prime rib dinner) Watching the light show at night was awesome. Also loved the Luxor for cards, food and people.

When we checked out we spoke with an assistant hotel manager named Amanda about our stay. She was very nice and apologetic and offered us a free breakfast at the Caribe for our troubles.

Myself and a co-worker stayed at the Mirage for three nights in November for a conference. The conference was at a off strip casino. I got my rooms comped in advance. The buffet was great. The room was fine. The staff was very nice. Dealers were nice. Check in was a breeze. The California Pizza Kitchen was good and the buffet was very good. They had an event going on and the sports book was crowded and we couldn't get a good seat for the Patriots/Ravens game. This was my second stay at the Mirage and I was pleased and would stay there again. (Avoid the New York Deli it is high priced awful.) Don't drink in the bars unless you have a ton of cash. Its cheaper to drink while gambling it all away.

But, the hotel workers are very friendly and do offer great service. Heard talk of room renovation going to happen at the end of the summer. Still a nice hotel and great table games.

Our stay was from 5/2/05 - 5/6/05 and 11/28/05-12/2/05. and 11/29/06-12/2/06 There were two of us,a friend from work and myself. We go to gamble,

Our stay was from 04/03/07 to 04/06/07 Three of us. My wife and 24 year old daughter

What's different from the trips in 05 to 06 to 07 ?

Check in-- was fast for that time of day 11:00 AM, the same as other hotels. looking at the fish, was a plus +.

The view,, we don't care? December 05 we received a view of the volcano. We actuly saw it go off one time but it not worth paying extra for in my opinion. In 06 volcano view, didnt see it go off. April 07 a roof top looking north west

Room -- All 4 trips it was just the standard deluxe Vegas room you will find in any hotel, it was in good condition. A Vegas first and Second for me,On the nov 05 and April 07 trips the rooms came with mold (mildew) growing on the shower wall and ceiling.

The elevators and hallways were clean. Hotel in general was clean.

Food -- time to grab a quick inexpensive snack to eat before the gaming starts. A salad would be nice in the coffee shop. Seeing the $12.00 price I dropped down to the hamburger, wait a minute, in May 05 that’s $9.00. In december 05 the burger cost $ 9.50. In Dec 06 the same burger and fries cost $10.00)

As long as I am on the food subject I’ll mention the new buffet. Breakfast had a good choice of items including make to order omelets like many of the hotels have. Cost for the 2 of us about $26.00. The dinner buffet had a good choice of items and was up in the $55.00 range for the 2 of us. These are the only two places I ate in this hotel. I felt they were over priced. I have not been to Vegas on a weekend day in 20 years I got sticker shock. We went for breakfast buffet for the first time on a SATURDAY The cost $44.00 for two people. That's right a $9-$10 jump in price Friday to Saturday. 2 We walked out went to the coffee shop and had four big pancakes for only $10.00 which incluced syrup and butter, nothing else.

On the 07 trip with the wife and daughter they ate pool side and enjoyed the food, $9.00 chicken fingers. The only other meal we ate in the hotel was one dinner buffet. * now for the wifes comment on the dinner buffet* "Good but the Aladdin is better".

On price alone. I’ll give the food a minus -

Air quality in casino -- was good, not to smoky, it was the first hotel with large air exchanger, a plus +.

Slots -- there was a good selection of slots, penny on up. The machines were clean and I found no sticky or broken buttons, this was a plus +.

Video Poker, there was a nice variety of games, but the pay tables were lacking, 8/5 on the 25 cent and $1.00, jacks or better machines, I did look all over for a 9/6 $1.00 machine but found none. I found many pay scales with lower pay outs. I give VP a minus -

Black jack -- I did find a $5.00 table in the early morning, To be a rated player it's $25.00 a hand. pretty good rules on BJ. I give BJ a plus +

Spa, in 05 I didn’t try it, no comment. in 06 i walked into it, looked asked how much a day pass cost $20.00 thank you and I left.

Gift shop provided what I wanted. I didn’t pay attention to the other shops.

Pool is very nice and would be the main reason for returning to this hotel with my wife.( I took her April 07 ) Unfortunately people were lined up for chairs by 8:00 AM. Give the pool a plus +.

Wifes take on the pool "" Very nice but a big shortage of chairs. Don't plan on finding a lounge at 10:30 " cheap raft to float on, $15.00 for the day.

( not a raft like you see in the movie Vegas Vacation )

Cocktail service -- MOST of the time I never had a problem getting a beverage even in the less traveled slot areas, that’s a Plus +.

Another first for me... in my 33 years of going to Vegas I could not get a morning coffee while gambling. that's a big minus-

Lounge act, it rocked late night that’s a plus +. December trip , the lady could not sing... Dec 06 trip there was no lounge act the area is gone, it's a Restaurant.

Comps, nothing extra above or beyond.

Customer base -- is comprised mostly of nicely dressed people on a vacation that don’t mind paying some extra money because they are on vacation and want to stay someplace nice. There were also many Convention airs there on an expense account. The December trips, the rodeo starts Friday so we expect some cowboys and pretty cow girls on Thursday. It looked like a sea of cowboy hats. Dec 06, not many cowboy hats.

My over all rating

The May 05 Trip, A nice clean hotel, that slightly over charges their patrons a few bobbles here and there.

The December 05 trip, a nice hotel that over charges.

The December 06 trip average hotel that over charges.

The April 07 trip with the wife, "She felt comfortable staying there, she would go back"

My comment - Your on your vacation, your willing to spend some extra money. You expect to pay a little extra for your room and food. this hotel would be a comfortable place to over spend.

As for me, The dec. trips to the Mirage will be fine. But it's time to look at one of the other postcard deals we get in the mail and see where the wife will be staying in August 07.

Rooms on the 24th and 25th floor are best deal. Clean, large bathrooms, very quiet. You get a special elevator pass that takes you right up with no waiting. Japanois was superlative restaurant. Good breakfast choices. Friendly casino. Staff was more than helpful and went out of their way to satilsfy. Beatles show was the highlight of our stay. We spent a week and will happily return.

Girls get-a-way. Great atmosphere, great location. We always felt safe. Carnige deli is ridiculous in portion sizes - share for $3 exta. Roasted bean is excellent for quick and cheaper breakfast. Onda was overpriced and overcooked. Dealers were VERY nice, friendly and helpful. Slots a little tight. Tables were fun fun fun. EVERYONE from housekeeping to pit bosses were there to help - they didn't act like we were bothering them with our questions. Check your players points. Travelled over from UK to Vegas to celebrate Christmas. Hotel was big but comfortable. No problems with room. Not too sure why Kokomos was such a popular restaurant, it was very nice and the food was wonderful but nothing really special. The bar was fantastic and the bar staff were very smiley and generous. Everything was clean and tidy and in working order. Cant wait to come back again! Wont pay extra for the view again though, it certainly made a difference to the check out bill!!!!!

I and three of my cousins visited the Mirage on July 9th thru the 13th check in was fast and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location on the strip can't be beaten. The food was also very good at there resturants as well as the buffet-- Cravings, was excellent. The room was nice and the beds comfortable, the only knock that I had on the Mirage was the bathrooms are a little on the small size but they are adequate. The hotel and casino are also very clean. We also would all go back and stay ther again.

We always play at the Mirage during our annual trip to Vegas and we always win there. Usually we triple our money because the slots are so kind to us. Beverage service is also kind. It’s always one of our favorite places to play both on the strip and off. They have also made some nice improvements to the casino floor and restaurants over the last few years.

Although we haven’t actually stayed at the Mirage for a few years we would consider staying there again as the property seems to be getting more modern with some of the changes they have made. When we did stay there in 2001 we felt that the room was nice but other parts of the hotel and casino were a little run down and dated. Seems like they are making some changes and moving in the right direction.

It was an OK hotel but not worth the price. I booked the spring deal online and the webpage said it came with a complimentary deluxe view upgrade with online booking. One would think this is automatic when I booked but instead at check-in I had to show the employee the page I printed out; then I was told it's only upon request and only if such a room is available at time of check-in. I would expect the run-around from a cheap motel but not the Mirage. Also, other good hotels have lots of rotating or automatic doors so you don't get crushed trying to walk in with your luggage, the Mirage doors were manual and heavy. As for the casino, I sat in the sports room for 1.5 hours before a waitress bothered to come around. The pool area was nice but I'd prefer the MGM pool over this one. Funny - I read on two websites about how strict entrance to this pool is (hotel guests only). But the entrance booth is just a kid looking at your key. I walked right by the attendant one day while he was chatting up some girls and the next day I saw someone else wander in while the attendent was busy. The spa & weight room were basic - one sauna, one whirlpool tub. Cardio machines were packed together tight. Not a lot of space for stretching. Good trail mix in the lounge though. Generally, I'd say this place is OK but not luxurious - I think it should be priced more like the Monte Carlo.

The Mirage - May 16 through May 20, 2006. This was our second stay at Mirage, and much less satisfactory than last time. The biggest complaint is about the pool. Even on Wednesday and Thursday, not heavy days, the pool was terribly overcrowded. Since the temperature was hitting 100 degrees every day, if you couldn't find space with some shade, spending more than an hour was suicide. Everyone we spoke to at the pool was frustrated, and that tends to ruin your vacation.

On the plus side, Kokomo Steak House was one of the best restaurants we've visited, and well worth the money. Cravings, CPK and Room Service were fine.

Stack Restaurant was so-so, and not at all worth their prices.

We stayed in a large Penthouse Suite on the 27th. floor and it was excellent.

The casino is okay, but there are a few table games supervisors who look and act as though they'd rather swallow broken light bulbs than smile or try to make their players feel welcome. At the craps tables, I got the sense that they saw their relationship with the patrons as "them against us".

This was in stark contrast to my experience during a three night stay earlier in the week at Caesars Palace. Caesars casino personnel make you feel that it's their goal and duty to have you enjoy yourself, win or lose, and I always did. The difference in attitude alone was enough to make me decide to spend my next week in Vegas with CP, and skip The Mirage.

Both properties cost about the same, are located next door to each other, and have comparably excellent rooms and restaurants. But Caesars wins for its great casino attitude, and for its fabulous pools, "The Garden of the Gods", that are amazingly never crowded, not even on Saturday. If you are debating between these two, go to Caesars Palace, pay for a room in the new Augustus Tower, and you won't regret it for one minute.

The biggest advantage to the Mirage is the location. Check in was busy but well organized. View was horrible but I did not request a premium view so I got what I didn't pay for. This must be one of the most popular hotels on the Strip because it was extremely crowded mid week. In my opinion it is overpriced but you are paying for mid strip location. The dolphin sanctuary and secret gardens were nice but be prepared to pay 15.00 each to see it even for hotel guests. The poolside cafe had excellent food. The casino is just a casino but wasn't crowded. They were all at the pool. Be aware that they are doing some renovating in the lobby area which distracts from the appearance of the atrium/ aquarium and was a little disappointing. Upon leaving received a 200.00 comp for part of room tab so that was nice. Would only stay there again if the rooms were comped ahead of time.

On our last two trips to Vegas we have stayed at the Mirage. At first we were a little put out because of all the changes being made, but in order to keep up with the Jones's you need to upgrade. On the second trip we were used to the changes...a new high rollers room, new restaurants and bars were welcome additions. We have never stayed in a standard room (we have only stayed there on special occations)but we stayed in a two bedroom tower suite one our first visit, and last time when our room wasn't ready they upgraded us to a two bedroom penthouse suit. Granted, we are not big gamblers but are willing to pay for a nice room and for $300/night/couple you can't beat the suites at the Mirage for prices and accomodations. They have the most economical suites in town. For a great value and attention to detail I would stay at the Mirage any time.

Unsure whether I like this place I think it is a bit overrated. The rooms are clean and the staff is very professional but the rooms are also starting to show their age and the bathroom is one of the smallest in town. Our bathtub would not drain properly when we took showers. I think the mirage still gets premium prices for their rooms because of the good casino, the beautiful pool, and pretty good customer service but you can find nicer rooms for less price at other strip properties.

We found an excellent rate in the hotel website. We got an excellent view to the volcano and the strip. What we did not like was the room housekeeping. Usually we left the room at 9:30am and returned back from walking around 4:00pm to get ready for the shows and nightlife just to discover that the room not been clean up. Even with the vainilla scent in the casino, there was so much cigarrete and cigars smoke that it was imposible to stay on it for more than 10 minutes. The hotel location is excellent with the Venetian, TI, Harrahs and Cesar Palace at walking distance. The buffet at Crawlings is good but overprice.

The Mirage has always been my favorite hotel of choice in Vegas. This visit did nothing to change that. I will definitely stay here again.

The location of the Mirage cant be beat. Recieved a great 99$rate with some food credit and a view! Me and the wife loved everything. The casino is just the right size, great pool, view, romantic rooms and excellant location! We are going back in July to stay in a tower sweet with a larger group. Comps left something to be desired, the Wynn was generouse with comps with little play. Overall great property!P.S. Play Foxwire Slot!

Stayed 4 nights. This has always been a great place to stay. We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so. The Mirage is not overly stuffy or pretentious. While some of the changes look good, I hope they don't try to compete with other "trendy" places and lose that which keeps the Mirage a great place to stay on the strip

i'm going to be biased on this one. check in clerk asked if we wanted to upgrade to room with a view. i said no but questioned her about the rooms i had read about on the 24 and 25 floor. she told me an extra 50.00 bucks a night my wife and i could have a nicer room with a bigger bathroom(jacuzzi). i said no thanks i was just curious. she gave us the key to the room which was on the 25th floor. i said you made a mistake i did not want it. she said no charge. have a nice stay. after being up for over 30 hours except for that nap on the plane i tipped her. now that i think about it i wasn't quite generous enough. 200.00 dollar deal.

when we go back i'm going to try and find her.

room was excellent. towels whenever you got out of the shower. bed turned down with chocolates and flowers. room made up promptly when we went to eat breakfast. just a fantastic stay.

caution!!! the bars of fancy soap have little pieces of bamboo or something mixed in them. be careful where you use that soap.

sometimes a smile gets you a long way. don't be afraid to tip!

The Mirage has always been one of my favorite properties on the strip. The location is good, nice selection of restaurants and one of the most comfortable casinos on the strip to gamble in. I also love the south pacific themes.

Stayed here again in January, unfortunately during CES. They overbooked the Tower Rooms and tried to bump me into a regular room with a view of the interstate without even adjusting the price. Considering I booked 6 months out knowing CES would be in town specifically to avoid that problem, this annoyed me considerably. I ultimately had to settle for a volcano view on a high floor at a discounted price. They ultimately made it right, but I shouldn't have had to play the "irate customer" role to get it, they should've been proactive the instant they knew they had to bump me.

I'll forgive it this time as the rest of the stay was excellent as always. The only knocks I have on the property is the fact that they do not keep the halls clear and the bathrooms are showing their age. The latter is hard to fix as the Mirage is approaching 20 years old and just was not designed with the hugh bathrooms that are now somewhat standard on the newer strip properties. However, the former should be remedied. Not once did I come down the hall without seeing multiple cars, room service trays, etc cluttering the hall. No big deal, but not something I expect in a 4 diamond property.

Overall, the Mirage has become quite a value for those who want somewhat upscale service but do not want to pay for the likes of Bellagio, Venetian or even Caesars.

We stayed at the Mirage for a company function, and this was our first trip to Vegas to boot. Granted we aren't able to accurately rate the value (as it was free)the hotel was quite beautiful. We stayed at The Mirage for two nights/three days and both days the room was in great order. We never did see an employee on our floor, but when we would come back the beds were made and we had fresh towels. For the size of the conference that was staying between The Mirage & T.I. (5,000+)I think they did a great job. I'm now going back to Vegas next month, but with it being a personal trip on my dime, I'm staying elsewhere. It was nice though..

Overall, our stay here was great. I could go on and on about the cool volcano or the wonderful fish aquarium, but I'll just caution you about a few inconveniences we had during our stay. We received an invitation in the mail for 3 nights in a Deluxe Room, as well as a welcome gift and tickets to see Hall & Oates live. I booked the room about a month early. The Mirage marketing rep took my MasterCard debit card (check card) number and gave me a confirmation number. Upon check-in (which had really long lines...even at midnight), I was informed that they would need a credit card because they no longer accept debit cards (even though this was the same debit card I used at another MGM property the previous year). Now, if you have credit cards (with $100 available per night of your stay) then that is fine, but I paid both of my cards off and stopped using them because of the interest rates. Long story short, I was able to sign something stating that it was okay if there was a 30-day hold on anything The Mirage charged/held. Just something to keep in mind when you are making reservations.

As I mentioned above, check-in took awhile. Understandable. But check-out was downright painful. :/ We stood in line over an hour with our luggage. Also, the marketing rep made it sound as though we were getting a really great room---it turned out to be on the 2nd floor and our out-the-window-view was of a wall. We requested a jacuzzi (which they said was not a problem), but it was just a regular room--no jacuzzi. (It was free, so I can't complain. They just made the whole thing sound much better than it really was).

When I asked about the Hall & Oates tickets, the lady at the check-in counter told me to see someone at the Players Club counter for those. I went by there and was told I would have to go to the ticket sales counter at the Danny Gans Theater at noon the following day. When I arrived, they had to check to see if they had any tickets available. (These were supposedly already reserved and promised to us, yet, for a brief moment we thought we might not get to see the show).

Our room didn't have the Do Not Disturb tag you hang on the doorknob and I think they must be rare or something because no one would give us one. :) Housekeeping just continued to knock (and in some cases, knocking closely followed by unlocking the door and attempting to come in). They'd apologize and then say they didn't see a tag. We had to finally get one at the front desk.

We will stay here again (though we prefer TI), but we won't do it with any promised comps from the hotel. I felt as though I had to remind them or beg for the 'free stuff' and I'd rather just pay if that is going to be the case. Plus, I'll know better what to expect. Also, we never received the welcome gift...and I didn't ask. If you are staying at The Mirage because you received comps in the mail and promises of tickets and rooms...just double-check with them and make sure it's definite. Also, ask for a Casino Host and keep in contact with them. When you arrive, the Casino Host should be able to take care of everything. I learned that a little too late for this trip.

We enjoyed ourselves so much we are returning this weekend which is 9/29/05(by the way we get comp rooms!!) this is the most player friendly casino that we have been to, we ate free, we only had to pay for one night stay instead of four!!! If you go there to drink alot you might be disappointed, the drinks aren't very frequent. They were doing some construction but that didn't bother us none, if you want a classy place to stay I would definitely suggest the Mirage!!!

Spent four nights the week of Aug. 22. Had reservations for volcano view room, but used the $20 trick to upgrade to a Deluxe Tower room on the 25th floor. These rooms have larger bathrooms, including a Jacuzzi and double sink, than the rooms on floors below. You also get an express elevator that goes only to the 24th and 25th floors. The view was spectacular, offering vistas of Treasure Island, Wynn, mountains, The Venetian, Casino Royale, Harrah's and airplanes landing at McCarran. The only downside was the room was a "smoking optional" room. This means smoking room, folks. Ask for the 24th floor, which has the Deluxe Tower non-smoking rooms. No such rooms were available when we checked in, and since we were with a couple who had not been in Vegas since their honeymoon in 1979, we opted for Strip-view smoking rooms over pool-view non-smoking views. When we arrived at our room, there was a fruit basket along four liters of Evian water. We thought this was cool until we opened the card, and it said, "Welcome to The Mirage, Mr. and Mrs. NOT OUR NAME! I called the front desk, figuring they would say, "By all means keep the fruit basket, and we will send the other couple a new basket." Nope, they said they would send someone up to gather the basket. And when the guy came in, he not only took the basket but my wife's room key and our certificates for a free dolphin plush toy from the gift shop! A call back to the front desk cleared everything up quickly, and by the time I got down to the front desk they had our gift certificates. This was a minor inconvenience, however, and overall I would say The Mirage's service was excellent, and we wouldn't hesitate to return. As for the casino, I did well with late-night/early morning sessions at the $10 blackjack tables. Dealers were exceptional. Went to Danny Gans on our last night, and he puts on a great show. Highlight was his series of Jeff Foxworthy "You might be a redneck if ..." jokes and his Carnac the Magnificent bit. Before the show, we went to the Samba Grill restaurant just off the casino floor. We found this to be a unique dining experience. The servers bring the marinated rotisserie-cooked meats on large swords to your tables and slice off portions. We had a great circular booth in the corner that gave us a perfect view of the restaurant and the casino below. The meal was good -- but not as good as the $4.95 steak special at Ellis Island Casino and Brewery on Koval Lane! That's the best deal in Vegas, hands down. Our friends, who had played some slots throughout the week at The Mirage, received their entire four-night stay comped! Check in with the Player's Club before you check out to see if you qualify for any comps.

After seeing that the Mirage was listed at the top of this list, I had to write about my experience. I had 2 free nights at Mirage and then I was headed to GVR for 3 nights. When we arrived the automatic doors were being worked on. When we did not want the bellboy to take our bags to the room (we only had 4 and did not want to wait for them to arrive), 5 bellboys stood there and watched us try to get the door open and our luggage through it. The check in was chaos. No one knew who was next and it took forever. The clerk told me I needed a host and I told her things would have to change alot for me to need a host. I did not know I was going to have to drag my luggage so far through the casino to get to my room. The room was average,as was the food and service. I only spent one night and called GVR the next day. They came and picked up my mother and I and we never had to touch our bags after I got them to the lobby.

Stayed four nights in a beautiful suite that was offered at a reasonable rate through the hotel itself. Exceptionally nice room on the top floor with an outstanding view of the pool and the strip, including the Bellagio fountains and Eiffel Tower and all the hotels on the east side of the strip from the Flamingo down to the Tropicana. Amazingly quiet! It was almost like we had the whole floor to ourselves (though we didn't).

Great service, very quick and attentive; complimentary champagne and ice bucket was delivered one night (I guess this was due to the fact that we happened to mention at checkin that it was our anniversary); they also delivered fresh flowers (orchids) that were imported from Hawaii the day before (or so the card said). Had two suits and a dress pressed by the hotel and they were finished quickly and expertly. The hotel grounds are (I think) the lushest in Vegas. A fantastic pool, which was an unexpected highlight. Truly a paradise atmosphere with the palms and the waterfalls. Yes, the pool gets busy early with people in line right as it opens, but we got there after opening each day and found seats together each time. We were never unpleasantly squeezed together too tightly, though I could see where this might happen on the busiest days or weekends. I wouldn't consider the pool, or the hotel as a whole, particularly kid friendly, though it's more so than Bellagio, Wynn, or Caesar's.

Enjoyed casual meals in the Caribe Cafe (which must be where most of the room service meals are prepared as the menus are similar. It's all good.) The lounge act at Ava was a good band, loud and rockin', perfect for late night with a drink or two. Didn't eat at the other restaurants there, so I can't comment on the food, but I did notice that Kokomo's is nestled into the indoor "tropicial forest" and looked intriquing.

Also enjoyed the dolphin habitat and Secret Gardens, which in my opinion was more interesting and a better use of time/money than, for instance, the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. The casino has a vibrant atmosphere. It's not stuffy, but it's not tacky--a very nice balance. Very pleased with every interaction with the hotel staff, from the housekeepers to the checkin staff, to the porters and bell staff, and the management. I would stay here again in an instant.

Just got back from a four-night stay at the Mirage. We are already planning our next visit! Can't think of one negative thing about our stay.

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite and would recommend that to anyone. The room was magnificant, service remarkable, and the time spent there was perfect. The floor to ceiling windows allow a wonderful view (what you see depends upon which direction you face). The furniture is quite comfortable and usable. The bathroom was as large as some rooms I've stayed in during past trips!

We ate at the Caribe Cafe and the Cravings Buffet. Both were excellent. The buffet was surprising due to the fact that we had read ratings that showed it as "passable" only. Anything we ate was great and very tasty. Service was quite good as well. Lines weren't too long at all. The prices are a bit higher than the buffets at other hotels, but it was at least as good as most and a step above some. The other restaurants looked interesting, but we didn't get the chance to try any of them.

The casino is very large and offers a wide variety of gaming options. We spent most of our time at the slots, but all the standard games were available. Didn't like the minimum bet levels on most tables during "prime time," but most stayed busy. Slots range in price from a penny a play to the "sky is the limit" price tag.

I would and will stay again at the Mirage! I can't wait to go back.

Did not stay here just went to grab a sandwich and gamble. Well we passed on the high dollar ($12 plus) sandwiches and gambled. Slots were super tight. My biggest complaint though is when the valet staff LOST our car! We had to wait 45 minutes when they searched for it! I was politely told that this happens when they are busy like they were... but not to worry they always find the cars after a "look through". UGH.. They had to search glove boxes of various cars to match my name with the rental agreement..45 minutes later. Not so much as a complimentary soft drink offered for wasting our limited vacation time. The valet man said its unusual for this to happen with a light blue car its usually the white cars. What a joke. Never again. I guess that they have enough numbers coming through the door that things like this to lose people just don't matter. BTW I did not ask for anything comp.. its not my style but SOMETHING should have been offered.

Great hotel, service is excellent. The penthouse suites are beautiful and half the price during the week. The lounge band is excelent in AVA. The location is the best part about the hotel. You can't get anymore in the center of things. There is a monorail station just across the street in Harrahs. Have stayed at MGM and Excaliber, but the Mirage was ten times better than either one.

WHAT A JOKE!!! I had better service at ho jo's. First off when we got there, they gave my non smoking room away, I have asthma and this was a MUST, and told them when we booked our room. They told us they might change our room the next day between 12pm and 4 pm if they had one. We were not going to waste a day for that. NEXT, We took an item to be dry cleaned, it came back NOT cleaned, AND they put it in the closet, doors WIDE open, and clothes on the floor. There's more. The next day, the house keeper used my Grilfriends makeup. YES you read that right. It had an interlocking, non spill lid, that was tricky to put back on, she couldn't figure it out so she left it spilled all over the place. Not to mention, we had to call for TOILET PAPAER and TISSUES. This was real bad folks. And the sad part, at check out, they wouldn't even give us the time of day. We called and complained all week, and nothing. All we got was well you have a room, or what can we do about it. It is the most beautifull hotel to look at, but the service sucks. Tat checkout there were a TON of filks compaining. I sure Miss Steve Wynn. Harrah's, Rio, Stardust are MUCH better buys with MUCH better service. Please see our buffet and show raings for MUCH BETTER reviews. Please please please e-mail us with any questions thanks :-)

We came all the way from Paris and were really exhausted.

Check in was ok but could have been better, because after 16 hours spending on a plane, you're in a hurry to get into your room, but our request for a room with the view strip has been done. The room is big but were really surprised that the bathroom was really small, it will be only the bad point, but in all room was clean, but despite of this point, the hotel did worth it, there was the most beautiful pool in all the hotels in Las vegas, the staff are always willing to help you and alway smiling, we felt good in this hotel, a beautifull hotel, and it's well located, between the Caesar and the Treasure. I would definitively recommend this hotel, we had a wonderful stay in this hotel and in las vegas. You won't be disappointed! And our next trip to Las vegas, we will definitively go back to this hotel!

I stayed in one of the Mirage's penthouse suites and it was by far one of the best rooms and vacations I have had in vegas in a long time. The room was fantastic with tons of room (huge bathrooms and dressing area, living room, dining room). The service was first rate from housekeeping to managers. The crouds can get a little overwhelming at times but I think that is just about every hotel on the strip now. The location is fantastic. After staying in this suite I almost hate to go back home, fantastic stay! Great casino where you get alot of play for your money

We have branch there and the food is quite good and service is excellent. The customer service for check-in and check-out is so helpful. I really will stay to this hotel again.

We have stayed at the Mirage 3 times now and we have had a great stay each time. The check in is very courteous, timely, and helpful. We have great rooms each time and with a great view. This past Thanksgiving we took the Mother-In-Law who was a Vegas virgin and we were unable to stay at the Mirage because of availability so we were at Caesar's Palace and its a very nice place but way to big. We visited Mirage a lot because it being our favorite place in Vegas and the MOTHER-IN-LAW kept saying how much she liked the Mirage because of its atmosphere and the cocktail service and the way everyone makes you feel so like they are there just for you.

Well in March 21-25 2005 we are going back to Mecca and staying at the Mirage and by the way Mother-In-Law is going again and we are staying in the Mirage.

The resturants are great my favorite being Onda's and for breakfast you have to check out the Roasted Bean great coffee and bagels, bear claws so forth. We also really enjoyed Cravings Buffet.

I was there in July and the pool is fantastic with great bar service, and beautiful scenery. Go there and tip a towel boy and you can get any lounger you want. Green is the color to have in Las Vegas as it will open doors you can't believe.

The Mirage is fantastic and I think the only place that might in my opinion beat it will be Wynn of Las Vegas when it opens in April, 2005.

Arrived early on a Friday morning; the bell check took our bags, and stored

them. When it was time to check in, enjoyed the fish aquarium behind the

counter. Intended to come back and take pix, especially when the divers

were in there, but never made it. The bell boy brought our bags in a very

short time, and gave us info on the room, frig, checking out by the TV etc.

The room was very nice, well decorated. It could have a sink outside the

barhroom, but it was manageable. Casino was very smokey; hotel is so

nice, I would think it would have better ventilation. Enjoyed the tiger in the

outer area. Maid service was great.

Pool very crowded, heard people waited to get into the pool at 7 even tho

it didn't open until 9. Not many paths left open between lounge chairs to

maneuver. Good drinks, friendly employees. Enjoyed the chinese

restaurant & the ice cream shop, and coffee shop.

No, it's NOT a dump, but it's certainly not what it used to be. MGM can dress it up as good as anybody, but it will never be the same under the Wynn ownership, the casino was Packed...the people were rude, and the odds of you being able to get a cocktail waitress, is about the same was winning the jackpot. This place isn't what it used to be, a giant package [outdated package], that pretends to be what it want's to be...but those days are long gone, and you'll have better value, and a better time booking on the Strip elsewhere. BTW...what's with all the fire engines, and ambulance @ The Mirage, I swear everytime I walked back from the Strip to the Casino Sirens were always pointing in the direction Of the Mirage. An oasis in the desert, can now be seen elsewhere...why not stay @ the Monte Carlo instead, you might actually have some fun there. Too many people, to many rude staff...left a day early out of Vegas, because of my experience in July of 2004. Love 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003...I may give it a chance, when it changes ownership.

The only bad thing about this hotel is the pool although the pool area is nice the bed situation stinks. On the first day we got to the pool at 3 minutes past 8 in the morning, now bearing in mind that the pool doesn't open untill 8 am 90 % of the beds were reserved. There were people searchinh for beds all morning and still the reserved ones hadn't been used. It was the pool attendents who had reserved them for people who didn't arrive untill at leasr lunch time. This really stinks. Also the beds are so tightly packed together that you have no privacy

This is my favorite all-around place to stay in Las Vegas, and I've been to Vegas 20 or so times. The pool is fantastic. The service is second to none, even after Steve Winn sold out to MGM. The rain forest walkway from the lobby to the casino probably has had as many pictures taken by visitors than any other spot in the US.

Mirage Hotel and Casino

Date Visited: 05/04 - Good Visit

The Mirage is a pleasant, typical, Middle-Strip hotel. If what is important to you in a Vegas stay is a top-tier pool and several high-quality dining options, then The Mirage should be high on your list.

The pool has a well-deserved reputation. Good luck getting a cabana if you're not a well-comped player, but there's enough shade from the palms that you shouldn't need it. There's a nice bar (Dolphin Bar) in the pool complex too.

The rooms are fine, but there is nothing spectacular here. The layout is a little odd with a somewhat oversized entryway that results in an undersized bathroom. The size of the bathroom doesn't matter if you are traveling alone, but if both you and your traveling mate are both trying to get dressed for dinner and a night out, its a minor inconvenience.

We booked a petite suite for an anniversary trip. the limo ride to and from airport was great. $275 a night for the room but worth it I feel. Service was great at every thing we tried. Room service for breakfast on time and very tasty food. Ate in the cafe .. again very good service from an attentive wait staff. Called housekeeping one night around midnight to get wife another pillow responded within 5 minutes. Bell service with luggage was first rate. Friendly casino persons as well. Players club staff good as well and comped some breakfast and a little cash back. Overall the hotel experience was very good. Casino a little tight and crowded at times but the Mirage is a tourist draw which contributes to the crowding. The pool needs help. Don't let folks drop off towels at the crack of dawn then return to their seat hours later while others are looking for seats that do not exist. Have stayed at Venetian, Caesars, Desert Inn, Excalibur, and even CircusCircus. Obiviously don't go to the last two but as far as the service I would stay at Mirage again. Rooms are nicer at Venetian but service puts Mirage one up in my book.

Our visit here was so great, we were set up in a room that was a little bit of an upgrade and it was a nice sized, with an extremely clean whirlpool tub in our room, the view was fantastic. We enjoy checking out different hotels when we go to Vegas. We stayed 3 nights and then moved to Mandalay Bay. This hotel was so much better. We wished we had just stayed at the Mirage! The table minimums are a bit high for my taste and we spent most of our time gambling elsewhere. But the atmosphere is wonderful and great rates are out there (we spent $99 per night with free tix to the garden and $25 restaurant credit. We will stay here again.

We stayed in the Mirage for the first time .We booked it for 3 nights and 4 days . The service was great .the checkin and check out was fast .. we had to ask for a room change when we checked in as they gave us a really stinky room in the beginning as probably it was all prepaid or something . But when we got the room changed , it had a nice partial view of strip . We paid like $200 a night and they told us to get a view room we have to shed another $20 for each night .Not good .We did not paid anything else .

We aalso had our players card and we got 500 players point and they did not reimbursed us anything saying that we have to have a 1000 point to get anything and that includes being on their email list too .. Not good .

We stayed in MGM GRand for one night also as our flight got cancelled .. Mirage rooms are far better .

The best thing I like was a huge magnifying makeup mirror which I did not find anywhere else . Lots of closet space ,nice clean rooms but the bathroom was a little small and shower was too weak .

Although it was a nice visit , but I will look for Venetian , Bellagio or Ceasers the next time . If I do not find any good deal only then I will consider this one.

But one point is that it is better than most of all except Bellagio , Ceasers , and Venetian .
