Stayed here with a few other guys for a fun weekend. We got a great deal on the rooms through a

web offer (make sure to sign up on their email list). For the money you can't really get a better

value on the strip. Yes there are fancier hotels, but this is a solid 3.5 to 4 star property.

Rooms were clean and good size. Bathrooms not as nice as other 4+ star strip properties but

entirely adequate. Bed was a bit firm for my tastes.

Casino is great. Was there on a Saturday nit and they have a party pit with girls dancing and $5

and $10 blackjack (albeit crappy 6:5). Rest of casino has great 3:2 blackjack. Drink service was

pretty good but the servers had a long trek from the bat to the tables. Sportsbook OK with fair

chairs (not as good as others on the strip) and I don't think I ever saw a cocktail waitress. Go next

door to Aria for a better book.

Pool was ok a didn't use it though.

Ate at the buffet for breakfast and found it to be not a vert good value. I've had better at MGM for

about the same price. Didn't eat any other meals there but they do have a food court with Subway

and other stuff which was very nice for a quick bite.

I wou

D definitely recommend Monte Carlo for the solid value and great location.

Although we previously wrote that we would not return to this hotel, we received an offer we could not ignore and since the construction at City Center is no longer an issue we did return. Rooms are dated but clean and staff throughout the hotel were pleasent. Slots were tight and VP a challenge with poor paytables. Food was average but affordable. A good location makes it easy to visit other casinos and the tram allows easy access to City Center and the Bellagio. With the right offer we would return.

Having just got back from my second trip to Las Vegas in five weeks, I wanted to comment on my stay at the Monte Carlo:

1) This is a VERY clean casino/hotel that is easy to navigate your way around.

2) The staff are exceptionally helpful and polite, although the housekeeping staff barge right in your room in the morning after knocking softly once. The cleaning lady got an eyeful as I was climbing in the shower!

3) The buffet is fantastic, but Dragon Noodle is overpriced and the food is not that great. The food court is decent, but completely packed at lunchtime with stinky filthy construction workers from the adjacent property.

4) The rooms are nice, but the noise of the construction next door is bothersome.

5) The pools are nice, but are designed for young drunk people.

6) The parking garage is clean, but spots are at a premium.

Overall, it is a nice place to stay.

Didn't stay here, but played here as we played at other properties on this trip.

Was disappointed that so much has changed since our last visit...as we were with the other properties as well. There seems to be less glitz, less machines and no payouts. Tight, tight, tight! That stinks.

My machine tilted and it took nearly 30 minutes for anybody to come fix it, even though the people who do so were standing less than 10 ft away chatting with each other. That did not make me happy. Nothing spectacular here at all...rather mundane casino. No drink service either

I have been staying off and on at the Monte Carlo since 2004. This hotel seems to be perfect for me for a few reasons. 1. Center of the action on the strip 2. The price is unbeatable for the location 3. No kids running around (NY NY is terrable for that) 4. The poker room and sports book is very nice and inviting 5. The distance from anywhere in the building to the strip or to the elevator pod is never more than a 5 minute walk, if that. The only thing that I can say I was disapointed about on my most recent trip was the fact that the sports book has started to hand out those darn drink coupons when you place a bet. It was so nice when you could just sit in the sports book and get drinks non stop without the use of a coupon. It kinda cheepens the whole atmosphere. I place many bets in the sports book and would just rather not have to hand the gal a business card looking coupon everytime I want a drink. I guess to many people were taking advantage of that perk. Brand steak house was very good. I will write about that in the proper section. All in All it was another great stay at the Monte Carlo. The best bang for the buck on the strip in my opinion.

This was our 4th visit to the Monte Carlo during the Christmas holidays. We have always loved the fact that this property is easy to navigate and has a more intimate appeal. The serivice at the front desk was as friendly as it has been in the past but the check-in process seemed to take so much longer than usual. There were only 2 or 3 people ahead of us but we were in line for at least 30-40 minutes. When we arrived in our Strip side room, we found the the usual cleaniness was not apparent. The bath tub was dirty and the bathroom floor was definitely not clean. The bedspreads were dingy looking and the windows to the Strip were filthy. The overall look was definitely in need of an update. We did not experience the construction noise as we were on the opposite end of the hotel. The casino seemed somewhat tired and lacked the excitement we usually feel when we gamble. The slots were most definitely "tight" as we usually break even or go home with a little change in our pocket. We have decided that for next year we are going to try some place new and see if the Monte Carlo can get their act together in the mean time. It breaks my heart to have to stay somewhere else because we loved this property so much, but since this is our only vacation for the year, we want to make it the best we can.

This is the third time we have elected to stay here. Past visits have been good, and good value. This time was weirdly out of sync at every level.

We didn't get into our room until after 5PM. Somehow, when I book 4 months in advance and show up at 10:30AM I expect to be in the room quicker than that.

And it wasn't like we were in some exclusive suite. My in-laws, who booked at the last minute were in their room on the same floor before 2PM. (Same style room we had...) Something ain't right here.

They've closed the brewpub (Nov.08) so you won't get good beer here anymore. The new eatery, Diablo's, is at best mismanaged.

All the remodeling over the last two years is apparently taken place in a vacuum. Seems they don't have a clue what people want. And the reconstruction goes blindly on. They moved the valet pick-up twice while we were there.

I have never experienced smaller pillows in any hotel that I have ever stayed.

This was just a downer experience. I am not too demanding but there are some things that I have come to expect from the Monte Carlo that were not delivered this trip.

Let me start by saying that I have stayed at the Monte Carlo 3 time previously and everything was good to great. This visit, however, was a disaster of biblical proportions. Well, maybe not that bad but it wasn't pleasant. To start, at check-in I asked for a quiet room as I'm a light sleeper, they proceeded to put me in a room facing the new city center construction which, by the way, starts up at 5:00am BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! As I entered the room the reek of bad men's cologne from the previous tenant attacked my senses, either that or the cleaning staff sprayed something to cover up an existing smell.

The bathroom was very large, which was nice, but the shower was disgusting. The shower head itself was located a good 18 inches below the top of my head(I'm only 6 foot) and the bottom of the tub was covered in some kind of slime that I don't even want to speculate on. The toilet flushed with the power of a turbo engine on crank and made noises like the moaning of the damned. The mattress was slanted, in part, on a 25 degree angle and was not in good shape. This was the room from hell and I asked to be moved to another but they said they were fully booked. I was never so glad to check out of a room before.I'm going to check out some other hotels next time I go to vegas, this visit left a bad taste in my mouth.

Did not have a lot of luck in the casino but enjoyed the wide open area. Did not notice much construction noise. Would stay here again if the offer was good.

Just got back and its not that its a horrible hotel, just not for us. The front desk made us feel like just a tenant. When mistakes were made they just gave us "we don't do anything for that..." Room was ok, beds left something to be desired. The pool was like a stockyard with people on top of people and the construction by the pool is a huge eye/ear sore. If you get a great deal its fine.

I honestly can't imagine this hotel receiving bad reviews. The front desk made sure we had a pleasurable stay and that it was everything we had requested. Upon checking in (which did not take long at all) we were put on the 21st floor. We heard constant jack hammering noise from internal construction work going on. We immediately called the front desk and they comped us a buffet (which we used for breakfast and LOVED the food) and they moved us to another floor which was just as nice and very quiet. We are non-smokers, so found it irritating when our neighbor decided to smoke. We called front desk and security immediately took care of the problem. Those were our only 2 problems and the management and staff were on top of it and professional in the way they resolved the issues. The casino was a bit tight. Not much winning going on, but enjoyable enough that we didn't feel the need to venture elsewhere for our gambling fun. We enjoyed the pool and lazy river very much. Very relaxing and loved that we didn't have to leave our lounge chairs to get a drink. The only gripe I have about their drinks are that they are not very "alcoholic"... kind of watered down and expensive. We love Vegas. This was our first time to stay at the MC. We've already decided we will be bringing our kids next summer and enjoying the stay at MC! OH yes, the rooms are nice with thorough cleaning everyday. Very nice housekeepers. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. However, with bringing the kids next summer - we'll definitely book a suite. The walls are a little thin... but that's not managements problem. However, if you have an issue, they will take care of it. We loved it. Will definitely stay again!

We recently stayed there with our 3.5 yr old twins for one night (after staying at the wonderful Mirage for 2 nights). The construction at this hotel is unbearable, you have to drive through it just to get to the valet. Our so called "suite" was ugly with filthy carpets, I did not want to walk barefoot. There was an OPEN utility closet in the bathroom that probably had mice walking around in there. We had to call maintenance to seal it shut. We were very excited to see that they had a dvd player for our kids but it was totally unplugged and not hooked up to the tv at all. Another call to maintenance. This room only had an armoire, no proper closet which was annoying. The room itself was very old looking with furniture that looked old and dingy. The electric closing curtain broke halfway down in the middle of the night and luckily we had an adjoining room so we all slept in that room so we were not awakened too early by the sun. The restaurant was totally overpriced and just okay. The players club system was down most of the day and some of the night so I could not get my freeplay which was most of the reason we left the Mirage for this crappy hotel. The staff including the VIP staff were not helpful and I would almost say rude when I called. We took our kids swimming because we heard they had a wave pool. The wave pool was okay but so overcrowded our kids did not want to be in it. The entire pool area was waaaaay too crowded for my taste. The regular pool was too deep and very small. We stayed in for about 2 minutes. Both pools were FREEZING, I cannot believe that they are heated. If they are they keep it at the lowest setting possible. Needless to say I never want to step foot in this hotel again. Amazing to me that anyone would want to stay here. Hopefully you will think twice after you read this.

Bathrooms are dirty. Towels are not rinsed properly (harsh and stinky). Bed sheets are too small! they fall out from under the mattress. They should buy fitted sheets. Could not get a drink at the casino while gambling. The addition they are building (mexican restaurant) does not match the overall design of the hotel. They're ruining it! I used to visit this hotel every year. Now I'll go elsewhere. To a better place.

Stayed six days at Monte Carlo. Brew Pub and Blackstones are great. The casino was not too crowded and I could play about anything I wanted when I wanted. Staff was courteous except for housekeeping. Got a great deal to come out but they didn't comp much after we got there. Some noise from construction next door and they are building a hip hop club on the corner which may change the quiet casino atmosphere. Lance Burton was great as well. All around good location and a nice place.

Just got back from a week at the Monte Carlo...booked 4 rooms ($3500) for our daughter's wedding, wanting to do something really special for three big events..their wedding, our son's delayed honeymoon, and our 40th wedding anniversary. I regret to say it was one of the worst hotel experiences we've had in 40 years of visiting Vegas.

Starter list...Check in was delayed over 2 hours, requested king beds(at least for the wedding couple and our son and his wife who were on a delayed honeymoon)they were unavailable . Our room requests were made in February--not the week before we arrived, we requested rooms near each other--we had one on the 4th floor, one on the 6th, and two on 23 in opposite corridors, we requested a crib, got a playpen with no mattress, not one tub in 4 drained correctly, so when you took a shower you stood ankle-deep in dirty water, the stopper handles on two of the sinks came off so you had to pry the stopper up to let the water out, we requested rooms away from the construction...the wedding couple had 4 cranes right outside their window...and in Vegas construction goes on all night long (so much for romance).

While all this was frustrating, the WORST offense was a total lack of concern from the desk staff. Their suggestion for the wedding couple was to stay on call the next day for an available room...this was their wedding day...no one could stand by for them, they had to do it themselves (even though it was my credit card paying for the room). They played the wait game from 8 am til after 1 (the wedding was at 5) then said screw it and checked out. They got lucky, and got a much better room--for LESS money--at Luxor, so their problems were solved.

The rest of us stuck it out as it was just too much effort to move on a day when we were all so busy, but you can be sure this is the first and last trip to the Monte Carlo for us. Never have I seen such apathy and total lack of regard for what customers are saying...We have stayed at some fairly low-budget hotels over the years, and have been upgraded to suites for far fewer screw-ups. The only thing the Monte offered any of us was a buffet comp to the wedding couple, but only if they changed their minds about checking out...really!

So...sorry to rant, but wanted to let any of you know that if you're considering the Monte, and thought the deal might come with service, you're totally in for a shock. Save your money, folks! Choose another hotel, avoid the frustration of dealing with people who think they're doing you a favor just to talk to you. The only good news is that in spite of the MC, the wedding was fabulous, and Vegas was Vegas...fun, frantic, and fabulous. Thanks for listening. k

We stayed here 2/10 through 2/14. We asked for and received a 'quiet room' due to the construction of CityCenter. We were given room 4312 facing the NYNY parking garage and I-15. Not a great view but we have been so many times and didn't plan to be in the room that much anyway. The room was clean, shows some wear, but nothing more than to be expected. Had a minor problem with the message light on our phone but it was fixed by the hotel operator in a matter of seconds. Other than that, no issues. The bathroom is a tub/shower combo and we had excellant water pressure. For once I didn't feel like I had to stoop to get under the shower, I'm slightly tall and severl Vegas hotels have the shower heads set too low for my preference. The room had an in-room safe, in the closet, an iron, ironing board, a hair dryer and adequate space. The walk from the elevator was easy and ice/vending machines were near by. The ocnvenience of a CVS drug store next door was a plus for this location. The Duece made traveling the strip easier and stops southbound in front of the hotel, you can pick up northbound across the street at the M&M store. The pool area is closed due to constuction and the hotel's parking garage is down as well, but I understand you can use the NYNY garage. Friends of ours were on the 10th and 25th floors and were also pleased with their rooms.

Please use caution in booking here! We had been here two months earlier and stayed at the Luxor and was GREAT! So looked forward to staying here as heard it was very nice. What a mistake!!!! I upgraded to a Suite, which is located next to elevators, so you get to listen all night to the doors dinging, opening and a general meeting place for all to talk loudly! Room was the oddest room I have ever seen in it's layout and OLD furnishings and carpets turn your stomach. Soda machines on our floor took money, but wouldn't give any thing back, went to next two floors above and below and those machines didn't work at all. Called and they told me to come down to front desk, which stood in line for 45 minutes to get 1.00 back, better play time for a dollar than their slots! The morning we were to leave, we were awakend at 5:00 am with the smell of burning coming under the door to the next room. Don't know what it was but what a way to wake up. As we were leaving, valet brought our car around and the Lexus emblem had been ripped off the front grill over night while parked. Reported it to valet and they said we could file paperwork, but that it wouldn't do any good. Honest that is what they said! If you want a nice stay, don't make it this place or you will be disappointed. Even if you get it at a cheap price, not worth it. You have been warned.

This is the 3rd time staying at this hotel. The price was $59/night. Good deal. The rooms are spacious but didn't stay in the room much. One of the complaints was all the construction outside. We had a strip view, room 13220, they must not have any bylaw restrictions on construction noise as they were pile driving all night and you could hear the beep beep of the vehicles backing up. It was quite annoying. Ask for a room far away from the construction. They are building a Civic Centre next door. I also would have liked to see more coffee shops. Ate breakfast at the cafe, it was so so. The casino does not pay out at all. It's hard to find a $5 table. The dealers are friendly. Felt the casinos kept their casinos too hot. I love the location. I would stay here again.

Ever since the Monte Carlo was opened I have always wanted to stay there, so this time my partner and I booked 5 nights there starting November 28th.

We were both very excited, until we arrived. When you get there you will find that they have torn down the parking garage, leaving only about 500 parking spots for 3000 rooms. Needless to say, that did not get our stay off to a good start. Upon checking in I asked for a strip view which we got, room 9204. Really nice view of New York New York and MGM Grand. One huge problem. It is also the side of the building that they are building the City Center Project on. That is where the old Boardwalk casino use to be. All night and all day, you could here there backing up trucks, using jack hammers etc... We tried to make the best of it since we were so excited to be there. WARNING: This project will not be finished until Mid 2008.

That weekend, everything got worse. No parking spots at the parking area so you were always forced to use Valet. The Valet line was so long, it took 30 minutes on Friday night to get waited on. Needless to say, no one got a tip. Went up to our room to find out that the maid only fixed the bed. The glasses we used were still there, the ice bucket not emptied, the floor dirty and the trash still in the bin. Called housekeeping at 9 pm to come clean the room. Next day the same situation. I guess the Monte Carlo is cutting back on it's cleaning staff.

I did complain to the Hotel Manager and he removed $100 off our bill to make up for our issues. I recommend anyone who stays here do the same.

I had so hoped that the Monte Carlo was going to be nice, but I WILL NOT BE STAYING THERE AGAIN.. Next time, it will be Paris or Bally's again for us.

Enjoyed the Monte Carlo. Brew Pub is great! Great location on the South end surrounded by all the nicest places you will want to visit like Bellagio, Venetian, etc. Only negatives are- 1. No coffee pot, no discount for the Hotel show for registered guests (we chose not to go), and they do a poor job at promoting their own assests like the Brew Pub etc. The service was good except for a snide bellhop that I didn't tip and he shouted out "Thank you" sarcastically. Probably my mistake, but I tip when I get my bags back. Anyhow, it reflected poorly on the Hotel. The Craps lesson guy is also a bit high strung and insulted people that dare ask questions. I say send the guy packing and get someone without an anger management issue. I felt sorry for the people that asked questions. All in all though, that is all my complaints and we enjoyed the Hotel, Casino (won $330 on Blackjack), Buffet, Brew Pub, Rooms, and the location. Would definately recommend the Monte Carlo and go there again. Would be even better if Management would address the items I noted.

Well we just returned from Vegas and we stayed at the Monte Carlo for the first time. POOL - awesome/lots of loungers/3 pools/1 wave pool/creek to float on in a tube(buy tube at Walgreens for $4.99, as opposed to $13.99 at the pool)/ lots of scenery, if you know what I mean

CASINO - brutal/ drink service is the worst I've seen on the strip/no atmosphere/quite quiet/slots don't pay at all/unfriendly dealers....will not gamble there again

ROOMS - fantastic/large/great bathrooms/great view of strip/clean/best part of hotel

SERVICE - upgraded us to a kingsize bed at no cost!!

LOCATION - south strip/OK/prefer the Imperial Palace location

FOOD - ate at the brewry and it excellent and reasonable

COST - stayed for about $105.00 per night.....not bad but the casino is boring.....no party atmospshere at all.

I thought the rooms were exceptional, however, in Vegas so little time is spent in the rooms.......I likely wouldn't stay again, unless we got a better deal. We spent a lot of time gambling elsewhere(Barbary Coast, old strip, and Casino Royale)

Very nice hotel, very nice pool except for all the kids. Room was o.k. but nothing worth mentioning. Check-in was quick. Rooms were very clean just very ordinary. Stayed at TI last year and thought the rooms were a little nicer although we waited 21/2 hours to check-in.

Great hotel for the price. Not as posh as the newer 5 star resorts, but at $60 a night during the week, this was definitely a bargain and well worth it. The casino is quieter than others, not gimmicky, but it was nice to come back to at night after hanging out on the strip. Very clean rooms, nothing fancy and very friendly staff. My only complaint was there is only one coffee shop in the hotel, S'bucks, and it definitely needs more help in the morning - long slow lines. McD's was worse. I walked next door to the one at NYNY and got served much quicker.

Check in was quick, and the $20 trick made the front desk clerk so happy, he shoved as many 2-for-1 coupons and free spa passes into the coupon folder he possibly could. We stayed in a Monaco Suite for the first time, which was spacious and beautiful, but not sound-proofed at all. Apparently, these suites are mainly used by families, who also book the adjoining room next door. Lucky for the parents in the suite, they can hear everything going on with their kids. This was not so good for us, as we could hear the casual conversation our neighbors were having late into the night. My husband complained to the front desk about the noise around four in the morning, and we were moved into a Diamond Suite at no extra charge the next day. These rooms are not available for rent, but are comped only. Very luxurious. If we thought we could get one by booking a Monaco Suite and complaining about the noise every time, we would definitely do it. Great service at this hotel, friendly dealers (as they take your money, sadly), wonderful pool, nice spa. My only complaints are: paper-thin walls in the hotel, buffet needs an overhaul, and there are too many kids in the pool area.

We went to Vegas for the ACM awards at the end of May. We had a great stay at the Monte Carlo. We booked the whole trip through Southwest airlines vacation and got a good deal on a Monaco suite (the trip was also for our 5th anav.). When we arived at 1pm there was no line at check in. We asked to be upgraded to a Spa suite, at first we were told it was not an option because of the way we book the trip. Then we were told we could pay $91 to upgrade. We were on the 31st floor with a strip view. The spa was in front of the window! The room was big, a little dated (VCR, tape deck) but was nice. The down side was that the tram to the Bellagio is gone. They will put something else in when Project City Center is done. and the lazy river was down until the first of June. The other pools were nice. Even without the tram it was a good location.

My wife and I stayed at the MC to revisit a memory of our first trip alone to Vegas. The hotel is still very nice but doesn't have the same impact as it did several years ago. The strip properties around it have grown in size and in glamour but I still rate the MC as one of the best values on the strip. It has all the basic things you need if not all the latest and greatest shopping malls and pool area. The rooms are basic but nicely decorated, the bathrooms have marble counter tops and the casino is easy to navigate (you can't say that for Paris or NYNY). They have some low table limits ($5.00 blackjack, etc.) and offer room rates as low as $59.00/night in the off season. If your looking for great value for minimal dollars, this place is it!

Pretty good trip. Some good craps games going on over the weekend with helpful, patient croupiers for the people who were learning. Looks like they had a craps lesson earlier in the day also. Pool was open but we didn't swim, looked nice, looked clean. Lots of food selection for everyone to enjoy. Tram to Bellagio was down for my second straight trip to Vegas, which is bad, but walking is fine I guess. The sports book is pretty nice except most of the sports scores and lines were not visible unless you walk up to the betting desk. From the casino all you can mainly see is the horse racing lines. But that wasn't that big of a deal. The poker room was standard, the only time I played was 3am and there were no good players. Room was perfect looking over the strip. All I had to do was ask for it. Table games were standard, no 5 dollar tables on the weekend for the lower limit players though. I think the rates are too high for the hotel though, the only reason we stayed here is because we got a ridiculously low rate sent to us in the mail. All in all a good trip, I would recommend it to anyone.

Enjoyed this hotel. Service was good-had to change reservations to add additional person and to organize rollaway bed: it was there when we arrived. Check in was fast and efficient as was check out. Gift shop could have been a little more upscale, a little too tacky and not in that good Las Vegas tacky way. Found the location fine. Didn't use the pool or restaurants.

Well, visited Monte Carlo for two nights in the first week of January and have a mixed review. Check-in was good...valet helpful, professional, and friendly...and counter was just great. This week was dead, something not common in Vegas lately. Going right after new year's is the reason. Had a good rate for two nights and had a 21st floor view of the strip. The pub is fantastic...good brews and service. Great atmosphere. Fresh air keeps the smoke out of the casino. The good news pretty much ends there.

The slots were very tight for all of us on this trip. The cocktail service was non-existent if you were playing slots, but was so-so at the tables. This is towards the south end of the strip and not an ideal spot, so I was surprised to see $25 minimums at BJ and $10 at craps. They reduce them during the AM, but that's it. Don't bother with the player's club. The attitude of the help when you register is lousy...and the slot tournaments for new members and hotel guests (mentioned on this web site's list of continued promotions) is gone. They said it was over last August...only a few months back! Also, there were no comps...coupons, 2-1 drinks, buffets, anything. Pretty skimpy. I am used to getting some kind of coupon book for these items once you get a player's card (TI, IP, Fremont area, etc.) but nothing here. It just wasn't that much fun at all. We left to gamble elsewhere. Won't return unless the rate is better. Rooms were just ok...somewhat dated.

My stay at the Monte Carlo was enjoyable! The check in staff were really welcoming and friendly. The room was a bit small, but the beds are just GREAT! The casino is iffy, but fine to gamble in for an hour when you get back from other casinos. I found the price to be well worth it and a great value. Good job Monte Carlo! PS. This isn't a luxerious hotel, but it does the job just fine.

Stayed 4 nights late Nov/05. 8th visit to Vegas and this was the best check in. Front desk clerk was organized, competent, and accomodating. When asked for a room with a strip view, she put us on the 21st floor overlooking MGM, Gameworks, Coke world, & the Pole towers. The room itself was less impressive. Average size with aging decor. Grout around the tub is decaying and dirty and showerhead is corroded with obvious calcium buildup. The tub is very short for those who prefer a bath. The casino is nicely laid out and easy to find your way around. Restaurants are located all along one wall and the shops are all located along one hallway. The pool was closed. The gaming staff were all friendly and helpfull. Cocktail waitresses are prompt & efficient. We had a 10:00 P.M. flight on the last day of the visit. The front desk clerk extended our checkout time and arranged for the bell desk to hold our luggage until the late departure time arrived. Valets are first rate. We ate at the Cafe for breakfast and lunches and were impressed with food quality and service. Ate at Blackstones steakhouse and was bitterly disappointed. (Refer to hotel restaurant reviews for explanation.) Overall, we were satisfied with what we received for the price that we paid. The beautiful exterior of the building masks the deteriorating condition of the rooms on the inside. Regardless of these small imperfections, the south strip location, price of the room, and quality of the hotel staff makes the Monte Carlo a viable choice for those who appreciate value for their dollar.

I stayed 6 nights at the Monte Carlo. I was there on business and did not have a lot of time to gamble, but when I did, I gambled at the Monte Carlo. I am usually not a big gambler, in fact, I usually play only pennies. I came out $10 ahead (would have been $15 if I had not squandered $5 at the airport before I left).

I had a great experience at the Monte Carlo. I tried the $20 trick at check in. The clerk, Angie, made a great effort, but upgrades are hard to come by on a Saturday night. She made several phone calls and checked with several managers, but no luck. I did tip her well for her efforts. Ended up with a very nice room on the 21st floor the next day. My room was in excellent shape and was cleaned well by housekeeping each day.

One of the things that I liked best about the MC was that it was not smell badly of cigarettes. Sure, there were people smoking there, but the smoke did not linger like other casinos. The ventilation system was very good. I also liked that you did not have to walk through the casino to get to your room.

I ate at the food court a couple of times when I was between meetings. I was able to find printable coupons for Nathan's Hot Dogs on line and used that twice (BOGO hot dog). They are very good, especially if you are on the run. Friendly service there too. I also ate lunch at the MC buffet too. The Asian bar was excellent, but the rest of the buffet was limited and ordinary. Might have been more selection for dinner.

The tram to the Bellagio was also very helpful, as I had several functions to attend there. It was a real time saver.

Overall, a very plesant stay, and a great value for the money. If I am in Vegas again, I will definitely stay there!

Early in December I received an invitation to stay at the Monte Carlo comped because of my previous play at various One Card properties. I took them up on the offer and arrived on 12-18 for a 5 night stay. I cannot describe adequatly my disappointment in this property.

I arrived at the hotel around 11am on Sunday the 18th. It took the valet 20 minutes to give us our parking ticket. When we went into the lobby we stood in line for an additional 45 minutes at one of 4 open checkin stations. I was 3rd in line and it still took them the better part of an hour before I was welcomed and given a room key with an admonishment not to go to the room before 2pm since it would take that long to get it cleaned. The bell staff were useless standing around talking while a huge line formed waiting to drop off bags. They seemed to be in their own little world and didn't give a rat's rear about the line of people snaking across the lobby waiting to check their bags since none of the rooms were ready.

Finally after checking our bags we went into the casino. I am not exagerating when I say I haven't seen a place with such depressed dealers since the old Mapes Hotel in Reno in the 70s. I mean not one smile or bit of chear from any dealer in this place. It was like gambling amoungst the dead. I don't blame dealers for having bad days after all it is a tough job but the very least they could do is say hello and thank you when you tip them or join their table. The blackjack dealers were by far the worst. I've been playing $25.00 BJ tables for the past 10 years and have never seen such lackadasical dealers in my life. They seemed relieved when we left.

When we finally got to our room I was truely disappointed. The carpet was so filty I never took my shoes off the whole time I was there. The bathroom was clean but the toilet wouldn't flush the first day we were there. When I called the front desk they said someone would be up to fix it. They didn't come until the following afternoon. As you can well imagine the toilet was pretty well fouled by that time. The room had a tub shower combination, not up to vegas standards by any means. Though I will say the water pressure was excellent. The most annoying thing about the room was by far the noise. We were on the west side of the hotel facing I-15 on the 22nd floor and the noise from the freeway was unbearable. I didn't sleep soundly for 3 days. In addition on the second nite there the people in the adjacent room were practicing vocals until 2:30am complete with guitars and drums. Being a nice guy I politely asked them to refrain from making such a rucus and was immediately chased back into my room by a belligerent 30 something male. He then proceeded to kick the door to our room until I thought for sure it would snap in two. I retreated and called the front desk who dispatched security and ejected the miscreants with the help of the local police.

In the morning I checked out despite having comped rooms for a week and went to the Aladdin at my own expense. I will never return to the Monte Carlo. They don't care about their property, their service, or their guests.

I had a wonderful visit a year ago. This time around was different. It took us a 1/2 hour to check in which isn't bad. After waiting in two different lines I was told to move over to checkout lane. I stood there for 15 minutes and was told (rudely) by the girl that she was closing out. Luckily the girl that ended up helping me was very friendly and understanding. I asked for a strip view for me and my cousin who had never been to Vegas before. We were on the 16th floor and had a view from MGM to Treasure Island. It was truly awesome! They had a lot more $10 dollar tables for blackjack than they had before. There were a few $5 tables. I didn't see a ton of winners. I did love the poker room! All the dealers are so friendly and the people who run the poker tournaments during the week remember your name! Table service was great the first tournament not so great the second. My main problem was with the maid service. The first day we were out of room by 8:00 am and the maid never cleaned our room. The second day we slept until about 11 am and than walked the strip. The maid again never cleaned our room. The day before we left she came to the room and we were still sleeping. I asked her one to come back in an hour and she never came back. I really like to come to my room with a clean bed and room and we never got that. Beyond those two issues I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I love the tram that runs to Bellagio and I love the accessibility!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Monte Carlo. It doesn't have the hustle & bustle of some of the other hotels that we visited - its a more peaceful & relaxed kind of place. You can breathe in the casino without threatening your health, you can find your way through it easily and its a great place to watch gambling guests enjoying themselves (though we don't gamble ourselves.)

Our room was excellent, clean, spacious comfortable etc. The service we got from everyone on the front desk, the bell desk, the eating places & the shops was first class.

In short, next time we're in Vegas, we know where we'll be staying.

Well done the folks at the Monte Carlo.

Typical excellent visit at MC. Stayed in Monaco Suite. Very clean and quiet for Las Vegas. Great access to Strip. Excellent mobility with Frank Sinatra Drive to allow taxi movement without using Las Vegas Blvd. Cafe was very good for breakfast, buffet was ok- nothing great. Excellent massages. Wynn maybe be a tad nicer but you can't beat the value at MC. We'll gladly stay here again.

My wife and I stayed a week at the Monte Carlo. It was a great visit. The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. I had read complaints about the walls being too thin and hearing noise from the neighbors. I experienced NONE of that. There was plumbing noise coming from the bathroom; however, by closing the bathroom door we didn't hear the noise.

Ate at the Cafe for breakfast and one dinner. The breakfast was very good and the prices were in line for most hotel restaurants. For two of us it cost ~$30.00 with tax and tip. If you want cheaper you can go to Denny's. The dinner at the Cafe was not that good and would not recommend it.

Ate at the Italian restaurant and Brew Pub for Dinner. Both of these places were excellent and not too pricey; ~$45-50 for two people.

The staff was very friendly.

All in all we had a wonderful time and would highly recommened it.

Monte Carlo is a nice hotel. Valet was quick and efficient, check in quick and friendly and the rooms were tastefully decorated. We loved the soaps and shampoos! Did not experience any of the "noise" issues others have mentioned. Enjoyed the slots at the casino, but table games lacked excitement, so we played elsewhere. The pool is nice, but not as nice as the Mirage or Flamingo. Buffet (dinner) was awful, do not recommend. The Brew Pub is great though, enjoyed it!

We had a nice stay here. Great value for the $$ and location is wonderful. Bed was very comfortable and shower was good. Pool area was nice but smaller than I expected - just wish they stayed open later than 8pm! Every staff member we encountered said hello to us. We ate at the brew-pub which was fine and used the food court for breakfast. We did not hear any of the plumbing noise others have mentioned. We would definitely go back - especially for the price we paid!

Came through the Monte Carlo on a regular basis, 7/2-7/9/05. We rode the free tram from Bellagio and used Monte Carlo as out gateway to the south strip. Really a mixed bag. Love the Brew pub, excellent IPA. Liked the food court. No problem with the employees. The casino itself seemed tight and kinda dead. We played here some, but enjoyed other places more. Not as much action as other south strip locals. Saw a slot tourney with maybe 10 folks taking part. Smallest group I've EVER seen in a slot tourney. I can't put my finger on any real problem, just not a great place to play.

I have never stayed here (don't know why) but I visited the casino several times, most recently from July 17th to July 21st. The thing that's always impressed me most was the layout of the casino. This is the easiest casino to get around in! Brightly lit and straight forward! It's one huge room from the front strip entrance to the back! Start on one side, work front to back and then back to front on the other side! Table games in the middle. Can't get lost here! Resteraunts are along the side walls and shops in the back. Blackstone's was great steak house and I had wonderful service and great meal for a reasonable price. I also found this to be one casino that had some newer slots. Slots were loose enough to actually win a little. I place this casino high on my list of places to play!

Although check-in lines were slow at noon on a Monday, we had a great room with a view on the 31st floor. The rooms are smaller than we are used to as we usually stay at Bally's. However, they were spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was fine. As for noise, yes, you could hear the plumbing, but nothing that we hadn't heard at other hotels. The pool area is terrific and no problem getting chairs. What we liked best was that, unlike Bally's, you never had to walk very far to get to the pool or anywhere in the hotel. All of the employees, from registration to the dealers, were pleasant. We will definitely return!

Ate at Blackstones, The Pub and Market city Cafe, all located in the Monte Carlo. All Great food and service. The Buffet was OK, nothing great, but good.

Hotel staff was excellent.

Haven't been to Vegas for a few years, and the whole Vegas experience has gone decidedly downhill starting with this hotel. Had no problems checking in but we got a 'disabled room'. We are not disabled. Should have said something but didn't want to waste valuable gambling time dickering with staff who don't care or understand english. After one night in the room, really felt I should have gotten room changed. It had a doorbell that everyone who walked by felt they had to use. The toilet was too high, the showerhead too low. My own fault for not requesting a change. Had a view of the spotlights they use to light the bldg at night. Felt like daylight 24 hrs a day and the pile of moths was disgusting.

Didn't meet a friendly staff person until the 4th day of the trip. He was a roulette 'dealer'(?). Every person we tried to talk to either acted like we were bothering them or just didn't understand english. Must be where all the cabbies go work after they lose their licenses. After 5 days we had one friendly cocktail waitress, one friendly BJ dealer, and 2 friendly roulette guys. I remember when it was unusual to find bad service in Vegas. Now it's unusual to find even competent service.

Really wanted to like the property, but they did their best to make us hate it.

WOW! After spending the last 3 visits at the Imperial Palace we were pleasantly shocked at this hotel. I never wanted to get out of that great bed! We had a great view of the pool, which was fantastic to visit too. We took a free poker lesson in the poker room from a very nice and patient dealer named Bob. The Bell desk held our bags when we checked out, and when we went to claim them, he pulled them to the curb outside, bypassing the line at the cab stand. The Hallways were opulant, the staff made me feel like I was the only guest in the place. Thank you Monte Carlo for our best Vegas vacation yet!

An excellent Strip value. I actually booked Boardwalk first for the price, but then found this for an extra $30/night. It was well worth it for my first Vegas experience.

Upsides:

Nice touches with the brass, cherry & marble in the rooms.

The location is great, both for walking around the Strip and for getting in and out with a rental car.

Service was top notch the whole time. You're not gonna get a full service concerige here, but all the basics are covered in short order.

Downsides:

The comments about noisy plumbing are true, but I found them to be a minor annoyance at most.

My main pet peeve was walking all the way from one end of the casino to the other anytime I wanted to go from my room to the Strip. I guess this is standard issue, but at least here the casino isn't nearly as big as the majors (Caesar's, Bellagio, Mirage, etc.)

Bottom line: Anytime you can book here for under $99/night, jump on it. You'll be glad you did.

My husband and I stayed at the Monte Carlo this past weekend. We arrived Saturday afternoon and the first thing I noticed about the room was that the bathroom that was supposed to be "luxurious" was pretty nasty. The fixtures were crusty and the gold finish had worn off of them. The tub drain was so slow you ended up taking a shower in standing water. The Marble tile in the bathroom still had the pencil marks from when they cut the tiles which means that they haven't been cleaned since they were installed. The walls were so thin we were not able to sleep the first night. The TV had an error message so we were not able to use the menu. The power plug for the High Speed internet did not work. When we arrived back at the room Sunday night at 10pm there was a note on the TV (inside the closed amoire) that they were going to turn the water off at 11PM-5AM that evening to work on the water heater system. We did not have water until almost 9:00 the next morning! I very much regret choosing this hotel and will never stay there again.

My hubby and I have stayed at the Monte Carlo several times due to it being a great location and great price. The rooms have always been clean and really nice. We never expected too much for the great price, but it could have been worse. Although our room was fine, when we played slots in the casino, it took us about 30-45 minutes to get asked if we wanted a drink, then after ordering a long island ice tea, it took almost the same amount of time to finally get a VERY watered down drink. (It tasted like Coca Cola and a bit of 7-up). The only other complaint that I have was that the room service entered our room immediately after knocking. We didn't even have a chance to say hold on, come in....or anything! I felt that very rude, and as soon as the maid saw we were in the room, she shut the door quickly and proceeded down the hall. The price is great, the location is greater...but the service really could be better.

Great stay at the Monte Carlo!!! Beautiful suite, the most comfortable "hotel" bed I've slept on!! We had no issues with noise whatsoever!! We were even right by the elevators. Casino was great, not smokey at all. In other casino's we visited, I could barely breathe!!! Staff was friendly, prompt service, great location and very romantic. Perfect for couples....I saw virtually no kids here!

Date Visited: 01/05 - Undecided

The last time I actually stayed at the Monte Carlo was in August of 2003. As I write this review it should be noted that I have stayed at the MC 8 times out of my 11 LV trips. Needless to say I have a liking for it. The last time, however, left me with a bad feeling about it- thus the 3 year layoff. I am going again in August and will report back in detail. I want those of you who read these posting to know that MC could have used me for advertisement. I have gone with my wife, children and friends. I had nothing but positive things to say about the place, and raved about the great location, easy layout, excellent value and overall friendly employees. As I am set for a return, I am hopeful that I experience what I for so long thought was the usual MC treatment.

What went wrong? The Casino staff. I will not go into great detail due to lack of time. Never, however, have I been treated so poorly by dealers, pit bosses and casino managers. They clearly did not keep to the idea that the MC is not in the "elite" category of casinos. They acted as if they are though. Dealers were rude and pit bosses seemed to have the attitude that you were only important if you were a whale. Unfortunately, unlike the Las Vegas TV show, the hotel and the casino are managed by different people. Big Ed would have fired the pit boss on the spot. The hotel manager on the scene sympathized with my plight and comped us dinner, but admitted he had no control over the casino. It was clear to me that he did not think highly of the casino staff and had problems previously. So, this upcoming trip coming up will decide my Monte Carlo fate. I would love to stay here each year I come as my wife and children very much enjoy it and we have had great memories. If, however, the casino continues in the same rude manner as our last visit, then it will indeed be our last visit- there are plenty of other options.

I will check back in late August...

Monte Carlo is quickly becoming my favorite strip hotel. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds, the service is overall good to very good. Sometimes the drink service can be slow. The pool area is quite nice and the live band in the brew pub was really good. We never heard a sound from others in our room.

The casino is not as smokey as a lot of other places I have stayed. The poker room is well run and spreads games from $2.00/$4.00 to no-limit. They also have very good rules for BJ and plenty of $5.00 tables most of the time.

The self parking structure is one of the best in town. I have no problem recommending Monte CArlo to anyone.

I wanted a Diet Coke and the hotel food and beverage manager told me he did not have any responsibility to sever me, the customer. The hotel only sells Pepsi. I guess the pay off is bigger than the value of a customer.

We had a great stay at MC!We got a really good deal at the MC website, and also received a coupon book (lots of 2-for-1s for the food court at MC) We were able to check in shortly after 11AM...check-in was quick and painless. We had a great view of the strip, and could even see part of the Bellagio fountains. Housekeeping was very respectful of the fact that people don't get up at the crack of dawn. They didn't come to our room until they saw us head out for the day. And the beds were very comfy. One thing to note: We were awaken (from a very drunken state lol) by a fire alarm, and an automated voice over a loudspeaker in the room--'We are investigating the source of the alarm'...this played over and over, even after the front desk had said it was a false alarm. Other than that, which scared us sober, we had a great stay here!

This is my favorite place to stay on the strip. The casino is large, well lit and you can find $5 tables even on the weekends. The M.C. does have a poker room which is non smoking. I feel the M.C. is the best value on the strip.

This was my first time at the Monte Carlo. My best short description is its similar to Mandalay Bay, but just older and a little more worn out. However, don't let that bother you, it is a nice hotel and a good bargain. We got a $49 room and a $139 suite. The basic room is just that, basic. Which is all you need while spending a few days in Vegas. Out of the 4 days we were there I only spend about 10 total hours in the room. The suite was OK, not sure I would splurge on a suite again. The tub in the suite was nice and there were two bathrooms (Why? I have no clue). The suite faced towards the Bellagio and the room faced NYNY and both offered nice views. As for the noice concern, I never noticed it and we were right next to the elevator.

Spent mucho time in the casino. I'm a video poker guy and everything is 8-5, except the $5 machines which are 9-5. The casino is nice and drink service was good. One night, I bet I went thru 30 Captain and Cokes during the 6 hours of video poker play on a .25 machine. The waitress was awesome. I didn't see anybody hitting jackpots, but the table games were lively and lots of play going on at all times. Be sure to play Mariachi Madness and bet 5 coins on 5 lines.

Only ate at the Buffet as we were too busy playing and drinking to sit down to an extended meal. The buffet was OK, nothing to write home about. Sometimes the wait to get seated was rather long.

Have no clue how the staff was, didn't talk to one except at check-in, which was very quick, and Checkout, which was also smooth. Maid service was fine.

All in all, I recommend this hotel. You can't go wrong for the price and location.

My husband and I have stayed at the Monte Carlo six times since 2001

(most recently Sept and a last minute Nov 2004 trip) and I just booked our

next 5 night stay for April. I guess you can say we really like it and are

pleased with nearly everything about the hotel. We did stay one night at

Paris on a 2003 trip just to try it out but I would NOT stay there again. (way

too crowded, noisy, rude help, and BACKED UP TOILET in our room!!!!)

The Monte Carlo has recently done some improvements (new pillow top

mattresses are terrific) and more changes are planned. However, the one

slight disappointment is that some of the rooms can be a little noisy. We

have been lucky because on our last 4 visits we were booked into rooms

that were fine. We also have gotten great views everytime!

As for the staff- we have NEVER had a bad experience with any of them..

They are always very polite, professional, accomodating, and efficient. I can

only say wonderful things about our VIP host also- he is the best! I can

reach him very easily anytime we are interested in coming and he

handles everything for us. On our last visit he sent a beautiful fruit basket

up to our room which I thought was very nice.

Perhaps I should clarify that we are by no means high rollers! I am

almost totally a slot player,(NOT high limit--) and my husband "dabbles" at

them for a few hours each visit. I guess I play enough to warrant free

rooms during our stays which is why I must say that it is a GREAT

value(LOL)

I agree with some comments made by others. I like that MC is easily

navigated, not like some of the huge properties. We always rent a car and

it is easy enough to park and get to hotel lobby. There is enough of a

variety of machines for me. I have never had a problem getting a drink

while I was playing. As for kids at the pool- well, I personally don't think

Vegas is the best choice to bring kids, but since ours are old enough not

to have to bring (YAY!!!) I don't let others get to me to much. Besides in

spite of all my good intentions I just hardly ever seem to actually get out to

the pool.

As for the restaurants- well we have never and will never eat in the buffet-

(hubby refuses to wait on a "cafeteria line"- I guess those images of

Randy Quaid in Vegas Vacation way too vivid for him). We eat breakfast in

the cafe and since we are both early risers (in spite of staying up until the

wee hours) the line has never been bad to get in. The waitresses are very

friendly and the coffee is good. Lunches are usually light;depending on

our daytime plans. Dinners are either in Market City Cafe- enough of a

variety on the menu to keep us happy for 2 nights of our stay. Blackstones

is our "Sat. night special place"- the food is fabulous and the waitstaff

top-notch! it is a bit expensive but worth it. Other nights we try other places

out of the hotel-(Lotus of Siam-off the strip, or Ah Sin at Paris are both

good choices)

So, to sum it up- the Monte Carlo is in my opinion- a great place to stay-

great location- easy to go to other strip casinos for a change of pace, great

value even if you have to pay for your room-(ha ha) friendly staff, good food,

nice atmosphere- by the way you CAN buy that wonderful scent you smell

through out the hotel- it is available in their store in an air freshener spray,

easy parking-smooth check-in-express check out-decent pool-Give it a try-

We did not stay at this hotel, but we gambled and ate here.

The casino is large with a big selection of slots and table games. There were several $5 blackjack tables during a busy evening!...which you will not find at the nearby resorts.

We ate at the Blackstone Steakhouse!

For a price of $25-$35 per entrée…you will be very impressed! It is a great choice of fine dining! We were greeted at the door and seated right away with a 7pm reservation (made 3 hours prior). They have many large and private cozy round booths. The décor is very elegant…warm subtle wood tones, dimmed lighting, and candles on each table. Food was perfect. Will return for sure on our next visit.

My visit with the Monte Carlo was my first trip to Vegas. I did not know what to expect but the MC staff was very friendly and the room was clean and well appointed, with the exception of only 2 glasses. There was no noise problem as suggested by earlier posts and the maid service was da bomb! The desk was good about accomodating my special requests and check-in was effortless. A certain baccarat dealer was more than happy to teach me the game and I'll definitely return to his table during my next visit in June even though my convention is in another resort. The pool area was crowded and there were no lounges available the entire day but that is a result of rude patrons who hold lounges with their towels and then leave. The buffet was wonderful and reasonabley priced, compared to the Mirage where the food was unedible and overpriced. The only true complaint I had was that not once, while playing for three hours at the slot machines, was I EVER approached by a cocktail waitress. I had to get all of my own drinks and that was definitely a source of irritation. Will definitely spend time at MC again.

We liked a lot about Monte Carlo. The micro brew is great and you can order it from the tables. I also loked the pool area a lot.

I DID NOT LIKE THE FRONT DESK PEOPLE!! We wanted a single king-size bed and they kept trying to give us 2 doubles. We had to change rooms once. Not very "family" friendly <wink wink>

Yipes. This is one level up from sleeping in the car. I go to Vegas to gamble if I wanted children running through the hotel in bathing suits and dripping in the elevator I'd go to Disneyland. Many of the rooms have connecting doors and the noise is unbelievable! During my 4 day stay I had to change rooms 3 times because of the noise. The final night I got fed up and just called security. The buffet is so-so and the casino is just ok.

This is my 8th trip this year and I like to stay in a different hotel every time. This is by far the worst!!! Avoid it like the plague.

WOW!!! A True Gem, & a Great Secret...with one of the best locations in Las Vegas (We had a view of the strip, and could see the dancing fountains @ the belligao @ night. I was actually thinking this place wouldn' be great, the minute we checked into rooms, there were left over bottles from the previous visitors (still in the fridge...the bottles that is), and there was no cover on one of the light switch, the drain in the shower took hours (litterally) to drain...and the rooms were quite small for what we paid. However, with that said, I would stay nowhere else in Las Vegas than the Monte Carlo. The casino was GREAT!!! Easy<--- to move around without bumping into people, and feeling paranoid when they look @ you funny, and check for their wallet, and purse. The casino is spread out, & the walls are high, and it's beautiful!! This may sound odd, but I swear the two days I was there, EVERYBODY was WINNING!!! It was unbelievable fun at this place...I stayed @ the Golden Nugget the night before, and the Mirage the night after [was scheduled to stay here 2 days as well], and checked out a day early, [@ the "Mirage" because I HATED and HATE what the MIRAGE has become, now that MGM owns it:( Come here [Monte Carlo] for a fun, SAFE trip, with the best location on the strip...I am telling you, this place is unbelievable!! I LOVE IT!!!! To Close...WOW!!

In my opinion, the Monte Carlo is one of the best, if not the best places in Vegas in terms of quality for the money. I went there twice so far this year and each time I thought it was great. I would say the rooms are very nice, and on the ground floor - you know you are at one of the nicer Casino/Hotels in Vegas. The Poker Room was excellent and the swimming pools a blast. Wish I could stay there for a year or two . . .

A small plumbing problem took two visits to fix. When I complained, they mollified me with a couple of comps for the Cafe or the Buffet. We both did pretty good in the casino. We only ate in the Cafe, but the food, service and value were excellent. We had stayed at Balley's on the first leg of our trip and will not go back there. I really like the casino at the MC. The layout is good and the games are as good as you will find these days:

- Double Deck BJ with double allowed after splitting (but no surrender).

- Craps with 3x 4x 5x odds and triple payoff for 12 on the Field Bet.

On the down side, the Single "0" roulette is gone, and I could not find any 9/6 video poker machines.

The sportsbook is small, compared to some, but has excellent drink service, without the dreaded "drink coupon" required by Mandalay Bay.

The rooms are average size, but clean and well kept. I did not notice any problem with the "thin walls" others have commented on.

Dinner at Blackstone's was good to excellent. I had the veal chop and creamed spinich.

The food and beer at the Brew Pub was outstanding. Nothing bad there at all!

I can highly recommend the Monte Carlo, and will be back!

Had a great visit last week at the Monte Carlo. The hotel was great. One of

the nicer ones in the strip. But the service was questionable, we got to

Vegas at about 10am and checked in. The lady gave us a room with the

view of the pool and the las vegas strip (Bellagio fountains, paris, etc.).

We thought this was great. The lady said to check back an hour or so later

to see if our room is ready. We kept checking back and they kept saying,

the room is not ready, check between 3pm and 5pm and the rooms are

guaranteed to be ready. Well lo and behold is wasn't. I complained and

said we waited the whole day for nothing. The nice guy, "upgraded" us to

another room with the same view. I was skeptical at first. But when we got

to the room, we were amazed! It was such a great view, especially at

night. We can see all the way down to Stardust. The room was a decent

size, we didn't notice any thin walls or loud plumbing that I kept reading

about. The Casino was nice but the slots were too tight. I came away

empty handed. The pools however were top notch. The have a easy river

pool and a wave pool. I think the Monte Carlo was the originator of the

wave pool, not the Mandelay Bay. I think the Monte Carlo was built before

the Mandelay Bay. Anyways, overall we had a great stay asides from the

wait.

The Monte Carlo was a nice hotel. We liked the fact that we didn't have to walk 10 minutes to get from the room to the elevator. Rooms were nice sized and bathroom was ample. We had a nice strip view facing Bellagio, Alladin, and Paris. Maid service was just OK. One day our room wasn't cleaned tho we were gone from 10-4PM. I got clean towels from the maid and asked her not to clean the room. I called housekeeping to make sure it didn't happen again and everyone bent over backwards to apologize. It wasn't that big of a deal, but felt that was the only negative. The taxi stand was easy to reach and we only had to wait once for a cab - maybe 10 minutes. Location was fine, but would have been better if the tram to Bellagio was still operational. Never gambled or ate here, but the sundries shop was reasonably priced. All in all this was a very good value.

My wife and I are regulars at the Monte Carlo. In all my years of going to Vegas we have had opportunities to stay at a wide range of other hotels. The rooms here are just fine, its Vegas, how much time do you need to spend in the room anyway. The self-parking is the most convenient in Vegas, Check-In is great, and the casino is just the right size, not to small and not to large. It is not what I would consider family friendly, other than the pool I don’t think there is that much for kids to do, which I consider a plus. But one of the best aspects of this hotel is the people! They have a great staff.
