my father thomas quigley and self stayed inthis place for over 10 years and he loved it as i did he passed away 2yrs ago but i still intend to stay there it is a very convenient place to go down towm and we refused to pay the price the other hotels were charging for a room and these rooms are clean i will add that a coffee making machine would be very good and useful to the elderly who can

not move around as quick and may need a beverage either tea or coffee

Don't underestimate this Motel. The rooms are small, but quiet, clean, and everything works. If you are only looking for sleeping quarters at an absolutely fantastic rate, and downtown is where you stay, don't be afraid to stay here.

My third stay at the Ogden House was just as good as the previous two. This place is what one really wants when visiting Las Vegas, since it's a clean and secure place to sleep, and the room rate was the best in the entire city. I've never, ever had any trouble outside the Ogden House! You need to show your key card upon entering, and the staff remembers the guests too. My friend and I shared a room with twin beds (Yep, they have rooms with twin beds!), that were firm and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, and I'm extremely particular about that in a hotel room. Plenty of towels too.



One great idea is to stop at the snack bar in the northwest corner of the El Cortez Hotel before going back to your room. It's a great place for coffee in the morning too, but I suggest the fantastic breakfasts in their coffee shop. The "early bird" dinner specials are super too, and the Prime Rib dinner was only $5.95!



My only complaint (I'm trying hard to think of one) is that my TV didn't get one of the cable channels clearly... as if I went to Las Vegas to watch TV! The El Cortez Casino is the best entertainment in town, and the luckiest place in my opinion. I maintain that the Ogden House is the best value in town, so bring your own shampoo and save your money for the casino!

This is a basic, no frills place. A bit worn out, but I didn't expect brand new or fancy. The small room had the nice touches of Art Deco light fixtures and a large variety of cable TV channels. I couldn't book a room at any of the larger downtown hotels, and the El Cortez referred me to the Ogden, which is under the same ownership. Was thrilled to pay only $22 a night on a weekend, and the area was nowhere near as bad as others had warned me. I walked around at all hours of the day and night and had no problems. For Greyhound bus travelers, the Ogden House is a short two block walk from the Lady Luck stop.
